This is a sturdy and well-engineered gate ki
I have fitted two of these 24v automatic gate kits to farm gates. One is the solar panel version which keeps the two large 12v batteries, connected in series, charged up, even through the winter months. The second gate kit, nearer the house, shown in the photos is powered from the mains with the 24v power supply. Since these gates are on a very busy public footpath in the Yorkshire Dales I have set the kits up so that the actuators only have to push the gates shut via the remotes in the car as they are not bolted to the gates but able to freely retract, sliding in a runner bolted to the gates to push them shut. Both gates are opened from each side via stout nylon wires, reachable from the driver’s seat, which lift the standard gate latch, releasing the bolt, or pull the gate’s bolt open, the powerful spring having been replaced by a suitable weight. The gates are hung to swing open by gravity. In this way, walkers are able to open and close the gates without any hindrance using the latches or bolts.

Wonderfully helpful, rapid customer service
I bought this gate opener to reduce the number of times I’ve been having to climb in and out my car, opening gate after gate (we have three on our track) and it’s perfect. It was easy to install (I am not remotely experienced at wiring things up) and I succeeded with no problems. I had an issue with the clutch on my gate opener at first but the customer service was impeccable – Chelsey and Shelley from Topens responded immediately with clear, friendly instructions and didn’t hesitate to replace parts and answer questions. I would definitely reccomend if you live on a farm and have endless gates to open just to get out the driveway! The solar option really handy if you can’t get mains electric to the gate and want to keep your battery topped up.

Great product and service
Bought this product with the solar panels as getting mains power to my gate would have been difficult.
Product arrived the next day, with good instructions which were easy to follow. It works really well and the panels provide enough power even in the depths of winter with very little sun, providing the gate is not used too many times a day. I’ve had one problem with a wiring fault but this was dealt with immediately by Topens who always responded the next day to me emails with detailed accurate guidance.
Highly recommended.

Good value, relatively easy to install with good technical backup.
Item arrived promptly and was relatively easy to install from the clear and detailed instructions and video. I emailed Topens support for help with a small problem that developed during installation and received a solution by email within 24 hours as promised. The reply, like the instructions, was clear and concise. The gate opener works perfectly and takes about 20 seconds to open or close. The remote range is specified as 60ft but I can operate the gate from further away than this. Excellent product although only just acquired so no idea whether it will last.

Quality Solar Gate Opening Solutio
Clear instructions for the install – it comes with 1 remote control.
You may need to purchase a reel of electrical cable (for the solar panels) and wiring the batteries
I purchased the wireless keypad and more remotes extra
You also have to purchase
1) 2 x 12V 12AH Sealed Lead Acid batteries – these are like you use on a golf trolley
2) A waterproof box for the batteries, charging unit and control uni

Brilliant product, great customer service
Purchased for our driveway outward opening gate (to stop me having to walk down the hill to open/close it every morning and night!). Topens provides a great range of accessories which I also purchased (lock, further beepers, wireless keypad, and ac converter – since we ran of mains power rather than car batter or solar). Really versatile and straightforward to install, just take your time, follow the instructions step by step – it was useful for me to have a spare pair of hands. I’m not a tradesman but ‘relatively’ handy, and got it all installed and working in about half a day. I had a few questions during installation and afterwards, and Topens were on hand via email with really useful and friendly help. Highly recommended – really happy.

Excellent Product and Brilliant Value For Money
Looking for an automatic gate opener for my 5 bar gate with no pedestrian gate. After a lot of research, I came across this one as I had no access to power. I purchased a large weather-proof box for the two batteries and solar charge controller along with extra wiring and terminal connectors. I also purchased two Topens wireless push button remote controls (TC173) from Amazon US and they work great. The instructions were very easy to follow. I hooked up the two 12v batteries and solar panel and away it went.
helpful people
Not being an electrician I had to take my time to install, and a phone call to a staff member was useful

Product came quickly, well packaged and with good instructions. Was a little tricky to fit but take your time and get measurements right. You definitely need an addition weatherproof storage box to house controllers, wires and in my case batteries.
Had an issue with the acuator piston not engaging, I messaged Topens directly and received very prompt and excellent advice from Shelley which after a few minutes was able to reengage clutch. Thanks so much Shelley

Working well so far.
Fairly straight forward to set up following the instructions. Working well so far. Would have preferred a proper waterproof junction box for the solar panel connections and had to purchase an additional waterproof junction box to hold the electrics as recommended in the instructions. Takes around 15-20 seconds to open / close the gate which is fine for me.

Excellent product and outstanding customer service.
I recently purchased a Topens A5S solar automatic gate opener. I had to contact customer services to assist me with my particular installation. I now have a fantastic product which is environmentally friendly and easy to use. Thank you Topens team for being so helpful.

Amazing opene
What can I say brilliant piece of kit and and customer service was amazing
After much research I bought this kit as I wanted to have remote controlled gate that didn’t require a connection to the mains electric. The service was excellent, the product is very good and exactly as described. The fitting was very straight forward and instructions were good. I bought 2 12v 12ah batteries which completed the setup to be off grid. The gate opener is very neat as are the solar panels. I can recommend without hesitation.

Great system, does the job well!
Really pleased with this system, so far so good with the solar panels solely powering the system for over 4 months now. I went to a mobility shop to buy two 12V batteries scooter batteries, which I connected in sequence to total 24V. For the installation I bought an extra 5m of 2 core cable to link everything together. Fairly straightforward to install as long as the instructions are carefully followed and the motor arm is mounted perfectly level to ensure smooth opening of the gate. I added the electronic lock and additional remotes quite easily to the system (purchased separately)
Overall I’d recommend this product.
