Basic fast cook Toshiba Microwave Oven. Manual Operatio
Don’t ever be fooled by stainless steel Inside and out microwave ovens.
I don’t usually purchase a Microwave oven that has that grey-painted outer frame.
I had purchased a Stainless Steel Microwave that lasted approx two years and the magnetron decided to fail.
Although I could have repaired it, I decided to go for a basic manual operation oven.
In the long run, a new magnetron would have priced out just by buying a new oven.
Of course, you cannot hear it because of I.D Content playing in the background.
Cooks fast and a brand I have always found their products are durable.
Excellent microwave if anyone is on a budget, It has a 20-litre capacity.

    Perfectly satisfactory
What I know about microwave ovens could be written on the back of a postage stamp. I needed to replace my broken oven, and was looking for one that was not too large, not too powerful and easy to operate. I took a chance on this model and, thus far, I have been very satisfied with it. It does everything I require competently.

Good microwave, nice size, works well
Good microwave from a well known brand at a reasonable price. It is quick and effective. A good size and easy to clean inside. My only minor criticism would be the numbers on the dial can be quite difficult to read being small, white and on black.

This microwave is easy to use. Looks nice and sleek on the worktop.
So far, it cooks food evenly and is easy to clean.
Has a glass plate that sits on the turntable.
Will hold a small/ medium dinner plate.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersStylish and easy to use.
Looks amazing, very pleased with the aesthetics and the interior is super easy to clean. Have not had any issues so far, definitely outperforms our old unit when it comes to preparing popcorn (a common issue with some models). The microwave is extremely intuitive and easy to use with a variety of preprogrammed timer/settings. The countdown timer is also quite futuristic, indicating time frame intervals. In conclusion I’d say it’s a solid contender for this price range.

Bought this for my elderly mum ( 94 ) She had problems reading the screen and hitting the correct buttons on her old microwave.
With the twist dials on the Toshiba it is so much easier for her to use.
leave the heat setting in one position and twist the timer to the desired time wait 2-5 mins depending what’s cooking or re-heating and its job done. 800w cooks faster than the 700w so pleased we opted for the 20l x 800w
Nice size and quite weighty so it won’t slide over the worktop when the door is opened. very quiet in use, Nice finish on the paintwork, good value for money. Will highly recommend.

So the last microwave we’d had for years. I’m not sure we ever really cleaned it properly as it dawned on me it was utterly revolting and beyond saving. So, that went in the bin. Didn’t want to spend a fortune, don’t think you should have to for such a cooking tool
Turns out you don’t. This wasn’t the cheapest but was well down there. It’s so far so good. Heats stuff. On time. So that’s good.
It’s pretty light weight so I got in unpacked and up on a shelf in the garage pretty easily. It seems to work well. Timer is fine, heat level.is fine, and not overly noisy. The light inside with the door shut is dim so you can’t really see what’s going on in there, but it’s pretty obvious it’s getting warm; or hot depending what you chose. I have no complaints so far. You can gwt enough in there so good capacity. I mean who wants to put a whole chiken in there, if you do, don’t bother with this one it’s not that big. It sits nice on the side and ain’t gonna wobble. Makes a sweet ping when it’s done. Yep, so, all in all, good value, works well, looks fine. Decent overall pop de ping.

UPDATE: really happy after a few weeks of use of this. The controls work perfectly well, the ping at the end is pretty loud. I’m liking it.

I use both microwave and baking options on daily basis. I like the display, but have found the instructions poor and machine not very intuitive to use. I have found that it does cook well and fast due to the combination options. It also quieter than our older Sharp microware. Once you know how it is easy to use!

I mainly use it for warming milk, melting butter and reheating leftovers. I don’t cook from scratch or bake with it. It does the job I want it to do.

The wording on the control panel are difficult for an elderly person to read
Bought as a replacement for the gas oven which my elderly mother was finding difficult to use. However, she finds the wording on the microwave’s control panel difficult to read. Other than that, the appliance does the job as a micro, an oven and an airfryer.

Used daily and not let me down yet.
Easy to set the power setting and timer. Easy to clean inside and the display easy to read. I don’t know if this is a standard feature on all microwaves but the turntable will always stop at a point where it started. So if you have put a cup of soup, for example, in for a couple of minutes, then the handle will still end up pointing towards you at the end when you open the door.

This replaced our previous microwave we had for at least 15 years. It was smaller but the space and power is sufficient. My only disappointment is that you can’t see clearly through the window when in use. Sauces/ liquids could overflow because of this. My previous machine had good vision. Otherwise it’s fine.

This is a simple no frills basic micrwave oven. Easy to use, small and neat. easy to assemble.Timer is fairly accurate, numbers are clear but it would have been better if there had been a thin white line or dot on the side of the knob to line up with the numbers. I ran it empty as a trial when I first got and the outer casing got very hot, however when used normally with food in it the casing stays cool. Does the job and food is hot.
Bought it so I could cook 2 meals at the same time as this could not be done in my combined microwave, grill, convection oven.

    Door opening is small
Nice looking microwave. The internal dimensions given for this microwave are 30.6 X 30.4 X 20.6. Sadly we had to return as the door opening measures only 17.5 high by 27.5 wide (i though it was going to be 20.6 high). All the inside walls are curved giving the extra size but are not usable as you can only use the max size of the turntable width anyway. Anything that you put in it has to be no higher realistically than 16cm. Sadly no good for me.

Right price for basic microwave. I personally don’t like microwaves I prefer old style ovens, but my daughter loves it.
Always had high opinion of Toshiba brand, we still have a Toshiba TV ,15 or more years old. I think they used to advertise they go on and on and on. Don’t hear much about them now perhaps brand has been bought by someone else. You know where everything tends to be made these days.
Anyway, looks great, good price, good make cross fingers…

Good price and seems well made.
My previous microwave (a different brand costing about the same), had to be replaced after just a couple of years as the plastic coating inside was flaking off leaving exposed rust. I’m pleased to say that this one seems much better made and the door closes with a satisfying clunk; it’s also much quieter than the one it replaced. It’s a fairly standard no frills device that allows per second timing and has a few special settings, although oddly no bread defrost button which I use a lot. I also think that all microwaves should display the power output on the front as it’s easy to forget and a faff to spend longer searching for the manual than it will take to cook the ready meal you have in your hand; the previous one did, this one doesn’t. All-in-all very happy with the purchase for the price.

Few gripes.. The door opens exactly level to the side which is a bit annoying sometime when adding big itemsremoving.
The microwave seems to Get a lot more steamed up than my last one.
The text on the buttons is tiny and hard to read… Fine once you know them but 1st time users would struggle to identify what does what.

Our last microwave was all singing and dancing with grill, oven and all the fancy trimmings. Guess what we only ever used the microwave bit which packed up. This time we decided to go simple, no fancy buttons or bells, just two dials delivering what was required, a temperature and a timing level. This toshiba microwave delivers exactly that. It’s neat, small and doest fill entire kitchen up. Thank you toshiba for giving us exactly what’s on the box.

Feel obliged to leave a review for I myself had spent good few days searching and comparing, hopefully, could be helpful for someone in a similar situation.
    * It is a well made, easy to use, and minimalistically looking (in a good way) microwave.
    * The door is glossy but there’s a hidden handle to open it so it doesn’t collect too many fingerprints too soon.
    * When working, the internal light is on and you can see through the door. It is not as transparent as some other models, but perfectly fine to see the milk foam before it spills off, for example.
    * The child lock is really easy to set on and off.
    * Basic microwave functions are very intuitive to find/use. One press of a button switches it on at 800 for 30sec, etc. I didn’t even open the manual to start using it. Other options are also easy to navigate.
    * Unlike some other reviews mention, ours has a 24h time format, which is perfect.
    * It is quite spacious for a 20l microwave, the interior is bigger than in some other models I was looking at, and compared to our previous one. A standard dinner plate fits in easily.
Yet to see how long it will survive for, but so far so good, really pleased with the purchase.

Good machine but no recipe book or decent cooking instructions, absolute zilch customer service. The oven works very well but the instructions for use have been written by someone who has used the machine regularly and is very basic, and is not very helpful in providing examples of basic recipes and cooking techniques as most ovens do. I had seen it advertised on Youtube with a recipe book included. I contacted customer services to ask for said recipe book and the person at the other end told me there wasn’t one, she was also very unhelpful with regard to using and finding a recipe book. Complained to Toshiba, I spoke to friend in electrical retail whos said, “What do you expect from Toshiba they are extremely poor at comms and custtomer support.” I have kept the oven as it functions very well as a microwave and an air fryer. I am still scouring the internet for a copy of the missing cookbook or something that will help me use it to i’s full potential. Last time I buy anything from Toshiba!

I was a little surprised how cheap international version of this Toshiba digital microwave oven was. For the price, it was good enough for basic use. Probably, it has been designed in Japan and assembled in their factory in China for low cost mass production. Although, the coating on steel looked very basic and it does not look like long-lasting rust-proof stainless steel, so it may get rusty if moisture stayed inside, which means it is better to use cling wrap or cover with minimum steam escape, then better to wipe clean with dry tea towel after use to prevent the rust. I personally would like a 24 hour clock setting if possible, because their 12 hour clock does not show it is AM or PM during the dark British winter morning or evening. That’s possibly the sun rises in the same specific time all over the year in some countries like Japan.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our Users23L Microwave not perfec
Our previous microwave (a Sanyo) had a failed bulb that had no access to replace it and was starting to get rusty, so having read positive reviews of the Toshiba we bought one. After almost a year I see the good points and the niggles. The good points are that it cooks and reheats evenly, the door opens and closes easily and the instant full power for various minutes are a real asset. The niggles are that the defrost function has ‘by time’ or ‘by weight’ options, but nothing in the manual explains how to choose the time for anything, so only the weight is usable. Our Sanyo used to do part of the defrost, then pause for 2 minutes for temperatures to equalise then go again to finish the defrosting. The Toshiba does it in one go, and dense foods like joints of meat need longer that the weight decides. I add 10% to the actual weight for a proper defrost without starting to cook. The turntable rotates jerkily rather than smoothly, and it is too easy to dislodge from the drive and is fiddly to put back. The clock doesn’t keep exactly to time and gradually gets fast so I had to reset it about every 6 weeks. The time functions are not consistent: If I Time Cook, I put in (say) 415 and it assumes a leading zero and I get 4 minutes and 15 seconds; If I use the Kitchen Timer function and put in 415 it assumes a zero on the end and I get 41 minutes and 50 seconds. That took a bit of getting used to. None of the niggles would put me off buying one again, but I can’t give it 5 stars.

Golden Review Award: 18 From Our UsersSimple, good but limited
This is a small, effective microwave with minimal controls – just two knobs: one for power settings, and the other for timing. It has no frills, no readout, and not even the usual digital clock! It does its job and the results are as good as the old, more complex microwave I had to throw out and which it replaces. The timer is wholly analogue and setting is from the dial only. It is approximate but adequate. It counts down and ‘pings’ when finished. If you open the door, it stops BUT doesn’t reset and the most infuriating aspect is that it starts up again when you later shut the door and then you need manually to return it to zero. The secondary irritation is the smoothness of the knobs. They is hard to grip unless hands are completely dry. So in summary, a good little microwave. Ideal for student or small household. Good value but very basic and with manual features most other models replaced with digital buttons long ago. For these reasons only 4 stars.

After my microwave giving up (good make) after 3 years I decided to go for a cheaper one. This is really good, quick and handy pre-programmes, I like one touch button you press to automatically add 30 seconds plus to time and use this mostly. Coated steel inside is great, easy to clean and looks great. Light is slightly dim and buttons are hard to see but with regular use I’ll be able to use it with my eyes closed. It works OK but as others have said the numbers on the timer are difficult to see and the timing is not accurate and no seconds, what I have done is downloaded a timer for my smart phone and that times from 1 second to hours, I use that for accurate timing. Just turn it on higher than the timing you need then turn it off when your phone timer beeps at you.

Being disabled, I ordered this to replace my old microwave that had died. I’m pleased with the machine itself, but have to say it being not delivered by Royal Mail was quite inconvenient. I had to order food in as it did not arrive next day, and Royal Mail decided to only deliver a card through my door to say it was a heavy item, and needed to be collected from the sorting office. However, the microwave itself is here now, and works fine.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our Users4.0 out of 5 stars 2 good 2 bad points
Best thing is that it cooks well. If you use a low setting, it cooks at that setting rather than cooking very hot for a few seconds then stopping for a few seconds, repeat. The result is that things like eggs don’t overcook or explode like they did in my old microwave on low settings. The dials are really easy to use. It has not started to rust inside like my old one did within weeks of purchase. So far – fantastic and I would purchase again. Bad points: The markings are ridiculously indistinct and I have to put my glasses on to read. You get used to that and you can always add extra marks in tipex or white paint if you want to. The dial is not accurate when you get to the last few minutes. For instance, set to 3 minutes and it will often stop after 2. Again, you get used to this but it is annoying. The worst thing was the delivery but that is not the products fault. A certain company promised next day delivery but it never arrived. They sent another promise for the next day and the next. We wasted 5 days of our life before cancelling and reordering. The reorder arrived as promised. Summary: Cooks really well. Good luck with delivery!

Don't believe it's actually made by Toshiba
This Toshiba branded microwave is very similar in construction to my 15 year old Tesco one which it replaces as that one has just failed. The Toshiba microwave only has a 12 hour clock, not a 24 hour clock that’s a bit annoying to me as a I like the 24 hour format. It has membrane buttons rather than physical buttons that were on my old microwave. Personally I prefer physical buttons. It’s Made In China and says imported by Midea Home Appliances Ltd which further suggests to me the branding on the microwave is just licenced to make the product more desirable than being non branded. The internal light is amber yellow rather than white and reminds me of the old street lights from the 80s. I like the physical eject button to open the door rather than it having a handle. It is compact in size. Time will tell how long it lasts but construction appears good. I simply chose this model due to its discounted price at the time of purchase and features. I could not find any online company that could offer a better deal at the time I purchased this and also I know Amazon have a very good returns policy.

Smart, powerful, and easy to clean but…

The model I purchased has the manual/knob timer. This is very smooth and needs gripping tightly to turn, plus it doesn’t seem very accurate or reliable for short time periods; setting it to 1:30 the oven stopped after about 30s. It’s a bit better if you turn it past your desired time and then turn it back.

Consider spending a bit more and get the digital model.

For some reason I expected it to be silver but it’s obviously white. Satisfying machanical ‘ding’ when timer finishes instead of an electrical ‘beep’. The ‘ceiling’ inside is flat for easier cleaning than my last microwave. The light only comes on when cooking and stays off if you leave the door open for any condensation to evaporate, which is great.

For me this microwave fits the bill well, digital for accurate timing, a fairly smooth rotation and a variable power range.
I dont see any manufacturer selling their units for this purpose so thought just to add mine.
