How to raise or lower the feed dogs
- Slide the drop feed lever to the feed dogs are up.
- Turn the handwheel toward you (counterclockwise), or press the “Needle Position” button once or twice to re-engage the feed dogs.

Perfection perfectly usable.
I had a Uten sewing machine before and it never gave me an ounce of trouble until I accidentally sewed my thumb into a garment I was just finishing two days before Christmas! However I had taken out the insurance when I bought this machine in May 21 and they were brilliant and very quick at sorting out a settlement figure with which I bought this new Uten machine which is even better than the first one! Totally no moans, no disappointments and no disagreements. I recommend both Uten sewing machines and the item insurance that Amazon offer on purchase.
Wow, just wow
I brought this as a present for someone very special. I had been looking around the Internet at sewing machines worth around 300 and then I found this at almost half that price. It is a far superior machine with more stitches and letters than any other i’d seen and more items such as different feet. The lucky lady hadn’t been on a machine for many years but loved it and picked it up very easily, it is definitely newbie friendly but has enough on it to be used by someone that knows what there doing. Things like self winding bobbins and the ease of a digital display add to the pluses of this amazing machine i brought the extender table extra it cost me 13.99 and was worth every penny as you can see from the picture. If you are looking for a sewing machine that sews more than a few stitches this is the one for sure
Decent machine was a gamble buying as I use Brothers and not heard of these but did some research. I make dog collars and this machine got me out of a pickle after by brother decided not to play. They are now in for repair and service.
A great machine for all.
Although it could be used by a beginner, intermediate or experienced sewers will get the most use our of its features. 13 needle positions for straight stitch. Zigzag up to 7mm. The alphabet font is clear and easy to read and at 7mm high is a good size. The option of altering both stitch lenght and width to decorate stitches really changes the appears thereby increasing the pattern available.
A far better machine than I was expecting for the money unless you want to pay 700+ few have better features.
Uten 2685A sewing machine
I’m fairly new to sewing I bought this machine to replace my LS14 basic machine and I’m so impressed with it, it’s a good solid machine lightweight and so simple to use and quieter than my old one. I’ve only done a few of the preset stitches but it’s taken my basic sewing to the next level I love it, would recommend it to anyone be they new to sewing or a seasoned stitcher. It’s a fantastic machine for a really great price.

I am very satisfied with this machine not had chance to try everything out yet but what I have done is very good. The only thing if anything that I would have liked was the ability to make the letters and numbers a little bit bigger.

I bought this sewing machine to replace my 40+ year old machine, whiich is still usable and so glad I did. It’s amazing, a great replacement. Excellent machine disappointed no extension table
It’s a excellent machine, easy to use just disappointing that it does not come with the extension table that is advertised on the same machine on another site for only a few more pounds.

Since I gave this machine to my wife she has used it quite a few times and enjoys using it.
Questionable
So arrived and had clearly been used due to spool being full and stitched patterns in it, also on further inspection the panel which shows you how to select lettering is missing …and the instruction manual does not tell you how to do this…not happy at all, such a shame
Easy to use
I have been brought up with every type of sewing machine from treadle to full embroidery models and have made curtains, cushions, toys, children’s clothes and school theatre costumes aswell as ball gowns. This will be my 3rd machine. Brilliant.. easy to set up. Looking forward to getting full use of its functions. Would recommend.
Fantastic value
I am over the moon with this machine. I looked at lots of different ones but most that had all the functions i wanted were way out of my price range. The only tip i will give you is that all the fancy stiches must be done on the highest speed otherwise they do not work. Once you have had an hour playing with it you will be set to do all those projects . Enjoy

Amazing all round sewing machine
There were a few mixed reviews for this machine so I was a bit sceptical at first.. I’ve had it for months now and can highly recommend!
Haven’t had any issues – in fact it’s much more reliable than my old machine which was from a much more well known brand.
Great for beginners as Stitch lengths are set automatically when you select a stitch. the machine also stops and beeps if any threads get tangled or if the fabric layers are too thick, this stops you ending up with a mess of tangled threads as would often happen on my old machine.
There are probably more stitches than the average sewer needs, but you definitely have everything you need and there are some fun decorative stitches.
Have used to make bags, jackets, dresses and had a great result every time! Would recommend!

Have only used for one project so far, but I am very pleased so far. Test will be with the more complex pieces but impressed at this point.
Excellent value for money
My last sewing machine was a Newhome 8000, a very expensive machine costing a couple of thousand pounds that used video cards to embroider more elaborate designs as well as the patterns available with this much cheaper machine. Although some of the parts on this cheaper machine are not as solidly made as my previous model, I’m very impressed at it’s capabilities and value for money. I would definitely recommend for beginners and experts alike.

Great machine
This is only the 2nd sewing machine that I have bought, my old one was a very basic model, so treated myself to an upgrade. This machine is wonderful. Sews all fabrics, doesn’t struggle with thicker pieces.

This was an upgrade from my basic Brother machine. I was a little sceptical because of the price but this machine is fab. It’s managed denim, leather and lots of other usually hard to sew fabrics. The embroidery settings are brilliant. So far no problems at all.
Surprising success buy
Sampled 20 of the stitches and the machine works pretty well for the price. Bought to replace my singer machine that I have had for over 25yrs that was slowly dying.
The only issue right now is it is alittle lower than expected, but for the price, I think I can live with that.

What a cracking machine for the money. I’m still just trying it out, but everything is as promised. I love it. With the extending table the work area is huge ( bought that separately). Absolutely delighted with this machine and feel it is very good value for money. I particularly like the fact that you don’t have to use the foot cable and can slow the speed right down for tricky work. It has a lot of features for the price.

I tried it out last night and it worked well. As I’m used to hand cranks with only straight bay I had a whale of a time.
I think as I use it more it will become second nature.
For the price it appears to be excellent value. ( bought extension separately as cheaper than the combined machine).

Bought this on a whim as ordering one from supplier is 40 but this fits perfectly and folds compact for travel. Very happy with this item!

Fab machine sews beautiful .has so many cute stitches aswell (spoilt for choice) I love the start stop button (no tripping over foot pedal wire lol) but like u can use it also and the needle threader is a good send 100% recommend top quality machine
That it works
I like everything about it, it’s lovely and light, very fast and sews beautifully, it does tend to squeak a bit when i reverse sew ,should i oil it somewhere ?
Great machine
I’m really happy with everything about this machine. My favourite part is how you can slow it down for moments that you want to extra careful. I love the overcast stitch and use that lots along with running & zig zag. I found it very simple to get the hang of. Just remember you cannot use stop start if you have the pedal plugged in. It’s amazing value for such a lot of features including automatic needle threader. I reall recommend it for beginners & more experienced sewers. I bought a Necchi which is fab & so powerful but I find it harder to control the speed so find myself on the Uten because of that.

Easy to use, instructions generally good
GREAT VALUE! I am so glad I took the plunge and got this machine – only fault is that the autothreader needed a bit of adjustment to work.( There is a tiny tongue between its ‘claws’, that needs to be positioned so it goes through the eye of the needle) youtube helped me with this. Also the stitch that looked like a boat ended up being an alligator, which was a shame. Broke a needle, easy to change. Bobbin easy to load/ change. Easy to thread. Really good machine, much better than my basic singer. Really fun to use. Have mended loads of clothes with the preprogrammed stitches. Coped with thick layers of denim material and flimsy see-through material equally well.

What a fantastic machine for the low price. I’ve made 5 garments already and love this little work horse. A great starter machine for beginners, easy to use with the option of foot pedal use of button start and stop. It also has a great speed limiter, so you can put your foot down and it won’t take off at high speed. Great to build up your machine confidence. I would highly recommend this machine.

My first computerised sewing machine, threading is the same as any other machine, I’ve just spent an hour or so playing with the many stitches and dogs, flowers,hearts,cars and even more different things it does,it’s quite compact and easy to move around, also had a free cover, stitch picker,needles,bobbins, zipper foot and more,all I would say is read the instructions thoroughly the pictures that go with the instructions are a great help too, just love it, can’t fault i

Excellent customer service dealt with my first machine jamming. Returned and replaced without problem. Replacement machine has been sewn with everyday without incident. Read and keep manual close by as it is excellent for trouble shooting. Love this machine.
Very easy to set up and use
My first computerised machine and I love it. It’s easy to thread, very smooth sewing action and so easy to change stitches. Beginners wouldn’t find this difficult to use. The only problem i have is using the self threader. I still haven’t managed to work it out.
