Having owned this for just over a year I can strongly recommend this vacuum cleaner. I have only required support once in the past year when the battery failed to recharge. One call to the support line and a new battery was sent out within 48 hours of the call. Great service!
The vacuum itself is lightweight and powerful. The brush head does a great job on the carpets and it honestly seems to be as good as our large German-made mains-powered machine.
If I could wish for one thing it would be a slightly longer runtime – at maximum power, it is a bit short. However, it is good enough to do two or three rooms at a time and we use it for the upstairs bedrooms where its light weight is an advantage.
Where do I begin? I have been searching for a solution of irradiating the fur of my long haired fur baby and Vax has seemed to answer my prayers.
At a reasonable price and accuracy with the description I have not a single moan.
Weight is no issue as I feel a normal corded vacuum is much heavier and I was able to clean upstairs and down with plenty of battery to spare. I even got to go over the sofas
100% recommended from my end at an affordable price, decent battery life and pretty does what it says on the ti
It’s a pretty good vacuum cleaner. If you use it with standard suction power then it’s good for everyday cleaning (keep up work basically). They say it lasts 35 minutes like that. If you use full power it won’t last you long (7/10 minutes maybe?). Overall, 4 out of 5 because battery life is on par with others and longer if not using full power. Wish it came with a flexible tube instead of having to buy one.
Was amazed what was still in my carpet despite vacuuming every other day… the suction/power is amazing.
Bought this to replace my dyson V6 pet and so glad I did. Only issue is it is a bit heavy to use compared with my old dyson stick but I suppose I will get used to that. You really notice the extra weight when using as a handheld for stairs so if you have problems with wrists so could be a problem for you.
But if not, go online and buy one today whilst on offer…..
The only negative is the battery life is not that great, but we live in an apartment so it’s perfect for that. When we buy our house I will defo have to invest in a second battery. Picks up so much hair you would never see!
There’s no doubt that it’s on the heavy side but I choose the think of it as a ‘free exercise’ with the weight replacing dumbbells (if I were ever to use such things and, if I did, it would the super light weight girly ones! ).
But what a game-changer! No more lugging the big vacuum cleaner around and having to faff about plugging in the cord, then plugging it in elswhere as it’s not long enough. Instead I can whip around the house quickly with the battery having plenty of capacity to do the rounds.
Good addition to my household.
Pros
Is very lightweight and easy to maneuver
Ideal for cleaning carpets, hard floors, and even furniture.
The battery life is good, allowing to clean multiple rooms on a single charge.
Pet-specific attachments makes cleaning pet hair and dander a breeze.
Doesn’t require any additional bags, which saves money in the long run
Suction boost works good to pick up.
Light on the Floor head is good to look around in dark.
Cons
The dust bin is not that easy to empty.
Hair gets tangled in the rotation head – some work to clean.
Cannot be compared to Dyson or Shark based on the cost and functionality
Overall, havent tried any other brand, and first cordless vacuum, so satisfied with my purchase
The Dyson is much lighter and easier to empty the dust container.
Taking the Vax apart is a bit fiddly. I like the light at the front.
I found it a bit heavy to use on the stairs, it may be ok for someone stronger, but for an older person they may struggle.
Does the same job as more expensive cordless vacuum cleaners.
The battery charge lasts quite well, but if the machine is used on the higher settings it is used a lot quicker.
At first I found replacing the dust collection container tricky to replace, but with practice became it easier.
I find it picks up more dust and small debris than my previous cleaners and is fairly easy to use on the stairs.
Bought from Amazon Warehouse so the packaging was slightly damaged, but the vacuum itself is brand new.
Couldn’t believe how much dirt it sucked up from the carpet!
Battery lasts well if you don’t use the power booster, but you only get one battery so make sure you charge it when it gets down to one bar. The charge process takes a few hours.
Only downside to this vacuum is the weight. After using it for 5-10 minutes my arm starts to ache, so I wouldn’t have thought it would be suitable for the older folk.
Works well for a battery operated cleaner. I use on max power and with brush and get 15 minutes of battery life. Looking at spare battery but expensive at 80 for original product. Not sure about aftermarket alternatives.
Lightweight and easy to use on the stairs. At full throttle, the suction is almost too much!
So happy I stayed with a Vax! Takes up little room and is extremely powerful, so impressed with the suction on hard floors. A great buy!
Reported to vax , how do I return this and get a refund . Disappointing it’s faulty in less than 12 months. The brush head will no longer turn and the noise is overwhelming.
Best vacuum I’ve had. Lightweight and easy to use, store and keep clean. Would highly recommend vax products from the items I’ve had
I would have liked a bit more power. My 15 year old Dyson is as strong. But this is a lot lighter to carry around.
Great little hoover for small jobs. I have four cats and it made short work of hairs caught in rugs and also for my hard floors.
Drum is small and requires a few trips to empty BUT well worth it for the great results.
It is light and easy to handle.
Was a little unsure how this would perform after having used Dyson uprights for a number of years. Have to say i’ve not been disappointed by this Vax. It is so much lighter and easier to use than a normal upright, with virtually the same level of suction, it cleans perfectly.
Battery has just enough power to run on full suction through a large 3 bed house. Will look at getting a 2nd battery sometime, but at nearly 80, will wait until the price hopefully drops.
This is a great vacuum. Purchased for upstairs and it’s lightweight, easy to empty and the suction rivals my corded uprights of a well known brand. I actually prefer to use this one over my downstairs one.
We bought this Vax to keep upstairs so as not to have to carry our Dyson up and down the stairs.
When it arrived we vacuumed the downstairs first with our Dyson, then to see if it was any better immediately went over the same area with the Vax. We were amazed how much it picked up. Since then the Dyson has been confined to the cupboard and only the Vax gets used.
The vacuum really does keep on working at full capacity until the battery is empty.
This is a very good piece of equipme
The suction power on this is amazing and the attachment for the stairs make it easier to clean. Having a separate battery charging port makes it so much easier to store it.
The only downside is the noise it make apart from that a very happy custome
So glad we finally decided to buy a ‘proper’ vacuum. The fact that it’s cordless is great but what’s amazing about this vacuum is the turbo and brush roll settings – the amount of hairs and dust that came up from our carpets was quite shocking! Great to move about and easily gets under hard to reach places. We enjoy doing the hoovering now!
I love my new Vax 4. It takes care of my cat’s fur perfectly. I now find vacuuming a pleasure instead of a chore.
Having purchased and used several cordless vacuum cleaners this is by far the best. Much better than the Air ram, lighter and cheaper than the dyson, and there are others that I have tried. I am absolutely delighted with it!
I had a corded cylinder hoover from Argos which had bad suction on carpets. Vax is Light weight, powerful suction and easy to clean. I have finished my home in 15 to 20 mins. mins.
battery life could be just a bit better, but it’s alright. very good suction power, easy to handle and clean.
Took a bit of getting used to first time using it as it’s so light and swings in every direction ,but Good suction and cleans well and easy to clean could do with two batteries though as to me doesn’t seem to last long.
Still think it’s expensive. But is best vacuum so far for picking up pet hair.
Bit tricky to add the attachments.
The big plus is portability. It does the job on hard floors and carpets. It’s good at approaching walls and cupboards from an angle. I have to spend too much time cleaning out the brush head and untangling things in it.
We purchased this to replace a tiring Dyson V6 animal that we have had for 4-5 years and is showing signs of age and not picking up as well as it used to.
We have a corded Vax cleaner which is excellent so the cordless Vax models were top of the list. We did consider another Dyson but we felt they were overpriced when comparing to the Vax models we’re also planning to get a dog in the new year so the pet version was a good option too.
So, the Blade4, we went for the single battery model on offer at 179.99, we purchased it from Argos as we wanted to be able to collect it rather than have a delivery and with my Argos card I can pay it off over 6 months interest free.
The cleaner comes in a well packaged bundle, easy to open and assemble without the need for any instructions.
The wall mount bracket is handy and stores all but the stair brush attachment.
The battery charged in a little over 2 hours but it is a weighty item and does add to the weight of the cleaner.
Performance is very good, it is powerful and not too noisy, the LED light on the motorised brush is very handy for those darker corners and the onboard power indicator and on/off switch is easy to read and access.
I found that using it to clean floors is comfortable and easy, the brush is easy to move around objects and furniture and it cleans very efficiently moving between carpeted and hard floors with ease.
Using the cleaner with the crevice tool or brush attachment is still easy enough but it does expose the weight of the cleaner itself, not enough to make it difficult to use but certainly enough to make your wrist feel the weight.
The dust collection bin holds a decent amount but will need frequent emptying. The process to empty it is very straight forward with a lid at one end with a quick release catch and if you get any dust or fluff trapped around the filter end you can removed the entire filter section from the top to get it thoroughly cleaned and empty.
The battery holds a good charge and it lasted long enough to do the entire house twice and clean the sofas and even then it still had 2 bars on the battery level display.
The Blade 4 is an excellent choice for us and will suit our needs perfectly, thinking back to when our Dyson was new I’d say the Blade 4 is superior in design, looks and performance and price.
The dual model option Vax offer is just the same model and spec with an extra battery so consider if you want to spend another 50 just to get a second battery.
Also consider ordering direct from Vax to take advantage of their free tools offer, something I wish I’d done now.
I’d say it isn’t suitable for anyone with conditions that make handling such items difficult. We’d considered buying one for my mother in law who has arthritis in her hand and wrist but it would be too heavy for her to hold it.
All in all I’d recommend this cleaner, it offers great value for money and is very good. We’re happy with it and glad we chose to buy one.
Longer battery life than I expected easy to switch tools on hoover does the job perfectly
This hoover is spot on! I have had a shark anti hair wrap cordless hoover, but returned it! It didn’t pick up the hair and kept getting clogged! I also have a Henry hoover for more thorough cleaning. BUT this has by far.. got to be the best hoover I have bought yet!
The suction power is brilliant! Even has a boost button! The amount of dust and dirt it picks up is just brilliant too. It’s as light as it can be really.. I mean.. you put a battery pack in the back of it.. so it’s going to have a little weight to it. But it’s by far the lightest cordless hover I have bought!
I have 2 young girls with very long hair.. and long hair myself. I also have a big Labrador and it literally picks up everything. I manage to do 4 rooms and 2 hallways on full boost with still a little power left (I live in a flat) so I can imagine on the light setting you could get much more out of it. Very handy light on the front of the hoover too. I just can’t fault it at all! You won’t be disappointed if you buy it.
Thought I would add to my review after using it every day for 2 months! Still going strong and no loss of suction. Picture to show how much it actually picks up!!
This is an absolutely amazing piece of kit, I vacuumed my home on Friday using my old vacuum cleaner and did it again today using the Vax Blade 4 pet, I couldn’t believe how much it picked up. I live alone, have no pets and still it picked up so much.
The carpets were new in June and I vacuum a couple of times a week, but this new one is astounding. It’s lightweight, has really good suction even on the lowest setting, the powered brush head works well.
Overall, I couldn’t be happier with my purchase.
I don’t have stairs so cannot make a comment but I have no reason to believe it wouldn’t be equally as good on stairs as the rest of my fla
This vacuum has surprised me. I have always used Dysons for many years but was put off my the price of the cordless. I shopped around for ages and kept coming back to this one and so glad I did my carpets have never looked so good. It is light and easy to use. Suction power is brilliant. Well done Vax
Battery life and charge time is great, we have a long haired black cat and the fur it got up was INCREDIBLE and we had been using a full powered corded henry for ages
So far so good, best I’ve used. Suction is fantastic, works well as a standing unit and a handheld respectively. 3 year guarantee is also a good reason to invest in this model.
This little hoover has amazing suction power. I can do the whole house before the battery runs down. This is the first cordless I’ve had so getting used to the weight being at the top feels strange for awhile but soon got used to it. Amazing value.
Bought as old one dont hold a charge. I also have the vax floor cleaner. Love that both batteries are the same. Longer use. Very light. Excellent suction.
It’s ok battery runs down to quick so will need another one a lot a money for what it is not as light weight as I thought.
Very powerful and cleans really well. You can tell by the amount and size of dust particles it picks up, and makes an oldish carpet look almost new! The smaller pet attachment is good for stairs and the car. It does feel a bit top heavy and a pity it can’t stand on its own (I lean mine into a convenient corner rather than screw the holder into the wall) but these are minor points.
Spent a good while researching cordless vacuums and opted for this make and model and I wasn’t disappointed. My flat is a medium size with carpets in the 2 bedrooms, hallway and kitchen and it’s perfectly adequate power wise and battery life with enough suction to pick up cat hairs and bits of cat litter. Works well in the car. Can’t comment on stair use as I don’t have any
Fantastic suction , picks up the dirt deep down in the carpet that the corded vacuum doesn’t.
An absolutely brilliant little Hoover does everything it says. Excellent for let hairs. Can’t beat it would highly recommend.
Always liked Dyson, but this vax one is amazing, light weight, easy to use, couldn’t be without it now with 3 dogs and a cat. You won’t be disappointed.
Very glad I went cordless and it is good to know the battery will fit other products from Vax.
The only thing I wish I had bought is one with a roller that doesn’t get stopped with hair getting tangled.
Other than that very pleased with product makes life much easier, I had a Henry before.
I researched a lot as wanted a cordless but couldn’t afford to buy a Dyson!
We had a Dyson ball for years and it started to die and I’d wanted a hand held for a long time.
We have 2 cats, so there’s hair everywhere and we moved somewhere with laminate flooring and didn’t realise how many crumbs we make!
This Vax is perfect for just running over the floors quickly, and I love the light! It means you can see along the edges of the kitchen cabinets! It’s great.
The suction is great. It gets all the cat hairs of the sofa and carpets.
It’s great on the stairs too, so much easier than an upright!
I was concerned about the bin capacity, but it’s fine. If I’m doing the whole house on a proper clean I have to empty about 3 times, but we’ve got a 4 bedroom house and I don’t think that’s bad.
The battery will do the whole house in one go or last for over a week if just refreshing the lounge and kitchen areas.
The only downside is I have weak shoulders and this sometimes they ache after using it for a while, and it’s just because the weight is by your hand rather than by the floor. Honestly I’d probably ache after I used any cordless, so I don’t know how it compares to others.
All in all, we are over the moon with it! It just sits in the wall behind the door, its so handy and it works so well!!
I think it’s a bargain for the price! I don’t think that a super expensive one would be that much better!
If you’re still not sure I read the Which Best Buy report and that was really helpful, as well as a lot of product reviews
**UPDATE**
Had a fault with the brush head, (the big one), and after a short conversation via chat with Vax it was replaced within 2 days. SUPERB!
And don’t forget folks, free 3 years warranty registering your Vax.
=====================================================================================
Was very surprised after reading reviews and looking up specs for this Vax.
Could not believe the suction. One comment on here said it was useless, are you using it correctly and not got it on blow? The suction is amazing. Noticed how much hair it picked up and dirt/dust but, was stunned by how much micro particles it sucked up. The room smelled instantly nice to breath in. Like the air was lighter.
Not the lightest weight but, not difficult either. Battery has a good life, super suck is astounding and it has a motorised head with the bristle brush and little lights for hoovering in the dark if you cant resist playing with your new toy. Also has a smaller head for the stairs and furniture etc.
It is not noisy either, just a medium whine a bit like my missus but, don’t tell her.
All in all the best buy we have made with cordless vacuums ever.
One tip, when hoovering the floor keep your arm low and try not to let the vax go upright as it takes the brush end slightly off the floor and it doesn’t work properly. It seems to be designed for max comfort so no need for elbow and shoulder power. Just use your body and walk up and down with your arms down by your side if that makes sense?
10/10 and recommended.
Brilliant cordless hoover, powerful and made extremely well, so much quieter than my fifteen year old vax. Cleans the carpets effortlessly ,no negatives does a fantastic job.
The VAX is easy to use and has a booster power button, for stubborn dirt. The machine can be used with or without the brush roller.
My original general vacuum cleaner was OK but was not very good at picking up cat hair, so I had to do it on hands and knees!
The main power section detaches easily and is very good on carpeted stairs. It is also good cleaning floor tiles and wood plank flooring, my original reason for the purchase.
Excellent product we had the earlier one but this is better.
Very good on hard floor and carpets, picks up dog hair brilliantly, Only dislike is when on full power with brush on its very loud
It is going well. Very easy to use. And I no problem with it and it is cleaning house super.
This vacuum is brilliant! Really light weight, manoeuvres well. And the battery lasts with fantastic suction! Such a great buy, definitely reccomend!
Great little vacuum, attachments are a little hard to swap to begin with but soon loosen to a nice fit, the only downside is the wall stand, a bit flimsy and nowhere to store extra accessoriess
I’m thrilled with this vacuum. The suction power is fantastic so it picks up so much dirt in such a small amount of time. The motorised head boosts the efficiency, and the light is an added bonus when vacuuming under furniture.
Great product great suction good value for money disappointing battery life
Very happy with the quality and power.
Not disappointed spending a bit more for quality.
Bought after reading the rave reviews. This isn’t one of them. On the plus side it’s great on carpets and really does deep suction judging by the amount of dust it removes. Minus points: hubby is a builders so there’s always bits of grit which this will pick but drops back on the floor when you lift it up, extra suction sorts that but wastes battery life. A big minus is that when it does grab anything gritty it can scratch my wooden floor if I’m not aware. I can just about vacuum the whole (average size) house on one charge but need to recharge for extras like tops of skirting boards, blinds etc. It is much lighter than a traditional vacuum but think there must be a particular knack to manoeuvering, which I struggled to master (got a blister the first time I used it). Stairs are a bit problematic, but that’s probably pilot error. The long attachment pipe is also very difficult to remove, unlike the other attachments. Overall, the design and concept is fabulous and compact for storage, but I’m still disappointed as it’s not that cheap
Not excepcionally powerful could be stronger…, but it’s exactly what I was looking for. Lightweight enough for my hands and sucks enough for me to keep my two floor house well vacuumed. To be cordless is a big improvement and it’s very easy to vacuum a little bit every day. And it’s much quieter than I expected.
Found it very good for hard floors and carpets. Does not last very long on full suction power with brissels motor running. Its not very often you need that, as vax is ok without it in most situations.
We previously had a Henry Hoover and we were fed up of dragging it around especially with 3 children and a cat in the house. I came across this cordless Vax, we did previously also have a dyson which broke and always blocked up. I have had this for a week and I am very impressed with the suction but it is quite heavy when using just the head of the Hoover for hoovering crumbs and stairs. It’s lovely having a cordless than messing with cables. I love the fact the battery can be taken off to charge makes it much easier and takes up less space. I do find that hair gets tangled in the brush and you have to take it out and cut it off but I suppose you would do that after a full clean of the house anyway to keep the Hoover well maintained and working correctly. I was looking at other Vax but opted for this one, I like the fact there is also a light so you can see the floor better. Overall I would say it’s worth the money and suits a busy household if you need to do a quick clean up. Battery life is very good and does my 3 bedroom house perfectly too.
I really like this vacuum cleaner. I did buy it at 149 so it was great value. I’m happy to grab this for a quick wizz round a couple of times as day whereas it was a chore to get the Dyson cylinder vac out.
The turbo brush with a light on is very effective on carpet especially on stairs without the long tube. Not too heavy but like all battery vacs it might not suit anyone with weak or arthritic wrists. Make sure the dust cylinder is clicked very firmly into place as mine popped out onto the tiled floor but fortunately didn’t break.
On laminate or wood floors you only need standard suction which makes the battery last longer. With turbo brush and light on I can do 2 x15 minute sessions with a little power to spare. On standard suction 20 mins use only uses one bar from the 4 on the battery. Charging only takes a bit over an hour from empty.
Quite a small cylinder but that keeps it compact. A smaller pet brush is good a getting dog hair from soft furnishings, even the car boot.
I bought it because I have a very effective and reliable Vax steam mop. I like the brand for the quality and hopefully reliability. I registered online for a free 3 year warranty.
Really pleased, purchased the pet version with added turbo brush tools when on offer.
Decided on the Vax4 based on Which reviews which identified this as a star performer best buy for carpets on the medium priced cordless.
Have to say it works brilliantly on carpets and rugs, almost as good as my corded Miele cylinder for general day to day clean.
Seems reasonably well made for Vax which is encouraging.
As usual with Vax though, plastics a little cheaper in feel to some brands, and click together rather than any reassuring clunk, so hoping they hold up over time. Detatching and reattaching the long snork for handheld conversion is tricky and on my one needs a bit of force to both remove and reattach.
A friend has recently purchased the Shark Anti Hair Wrap newest model at circa 200 and by compare I would add that the Shark build is much heavier, robust and with quality metal and plastics that are in a different league to both the Shark predecessor and my Vax Blade4. However, the Shark doesnt come anywhere close to what the Vax can do on carpets so I def made the right choice.
If you have 200-300 to spend and are considering either, I would say if you have hard floors mostly then buy the Shark without question for build quality and capability on hard floors, but if you have some or indeed mostly carpets at home, youd be very disappointed with the Shark results and the Vax in this regard is in a different league on suction. Hope this helps.
Easy to use and lightweight good suction. The battery does not last long on full power but can get about 3 go’s at vacuuming house before I NEED to charge battery Pleased with i
Really surprised at suction power. Easy to use and carry upstairs. Hair does get caught up but had tool from a previous vacuum that aids removal so not too much of a problem.
Really good suction for a small lightweight vacuum. Really impressed with this product and it sits nicely on the wall with the wall bracke
Ever so pleased with this purchase, makes hoovering feel like less of a chore!
The only real issue is hair gets tangled in the rollers and needs to be cut/pulled out each time.
Brilliant Hoover!! we have had this a couple of weeks now and I haven’t got any problems with it. we didn’t want to spend an excessive amount but want something that was cordless and would be easy to move around the house and give us a good hoover quickly, this does the job!
Excellent ,saw it advertised on tv ,and it certainly lived up to the claims,it is the best vacuum cleaner I’ve ever had ,one small criticism is on full power it really runs the battery down ,but it does charge quickly if your after a cordless vacuum this should be on your list to buy
I’ve had a few handheld vacuum cleaners and this is the best I’ve come across. Don’t think this is just for pet owners however, as the added suction really gets out dirt that other cleaners can’t lift.
In the box, you’ll find the main unit, extension rod, standard head, pet hair head, crevice tool and brush tool, as well as the charger and wall mount.
The cleaner is slim and lightweight. It is easily moved around and light enough to be lifted to reach ceilings and high shelves. The adaptability of the cleaner means that is useful as a main cleaner for carpets throughout the house and also as a handheld for stairs, cars etc. In fact once you’ve cleaned the stairs with one of these, you won’t ever want to use a cylinder or upright for it again.
The suction is as good as you’ll get on a modern cleaner of this class. As well as ‘on’ there are two other modes that can be used in conjunction with it: a boost mode and powered head mode. On ‘boost’ mode it pulled dirt out of my carpets that other cleaners had left – including my previous Vax. With the head powered the brush roller engages and a powerful light illuminates the carpet, this gives you a bit of extra momentum when pushing the vacuum forward, though you’ll need to lift it to go back again. I found that sometimes the extra suction boost gave made the cleaner difficult to move, as it adhered to the carpet and needed the head to be powered to get it moving. All of these features work with the Pet Head, which is a scaled down version of the main head, but without the light. I think the principle with the pet head is that the same amount of air is moving through a smaller space, increasing its effective force.
This cleaner comes with a higher capacity battery, which comes in really handy when you need to spend some time shifting difficult to move pet hair. It is certainly enough to last an entire session, when I feel moved to clean the carpets. Obviously, the larger the space, the more likely you are to run out of battery, but the whole thing is so light, that getting it out for a quick once over a couple of times a week isn’t a major chore.
The dirt collector isn’t massive and will require frequent emptying and sometimes fluff build-up can get caught between the filter drum and the interior wall of the collector, which is fiddly to remove.
Very happy with this product.
Have had similar but want half the machine that this one is .
I had done quite a lot of research before purchasing a cordless vacuum. Dyson has a good reputation where vacuum
cleaners are concerned but they are so expensive. I have had a Dyson vac they do have good suction but they can
be cumbersome to use so when I replaced it I did not choose Dyson I chose a shark which is brilliant. I needed a cordless to whip around and do the job speedily. I was not prepared to pay an eye watering amount to do this, so
after much research I decided to get a Vax Blade 4 Pet cordless vacuum, I also purchased the pro kit (extra tools)
I have a dog so these would be super usefull. This vac was more than I dared to hope for at a fraction of the price
of a Dyson. The suction is really powerfull you can change from hard floor to carpet at the press of a button (not
with a dyson). It`s extremely manoeuvrable and so comfortable to use and lightweight. Attaching tools easy, emptying easy. The suction remains the same even if the battery is running down. There is a button to increase
the suction but I doubt if it ever would be used. If you do use it the battery runs down quicker. I did have the opportunity to try a Dyson and yes it`s good no difference in suction, but it did make my arm ache, and it comes
with a hefty price tag ! I would recommend this cordless to anyone, the battery life is good I can do my entire
house and have battery to spare, the battery charges up really well. I cannot fault this cordless vacuum in my opinion it is as good as the Dyson in some areas better. So in a nutshell go for the Vax or go for a name.
[update] having owned this a couple of months it does a great job but we must have been one of the unlucky ones as the battery is definitely faulty and isn’t charging properly, given the price of a battery it’s very disappointing. [update]
Ok, having owned a Dyson for over 7 years and very happy with its performance I was reluctant to change. So why did I, simple, the cost of a Dyson is eye watering so I started looking for an alternative. I am not disappointed the Vax is truly brilliant and out performs the Dyson in every way. Putting it together was 3 simple clicks, the battery capacity is more than adequate to do 5 rooms and a staircase and charges back to full in a few hours. Suction power is incredible, there is no need for the suction boost but if you use it it’s awesome. Emptying is a whole lot easier than a Dyson. The only thing I would point out is the weight is more to the handle grip and this will take a little getting used to but you will quickly appreciate how this makes a huge difference to manoeuvrability. You won’t regret buying this OnePwr Blade4.
bought this for ease of use my wife is disabled so easy and light to use. does the job. though not so good with short attachment for cleaning the car. would recommend
The Vax ONEPWR Blade 4 is a very nice vacuum cleaner. It is lightweight and makes it nice and easy to grab and clean the areas that need a quick once over. Ideal for the kitchen area. The nice thing about cordless vacuum like the Vax ONEPWR Blade 4 is that they make life a little easier. I keep the Vax ONEPWR Blade 4 upstairs. It allows me to quickly manoeuvre around the house quickly and vacuum the dust.
It is light and it also charges quickly. A very handy piece of equipment. It has multiple attachments and a pet brush which you can attch and it makes cleaning stairs , upholstery a breeze. It is also handy for the car, so that is a bonus. Only downside is the battery, if it came with a spare, it would have been a clincher; so you can charge one, while using the other. It’s only a minor niggle.
Overall, a great purchase.
I find this cordless vacuum easy to use and relatively lightweight. It is easy to empty and to change tools. I bought the additional toll set and a second battery but I am considering buying a 3rd battery, it uses a lot of battery when picking up dog hair. I recommend the VAx Pet Cordless.
Streets ahead of old-fashioned vacuums for performance and ease of use.
The only thing is I have tried to contact customer service and they haven’t replied for my warranty number – nothing wrong with the vacuum cleaner though
Really good. I’m boost literally sucks the carpets up. A bit too heavy but battery will do a full 4 bed house in one go.
My first cordless vac
Works extremely well
Easy to use
Owning more than 1 cat – and they seem to be casting hair all year round – I was looking for a robust and efficient cleaner….this machine ticks all the boxes. I’ve had 2 Dysons in the past and unlike those this machines’ battery lasts for a whole week – cleaning sometimes twice a day thanks to those felines!
This is the best cordless vacuum cleaner I’ve ever used. It feels strong and has a turbo button that practically drives itself around the room. It gets deep into carpet and picks up between the slats of wooden flooring. It’s top-heavy in use but you get used to it because it’s light and easy to wheel around.
The price tag is eye-watering but it’s got the energy of a plug-in cleaner so I can understand. I just hope it’s got the durability too. It will be gutting if something this expensive gives up after a few months like a previous one did. I will update this review if that happens, but for now after about a month of daily use, it’s the perfect hoover!
We have a dog and it’s easy to clean up after grooming. The canister empties easily too, albeit a bit dusty. There’s not much to choose between this and the earlier Vax 3 model but of the two, I prefer this – maybe it’s psychological because this is the latest. They both pick up pet hair amazingly and so long as you keep on top of it, the brush heads are straight-forward to clean.
The only downside is that you have to remove the battery to charge it. It’s not the biggest problem if you set up a charging station next to where you mount the Vax on the wall. It doesn’t stand by itself so the included wall mount is a must.
We have been comparing the Vax Blade 3 Pet with the Vax Blade 4 Pet for a couple of weeks and found them both very good performers with the Vax Blade 4 Pet just having the edge. The new Vax Blade range also includes the standard Blade 3 and Blade 4, which don’t feature the motorised pet tool, and may be a cheaper option if you don’t have pets. Both Blade 3 models feature Vax’s ONEPWR 3.0 Ah battery, whilst the Blade 4 models have the larger ONEPWR 4.0 Ah battery — all ONEPWR batteries are interchangeable and are charged off the machine in a dedicated charger. This method of charging the battery off the machine is less convenient than with some other popular cordless cleaner models but it does allow you to keep a spare battery ready to go and makes replacing a worn out battery a lot easier — I like this feature. Apart from the larger battery, which gives a slightly longer runtime, the Blade 4 Pet features a brushless motor controlled by a 32 bit micro-processor using Vax Core Technology for the best performance and efficiency — the Blade 3 doesn’t have this feature.
The new Vax Blade range is well thought out and offers some serious competition to the more well-known brands in this market of rechargeable wand-style cordless vacuum cleaners. However, this type of top-heavy design has some niggles and won’t stand up freely without being clipped into the wall mount. The dust container is small and needs regular emptying and, although fairly lightweight the position of the dust container at the top of the handle is not very ergonomic and makes the machine less manoeuvrable than a regular cleaner. After comparing both Vax Blade Pet models with our regular vacuum cleaner for a couple of weeks we have been converted to this new design and the features included – the ease of use far outweighs any drawbacks. The original Vax Blade has been around for a couple of years and is still available from Amazon — but the new Blade 3 & 4, with their Pet variations, offer better performance and features. The Blade 4 Pet is the best performer in the range and at around two hundred and sixty pounds currently from Amazon offers some serious competition to the likes of Dyson and Shark. At around two hundred and twenty pounds the Blade Pet 3 is a cheaper alternative and offers only slightly less than the 4 so is also worth serious consideration. Both models are also available from Amazon with an additional battery included, and spare batteries can be purchased separately as and when required. Vax has priced the Blade range to be competitive and with a three year guarantee seem to be confidant about the build quality — the style takes a bit of getting used to but for features and value the Vax Blade 3 & 4 Pet models both deserve five stars.
After having upgraded from canister vacuums to these upright, stick vacuums, I’ve gained a newfound appreciation for them.
For one, this is quite light and can access the hard to reach areas that a normal, canister vacuum may not be able to reach. It isn’t restricted by a hose which makes it easier to move around.
While it is advertised as a pet vacuum, it can still be used as a normal vacuum cleaner, which does a great job.
It is easily detachable to turn this into a hand-held vacuum, which doesn’t weigh as much either.
This is a battery powered vacuum which, when fully charged, can last up to 45 minutes but this depends on what mode is used. This may not seem like a long time but if you only have a small area to clean, it is more than enough. It has a similar battery life to my current Shark vacuum with which I can fully clean the house.
It has a LED indicator on the top of the handle to show the remaining battery. If used on the normal setting, I’d say each bar would average at least 10 minutes so it’s a nice way to determine whether the battery needs to charging.
The suction is quite powerful – it easily sucks up dirt from my carpets and usually doesn’t leave much behind. Unless the motorised brush is active, it does sometimes struggle with things caught in the carpet.
In terms of noise, it certainly is less noisier than traditional canister vacuums. Obviously, using the max function will increase the noise as it is using more power to suck up the dirt.
This is easy to clean as the bin is removable from the main unit. It’s a simple case of opening the lid and dumping the contents into the bin.
However, comparing this to my Shark vacuum, I found that this gets filled up quite quickly and needs to be cleaned regularly so it might not be ideal for those who feel the need to vacuum all the time.
If you have pets, sometimes the hairs will get stuck in the brush so you will need to untangle them which can be a bit annoying and time-consuming. This doesn’t affect the suction but can be a problem if left for long. It may not effectively be able to pick up tangled bits and pieces in the carpet.
Overall, regardless of whether you own pets or not, this works a treat and does a brilliant job. For those that do own pets, it will help to reduce the amount of hair around with the tools provided.
I’ve had a Dyson vacuum for as long as I can remember so when I got the chance to try a Vax I was intrigued to see if it could equal or better my favourite brand.
I originally bought a cordless vacuum as a supplement to my corded one but I find it so convenient that I rarely use my other one.
The Vax is noticeably heavier than the Dyson, which I think is due to the larger battery. The Vax will last a lot longer, which I think is worth the extra weight as the thing that bugs me most about the Dyson is the fact I have to constantly charge it.
The best thing about the Vax is the fact that I don’t need to constantly press a trigger to keep it running. The Vax has 3 different buttons, on/off, a button to start the brush head rotating and one to boost the suction power. This is so much better than having to vacuum for 20 minutes whilst constantly having to press a trigger, I find this rather painful as I have arthritis in my fingers so the Vax wins big time over the Dyson on this point.
There’s a battery indicator so you know exactly how much charge is left, unlike the Dyson which just dies without much warning.
The dirt bin unclips really easily and then a press of a button opens the bottom. Compared to my Dyson this is a breeze, the Dyson is harder to empty and I find myself accidentally pressing the trigger while I try and empty it!
I’ve found that the Vax picks up more debris than the Dyson, noticeably so on my thick rug in the bedroom, which the Dyson hates and it used catch on the brush bars and stop them turning.
Being able to run the vacuum without the brush bars turning is great for laminate floor or tiles, it picks up every piece of cat litter without throwing it everywhere, the Dyson just flings it around.
The tool holder that clips on the pipe is really handy, my crevice tool is always there when I need it, I usually have to carry it round in my pocket!
There is an option to have a spare battery, you just upclip the flat one and replace it with a fully charged one but they are really expensive, 80, so I don’t think I’ll be investing in one of those any time soon.
I’ve vacuumed my house 3 times now, I’m only just putting the battery on to charge and I turn the brush bar on for most of the rooms.
Comparing the Vax and Dyson has been an eye opener, Vax is better on most points, the only thing that’s better about the Dyson is that it’s a bit lighter but I’m converted now and I’ve already sold my Dyson, there’s no room in my house for both and Vax wins by a knockout.
Hope you found my review helpful
This Vax ONEPWR BLADE 4 Pet Cordless Vacuum Cleaner with Motorised Pet Tool is as impressive as the name is long.
Unpacking the vacuum cleaner and then laying out all the parts that need to be put together can seem a bit daunting at first. However the design is such that the assembly can be done without needing to look at the instruction manual, it is all logical which is a sign of a good design. It takes little time to be up and running.
Once out of the box it should take you no more than a few minutes to put together. Charging takes a little time, but it is a decent sized battery and gives a good 30-40 minutes of runtime. Also note that the battery is interchangeable with other cordless products in the same range.
A vacuum cleaner sells itself by its performance, it can look good, be flash but the bottom line is how well it cleans the carpets. The dog hair test is all well and good, but I like to test by running our older vacuum cleaner over a test area of the carpet first then see if there is anything this Vax can do better. Overall I was impressed, it’s probably down to the revolving brush head but it picked up what our other vacuum cleaner didn’t.
I’d not recommend it for cleaning the car. With the smaller tools added on it can be a little rear heavy and in the small space of a car a little too bulky. You’d be better off using the normal hose you have with a standard vacuum cleaner.
As I have mentioned before it has good balance when using it with the longer stem, but add the small attachments and it feels less wieldy, heavier and less balanced and you will need a little strength in your wrists.
The attachments are what you would expect with he added bonus of a small revolving head part that is good for the stairs.
In normal use it has a light to show you the way. The controls are easy to use though a little sensitive and prone to accidental operation. the controls have a very light touch. The power can be boosted to increase suction but this will be at the expense of the runtime.
Compared to my previous cordless vacuum, it has a bigger cylinder for dirt, the battery lasts longer, the revolving brushes really do give the carpet a good clean, it is balanced in the hand and it feels significantly more robust.
There are a couple of small downsides. It is a little heavier so you might want to try before you buy to check if you can wield it around. The weight is no deal breaker as once it is in operation it’s not a gym workout to use it. The battery does take a little time to fully charge and the battery is removed for charging.
All in all a very satisfactory vacuum cleaner that works well and I like it.
With a hedonistic labrador/golden retriever cross careering around the house, this Vax “for pet” (sic) cordless vacuum is an absolute godsend.
I cannot impress enough how lightweight this is. My mother in law had a go on her last visit and and has ordered one. She does not like heavy lifting. She could virtually throw this thing up the stairs!
The blade modes were confusing at first, with a button that can turn off the “rollers” which facilitate vacuuming on carpet. This is a perfect mode for hard floors. The suction is good. The vac is super quiet, which is brilliant when I’m bored at 5am. The separate attachment is perfect for the stairs and works well.
The separate battery, rather than having to mount the vacuum or dock it into a charger, is brilliant. It charges quickly (perhaps just under an hour) and lasted for a good 20/30 minutes before needing a charge, which is perfectly fine for me.
I’ve been enslaved by the power lead for so long that using this Vax was like setting foot in another dimension, it is almost perfect and it pains me to not give it a perfect five out of five, the positives are many, it is easy to assemble and is extremely powerful, it gives a nice clean wherever it goes and although noisy is not so noisy as to be off-putting.
The negatives are minor things that only frustrate a little bit, such as not being able to use the stand as it is quite wide so it is not able to stand, the dust filter does not seem to come out so it is a little fiddly to get in there and clean it and the price for me is maybe 50 too high, but that is just me,
But this is easily an almost five star review and as I said it saddens me to only give it 4 and three quarter stars.
I’m pleased with this vacuum.
Out of the box it is easy to set up and put together – all quite intuitive.
The battery needs charging upon arrival and this will take several hours. The battery is charged externally from the vacuum – so you don’t plug a charging cable into the vacuum itself.
In use, it does suck up the dust and dirt very effectively and with a very decent amount of suction. The extra head works well to get the hairs off the dog bed.
What I would say is that it is significantly heavier than the design cordless vacuum I own.
But overall it does a good job and will get a lot use in our household.
I gave this a little while before writing my review so I could really get to grips with it and decide whether it’s worth the price tag as I don’t usually spend over 100 on any vacuum.
I would also normally use a corded model, as they tend to have better suction and there are no worries of them running out. I’ve chosen to keep this vacuum upstairs to save me lugging my massive George around and my back thanks me for it. Once fully charged the run time is plenty long enough to get the whole of the upstairs finished. I like the boost button that spins the brush inside the head and you can really feel the suction when you use it, but it does drain the battery quickly when using this particular mode.
As with all hand-helds, although fairly straightforward to empty, I will need to be emptied often as it doesn’t hold a lot of debris.
Overall it’s a great vacuum but I think the price could be more reasonable, under the 200 mark.
This is an excellent cordless vacuum cleaner. It comes with various attachments that enable this to be used easily in a car and on furniture, as well as on the floor. The most useful one for us though is the special attachment for dealing with pet hair. We have a very fluffy cat who sheds a lot of hair and this works very well – so efficient in lifting hairs from the carpets and furniture.
This is bagless vacuum cleaner. It is extremely easy to detach the section that collects the dust, pet hairs etc, and it is very easy to empty and then re-attach. The accessories are also very easy to change over.
There are three speeds of vacuuming to choose from – easily controlled by pressing a button as shown in the video.
The battery is light. Importantly it doesn’t take long to charge even when it needs a full recharge, and then lasts for around 45 minutes of continuous use.
Highly recommended
I have reviewed a number of handheld vacuum cleaners for the Vine programme. There have been the past Vax machines which are cheap and poorly made. There are the G Tech, Shark and Dyson models which can be expensive but good. This VAX product is priced at the higher end of the machines I have tested and I doubt very much that the 200+ price will stay at that level very long. Vax has a tendency to overprice their products at launch, to discount them a few months later. This product is good, but not worth 200+ when it is compared to the premium brands.
This is very comfortable to hold and powerful handheld cleaner. It weighs about 2.5Kg which is almost 0.9Kg heavier than a similar Hoover machine I recently tested. If you need to get into tight situations or to hoover around a corner or under a bed, where the size of the unit would block access, you simply attach the nozzle attachment. Whilst it is not super slim, it can help reach those corners. There is a large brush and a small brush, that can be attached. It is missing a very narrow tube-like nozzle which many other brands give you. You would use the nozzle attachment for things like hard floors, skirting boards pet fur and edges of car seats etc so it seems stupid to leave it out.
As a handheld unit it is superb, lots of suction, quite a large dust/debris chamber. There are few similarities with the Hoover and the Dyson, as this unit uses cyclone technology. This means that as the dust chamber fills up, you get a very small loss of suction. Overall for the size of the unit, it offers probably one of the best handheld vacuums I have tested. The problem is the price is too high for a VAX. The unit appears to be well made and so far, we have had no real issues with the product. The guarantee it comes with is utterly useless. We had an issue with a past VAX product and it had a 6-year warranty. It was simply too powerful and the carpet was being damaged. Their CS could not care less and were not interested in looking at it nor replacing it. So just a word of warning VAX CS is not the same as Meile nor Dyson who bend over backwards for their customers if anything goes wrong. The head agitates hairs and dust and it does pick up very well. Overall its a good but over-priced product.
Would I recommend it? Not at this price. Wait for a little time to pass and watch the price drop. It is very plasticky and I know VAX Customer Service is not the best. So it is a good product backed by a company who has been found wanting in the past. Recommended with caution.
The world of vacuum cleaners is a crowded market and with the welcome introduction of the cordless type
even so. Accordingly the competition is strong with each manufacturer providing features all designed to
eliminate dust and dirt. I was pleased to test this Vax ONEPWR Blade 4 Pet Cordless Vacuum Cleaner and I have
done so over ten days.
Out of the box -it assembles very easily. Took about five minutes. I liked the fact that there is a firm ‘click
into place. Unassembly, when you are changing the many tools provided is equally hassle free.
The battery does take just short of four hours to ‘charge up’ initially. That’s all it takes and you can start
vacuuming. The lowest bar in terms of cleaning can be used for the not too difficult areas or stubborn
parts. For more intensive suction, you merely press the next bar and so on. It is particularly effective in
removing stray pieces of fabric or pet hair.
A massive plus is that it is lightweight -so it is easy to convey around the home not that its structure
is weak it is definitely not. It is constructed with principally aluminium with the dust container a transparent
plastic. The dust container I found it easy to empty -no problem whatsoever and straight into a bin. In fact
a lot easier than other brands I have used.
The motorised brushless tool is good and again provides extra time as it will not get bits and pieces entangled
as it cleans.
I found that the suction is highly efficient especially when you consider that it is a cordless cleaner. There was
no drop in performance throughout. There is though a marked increase in noise as you scale up the suction.
It can be used on all types of floor.
It comes with a simple device which is attachable to a wall for storage -saving space.
I liked the detachable handheld section was ideal for the stairs and car.
Overall there were no shortcomings and I particularly looked with a critical eye on performance, whether
it was user friendly and it’s all round flexibility. It was given a tick on each of those important factors.
I love this Vax cordless vacuum cleaner. It came all neatly and tightly packed in a box in separate pieces but it was easily put together, no trouble at all, you do get a leaflet telling you how but you don’t really need that. This Vax vacuum cleaner is very powerful indeed. The blurb states that it’s proven to clean carpets better than the UKs top 3 best selling vacuum cleaners and I believe that. It’s very light to carry around too. There is a special motorised tool for the picking up of pet hair, which works very well. That is very useful, wish I had that when we had our white labrador, perfectly lovely dog but my goodness, she was hairy, took me ages with my old vacuum to get to all the hairs every morning. We had a blue carpet but it would turn cream if the dog was in the room. We have two tiny dogs now a chihuahua and a yorkie, they are not nearly as bad for loosing hair, one quick going over with the vax vacuum in the mornings and the carpet looks as new. I absolutely love it. I must say about the light at the front, it shows up the dirty bits as you go so you can’t possibly miss them. The only reason I only gave 4 stars was because you have to hang it on the wall, it wont stand up by itself, that’s the only fault I can find . the inside of a cupboard would be ideal. I do love this Vax vacuum cleaner. Recommended
The closest thing I have before testing is the Dyson V6 absolute which was my first cordless vacuum and it costed me nearly 400. This Vax Blade 4 is newer and comes in nearly 150 cheaper. During my review I will be making some comparisons between the two but for now let’s talk about what you get.
Out of the box
You get a quick start guide which is just that, everything packed away neat and tidy into the box which also makes it simple to put back (should you ever need to) Like most cordless upright vacuums this comes in three parts as standard. You have the motor which has a detachable dust container. Then you have the long tube or “Reach Wand” and the Powered Floorhead also a Pet Mini Tool. What else is included which I was not expecting is a Dusting Brush, Crevice Tool and wall mount. The battery is detachable and comes with a charger.
Battery
One heavy beast and this is what makes the vacuum heavy. It’s nice having a battery you can take out and charge, I never used the wall mount and charger for my Dyson so personally this way works better for me. It charges within a couple of hours and discharges in approx. 45 minutes if you don’t use any of the other settings. There are three buttons on the vacuum, 1st is on, 2nd is for the movement of the brush bar and 3rd is a boost button. Honestly, like my Dyson you will mostly use the max setting and you will need the spinning brushes and this will deplete the battery in under 20 minutes.
What I do love is there is a battery level on the vacuum which is 4 lights (thumbs up for that) and also a battery level on the battery itself which is brilliant.
Dust Container
Sid one and very bulky. Max level is very low and it won’t take long getting there so make sure you empty before you go over that max level because once you do it makes the dirt harder to remove. Anything under the max level just easily falls out. There is a cloud of dust when you do this so make sure you are close to or even inside the bin when you empty.
Powered Floorhead
Works better when moving, you will pick up dirt when it’s not but using the powered movement of the brush bar will collect so much more dirt especially on carpet. There is a light on the end which is great for seeing under sofa’s or any dark place.
Extremely light, may be too light! Its sometimes hard to keep down with quick movements and isn’t as mobile as the Dyson which has a track ball instead of wheels. Turning sharply isn’t smooth and can be frustrating. However, it will get very flat meaning under beds and sofa is a breeze (so long as it’s a straight action.
Dusting Brush and Crevice Tool
Added bonus getting these, I don’t tend to use the dusting brushes however, for the sake of review I quite enjoyed it and might use it in future, especially great on the banister and frames. The Crevice tool is probably my second most used tool on a vacuum, especially great for corners and inside of a car.
Pet Tool
Pretty much a miniature Floorhead. Great for use on sofa’s, mats, mattress. Collects a lot of dirt and just like the floorhead takes advantage use of the powered brush bar button. Amazing at picking up hair.
Pro’s and Con’s
Pros
– Battery level on machine and battery
– Detectable battery, means you can have a spare.
– Picks up a lot of dirt
– Easy to empty
– Cost
Cons
– Scratches Easy
– Heavy
– To detach the wand and ends can be problematic
– Dust fragments seem to get on the vacuum while in use
Vs Dyson
The Dyson is a lot lighter and easier to use for stairs. The Vax got very heavy by the time I got to the top of the stairs and I’m not a small lad. The Vax’s battery level is handy so you know when you are close to the end of the battery life whereas the Dyson gives me a couple of seconds which is annoying when in my use. The Dyson is quieter and manoeuvres easily, the attachments come apart easily whereas the Vax can be problematic. I even had issues detaching some of the parts which is saying something. The Vax can be loud especially in small spaces and isn’t as mobile.
The vax collects more dirt which is its main advantage and selling point and it’s a lot cheaper.
Verdict
While the Vax certainly isn’t perfect in any way it compares well against one of the businesses top companies at a more affordable price. The main selling point is the amount of dirt it collects. It lasts longer and the detectable battery means you can have a spare just in case. On the flip side it is more bulky and heavier meaning stair cases can be an issue for some people, it’s not as mobile either. I personally like the trigger on the Dyson over the on off button of the Vax but that’s me. You may also find people prefer the charging wall mount of the Dyson over the battery separator but again that’s personal preference.
I like the Vax however, while it does have it’s issues it does what I want it to do and that’s collect dust. It’s easy to empty and it lasts a little longer. The weight and the mobility I can get used to. It’s time for me to move on from my old Dyson so I will be sticking with the Vax.
I had previously avoided this type of hoover based on the experience of friends who had a similar (but another brand). So I decided to try this version to compare with the the VaxAnimal ‘upright’ that I already have which I am impressed with.
Incidentally I have two cats so a ‘pethair’ Version was going to be useful.
Comes in good box and actually the packaging is quite informative of the different attributes of the cleaner.
Very easy to put together and I quite like the shorter handle that allows you to clean the stairs.
Took about 3 hours to charge the battery pack. Also handy that comes with a wall bracket for good storage.
The dust casing fits neatly below the handle.
Switch on to clean flooring or short pile carpet and the function is very good.
Switch on the rotating brushes and the cleaner comes ‘alive’
The power is intense it actually pulled the carpet from the floor.
Cleaned extremely well and importantly raised the pet hair very well – was very apparent on the brushes
Compared to the other ‘hand helds’ and ‘uprights’I think this is an impressive cleaner.
One important point is that the cleaner is very light in weight this makes the action of cleaning easy for someone elderly or someone disabled who make struggle with a heavy cleane
My carpets have never been so clean!
This machine is very easy to assemble with a satisfying click when parts are attached. For the run time of the battery, it charges fairly quickly. Under 2 hours from empty. On the normal suction level it’s fairly quiet in use and also very efficient, even when the brushes are not engaged. We have a mix of hard flooring and carpets and it’s worth reading the instructions and not engaging the brushes on hard floors. You won’t need them.
On carpet the brushes are super. I often have trouble removing small snippets of cotton from the landing carpet as they travel out from my sewing area. With my old cleaner, which is a decent model, I need to get down and pick some of them up by hand. This makes short work of the finest threads, as well as hairs – pet and people – that tangle in a carpet. On the boost mode, it’s a little noisier but nothing like the cleaners of my youth. This really pulls dust and fibres from the carpet.
It’s easy to remove the dirt container for emptying, but you will probably need to open both ends as things get sucked past the rubber divider. As with all modern ‘stick’ cleaners, the box will need emptying regularly. This is a necessary evil to have a light-weight, manouevrable machine and I find all models of this type are the same. The other tools fit and work well.
All in all, this is a brilliant cleaner of its type and I was most impressed by its efficiency.
This is my first branded cordless handheld vacuum cleaner so can’t compare it to any other vacuums apart from corded ones like Henry.
Im in love with this cordless vaccum cleaner.
You can tell just from looking at it how quality it is.
All the parts, attachments are made with great quality materials with smooth finish and thoughtful design. It’s just beautiful, the colour wise and the design wise.
The parts clicks to each other so easily without using force or without parts coming undone while in use. It’s very clear how to use this vacuum and how to change attachment, empty the dust compartment. Any instruction is not needed for that. Even the spinning brush bar can be removed and cleaned from hair.. that’s really helpful for pet owners and people with long hair at home.
Vax Blade 4 is a bit heavy for one hand operation, but its understandable as it’s made with quality parts, not cheap plastic. However it’s easy to manoeuvre it around furniture and underneath of it. The main floorhead goes flat and easily fits under the bed, cupboard, table etc.
With extra power button the brushes starts to operate and light comes on the main floorhead so we can see what’s underneath the bed and we can quickly remove all dust and hair from there.
Noise is not to loud in my opinion, is much better than my corded vacuum which is extra loud though.
One important thing I want to say is about the battery life. On normal cycle after fully charged, vacuum works for just over half an hour but with use of power button, battery drained after just 10 minutes.. that’s a bit disappointing to be honest. Without additional battery it can be tricky to vacuum the house on full power in one go.
I’m thinking to buy additional battery to make this work my way.. Using the extra power, Vax vacuum collected lots of sand and dust left over after normal vacuuming so the extra power is so helpful to do the job at once with piece of mind.
After connecting battery to charger, after 3 hours vacuum was all ready to use..There is light indicator flashing, showing the progress of the charge. Charger is not wall mounted, can only be placed on the floor/table to charge battery and then packed away in drawer for example.
I dont mind having the charger separately from vacuum wall holder. It is solution for people who dont have space to hang the vacuum on the wall with wall holder connected to battery charger. Not every storage cupboard have wall socket installed..
By the way, the vacuum is extra quality, but the wall mount is not as good as I would expect from Vax.. I will not have option to use it any way but others who have space, may also be a bit disappointed by it.
I like the small headfloor attachment for use in stairs, plus the other 2 small attachments helps to clean harder to access places.
This vacuum indeed makes big difference to house hygiene, gives comfort of being cordless, makes less noise. Its literally lifted up my carpet’s fibres so imagine its power.. its lifts up dust and dirt from in between.
Vacuum works extra smooth and easy on hard flooring.
I would recommend this vacuum but we will need one extra battery if we have pet at home and need to use power button more often..
