After many air purifiers, finally found one that actually does work.
So I’ve tried two Leovit’s and BlueAir but none actually seemed to work. But this one works and works quiet. It’s a bit large fella so make sure you have space.
I do have a very problematic room that there’s always dust. Even I do dust off the table and floors clean, then there’s always dust accumulated in a few hours. A day later it’s like not being dusted for about a few days. So after getting this purifier I don’t have any more dust problems. The only gripe is the fabric filter in front it. I can literally see how much dust that is being accumulated and it’s not a ‘clean’ look. But I’d rather to have those dust standing there instead in my lungs.
Note that I’m in a fairly small room and air purifiers marketed like camping material. Any numeric values, needs to be divided two. For example if it’s stated that it cleans 100m2 room, it actually cleans 50m2 room – like how a single person barely fits in a double tent.
Very quiet, excellent air-turnover and minimalist design.
I decided to upgrade to a larger air purifier, as my smaller one didn’t seem to do much and was overly noisy.
This Winix Zero N is a sizeable unit, but the payoff is having a much larger air intake and fan. The larger the fan, the quieter they are in my experience.
On sleep mode I cannot hear it, even when positioned 1.8m away from my bed. It also features a particulate sensor (that requires periodic cleaning) to analyse dust in real time. So the unit will increase or decrease it’s suction based on environmental contains of the room.
The colour changing light (blue: good, amber: fair and red: poor) indicates the quality of the air. But do not that this light is quite bright. But when set on auto mode, that light will turn off (with the exception of a dim mode led light/s when the room is fairly dark) because it has a ambient light sensor.
Performance so far seems excellent. Less allergens in my room means less asthma symptoms. The activated carbon filter (four included – lasts three months each) removes food smells and outdoor odours that creep into my bedroom. So overall my room feels and smells fresh. I would really recommend this air purifier – it’s one of the quietest and best performing one to date.

It’s a good device and the air feels much nicer. Noise isn’t much of an issue in low mode. It’s powerful and creates good draft in the room. Only gripe with it is that the LED light is way too bright. It lights up the room basically. Also it does this stupid jingoe when you turn it on and off. No one needs a 5 second tune when turning an applicable on and off

I’ve been endlessly sneezing with my eyes itching for a week since Spring kicked in, and finally decided to do something. Got this slightly big baby, super easy to assemble, looks nice – turned it on max mode for a while and my symptoms have gone away COMPLETELY. Even the air around it smells fresh! Now I’ve settled on auto mode, which is ultra-quiet at the lowest power level (I can barely hear anything from it). Really, really satisfied with the product and I’m so glad I don’t have to take any anti-histamines anymore.

A bit temperamental.
It’s in my internal bathroom (no daylight) and because I have an extractor fan (not in use) which has a back flow of polluted air, traffic fumes and airborne particles of asphalt, worn tyres ( I live on an arterial road in the Midlands) I purchased this to filter the junk. I want to leave it on ‘auto’ all night (in the dark) but it will not accept my instructions. Within a brief period of time, after closing the bathroom door it has self-adjusted to ‘sleep’ mode, which I do NOT want. How do I set it to stay on ‘auto’ all night, in the dark ? ? ?

Es fcil de usar, el montaje es muy sencillo y es bastante potente a la hora de purificar el aire. Yo lo pongo en modo automtico y, cuando est a mximo nivel de funcionamiento, el ruido es muy discreto.

I bought this for my bedroom which has a thick pile carpet so it gathers dust too easily. Does a good job on it. But I especially have noticed it when I go to a friend’s house who has two cats. I have a bad allergy to cats. My friend will hoover his sitting room before I come over but if I don’t have the air purifier on high mode, my chest will start to tighten within a few minutes. On high mode, I can stay there for hours and leave without worrying that my allergies will flare up after I leave which is usually what happened without it before. I’ve had it about 6 months and it still works a treat.

The light sensor has a latency of a few minutes that has it’s ups and downs. Other than that, so far so good. It filters a decent amount of dust from the air. Always start using it after a good clean up first. It won’t get rid of dust on the ground 🙂

Unit is very quiet even on higher setting its not loud at all, solid build not heavy to move, i vape a lot and this unit clears air very quick overall very efficient. you can feel difference in air quality
I’ve had this for 6 months now and it actually works. I’ve had cheaper smaller purifiers that were absolutely useless, but this actually works. You can even see dust gathered on the front where it sucks air in. It really helped with my allergies and you can even feel that the air is fresh and clean. It’s silent and simple to use.
Very good quality air purifier also works for smoke and cooking smells
This is quite large but has the front filters in light grey or beige are nice and neutral. If left in Auto, it is very sensitive to any changes in the room, cooking, cleaning chemicals, cigarette and immediately the colour indicator will change and the power will increase. It is quite effective at removing smells but the charcoal filter is not granules but the normal screen which is not as effective and I think they could have a better charcoal filter for the price but they do give you 2 spare charcoal filters in the box.
This is much better quality than the Blue Air air purifier I bought for another room which does absolutely nothing but makes a lot of noise on high. However, for smoke smells, I think I would buy the Winix model with the plasmawave technology which I didn’t buy because I prefer the look of this one.
The negatives are that the air purifier automatically switches to Night Mode which is a constant low level when it gets dark. Not very useful in a UK winter with short days. You can override this manually so not a big problem. And I wish you could switch off the Air Quality Indicator as once you know it works and is automatically increasing power when needed, I would prefer not to have the glowing indicator on all the time.
Overall, a very good unit that is a real air purifier from a proper air purifier manufacturer.

Simply put: It moves a good amount of air, cleanses it and allows you to breath like your on the top of a mountain.
If you have a flat, and position well, it can make a difference to the way you breath during the day and sleep at night.
Please consider before buying the most popular or cheapest product this brand (Winix) and its range.
I know it is more expensive, but it seems to me, it is better to spend more for quality.

I have found the air purifier to be well made and seems to do what I required of it, as my hay fever has been particularly bad this year but since I purchased the device it have not had any major flare ups. I may have preferred choosing a higher grade model over this but the cost and performance has been more that suitable for my bedroom.
Noise is acceptable on night mode but unsure what performance the lowest setting actually offers which is what night mode runs at and as level 2 is not much more noisy but is clearly the lowest setting this should model should run at. Level 3 is considerably louder (almost 3 or 4 times that of level 2) but is the perfect day time/hour before bed setting to run at for maximum effect in cleaning the air.
I tend to run it on auto which works like a charm and means I’m not running at max, when it doesn’t need to be used, as that seems to gobble the power quite considerably compared to level’s 1 and 2.

Wow, what a difference this air purifier has already made to my life. Having arrived really quickly we set it up and it was running in a matter of minutes. It took no time at all to clean the air and I had the best night’s sleep I have had for over seven months. The air feels much fresher and I actually slept all night without being woken by coughing or sneezing. It was recommemded by a friend and is so good I am considering buying another, larger one for our lounge. It came with several charcoal replacement filters and a spare Hepa filter plus one grey and one beige cover filter. So pleased with this quality product at such a reasonable price. If you suffer from asthma, allergies, hayfever, or have pets, it is just amazing. Remember to check thecsquare meterage of your room before ordering as the efficiency of each model is dependant upon the cubic metre size of your room – HxLxW.
Have now had this product for over a month and was so pleased with it I ordered the Winix Zero for the lounge, with a capacity of 99Msq room size. See my review.
El aparato tiene un funcionamiento muy sencillo y me gusta que tiene el pre filtro lavable, adems permite cambiar el filtro HEPA y el de carbn de manera separada, alargando as la vida til del filtro HEPA (en cada pack de filtros vienen 4 de carbn y uno HEPA, siendo que el de carbn se posiciona ANTES del HEPA). Para mi esto es importante por que aunque el pack de filtros es un poco ms caro que el de otras marcas del mismo rango, hace con que sean necesarios menos cambios a lo largo del ao frente a una opcin no modular y sin el pre filtro lavable. Por otro lado tambin quiero destacar que el filtro HEPA que lleva es, segn el fabricante, un H13, que filtra 99,97% de las partculas (hay marcas cuyo HEPA es un H11, inferior en poder filtrante).
El sensor el muy sensible a partculas en el aire y la verdad es que estamos muy contentos con su resultado, adems en el
Modo nocturno disminuye solo la intensidad de los led, y en muy silencioso. Cuando lo compr parece que Amazon haba publicado una oferta que solo estaba vigente en UK y por supuesto no me lleg, pero el vendedor ha sido muy atento y se ha comprometido en hacrmelo llegar, as que un 10 en servicio de atencin al cliente.

Super facile utiliser petite notice facile a comprendre. Et indispensable en ville et pour les terrains allergiques.
I’ve trialled two purifiers previously (check my older reviews), both went back for pumping plastic and cardboard smells into the air, or the ‘plasmawave’ [on the Fellowes dx95] actually inducing my asthma (which is the reason I didn’t opt for the larger Winix Zero unit despite thinking the extra oomf would be a better fit for my space). I’m finally happy with this one, with some caveats regarding the night mode (see below).
I have allergies to many things, my dog, hay-fever, dust, house mould, and the one that was making me suffer the most recently, tree pollen. I was getting up at 4am with awful itching eyes and sneezing fits lately, but when I began using this it vanished overnight. I went from taking the maximum allowed dose of antihistamines and eye drops to needing none the day after I began using this purifier. This is during coronavirus lockdown when trips outside are once daily so hay-fever exposure is still occurring, but limited. I know this to be the machine working and not the pollen count lowering because opening the window closest to the accursed nearby tree brings on sneezing fits and an itchy throat within seconds.
The air doesn’t feel different, it’s not like you’re suddenly walking through a field of clover on a Swiss mountain. Maybe the top speed causes a slight cooling effect and that’s what people are confusing with it feeling crisp and fresh. It definitely clears the allergens out that affect me, that’s indisputable. Today though, for some reason it has stayed on red all day even with all the windows closed (maybe the liberal amounts of bleach I’m spraying around door handles to combat the coronavirus threat).
I’ve had it roughly a week so far. I ran a lint roller over the outer cloth cover today after hoovering it yesterday, and it’s surprising how much fluff it accumulates in so short a time.
So, the basic design problem with auto night mode:
It activates in dim light and reduces noise/power/efficiency considerably. Unfortunately in hot weather you might draw the curtains to keep the room cool thus plunging your purifier into night mode where it barely works. I’m not convinced it’s worth leaving on at all on this setting. Why not have an auto mode that isn’t affected by dim light for dim rooms and/or those like myself who are comfortable with fan (white) noise even with it within arm’s reach of my bed so it can still reach the speeds it needs to clean the air?
The workaround is to leave it on a manual setting and block out the lights with something placed over them if they bother you at night, but that obviously costs more to run than an automatic adjustment throughout the night.
That’s the only problem so far. It’s not insurmountable so I’m keeping it, and mostly happy but slightly wish I’d bought the larger unit for greater coverage.
Also, it’s worth noting that top manual speed seems to be stronger than top auto speed. And regarding the noise it generates, if you like a little white noise for sleeping to, I’ve discovered that the fan on setting 2 does a brilliant imitation of distant rain. It’s brilliantly relaxing.
Mittlerweile hatten wir fnf Lfter bestellt. Den Groen von Levoit haben wir behalten und eben diesen hier. Das ist ein richtig guter Lufter. Der Levoit war ja nochmal 80,- teurer, aber dieser hier kann absolut mithalten! Ich hoffe nur, dass es auch mglich Filter nachzukaufen!
Product is quiet, but if LED is on, its very bright.
You can run it in 3 modes, auto, manual speed (low/medium/high) or sleep mode.
In auto, it will vary the fan speed and the LED is on, but with the built in light sensor it will detect when the room is dark and hence enters sleep mode, where fan speed is on low and LED is off. Once the room lights up again it will go back into auto mode on low/medium/high fan speed with LED on.
If you manually select a fan speed, the LED is always on
If you manually make it go to sleep mode, it will have LED off and fan speed on low (this is the mode I have settled on)
If they add the feature so I can use auto mode, but cap the max fan speed that would be great (and make it 5 stars in my view)
Didn’t notice any difference for the first few days but after a week really feeling the change in the air quality. My husband and I both suffer from asthma and COPD and we have felt the benefit of the unit being in our bedroom. We now wake up feeling better than before we had the unit with clearer airways. I leave it on constantly and it automatically runs on silent during the night not to disturb your sleep. I would definitely recommend.
This compact air purifier is extremely quiet in operation. It is being used in the bedroom. My wife suffers from asthma and she is already sleeping better and not having to reach out for the inhaler so much. I also seem to be sleeping better, waking up more refreshed. When a vacuum cleaner is being used, even outside the bedroom, the amber light comes on , showing that there is dust in the air. the green light comes back on after about fifteen minutes. Very little power is used – verified by the smart meter that we have. Very little space is taken up, we have got it in one corner of the room.
I kept this product on in the living room continuously – it’s where we spend most of our time except for sleeping, and as I use a CPAP machine anyhow which has it’s own filters, I thought the bedroom wouldn’t be a sensible place for it.
The first thing that struck me is that the product is large, you can’t easily fit it on the sideboard or behind the sofa or anything like that. it’s got to sit on the floor somewhere. Not a problem or a criticism, just a comment as I wasn’t quite sure when I ordered it!
Assembly was simple and the instructions clear except for one of the tags which was pictogram-only, and I could not figure out what it was meant to say until after I’d already done what it said to do (take the filter out the bag before installation). Everything just clicks together, and no special tools or knowledge is required. Removal for cleaning or replacement is just as simple, and the unit came with 2 spare charcoal filters and one spare cover for the front panel.
In auto mode, the unit generally runs quietly to itself in the corner, with occasional periods where the fan ramps up as it detects dirtier air. It’s never obnoxiously loud but it’s noticeable when it really ramps up. it switches to night mode automatically and turns right down.
I live in London within the South Circular area, so expected it to pick up a lot of dust from the air. After a few days of it running, I removed the front filter and scraped my fingers across the surface. It was immediately obvious how much dust had been removed by this filter alone.
Overall, I’m impressed. I don’t notice any obvious difference when I walk in the room and I don’t think I ever expected it to change my life. However, I can clearly see that it is working and removing dust/dirt from the air, so I am happy to keep it running and see if there are longer-term effects.
In unserem Haushalt leben 2 Kaninchen, 2 Kanarienvgel und 2 Schildsittiche. Unsere Schildsittiche halten sich ausschlielich im Wohnbereich (EG) und unsere Kanarienvgel im Bro (1. OG) auf. Dabei knnen sie sich frei in diesen Rumen bewegen. Unsere Kaninchen knnen die ganze Wohnung nutzen; tagsber sind sie meistens im Wohnzimmer, abends hoppeln sie hoch und nutzen Bro und Schlafzimmer. Dadurch entstehen, neben dem alltglich entstehenden Staub, sehr viele Hrchen und Federchen in der ganzen Wohnung, die durch die Luft schweben. Unser Staubsaugerroboter fhrt zwar jeden Tag Patrouille, jedoch empfinde ich die Luft aufgrund meiner Hausstauballergie hufig als leichte Belastung.
Wir haben die Mglichkeit bekommen, den Winix Zero N” Luftreiniger zu testen und freuten uns natrlich sehr auf die Lieferung. Mittlerweile testen wir den Luftreiniger etwas ber drei Wochen und mchten unsere bisherigen Erfahrungen gerne zusammentragen.
Zu Hause angekommen, haben wir den Luftreiniger direkt ausgepackt und uns die Bedienungsanleitung angesehen. Der Zusammenbau und die Inbetriebnahme sind einfach und idiotensicher” gehalten. Auf dem Gert selbst ist auch grafisch der Zusammenbau dargestellt. Lediglich die Thematik mit dem Feinfilter ist nicht klar zu erkennen. Laut Anleitung soll man die vordere Abdeckung samt Feinfilter montieren, jedoch soll der Feinfilter im nchsten Schritt wieder abgenommen werden. Ich nehme an, dass man dies je nach Optik selbst entscheiden kann. Mit Feinfilter sieht der Luftreiniger wesentlich sthetischer aus (siehe Bilder).
Die Standortsuche gestaltete sich etwas schwieriger: das Gert soll 30-45 cm von Elektrogerten und 10 cm von der Wand entfernt aufgestellt werden — in unserem Wohnbereich gar nicht so einfach. Platz wre auf der Fernseherkommode, ansonsten steht das Gert in unmittelbarer Nhe von hungrigen Hasenzhnchen. Wir haben kurzerhand die Fernseherkommode etwas umgerumt und der Platz war gefunden.
Der Luftreiniger hat noch einen zweiten Platz in unserer Wohnung gefunden, um ihn rund um die Uhr” testen zu knnen. Am spten Abend und nachts wird das Gert im Schlafzimmer auf die Fensterbank, welche glcklicherweise sehr tief ist, gestellt.
Vor Betrieb sollte der Luftreiniger einige Zeit auerhalb des Wohnbereiches mit geffnetem Fenster betrieben werden, da die ausstrmende Luft zunchst doch recht stark und ungesund riecht. Wir haben ihn 3 Stunden im Badezimmer mit geffnetem Fenster auf voller Stufe betrieben. Danach ist kein unangenehmer Geruch mehr wahrnehmbar gewesen.
Wir haben den Luftreiniger zunchst mit dem Feinfilter im Wohnbereich (ca. 40 m2) auf Automatik gestellt betrieben. Das Gert fing nach kurzer Zeit an, auf voller Stufe zu laufen und leuchtete rot, was laut Beschreibung auf eine schlechte Luftqualitt hinweisen soll. Die Geruschkulisse des Luftreinigers hlt sich in Grenzen. Bei uns wurde das Gert bei einer Messung auf voller Stufe mit 38,8 dBA in ca. 4m Entfernung betrieben. Bei manuellem Betrieb lief der Luftreiniger bei einer Messung auf voller Stufe mit 46 dBA, was dann schon etwas strend sein kann.
Nach ca. einer halben bis dreiviertel Stunde ging ein reiner Farbwechsel los — das Gert springt dabei von rot auf gelb, nach kurzer Zeit wieder von gelb auf rot, usw. Dies kann gerade am Anfang laut Anleitung durchaus normal sein. Beim Betrieb im Schlafzimmer ereignete sich dasselbe Phnomen. Wir haben uns daher nach kurzer Zeit dazu entschieden, den Feinfilter zu entfernen, auch wenn der Luftreiniger dadurch weniger sthetisch aussieht. Aufgrund der Aktivkohlefiltermatte besteht bei einem Betrieb ohne den Feinfilter keine Gefahr, kleine Tiere wie Mcken anzuziehen. Diese Konstellation scheint dem Gert zu helfen, die Luft schneller zu reinigen und dadurch eine gute Luftqualitt zu erreichen. In spteren Versuchen haben wir den Luftreiniger mit dem Feinfilter betrieben. Bei kleineren Rumen (bei uns ca. 16 m2) hat der Luftreiniger auch mit dem Feinfilter wenig Probleme. Es dauert zwar deutlich lnger, bis die Luft eine gute Luftqualitt erreicht hat, jedoch hlt das Gert diesen Zustand anschlieend aufrecht. Bei greren Rumen (bei uns 32m2) tut sich das Gert deutlich schwerer. Auch nach Stunden ist Luftqualitt laut dem Luftreiniger nur mittelmig, sodass wir uns entschieden haben, den Feinfilter in diesem Raum wieder zu entfernen.
Ungnstig an dem Gert ist, dass der Luftreiniger sich je nach Lichteinfluss in den Nachtmodus schaltet. Im Herbst / Winter bedeutet das, dass sich das Gert, sofern man keine Festtagsbeleuchtung im Raum hat, gegen 17:00 nachmittags, automatisch auf Nachtmodus stellt und so die Leistung extrem drosselt. Dabei kann die Funktion des Nachtmodus hndig ausgewhlt werden. Ich finde es etwas unpraktisch, da nun das Gert nicht mehr automatisch der Luftqualitt nachregelt. Wir sind normalerweise gegen 16:30-17:00 von der Arbeit zu Hause, wodurch das Gert oft erst zu dieser Zeit berhaupt angeschaltet wird. Auch im Hinblick auf Haushalte mit Schichtarbeit ist das doch sehr nervig. Hier wre es sehr von Vorteil, eine Nachtzeit programmieren zu knnen.
Ein Standortwechsel des Gertes wird ebenfalls berwiegend negativ bewertet. Das Gert hat auf der Rckseite eine grere Einkerbung fr den Transport. Jedoch kippt das Gert beim Hochheben etwas nach oben, wodurch wiederrum die Front des Gertes am Krper des Tragenden angedrckt und die Vorderseite so entriegelt wird. Dies ist wirklich unpraktisch und ein Tragegriff wre hier besser geeignet.
Preislich erscheint der WINIX Zero N teuer, liegt im Vergleich zu anderen Gerten jedoch im mittleren Bereich. Alles in allem kann bisher festgehalten werden, dass sich die Luftqualitt durch den Betrieb des Luftreinigers scheinbar verbessert. Auch nachts kann das Gert ohne Probleme auf Nachtmodus betrieben werden, ohne dabei strende Gerusche zu verursachen. Die Luft wird durch das Gert ganz leicht in Bewegung gehalten, ohne dabei einen wirklich sprbaren Luftzug zu erzeugen.
Die Rume scheinen nicht mehr so muffig zu riechen und ich habe auch das Gefhl, gerade morgens nach dem Aufstehen, etwas besser Luft zu bekommen. Mit der Handhabung des Gertes kann man sich arrangieren, auch wenn gerade der automatische Nachtmodus etwas nervig ist.
Glcklicherweise drfen wir das Gert noch etwas lnger behalten und sind sehr gespannt auf den weiteren Verlauf.
