Important:
1. No monthly fee for cloud storage. Home security cameras recordered video footages, you can share suspicious activity with the police.
2. Power consumption is very low as the current on WONGKUO security camera is pretty low. Even in cloud days or power strike, the security camera will also last long. For example, if the PIR is activated 20 times, each time record 15s, the camera can last 60days. if the PIR is activated 30 times, each time record 15s, the camera can last 45days.
3. The PIR prompt delay is due to the network reason of the device installation environment. When the device is too far away from the router, the mobile phone is used out of the Internet, the signal is not good, the local network fluctuates, it is easy to cause the PIR detection prompt delay. It is recommended to optimize the network and install the router as close to the camera as possible , Install a WiFi signal extender to keep the camera in a good state of the network, and avoid the prompt delay problem of the camera part due to the network.
The duration of power consumption is related to the activation frequency of wifi camera PIR detection and the duration of real-time monitoring.
Please full charge camera battery before first using. Since it is installed at a high place, it is recommended to always connected to the solar panel.

Pro’s- I was happy with the camera and found the solar panel did the job but obviously in winter time had to charge the battery.
The cons- (and that is just what it is) this camera is advertised with free cloud storage and that was a consideration for me when choosing among a myriad of products. Unfortunately my storage was cut on the first two cameras from seven days free cloud storage then to three then none. Adverts offered cloud plans so I reluctantly took out one at 23.99 and the cloud was restored but only one camera. I contacted Aiwit through their customer service link and they said the supplier (Amazon) was responsible and they were only cloud storage suppliers. I told them they better restore the cloud storage to all three cameras as I expected them all to have that support – they replied the storage plan was per camera so it would now cost 23.99 x3 per month (79.97) per month where I was initially paying nothing. I then contacted Amazon and after some discussion I made it crystal clear I would be contacting UK Trading Standards about this as I am of the opinion it is a breach of trade descriptions act- the advert was as follows when I bought these cameras.

I requested Amazon give me a formal response as I intend to inform Trading Standards on the statements from Aiwit and Amazon.
Amazon were very fair and emailed immediately return labels for these two separate orders, (the first was ordered over a year and a half back). The money was in my bank the following day from posting even before they would have received them. Great service from Amazon – disgraceful treatment from Aiwit. So I wouldn’t use any products from this company again and if you look at reviews as I did the complaints are all around our part of the world including USA – more complaints about storage with door bell cameras.
It’s a shame- they make a good product but blatantly lie on the advert. They should be up front and say the cloud is free on a trial period then will incur a charge.
The replacements camera I have is cheaper, does the job and comes with a free 64gb media card so no cloud charges and less opportunity to be hacked through it.
BEWARE!!
I bought this, as a extra layer of security at parents house (now they already have a 400w security light) so placing the camera in front of the light direction was crucial as 400w in front of it would have been like a recording of the sun .
Now it’s been up around a month with solar panel attached, the battery has not dropped below 90% charge!
And you can view remotely, motion senseitivity, all in all for a completely wireless basic ip camera I would recommend.
Also no phaffing about with SD s you get 7 days free cloud , although seems to be 20sec clips max, plus notifications.

Good quality video, good solar charge performance
I’m testing this product to record outside a holiday home, to maintain an eye on weather-related or other damage. Because it’s outside I wanted to avoid having to wire up a power supply and so the solar-powered option is ideal. Battery performance (August) has been very good on the trial, as is image quality. The solar charger maintained battery over 90% charged over a one-month trial.
Perfect budget setup!
I recently sold my Arlo setup as I was tired of taking the cameras down to charge them every month. Thought I’d give one of these ago and a month in and it’s far surpassed expectations! The battery drops to around 90% over night but is fully charged again the following day, they save any footage for seven days, that coupled with the fact you don’t need a ‘hub’ means that this is a totally self sufficient setup. I’ve since brought another and really can’t say enough good things about them, very highly recommend!

Decent camera set up for price
Decent self charging camera set up for the price. Be aware you need a good Internet feed to it for it to work effectively. Night vision is black and white but fairly clear.

It all works great even the speaker is clear. It’s saved me a lot of hassle having to go and collect parcels when I’m not in I just speak tii on the delivery driver through the camera.

I live in the UK and have a second home in abroad. I am not technical at all so managing to install this camera was amazing. Day vision is superb. Night vision is amazing too and am able to check on the house and my dogs constantly. Althoug we have a watchman, its bonus being able to see what going on. The added bonus is the solar! We often get power cuts so this is just perfect with the solar panel. Early days yet as I bought it in March and reviewing in July. So far so good.

I had never brought a security camera before, but I saw this one and read the reviews and thought I’d give it a try. Well I wish I’d done it years ago. For the price this is a fantastic camera, it runs on a solar panel and gives you great picture quality and sound. It allows me to monitor my property via the app from anywhere in the world, and with the motion detector it even notifies me of any movement. The camera is easy to set up and the app is easy to use. The build quality is very good too. Best thing I have brought this year.

The picture quality is really clear day and night. It can get on your nerves with the notifications but I’d rather know what’s going on outside and put up with the notifications. The solar panel is excellent it’s averaging around 93% in the day and 89% during the night. Obviously we have more daylight hours at the moment so will see why it’s like during the winter months. But for the price I’m really pleased.

Simple and Effective Security Camera
Been using this security camera for about 6 weeks now. Really impressed. Simple to install, linked quickly to the Aiwit app and produces good quality footage. Motion sensitivity is good and is adjustable and the camera notifies my mobile phone instantly when triggered.
Both the camera and solar panel are good quality and the panel keeps the camera fully charged every day.
If you’re looking for a cheap, fit and forget, WiFi camera, I would definitely recommend this one.

Perfect solar camera no fuss
I have tried a number of different cameras from different companies. What I found is that the batteries run out too quick and are awkward to get to tha camera and replace. I purchased the first wongkuo camera and was total impressed with how easy the set was. Secondly with the solar charge panel no more changing batteries. The picture quality I’d brilliant. Both day and night vision. I have now purchased a 2nd camera they are so good.

It is 100% cordless and easy to install. It is 1080p resolution with over 130 degree of viewing angle which is a fantastic feature as a outdoor camera.
I was really impressed by the solar panel as it takes 2~3hrs to charge the camera from 60% to 100%.

The camera is very good at picking up motion and the picture quality is excellent.
Unfortunately the viewing access is not very good.
My access point is saying the signal from the camera is good, while the Aiwit app is reporting only a fair signal at the camera.
Accessing the camera from the app is not always timely, sometimes there is a time lag of several seconds in alerts being received.

Great picture but over sensitive
Very easy to install, no problem to pair with the app and general functionality is as described. The solar panel maintains battery charge extremely well and the picture/video quality is excellent both during daylight and nighttime.
The only issue I have is that the motion detection is too sensitive, even when set to it’s lowest setting (everything seems to trigger it, from swaying bushes in the wind to passing clouds reflecting on my car). Sometimes I have to turn the motion detection off to stop constant notifications on my phone.

Very well made from what I can see; just as well made as leading brand cameras. The removable battery looks well made too (similar quality to the ‘leading brand’ video doorbell battery).
I’m writing this review at the end of April, so we’re getting a decent amount of daylight. So far, the battery seems to return to 100% charged before 10am. I think it drops to around 90% overnight. Will have to wait 6 months to see how it performs when the nights are longer.
Image quality is pretty good and it does seem to trigger well when things cross its path (including spiders actually!). I’ve switched the ‘alerts’ off, as I don’t really need to know that a Spider has crawled across the lens at 3am (!!) but I like the fact I can just leave this running all the time and if anything serious did occur, it’ll hopefully capture it. Will probably get another one for the front of the house.
Not sure how waterproof it actually is but as you can see in the photo, I’ve been able to install it underneath its solar panel – which will help to keep the rain off.

Very surprised how well the solar panel charges. I have mine mounted at around 60 degree so was expecting poor charging. The unit stays around 80-90 percent charged. And image quality grea

Okay but.....
Let’s start with the pros:
Very good build quality, I was very surprised how well this was made.
Pretty decent picture.
The solar panel works amazingly well. I didn’t charge the battery from the box as it tells you too and the battery was around half way. I set it up at night and it fully charged during the next day, which was very impressive.
Now the bad:
Although the camera connects to the Wi-Fi pretty well and you can live stream if you signal is not absolutely top strong, it will not upload recordings to the cloud. Generally anything below RSSI -00dBm is considered a good wireless connection, this although says good connection for RSSI -55dBm (the lower the minus number the better) that isn’t strong enough to record to the cloud. I contacted customer service and they state it needs to be around RSSI – 35dBm to do this, which is bonkers you’d need it sat next to your router! I must have 20 odd cameras around my garden (to keep and eye on the chickens and other animals rather than security) and none of these have any issues at all. I even moved one of my mesh network stations outside within 5 metres of the camera and it still wasn’t strong enough. Now I’m sure this could be sorted with a software tweak but at the moment it really let’s it down. If this got sorted I’d give it 5 stars and buy more.
Update – 01/07/22
The solar panels that it comes with are useless, they work for about a week then fail to give it any charge even in the brightest sunlight. I was sent out another panel and tried that but basically the same happened. I then bought a connector to let both panels work together but still no joy. In the end I spent another 24 on a better solar panel

At the moment this is working amazingly well and keeps the battery level constant. No improvement on the recording/wifi issue. Basically if you are prepared to spend another 25 on a decent solar panel it isn’t too bad , but that wasn’t my original idea.
The company has since issued me with a replacement battery so can work OK now.

First thing to note is I like this a lot, but I’ve only given it 4 stars ….I never give anything 5 because if you tell people somethings brilliant they stop trying to improve it . Now the one thing to note and the only negative I found was you have to fully charge the battery before you put it up not really a problem and my fault for not reading the guide properly other than that it’s easy to install and set up the picture excellent motion alarms are sensitive but easily adjusted and I can watch my oil tank at work 200 miles away with no issues …

Am using it to power a blink outdoor camera, it is on a West facing wall as that is the street view, it is now january in UK so limited Sun light but work ok so far.
Easy to install and set up
Had this camera in use for about 3.5 months. It’s been ok so far, mines constantly plugged into a circuit, I disconnect occasionally to help preserve the battery. Previously it’ll stay charged for ages, recently though the battery only half charges, so if you’re reliant on taking camera down to charge it, eventually it could be an issue. Really under 4 months and the battery plays up is not ideal. I’ll probably get a replacement battery but that’s nearly half the price of the whole unit. If they does the same I’ll look elsewhere for a different make. Shame really as it does what it’s supposed to and you can talk through it, pick up video while out and about.

Update: it worked great for a couple months but now it’s not connecting to WiFi and just has a constant blue light which I cannot get off.
Generly good battery life! Front property camera battery life last about 3 weeks on busy road n the rear last 6 weeks! It’s good!

I already have the video doorbell and so I was able to easily able to add this camera to the app. The angle of view is really good, and allows me to see all the way to the end of my side access during the day. The night-vision is more limited, however, allows me to get an adequate amount of coverage. The only negative is that, although you lock the camera into place, there is no secure way of insuring that it cannot be tampered with. However, obviously you would get a notification if someone were to try! All-in-all, a great purchase and I would definitely recommend.

Great little camera!
This works brilliantly! We bought it to keep an eye on the chickens in flockdown, as we put them in a stable for now. We soon found the rat issue and the evidence was sent via (multiple) motion detection alerts! The night vision is really clear (it’s pitch black out there) and the picture quality is really good. We’re getting a second!!

The attachments are easy to install on bricks or wood. 5. Manual instructions are easy to follow. 6. When you want to view what is happening around it gives you a real time monitoring.

Well built easy to set up. Right now I am using it for monitoring inside the garage but it can also be mounted outdoor. Batteries included which is a bonus and very low power consumption so I guess there’ll be no issues outdoor with the solar panel installed. Will recommend this product to anyone.

Quick delivery. Ease to set up. Take tbe battery pack out fo the camera to charge. Download the up and then use the camera witb re-inserted battery pack to scan the qr code that pops up on your phone. Hood picture and motion detection which sends the notification to your phone that something is moving in front of the camera. Definitely recommend. Very happy with the product.
The product gives a very wide visual range surprisingly wide. Notification sent immediately detects motion. Since initial manual charge, @3.5 weeks now, the solar has been maintaining the charge it has gone down to 45% but by end of day back up to @88%. Picks up smallest motion, normally squirrels running across fence and spiders crawling across screen lol! Night vision good too considering darkness at back of garden. Feeling safer with my spy.

We bought another one of these cameras just days at the first, we were that impressed. They’re so easy to set up. Scan your phone with the device and three screws and it’s ready to put up after charging. This second camera we got for the rear garden and even though it’s further from WiFi we still get recordings and notifications. Battery is lasting much longer with there being less motion in the rear garden. Friends have been impressed into buying some too!

Wifi and wireless so easy to install. It comes with mount, screws etc. After downloading the free app setting up was simple. Recharging the internal and detachable battery is easy. Mobile phone notifications of recorded movement are great.

Picture quality in the day is really good! Motion detection is great for ppl and cats, doesn’t pick up the badgers or foxes in my garden at night tho so I think the night vision is not so good. Also takes a few attempts to load when I want to check it thru the day..
Flexible solar powered camera. Easy to install. Easy to relocate.
I purchased this Solar security camera several months ago. It worked a treat with excellent day and night time image quality. It was really easy to set up once the Aiwit app was downloaded to my iPhone. Installation was simple. I have it on the front of my house and it monitors the whole garden and drive due to its excellent wide angle lens. It triggers an alarm to your phone if anyone enters the monitoring zone and you can look at who it is in real time on your phone. The battery is constantly at above 90% charged even on a dull day like today.
Unfortunately I did have a problem with the original camera where it stopped working. The support team were excellent and after sending proof of a dead device, I was promptly sent a new replacement camera which has now been operational for nearly a month without any issues.
I would buy another if I needed a second solar camera.

Wireless Connectio
A few months ago I invested in a new “smart” security system for my home and although I have been delighted with it since it’s installation, I felt that there was something missing with regards to the overall security of my home. I do have a smart doorbell wich offers video security to the front of the house but I didn’t have any video monitoring system to cover the rear door, my French doors and my 6 foot high garden gate.
It was then that I decided to purchase an external video monitoring camera which would cover these areas but not only that, the camera would notify me of any movement in the rear garden. Within Amazon there are scores of video surveillence cameras, so narrowing down my choices involved quite a bit of research. There were several that I selected as possibilities but when I realized that I could get a wireless solar powered camera, that list narrowed further to just a couple of options in the price point that I wanted to pay.
This particular camera’s manufacturer provided an extensive description on their listing page which immediately attracted my attention and I was even more pleased when I read that they also offered free icloud storage. Other camera manufacturers did offer icloud storage but none of them were entirely free, meaning these particular cameras required a monthly subscription or the amount of storage being offered was too small to make its use relevant.
So I decided on the WONGKUO Solar Security Camera and when it arrived it was well presented in its box with all the component parts needed to install the camera where I wanted. I should mention at this point that the manufacturer recommends charging the rechargeable battery within the camera before using it and that means connecting the camera to the supplied USB cable and a USB plug (not supplied). At first I wasn’t able to charge the battery because I hadn’t read the manual from front to back first, instead I did each step as it appeared in the manual. Therein lay my problem as after the manual instructs the user to recharge the battery, the next step is to ensure that the plastic tab is removed first which will allow the camera and battery to connect to each other. The fact that screws were supplied was a big bonus as I was able to install the fully charged camera on my garden fence within 90 seconds, it was as quick as that. Connection to my home wi-fi was also quick and seamless which now allows me to to monitor my rear garden and be notified of any movement, whether I am at home or out and about.
The video quality is good whether it is through the day or through the night and given all the benefits that I have mentioned previously, the WONGKUO Solar Security Camera is an affordable piece of kit providing peace of mind to any area of your home and as such I would highly recommend it if you are looking for some extra security for your home.
