lightweight, battery life is great , cuts nicely through most hedges i cut.
Wanted to try battery powered tools instead of fuel for weight , noise reduction and environment, and this product ticks all those boxes. love it, value for money- definitely.
easy to handle, and the lightweight of product makes cutting bigger hedges easier on the arms.

Bought this because I have batteries from my power washer and grass strimmer. It is easy to use and I can get to the back of the hedge that the lazy neighbour can’t be bothered with. Hay-ho the stuff I cut off is in his garden for him to dispose of. Love it.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI needed to get another hedge trimmer as my old one was wearing out so I got this one as I already own a lawnmower from the same company.
It’s very easy to use very light and I can get a good couple of hours use of it on a single charge.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGot this without the batteries as i have other worx tools, and a petrol trimmer that i keep having problems with made me try this out. Just finished cutting a 60 meter long 3.5 meter high Castlewellan gold hedge that was not cut last year. Cut through everything even thick 4-6cm branches with a bit of persistence. All on one 4ah battery. Have to say i am impressed. Definitely recommend.

Nice quality piece of kit but it not lightweight so can be tiring on the arms despite the shoulder strap taking some of the weight. It cut well and I was pleased with the results but it’s weight led me to give it 4 stars.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI have tried a number of battery powered trimmers and although they are reasonable they almost always needed the petrol ones to tackle the bigger jobs.

These arrived well packed and straight out of the box we’re easy to set up. I have been impressed with the 20v max range on power tools so had a few batteries which fitted perfectly.

The reach is fantastic and the motor smooth and easy to hold. It gets a little heavy on the shoulder after a while on extended mode but they all do.

I managed to cut low trees large hedges and a fee really big hedges that I had left until I wanted to get the ladders. I didn’t need ladders so these made the job super easy.

Overall I am delighted with these. The are probably the best trimmers I have ever used.

My only wish was that they could be detached from the pole and used as normal hand held ones but the short pole isn’t too much of an issue to use them in this way.

Great for cutting ever green hedges, but not for cutting laurel hedges, light weight & no vibration to arms when used. Down side, can’t use in wet weather, but great length for cutting high hedges

As the title says, it reaches the parts other shears can’t. I used it for the first time and it did exactly what is said it would do. Also had to trip some undergrowth so I could change a light bulb which illuminates part of the garden. Great device, makes some aspects of gardening much easier. Worth every penny.

Nice unit – Alittle bit top heavy at times but has made my hedge cutting much safer than climbing on the stepladder. Battery life seems OK always an excuse to have a break ” Waiting for the battery to charge. Darling!!”

Light weight and simple to operate. Struggled a bit to cleanly cut fresh green hawthorn hedge as chewed it a bit rather than cleanly cutting. Seems to cut fine on conifer.

Found it heavy after using it to cut a high hedge after five minutes. Could be as I’m nearly 70 and not as strong as I thought I was.
Still did a very good job and very good battery life. Also I can interchange the battery with my Worx strimmer. My next purchase will be the Worx battery mower.

It does the job, not too heavy for a small 59 year old woman with no muscles. Still needed the stepladder to cut the top of the hedge though – couldn’t seem to get the right angle otherwise

I bought this to cut my hedge and also to trim the straggly top of some acers, both of which it did perfectly.
I have a couple of other Worx products, which I’ve been using for some time now, which is why I chose this. It uses the same battery as them, so buying it ‘bare’ like this is not only cheaper, but also more eco-friendly

The product itself is well built but the balance is not as good as petrol variants because there is no counterbalance when fully extended. This in turn makes it hard work cutting for a long time. For short periods it’s fine and cuts as expected.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAppears to be well made. The 2.0Ah battery seems to last well. The charge indicator on the battery is very useful. Easy to operate but the weight of the motor is at the extended end of the tool so it can get heavy quickly, though the shoulder strap can help.

Cuts ok but I wouldn’t suggest it as the only hedge cutter for anyone with anything other than minimal needs. As a second cutter for hard to reach areas it is great.

Much better than the flymo one and cuts quicker so less energy needed. Also, battery lasts longer. But its tiring and heavy (I’m 42 and female, but tall and fit/do lots of DIY and refurbs as I’m also a landlord). You need to get a knack with the strap and angle it in to your hips.

bought as i have a couple of other worx items and the battery pack fits them all.
it is reasonably light weight, simple to use, the adjustable angle head is useful. but geared towards light duty cutting.
it did not arrive with the support handle as the imagery would suggest but for short periods of use just holding the pole and the power control handle is alright but the balance even with the shoulder support strap is not great.
as a safety feature the power lever must be depressed to run the cutter so your grip on the handle is set, and without the support handle movement can be a little awkward.
overall a good light duty piece of equipme

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersArrived on time and easy to assemble. Gave a beech hedge a severe cut back with a chainsaw and then used this to shape it. I was worried about whether a battery trimmer would have enough power but it seemed to cope with most things – I would say probably 15mm is the max diameter it will cut. Used it for about 30 mins with no problem. Bonus is the that battery is compatible with my Works strimmer so got reserve power if needed.
The aluminium pole gives a good extension and is strong enough to prevent any wobble. Only criticism is that the motor is at the blade end, rather than the handle end (I think this is standard for battery tools). This does create quite a lot of leverage and makes it quite heavy, especially if you are using it fully extended / for a long period or when you are stretching to reach. It may be that I need to play around with the shoulder strap to work out a better way of supporting the weight. That’s the only thing that stopped it getting five stars.

Powerful and efficient but rather awkward to use because the control and battery (the heaviest section) are right at the end.

Am continually surprised by worx products. Easy to use even at full extension, battery lasts well. Not built for cutting through thicker branches (of course) but I used this to do my hedges and neaten the tree crowns – no problem and much safer that working up a ladder.

Fairly well balanced although a little top heavy as you might expect with the blade and gearbox on the end. Did 75% of our hedges before the 2Ah battery died. Had a cup of tea and an hour later it wa ready to go. A design feature might be to provide a ‘D’ handle down the shaft to aid support. Happy in all other aspects. Recommended.

Very impressed with this. Made light work of a mature leylandii hedge. It is heavier than I expected but I still managed to manoeuvre it easily enough. I used a 6ah battery and I never ran out of power.

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersLet me firstly make two points. First with this item you receive one battery and more importantly one ‘fast’ charger which takes an hour. Secondly, I strongly advise that on the first charge you leave the battery connected for at least three hours. This gives it a much better power holding ability.
Okay, now to using it. Assembly is child’s play. Two sections that simply connect together using plastic lock levers and you’re done. Another lock allows the pole to extend and another allows the handle to revolve. Shoulder strap is also provided.
The advantage of cordless is immediately apparent for me with no electric cable tangled up in my flower beds and destroying plants as I move along the hedge. It’s not as heavy either and I found the head angle adjustment simple to operate. I managed to cut the rear garden hedge in just over twenty minutes. It’s mostly gorse and hawthorn as it borders the field to my next door farmer. It cut through the branches with ease and it’s comfortable to manoeuvre. Not too much strain on the arms means you can cut in longer bursts and soon get the job done.

I was pleasantly surprised to see I had only used one bar of power when I’d finished with two more still available. On that basis I reckon I should get at least 40 minutes out of one. Hence my recommendation earlier about ignoring the green ‘charged’ light first time and leaving the battery plugged in for at least three hours.

All in all an extremely reasonable priced item with all necessary accessories. Easy and relatively light to use. I bought an extra battery too so that when I come to do larger areas I can have a back up ready to go when needed.

I can thoroughly recommend this cutter to anyone looking for a solution to their household hedge trimming problems. 5 stars without hesitation, I’m well pleased.

It is a bit heavy when fully extended, but then all the extendable hedge trimmers are. Very useful because I have several worx 20V batteries. Allows me to trim parts of my hedges that my electric hedge trimmer is too short to reach.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI bought this to replace a noisy 2 stroke machine. I didn’t expect it to have the same power and cutting capacity but to avoid annoying the neighbours I thought I’d try it. We have Inherited a 12ft high by 30ft long Mostly untamed Beech hedge. Having heavily pruned it earlier in the year I needed only to take new growth off. I did half with the 2 stroke before it died on me again and then I got this Worx pole hedge trimmer. Yes the gear box at the working end of the trimmer makes it a bit heavy when fully extended and using horizontally, but no heavier than any petrol version. One great feature is that it’s telescopic so you can get bit closer to you as well as and full stretch. It’s obviously much much quieter than a petrol machine, much to the delight of my neighbour no doubt, but also to me standing right next to it. The adjustable head works well and enabled me to reach over and trim the top far edge of the hedge which is probably about 5ft deep.
I should mention that I also invested in the Worx 2x20v WG284E hedge trimmer for close up work. That enabled me to tackle some of the thicker stems as the only criticism I have of the pole trimmer is it’s 16mm cutting capacity but I guess that’s as much as a 20v system can handle. As for battery running time, I probably used it for a least 1hr on and of, maybe 20mins continuous use, and by the end I still had two out of three lights on the battery indicator, so no problem there and I have other batteries anyway for other Worx machines. Overall I’m very pleased with this machine. For occasional home use and for light to medium jobs I’d say it’s a great choice.

Well designed, adequate for the job

Purchased petrol hedge cutters a while back but wish I had gone for these instead at the time, fairly light weight based on the length they can extend too and do a cracking job. Do have the battery jet wash and strimmer made by the same so really good that I can share batteries for the bigger jobs, excellent purchase

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI’ve used Stihl petrol pole hedge trimmers and they can be quite heavy to wield, even the battery versions where the battery is quite large to cope with a full days work. As the battery on the Worx is relatively small it’s a lot lighter and perfect for my garden. You can angle it to 90% or more for getting to the top of bushes and it’s easy to extend. The cutting action was very good and sharp and in my case, cut through all it had to, conifers along the back of the garden, and easily coped with branches a cm or two thick. I can’t really comment on how long the battery lasts as it still was going strong after about 20 minutes or so it took me to complete the job. As I have other Worx devices I have now about 3 batteries to call on should any start to run out.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersHandy to stand back and trim top of 5 foot privet/holly hedge without having to use step or walk on flower borders. Being cordless no wires to get tangled in and no petrol/oil to worry about. With a rotating handle its also handy to use to trim sides of hedges. Cuts fine for regular trims but would struggle with thick/overgrown hedges. I have a number of Worx tools and batteries and so use 5aH battery rather than the 2aH one supplied as this maintains power for longer. Only takes me about 20 mins which given the weight is all in the cutter head is about as long as I find it comfortable to use given my advancing years!

Golden Review Award: 16 From Our UsersThis works very well and is sharp and cuts the usual hedges without issue. Note however the cordless electric cutters have their motor at the end of the pole as part of the cutting mechanism…it is not at the bottom by the handle like petrol versions. Given this and after a while, especially fully extended, it does get quite heavy; they are all the same however so if you’ve more battery Worx tools the battery compatibility is clearly important.
The item is however well made and robust. It extends easily and has a good reach with various different cutter head angles to tackle pretty much everything.
The extension shaft is a good quality tubular aluminium and is a decent size negating it ‘flopping’ about…

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersPros:
Quiet: Happy with the noise level of this tool. Can work during any time of the day without getting any attention from the neighbors.
Performance: Strong enough for the job, can cut anything within the limit of its blades without any trouble.

    Cons
Balance: Not as balanced as most petrol polles hedge trimmers. the motor is actually sitting on the far end together with the blades.
Battery life: Could have been better but given the option to use the batteries from any other tools from the same brand you may have this is not much of a problem. enough battery life to finish a relatively small garden with 7 tall trees.
