The first thing I will say about this device is that you would want it if you are planning to use it for multiple things. If you are planning to just use it for one device, it really is not worth the price. This is a heavy priced item but it works really well from what I can tell. For the most part, it is pretty easy to use and connect. So long as the platforms supported by the device, it will work just fine. In terms of video quality, the stream is smooth. I did not see too much frame drops but note that it does all depend on your wireless speed and such. This does stream a very high resolution which means more data. It can also be used a recording device. It records to an SD card, but I did notice it does automatically split the video into 10 minute increments. This is a bit annoying if you are wanting something longer than 10 minutes as you will need to piece them together essentially. I also did notice one small thing is that you cannot connect the device while it is on. After you connect the devices you need, then you can power it on. If you need to add more, you need to restart the device. In terms of OS, this runs pretty much an android interface. I did notice you do need to update the device when powering it on. I did only two updates so far after using this device in the last 6 months. The setup is very similar to just any android tablet. In that it will prompt you to connect to the internet and then asked to create an account or log into a current account. It does not come with an SD card or extra HDMI cables. You can plug into several different devices but you will need to purchase additional cables. The touch screen is pretty responsive for the most part. I do enjoy having this for my studio as it allows me to do multiple thing at once on one device. It is a bit annoying that if you happen to disconnect something you have to restart the device. Also if you are recording, it only allows 10 minutes at a time. It records pretty fast but it also depending on your SD card. Overall this is a great device to have given you have multiple HDMI devices to plug into it. It is not exactly something I would just purchase to do one thing. You want to use this to it’s full potential for 1000+ dollars. The device has a solid build. The screen is pretty responsive. The only thing I don’t like is the recording.

If you stream a lot, this device is worth considering. It is extremely powerful and gives you a lot of control over your streams. The downside is that there is a pretty big learning curve and it can be frustrating at first. That is mitigated by the existence of a large and helpful user community. You can easily get a lot of help with it. This is great for switch control if you do it a lot but if you aren’t a heavy streamer a simple streamer connection is easier.

We are setting up a stuio to live stream computer courses. This hels make everything far more professional. Hard to figure out the interface to use it effectly but it has many more options that we will probably use. Nice!

It’s portable, it connects to most anything a person could ask for, it’s easy to use for even a silly girl like me, I love it!!! Price might seem a little o.O at first, but when you consider that this is the only piece of gear you’d need to make professional quality videos, it’s really quite a deal!! If you’re serious about the quality of your videos, you need this thing!

I selected the YoloBox Pro for use in my podcasting/live streaming studio. I love that it has 3 HDMI inputs and 2 USB inputs (1 USB & 1 USB-C). This allows me to use multiple cameras and switch shot angles as desired. The HDMI out feature is great, allowing you to have confidence in what your stream looks like as you monitor it on the big screen.

I love that the YoloBox Pro has an audio line in which allows me to bring in high-quality audio from my Zoom P8 mixer.

The touch screen interface is easy to navigate. Software updates are automatic when you connect the YoloBox via ethernet, wireless, or mobile data.

So far I’ve only used this in my office, but I do plan to take it on the road soon to make use of its amazing features when I’m traveling.

The more I use my YoloBox, the more creative ways I find to use it.

Overall, the new YoloBox Pro is a fantastic upgrade from the previous model. It is an upgrade worth considering for podcasters and live streamers.

Rating: 5 Stars, Very Highly Recommended.

I’ve always wanted to get into live streaming but wasn’t ready to get into other aspects like OBS or other technical aspects. I already have enough to catch up on my filmmaking journey so I didn’t want more on my plate. This device is what I’ve been waiting for. Though it is expensive but the price is justified being an all in one device for streaming, Monitoring, recording, switching with some rare features too and ever growing update like green screen that was recently added. It is made of hard plastic that feels very reliable and sturdy. Has 3 hdmi inputs and one usb which is smart in my opinion. That could be a webcam, a camera like in my setup using a tiny usb camera overhead. I don’t know any other device that can allow me use this camera without some Hdmi adapter. I was able to connect my feelworld switcher that can connect up to 4 cameras like one unit. The opportunities seem endless. It came already changed and ready. It has a usbc charging port and hence can be charged on to go with a power bank. I didn’t have to read the manual before setting up but I’d advise you do study the simple instructions/manual for best results especially the video tutorial. Overall I am so happy with the product.

This is a VERY cool product, and I feel badly that I can’t give it a stellar review… except for the right user.

Had I not received this at the same time as receiving a BlackMagic ATEM Mini Pro (its most direct competitor), I might have been jumping with joy for this.

It’s amazing how much technology is in this thing. Switcher, encoder, recorder, broadcaster all in one. Takes HDMI and USB inputs. Theoretically, uploads to multiple streaming services simultaneously. All without a computer! AND IT WILL RUN OFF AN INTERNAL BATTERY! Holy cow!

The screen is excellent and reaction time and switching is solid and responsive. There’s a *slight* delay on the input switching, but not enough to matter in most situations.

Honestly, I only tested the basic functionality. I don’t have a compatible SIM card or a very fast internet connection in my studio – and I simply don’t have any plans to do livecasts. I wanted to use this for all the other stuff.

They seem to have acknowledged the elephant in the room by declaring this a “perfect companion for the BlackMagic ATEM Mini” as if you should buy both. But, all I can figure they mean is that you could use this to record the Mini’s output stream on an SD card, or the fact that this could live stream the output of the ATEM to the internet without a computer (which is required on the ATEM mini. However, this claim seems to fall apart if you have an ATEM Mini PRO which CAN record and stream to the internet by itself, and the cost of the Mini Pro is less than HALF of the Yololiv.

It’s somewhat true in both cases that the basic video-switching functionality is pretty intuitive and simple and that you’ll be up and switching in minutes, but both have is non-trivial learning curve to using the more advanced features like overlays, chroma-keying, etc.

This may seem trivial, but when I use the ATEM, I feel like I’m using a SOLID piece of equipment with support from a company that **lives and breathes video**. The Yololiv does not leave with warm fuzzies in this regard when they advertise – “let us know the features you want and we’ll see if we can add them”. It’s great that they have a dynamically upgradable system, but I expect you guys to be the pros. Give me what I need, not what you can glean from us (although both are nice.) I found two manuals for the YOLO on-line. Again, neither gave me warm fuzzies. I felt like the 29-pager stopped before it had really begun. Really? You gave me some pictures, but didn’t really TEACH me anything. This is a complicated product and it may be new to many users – I want some hand-holding. The second manual was pretty much the same way. The ATEM’s manual, on the other hand, is HUGE and robust – it, too, is not perfect for the beginner on the advamced topics, but far better than YOLO’s.

Okay, it sounds like I’m just bashing YOLO’s product, but it really is quite cool. Here are the advantages to consider:

ALL IN ONE! No need for an external preview monitor. No need for a computer. No need for a separate uploader/streamer.

BATTERY POWERED! Wow! This is probably the main reason to choose the YOLO over the BlackMagic. You can actually do full switching/streaming in the field without power! The only thing is… how many situations will you be in that you won’t have power? Or that you won’t need power for some other accessory? And, of course, the ATEM could be battery-powered too if you use a power station, or a small battery and inverter… not as convenient, but totally possible.

MORE ROBUST INPUTS. I haven’t connected a web cam, or web mic, but it’s a great feature to know that you can. The ATEM only takes analog mics and HDMI video.

So, powerless fieldwork is this device’s real forte, but if you don’t need that, it’s hard to justify the price compared to the ATEM.

I LOVE how the ATEM has all the basic functionality built it, but that you CAN connect a laptop via an ethernet cable (no network required) to get additional features… including a FULL PROFESSIONAL virtual switching console, camera controls, audio mixers, etc. I still haven’t figured out the keying features, but other than that, it’s a MASTERPIECE of coolness and control. It also means that you can completely control the switcher from a distance. I have my ATEM switcher mounted at my studio recording post so that I can do basic product review videos by myself, but if I have someone else sitting in the “hot seat”, I can still control everything from my remote director’s station via the ethernet cable. And again, the fact that it’s backed by BlackMagic, is a huge consideration for me.

In summary, at the risk of sounding redundant. This is an AWESOME product, but unless you NEED to do battery-powered fieldwork with a minimum of gear, I cannot recommend it over the DOUBLE AWESOME BlackMagic ATEM Mini Pro at less than half the cost.

If you need the portability, this is a 5-star product. If you do mostly studio work, it’s still great, just not the greatest. So, it’s up to you and your broadcasting needs to decide the final rating.

I’m just thrilled and grateful that these products exist at all. The last time I bought a switcher, it could only handle SD analog video, couldn’t do 10% of what these products can do, and cost over two-thousand bucks (in 1990 money).

Has all the functions of a full OSB Studio setup in a single touch screen device. There are 3 HDMI inputs for cameras, with a USB 3.0 and USB C for USB sources including webcams and storage. All the source switching is accomplished using the touchscreen.

You can also mix in graphics stored on an SD card for overlays and lower thirds, or even play external video clips. A nice touch is the ability to use .pdf files as a video source.

There are even more functions on the output. The YoloBox Pro supports integral streaming through YouTube, Facebook Live, and Twitch – even all 3 simultaneously; handling all functions including secure login. There is a Gigabit Ethernet connection via RJ-45, both 2.4G and 5G WiFi, and even 4G cellular connectivity with a SIM card.

Audio functions are extremely well supported, with both mic and line level audio inputs in addition to the audio from the video sources. An HDMI output allows for confidence monitoring of your output stream.

I am working on an application that will allow remote control of the switching and streaming functions for a livestream; so the local host can concentrate on delivery while someone else, even in a remote location, can operate the technical functions. This is a great tool to use for this application.

If you do any serious live-streaming, whether it be personal gaming or podcasts, corporate communications, or even church or community events, this is an incredible tool in one box. Highly recommended.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersOutstanding. Over the last year or so a few English teaching friends and I have been experimenting with video content, very basic stuff with a single audio source and a two or three camera setup, but as none of us are particularly technically adept we’ve been unable to livestream at the kind of quality we can achieve with pre-recorded videos. Instead we’ve wasted hours editing recorded clips in the kind of slow, hamfisted manner you’d expect of a bunch of 40 year olds left behind by technology.

The YOLOLIV Yolobox Pro has changed all of that. It’s opened up the possibility of livestreaming professional looking content by making the editing process so simple and idiotproof that I can do it on the fly while recording.

Now that’s not to say it’s perfect. This is an extremely clever piece of kit but it’s still a little limited. For my needs it has more than enough grunt, capably handling a single audio source and three cameras connected by HDMI. Working with that basic setup is so simple that anyone could do it, and what’s more you can throw a few fancy gimmicks into the mix (various cuts, logos, a lower third, etc), but if you want to add multiple pre-recorded video and audio clips you may come up against a brick wall as this thing isn’t really designed to handle anything very complex. If you need to cut to multiple video clips in picture-in-picture mode I’m not sure the current software is capable of handling it, though hopefully this functionality will be expanded in future updates.

My only minor gripe with this wonderful machine is that it can only handle streaming at up to 1080p. To be fair my internet connection would probably struggle were I to try livestreaming in 4K, and I’m sure it would be tricky to fit the technology necessary to process multiple 4K video sources into a box this small and portable, but it would be nice to have the option to have at least one camera streaming at 4K.

All in all I’m blown away by this thing. It’s more than powerful enough for my requirements, and it’s an absolute joy to use.

Great thing is that they are constantly updating this thing and adding new features, so that’s a major plus! (it runs on Android) Hopefully they add a DJ soundmixer feature in the future…

This is literally a portable TV station on-the-go.

This is exactly what I wanted to record live sports/basketball game using multiple camera setup. I can add in a scoreboard and edit real-time! (you can also customize with your own logo/images) What I love is that it SAVES on the SD Card locally (you don’t need to actually stream online); now that saves me so much time from having to edit later.

Make sure when you add the scoreboard, you click somewhere off the screen so that the dotted lines disappear on the scoreboard (or else it won’t show up on on your final recording! That’s the simple mistake I made)

I was kind of surprised by the price and wasn’t sure if it was worth that, initially; but then I realized having such a powerful portable TV station on the go, being able to edit real-time/livestream needing only this, makes sense to me now.

I’m very happy I have this!

Portable TV Studio in your hands!

    Updates as of October 2021.
    Device continues to get updates.
In the short period I’ve been using the device, it’s had 4 updates.
2 videos can be added from the SD card and 1 pdf. Total of 3 from the SD card.
    More scoreboard functionality.
    Bitrate adjustments added.
    More lower third options.
    Speed test before going live.
Main menu has two options now. 1) Create a Live Stream, 2) Monitor Mode.
    More chatroom features.
    Hope this was helpful.

I’ve been live streaming from a desktop PC and using a video switcher.
Not very portable. Was looking for a portable device.
Something with: a touchscreen, that records to a SD card, has multiple camera inputs, mic inputs, usb inputs,
wireless options, a headphone jack to monitor sound, with a built in rechargeable battery.
    This will definitely work.

Includes: YOLOLIV YoloBox Pro, screen protector, quick guide, user manual, allen key, sim card tool,
cold shoe monitor mount, usb-a to usb-c, usb-c to usb-c.
Silver colored allen key is 3.0 size.
Monitor mount is black and silver, 1.6 ounces in weight, made of aluminum, has a tilt head, with a cold shoe bottom,
and mounts on the YoloBox Pro bottom with a 1/4 screw with a rubber pad. Attach by twisting the black dial.
Sim card tool is silver in color.
Quick Guide is printed on a padded insert, really cool and includes QR code.
User Manual, is small in size, has a few diagrams, with QR code.
USB cables are almost 5′ in length. White soft outer jacket.

    Setup.
First thing was to attach the provided screen protector.
Has a few very super tiny bubbles when I put it on, but disappeared by the next day.
Charge the unit with the USB cord. Apply app updates once connect online.
Graphic assets, create your own or use an online app with a smartphone or PC, then transfer to the SD card.

    YoloBox Pro
Is around 1 pound and 2.9 ounces in weight.
Bottom side has a textured surface, sides are almost rubbery.
Bottom also has vents around the entire bottom.
I did have the fans come on after running this,
have the microphone at a distance from this device while recording.
Bottom has power button, sim card port, sd card port, tripod mount, all flush with the side.
All other ports on the top side: Full size HDMI ports for three cameras, usb type-a, ethernet port, Full size HDMI out,
USB type-C, Headphone, mic in two ports, usb type-c charge port.

    SD Card usage and setup.
You will need to provide a SD card for this device.
Format the card to FAT32 from a PC. This device can use up to one 128 gb card.
    Remove SD card from PC.
Remove the plastic tray insert on the YoloBox, then insert the SD card.
Any graphic overlays you use that need a clear background, save a PNG.
I’ve also used jpeg and sometimes they come in sideways, no option to rotate, only scale in size.
For total control, use apps or software to create overlays with transparent background and save at 1920×1080.
When setting up a livestream, import your overlays one at a time.
During livestream or preview, you can click on and off any overlays. And have many on at the same time. Very useful.
The card may also contain a video clip and you can import this in as a video source.
But, you can only load in one clip, would like to have a few clips at my disposal.
Or add a tab to the menu for small clips.
Or I could use the USB port and load in another clip from another device.
The YoloBox Pro can also record directly to the SD card.
Look for the tiny record button on the screen. Click it.
When it’s recording, it will blink with a tiny red light.
After ending a stream and shutting down the unit,
you can remove SD card and transfer over the files to another device like a PC.
It will not make one video file, but it will make multiple clips. (depends on the recording length)
My clips ended up being around 10 minutes each. Easy to edit later if needed.

    Connecting online for a livestream.
    You get options:
Wire directly with a wired internet connect and a ethernet cable, plugs into the port on YoloBox Pro.
Wi-fi, connect with a wi-fi device, home router, smartphone using a hotspot etc.
Sim card, have a second sim card activate, then this option may work for you.
Setup is again all done with the touchscreen on the unit.

Audio options. (Select at any time the audio source you want to broadcast)
    Microphones must be battery-powered!
    USB input.
Smartphone could connect as long as it supports mirroring and has HDMI out.
Also if you have the cable from your device to usb.

    Streaming multiple accounts.
Before streaming you would select the accounts you want to go live.
Setup first a public Facebook Group, then connect device to app.
In the edit group settings, apps, add apps, select YoloLIV.
Also I set up my twitch account and two different YouTube channels.
All accounts can be streamed at the same time, at no extra cost!
    Works like a champ.
    Custom RTMP.
I’ve had no use at the very moment for this currently.
Nice to know that another option is available.
Keep up with your social media chat, in the chat tab.

    GREEN SCREEN added via update.
The camera feed facing the green screen, look for a tiny cymbal on the top right of the thumbnail.
Click it. Brings up “Chroma Keying Setting”
Click on Keying Switch. Select green or blue.
    Adjust Similarity and Smoothness.
Select your background image from your SD card assets. Click Done.
    You are now chroma keyed.

Been using daily for my livestreams and it really is most impressive.
Took me only a few streams and I feel very comfortable using it.
Just design my overlays on my PC and then drag and drop onto the SD card.
Before a stream I like to go over a checklist.
Make sure that I gave a title and description for the stream.
Import and graphic assets or video clip I may need.
All devices have fully charged batteries: YoloBox Pro, Wireless Mics, Cameras, Lighting etc.
Have a battery backup ready at all times.
Any tripods, or light stands, etc.
It’s easy to use, like a smartphone.
And so far it’s very reliable and stable.

    Bottom Line.
I’m able to produce a custom and portable live stream event even with green screen.
At 1080p, with multi cameras and audio, and graphic overlays.
One feature I need, is to be able to crop in on one of my camera feeds.
The camera does not have a clean HDMI out and I’m unable to crop out the camera onscreen icons.
Hope this is added in a future update. Or did I miss it?
Would like the transitions to be on a tab and not in a menu!
Another feature is you can add a customized Scoreboard Overlay.
Adjust Bitrates and even run a network test.
This is not waterproof and includes a 1-year warranty
There are a few more things I didn’t mention and more updates on the way from what I’ve read.
No type of case is included, but should easily fit into a laptop or gear bag.
Also made a quick unboxing video.
Great device for many creatives, especially being it’s completely mobile.

Portable Live Streaming device from multiple cameras, great for creatives.

I was able to try out this live streaming studio on a trial basis in exchange for an honest review. While I don’t require a device like this personally, I feel this is a fantastic option for offering live streaming of church or educational services.

It combines monitor and recording capabilities along with 4G or ethernet connectivity to stream your production to your audience seamlessly.

When I tested it out with a small group of friends, each Livestream participant said the audio/video presentation was impeccable.

There are more HDMI inputs than I would know what to do with, and the 4 hr battery life would make it easy to get through at least two to three religious services allowing participants at home the same experience as those in attendance in person.

I would highly recommend this device for the specific applications I listed above.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI’ve been hired to do a lot of live stream jobs since the pandemic, and that usually means my trusty laptop with OBS installed + Magewell HDMI to USB adapter + camera/tripod. If they need multiple cameras, I need to lug along my Blackmagic ATEM box and have that do camera switching before the Magewell. It’s a lot of equipment to set up, worth a LOT of money, and that’s not even counting the internet connection, which sometimes I need to supply via cellular hotspot device.
This unit replaces ALL OF THOSE. I can’t even begin to accurately describe how incredibly versatile of a tool this is, but considering the price of all that equipment individually, this is a STEAL at the asking price. Sure, OBS might still be able to pull more complicated tricks that the UI here can’t, and the ATEM switch can support more cameras (including SDI cables), but most of the time this is truly all you need and even then some! And there is so much value in the simplified hardware setup here.
The unit seems to run a customized UI over Android, and I was able to do some live multi-cam switching with minor effects on Youtube live using the built in Cat5 port. I am blown away with how capable this is. The only downside is there’s a bit of a learning curve since it is a very niche product and offers a LOT of functionality, so you have to familiarize yourself with the features and how it works. But once you do? This is an excellent tool for any streamer. Highly recommended!

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI have to say that i am impressed and a little bit scared (in a good way) on how everything got so compact, simple but powerful and functional. What this device does is nothing short of what only 10-15 years ago took a team of professionals in a Broadcast Van picking a video source, normalizing volume sources, running wires, you’d need a powerful inverter to power the equipment and so on. On top of that, the transmission was sent to a studio for the overlays to be added, and the content to be mixed, this required of course more professional operators, then antennas to broadcast it to the public. All this is accesible to the average person with little technical experience and a relatively low investment ceiling.

I got asked for a quote to live broadcast a wedding with 2 cameras. I have experience photographing/videographing weddings, but never did a live broadcast of it before so my research started on a device that could do this without involving much hardware as this wasn’t, until that time, a niche that i covered, but that changed…

    Meet the Yololiv’s Yolobox Pro.

I had two challenges for this event. I surveyed the venue and the WiFi was spotty at best, Speedtest recorded less than 1mbps upstream and that was with no one present, with no one uploading data, which means that the day of the event it was wound up to be worse by adding interference and use by others, so using the venue’s WiFi was out of the question. My T-Mobile’s 5G connection was available so i thought about using my phone as Hotspot and bringing another one with a different provider just for the event as a backup, then i realized this thing has 4G LTE built in.
To shorten the story, i purchased a SIM with a data plan and brought my phone hotspot as a backup and i never needed it, the included 4G LTE radio never lost connection during the broadcast except for a couple of minor hiccups here and there but i suspect the network and not the YoloBox Pro.

The other challenge was finding an operator for the YoloBox Pro that could learn the basics quickly and operate it efficiently, but at the end it wasn’t a challenge, two days with the device was enough for somebody with just a little bit of technical experience (some Adobe’s Premier Pro and Android Experience) to figure EVERYTHING out, this device is EASY to operate as long as you have basic knowledge of how it works and the product that you’d like to deliver, it comes with a bunch of preset overlays and we took advantage of that.

We literally needed nothing else to broadcast (no additional computers, no additional network devices even when we brought a backup we didn’t need it), not even wires we ended up using wireless HDMI transmitters from the two cameras to the HDMI Inputs on the YoloBox Pro and it just worked.

I got approached from a couple of people across the country who went to the “virtual wedding” to inquire how much would something like this costed because they were interested for another wedding and an event, so a niche i wasn’t taking advantage of opened up for me by acquiring this YoloBox Pro.

Beyond the experience and the software, the hardware is great and provides easy to use and accessible features and connections, from HDMI, Ethernet, USB-C (for charging and compatible with USB Cameras as well) sound lines (in/out) and more.

The screen was nice but a little dim for outdoor use @ 400 Nits (even on indirect sunlight), but can always be mitigated with a shade of some sort as we did and had no dealbreaking issues with it.

The unit got slightly warm to the touch after a couple of hours of use and the fan was running most of the time. I did not own the previous Yolobox but from what i get the increase on the screen brightness, size and processor upgrade to Qualcomm 660 warranted the addition of the fan and we all know heat is the number one enemy of electronics, so i’m happy to know that if it was expected to get hot due to all those aspects, it gets just warm so it’ll extend the longevity of the device.

Overall, i keep learning more and more about this great device on forums and expecting updated from Yololiv’s on upcoming features, but so far this has been probably the greatest addition i’ve made to my Photo/Video business this year, would recommend to anyone looking to simplify everything on a device the size of a tablet. 5 Stars!

This little beast arrived nicely packaged, which I appreciated. The unit itself is a big step up , major improvement from the previous version. Works very well with live streaming and is nice and compact, not too bulky. The graphics are nice, very clear picture and the battery life is also a big plus, nothing like the battery dying out while live streaming! Yikes, happened to me before but not with this one. Will take a little getting used to ad far as all the functuality, but once you figure everything out you will be very impressed and you will enjoy all the features. You can also see some videos on YouTube which can also help you out. Very impressed!

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersWow. This thing is pretty awesome. And the first think you’ll notice when you receive it is how beefy/weighty it is. It certainly seems to be made really well. Nothing about it seems flimsy to me.

Besides the all-in-one convenience that this device provides, my favorite thing about it is the screen. It’s fairly large, so seeing the different live streams on this unit is much easier than on other units I’ve used or seen. Furthermore, it’s a touchscreen, so making adjustments and choices couldn’t be easier.

I have even used the predecessor to this YoloBox model, and this YoloBox Pro model is a big improvement over the previous version. The screen is bigger and brighter, there are more inputs and outputs, the battery capacity has almost doubled, and the processor has been substantially upgraded. Furthermore, this new model is HDCP compliant too.

I think the previous YoloBox model was well-made, well-working and reliable, but with all the substantial improvements/upgrades of this new YoloBox Pro model, I think it is now one of the best units on the market. I like it. I recommend it highly.

If you have any questions about this YOLOLIV YoloBox Pro, please feel free to ask, and I’ll try my best to answer. I hope you found this review helpful.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersThis is my first time using the Yolobox. I have experience with the ATEM Mini and Livepro switchers. I do some, but not a lot of live streaming.

Some basics. The Yolobox pro comes nicely packaged without excessive packaging. It includes a screen protector, and a cold shoe mount that inserts into the 1/4 20 slot on the bottom of the unit. The cold shoe mount is of decent quality. Also included are a hex wrench to tighten the tension on the cold shoe mount. And a push pin for the SIM card. You get 2 cables…a usb c to usb a and a usb c to usb c cable. The unit itself feels solid. It measures about 8.5 inch by 5 inches by 1.25 inches thick. The sides have a rubbery texture. It weighs, I’m guessing about 1.5 lbs. and feels solid. Of course it it has a built in battery. There’s no ports or buttons on sides. The top has 3 hdmi in , a usb c and usb a ports in for webcams and other usb devices, an ethernet port, a headphone jack, a line in and mic in ports…both 3.5mm, and a usb c power port. Bottom edge of unit has the 1/4 screw hole, an SD card slot, a SIM card slot and a power button. The bottom of the unit has a rubbery texture.

Setting up is real simple. I first charged the unit until full using the USB c port. It will not charge from a PD device…only a 2.5a usb charger. Once done power on, hook up to wifi or ethernet and sign up for the Yolo account. Then it will go through several cycles of software update automatically. After which you enter you account for your streaming services. I have no issues hooking up my Canon camcorders, and my Logitech Streamlive webcam.

As a dedicated live stream device it’s excellent. No computer needed. And over my ethernet and streaming a test channel to YouTube I had no issues. There are plenty of online reviews detailing the streaming experience and since I’m relatively new I don’t have much to add…well maybe that the fan is louder than expected…it can definitely be audible in your stream if your mic points towards the Yolobox.

Coming from the ATEM I miss many features. There is a bit of lag in switching sources, say about .5 seconds for transitions, etc. There is little control over timing of the transitions. There’s also very little control over audio. The overlay on the Yolo is super simple but also limited…for instance the lower 1/3 can only be on one side of the screen. In short…if you like the flexibility of the ATEM, you will miss those features on the Yolobo.

There are also other features that are missing but possibly could be in future software updates.. The most attractive feature for me would be the ability to playback recordings. The Yolobox will let you record without live streaming…so you can record something and stream it later. But it will not let you view the recorded video. You’d have to remove the SD card and play it on a computer. Also I wish it had USB webcam out so that it can be used as a webcam device like the ATEM.

Overall, if you need a great live stream device that is simple and portable…no need for computers this is a 5 star device. If you are like me who is wishing for a portable switcher/recorder..I feel it’s missing too many features to make it truly useful as a replacement for the ATEM Mini. And lastly it is loud and does get warm. Aim your mics away. I also hope that someone comes with a cage for this device..makes it easier to see the screen if there is a bit of a tilt and gets it off the flat surface so that there’s more air circulation.

My son was in a very popular band and when they got waylaid by Covid, he decided to try and revert to his original career as a sound guy. Not easy to get a lot of work, but this really has opened up a few avenues for him. He is using it to livestream some church services and his new client has been very pleased with the result.

He says it’s very easy to use after ordering the proper cables he needed. He had it working and testing within an hour or so.

Quality is much improved– he doesn’t have a lot of equipment, but he is able to set up a couple of different angles and get professional results immediately. He can use his camera OR phone or both, and there is no difference in quality.

    Unbelievable capability– great product!

This YOLOBOX is simply incredible. This is the stuff the future is made of.

With this you can skip so much of the trouble of editing/streaming. Essentially, you hook up your cameras to this, connect it to the internet (wirelessly or using cellular) and other video sources.. with it you can mix/cut in different feeds in real time and have it setup to do your wireless streaming all at the same time.

As an example, if you hook up a few cameras for a live church event, you can have all cameras up on here at once and then cut between the close up camera, the wide shot, the lobby, presentations, other media all at the same time.

You can edit in titles and other information and inject/overlay it into the feed as well.

The fact that you can do this ALL ON ONE DEVICE is incredible. You don’t even have to bother with waiting to edit and upload.. it’s all live.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI have been live streaming events for many years now, and it involved a laptop, cabling, mixer and a bevy of video input adapters. I have wished for a simpler way, and now I have it. This is a remarkable touchscreen device that combines a video switcher, streaming encoder, video capture and CG into a device that resembles a very thick tablet. It comes with plenty of inputs, including HDMI, USB-C, USB and line and mic in plus supports three forms of networking. It has an ethernet jack, wifi and a SIM card slot for cellular data.

Setting it up is very easy – after creating an account and connecting the device to a network, it went through a series of updates that didn’t take long. Once that is done, the user is presented with a screen to create a new streaming event. It supports multiple simultaneous endpoints through the manufacture’s cloud service, or one can connect to a single streaming service. It supports Facebook, Twitch and Youtube, plus support for other RTMP based services. The device has an integral Chrome browser to handle things. It’s all straightforward enough for those who have streamed events before, and there are helpful videos that can help.

The device comes with support for graphic overlays such as watermarks and lower thirds. Images and pre-recorded videos are loaded off of an inserted SD card. Incoming video switching can be cuts, a fade or wipes – there are several choices. Streams can be archived which is super useful. I’m streaming with two HDMI sources, and performance is fine. There is a cooling fan, but it’s quiet and unobtrusive. The screen is plenty bright, battery life seems good so far (it charges via USB-C – great!).

I’ve only begun using it and am very impressed at performance, but also the manufacturer’s updates that add new features. It’s intuitive enough that I think most users wouldn’t have a problem using it. I’ve shown it to people I’ve done video projects with, and everyone is impressed. This is a remarkable device that replaces a lot of gear.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersThe build quality of this device is first off, fantastic. There is a rubber like texture to the outside that feels very premium. I absolutely love that they included a screen protector for you to attach to it right there in the box.

Now of course the Black Magic ATEM switcher is a great device but in my opinion it just doesn’t compare to the YoloBox Pro. The biggest difference is of course the screen. This is an Android based device and what makes this so valuable to me is that screen. Seeing all of your inputs live just makes things so much more intuitive to use. I mean you don’t even need a computer to stream. You do everything from this device itself. You can stream to services like YouTube, Facebook and Twitch AND you can see your chat on the device as well. It also has RTMP support so any service that uses that protocol will work with this device. Unlike other devices there is nothing else you need to buy to get streaming right away. No monthly service fee or anything like that.

The fact that this is an all in one device is really important. Imagine you are at your kids baseball game and you want to stream it to other family members. The device has a built in battery so you don’t need external power. Just hook up your camera and connect the device to your phone’s wifi hotspot and you are good to go. Of course you could have just streamed from your phone but the image quality you would get from a good camera far surpasses what you could get with your phone.

The 8″ display is big and bright at 400 nits brightness. It’s actually a good bit brighter than the previous version of the YoloBox. You get 3 HDMI inputs and you also get a USB input as well in case you want to hook up something like a webcam to the device. A new change in this version is that you not only get an audio line in but a mic line in as well along with a headphone jack so you can monitor your audio. There is also a USB C port for connecting other devices but I have not played around with that functionality yet. I understand you can hook up external hard drive to that port. Just like the previous version you have a ethernet port as well along with another USB C port strictly for charging.

A big upgrade over the previous version of the YoloBox is the upgrade in processor. This one has a QualComm 660 processor which in my testing has resulted in a much higher stream quality over the previous version. Thankfully with these upgrades they also decided to include a fan in this device. This is a very good thing as I noticed with my other YoloBox it would need to get a bit warm and with the upgrade in processor heat would have become a real issue had they not put a fan in it. The fan isn’t overly loud so it won’t interfere with your productions.

You can of course connect to a wifi hot spot with the device but you can also put a sim card in it and just like the older version of this device you could use ethernet as well. If you do connect to a wifi hotspot, such as your phone, just make sure you have good signal strength if you want a high quality stream.

You can stick in a SD card into the device so you can actually record your stream as well. If you have any videos stored on the SD card you can actually play those video files on your stream as well.

There are a bunch of titles and lower thirds built into the device and of course you can add your own as well.

I have been providing streaming services to clients for some time and have used so many different devices trying to find the perfect one to use. I think I have found it in the YoloBox Pro. I have never used a streaming device with built in switching that has been anywhere near as easy to use as this device. It has been rock solid in all the streams I have tried so far. I can’t recommend this device highly enough!

May just be the best portable live streaming device on the marke
