So far so good! Thanks to other reviewers’ responses to my questions, I took the splurge. My previous choice was disappointing. This one so far is working out just fine. The area where a pencil is supposed to go seems too flexible as in I can easily bend that edge away. But, I don’t use the pencil (yet) so I am not sure if having the Apple Pencil in that slot would reduce that flexibility or not.
My new iPad Pro is large for my small hands, but I’m getting use to it. What I do love about this case is that I’m able to slip my arm in between the iPad and the stand portion of the case. Yes, I have petite arms…so with the magnetic stand, I can walk around with my large iPad and not drop it! Loving that! I can take photos easily by adjusting the stand out of the way.
The many adjustments of the stand is outstanding. The ability to hang it off the refrigerator…wonderful!

The case is very good and serves its purpose. My only criticism is that it is a tad too expensive but a necessity.

I just received this case a few days ago, so I can’t quite say anything about long term durability just yes. (The lid and stand seem a bit flimsy, but not bad, and I’m willing to sacrifice that for the overall lightness of the case.)

I easy to install and remove, not sure what all the people are doing who are breaking them going in. If your gentil, and push stretch the edges around on to the iPad, and roll the corners in place, price of cake. If your just damaging or feel like your damaging your Ipad your doing something wrong.

I love love love the design kick stand, and the multiple groves to prop it in are magnetic, so it stays put, and won’t slide. The shape of the kick stand its self, is kind of an arch, leaving an open in the middle, this creates a great spot to slide your hand through the back an griping when holding it in your hands.

This is the second ZUGU case I’ve gotten, one now for my iPad Pro 12.9, and one about a year ago for my iPad Air. After seeing mine, my wife got rid of her case, and ordered a ZUGU for her iPad Pro 12.9 as well. I’m a REALLY big fan of well thought out products. The Apple Pencil holder fits snugly enough that it won’t fall out, charging still works perfectly, and the iPads are nice, tight, precise fits. They’ve engineered the button covers to require the same amount of pressure required when they don’t have a case over them. Like anyone would be, I was skeptical about using the magnets to hang my heavy iPad off the fridge, but, it holds it QUITE well. The cases are very durable, and don’t interfere with screen protectors whatsoever. My ONLY gripe, is that when you use the case as a stand, the part of the cover that interfaces with your screen is what’s resting on whatever surface your tablet is on, leaving you worrying about things sticking to it, and potentially scratching the screen. When I’m concerned about the surface though, I just turn it around and let it sit on the edges of the case, instead of the face. It’s an expensive case, but after getting the one for my iPad Air, it was no contest on which case I would get for my new iPad. Note, the case itself weighs about as much as the iPad. Don’t be afraid to buy though.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersIf you have stumbled upon this particular iPad case in your search for the best case for your 12.9″ iPad Pro, I INSIST that you look no further. This is coming from someone who already wasted $100 on other cases in search for the best one and I wish I hadn’t and had found this first. It is perfect in every way. It is slim, sleek, sturdy, stylish and any other adjective starting with S that you can think of LOL. No but really it gets the job done. The magnets are very strong and one feature I really wanted from my case is to be able to attach it to car magnets so I can use it for navigation as pictured and this can do that too! If you have the right car magnets it won’t budge. So now my Honda Civic has been upgraded to a Tesla. Another feature that is personally a requirement for me is the front pocket for your Apple Pencil. Although they swear up and down that keeping it connected to your iPad 24/7 won’t damage it, I still don’t like the idea of having it charging all the time. For this reason the separate pocket is perfect. Then there’s the 10 angled stand. This literally has the perfect viewing angle for any place you could possibly want to sit. Whether it’s at a desk to type or draw, or on your bed to watch a movie. It sits perfectly upright with no help on your lap over your blankets. I’ve had one of those fold over stand cases which I would have to prop on a pillow to get it to stay but this is good in its own. Apparently, I could go on about this case forever. Please don’t waste anymore time and money. This case is literally worth every penny no exaggeration.

This is easily one of the best iPad cases I have ever used (and I used to review iPad cases for a living).

I ordered the Alpha Case for my 4th Gen iPad Pro to replace the flimsy magnetic cover I got from Apple. I wanted something sturdy that still looked good and wasn’t too thick so I could still take advantage of the iPad’s slim profile. What I ended up getting far exceeded my expectations for a product that is relatively inexpensive compared to other “premium” iPad cases.

You “snap” your iPad into the case, wrapping it in a rigid rubber frame that protects it from drops and bumps. It might not save your iPad if you regularly toss it around, but the rubber frame does protect the sides of the iPad from most minor impacts or from getting scratched up. The inside of the cover is very soft and features the company logo and can be used to sleep or wake the iPad like Apple’s own magnetic covers. It’ll do a good job of protecting your screen but you might want to also get a screen protector in case any bits of debris get between the cover and the iPad screen.

The outside and overall design of this case scream “premium”: The leather exterior is pleasant to look at and hold while also providing extra protection to the front and back of the device. The back of the case has a magnetic kickstand which you can adjust to multiple viewing angles but I find it works best when on a stable and steady surface like a table or desk and doesn’t work as well if you are balancing your iPad on your lap or chest (for those of us that like using our iPad in bed). You’ll find a place to slot your Gen 2 Apple Pencil while charging along the side of the case and there is a small pocket on the back of the case next to the kickstand where you can store your Pencil when you aren’t charging it. I personally leave mine charging when not in use and haven’t run into any problems with the Pencil falling out of the slot while still remaining easily accessible.

The case feels very well made and has held up well under daily use thus far. My one (minor) complaint about the case is that it makes it slightly easier to accidentally put your iPad to sleep when holding it in landscape. It doesn’t happen every single time but it happens often enough to notice so you might need to adjust where you hold the iPad from in order to not trigger it. It is a small annoyance that easily is overshadowed by the benefits of the case.

If you’ve been looking for a case to protect your iPad while also keeping most of its aesthetics then this case is for you. I would choose this case over most other premium options available and would recommend it to anyone looking for a general, all around balanced case for their tablet.

I have 2 of these black one for 2019 model and recently a navy one for 2020 model this week we are buying a THIRD iPad Pro 12.9 for my daughter who likes the navy so we will get a third zugu case. They are not cheap but quality never is. One of my favourite features is the magnets, if you fold the back board a certain way where the magnet tabs ‘pop out’ over the profile of the case it sticks to any fridge or metal surface and takes some moving, very strong. Strange but the reviews I’ve seen fail to notice this configuration which is THE one for mounting on a metal surface. This is THE best iPad case ever!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis is an unexpectedly incredible case for the iPad 12.9. I love everything about it!

But, after using it for a while I’ve started to realize that the flap joint might not stand the test of time. I travel a lot and this case has just made it much easier for me to get my work done anywhere I station.

Considering the number of times I open and close the flap I’ve started to notice a little bit of wear on the edges.

So I just wanted to give you guys a heads up! It sure is a lot of money for a case, I’d recommend holding on to the money until an offer arrives and if you can’t, you won’t be disappointed anyways.

I am an adult primarily using my iPad Pro 12.9″ for school, specifically taking notes during class with goodnotes. This case is amazing. Another reviewer said, “If you are willing to spend all that money on an iPad, you should be willing to spend money on a case that will take care of it.” That was the push I needed to buy this case. As far as the features go, the video attached to the picture description was pretty decent. I do not toss my iPad around on tables so I’ll just go ahead and say, “don’t do that.” However, the pencil holders are legit. There are two… one for charging, and one for traveling. The charging holder is magnetic. You do not need to adjust the pencil to make sure it charges. It’s a decent magnet that pulls the pencil into position. The kick stand on the back is also top notch, and has never falling out of position. I use my iPad everyday for many hours… it’s built correctly! The part in the video where they attach it to the fridge with the built in magnets – ehhhhh. It felt a little flimsy for that. Do not buy this case for that feature.

I’ve had the case for 6 months. Up until now, it’s been great. I really like it. But suddenly, the Apple pencil 2 won’t charge when the iPad is in the case. It used to just fine. But now it won’t. I have to remove the iPad from the Zugu case every time i need to charge it and it’s really inconvenient.

I reached out to the company and was able to trade texts with the owner! They were very responsive and quickly arranged to have a new version shipped to me next day. They told me they had redesigned the case and the newer version addressed the charging issue. I believe they made the membrane between the pencil and the ipad thinner.

The customer service response was far greater than nearly any other company I have ever dealt with. And the product is really great. The magnetic back is really useful. It allows me to tweak the angle of the ipad so that when I have it on a stand, I can adjust it to a perfect vertical for Zoom calls. That way people aren’t looking up my nose.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI do love a good case. I mean, I’ve spent a small county’s deficit on a device and I want to protect it. I have always gone for leather multi-position stand type covers and they’ve been ok but this one is so much better. To be honest when I first saw it I didn’t like the look of the flappy bit on the back that props the iPad up when in use but it is held down magnetically when folded so it doesn’t get in the way or flap about when you’re trying to carry it or put it in a bag. And it’s the magnets that make this case great. The stand snaps into the multiple prop positions with a satisfying magnetic ‘clack’ and once there it doesn’t move. Also the Apple Pencil snaps nicely into the charging position along the edge of the iPad with no issues, and while using the pencil to sketch, with the stand at a low angle and my palm resting on the screen, it doesn’t budge. There’s also a little elasticated fabric pocket on the back if you don’t trust the magnetic holder for the pencil but I don’t think I’ll use it unless I was carrying the iPad around on it’s own. As I usually keep it in my bag when not using it I highly doubt the pencil is going to come off the magnets.

The part of the case that the iPad sits into is a snug fit and seems thick and squishy enough to give good drop protection, and has a raised bezel which helps to locate the front cover and protect the screen edges.

Overall, a very well designed case which, while not as pretty as some of the high-end leather ones, is definitely more suitable for the way I use the iPad. Too early to say how well it will last but it seems well made so I don’t doubt it will be ok for some time. I would definitely reccommend.

Golden Review Award: 309 From Our UsersThis is an excellent case that fits very nicely on a 12.9″ ipad. It looks great, and the various rectangles that help the stand fold out are both attractive in a kind of “trapper keeper” way, and also very functional. The vegan leather material feels very nice to the touch, and it is clear that the class will protect the ipad in minor drops.

The only downside (which may be an upside to some) is that the vegan leather can pick up stains from oils; it’s permeable. As a result, it can get a patina of little (or big) marks on it that make it look even more like leather. It won’t stay perfectly the same color all over. The marks make it look even more like leather, but this is something that I wish I anticipated before I bought the case. It still looks great, but if the “sturdy and distressed” look will make it look bad to you, instead of good, then you might want to look elsewhere. I think it’s an improvement on other cases which are plainly not leather, and the fact they can’t get marks like this makes them look more fake.

I have the purple case. And I have the 4th generation IPad Pro 12.9
I love the case, but the button didn’t want to work until I messed around with it. The buttons take a light touch. But I didn’t know that. So, I pressed and pressed the top button (the side buttons were working) and the top button wouldn’t budge. Then I decided that perhaps the button wasn’t lining up with the IPad button. So, I slightly peeled the cover away from the top corner of my IPad and looked at and tried both buttons (the Ipad and the cover individually) . After aligning them, I got those to work (while the cover was pulled away) but the side buttons would not engage until I reinserted the IPad into the cover. From that point onward, at least for now, it seems to work. It also appears to be an alignment issue that just needs a little bit of attention.
The magnet. . . wow! I can see using my IPad for recipes without it having to be on the countertop. Too bad I can’t do business meetings next to my refrigerator. This would be a great brainstorming tool!
I don’t know about protection because I’ve not had it that long and luckily haven’t dropped my IPad. But it seems very sturdy.
I am extremely happy with this product. . . not too bulky either. Also, love the fact that I can bend back the cover so the whole thing can lay flat for doodling.

Anyone who owns an apple knows what I’m talking about, but to those still riding the edge I’l explain.

Real quality and craftsmanship area a rare form these days at least to those of use not riding around with heavily padded bank accounts. It’s the quality and craftsmanship your paying for when you pay the premium on apple products. That same quality and craftsmanship is found in the Zulu case, its just straddling perfect, the materials used, the minute details, some of which you really have to look, for but trust me they’re there. The symmetry of the gaps. The finely stamped + – and power indicators in the rubber by the buttons. You can appreciate the level of thought put into designing the finishing touches to finalize the design. I love the pencil cutout by the way, recessed just deep enough to allow easy access but contoured and level at the ends as to not get caught on anything, and still keeping the strong magnetic connection that flips the pencil into perfect alignment when just dropped from above, brilliant.
Now the magnetics of the case itself, I’m not going to say much because it’s all over this page, but I will comment to just how solid the stand becomes when utilizing them. Any stronger and you’d need a welded aluminum frame.

This isn’t the cheapest option out there with this design as its been undercut from lesser manufacturers, just like knock off Iphones there are knock off Zugu cases. If you happy with knock off products, and like buying something repeatedly when they enviably fail, then all the power to yeah. This review isn’t for you

This review is for those of us who appreciate brilliant design and top quality knowing yes that usually cost a few more dollars but you get what you pay for especially here with the Zugu case. I don’t regret one penny i spent on it and would buy another that very day should it disappear on me, it was also worth the wait for it coming through the mail.

The red is a deep Blood red in real life with the black accents it just pops, works great unfolded in my hands using it as a a straight up tablet, works great in one of its 8 different angles on my lap or chest, and it works great unfolded in my tablet stand I use to work on my tablet when I’m left recuperating my back in bed.

Can’t recommend this thing enough, If your in the market for a tablet stand folio, then love yourself enough to buy the best, Love yourself enough for a Zugu you’ll love it too.

    Golden Review Award: 325 From Our UsersThis review is based off the Alpha Case 2020 iPad Pro 12.9 in 4th Gen;

I’ve read people complain it was too hard to get on. Non-Sense! I personally I think it was too easy to get on or off.
I think the fit should be more tighter. If you are wanting a case to be durable and secure, you want it to stay tight around the edges where you hold it, not slip off; and why buy a case like this if you plan on taking it off often, you would be better off with just a sleeve then.

I like that it has multiple angles for various viewing positions and they stay in place with the strong magnets.
All cutouts are accurate and do not block the speakers either like some other brand cases do. The material is playable yet, sturdy and does not get dirty. Screen stays clean and protected from the Microfiber cover that folds back into place in a nice recessed bezel and puts the screen to sleep.

The pencil holding area is perfect and I don’t have any complaints there. Some people say the material is too thin, non-sense. It’s perfect and and holds the pen in place well while still being able to charge it. No worries about it being knocked out accidently. And if you want to store an additional pencil or just take your pencil out, there is a soft flush elastic fabric type pocket on the back of the case that holds it firmly in place as well.

I’ve been in touch with Tim the owner/CEO and have talked with him on some improvements/suggestions that could be made to make this even better than it already is. People this man and his team really take pride in making their product the best it can be for the consumer and best of all, excellent customer service and the owner with gladly talk with you about anything. Superb. Excellent warranty too! You really get an great product for what you pay for.

I currently own the Black version, but that Brown version is so damn beautiful. It wasn’t available at the time of my purchase and I’ll probably end up purchasing it.
I’m looking forward to the improvements Tim and his team puts into these cases as time goes by.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI bought this case when I upgraded to the 2020 IPad Pro from the 2015 first model. I went through a number of cases with the first and nothing seemed quite right, but this one is perfect!

    Pros:
It’s thin yet durable, you’ll know what I mean if you feel it. It’s got a lot of quality to it, you definitely get what you pay for!

Magnets are surprisingly useful. I didn’t think I would use them much but they’re a great addition to stick my iPad on the fridge to look at a recipe and such. They’re STRONG too, no worries about sliding.

I even made a custom stand for my iPad that uses this cases magnets to hold it up. Now i get to use my iPad as a tertiary monitor for my work station. No other case I would have faith in!

Looks sleek and sexy. I got the brown one and it looks nice, though I probably would have gotten the black one if I could redo my order.

Adjustable magnetized levels are great for a variety of things. Whether watching videos in bed or working on illustrations, there’s a level for just about anything.

    Cons:

This is a double edged sword but… it’s SNUG like REALLY SNUG. Your iPad will not fall out of this, but it makes it somewhat hard to get the iPad in. I’m comfortable with it enough that I have a technique, but newcomers be patient when you’re putting your iPad in! Do not be forceful!

If your screen protector is slightly misaligned with your iPad then the edges of the case may catch the protector and peel it up. Happened with my last one so spend extra time installing your protector to make sure it’s as centered as possible. If you do that right then it will be fine.

It’s durable, but the material is not very great at resisting scratches. I could put decent scratches on the surface with just my fingernails if I really wanted to, it’s kind of a soft smooth pleather feel. Though if you care for your iPad like the $1000+ device it is, then you shouldn’t be getting it too scratched up.

Kind of a con but more of something I would LOVE to see in a later model:
When you fold back the case to just hold your iPad flat, the back will not stay stuck so it feels a bit “shifty” all they really need to do is add magnets below the 2 mega ones so that they can grab the screen flap effectively. But it’s not really a big issue 99% of the time.

Love the case! It’s expensive but if you have the budget for it then I would say it’s hard to beat anything else in the same price bracket.

    My Favorite Case!

I’ve had my Zulu case for two days now, I absolutely love it. After looking at the negative reviews I was a little skeptical, but was sold on the design and the functionality. I took a leap of faith and purchased the case /and I’m in love with it! It was a tight fit getting the case on but no worries , you want it to be because that is how it is supposed to be a second skin to your device. My iPad is a 2020 model.. all the buttons work and is holds to my refrigerator by the magnets like a champ. One of my worries was that my pen would fall off easily from its charging port. I’m happy to report I have confidence that it will stay put. It is a little hard to remove it, what I mean is that takes deliberate effort. This case is solid very well made, I am confident that this case will last a long time

I’m not one for superlatives, BUT this case is sensational ( for a case), fits like a glove for one.
Different angles for the screen, secured strongly via magnets, you can literally pickup the iPad one handed and nothing moves, (except the whole unit, you’re trying to move), it’s incredibly sturdy.
Apple Pencil 2 fits in perfectly and pairs immediately.
It’s strong and gives me a sense of security that my device is produced against an accidentally drop, I have no evidence of this, though it does seem really solid.
It looks good as well, I would easily recommend this without hesitation.

Golden Review Award: 314 From Our UsersWish list for this case:
I wish the Apple Pencil didn’t have to be removed from its sleeve/grip to charge.
I wish I could lay the back flat so I can write on it as if it were a notepad on my desk without the back magnet making the pencil freak out a bit in spots.
I wish it had some way of attaching to the Apple Smart Keyboard without having to remove the case. I know this wish will most likely never happen and anyone looking for a case to go over the Apple Smart Keyboard or magic keyboard get the STM Duo Shell. It + keyboard is heavy, but it’s very protective.

All in all I love this case. It just has a few flaws that could be improved on. None of its flaws are really a deal breaker except the magnet interfering with the pencil. That is annoying. It really can hold my iPad Pro 12.9″ on the refrigerator. I tested that. Sometimes when I’m moving the iPad around on my desk the magnet stand comes off and I have to re-prop it up. I’m not sure if that means my case is defective or if it’s supposed to do that? I

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI love this case. I went to Best Buy to find a case, and they all seemed SOOO cheaply made. Plus they were made to stand up at all times, making it difficult to hold the ipad due to the bulkiness and shape. This case allows you to hold it while in bed or in a place you can’t stand it upright. And it’s easy to hold. The magnets are super strong and it does stay up on the fridge. Seems like a sturdy good quality case. When you want to stand it upright at the table or wherever, it’s solid in place and has like seven different angles. You do need to buy a separate screen protector tho. This doesn’t come with that. Also, I’m not a huge fan of the pen slot on the side. I don’t have a pen and so the slot bends quite a bit when I’m holding the ipad. I feel like I’ll break it or ruin the plastic eventually. But other than that, the case is perfect.

Replaced my old 12.9″ i-Pad Pro and got this case. Love it–really liked the old case I had as well, but this one is far superior. The supports are magnetic and are behind the i-Pad. Creates a very stable and secure “lock.” You can put the case on its side on the floor, and it will maintain its shape. You can pick it up, and the supports won’t slip out. My previous case had “grooves” on the front that the i-pad lower end slipped into. Not as secure, and the i-pad routinely slipped out of the grooves. The other nice thing about this case is that it closes securely (magnetically) and the back supports and both sides magnetically click together very easily. Construction is very sturdy. I’ve dropped my new i-pad on the floor and had no issues with damage. This case will hold your i-pad up sturdy on a mattress, on your lap, etc. Two major big thumbs up from me!! Like I said above, I thought my old 12.9″ i-pad case was great, until I got this one–and this one is vastly superior in every way!

I wanted a protective case from my iPad Pro but not one that was bulky. The ZUGU case is excellent since it is very slim and incorporates some great features – the stand feature works great with magnets allowing the stand feature to work at several angles without collapsing. The pencil can be stored in 2 places – one for charging or the sleeve that is incorporated into the back of the case. Cutouts for the speakers, power cord and microphones are perfect and the volume and power buttons work great. This is a great case and it is well worth the cost!

Golden Review Award: 306 From Our UsersThis is the best case I have ever purchased in my life! The first time I ordered one I wasn’t fortunate to try it because it was stolen by porch pirates! So recently I upgraded to the iPad Pro 2020 12.9 and decided to buy and thanks god this time it wasn’t stolen! So when I opened it, I loved the packaging how professional and neatly packaged. The durability seems framing unbrakable and I was so shocked that how it proctects the entire device from corner to corner. One detail that I loved was the fact that the inside has suede to Procter the screen and the rear of the tablet from scratching it self. Not only the suede protects the screen and the rear casing of your iPad but it gives it a luxurious look and feel. Good freaking job guys for the way this accessory was created because you can tell it was well thought out and not just some case built to just make a quick buck selling it cheap and low quality that you will be forced to buy another in a couple of months or your device will damaged little by little by the same cheap case protector. So I suggest For everyone or anyone to purchase their device protector from this brand.

    Thanks Zugu!

This case looks, protects and feel like 1 million bucks

Fantastic case! Ive been looking for a case for my new (2020) iPad Pro. I have the previous iPad Pro and used the Apple brand flip-case with the built in keyboard. I never got used to holding it with the lid on.. it was always in the way. And the “stand” function was junk. I draw ALOT on the iPad and the old case was useless for any functional angle. Plus the keyboard is crap. So I looked at a bunch of other options for my new iPad. SOOO glad I found this!

The case is very well made, and well thought out. I love the attention to detail; the pocket for the Apple Pencil + the molded slot for it to charge, the magnetic lid and stand.. the case material feels very sturdy and comfortable to hold, and it’s super light. I can set the magnetic stand at a comfortable angle to draw at and it stays in place!

Time will tell with durability.. only had it a few days.. but so far I’m really loving this case! A++

    This case is top tier!
Before I upgraded to my new 2020 iPad Pro (12″) I had the previous-gen iPad Pro in the most deluxe Otter Box case. Since iPads are so pricy I dropped as much money as I could to have the best case for it, but after several years I realized that the Otter Box case was overkill. Now with my new iPad, I tried to find a more suitable case for my needs. One that was sturdy, had a range of inclines, a place to store/protect my Apple Pencil, and covered all sides of my device.
It’s a demanding list, and I thought I’d have to compromise and settle with a not so great option, but then I found this one! It met all my requirements and after a month of using it, I AM IN LOVE!!! As an artist, drawing on this iPad with this case is comfortable and convenient. It’s light enough to carry around but firm enough to protect my device, looks sleek and minimal, and I have not one, but two places to store my Apple Pencil (one that allows the Pencil to attach magnetically for charging and connecting to the device).
I am a happy and grateful buyer and I can’t recommend this case enough. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Sleek, protective, and all around PERFECT!!!

I did a lot of research before buying this case and am very happy with my purchase. I have had it for about 4 months now and I can understand why people rave about it. They really thought of everything. It feels very high quality, looks sleek and is super sturdy. I feel liek my iPad is very protected. The magnets on the stand are really strong and I love how slim it is when you want to hold the iPad like a clipboard, without the stand. I normally hate folio cases because of the bulk added when you hold the iPad like a clipboard but this one is really nice and slim and the back panel doesn’t move when holding it like this. The different height and angle options of the stand is also great. I also like how the pen is protected by the case lip even when ont the outside mount charging. The only note I would make is that given that the stand magnets are so strong, this may not be best for older people with arthritis (or anyone with limited hand strength). My 90-year-old Gran has an iPad pro too and we wanted to get her this case but she couldn’t lift the stand out of the resting position because the magnets are so strong. However, I wouldn’t hold that against this company as the strong magnets are part of what makes this great. I also understand that 90-year-old Grandmas are not their target customers, but I did want to point this out in case others had limited hand strength. It isn’t noticeable at all for those with typical hand strength. Overall I love this case and have been recommending it to others.

I wish I could give 4.5 stars for this case. It is sturdy, protective, works well and the magnet is terrific both at keeping the iPad standing in landscape mode and for attaching to a magnetic surface. The on/off feature works when you close the folio and a magnet helps keep it closed.

While the case is slim, the one negative is that the case is very heavy. It turns the sleek, lightweight iPad Pro into a tank. Perhaps this is a feature, not a bug, as I am sure the iPad is better protected with a substantial case. However, I wish there were a “best of both worlds” option out there that offered protections and didn’t weigh down the device so much.

The pencil hold works quite both and allows the Apple pencil to charge while in place, and I like the secure elastic pencil holder on the back for when traveling. I’ve never actually had a problem with the pencil falling out of the charging spot, though I’m not traveling a whole lot right now.

Perhaps my favorite feature on this case are the various landscape angles available thanks to the 8 magnetic bevels. The magnet really holds it in place, and I’ve found I can type on the keyboard more like a normal keyboard with this case. It’s very useful. There’s not a “portrait” stand option.

Magnet is great. Sturdy case, but it is heavy.

Since I bought an IPad for largely drawing purposes, I wanted a case that was pretty low profile, but also felt pretty sturdy. I found this case highly recommended and so far like the build. Stand is convenient and nice, but not a huge need as I prefer holding it for rotating and personal security. The stand is very sturdy for those who wish to have something for notes, recipe reading, etc. Magnet is surprisingly strong and gets incredibly attached to metal. Lost my grip picking it up because I wasn’t expecting it to bear hug the super thin metal bar on my desk. This is an incredible case for overall use. Some people do say that it is pretty hard to get on and that is true, but it hasn’t caused any issues with button presses. I like that its snug on the case as I would really hate for my nice electronic to be cased in flimsy garbage that feels like it would protect against a pebble. For those using the apple pencil know that the pencil holder will snatch it from your hand when putting it in.

    – Handhabbarkeit soweit eigentlich ganz gut

    **EDIT 1/2021**
So, I took the case off today and realized the Apple pencil holder is sealed and does not make contact with the iPad. My bad. Love the case happy with the purchase.

This case is great and I’m pretty pleased with it. I do wish they would have changed some things. My biggest gripe is the Apple Pencil holder on the back. Why not just put that fabric in and out and make a pocket rather than just having it slide to the back of your iPad? Since there is already a holder for the pencil, this seems really unnecessary. The pencil would definitely scratch your pad after being taken in and out. Plus a bit of the back of the ipad is exposed. I also had a hell of a time trying to put it in the case. My best advice is to slip it in on one side and pull the rubber around the corners on the other side and work it in. I don’t know how I would take it out now to clean it.

Golden Review Award: 317 From Our UsersSo I’ve been looking for a portable case that allows me to use my ipad in my lap as I write, so I wanted something with a low enough angle to make that comfortable. I also wanted something that would protect my laptop and has a pocket for my pencil so I don’t have to charge it constantly. I found this case to be the best option, HOWEVER, I do wish it had some added features. This is a very well made case/cover (although mine did have some minor bubbles and peeling, which I don’t mind too much because the case fits so snugly and seems protective enough). I LOVE the texture, it’s kind of rubbery/silicon and there is some suede-y detailing, 10/10.

    My cons:
    – More angles. I wish this case went lower than its lowest setting when sitting flat. I know it uses the cover as the holder for the kickstand, but it would be nice if it maybe came with a detachable magnetic board that could extend past the cover to give more angles, if that makes sense. (the lowest setting seems to be around 35 degrees from my eyeball measurement) —- Seller if u are looking for ideas I have some on what this could look like, I can send some drawings of a prototype —-
    – the magnetic grooves don’t seem to hold up as well in the last two grooves, which is what I use this for most, and that’s pretty disappointing. I wish the magnets were stronger or the grooves were deeper at those angles.
    – This is totally personal preference but I wish it came with a pocket. I like keeping small notes/papers with my iPad and my last case had a pocket with a magnetic clasp. I LOVED that, and I think it could be a feature that could be added to this case without too much hassle as well.

Besides these cons, I LOVE this case. The cover is so beautifully designed, I love the suede-y detailing, it feels high quality, and I really appreciate the pencil pouch in the back because it makes me feel like my pencil is protected and that it will last longer (probably just subjective but it’s nice to have the piece of mind!)

So all in all, would buy again, but would also appreciate some added features for the price of this case (QUITE pricey, this is easily the most expensive case I’ve ever bought).

I bought this for my relatively new 2020 iPad Pro. I have had an earlier iPad Pro (2nd generation) with various cases. I haven’t had an Apple case because I didn’t care for the design. I had another brand that had a keyboard and worked pretty well but it was almost impossible to carry in a closed position without the music going on from just simple hand pressure on the front of the closed case…so that made it non-satisfactory. Then I had a fancy leather “bag” that looked great and smelled great but wasn’t practical because the iPad couldn’t be used “in” the case. So I gave up on cases unitil I saw Zuga with a credible number of decent reviews and decided to try it with my new 4th generation unit. Even though it does not have an integrated keyboard, I find it to be the best of the lot. First, it is well made (and even made in USA, I think). At first I was concerned that I couldn’t seem to force the iPad into it’s holder…it was very tight…but after I finally succeeded, I decided that what is hard to get in will also be hard to get out, i.e. if I drop it the iPad isn’t going to pop out and get broken anyway. Second, when the case is closed, it is very flat and the cover actually nests within the framework of the case, i.e. it’s not just magnetically sitting on the outside rim of the case, but actually is fitting within the case framework…flush. Third, it opens to multiple angles and positions and that feature has enough variations that one can get it set “just right.” Finally, the magnet really is strong enough to hold the unit firmly (not sliding around) on the refrigerator (or other ferrous surface)…not sure how or why I’ll use this feature, but it really does work. I have a separate (relatively inexpensive) BlueTooth keyboard (backlit) and mouse…separate items, different brands…which work very well with the setup. Actually, I find it MORE convenient to have the keyboard detached from the case/stand. So bottom line: at this point the Zuga may be the best iPad stand I’ve ever owned…going back to the very first iPad.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI researched for days before settling with the Zugu case, and was not disappointed.

A thoughtfully designed case that can be carried around confidently.
    Made of quality materials.
Sturdy at all levels of inclined display positions.
Apple Pencil charging port works well. Great to have an optional sleeve for storing the pencil when on the go.

Will update review in about 6 months on longevity of the beautiful colour and materials.

Delivered with a little story card detailing the journey of the entrepreneur who designed this case from cardboard cutouts, and his perseverance in bringing it to market.
While this case was on the higher end of the price range for iPad covers, there is value in the process and intention of creating a quality product and I felt great about my choice after reading the background.

Would be great to see recyclability of the product, potential disposal/re-use options for a later date (hopefully many, many years from now as I don’t plan on replacing my iPad until it disintegrates before my eyes lol).

Delivered earlier than indicated on Amazon 🙂

This is the second Zugu case I’ve purchased recently; waited until the boring black one had some “colorful” company. These are undoubtedly the best quality cases I’ve tried, and I’ve tried too many kinds.

My only ‘complaint’ is that their ‘blue’ or ‘red’ are not blue or red as seen of the pages of Amazon; in reality, they are ‘black-red’ or in my second case now, ‘black-blue’. I almost wanted to put my new ‘Navy blue’ one back in the box as I was initially convinced that it was black. Why oh why are so many companies afraid of bright colors; are they afraid they will insult some minority? Had my new ‘blue’ case sitting on a black chair, and I couldn’t find it for five minutes. Actually walked by it at least twice! The wife found it!

All in all, a relatively minor gripe, but I know I’m not the only one who likes colorful colors. If you’re okay with ‘black colors’, this case is the one to get as far as quality; just don’t place it on a dark background, like a black interior of a car — you’ll waste a lot of time searching .

To say that this case is basically a work of art is probably an understatement… it’s a snug, precision fit and keeps your iPad Pro 2020 safe no matter how many times your cats knock it off of the nightstand to lazily get into the window.

I hate those cats… so.. so very much. But I digress.

This case is beautiful inside and out, from the strength of the magnets to the soft liner that cradles your screen… it’s just well made. Period.

Is it a little pricy? I guess if you can put a price tag on perfection.

If you’re on the fence about purchasing this case… get off of it and just click the buy now button. You’re not going to be disappointed.

Did I mention that this thing is precision cut? The iPencil 2 storage is exact.

I have the UV / blue light screen protector on my iPad Pro and the case doesn’t interfere with it in the slightest.

Just buy it! Stop reading reviews… this case literally rocks the free world!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersOkay even though I have a 5 STAR REVIEW. I want to go over the NEGATIVES I experienced with this:

First, I tried ordering this last week when they had this nice brown leather color. It said it would take 5 days to ship, “ok no problem.” The day it was supposed to arrive, they had canceled the order and told me they had none in stock… WHY DID IT TAKE 5 days to tell me something like that??? Like if you told me like the day after I purchased it, that’s okay because I would’ve just bought another color. If you’re a true electronics person, you want to keep your new electronics safe and going a long time with out protection is worrisome. It ended up being fine because they immediately refunded my money and I ended up ordering this black one (from my pictures.

    Now, on to the POSITIVES:
This case is actually really great. It has numbers around so that you won’t have to worry about you screen being scratched or accidentally cracked from a drop AND your camera is safe from any table scratches.

If you have been reading some reviews that are like 3 or 4 (like I did before buying this product) you would’ve read something like “the pencil holder makes it so hard to take out” or “it’s impossible to take out my pencil.” I would like to say, I proved this theory is a myth. As you can see in my video, I can take it out very easily. The pencil holder is made of this soft fabric so that your pencil won’t scratch and that it’s tight enough to not fall out.

The buttons are not too hard to press ( which is a good thing because some of the bulky cases out there get like stiff and hard to push).

The stand is actually amazing, there 10 indentions for 10 different angles to put your iPad at. It’s actually amazing. Some cases only have like 3 and we all probably don’t use those exact 3. The fact that it’s magnetic, it’s a life changer. No more having to worry about your iPad falling from a little too much pressure placed on your ipad or a nudge.

It’s nice that this case is real leather, it’s worth the money I would say. And the black gives it a nice clean look!

    I would honestly recommend this!

This is the top ranking case for all times. Excellent look and equally great strength and protection.

    Features and functionality par excellence.

Strong magnets let you attach your ipad on a kitchen refrigerator while making your coffee etc.

The product is as described and of the highest quality. It fits my iPad Pro like a glove and is very sturdy while being thin and unobtrusive. Definitely a high end product at a fantastic price.

    Overall very nice case…
Pros: great for note taking/writing/drawing each angle is sturdy, magnetic structure is strong! Case is tough and solid, screen locking function when it is closed
Cons: button pads for the power and volume buttons are hard and sometimes don’t work (not what I want from such an expensive case) but I can live with it, pen holder doesn’t allow you have have a pen cover, doesn’t charge when it’s on, minimally sticks with the magnets. But without the cover that sucker stays there and charges – so not a deal breaker for me.

The fact that my pen will not be housed with the cover on it is okay. Would I buy it again? Yes. I heard the third party versions don’t have great magnetic features and the case is a little less sturdy.

Video shows that the pen will stick to the case, by it won’t hold on to it as tight compared to if it wasn’t in its silicone case.

    Great for taking notes!!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersTo be honest, the price of this is quite higher than all the other cases, but after reading lots of reviews, I finally gave it and bought it. It does add a bit of weight to it, but makes up for it with it’s protection. All sides are covered and it does have a raised bezel incase it falls on the screen side. I had bought AppleCare+, but I might get a refund because this case is all the protection I need.

    Update 12-28-22
It’s been 2 years and the case finally gave out. It’s a good protective case. I dropped it multiple times and my iPad Pro was just fine. Unfortunately, the kickstand was detaching from the case from the side so the kickstand kept falling flat and wouldn’t support holding up my iPad anymore. It’s the only thing that can go bad on this case. I tried super gluing it back to the case, but that only worked for a little while. Thankfully customer support sent me a replacement as this comes with lifetime warranty. I don’t know if I will buy this again after the replacement goes bad too. The only feature I used was the kickstand for streaming. The magnetic flap is cool, but totally useless.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersDon’t wast your time buying other I pad cases, unless you want one with key board . I tried many . Zugu is light , compact ,elegant , sturdy & the magnet is perfectly strong . I have given it four star because the edge (all round the case including the pencils area on top ) should be a bit softer to touch . Other wise it is perfect . if you use it on a desk or a tray You can get away using this case in the landscape as well as portrait mode . When the cover doesn’t accidentally opened like other cases . when you fold it ,the magnet attach the front part to the back with no annoying movement . Delivery was quick .

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis case is the only one you will need. After trying less expensive cases that feel flimsy in comparison, this case feels sturdy, functional and good looking. It will add some weight to the iPad but only slightly more than other cases. It feels protective and when you spend this kind of money on a device, it is worth it. My favourite features are the Apple Pencil holder, which charges seamlessly and the multi-angle stand. I also feel secure attaching it to a metal surface like a refrigerator because the magnets are very strong. This case feels excellent in the hands and looks amazing.

iPad cases are quite the topic in our household, which may indicate that we need to get out more. However, my spouse and I have tried all sorts of cases over the years, and because she and I have different needs, it’s led to a variety of cases parading in and out the door.

So, it was rather funny when, a month or so ago, while I was looking for a case for my shiny new 2020 12.9″ iPad Pro, she said, “Oh, I really love this one that I got recently. It’s the first one I haven’t wanted to send right back.” She took out her 2017 10.5″ iPad Pro with a purple Zugu case on it, and I started laughing. I said, “You mean like this one?” and walked into the office to return with my 2017 12.9″ iPad Pro that I use for work. TWO YEARS ago I bought the exact same case for my larger iPad. Since I’m visually-impaired, I use my iPad a good deal at work to read documents in meetings, go through manuals, and the like. I bought the case originally in 2018 because I liked the variable stand angles, the pencil holder, and the magnets that let me stick it to the side of a rack in the datacenter if I want my references close at hand.

Before coming back to Zugu, I tried a generic “smart case” clone as well as an expensive OtterBox case I ordered from Apple. Both went back quickly, as they just didn’t fit my needs. Especially the OttorBox, which surprised me. The buttons were mushy, and the top cover was really hard to open thanks to the flap to retain the Apple Pencil.

Now I have a Zugu case, and I couldn’t be happier. The buttons are crisp and tactile (especially handy if you triple-click the sleep/wake button to invert your screen all day), the rubber holder for the Apple Pencil makes a handy grip point, and the front cover is easy to open thanks to a tab at the bottom.

I think from now on I’ll try Zugu first. It may save a lot of return shipping.

Ottimo case.

Case provides good protection around the iPad in case of bumps.
The magnets are strong, making it very sturdy when using the stand.
The case overall feels very premium and durable.
It arrived 7 days earlier than the expected delivery which I was impressed by.

A perfect case except for one thing: The smallest of the acute angles is still quite large. What this means is that if you want the iPad to lie as flat as possible, but still on an angle, the angle will be steep.

When I take digital notes by writing with my Apple Pencil, I prefer my iPad to be flat on the table or as close to being flat on the table as possible. The further away from being flat on the table the harder I find it is to write. Comparing this case with a smart folio for iPad produced by Apple (see photo) demonstrates that Apple’s Smart Folio allows the iPad to be significantly closer to lying flat on the table (12) than the Zugu (25). I find the Zugu is not comfortable to write on in its most flat configuration (25). I prefer to leave the Zugu fully open and lying completely flat on the table, but neither position is as comfortable as Apple Smart Folio (12).

An unexpected bonus is being able to watch an iPad in bed. The Zugu case locks in such a sturdy configuration, that I can lock the screen rotation in landscape mode, and then place the iPad in portrait configuration on my bedside table. I can lie flat on my bed, resting my head on my pillow, looking at my iPad in the correct orientation without any concerns the iPad will fall over (see photo 2).

Caution digital note takers. Great for watching in bed. Almost perfect.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is a great case. It really closes all the gaps and gives raises edges on all the important parts. The magnetic easel part it very secure and allows for great working angles. Especially if you use the Apple pen. My brother purchased an iPad Pro and ordered the Apple branded folio from Apple. He figured it would be the best since it was Apple. However when he saw this folio he immediately regretted his purchase of the Apple folio. This is much better and cheaper. This folio you can tell has been very well designed and will sure to last. My only constructive criticism is I wish they had more colors. At the time of writing The only choice for me was black. My last criticism is the stretchy material on the back of the folio designed for the pen has a tendency to to get snagged on things when pen is inserted. I had the folio in a computer bag and had some Velcro somewhere that got a hold of it. So now I got some fuzzies. So just watch that kind of stuff. Overall I’m very happy with the purchase. It worth the money!

    Also eine eindeutige Emfehlung!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI just received my Zugu case for my new 12.9, 2020 iPad Pro. I have a Zugu for my 2018, IPad Pro 11 and love it . My objective is to utilize my IPad Pro’s as my primary device and need the case to be protective and flexible enough for a variety of tasks. I use my IPads as my day to day device for my consulting business and lean on the usual apps to meet those needs. I utilize the drawing function and note taking capability of the Apple Pencil regularly. As the work day ends, I use the IPad for music, Netflix and TV. When I need to do extensive typing, I connect my IPad with my Apple magic keyboard and mouse, if I am reviewing or editing, I just use the iPad. The Zugu case facilitates this multi purpose role for me. It provides maximum flexibility and simultaneous protection. It facilitates a modular application of the IPad and limits the restrictions that come from popular keyboard cases. For me it’s the perfect piece of a modular system founded on the iPad.

Golden Review Award: 114 From Our UsersThis case is great. I love it. The protection it’s give your iPad is unmatched. I was a little worried about how thick it would be but it’s actually thinner than I expected, but that doesn’t take away from how well it protects the device. The cut outs for the charger port is big enough for chargers or USB hubs that have a larger end. The speaker cutouts do not muffle the sound at all. These magnets are amazing as well. The stand has 10 different angles and the magnet basically “locks” it into position. The slot for the Apple Pencil is solid. I’ve seen a few ppl say they have difficulty getting the pencil out but I haven’t had any issues. I’ve found that if you put your thumb on the front of the slot for the pencil and use your pointer finger to “roll” the pencil towards you it comes out with no hesitation. I searched and read many reviews on many different cases, I even considered the magic keyboard case from Apple This was the better pick!!! You won’t be disappointed, it’s a MUST HAVE for your iPad. Protect your investment with this case., it’s well worth it!!

Golden Review Award: 500 From Our UsersI had gotten this case for my 2018 iPad Pro 12.9″ and LOVED it. I upgraded to the newest case when I upgraded to the 2020 4th gen iPad Pro 12.9″ and this case is even nicer. Super durable and sturdy. I love that the cover for the screen/kickstand does not just flop down if you move it on its side to store it or flip it on its screen. It stays closed. The wake and sleep works flawless my gen 2 pencil stays in the pencil slot and charges with no issues. This case seems super luxe. I find the magnets to be even stronger and it holds onto my refrigerator with no issues. I was nervous at first but it is suuuuper stuck on it with how strong the magnets are. So I have no concerns about It dropping. The edging around the screen and camera has a nice lip just like last time but this time it seems to be that leather like finish and looks even more nice. It’s a sleek durable case. I’ll forever continue to support this brand because I’m too picky to try and find a different one that meets my standards like the Zugu does. I honestly can’t recommend this case enough.

Golden Review Award: 511 From Our UsersYou look & look for a cover to protect our investment and end up being disappointed every time. Then I came across ZUGU. It is made extremely well using quality products. The main thing I wanted was a kickstand that had multiple angles – not some lid that folds into a triangles with no options or one with cheap plastic and 2 angles. This kickstand works so well – there is an e-book reading angle, typing angle, laying on the couch watching a movie on your chest angle, web surfing angle while laying in the bed, sitting at a table working on documents angle, laying on the floor playing video game angles – there are so many things we do with our iPad 10 and with all the notches in the kickstand you will find a position for anything.

I love this cover – my iPad feels very well protected and it is so functional. Worth every penny!!! It does not add bulk to the iPad like so many others do. The area where you charge your pencil is unobstructed and the area to where you can store pencil when it’s not charging is secure and works very well.

Thank you for making such a quality product!!!

Only suggestion I have is colors – navy, dark brown, etc. Then there is a Logitech I used on my 10′ iPad. It was a cover but the keyboard would magnetically attach and charge when iPad was charging. If you didn’t want the keyboard you just removed it. I loved that style because it was an all in one unit but yet could separate if keyboard when not needed. The kick stand opened to any angle you wanted. If you could add that the keyboard feature to this it would be perfect! If you want to know which Logitech I’m referring to just email me.

Golden Review Award: 212 From Our UsersBefore ordering this, I watched some videos on youtube and came to the conclusion that this Ipad Pro 2020 was a bit fragile compared to what I used. So I decided to buy a case, which would be able to protect my Ipad, fit tightly and be able to stay up in different angles. The case which fit all of these was this ZUGU case. The product arrived few days ago.
First thing to say is, I had a bit of trouble putting my Ipad in it, it fits really tightly. I was a bit scared of bending my Ipad while I forced it in, but it eventually fits in after a few tries. The case is sturdy, and makes the Ipad gain a bit of thickness which makes it easier to hold for me. The pencil charger part works well, I do admit it is a bit hard to take out the pencil after putting it in though. This case is sturdy, the magnet is strong ( haven’t tried it on a fridge though) and I can finally use my Ipad without worrying about it. I am totally satisfied. I won’t be comparing it to other models cause this is my first time buying from this brand but it is really good, if I ever need another case I will probably go for this again.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI am very pleased with the case! It is well made and should protect my expensive IPad Pro very well. It is not too bulky and not too flimsy. I bought it because I have a previous Zugu case for an older IPad and it protected it well. Customer service was great! I ordered my case some time ago and because their was a delay (probably due to COVID) they sent a very nice gift. They responded to my inquiries promptly. The case was tough to put on and took some time but I feel it fits well. If you are careful and patient, you should not bend your IPad. It does not interfere with my Paperlike screen protector. The pencil holder is nice but it is a bit difficult to get the pencil out of the grove at the top of landscape mode, but that is ok since I don’t use it that much. I have developed a technique now to remove it fairly easily. One could always store the pencil in the slip holder on the back if they use it a lot and just charge it periodically. I also wish other colors had been available at the time of my purchase. I highly recommend the case!

Golden Review Award: 334 From Our UsersFirst off, this is a cleverly designed and well made item. It holds the large iPad very securely in a tough protective case. The holder for the Pencil allows for it to be charged while keeping it pretty secure as well. If you need to keep the pencil even more secure, slip in the case’s pouch in the back. In terms of making the very thin, large, slippery, and seemingly fragile iPad easy to hold, this case is great: Just holding the iPad in it is comfortable; it has a number of angles to sit it at on a flat surface—and they work great on my lap, too—; and the ability to just stick it magnetically to a vertical metal surface is a great surprise. I hang the iPad that way in my studio, for reference photos, but also running a multi-timer for exercise (Makes me wish I had a surface like that in my kitchen.)
I expect this to be really durable based on the build quality and the feel of the materials, and gave that a 5 in the hopes I’m right.
Their customer service is also top-notch: when the case didn’t arrive on schedule (between the COVID-19-related problems and the deteriorating relationship between US & China, not a surprise), I received a nifty carry case as a consolation. I’m totally pleased with my purchase.
