These are great headphones that allow me to listen to music but I can still hear traffic whilst out running without spoiling the sound quality. They’re not the same as noise cancelling, in your ear, headphones but that’s not what I wanted anyway. Easy to use and a good price and they arrived promptly. I’m sure the music helps me run faster too. Win win!

My daughter showed me a pair she had bought. I must admit I was a bit unsure what sort of sound you would get but after trying them I was amazed. Went out and bought two pairs one for me and one for my wife. No more earphones falling out or hurting my ears. These phone are just the business great sound quality, easy to use and very comfortable to wear. All I can say is throw out your old earphones, ipods or cams and go and get a pai

I bought these to connect to my television via blue tooth. Using them I am able to listen to the television and still keep alert for sounds going on elsewhere, for example door bell, conversations etc.

I bought these a while ago, perfect for my daily use, great for the gym, great for work, perfect for long car drives when you want to talk to passengers and hear road noises while listening to the satnav through them.
    Charged by micro usb.

I have since upgraded to a newer model and they’re even better except for the unique charging cable.

The headphones are good for what I bought them for. I can cycle without worrying that i might miss a warning about any danger. They are light and they don’t make your ears sweat when you do activities. They are perfect for sports in a hot weather. The sound quality is as good as it can be for this type of headphones (definitely not an equipment for audiophiles) The battery lasts ok, but the headphones die almost straight away after low battery warning. On higher volume you can feel you can feel vibrations, I think they are stronger then on the other brand headphones of these type I tried.

It’s great not having something sticking directly into your ear, and being able to hear around you, however I’m constantly thinking about noise bleed. So I’m still getting used to hearing from the device and hearing around me at the same time.

I did wonder about these, I have not stopped using since receiving them. Comfortable, well made, durable. And the sound quality is far better than I expected. They come with ear plugs, when they are used the sound quality increases incredibly. I know, the whole idea is not to be doing that but should you want to just enjoy the music at home a bit more its an option. I would highly recommend. Mine did not come with a carry case, I saw after buying some do so read carefully as that would have been something that I would have liked to have. I highly recommend these.

Great for bike riding and exercising, love the reassurance that the headphones won’t fall off and you can still hear what’s going on around you whilst also enjoying the music. I have felt much safer on the roads. I have also used them to take calls from my mobile phone and the voice and noise clarity is great. Definitely worth spending that little bit extra, we love these and have purchased them three times for gifts for family and friends.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersLike many other reviewers, I sought out these headphones because of recurrent ear infections. I was advised to stop using in-ear headphones, which I did, but found that even wearing over-the-ear sets would set off a flare-up of infection – especially if worn when exercising. I had considered the more expensive Bose Frames (smart glasses) but decided they might not be suited year-round wear in the north-east of England. When I discovered AfterShokz existed I bought them straight away and found them to be comfortable, effective, to have good battery life and excellent Bluetooth connection. Most importantly my ears have cleared up.

An unexpected bonus has been that often I find I set out for a walk wearing my AfterShockz with a podcast playing, only to pause it when I notice a sound in my environment (possible because of the open ear design). Lately, this has mostly been birdsong now that spring is coming. Recently, on my first trip to town for months due to lockdown I paused my audio to listen to the slap and roll of skateboarders practicing on a city-centre monument and felt like I was in a cinema. I am someone who deals with sensory overload due to slow information processing (dyslexia). There is something about having the headset on, feeling it press securely but comfortably on my cheekbones, knowing that I am signaling that I have gone internal, that allows me to become attentive to my surroundings. I’m not sure this would warrant the 70 price tag for many, but for me and maybe for others dealing with sensory overstimulation (or want to remember what the world sounds like) I highly recommend them.

The sound quality of these headphones was better than I expected giving some of the reviews. It took some time to find where to balance them to get good sound quality at first but they’re really great once that’s mastered.

I use mine for running and find that the sound is clear enough when out and about but sometimes can be drowned out by traffic if on a busy road.

They’re good in the gym and I find there’s almost no sound leakage from them (if worn correctly).

I generally have to wear a buff or headband to make the sound quality better as I have a small head but the headphones do stay on by themselves without one. They have also stood up to torrential rain although I don’t think they’re meant to be waterproof.

I cannot have a phone all on them as the other person can’t hear me or I can’t hear them so I’d not recommend them for that. In general though these were a good purchase and good entry level bone conduction running headphones.

I really like these headphones. My only issue is with the paused button on the earpiece. You press once for pause then again to unpause. No matter how hard I try, when trying to unpause the music I always dial up the previously called phone number. Drives me mad so I have to get out my phone and unpause using the phone buttons instead. Other than that, love it.

So I’ve got through LOADS of wireless “sports” headphones over the years, and to say these are the best would be a MASSIVE understatement.

Every other set I’ve had has had issues with waterproofing, or has come out of my ears while running. I thought I’d bite the bullet and invest in some AfterShokz, and SO glad I did.

Sound has a tendency to be a little tinny on occasion, but that’s due to the way it conducts the sound through yer bones. They NEVER fall out/off (they can’t!) and never had a waterproofing issue with them.

Don’t make the mistake of buying multiple sets of cheaper headphones, just get these!

Having borrowed my other half’s bone conduction headphones before I wasn’t expecting the world’s greatest sound quality I have Bose headphones for that! But what these are fantastic for is being out running or walking and still being able to hear that car that’s coming up behind you or if you’re working from home still being able to hear the front door being knocked or the landline ringing. For that these are great. Also the simple controls for music and phone are a bonus. Also the fact that they seem to be more resilient to the great British weather.

  39. SusannaDunrossi says:

Use these to work with as I have tinnitus, taking and making calls for 7.5hrs a day – currently only need to charge them twice a week for this purpose, so battery a lot longer than I expected. Listening to music must use more power. People can hear my voice just fine, in fact better than another pair of bluetooth headphones I have. Doesn’t affect my tinnitus, as other over the ear headphones do.

Brilliant. I bought these because I get ear infections, even with over-the-ear cans. The sound quality is excellent, using a combination of bone conduction and open air tiny speakers angled towards your ears. I have not put in the ear plugs, but when I hold my ears closed the sound is still very good. No problems from anyone else using the microphones when I’ve called people. Being able to hold connections to 2 devices simultaneously is grea

Started looking into bone conduction after struggling with ear infections for ages, doctor said having my ears covered most of the day with a headset was a likely factor. This is highly unscientific, but my ear infections did become less frequent after using this.

This was the second bone conduction set I tried, the first one was low quality, too flimsy and didn’t “grab” my temples hard enough which hurt sound quality, and ultimately ended up snapping in the middle from regular usage. This one does the job marvellously and is built to last (I did snap my first pair but that was my fault, sat on it). Yes, with bone conduction the sound quality suffers, mainly the bass, so if you’re pedantic about that be aware it will be a trade-off. For me, it’s a worthy one. It also takes a while to get used to them, at first the vibrations around my temples felt strange and gave me very slight vertigo (which might have been from the ear infection, so take with a grain of salt), but after a few days I got totally used to it.

I now own 2 pairs of these, and couldn’t be more satisfied. Other than the weak bass, the only negatives on this one are that it sometimes can be a faff to keep synced with devices (most likely just Bluetooth being Bluetooth) and that you can’t use it while charging. Tried their wired version but it was quite bad – for some god forsaken reason they decided to add a USB powered battery AND an audio jack instead of no-battery USB, which beats their main advantage of addressing the charging issue. At the very least you can use the wired version while charging (mess of cables notwithstanding), which is good because the one I got came with a battery that doesn’t hold charge.

After months of wearing over-ear or in-ear headphones for work and for fitness my ears were suffering, so I bought these to try. It’s only day 2 but so far I’m very impressed. Pairing was easy, they are comfortable and the sound quality is excellent. It appears that the noise cancelling function is also very good but I’ve not tested this in earnest yet. They seem to grip well; I have a small head (crash helmet size S) and was worried they would fall off during exercise, especially as I have to wear them over spectacles, but they withstood a vigourous 45 minute rebounding session this morning and I only had to adjust them once – they stayed on. And my ears can breathe 🙂 So far delighted with my purchase!

I think the fact that they do not cancel noise is the plus part. I use them to listen to music and navigate in my noisy sports car. I can hear traffic and other noises. Have not tried the ear plugs supplied for noise cancellation, so can’t comment, TBH, I would use my standard noise cancelling ear phones on a plane . I had never cycled with music before; I felt that I wanted to hear other road users and I quite like spending a little time with just my own thoughts. Many of my longer rides are with mates, so no reason for music there in any case. During lockdown I decided to give it a go to break up the monotony of longer rides following recommendations from a couple of mates. Here are my first impressions.
Fit: Helmet (Kask) first, then AfterShokz then glasses (tried them under straps but found that uncomfortable). I had no interference issues between the increasing array of head gear.
On the road: I didn’t turn the volume up too much as even though they don’t physically block out any sound, I felt that I could not hear cars coming from behind early enough with the volume turned up. This had the effect that wind noise drowned out the music on downhills. Rather than turn up the volume I soon decided to pause music (single press on the left “earpiece”). This allowed me to enjoy the downhills and, more importantly, focus on not hitting any potholes – which is quite a challenge on our, often sun dappled, roads. On climbs the music was GREAT! It really made them go much faster and seemed to make them less painful.
Navigation: Google maps and Spotify play nicely together, and Google will provide directions even when the music is paused. I rode a well-known route but tested this and it is a feature I’ll definately use to explore in future.
Sound quality: OK, good enough, fit for purpose. Do they sound anything like Senn 660s? Of course not, but they are fine for sport or any other situation where awareness of other sound is desired. They seemed to be optimised for voice btw – could always hear Google’s lady well enough even when most of the music was drowned out by wind noise (google maps set to default, medium volume).
Calls: I made a call while out walking with them and the other party could understand me well enough, not used them for call while riding (would avoid in any case for safety reasons, through the ability to quickly take a call without digging the phone out of the back pocket could be useful).
Running: Not tried them yet, but did lend them to my son who, after wearing them few times, has now ordered his own pair (btw, because they don’t go into the ear no real hygiene issues with sharing these).
Summary: Great product and will definitely be using them both for navigation and for music on longer rides.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersReally pleased with the performance of these headphones. I have impaired hearing on my right side so I bought these to see if they would be an improvement for me over traditional headphones. The quality of the sound is very good, but as other reviewers have mentioned due to the method of sound transfer they are not going to be able to match the range of traditional head/earphones. However, I am very happy with the improved sound quality in my right ear when listening to music or spoken word. It has been a few years since I have been able to listen to music properly in something close to stereo.
Bluetooth connectivity is excellent, as is battery life. They are comfortable to wear, I find myself wearing them when working around the house, driving the car or connected up to the TV. You can even listen to them in bed if you wear them back to front!
If you have them too loud you do receive a slight tingle, but a slight reduction in volume will solve this.
Personally very satisfied with the build quality and performance of these bone conducting headphones and would recommend them to anyone, but especially to others like me with hearing issues, they may prove beneficial. I would definitely invest again if needed.

Bought these since I cannot wear normal headphones since I have tinnitus. The sound quality is brilliant and what I really like is that you can still hear everything around you.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThese are my first pair of bone conduction headphones. So far I have only been wearing them around the house. I will be taking them out on my bike tomorrow to see how they perform.
    The sound quality is very good considering they do not fit into your ears. I am sure that more expensive in the ear headphones will have better base and more clarity, but the point of these headphones is to be able to still hear what is going on around you. The website says the following;
The only official headphones chosen by England Athletics. Nothing in/on/over your ears. Our OPEN EAR DESIGN makes it safer for running, cycling and driving.
The headphones come with a protective bag and a micro usb charge cable. I don’t know at present how long a charge will last but I am sure these will be tested by myself on my bike and my wife who runs.
The overall build quality feels good and so far I am very pleased.

Very comfortable and good sound quality

These are fantastic. They are bone conductive so not noise cancelling, which is perfect for running in events where you need to be able to hear what is going on around you. Others cannot hear your music. They are comfortable.

Very good headphones for quiet runs, as soon as you hit busy roads you have to have the volume up full wack to hear anything apart from traffic noise. The idea is good so you can hear thing that may cause you harm if you couldn’t hear while wearing over/in ear headphones.

Got these as a gift for the woman as she has taken up running and they have gone down a treat! No complaints at all for the money spent!

A little uncomfortable as it presses into my head to make the best contact but I’m happy with it. I’ve used it a lot.

Used these for the first time at the weekend for my first 10km training run! I wasn’t sure if they would be any good but I was pleasantly surprised & very impressed once I’d worked out how to turn up the volume….thought you used the button on them but you should use your phone……stupid me!!!! I hate wearing anything in my ears & so these are fantastic. Like being able to hear other things going on around me, much safer & at the same time whilst listening to my playlist, a great sound, my run would have been so boring without them, can’t wait to go again! Love the colour too.

Used on a daily basis. From walking around the house listening to audio books, to going out for a run. Great idea really work, and are a lot safer as they keep you aware of your surroundings.

If there was a way to given this six stars for every category I definitely would.

Does not given you the discomfort of conventional earphones … where you always get that feeling of something stuffed in your ear. Also does not warm your ears so much that you end up sweating so much like headphones. And yet the clarity of the sound is still as excellent as some of the branded earphones out there! Whoever developed this technology deserves a … prize. I am guessing just like how Alexa was developed with the intention of making the world a better place for senior folk, this was developed with those of us with inner ear problems in mind… but look at the amazing stuff it has done for the rest!

The range is exceptional as well.

I am going to need to return mind and get another one as uhm… my head is too small for the normal sized one. Yeah I know… I will have to, as someone who is going through his mid-life crisis… get the mini ones, and those for swimming as well as I am an avid swimmer.

These were brought as a birthday present for my husband to wear when he goes running.
He thinks they’re a brilliant product. He can listen to & enjoy his music while running. They stay in place & he feels safe because he can hear everything around him & no more earache or buzzing after use unlike other earphones.

It doesn’t completely block noise but that’s why I love them. Ideal for running or even to use for music or audio books and still hear the children if playing or sleeping nearby. Sound quality is great, comfy to wear and great value for money. I would buy again.

These are my forth pair of bone conductor earphones. To be absolutely honest, these are no better than the cheaper ones I have tried. They are good for cycling and jogging but I haven’t noticed any difference between these and ones for a third if the price. Maybe they will last longer, I shall have to see. Cheaper ones have lasted about a year of being used daily.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI hate headphones. But someone showed me these and it caught my interest. I like to listen to music in the car but my wife doesn’t like my music, I like to listen to music when out cycling or my bike GPS but I need to listen for traffic too. These fit the bill totally on all counts. The music quality isn’t as good as pukka headphones or ear buds( which never stay in my ears anyway!!) but it’s good enough for me and the volume is fine too. I can answer and make phone calls on the headset too. Very useful feature I thought.
I wear glasses and these fit over them just fine so another question answered. Very pleased with them so far and would recommend them wholeheartedly.

I bought the titanium, then saw the Aeropex, I’m sending the this one back. You would be much better off saving your money for aeropex:

    – The level of comfort is significantly improved over the titanium. As a glasses user this was noticeably uncomfortable after 2-3 hours. You can lay down.

    – The audio is significantly better. Base is actually a thing.

    – Audio leak is lower.

    – Excellent for long use.

I’ve had a pair for over a year now,let my wife try them she has hearing problems and had given up listening to music because she had lost the definition between voice and instruments. She put mine on and could hear clearly again, she loves them.

I waited till these came down in price but really wish I’d got them sooner! Battery life is great. I listen to audiobooks when running alone. These mean I can still hear what is going on around me and the book helps me forget the miles
