Agonised over which one to buy. After hundreds of YouTube reviews went for the Brave 7 LE. Picture quality is brilliant. Packaging good but very different from the reviews which was strange. Accessories crammed somewhat but all present. Batteries fully charged out of the box.

Only negative is the sound which frankly ain’t good. Will see if there is a firmware update that may address that. Also doesn’t accept an external Mike which at this level is a disappointing aspect as the sound is poor.

I was looking for an adventure camera to fit on my Kayak that would give me good quality video. I have to say that I have been very impressed with this especially since the price is a lot cheaper than than the likes of a gopro. I find the picture quality to be good, although havent got a gopro to compare it with, but for my outdoor day shots it has been very clear.
The waterproof case has allowed me to take some underwater shots that really have come out well.
All in all a very good value camera that I’m very happy with.

I didnt want to waste a lot of money on the worlds leading brand and put it into this enviroment, but for a fraction of the cost the Akaso Brave 7 LE looked to me to be the best alternative action camera. It performed exactly as i suspected it would. We took it into this firehouse at work for just a few minutes and captured some amazing footage with it. The whole kit that came has everything you would ever need to get you going, spare batteries, fixings, mounts, everything. Even the packaging was impressive. Great product. Rich

    Does exactly what i wanted

Akaso Customer Services read my original Amazon review below and reached out to me via email. They have been very proactive and supportive since I bought my camera. They were concerned that I was a bit disappointed with my purchase and wanted to make things right with either a refund or another camera FOC. I opted for a new camera, wondering what they would supply. They sent another identical camera, which I am very grateful for – 2 is better than 1! After using the original camera more I am a bit more impressed by its EIS and 2.7K/60FPS smoothness but I still think it ultimately lacks its 4K performance. However, I have raised the camera rating from 3 to 4 stars overall.

I can honestly say that Akaso Customer Services does get a full 5 star rating – they have been excellent, responsive and genuinely appear to care about their customer’s experience with their products. It’s been a very positive experience.

    Original Review (3 Stars)
The appeal of this cost effective, feature leaden action camera made me decide to try it out.

The 4k spec’, other features and accessories pack supplied are a big draw but ultimately the camera image quality is just not good enough. You can get decent quality video with very high light levels but its doesn’t feel or look 4k levels of quality. In anything other than very bright light then the video quality drops off pretty horrendously, quickly getting all smeary and blurry. The inbuilt image stabilisation is useful up to a point, but not stellar – a gimbal system is required. I just don’t think the sensor is that good and I think AKASO might be trying to mask its shortfalls with other high-end features. The touch screen system is pretty slick and responsive, however.

GoPro’s are really over-priced but if you need high quality action cam video, in this case I guess you have to pay.

They try to lure you in with a high spec and a good price – but ultimately the camera isn’t quite good enough.

    Disappointing

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is a fantastic little action camera for the price. I bought this camera to record road trips and for it’s price it does a very good job. The camera itself feels good and is well made, I was expecting it to feel cheap to be honest but I’m pleased to say that wasn’t the case. Picture quality is good with surprisingly good stabilisation considering my ride can be quite shaky at times, especially off road, it’s no GoPro in terms of stabilisation but it costs a quarter of the price of the latest GoPro so no complaints there.

The software was easy to use and does what I need. it came with all the mounts needed to attach it to things like helmets but unfortunately that’s where we lose a star because the materials used aren’t up to the job. 3 of the clips broke while clipping the mount in. I had to buy some others from a different company in the end. This was the only downside to what is otherwise an excellent budget camera that I still recommend.

I’m amazed by the price. Feels rugged and perfect for my needs. After checking loads of reviews and comparing all of the Akaso models this one came out tops with screens on both sides (the small front one is handy for framing shots but that’s about all!). Double battery with charger is fantastic and there were a load of extras in box. Only pity is tgat you can’t add an external mic. Being water resistant without the waterproof case is excellent for the price. Glad I didn’t spend a fortune on a Go Pro – this should be spot on for my holiday and means if it did get lost then I wouldn’t have spent a fortune.

Camera was purchased to replace one that was not working properly and did not record efficiently. The Brave 7 LE is much better, it seems very reliable (only used ‘in anger’ twice so far) giving good results and performance. It is used for cycle rides of about three hours so the two batteries are perfect as they last for about 1 hour 40 minutes each on the setting used (1080p 60fps). The remote control works well and makes starting and stopping the camera easy even when ‘togged up’ for cycling with gloves etc. The image stabilization delivers a rock steady image even when traversing rough terrain (I ride a hybrid bike on roads and tracks). Very pleased with the camera so far.

I’ve not tested the camera on a chest mount on a bike ride. It performed very well and was impressed with the video footage. I would say dark areas can lose picture quality but again its not a GoPro and I didn’t want to spend out on a camera that will take a beating not jut by me but my kids too.

I wanted to replace my 6 year old action cam. I really wanted a Go Pro but for what I wanted it for and the number of times I would use it, I really couldn’t justify the price. This camera is almost a third of the price of a Go Pro but only a little less of the quality. So yes, it is not quite as a good a picture. Its sound is not as good either. But for me and for the price it is great. I do like the fact you don’t need the waterproof case for just a bit of swimming and messing around in the pool.

I’m using the camera in my work as a bushcraft instructor to record some of the activities we do I. All weathers so the additional waterproof case included is perfect! Quality is just as good as the GoPro hero black I sold last year. After some online research and a tighter budget this looked great and I’ve not been disappointed at all! Cracking bit of kit!

I have used the camera solely for documenting my grand children’s progress through walking, talking using their first bikes and being alongside them on their travels with my helmet mounted Akaso brave 7LE. The quality has been excellent the image stabilisation has been more than adequate for my needs and with the camera being weatherproof aswell as having a waterproof case has been a godsend when using it for childrens parties. The battery power is great and there are loads of attachments for all sorts of eventualities. I have been very impressed with the quality and would certainly recommend.

Recently used on honeymoon, with diving, swimming, on the beach and the camera was perfect. I’ve had go pro and this is just as good for those that can’t justify extortionate prices. Great that you get two batteries, easy to connect to my phone to view and download photos. So a big A+ from me.

Why pay a fortune for a GoPro????

With this product I initially really liked how it arrived. It came with multiple different accessories including a waterproof case and thorough instructions, these accessories especially after using them are robust and I can tell will last a long time. I have taken this camera underwater, on bumpy rides and as a photo camera and the image quality turned out great, the sound it also good as well! It comes with multiple different settings and feels like quality, I would recommend this to anyone who is going on an adventure!

Previously I had a gopro(2011) which got lost to the sea while stand-up paddle boarding. I was reluctant to splash the cash on a replacement since I am less active these days.
After plenty of researching this is where I ended up. And happy for it.
For the price you get not just the camera but plenty of extras. The camera was also compatible with all my old gopro stuff.
Build quality is brilliant. The WiFi sync is great for getting media off the camera straight away. Early days using it, but very happy so far.
Two items which I had already but do not come in the pack, that I would recommend: a selfie stick and a floating handle

I am really happy with this camera. It’s very good for its price. It does all it says on the ticket. It has lots of modes and useful features. I mainly used the high res video and the diving mode. It’s not a high end camera but good enough for occasional dive photography.

The accessories it comes with, are a huge bonus. I bought it mainly to use while scuba diving and the waterproof housing was brilliant down to 24 metres. The buttons on it are large enough to use with 5 mm thick gloves.

The connection to the mobile app was easy enough although a bit slow. I was able to download my videos easily. I still needed to compensate for under water lack of red colour so I needed another app but no big deal.

The only thing I noticed that can be improved is the motion stabilisation for videos. I needed to tweak the settings a bit and be careful while shooting. I haven’t used it in recording high speed sports so not sure how it will do. But overall, I am happy with it.

This is a fantastic little action camera especially for the low price, when I took the punt I wasn’t expecting it to be as good as it is, but I was very pleasantly surprised, especially since I use this primarily mounted on my motorbike for long drives and action shots, the imagine stabilisation does the job to keep my footage from shaking all over the place, which I was honestly wasn’t expecting it to be as good as it is for the price. Initially just wanted something to use for a while with my gopro broken, meaning to replace it, but now I won’t be and have been thinking of buying another! Overall extremely happy with my purchase.

This camera is great! From picture quality to usability. Its very easy to get to grips of using and changing between video and camera.

It says its waterproof without case however I wouldn’t recommend this, I used in a pool not submerged for a long time, but the whole of the inside got soaked and stopped working. My pictures were still saved thoouhj so I could retrieve!
A replacement was sent out right away!
There are few extra catches on the inside to stop water getting in this time. But I will not be putting underwater without the case! On a bike and in rain I would be happy without the case.

Overall I would recommend this camera!

This is a good solid GoPro alternative. It lacks the PAL frame rates which is a disadvantage in my use, but almost all GoPro lookalikes are the same, if you want 50fps you pretty much have to go for the real thing. The other gripe is that it doesn’t work with Integral 64gb memory cards. It’s fine with Samsung and SanDisk 128gb but just refuses to acknowledge the Integral cards.

I bought this camera as a beginner camera for my 11 year old son. It has a high quality finish and is simple to use, the down side was the camera came with no instructions or link to where there was any online. Having said this I have had no experience with action cameras and figured out how to use it easily enough with a bit of trial and error. It came with several fixtures and fittings but due to no instructions I’m not sure what some are for. It comes with a protective case which works effectively but prevents use of the touchscreen. 2 batteries were supplied and they charge quick enough although they could do with lasting longer in use.
Having said all this it is a great camera and fulfills all that I desired for the purpose I bought it for and would recommend it to anyone who wants a lower cost camera for a beginner.

I bought this for myself as a Xmas present. I’m very impressed with all the features that camera has, and all the accessories it comes with, including a wrist band remote control.
Dual screens mean I can mount it on my kayak looking back at myself and check what’s in shot, as well as the usual looking forwards.
Having 2 batteries means it has enough power to last most of the day (i’ll mostly use it for recording highlights of angling trips on the shore and kayak) and it’s waterproof enclosure keeps it dry.
Picture quality is good, I’m using it on 1080p x 60fps mostly although 4k is available if i ever need it.
Setting up with the 2 suggested apps was a bit of a faf but once done, has been working well since, if a little laggy.
The touch screen is great for changing settings (when not in the enclosure) and there are many configurations that suit most uses I’ll have for it.
For the money – great value.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersCamera arrived and it really is a gem. Popped memory card in the rather inaccessible slot and switched on. All perfectly good! Tried the remote. It’s quite different from the one shown in the online manual however. It didn’t work! Battery flat or not fitted perhaps…?? What to do? Return item as faulty? Or remove the back of the remote and see if there is a battery fitted and replace…? So that’s what I did, only to discover the remote is now fitted with a rechargeable battery and an external USB socket covered by a small rubber cover. Oh Akaso why on earth haven’t you updated your manual – it would have saved me so much worry. But with the remote now working fine it’s just a great camera which performs just like I’d hoped. I’ve set it up at 1080p x 30fps which gives me a quality video and reasonable file size. The image stabilisation works just how I hoped without any noticeable softening. For under 120 you simply can’t go wrong.

I nearly returned this - read why....

Fantastic a gift at the price, one for that Christmas stocking, ignore the doubters and treat that action person or just someone who wants something that is easy to use and takes up hardly any space for those walks with the dog or fun with the children, sports days, etc, those special people or moments in ones life, you won’t regret it, show me a product that is perfect and I’ll find a fault or should I say, something that can be improved, this has everything including the accessories and two batteries and charger, a waterproof case for those intending ongoing deeper than the 3ft without.

You can obviously read what Akaso say what this camera can do. I use it as a helmet cam when mountain biking over very rough terrain. The stabilisation is superb, you’d think it was on a mechanical gimbal, it’s that good. The picture quality is brilliant, I have a QLED 4k TV and the picture is stunning even when I’m going down really bumpy trails where the light is poor because of the forest. The interface is very good so using the camera is really simple. The remote wristband works very well and is brilliant when using the camera as a headcam. The different mounts are all solidly made and work well. My friend has a gopro 10 and I can’t see much difference between them except the chasm in price. All in all, Akaso have produced a brilliant camera for all outdoor activities.

Golden Review Award: 21 From Our UsersI had high hopes after reading some of the 5 star reviews. Nice interface and easy to use although I never managed to connect to the app. Charged it up and went out excited to capture some decent quality footage. The quality is terrible, It might well be 4K, the file size is certainly huge, but what is the point of having 4K of soft focus, blurry, dull, low contrast video. I couldn’t believe just how bad it was. I dug out a 10 year old MUVI 1080P from the back of the draw and after a charge it came to life. Doing a direct comparison between this 10 year old low tech 1080P and the brand new high tech 4K Akaso I can honestly say the old MUVI is sharper, has more contrast and produces a brighter overall video. One example is the roof of a barn 200 meters away from my home. The roof is corrugated concrete sheet with sky lights. The new Akaso in 4K renders this as a uniform grey roof with no texture or features, but the old MUVI in 1080P shows every corrugation and detail of the sky lights. I have returned it as not fit for purpose. UPDATE PLEASE READ ON – Akaso read my original 2 star review, and even though I had returned the camera and received a full refund, they really wanted to look into this further. It seems the original camera I received (and returned) was actually faulty. Akaso provided another one which I have since tried, same make and model. It is considerably better. A real joy to use, it produces high quality, well focused video footage with nice bright saturated colours. The sound is a little muted, but if you main use is action/holiday/family videos where sound is not the most important part I think you would be very pleased with the Akaso Brave LE7. Akaso really seem to care about their brand which makes a refreshing change compared to some companies.

I bought this to replace my Tom Tom Bandit – it falls short
It’s a bit too heavy to mount on the helmet.
On the 1080P60fps setting – the quality is just about ok and the stabilisation seems to make it float along in slow motion – on this setting I just about got 2hours, and about 25% memory usage.
There is a second battery, which should increase the time to 4 hours – but it is a fiddle changing the battery – having to remove the camera and the mounting screw.
It is not possible to plug the camera into the pc to review video – have to remove the memory card, fit in an adapter and then put in the pc not ideal.
If the Bandit was still a viable option – I would have bought another.
The Bandit is also a better shape.

I originally bought this camera to film long bike rides and it does this well enough. The 64gb max memory, battery life and image stabilisation are all pretty good, and they do a tough job adequately (if unexcitingly) well. Not as good as some I’m sure, but a fraction of the price, so overall I’m happy with that aspect.

What surprised me, though, is how well it did on other things… videos of my kids learning to swim in the pool on holiday are frankly worth the price on their own! The image quality, especially in bright light and with moderate shaking, is great and even the sound quality is decent, although I wasn’t especially bothered with that before. You get a great range of accessories, for a myriad of purposes too.

I know this is a budget version, but it’s still a fair wedge of cash, especially compared to the ‘extra’ budget cameras you can get, so I was bit hesitant to take a punt on it, but I’m glad I did. If you want something better than average, but still decently priced, this is definitely worth considering.

I was on the lookout for my first action camera and on doing a bit on-line research the brand Akaso cropped up, so I checked out some YouTube videos and they looked ok, I was hoping to get the Akaso 6 plus or Brave 7 but couldn’t find them on Amazon so decided just to take a chance on the 7 le, I haven’t actually gotten the chance to test it out and about due to contracting the C virus so have been stuck in doors.
I have managed to take a couple of snaps and a short time lapse video from my bedroom window (not very exciting). The image quality looks ok and I am hoping to test it out properly when I go to the lake district in a month’s time. The camera comes with an impressive amount of accessories including waterproof case, two batteries and remote control watch which seems to work well enough. The camera feels well built with an easy to use touch screen though the the compartment covers for the battery and connection ports are difficult to open but this is due to the fact it is waterproof and they need to be tight fitting. I would say this would be a good first action cam, not to expensive and comes with almost everything you need, I did purchase some extra bits a case and other attachments. So for a first action camera I would say its a good buy.
Note – My firs pic showing the Akaso bundle was taken with my phone and not the Akaso 7 le.

The build quality is amazing, the video quality is great, and the image stabilisation works really well, il be using this for Motovlogging and having used it once I can already see there won’t be any problems, especially with the remote control that comes in the box. Loads of mounts in the box. Would definitely recommend this to people!!

The Camera – This little camera is so good! I’ve seen good reviews on YouTube but did not expect this quality for the price! Forget GoPro if you are just want to record some casual footage, this is more than good enough, it really is superb (I tested for Mountain Biking). The first thing I did when I received the camera was attach it to my bike handlebars (using the supplied accessories) and went for a quick spin through some open roads and through tree covered rough woodland. The quality is brilliant in sunlight and in the shaded woods and it is pretty quick to adjust when entering the sunlight out of the woodland. The image stabilisation works a treat! No jerky footage. He camera picks up the wind pretty bad and the mic audio is a quiet which are the only downsides to the footage, image quality is brilliant (I used 4K @ 30FPS). The build quality is amazing, nice and heavy and feels solid and such good quality, again much better than I anticipated. Nice that its waterproof without a case, I hate the waterproof housings when I’m not using it for diving.

Accessories – love the little battery docking station! And nice to get 2 batteries, although I will need more for taking the cam out for longer sessions, if recording a lot of clips, but still a decent amount of footage can be recorded using the 2 batteries. There are also a lot of accessories, with a good amount of bracket adapters, which I’m not sure what they are all for. It is nice to have a lot and a great starter pack (although one of the hand bolt things broke immediately when attempting to tighten the camera to the bracket). The only issue I have is the camera seems to slip on the bracket and fall sideways as the attachments don’t grip and slide easily. I’ve Velcro’d the helmet attachment to my helmet and seems to do the job but I’m not 100% confident it wont slide around a little. The go pro mount that came with my helmet (now lost) was much more secure but at this price it’s nice to have the accessories included. As I say a good starter pack and then better quality attachments can be purchased when you know what you need and what type of attachments works for you. The wireless watch remote to record footage and take photo’s is great to use too, especially if the cam is mounted on your helmet for example.

Lover this little camera and I’m looking forward to taking it out on my next mountain bike ride ride!

Camera feels well made and solid.
rear touch screen is easy to use to navigate through the settings menus. My fat fingers did occasionally change settings between shot while holding (more user error, but be careful when holding and check the settings read out on screen)
Dual screens is a bonus. Only the rear camera is a touch screen.

Battery life so far has been about hour per battery. The rear screen turns itself off after a couple of minutes when recording and the camera can be set to power off automatically when not in use.
That the camera comes with 2 batteries & a charger that will take both batteries at once is a great addition. Additionally, a power cable can be connected while in use, with a driving setting and loop recording mode means it could be used as a dash camera. (Driving mode the camera will automatically switch on and start recording when it gets power, loop mode means it will automatically split videos into 1/3/5min segments and overwrite the oldest video file on the card when the card is full.)

Camera comes with a wide variety of mounts, couple of straps & waterproof case. Though it doesn’t come with a hand grip or tripod.

    Have put in a 128Gb SD card which will hold around 5 1/2hrs at full 4K @ 30fps or around 12hrs at 1080 @ 30fps

Usage wise – the picture is very good. Image stabilisation is a must. Have found while the wind reduction helps a little, the microphone still suffers from picking up a lot of wind noise, and as the camera is not compatible with an external mic, alternative methods need to be found – either fitting a foam cover over the camera, or using a separate sound recorder.
The included remote on a watch strap means you can start/stop videos and take pictures without touching the camera. In addition there is an app from which you can remotely control the camera and change settings.

Size is compact, 2 batteries are easy to charge, a bit fiddly to open the battery and usb compartments. But other than that excellent and easy to use. Good quality, excellent for adventures and on the go.

I was looking at investing in a GoPro however after alot if research I cam across this. As well as being in the top 10 with with GoPro cameras this is the next best thing at a fraction of the price. Very easy to set up although can be quite fiddly. Am using a 64GB memory card and looking forward to trying it out.

This camera is amazing value for money. Bought this for our family holiday originally. The picture quality is perfect for what we needed and the video quality is great! Comes with all the attachments to get you going but we bought a few extras just in case. We now use this camera all the time. Great for paddle boarding in the sea and rivers to capture our family moments together with out having to worry about it getting wet.. I have a go pro I use for work and I can honestly say that the AKASO Brave 7 LE is a great competitor/alternative. Can’t express how great the value is for money. I would highly recommend this to anyone!

Don’t look any further and get one bought!

Definitely a nice little package for the price. Bundled accessories for days and the Bluetooth controller will be really useful for when the camera is out of reach to capture that epic photo. The wide angle lens is nice but I like that you can change it to avoid the fisheye effect of you’re just targeting a single subject or for vlogging. Nice work Akaso!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersCan’t recommend this camera highly enough! The quality of the AKASO Brave 7 LE is beyond compare for a budget price. If you price a GoPro with a similar spec, it’s 3 times the price and is no way 3 times better. Additionally, you get a plethora of bracket options, a waterproof case (that enables shooting down to over 130ft), a wrist strap remote control, two Li batteries and a neat little charger. If you actually price these onto the GoPro and it’s close to 4 times the price. The quality of construction also surpassed my expectations, put it this way.I wouldn’t want to drop it on my toes. The only very slight negative is its ability to shoot at night but in daylight the clarity is just outstanding. Wish I could give it 10 stars!

The Akaso Brave 7 LE is an amazing budget action cam. The image stabilisation sets it apart from what their budget action cams, it works really well. Battery life is good, the interchangable batteries means you can have one in the camera and an extra one charging. The charger runs well off a USB battery bank so no issues when you’re out and about.
Sound quality is OK, but not great. I record sound separately using an external mic and my mobile phone and then combine the two together afterwards.

The Akaso Brave 7 LE is sturdily built.. Image stabilisation is not bad and picture quality is generally pretty good other than in low light. Would have preferred the remote control that comes with the Brave 7. It ships with the dive case but not a ‘land’ case to connect the various mounting accessories to which is odd.

So far, it has been fantastic for the price point. Yes, I’m sure a go pro 9 (at nearly 4 times the price!!) Has better image stabilisation, better audio and better picture quality, but at this price, you can’t really complain. Remote control is a nice touch and works a treat up to about 10metres away. Time will tell how long it lasts, but for the moment I have to say- akaso- great work!!!

I have been using the Akaso 7LE camera for a month. It is a great camera, easy to use, made of very high quality materials with very good resolution and image stabilization. I have nothing to complain about when I use it to record playing with a dog or to record a trip while cycling. The camera shows the reality of colors and the microphone is sufficient. Of course, you do not expect great sound in strong winds, you will need a microphone attached. My children enjoy using the camera underwater in a swimming pool or during a recent trip to the lake. I have recommended this camera to my friend and they are also enjoying it. So I also recommend it to you for the money it is really worth.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis action camera is great value for money. I am using it as a helmet cam or handlebar mounted. Video resolution I am using is 2.7k/30FPS and the results are fantastic. The image stabilisation gets top marks too. I do some road work, but mostly cycle paths. These are not always a smooth ride, but you would find it hard to tell. (Remember to tighten your mounting brackets as much as possible too avoid vibration). The remote control is handy, when I remember to take it with me! Touch Screen works well. The app is sometimes takes a couple of attempts to connect, but you get used to it. As far as I am concerned, it it unlikely to go under water, so no review on that. I review and test a variety of action cams on my bike, different makes and models and different mounting positions. I purchased all the cams that I have and enjoy comparing them. From Akaso I am currently using the Brave 7 LE and the V50 Elite and am already looking forward to the next release! Finally, Customer Service, these guys do a wonderful job, helpful and knowledgeable, keep up the good work…Freddie

Good for 125 on offer. The video quality is good for the price, but as others have mentioned it’s a bit washed out on lower light / indoors. The app is okay, but has problems connecting directly to the Wi-Fi on the camera if mobile data is enabled (hopefully this will be fixed in an update). The camera can also be accessed using a PC by connecting to it over Wi-Fi and going to ftp://192.168.1.1 in Windows Explorer. Nice to see they’ve kept this open for end users so that the app doesn’t have to be used.

Golden Review Award: 27 From Our UsersI cant justify the cost of a GoPro but I’ve always been disappointed by the video and picture quality of cheaper options. I’m pleased to say the Brave 7 LE produces some great video and still photos. I can’t fault the device and the standout points are as follows:

    1. Pictures and videos are good quality and the image stabilisation does a great job of keeping things watchable from bumpy off road trail rides.

    2. Another killer of cheaper action cameras after poor footage/pics is the often terrible user interface. Instead the akaso is logical and easy to understand and remember the controls. The app connects your phone and the Brave the first time without faff. The wrist mounted remote control works well and has separate buttons for video and stills so no need to change the settings on the camera when the time comes.

    3. The supplied accessories are numerous, a waterproof case, plenty of brackets, mounts etc are included along with a twin battery charger and two batteries!

    4. Battery life seems good, a single battery lasted a day out on the bike with a handful of 4k videos and numerous still pics taken. A 64gb card holds thousands of the highest resolution images the Brave can take (20mp) and a couple of hours of 4k video.

    5. The buttons on the Brave are easy to operate and the twin screens are very useful. The standard tripod thread is great for using a Gorilla pod or similar.

In short I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this to someone looking to get an action camera.

Great value alternative to a GoPro!

This product is a very good alternative to a go pro. I bought this originally for to capture moments on horse back, I now bring it everywhere I go. It’s also able to capture great moments when swimming as the waterproof case is really strong and sturdy.
The case takes a little while to figure it out but is completely sealed and won’t let a drop of water in. I have not taken the case off for fear of it getting wet while out and about but the camera itself is supposed to be waterproof.
Came very soon after I purchased which I was super happy about. Also came with a lot of accessories which I did not expect (see attached pictures), however there was a few parts missing which was originally said on the box like a USB cable, was also supposed to come with 8 mounts which I did not receive.
The battery lasts really long which is very useful when going on long trecks, it also comes with 2 battery’s so you get double the amount of time. The battery charges up really quickly and you get a little over 1 hour at 4k (longer at lower resolutions).
Coming from a person who doesn’t understand a lot about different settings for different situations the default settings on the camera pretty much suffice every situation. (You can however play around with it and the AKASO website provides a lot of information)
It also comes with an easy guide to set up and you can download the detailed manual if you wish.
The AKASO go app was really easy to find, install and connect up to my camera. Took about 5 minutes and your able to control the camera from the app which is really useful for taking pictures or videos far away from the camera, this is useful for not having super long videos until you get set up which also saves on battery’s and editing time later. The camera also comes with a remote watch to control the whether you want to take a picture or a video.
The sound on the camera is a lot better than I expected, it picks up you speaking really clearly and it doesn’t pick up the sound of the wind which I was afraid of.
All in all very happy with my purchase and I would recommend as a cheaper alternative to the go pro cameras.

Excellent alternative to a go pro

This camera is better than my AKASO v50 pro.
This is the best of AKASO camera brave series in my opinion, but doesn’t have 4K with 60 FPS only has 4K 30 FPS, 2.7k with 60 FPS, 1080p with 120 FPS and lower. This isn’t GoPro quality but the price is much cheaper than GoPros.

I would recommend this camera to anyone looking to find a affordable action camera, Doesn’t come with everything needed but have not had any problems with this at all and it charges fairly quickly.

    Comes with:

    Brave 7 LE

    Waterproof housing

    Handle bar / Pole mount

    Mount 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8

    2x Helmet mounts

USB cable, so you can charge you camera on the go, or plug it into your computer so you don’t need to remove the micro SD card. (SD card not included)

2x batteries + charger (2 slot) so you can charge both batteries at the same time.

Remote control (Camera button and record button)

    Bandages (Attachments)
Tethers 3x plastic and 1x metal

    Lens Cloth

    Quick start guide.

A bit disappointed that it doesn’t come with a micro SD card, but they are fairly cheap.

Update: The customer service is great and are relatively quick.

Great little camera for the money, the 4k video footage is pretty good and the photos are sharp.

The image stabilization is good for bigger movements, it struggles a bit in the car with lots of micro bumps but it’s easily cleaned up in post so no problem for me. I’ve been using mine in a bit of wind and the mic can’t really handle it. So if you’re outside, on the car anywhere with some wind involved I would suggest picking up a mic and recorder.

Overall the features of the camera and the 4k quality is really good, the front-facing camera is soo handy when setting up the shot in an awkward angle quickly without needing the phone. I would say you get a lot for your money when paying 1/3 the price of a go pro.

Got this delivered today, installed a fully charged battery, micro SD card, attached to my bike and went for a ride.
    So far so good!
This is a sturdy little camera, very surprisingly so for the price point. It feels extremely robust and as it has IPX7, I will be using it confidently without the supplied fully submergible case through all weathers whilst riding.
The noise reduction and image stabilisation is again, very good for what you have to shell out here. 4K at 30fps is not noisy or pixelated which suggest the optics, hardware and firmware have been cost optimised without impacting quality in the final product.
I’ve never heard of this company but I’m curious as to the other items in their portfolio.
This will be the default fixture on my mountain bike for a long time……note that you get two batteries which is a god send on a long ride but (although not tested) 60 minutes is not enough to fit in with the usual riding time I take part in.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersThis is a very good camera with great features at a good price.

The camera is nice and soild not sure if it’s made of metal but it feels like it.

It turns on in one second floor which is nice and fast

The image stabilisation is a must, I have my camera on top of my cycle helmet and the video is very smooth.

It comes with two batteries so you never run out of power.

It comes with loads of attachments to help fit it to your bike or helmet.

The only negatives are the hatch for the battery compartment has foam underneath and this makes it very difficult to open and

You have to use two hands and prise it open with your finger nail as it’s very stiff and when in the plastic case you don’t hear anything from the microphone.

But it’s waterproof without the case so you don’t have to use it

That said I am very impressed with this camera and I highly recommend it to anyone.

Having used this for a while now I find it very frustrating that I cannot open the charging port door without using a knife, I have now had to cut away the waterproof pad under the door just to use i

Camera was only ordered on Thursday and was delivered this morning. Camera seems very well built. It feels solidly made, it doesn’t have a cheap feel like some of the other action cameras. The touch screen is very responsive. The two screens are bright an vibrant. It comes with a great selection of accessories, enough to get started. The front screen will be very handy for vlogging. I bought the camera to take running and cycling. I briefly used it this evening to shoot some videos and take a few pics. The video looks very sharp. I only took the video in 4K at 30fps. The stabilisation seemed pretty good as I did walk with the camera as I shot the video. The camera connected seamlessly with the phone and it works very well together. I read some reviews that suggest that the app doesn’t recognise email addresses. I initially had that problem but the I removed the full stop between my first and second name and it worked fine. All in all a great little action camera for the price. I would highly recommend.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersHaving had chance to play with my ‘Akaso Brave 7 LE at the weekend, i must say I’m really impressed with it. This is my first action cam, so i don’t have anything to compare it to, but i chose this model mainly for the dual screens, which i figured would be useful.
Image quality at 4K 30fps is certainly good enough for my efforts. Bright, with well balanced colours. I haven’t used the other settings yet.
I bought it mainly to use on my bike for cycling adventure videos. I was concerned about image stabilisation mounted on the handlebars, but i have not been disappointed. Seems pretty stable to me. Sound wise it seems reasonable. I may need to tweak a few settings. Photo quality is as good as your gonna get from a tiny sensor. But i own a mirrorless camera. I didn’t buy it for photos.
So all in all a cracking little camera for the price. I’ve just checked and it’s now 22 cheaper than what i paid. A bit annoying, but i can’t grumble really. Especially when you look at the accessories you get with it. There’s a mount for every conceivable purpose, altho I’m using a little ball head clamp for the bike. But the two best bonuses are, the wrist band remote control, which is very useable and handy. And the underwater case. I’m no diver, but I’ve got uses figured for this already. These accessories alone would cost 60+ for the likes of a GoPro.
I can see me having a lot of fun with this. Along with mastering editing, I’ve got plenty to keep me occupied for the year.

I bought this camera primarily to video my bike rides. It’s a third of the price of the equivalent GoPro, and having done some extensive research on camera review sites and on YouTube it looked like the right one for me.

The touch screen is very intuitive with no need for instructions IMO. The dual screen is a real plus, as is the waterproof casing without the need to wrap it in the separate housing. It comes with 2 batteries which is a nice touch, they don’t cost much so you wonder more more manufacturers don’t do the same.

Image quality is very good for the price, not quite GoPro standard but I didn’t expect it to be, similarly the image stabilisation is also fine for my needs, particularly effective on off-road bike footage, again not quite GoPro but almost there.

It came with a good range of accessories/mounts etc and a remote are included. I can’t really fault it it at the price.

Bunch of straps and mounts make it great starter kit. Just get your self a good sdcard (sandisk ultra or extreme) and you good to go. You don’t need anything else from a budget video recorder. It performs like older GoPro. Right now i can’t complain. Going to take it outside on sunday morning and we test it during cold water swimming. Hopefully image stabilization going to correct my shaking hands.

    Alternative to GoPro

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI think like most people the thing that attracted me first to the Akoso Brave 7 LE was the price( and the front facing screen). After receiving the camera I can confirm that both reasons are still valid but there is so much more
1)Build quality – getting it out of the box feels great – solid ,chunky and with tactile materials
2)Image quality – excellent anf far better than expected – granted its no Hero 9 but images are crisp with good colour balance and stabilisation works well
3)Accessories – I know its back on the value point but great range of accessories included together with an extra battery and separate charger unit a proper waterproof housing which incidentally is super robust and makes use with winter gloves easier and best of all a watch strap remote which works brilliantly and is ready paired
All in all a great package – really easy to use and plenty of settings to play with – but ready straight out of the box – Im genuinely delighted with my purchase!

Pleased with the camera, behaves as I thought it would, doesn’t pick up sound all that well, but it’s fine.
