I had a $400+ rangefinder-major brand. Had it for several years, used infrequently for hunting and setting fencelines…last time I used it, it listed every new battery I installed as ‘half or less’ charged and would not range at all. I wrote the manufacturer…it only had a 2 year warranty. They offered reduced price ‘replacements’ that were 50% or more than this unit I am rating, and these had way less ranging capability than the Aofar.
No more expensive rangefinders for me…this unit does what I need. I can replace it in a few years if I don’t drop it or wreck it. Good to go!
I love the size, the feel but not the accuracy. Mine is 7 yards off at 100 yards as compared to two Leupold Rangefinders. When I asked the question about calibrating, the answer I recieved was
“The AOFAR is accurate to apx. =/- 1 yd. There is no disassembly; nor, any calibration by the user. Suggestion…. check @ 25 yd, 50 yd and 75 yd and see if the error is arithmetic or geometric (increases due to equal divisible per yd vs. error increase rate as distance increases). Be a simple enough matter to simply make a correction factor table either way. Also, the cost/price difference when comparing to a Leupold… is rather like stating a factory made low end automobile is not as good as a custom designed formula race car.”
really? I feel like it should be accurate since its main function is to grant you distance. If the car started but wouldn’t move, then Ok..lol
CORRECTION 11/09/2020: Service was able to work with me and my Range finder was set to Meters. I feel like an idiot but the Range finder is great.
Bottom line, “You get what you pay for.”
Got the job done for minimal price.
Draw back is it’s not real good in low light situations due to the internal distance markings are to light to clearly see in full daylight.

The screen is dim and hard to read. It is a budget option and really is a good value but I don't think this is a great option for anyone with old eyes.

I used the product primarily for crossbow hunting in WI. I am happy to say for the price, I could not be more impressed. My dad has a high dollar rangefinder and this does the job just as good if not better. It’s accurate, lightweight and the battery life so far has been fine.

Used for air gun range finding. Accurate to the metre/yard over known distances. Was pleasantly surprised as to the optical quality also

Opened battery removed
Very happy apart from the main box seal had been broken and the battery removed so until my new battery turns up I can’t say any more.
Great for air rifle hunting
I use this for air rifle hunting, great value, works well and is accurate. Had it now for months comes in a case but i wrap it up in a shemagh as well just to keep safe, if your wanting a range finder and dont want to pay a fortune this id reccomend, does calculation in yards and metre and simple to use, great to scan the area when hunting even when off saves looking through the rifle scope.

The rangefinder was easy to use. My only complaint was that the battery included in the package was totally dead, I mean ZERO volts not 3+ when new! Luckily I had a spare battery on hand and was able to try the rangefinder out! It worked great, as described in the product description. I would recommend this product to others.

All good tested against another much more costly range and held it’s own.
Plain and simple – it works. I bought it for hunting and use it golfing as well. It’s always within 2-3 yards of my friend’s expensive one. Can’t go wrong.

I like that this is easy to use.i use it at the bow range for target and 3D bow range. Its about 98% accurate . I enjoy using this. Great purchase.

Cannot adjustfocus sufficiently to provide a clear image, but for my purpose (bow hunter) it is good enough. Perfectly accurate vs a known distance of 20 yards, no problem picking up my target bags at 60 yards. Tested speed feature on my running child, held speed Reading on her well out to a full city block. Very simple to use. You get what you pay for, just don’t expect an expensive quality optic for under $100 and you’ll be satisfied.

It is quite easy to use, however there is two aspect that I would like warn about.
The battery should probably be stored out of the device in case the battery leaks. That is especially true since the nature of the device means there may be many months between uses.
There is a Velcro flap on the cloth case that appears to be there to hold the battery. Don’t trust it. It caused me to lose the battery this past weekend. Fortunately, I had spares. I store the batteries in a lock-top pill bottle with a couple of those silicon packets you find everywhere that absorb moisture.
Secondly, the little screw-on battery compartment lid is a danger. The battery is under some spring pressure and when the lid is unscrewed it has a tendency to pop free.
Mine did and rolled under the car seat. I was standing outside the truck and for a few heart-stopping moments I thought I had lost it in the mud. Lose that little nickel-size piece of plastic and the expensive device is worthless. Be careful and be aware of where you are when you unscrew it.
I’m still giving 5 stars since these problems are not unique to this one model.

Just spent half the day at my local shoot and can say this Range finder is spot on, well made clear vision once eye piece is adjusted to your own eyes. 5 star product.
Works as intended
I bought this for disc golf to measure distance to baskets. Is able to measure distance to basket from 100m and up. Longer distances require repeat measures to be sure, and aiming at the basket from 100m well enough to catch the distance can be a bit fiddly, but this is the same for all rangefinders. Overall easy to use, light to carry.

I was a little sceptical about this items accuracy and abilities, but checking it against my neighbours Hawke rangefinder cost more than twice the price, this little beauty nails it, great value and accurate. If it’s for hunting you won’t be dissatisfied with it. Forget the fog mode that’s pants.

A great purchase
Spent 4 hours with this on the shooting range & it performed faultlessly. Lightweight, convenient & very easy to use. It all looks well made & gave accurate readings on the Airgunology range out to 55 meters. Of course it does read much further than that but I don’t need that so cannot check accuracy. A great purchase very happy with this.

Nice clear glass. Better than some more expensive models in the plus $100 range. I tried them. Having the lettering and background to all be in focus was what sold it for me. I was able to pick up objects up to 700 yards. Great value

For the money this ranging scope is excellent value for money (69.99), It is easily on par with range finders more than twice the price. The optics x6 are crystal clear and the eye piece has an adjustable focal lens so if you wear glasses you can adjust this so you can see clear without having to take them off. I have tested the accuracy using a 30m surveyors tape measure and tested the reading range at various points between 5 and 30m going back and forth. The results were excellent and all were within the +/- 1m accuracy stated by the manufacturers, 70-80% of all readings taken were 100% accurate. My intended use for this range finder will be for air rifle shooting and I have no doubts that it will be a great addition to my arsenal. No need to spend hundreds, buy this!

My Hawke stopped working after 10 years of use and needed a new range finder for Airgun hunting. This is very similar to use and is accurate when compared to my gun mounted range finder used for hunting at night with NV, good quality and good value for money. Comes with a battery, lanyard and D clip.

Tested against my brothers $400 1000 yd rangefinder and was dead on at 25,50,100 yds and within 1 yd at 300, and 500 yds. At 700 yd max for this unit was a bit sketchy. So, no accurate reading. But since I’m a crossbow hunter 20 to 100 yds max is my range anyway and it was dead on according to more expensive finder. Never used the other features so cannot comment on them.

Era un po’ scettico prima dell acquisto ,ma dopo averlo provato e testato mi sono ricreduto. Sia sul campo ,dove risultato pratico e veloce, sia al poligono ,dove a 200 mt ha letto 200….e a 300 mt ha letto 299., Mi ha dato la certezza di aver in mano un buonissimo telemetro. Se durer nel tempo ,sar stato un eccellente acquisto. Complimenti ad Amazon x la puntualit nella consegna e ad Aofar x la qualit.

Wanted a range finder and this was too cheap not to try. It’s an okay unit, definitely better than expected for the money. However one thing I didn’t notice was how the range differs from “hunting” to “tree” to “reflective”. So in the end it works but doesn’t have the 700 yard range I thought I was getting.

It’s a basic priced range finder, it totally works in blazing sunshine, the issue is ranging very dark objects in the shade.. Really struggles.. But fir the price its a perfect start.

Ottimo prodotto, facile da usare e molto preciso. Due o pi rilevazioni danno lo stesso risultato con un errore al massimo di un metro. Rileva anche oggetti sottili come i pali delle antenne. Pi difficile la rilevazione della velocit che per ora ho fatto solo sui volatili. Devo ancora prenderci la mano. Estremamente soddisfatto. Ho provato a rilevare la distanza di taratura della carabina fatta in con l’ottica E coincideva con quella rilevata con il dispositivo.

Have had this unit for about 6 months. I use it just for hunting. Have found it easy to use and very accurate. Batteries last for a long time. Nice case to keep it in. This unit has 6x power which is what I set my rifle scope at.
I usually check my distances from 50 out to 300 meters.

Had this item a couple of months only used it a few times easy to use, but issues I’ve had is aiming, in open areas it’s ok ,but seems to pick up objects in the foreground not what u think you are pointing at. Also fog , Even light mist forget it won’t measure

However Aofar contacted me and their customer service was excellent, offering me a replacement unit immediately without question. Would definitely buy from them again after an excellent customer service experience.

E’ la prima volta che ordino un prodotto AOFAR, sono rimasto molto soddisfatto dell’acquisto, funziona eccellentemente, ma soprattutto anche l’imballaggio di qualit (spedito addirittura con il sacchettino di sale anti-umidit).
Se mai dovessi prendere altro materiale del genere (lenti o magari ottiche di puntamento, se le producono), sicuramente dar precedenza a questa marca.
The product itself is pretty decent. I enjoyed how it looks, and the range finding itself (the task its suppose to complete) works as expected.
Why I docked a star is because the instructions are’t as clear as I’d hoped. For example, with the battery: I figured that the battery slot you must pull the little piece, and then twist it, but not everyone recognizes tath right away. Imagine if you weren’t suppose to twist it – then you’d break it. But, if the instructions was clear right up front, it wouldn’t be an issue.
I bought this for hunting and found it easy to use. The display could be a little bit bigger but I think I’m just being a bit picky cos I can’t fault it on anything else. Well worth a look.

Quick delivery. Once you have read the notes, it is easy to use. I have not tried the wind, fog, velocity setting yet. The eye piece adjustment can do with smoother in turning.
I liked everything about it. At the very low price it is excellent and very accurate as a shooting aid. I checked it’s range distances with Google earth distance measuring tool and it was spot on at all distances up to 700 metres. Not as strongly built as expensive range finders, but what do you expect. As a cheap, accurate aid, I would certainly recommend it. The auto shut off is also appreciated.

It is very easy to use.
The accuracy of 1 Metre is a little of putting.
Over all it works well and is quick to give you the answer.
I use it to find the height of objects, trees, buildings, bridges etc.
You have to be careful you don’t press the wrong button when taking a reading as
you can easily change the mode, but after a few mistakes you get the hang of it.
The only thing I don’t like is, it’s hard to see the sighting square at night or in low light.
It would have been better to have the sighting square and info in a different colour or illuminated.
Over all it does the job well.

Brilliant range finder… matched against one of the leading brands at twice the price and reads the same range….
Great for those days out hunting
I needed a range finder for hunting and I found this for a good price. It has done everything I could ask for. It works great and easy to use. It is also easy to carry around where I go. Also AOFAR is a first class company that really cares about their customers. I ended up losing a battery cap and I contacted them. Long story short, they sent me a brand new rangefinder free of charge so I would have it for hunting season. So if you are looking for a great rangefinder and great company really looking out for the customer, look no further!
Il telemetro funziona benissimo e fa tutto quello che dice nella descrizione , circa 3 secondi per acquisire la distanza o velocit dell’oggetto inquadrato . Qualit prezzo direi pi che ottima , consegna precisa nel giorno indicato .
It is accurate, looks good, and is very affordable. The lens are really clear too. The only thing I don’t like about it that is bulky and is to big for my hand and I have a large hand. I wish they made it a little smaller and added some dynamics to the curvature of my hand. But it works great and I could pay less than a $100 to get a rangefinder for now season.
Great little bit of kit well built handy size price good. Can’t wait to get out in the field and try it out now would recommend
