Took some time to install, but was good instructions, had to switch red and yellow wire to get the fast boot option to work (took some research to find out) defenently made my audio sound allot better with my amp and the amp settings on the head uni

Have you ever bought a product after shopping around for a while to find it’s way better than the competition and even though you don’t normally write reviews, your satisfaction is so high you just had to take the time out and let people know about it?

After doing a stupid amount of research before buying an aftermarket stereo, I eventually bought the 4 best I could find (all similar hardware 2GB RAM, 32GB ROM, 175-250). They were all from the big, trusted Android/Linux brands, and I installed each of them myself one by one to get a real feel with each of them for a while.

In short, I have to say that this one is genuinely a cut above the rest.
    – It feels faster and more responsive because they haven’t messed around making their own UI.
    – It actually fit my car properly because the online measurements were accurate.
    – It was easiest to install because they actually provide the things you need, including spare alternatives in case it isn’t exact. I can’t say this was true for the other brands.

I will also add that if I had to settle, my second choice would also be another from the same company (totally different screen size and operating system) because these three points applied to both.

Thank you ATOTO for not wasting my time, and bringing my long search for a good product to an end.

This thing is the real deal

Fantastic stereo for the money great quality, I live in the UK and own an American 2003 Ford Mustang GT so I had to source the brackets to make it fit, the only issue I had is the stereo is approximately 1mm bigger than well known branded double din, so I had to modify the bracket slightly to make it fit, so worth it as the quality is bang on and I absolutely love it, it’s a very quick headunit and the touch screen is very superb

    Absolutely brilliant, very high quality

This has been an excellent upgrade to my stereo. Basically it’s a tablet with all available apps etc. If you turn on your phone’s WiFi hotspot you can use all features on the go,including Google maps to use as a satnav. I watched a YouTube video to help with the install which made it quite easy.

Excellent radio, installed in no time at all. FM radio work perfectly as does Spotify when WiFi tethering to my phone. Touch screen in crystal clear and super responsive. I love that I can change the colour of the backlit buttons to match my dash!

I wanted a stereo that would bring my 2011 Focus ST up to date. Three things I really wanted, play music from my phone, Google Maps satnav and make phone calls. This does all three and much more.
I can use my phone as a wireless hot-spot for the stereo that gives me access to the Internet for Google Maps and all the other features of the stereo, when I turn my car on it instantly connects to my phones Bluetooth (Samsung S10+) it immediately starts playing my music and is ready to take calls etc. Only issue I’ve found is that the stereo doesn’t show me my contacts so I’m having to make the call using my phone instead of being able to select the number from the stereo. I figure it’s a setting or something I haven’t worked out yet, but it might be something you’d want to know.
Fitting it was simple and it took longer to set up my phone to it than it did to fit it. The USB charging cable also charges when the car is off, so that’s useful.
Sound quality is better than the original stereo and I intend to fit an amp and sub later, because this stereo has capacity for that too.
    I’d say money well spent.

Awesome stereo with more features than brand name stereos.

I was looking for something to fit my 07 range rover sport. This literally came with everything i needed in the box and the guys were super helpful in getting it fitted. For the money this has great functionality and even better is that it is easy to add further Atoto products as the software is already built in. I added the tyre pressure senors, the dash cam and the OBD2. It can run spotify via bluetooth or using a wifi hotspot. If you want functionality and value then this is the one for you. I have no complaints with mine.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersAprs presque un an d’utilisation, je suis globalement satisfait de cet Atoto A6.
Torque fonctionne partiellement via l’adaptateur Bluetooth.
    – prix
    – bundle complet
    – polyvalence
    Les – :
    – un peu lent
    – quelques bugs
    – il ne fait pas le caf…

    Fait tout, sauf le café

I’m doing a panel van camper conversion so was looking to upgrade the media so was looking at reviews and came across this unit that had better reviews than most of the well known makes. Particularly appealing to me was the fact you can run a dash cam, a rear view camera and a reversing camera and it has a gps navigation app. So just the one screen for everything I need and keeps the camper cab tidy.

Bought this to upgrade the radio on the motorhome. Relatively easy to fit, have added a front facing camera. Quality of the unit seems very good but haven’t used it too much in anger due to the lockdowns.

Minor issue with one of the buttons which was marked incorrectly with the rewind rather than the forward symbol. Got in touch with Atoto customer support who very quickly came up with a satisfactory solution, very impressed.

Really impressed with the quality of the a6 unit for the price I feel its great value.
Was easy to install but you need to order a separate convertor wiring lume. If you like me had never installed one before its a bit of a learning curve. Atato support was great and between them and dynamic audio who supplied the convertor lume got me the know how I needed. The touch screen works great and with the convertor lume all my steering wheel controls work.

    Overall very happy

It’s a great head unit, easy to fit and works well. The only struggle I have had in renaming radio stations, and deleting those I’m not interested in. Access to better instructions would be a help.

Bought this to replace older CD standard stereo in Kia Sportage – only needed handsfree calling and maps but now realise it delivers o much more for the money ! Install easily with the supplied harnesses, call quality is great especially with the external microphone supplied. As its Android you can download hundreds of apps from Playstore which has meant I can join and listen to Webex meetings handsfree , see emails, check diary ! Support is also super responsive unlike others so if you do run into any problems they get back to you very quickly.

Reluctantly to buy this, as I read nothing but bad reviews about Chinese android headunits. After reading reviews on ATOTO it seems they have a rating regarding headunits. After a few videos and research I decided to buy the head unit.

After almost 3 days of considerable ammounts of struggling to get this radio working (NOT THE FAULTOF THE RADIO), I’d spoken to halfords and connects2 about it and they tried to sell me added extras or even fit it for me for 50.

I decided to email ATOTO support and I received a response prompt. Given the time difference.

I Spoke to Fannie Zeng, who researched my car and told me the problem, even sent me a link to what part I needed. (MORE than what halfords did).

After troubleshooting and questions, email back and forth she managed to tell me everything that was needed. Granted she gave me stark warning about the way I was skipping my CANBUS System.

With a few manipulations of my car System, (Externally jumping the the power cables to my car, ignition key to cigarette lighter and constant power piggyback onto my fuse board) it worked! Power up and working.

Miss/Mrs Zeng had helped me understand what wires needed what voltage and amperes, this saved me money!

Granted I’ve still to jump my steering wheel controls but this moment in time I’m just happy to have my radio working.

As a person in Britain studying a Business degree, customer services is essential to products of value such as this.

Customer service is absolutely great. Radio is top quality.

My only concern is with this radio is how far back the screen is in the frame. Makes it difficult to swipe down. But they have added a button to do that.

    5stars.

Just because its Chinese doesn’t mean its WISH quality!

Thanks again everyone for the help.

(IF buying this for a car with canbus, buy a canbus iso adaptor, you can find them on ebay or connects. If you enjoy ripping panels up etc I’ll explain with brevity. )

To SKIP the can bus, 2 power cables are needed.

    1 – Red ignition.
    2 – Yellow constant.

To skip the can bus system you simply wire them up to the corresponding wire.

My yellow constant is piggybacking a fuse in my fuse box using a fuse tap (2)
My Red ignition is connected to my cigarette/auxiliary power line i used a spade connector to do this safely (0.89p)

Steering wheel controls don’t work yet, but I know how to do that.

Once again, thanks ATOTO and especially Fannie Zeng you’re and absolutely star.

    ! !

I found Atoto A6 from best YouTube reviews and I would like to recommend anyone Atoto A6 with my recent experience. I installed myself so I was bit confused about the installation process but I received fabulous support from the support team. Sheila from support team literally followed up my queries and sorted everything. I successfully installed my lovely music system and I was able to connect to inbuilt steering wheel control of my 2005 Honda CR-V which I really wanted to have.It is a really good android player with decent price.

I bought this 2 years ago and specifically this brand as my double din slot only takes the smaller 174mm size screen, which means that i don’t have to modify the dash!
In the 2 years that i have had it – it’s been 100% reliable.
I recently upgraded the firmware and again, this was 100% successful.
I needed to contact ATOTO customer support regarding the update files and they responded (in perfect English) in under a day on both occasions with a detailed and concise explanation of what i should do.

Honestly, there’s nothing to worry about with the product or the support (my device is now out of warranty yet they still happily provide information if asked).
My only criticism would be that the website can be hard to navigate to find things, but a quick email to support usually gets things done.

Great device, no background noise or hissing, responsive screen, great sound, the bluetooth works with 2 devices at once, the OBD scanner works a treat, Good GPS signal, – honestly, i can’t fault it.
In fact i’m buying another.. the S8.

    Delighted?
    You bet…!

This product was purchased as a replacement for a Transit van head unit. The unit arrived from amazon on time and within a few days of ordering. The choice of units where extensive and the one I went for had the gesture control function. When it arrived I was pleased to see it came with all of cables that were needed for an easy install. All in all it was an easy fit. The product itself I found to be better than imagined, being very good quality, the screen was bright and easy to see and the setup itself straight forward. The only hiccup was the setting up of Android Auto. I have a Samsung S20+, an up to date phone and struggled to get this working. And to date it still does not function. The instructions ask you when connecting with USB to enter debugging mode, even when this was done I still could not get Android Auto functioning. For me it has not stopped me using the A6 and I am more than happy without Android Auto.

All in all I have found the A6 to be a fantastic unit to use and it has been a great addition to my camper van. I would also recommend this unit to anyone with a ford transit Mk7 that is looking to change their head unit, in fact I have already done so on several forums. I have scoured the internet for weeks before making this choice and was a little apprehensive about buying a unit from a manufacturer that I have not heard of. My fears were unfounded and what you get for your money is a quality product.

Great to have sat nav (Google maps),handsfree phone, radio, music library etc all in one place. Fitting wasn’t without its problems though. I was mystified as to why the switched supply from the igtition (ACC) in my existing wiring connections (merc vito) was only putting out 4volts! Very odd, but once this was remedied, it worked perfectly.
ATOTO helpline (Fannie Zeng) could not have been more helpful. Thank you ATOTO.

The unit took a good 4 hours to be installed, you do need to get a few bits if you like your SWC working, but if you email the Atoto customer service with your car model, etc, they respond emails within 24 hours to guide you with all the stuff you will need, useful links to the components, etc.
The stereo is beautiful, sound is great, and you have the advance of having wifi, so is basically an android tablet for a car.
Due to the Android version(6) it is a bit slow with some apps, but other ones respond really quick. I’m still trying to find the right ones so I don’t need to wait for too long to have music playing in the car(Amazon music in my unit takes up to 40 seconds to open and play) but Waze open quite quick, radio plays straight away, and bluetooth connects in not time too, so, it’s just matter of which app you want to use I guess.
The new firmware gives you the chance to lock the screen, excellent choice to protect all your sensitive data.
I went for the A6 basic, and didn’t add any accessories, but I did connect a reverse camera, which works fine with it.
It did fit my car which had the original Nissan double din Cd stereo, with the right fascia bought of course.
I think all in all, it’s a really good stereo, I’m just hoping that in the near future the company update the Android version to a newer one!

Setup Advice: I did get tripped up on the setup process, you will need to buy the wiring harness (plus patch lead and aerial adapter in my case) for your car so you can plug and play into the ISO connector but to setup the steering wheel controls and aerial adapter will require a small amount of soldering or alternative method (eg butt or crimp connectors), but I emailed the support team and they were very fast and explained the solutions.

I bought this unit in 2017 and have now been using it for almost 3 years, recently it developed a few faults including not turning on when on button pressed which was overcome by pressing reset. I contacted their customer service department explaining the fault and whether my stereo would recieve an update as promised at time of purchase. A member of the CS team immediately replied with a link to a website and details on how to update the software. Following their advice, my stereo no longer has any faults and has updated software.
Would I buy again? Yes, for its price this has been a good android based stereo. I understand the new models now run on new android software but I am happy with mine and do not feel the need to update just yet.

Bought this for my 2006 Mazda MX5 Mk3, with a standard fit stereo (not Bose). I was a bit disappointed to find that I needed to buy an ISO adapter to mate the head unit with the Mazda wiring harness – this was an extra 15 – but that fitted fine, and once I got the right ISO adapter (the Mazda takes ISO adapter B provided with the kit) everything powered up, and worked great.
The sound is impressive – I think the amp included on my model makes the difference, and there are a few neat features, e.g. the unit dims when the headlights are turned on.
I bought this with a facia unit which I modified to a double DIN by removing the central bar, and it’s a really good fit, although the stereo is slightly to big to fit the provided facia around, and it will need a bit of trimming.
The unit itself is fully featured, although the interface is a bit fiddly, and I haven’t figured out how to change apps on the default pages – some of the apps aren’t available in the UK, and I’d rather be able to put my own ones there.
The ATOTO website provides some useful tips, and I plan to wire in the steering wheel controls – they don’t work with the standard harnesses, and will need wiring into the car stereo, although that seems fairly straightforward.
It certainly makes the interior look much smarter, and has got all the functionality of a typical android tablet, with a few car- specific apps like the Radio.
So far, looks like a good buy.

  32. EliVonStieglitz says:

Bought as a replacement for an aging single DIN CD player. Physical fitment was very easy with the included ISO cable – although i did purchase an inexpensive adapter to plug this into the existing Subaru wiring loom. The other supplied cables/accessories like wireless & gps antennas, external microphone and usb connectors seem plenty long enough to route behind the dashboard/trim, although i’ve yet to decide on a permanent home for them all.

The (IPS) screen quality is excellent in terms of brightness, clarity, easy of use, and the unit seems to respond quickly when launching apps etc. Am not a huge fan of the way the standard launcher screen looks, but will try out a few of the popular launchers such as Car Launcher Pro, CarWebGuru, or AGAMA and no doubt find one that suits me.

Sound quality is decent, considering it’s still running through the original ~20 year old OEM speakers – comparable to (but not noticeably better than) the Kenwood single DIN it replaces. No complaints, extra functionality was the main reason for purchase and I suspect I’ll need to upgrade other audio components if i want improvement in this area.

The inclusion of physical buttons for basic functions at the bottom of the unit is welcome, especially as my vehicle does not have any steering wheel controls.

To conclude, I like the A6 Pro a lot already – so much more useful than my previous head unit – and there are plenty features I’ve still to set up such as integration with cameras, TPMS, data logging via bluetooth OBDII/SSM.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBeing an individual who likes android it came to my surprise to see that you could have a car system with that technology. Once set up it was like using my phone and tablet which is great just for the fact that i can download applications you normally can’t get on a stereo such as different sat navs & even emulators which you can use when you arrive somewhere somewhat early.

As well as this the device has great additional hardware you can purchase such as a dash cam, USB adapter to use android auto/ apple car play and others.

The only downfall for me is that you can’t plug your phone in straight and get android auto working out the box and like the android systems before it, it can act weird (be slow and restart). However i feel that is more to do with not updating the system (which is easy to do thanks to Atoto’s customer service).

Replaced an old ford stereo in a 10 year old fiesta. You need a new cage and adapter and facia plate for fitting, then it’s just plug and play no soldering or splicing unless you’re fitting a rear camera or steering wheel controls.

I set the unit up in the house before fitting it in the car by wiring to an old transformer. The unit already had the latest firmware pre installed which was great but just needed to customise it and update Google apps and set it up with my phone which is easier on house Wi-Fi and with plenty of room.

Android auto with a third party usb dongle in the back is the killer app for me and this works flawlessly although Autokit is pre installed, I had to use another app, autocar, to get it working. The screen is bright and responsive and Auto dims when the headlights are turned on. Fast boots in 2 seconds after original cold start so long as it is used within 2 weeks.

Plenty of support available online and a 1 year warranty with excellent customer support.

I spent 2 months researching Double Din Andriod based head units in what is a minefield of a market. After much deliberation and comparisions i went for the A6 Pro PRB model with the better Toshiba Class AB amp. Overally quality and finish on the unit is very high. Great packaging and instructions. And absolute first class wiring looms. I have never seen such good wiring looms on an aftermarket radio before.
I fitted this into an old Saab 9000 which was a bit of an effort as they are a 3x Single DIN slot dash, but fitted in the end and super happy with the result. I drive 800 miles a week so using Google Maps with an Offline 1.5GB downloaded map is brilliant. You can use your phone hotspot for internet access but i have a Teltonkia 3G router setup in the car that provides continuous WiFi internet. The unit is very pleasant to use and you can tell they have really refined the Firmware. Its quick and snappy all the time, and powers on in just 2 seconds.
My Son is so impressed by this unit that hes going to get one himself as well !.

The functions work, my SWC (steering wheel controls) work fine after learning. For SWC you will need an adaptor, i can recommend Connects2 leads.
Atoto supply a selection of leads with the unit, They go to the expence of 2 power leads A and B. whats the difference? – Well sometimes some vehicles have the battery live and the Accessory live in different positions. The A and B lead gives a lead for either position. Thanks Atoto.
I do find going to the settings hangs a little before it appears, but it the system probably needs updating. And in all fairness they have the updates. These update have to be put on Micro sd card.
There are 4 usb ports, 1 is used for front camera, 2 others are fly leads (supplied) that enable charging and data
and the last is on the front of the unit.
A great thing also is that it supports 2 bluetooth. Bluetooth 1 is for your phone calls or media. BT2 is for ODB2 if you want it.
the screen is bright and dimmable, and the unit i have the Pro has touch controls buttons on the unit for essencial actions, – home button forward, back, volume. (save touching the screen for most used actions).
AND ON TOP OF ALL THIS – ATOTO even provide 2 screen protectors that seem anti refective. Nice touches like this and the extra leads just show that Atoto have confidence and know how to treat their customers.
WHAT ABOUT SUPPORT. – Well i have had a lot of emails to support, mainly about getting my SWC correctly setup without loosing my reversing sensors. – EVERY QUESTION WAS ANSWERED IN LESS THAN 24 HRS. and by the same person, Superb and many thanks.
AND NOW THE DOWN SIDES –
Firstly, this unit can do so much you need a large space behind for all the cables, fortunately the unit its self is not too deep. if you have SWC your going to have to get a SCW adaptor. This can be quite a thick unit, then there is the cameras front and back, then the WIFI THATS RIGHT IT HAS WIFI CONNECT capabilities. Then there is the GPS lead, so you can end up with a few wires to attach. But when your attatched you have everything you could possibly need. CONNECT to your phones hotspot and BINGO, Amazon prime video or Youtube or just plain surfing net.
Secondly, and this is a problem with most items from the easter hemisphere, sometime the Chinglish can be a little confusing. However i find Atoto to be on the better scale of Chinglish. I just wish some of these Easter producers would pass their literature past a european before sending it out.
Lastly, No 2din frame is supplied. Now i have always been used to single din units, and they always came with a fixing frame. So when i opened this box i was supprised not to find a fixing cage. I suspect their thinking is that most would put this unit in as an upgrade to an existing one and already have a frame. But there we are, no frame. A quick visit to your favourite auction site will provide low priced ones though.

So there you have it. Is it anygood? well i only got paid 1 million pounds for this review ( i should be so lucky)
but i have to say, the competitors with the big names and big price tags should watch out, Atoto is about. And this unit is far far better value.
Will it last the test of time? – I hope so, Atoto seem to have given much bang for the buck and with good customer support, they deserve to do well.
Check reviews online and you will find more and more taking a liking to this unit.
    Live long and Prosper All.

It’s exactly what you’d expect for the price, a slower slightly more dated model. I didn’t like that the display icons for setting were small and fiddly especially when moving, you can’t do much on the fly as it takes too long to do things and you end up distracted, also the lack of a volume dial was too much an issue for me.

There is also a distinct lack in audio configuration compared to FAR cheaper, albeit non touchscreen radios from big brands.

It’s exactly what you’d expect for what you pay, although I did end up selling mine to a friend and sticking with a single din unit.

Golden Review Award: 28 From Our UsersI have tried to incorporate as much information as you may wonder when purchasing this unit.
I had a M series one of these as the radio was absolutely rubbish I was apprehensive about buying another but the radio although not DAB is superb .
It comes with a wifi ariel that when connecting to the house isnt really much better than earlier models but is adequate for downloading if you dont have an unlimited data plan on your mobile , I mounted my wifi ariel in the top left of the wind screen and the GPS ariel in the top right so they are as far apart as possible,
as i said, the wifi is marginally better than the none arieled version but not by much.
when paired with your phone though the wifi and bluetooth has a good connection and doesn’t tend to drop out like it did on earlier versions ( on the motorway or by traffic lights and you loose the wifi through interference)
You can download GPS/ Sat nav to use without wifi, you can use a segment of google maps or download an app, there are some ok apps that are ok as long ad you have post codes,
The voice commands are good so you can eg say “Hey Siri call Andrew W” and it will do, (it is actually your phone doing that but it transfers over to the head unit very well)
I havent set up all the interface properly yet so I will comment better later but its integration with Iphones is 10 times better than the units have been previously, oh I did buy the microphone for it because the Mic in the head unit is too far away to be effective.

    Forward recording.
Again this feature is MUCH better than the earlier versions, I constantly had to re-boot the esrlier units over recording problems, wouldnt record, couldnt wipe the old recordings off, well this has all been sorted out now and the forward record is very reliable.

A nice feature also is that it has physical buttons on it, this makes operating it much easier while driving for the general features you need.
Bar phone calls and music The head unit operates very well independently of your mobile device, once paired you can just get in your car and the phone/ head unit does not require wifi / data usage to operate, it auto pairs with your phone via bluetooth so there is no need to pair it every time you get in like with earlier models, you do seem to need to make it pair for wifi though, this may be able to auto pair also I will update this in a week or so.

Generally you just get in your car start it up and drive off, once set up your phone connects, or if you are talking on the phone the change over from phone to car is relatively quick and smooth.

    Fitting the unit.

In the pictures it is going in to a 2008 Golf plus.

    What you need.

Facia kit, A double din metal cage, adaptor plugs, terminals for the reverse camera supply, an inline fuse or fuse box terminals to put in an ignition supply ( depending on model of car)
Trim pulling tools ( if you dont want to damage your dash)
And Patience, to out all the cameras, usb connections and ariels takes a LOT of time
I suggest doing the front camera, wifi, gps ariel and microphone one day … leaving the reverse camera wiring cable tied up somewhere and do the reverse camera another day
To fit the head unit in and tuck all the wiring away properly behind the air bags and such with take about 6 hours

doing the reverse camera will take about 4-6 hours depending a lot on which camera you are fitting and where youre mounting it.

Supplied with the kit is a very basic set of mounting brackets so you will need the appropriate facia and the adaptor plugs if you have a DAB ariel a double din kit with a booster would be helpful, I got the facia, the booster and plug adaptors for about 15.00 what I did need was a double din steel cage kit to use keys to remove the unit, however I didnt want it to be easy to steal so as you can see I screwed it together… in the pictures was me in the midst of making and measuring up before fastening the brackets to the facia properly

Decide what you are going to do IE fit forward recorder camera, reverse camera etc and put all the wiring in at once so you dont have to keep removing the unit,
It is quite straight forward to fit, but !

In a Volkswagen you do need to run in a separate wire on a fuse for an ignition supply, if you dont do this the head unit will tend to drain the battery much quicker

Having the correct terminals with being an auto electrician I took out the fuse box and put in my ignition fuse there but you could use an inline fuse.

NB test the reverse camera before instalation, test everything works then fasten it all back in to the dash, check it again and finally put all the trim back on.. on the car.
When working around air bags it is strongly advised to disconnect the battery as popping the trim back on ( although very unlikely) could set them off,
DO NOT TEAR OR DAMAGE THE AIR BAGS IN THE LINING, DO NOT RUN WIRING ACROSS THE FRONT OF THE AIR BAGS

    WHEN DONE!
When done and you re-connect the battery you may see you have the steering wheel light on and the ESP light on saying there is a fault.
Start the car turn the steering wheel fully locked left then fully locked right! This should put the steering light out then drive the car for a bit and this should out the ESP light out.
for me I had the air bag light on as i diss connected the warning light in my dashboard, for this I had to use my diagnostic tool to switch the air bag warning light off.

Thank you for reading this I hope it will help if you should decide to instal it yourself.
    I will update this ASAP

The buttons on the unit didn’t work correctly, so i contacted Atoto, we tried various things but still problems. I was asked by Mia to return it to Cardiff and it was exchanged for another unit. All within a week turn around cannot fault the service, now i have a working A6 again thank you very much for your great customer service.

A super up to the minute Android replacement for my failing OEM satnav / entertainment unit. To be honest, I’m still getting to grips with it, but the display is great, it operates very quickly and output quality is very good. Mobile phone bluetooth connection works well too. I got a professional to install (I was really not interested in messing around with cables, kits and dashboard) and it fitted perfectly into the double-DIN slot and they had no problems. Recommended.
Oh – and customer service responses to my newbie questions were very quickly and helpfully answered.

I have had this car stereo for 2 weeks and I think it is the best car stereo you can ever get. The sound quality is great and the radio reception is surprisingly great aswell. I had thought this car stereo is going to be bad and I has taken a risk by buying this but I think buying this car stereo was the greatest thing I have ever done. Do not hesitate on buying this car stereo. It is the best in the marke

Brought this over a year ago and have no issues, very easy to use and user friendly too. The user interface has large clear icons and the layout is set up nicely with bright colours. It has made a lot of long journeys with kids more entertaining and keeps them entertained for hours on end.

Both my wife and I can charge both our phones at the same time thanks to the double USB port which is very convenient.
As soon as I start the car engine the software starts up and loads quickly so I can use it straight away with no delay. Although the system is run by android it can also support apple phones which is good for iPhone users.

You can also use apple car play providing you purchase a dongle from atoto.
Can’t fault the ATOTO stereo as it has been great to use and would definitely recommend it. 5* product!

I was skeptical of purchasing this unit because it is based on the older Android 6 whereas there are units out there at Android 9 and even 10. On the other hand, it has 2G RAM whereas a lot of other units have only 1G, and RAM is a very important speed factor with Android. Even 2G RAM is small these days, so I figured maybe an older version of Android might even make it faster. It also had good ratings, ATOTO support appears to be pretty good, and the manual is extensive and comparatively well written. I advise you to request and look at the manual in advance for any unit that you are considering. I was also skeptical that I needed anything beyond a unit that supports Android Auto, which doesn’t require the unit to be based on Android, or have its own GPS antenna. Peculiarly this unit does NOT support the Android Auto app, and uses a third party connection method instead (Easy Connect – more about that below). But an Android unit offers more flexibility, which seemed wise given some reports of problems with Android Auto for my phone (OnePlus 6). I note that you can purchase a separate connection dongle if you really want to use Android Auto, but there should be no need. This review is basically a set of tips for this somewhat complicated unit, and I will mention the good and bad along the way:

    1) It’s an Android, so you can download any apps you like. I don’t really need anything beyond music and NAV, but I even found an app that would let me get SMS messages. You can read your email and such as well. On the stereo? Not me.

    2) Bluetooth connection for phone calls was pretty much flawless. You have to use Bluetooth 1 for that. At one point it somehow lost the ability to autoconnect, but I believe that is an Android problem, and I managed to fix it using some online advice. Conversations are audible in both directions, which is more than I can say for some car units.

    3) It can obtain data connectivity in several ways and I’ve tried them all. I don’t get my music from the cloud, so the only really important reason for me to have data was to use the Google Assistant for navigation…

3a) You can connect it to your phone Wifi hotspot (in which case I advise you to connect your phone to power). For this I put a hotspot shortcut on my home screen (I went through several in the playstore that didn’t work, probably because I’m running Android 10, so I used the Android Settings widget), and set my hotspot to turn off automatically after 5 minutes of nothing connected. I have put a Settings widget on my home screen that takes me straight to the hotspot setting. This is my favorite method of connection as both of the others have some pretty severe flaws, as discussed below. Note that (just like a phone) you can download offline map data for when you’re out of data range (yes that happens to me), or in Canada and don’t want to pay for that International plan, but you won’t have google assistant. But you can store destinations prior to leaving your coverage area.

3b) You can (supposedly) share your phone’s data connection over bluetooth. On the unit you have to use Bluetooth 2 for this, which you get at through the Settings. The pairing process is a bit different, but worked fine. I was worried about having two connections to the same device, but it worked, at times. There are two problems with this. Most importantly, it drops often. The manual says this is expected due to poor bluetooth range, which is nonsense. It also takes more button presses to enable it, and I haven’t been able to get this to auto connect like the hands free calling on bluetooth 1.

3c) Instead of running apps on the unit, you can run them on your phone and let your phone screen be echoed to the unit. This requires setting up the Easy Connect app on your phone. I suspect this is due to problems with my phone, but it took me many many hours to get this to work. I found that I don’t like this method anyway, for several reasons: i) Portrait mode isn’t really workable on a wider than tall display, so you need to turn your phone sideways. The real problem with this approach is that you CANNOT cannot control the phone stereo unit’s touchscreen. For example, if you launch Navigation it actually warns you that touch on the unit’s map display is not yet supported. WTF? That makes this pretty much useless because you have to interact on the actual phone. The unit’s screen isn’t so much larger than my phone that it’s worthwhile as nothing but a larger screen. I wasted many hours on getting this connection method to actually work, only to find this. The unit would be receiving 1 star from me due to this if it weren’t for the fact that I can use the hot spot connection. If it weren’t for that I’d be returning this for their unit that supports Android Auto. I decided not to take that risk because there are reports from some users of problems with Android Auto on my phone (OnePlus).

    4) The Music player will sort by song, artist, album, folder, or collection. Unfortunately any hierarchical folders are flattened and shown at the top level. My previous player (a Jensen) would maintain the hierarchical structure of a folder system. The built-in player also doesn’t show album art, so I’ve downloaded a different one from the Play Store. Some of the Play Store players won’t scan music on my SD card (the built-in player has no problem with that), but you can always copy music to the internal storage.

    5) I did have a problem with the first unit and had to exchange it. The mounting holes on the side of the unit were missing their threads.

I bought this to fit into my 2007 Fiat Panda, and wasn’t disappointed. Functions wise it does everything I wanted and more, for the price I don’t think it can be beaten. Having looked into a lot of other options this unit has far more features than similarly priced units, and it even stacks up against higher end units.

Fitting was pretty straight forward although I did have to buy a separate facia for my car. The head unit came with various different wiring harnesses and was completely plug and play. This was the first stereo I have ever fitted and was up and running in no time, the only tricky thing was neatly routing all the wires etc underneath the dashboard. I also purchased a separate wiring adaptor to link the Atoto to the steering wheel controls on my car, again this was plug and play and was working in no time once I set it up within the settings of the Atoto.

I did contact the customer support on more than one occasion about the installation and steering wheel controls and they were excellent and very helpful.

The Atoto is very responsive and easy to use, it wakes up instantly as stated and up to now has worked flawlessly. I added the optional DAB receiver and Bluetooth OBDII/ OBD2 car diagnostic scanner, and am very happy. Having 2 bluetooth channels took a bit of getting my head around at first, but once I realised bluetooth 1 connects to my phone (handsfree calling and audio streaming) and bluetooth 2 can connect to data (ODB2 Scanner) it made total sense. The DAB reception has been great, it starts a bit jumpy for a second or two but soon settles to very good reception.

I honestly can’t rate it highly enough, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. I plan on expanding it further in the future with the CarPlay adaptor and possibly the reversing / dash cam.

    Excellent head unit, very happy

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersIt does everything it promises! It has all the apps that your tablet or mobile would have and it comes with iso adaptor, mic, GPS antenna, and WiFi antenna. It is a really beautiful upgrade to my Mazda MX5 NC 2006. The sound has improved and the overall experience with using the maps, radio, youtube and other apps is awesome. Also the lighting of the buttons is adjustable to match with your car’s console lighting.

For the installation to my car I also had to buy the Autoleads FP-26-05 Mazda MX-5 Double Din Fascia Panel Adaptor, as well as the connects2 ctsmz.002.2 adaptor.

Fitting wasn’t easy but the support team was very helpful and after a couple of emails everything was working properly! If you doing the fitting on your own I would reckon to go online to YouTube or other forums and do your search before you start buying your adaptor and facia kit and be certain on the steps of the connection that you will follow before you start.

This connects.2 adaptor (photo attached) comes with steering wheel 3.5m jack for maintaining the factory Steering wheel controls. Unfortunately that wasn’t a good fit with the ATOTO jack which is only for use with its own after market wireless SWC product, and I ended up having to do some soldering to SW wires from connects.2 (key1, key2, GND) directly to the wires from the iso harness (SW+, SW#+, GND). Also the facia had some issues. Although it fitted perfectly with the measurements of the screen, it was quite stubborn to fit afterwards to the central console of the car.

    I would definitely recommend!

Best android car screen for the price

Really impressed with this unit. Easy to use and packed full of functions. I will come back in a few weeks and update after living with it but so far love it.

For those installing into a T5.1 there is no switched live. You will need to run a separate feed to the radio.

Fits a treat and looks factory spec!

Bought to replace my broken Skoda Yeti 2012 Bolero radio. After some investigation and excellent help from Atoto customer service, I bought this model. Fitting is easy but I needed to find the correct model, fascia kit and method, for which Atoto customer service was excellent in finding me the correct parts. The method took a quick search online. The unit works brilliantly and is everything I hoped for in my car radio upgrade. Thank you Atoto 🙂

Buono schermo 7 pollici, molto luminoso.

Great stereo, better than my previous Pumpkin one. The problem that I and many others have (hense the four stars and not five), from their support page, is that if you wish to use Bluetooth tethering, an auto connection to its second Bluetooth device doesn’t seem possible. I can auto connect to its first, voice and audio device but for that second device it doesn’t seem possible. You need to open the Bluetooth 2 app and manually connect to your phone from there each time.

The screen is bright and clear and the interface is responsive. More apps work on it than the pumpkin too. Forget that it’s Android 6, my pumpkin was running 8 and this is much faster.

Apart from that its a great stereo.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersATOTO A6 Pro review

The ATOTO A6 Pro is an Android In-Car Entertainment system providing all the functionality of a traditional Sat Nav & Multimedia car radio system together with the capability of running Android apps.

The model under review is the A6Y2721PRB from a range of similar units with varying features offered by ATOTO. It has the better 7″ IPS screen and physical buttons in a universal double din case, which fits a standard fascia opening when installed with the appropriate vehicle specific fitting kit. I also fitted the ATOTO DAB+ USB adapter.

Although the Android software is only version 6 the unit does benefit from ATOTO specific firmware of which the most recent version 9.5.1 was installed. This firmware is regularly updated by ATOTO to address bugs and enhance functionality.

The specific functions I was expecting this unit to provide were a FM/DAB radio, Sat Nav with Live Traffic and a music player. Live Traffic meant that the unit also had to be able to maintain a connection to the internet when route guidance was in use.

I installed the unit in a Fiat Ducato XLWB panel van which has been converted to a campervan (this vehicle is known as a Ram ProMaster in the USA) and it is in this context which I have reviewed the unit.

    Installation

The unit came with a comprehensive collection of cables, antennas and ISO wiring harnesses to facilitate the installation of the unit. The only additional items needed were a vehicle specific ISO wiring harness, aerial connection converters and a fascia panel which can all be purchased as a complete kit. Once the original unit was removed the most challenging tasks were deciding where to position the external microphone, GPS antenna & wifi antenna and then routing their cables back to the unit. The wiring was mostly plug and play with some additional connections for the steering wheel controls and handbrake sensor. The only point to note is that a choice must be made between the two ISO harnesses supplied with the unit to suit the way the accessory and battery feeds are connected in the vehicle specific ISO harness. The wiring diagram in the supplied manual shows the wiring connections needed.

Once everything is connected there is quite a collection of wires and connectors which need to be carefully arranged within the vehicle fascia before the unit is inserted. A benefit of not having a CD/DVD player is that the unit is shorter that many units and this helps with getting everything neatly into place.

    Commissioning

The first time the unit is turned on it will take approximately 30-40 secs to boot up. If the correct choice of ISO harness has been made subsequent restarts will take less than a couple of secs unless the unit has been turned off for more than a few days when it will take 30-40 secs to reboot.

Each of the individual apps that you chose to use will need to be configured. Ideally the unit should have internet access and the Google Play app signed on with a valid id while this is done so that it can check that the Android software is up to date. If a preferred app was not preloaded it will need to be downloaded from Google Play. In my case I wanted to choose the Sygic Truck Navigation app as I preferred routing guidance which respected the dimensions and weight of my vehicle.

    First impressions

Once the unit had booted I could see that the screen was bright and clear with good viewing angles. The arrangement of the icons and widgets forming the standard launcher could be easily re-configured as required and with the maximum sized screen that it is possible to fit within 2DIN dimensions there is plenty of display space. The unit responded without lag to touch input or button pushes which themselves had a positive click action and being part of the lower bezel of the unit were easily located while the vehicle was moving. Across the bottom of the display was a bar containing icons for back, home, recents, notifications, equalizer profiles, brightness and mute together with a digital clock. So far as I could tell this bar is part of the ATOTO firmware and can not be changed. In practice I found it to be quite useful particularly in a moving vehicle when these icons could be precisely located by resting a finger on the lip of the bottom bezel.

Touching a seek button on the radio widget turned it on and had it find a station. The sound produced using the default DSP settings was of of good quality and equally as good as that produced by the Kenwood unit it replaced.

    Radio

The standard tuner is an integrated AM/FM/RDS tuner controlled by a proprietary app. The app has a simple interface that controls all the essential features. Favourite stations can be saved and named for direct access. As the app is proprietary it cannot be changed but this limitation aside it performed well receiving and maintaining reception of stations in all areas with reasonable signal strength.

A DAB+ adapter is an ATOTO option which I selected. An app to control the reception of DAB radio stations was preloaded and provided a similar level of functionality as the FM app. However in this case it is possible to use a 3rd party app and I chose to load the DAB-Z app available from Google Play because of its additional features.

One aspect of having a separate DAB adapter is that there is no ability to prioritise DAB over FM with fallback to FM if the DAB signal deteriorates. However the ATOTO unit does have a station following feature within the separate FM and DAB wavebands so it will retune within the same waveband as the unit moves between transmitters broadcasting on different frequencies. Unfortunately this is something which affects all radios which utilise a DAB adapter for DAB radio station reception and so is not unique to ATOTO.

    Bluetooth

The ATOTO has two separate Bluetooth connections, one specifically for use by a phone and the other for data connections, e.g. Bluetooth tethering or OBD2 use.

A proprietary Bluetooth app is preload which provides hands-free phone functionality and also Bluetooth music streaming from a paired phone. The hands-free phone works well and the external microphone captures my voice clearly.

I was able to easily tether my phone through the second Bluetooth connection but found the connection could not be relied on to automatically connect and remain connected without manual intervention from time to time e.g. on the loss of network signal by the phone. So in this context it is better suited to short term tetherings for casual data sharing.

The second Bluetooth connection is much better suited to use by apps for OBD2 diagnostics and monitoring. There is a ATOTO specific version of the popular Torque Pro engine performance and diagnostic app preloaded on the unit which seems to work well. It will be useful tool to have should I be unlucky enough to suffer some engine malfunction in the future. Track-days and their ilk are not usually the preserve of humble campervans so I doubt that I will use the performance timing features of this app!

    WiFi

The ATOTO uses an external WiFi antenna for improved connectivity and the antenna wire is of sufficient length and quality to allow the antenna’s location to be optimised for the best signal reception. When parked on my drive the reception of the weakish signal from my home WiFi was just as good as on my phone. As I moved from location to location the WiFi reliably auto-connected to networks that had previously been configured. This was particularly useful for ensuring I had an internet connection via my phone’s hotspot available to obtain live traffic information for the Sat Nav.

    Audio player

There is a simple audio player app preloaded which can play music files from a micro SD card, a USB stick or the built in flash drive. Alternative music player apps can be loaded from Google Play and again I found a number of 3rd party apps which offered enhanced functionality.

    Sat Nav

There are a number of Sat Nav apps preloaded on the ATOTO, including Google Maps and Here WeGo but as this is an Android unit the choice is not restricted to these two and there are plenty of alternatives available from Google Play. My choice of Sygic Truck Navigation was easily installed and reliably obtains a location fix from the GPS antenna supplied with the unit. As a further illustration of the flexibility of an Android unit such as the ATOTO I was also able to add a further app called Easy Navigation which performs searches via Google Maps for places and POIs and then transfers their location directly to a number of Sat Nav apps including Sygic. This greatly eases the entry of destinations and avoids potential errors in entering co-ordinates or selecting locations. The included GPS antenna was quick to acquire its location and reliably provided location details.

    Steering Wheel Controls

My campervan has a collection of buttons on the steering wheel for controlling audio and telephone functions. The ATOTO software includes functionality to learn and map these buttons to control its audio and telephone functions. Ultimately the success of this customisation depends on the installation and I was able to obtain a reasonable level of functionality for volume change, station/track change and telephone answer/end. Where a vehicle has no steering wheel controls or satisfactory functionality cannot be obtained a controller is available from ATOTO which can be fitted to the steering wheel to provide similar capability.

    Other functions

I have restricted my review to just the functions that I am likely to use but I can appreciate the potential the ATOTO has to provide a great deal of additional functionality subject to there being a suitable app preloaded or available from Google Play. There is a portfolio of additional ATOTO accessories which can be purchased to extend the functionality of the unit. I was tempted by the Dash Board Camera but when I looked closely into its operation I found that when it was set to automatically record it would record all the time the unit was turned on. Now when installed in a car this is a perfectly sensible approach but when used in a campervan this did not make sense as there would be many occasions when the unit was turned on to provide entertainment without the vehicle moving and thus no requirement for recoding. Manual intervention would avoid this problem but create a real risk that the recording may not be activated when really needed. I did not want to run this risk and chose to use a separate dedicated Dash Cam.

    Conclusion

I have been pleased with the performance of this ATOTO unit. It has proved to be a capable and adaptable unit which has provide all the functionality I was looking for and more.

    ATOTO A6 Pro product review

Installed in a Porsche Cayman 987, looks almost OEM, white LED matches interior.
Display is probably the best one for any ICE, the resolution is more than adequate (sometimes too good if the app doesnt support big font sizes) and the black levels are great, none of that bright annoying black backlight bleed at night.
The CPU/RAM are adequate for the task, it can easily handle a bunch of apps running, like Waze, spotify and Torque at the same time. Its obviously not as fast as a modern >200$ smartphone but not annoyingly slow either.
The touchscreen is responsive and smooth to the touch, no worries there.
The OS is well optimized for car use but shouldn’t matter since you will probably always be in some app.

    Great Value

Great product, ordered this as my first choice was the XOMOX and that thing was horrendous to install and came damaged. This Atoto A6 is much better in terms of installation and far easier to understand the instructions.

Works great with my reverse camera and switches perfectly every time. My only issue with this unit although it’s not the units fault but my car is the steering wheel controls aren’t that straight forward, I had to take of the steering wheel controls in order to find the corresponding cables to attach them to the unit, testing with a multimeter as well took longer than I thought to install this unit but it was far easier than the XOMOX.

Looks great. Gps and WiFi work and connect instantly. Very responsive on touch screen. Fully customisable, like a mini tab in your car.

Needed to buy these to fit in 100%:

    Ct27aa01 iso aerial
    Ctmultilead.2 Hess connection

This is an excellent head. Came with alternative ISO power cables which allowed for an easy installation. My previous Kenwood was useless in bright daylight conditions but the screen in the A6 is superb, it is very touch responsive too. The firmware and MCU files were up to date which suggests Amazon have access to new stock. I totally recommend this unit.

Best screen I've seen for sunny conditions.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersSo far so good. Having an odd size stereo I had to buy a 2 din cage and iso adapter but all connected up and working good. Debating on getting the SWC adapter but will have a proper play before deciding on that. Wi-fi works good and Bluetooth calls a treat. YT, Torque pro and all else working as it should. No issues so far and will update if I see any problems. Pro version without gesture control. Couldn’t be happier 🙂

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI installed the A6 with dash cam, DAB+ adapter, steering wheel control canbus and a rear view camera into a Peugeot 308SW (2010). This was really straight forward because the trip is super easy to remove, and there’s plenty of space behind the dash to thread wires. Note, I am absolutely not a professional, but fairly handy with a pair of wire strippers.

You’ll need an ISO adapter for your current vehicle, which then plugs into one supplied with the radio. Super easy. The GPS, WiFi and DAB+ aerials all stick on the windscreen in the corner for best signal, and you’ll need to thread the wires as best you can to the radio.

Don’t waste your money on a power kit so you can set it up indoors, if you really want to do this the same can be achieved with a 12v dc supply and a pair of crocodile clips.

Getting into the software, it’s intuitive, the touchscreen can be a little laggy but nothing you’ll notice. Sound quality is good, and using DAB works well for me as I’m in an area of fairly poor radio reception, although this works too. (You may need a cheap adapter for your car aerial lead, I did). Then it works just like an android phone. Connects to WiFi (or a hotspot) then you have access to Spotify, Waze, Google Maps, Netflix, Facebook etc. Not to be recommended whilst driving obviously! All in all, for the price, a great little box of tricks.

Onto the issue I had – during some normal usage, the screen cracked. Now this is a 20 you could source and fix yourself pretty easily I’m sure, but the product comes with a warranty; that I decided to explore.
Couldn’t have been happier with the prompt customer service from Mia at support@myatoto.com – she’s organised a brand new head unit to be sent to me, and mine to be returned to the local distribution centre, even though this was slightly outside the bands of the warranty.

Overall, 4* for the product. Can be laggy, had my screen crack, and a little fiddly to install if you’re not all over vehicle wiring and removal of trim. No drilling though, and plenty of YouTube instructionala out there to help.
5* value for money, I can’t imagine another function I’d like to see it perform, at a fraction of the cost of some of the other units available.
And customer support I can’t praise highly enough.

    **INSTALLAZIONE**
    Installato su Giulietta MY 2016
L’installazione stata molto semplice e veloce.

    Molto a poco prezzo

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI brought a new car, so I thought how can I protect myself and have it linked to my phone.

So I looked into buying a double din head unit. It started as a hunt for the cheapest but then I thought I wanted more after the options that were available to me on this product.

The plan was to get something where all the wires are hidden from view including the connection to the phone.

    So I brought this product, I brought some add-ons as well. These were;
    Front camera
    Used as a DVR device
    Rear camera
    Used as a parking aid
    Obd adapter
Used to talk to the car, Sonu get real-time information.
    Dab adapter
Used for better quality of music.

Its an all in one unit, I hotspot my phone so I can have the internet on it. So that means Amazon music or other internet related services.

I had an issue with the gps but after good communication from the company that was sorted.

Can’t be happy enough with it.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersDespite a couple of minor issues this is a great stereo. Bought to replace a generic eBay junker that failed so miserably at everything that I couldn’t tolerate it in the car after only 2 hours, the Atoto unit was a revelation. Android runs reliably, and boot time is very good until the weather turns cold. SatNav is great (I’ve tried 3 different apps and all work fine) and locates very quickly.

Only 2 issues with the unit as a whole – the top drag down bar is very difficult to use because the screen is heavily recessed, so it generally takes 3-4 attempts to access it. Second issue is with the winter weather – much like myself, the stereo isn’t great at getting started in the mornings once the ambient drops below 2 degrees, but unlike me the stereo fires up just fine with a couple of taps on the power button. Minor complaints really, and I certainly wouldn’t let them put me off buying another.

Golden Review Award: 34 From Our UsersI had been looking at Android head units for some time, so I had done lots of research. Eventually I purchased the ATOTO A6Y2721P and really like this unit which has so many features.

During the setup and installation I had to contact ATOTO customer support by email on 3 occasions, every time there was a prompt informative response waiting for me when I awoke the next morning. The support website also has lots of info and articles, well worth a read.

During the install into my 2013 Mitsubishi L200 I noticed the supplied wiring loom had the Yellow permanent +12v, and the Red Accessory +12v into the plug on the vehicle end of the wiring loom the wrong way around for my vehicle. I was able to remove the pins with a very small watchmaker’s screwdriver and swap them over. ATOTO will provide an alternate loom if required, as this is a common issue with different vehicles. Apart from that the install was fairly uneventful, even connecting the steering wheel controls was fairly easy.

I purchased a 256Gb SD card and have loaded our entire iTunes library 38Gb (8500 songs) and several videos and there is still loads of room for more.

I especially like the integrated dashcam, the tyre pressure monitoring system, and having two Bluetooth ports the Torque application works without interfering with your phone connection. The Wi-Fi allows me to have a data connection from my phone for google maps and live traffic, while not interfering with the Bluetooth connection for the phone. The radio is very easy to program and use. The reversing camera is also very good and clear.

The screen is very sharp and the image quality is excellent, the unit is of high quality and has a good solid feel, it’s good value compared to other more expensive head units.

So all in all, if required ATOTO customer service is excellent, the A6 unit is also excellent, brimming with features not forgetting the excellent value for money. Yes I’m pleased I purchased it, and YES I would recommend this unit.

The ATOTO A6 is an excellent high quality Android replacement with lots of functionality.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’ve seen a few friends and family install Android based head units in their cars, and have wanted to do so myself for a while, but there’s so much out there to choose from I took my time and did my research.

This unit was the one for me! And it lives up to everything I wanted from it. If you’re reading this review I’m sure you’ve done a bit of homework into android head units so far, so I’ll point out why this one is a cut above the rest.

I went with the A6 pro, and was unsure if it was worth the money for the gesture controls. I’ve only set the circular motions for volume control so far, but it has become so natural to me so quickly, that I’ve found myself trying to turn the TV down/up in the same way!! I prefer it to buttons or knobs as day to day use, and your mates will think you’re the coolest kid on the block.

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersThis is a great little unit that is loaded with features.

The quality of the device seems on par with any other Android stereo.

I would suggest the power adapter (available seperately) so you can configure and set up the unit in the comfort of your home.

I did have some spurious issues where the screen would flip upside down and rotate. However this seems to have fixed itself.

Another more serious issue was the supplied ISO loom was pinned incorrectly with the two power supplies switched.

A good value unit, that offer loads of features.

This head unit is excellent. It comes with an OEM radio, essential software and a very intuitive interface, and after that its easy to customize everything to your individual taste by downloading apps from Google Play. The touch-screen is responsive and has plenty of shortcuts (physical buttons and on screen) so navigation around it is easy. The blue-tooth hands free works very nicely, the external mic picks up all talk from a third row of seats no problem. The dual blue-tooth is also an excellent feature, as it allows you to run your OBD2 in the background and it works very smoothly. The external wifi and GPS antennae also work well, you can park up outside and connect to a home or office wifi without glitches. Soundwise, the system is very good, and if you want to adjust things more to your liking you can always download a specific eq app or similar. The two external USB cables are very useful, and the SD card slot on the front is a nice feature too. Was easy to install. All in all, this is really excellent value for money and a top piece of kit. With this sort of quality kit on the market at a really affordable price point, I personally don’t see the sense in paying double or more for more established brands.

Have it now for 2 weeks and loving it more and more, it’s now fully operational with rear-camera (existing) and the Sygic GPS software (i was used to this on my smartphone) and this is working perfect with ATOTO, finally i configured my steerwheel remote and is now working with the ATOTO (with a great thanks to the support devision of ATOTO wich are fast and accurate in their explanations)
For me they get 5 stars because i dindn’t find any minus till now.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersA perfect upgrade to older head units. The Atoto A6 is feature packed, seamlessly incorporating radio, navigation, media playback (audio and video), internet connectivity, hands free calling, dashcam, reversing camera and there is also a DAB add on coming soon. It’s just like having an Android tablet build into your dash – which is essentially how it operates. Sound quality is decent and the screen is pretty good too – it has a high resolution but is a little grainy in appearance. Although it has adjustable brightness, as mine is fitted in a convertible it is a bit difficult to see the screen in the sun with the roof down.

The unit arrived well packaged and includes a well written user manual – there is good support too from the manufacturers website. It also included an ISO harness in addition to a bare wire version. Installation needs to be carefully considered and will require the appropriate mounting hardware for the target vehicle. I fitted it in a Mazda MX-5 and needed to buy the metal securing cage (which required a degree of modification to actually fit)
ATOTO Universal Metal Installation mounting Kit Securing Cage (without Frame) for Double Din Car Stereo and a vehicle harness adapter.

The unit can integrate a front (dashcam) camera and a rear reversing camera both of which are available as extras, I added the dashcam which works well ATOTO USB ON-DASH CAMERA / DVR Recorder, ONLY Compatible w/ ATOTO Selected Android Car Stereo Model

So the Atoto A6 is a good value and very versatile head unit – a worthwhile addition to any suitable vehicle.

*UPDATE* I have upgraded the Premium model with the Pro version, here is my updated review (model PRO A6Y2721PRB-G)

The latest Pro version of the Atoto A6 offers several significant enhancements over the already 5* reviewed Premium model. The biggest change is in the screen, with a crisp, clear IPS panel replacing the slightly grainy one used on previous models. Viewing angles are improved and it is less susceptible to glare from the sun, especially when fitted in a convertible car as mine is. Although the resolution is unchanged the quality of the display is worth the upgrade alone.

Amplification has also been improved and the Pro is able to drive more demanding speaker loads. Bluetooth now supports aptxX when connected to compatible devices, and WiFi works on the 5GHz band in addition to 2.4GHz.

What hasn’t changed is the ability to expand the A6 into a comprehensive infotainment system to rival that in the very latest cars. Optional DAB+, front dashcam and rear reversing cameras are available along with an OBDII module to connect to your vehicle diagnostic port. Atoto have also just introduced a module to provide Android Auto and Apple CarPlay functions.

Running full Android 6.0, enhanced for in car use, and offering excellent audio and video quality, the Atoto A6 Pro is undoubtedly one of the best devices currently on the market and comes highly recommended. Should you need it, Atoto’s customer support is also very good.

Feature packed Android head unit to bring your car up to date!

De todas formas no he probado el externo an.

    Android

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis unit arrived on time and so far really impressed. I have yet to fit it but it looks pretty straightforward as I have paired it with the appropriate ISO adapter to save having to wire it up this makes it pretty much plug and play. I also purchased the mains adaptor so I can easily set up the apps etc. in my house.
The quality looks really good well packaged and instructions are well written and clear.

Golden Review Award: 17 From Our Usersi really love this radio, i bought it from Italy and the package arrived quickly and perfectely wrapped….
the radio has been installed by a wire car expert ( sorry i don’t know the exact synonymus for this in english) and he told me that it took a lot of time due to all the wires to install the radio, he made a an electro-circuit (double wires) so when i turn off the car, the radio is shut off completely avoiding stand by or sleep mode…
Bluetooth runs smooth, i have been able to connect my Iphone, ipod and an old Mp3 player without any issues…
The coming Voice Call is clear ( i put the external microphone) too loud for me so i always turn down the volume
The screen resolution is fine, i didn’t like a lot the built in wallpapers so i downloaded extra ones…
About Navigation: i downloaded tha App ” Maps Offline” and worked very well for me, i live in Italy but i work in Switzerland, i have to drive 60 Km everyday…i didn’t like the native navigation app you will find (NAvi ??) so i went to the other one..
the WIFI is fantastic!!! i downloaded all the maps using my Home wifi, the car was outside about 50 meters away, and all went ok
the Radio works perfectly and RDS function runs smooth…..so you can read song’s title, text, programs’ name etc…..

    the so so parts:-
    – BT runs smooth but when i connect my phone and than i want to connect the ipod, it seems that this one is not connected looking at the Bt screen of the radio…. the connection pop up from Ipod only and than the music begins…..
    – Call contact, i tried to salve favourites, you see the option in the screen, but when i push and hold on the name ( as written in the manual) the Phone App shut down…….( a software bug!???) so i manage favourites from my mobile….
i downloaded Netflix just to check the streaming part, using my 4G hotspot it went perfctely!!
so far i am very very happy with this Radio, i know that i will not use al the functions and potentials it offers but i am satisfied with this purchase

    Perfect 2DIN radio!!!

Golden Review Award: 54 From Our UsersWow, just wow!

This is my first venture into the Android Car Stereo and I’m not disappointed at all! I’ve been waiting for this new model to come out for a few months now, having read great things about the previous ATOTO model.

Everything comes pre-installed, so within minutes I had connected my Google Account, loaded up the SAT NAV and started finding places immediately. Better still, the navigational instructions automatically lower the sound level of the music (which was being played directly from Spotify!) so that you could hear them.

The bluetooth connection to the phone worked first time, with all my contacts, call history etc appearing on the screen. Tried calling home and they could hear me very clearly. I’m using the additional microphone packaged in the box, so I’m not sure what the built in one is like.

The wifi receiver seems very good, easily picking up the hotspot from my phone, as well as the main router in the house (car parked in drive).

I can’t say I’ve used all the features yet as there is much to discover.

Installation-wise, I needed an expert as I have an imported Japanese car and all the wiring was a bit weird, but the install only took an hour (50) so I cannot complain. They were also impressed with the unit, especially when I told them the cost!

With the unit having Google Play, you can pretty much download anything. I installed Kodi and I can tell you it works perfectly. I would recommend the 2GB RAM version of this ATOTO unit if you want to run Kodi and lots of other apps smoothly.

Any questions just fire away because I bloody love this stereo 😀

NOTE: 18th September. Someone asked about whether the radio was any good. To be honest, I haven’t managed to tune it into anything yet as I’m not sure the people who installed the stereo put the aerial in right. However, I did download one of the many radio apps from Google Play which works perfectly (as long as you have an internet connection of course).

NOTE: 18th September. Over the weekend I put a Micro SD into the system. SanDisk Ultra 64 GB MicroSDXC UHS-I Memory Card with SD Adapter – Frustration Free Packaging . It has to be formatted first by the system before putting anything on it (I learned the hard way!), but once formatted I just popped in out, put a load of music and movies onto it, and then stuck it back in. The system automatically scans the Micro SD, so if you open the music app for example, everything is right there. No trouble, no hassle.
