This is a plug and play HDMI capture card which is compatible with wide range. Its ultra low latency and UHD. Its stream in 4k60 with OBS which is compatible with Windows. Overall a good card.

This really is a plug and play (once joined up with software, you can use theirs or link to your own). This plugs into the PCIe slot in an up to date pc, as long as you have a reasonable high spec you will get no latency with a high res image (if your hardware is a bit older you can reduce the resolution but it is an expensive but of kit if you are going to do this).

The AVerMedia Capture Card GC571 Live Streamer ULTRA HD is great for beginners in streaming and content creation. Wide compatibility, including PC, Playstation 4 & 5, Xbox One & Series X/S, and Switch makes it very versatile and suitable for the latest consoles and games.

It captures footage at 4K in 30 FPS and 1080p in 120 FPS, which is very nice. Whether I’m recording gameplay sessions or live streaming, the clarity and smoothness of the video are great. I only do it for fun occasionally with no real commitment, and this is simple and easy to use to make it worthwhile. The PCIe slot installation ensures a stable and reliable connection, eliminating any worries about lag or latency during intense gaming moments.

At a price point of 159.99, the GC571 offers decent value and very similar to comparable alternatives from different brands, so it’s a great choice to get started on.

In conclusion, if you’re looking for a capture card to start streaming or content creation, this is worth getting, and I can recommend this as it’ll be great until you go pro and need a more intensive unit.

First off, the setup was a breeze. Popped it right into my PCIE slot, and boom, we’re in business. No fussing with drivers or updates, just plug and play. About picture quality. Solid 1080p at 60fps, and man, it looked crisp. the card doesn’t compress the picture, so we are not losing any detail. Flawless. No lag whatsoever, which is a huge plus. it ran for hours everyday without any issues. The price of 159.99 seems reasonable.

This GC575 video capture card from AverMedia is simple to install – just make sure you have a spare accessible PCIe slot available in your PC.
And you will need a decent spec PC to run this.
In the box it’s pretty minimal – you get the card and a single HDMI 2.1 cable.
Installation on a windows 11 system was plug and play. The PC recognised the card and that was pretty much it.
Max pass through resolution is up to 2160 @ 144 HDR.
    Max recording resolution is 2160 @ 60 .
Easy connectivity to whatever source you want to use eg XBox or PlayStation and in this current format it’s pretty much up to date with other solutions out there.
And if you’re into RGB lighting on the card itself it has that as well.
There are downloadable drivers if you want to use them but this ran pretty much out of the box on my PC.
If you are into live gaming / live streaming this may be worth a look.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth looking at if you're live streaming

Being able to pass through up to 144Hz 4K resolution and capture 4K at 60Hz used to be nigh impossible with older capture cards. This is a game changer!

This is the beefiest capture card on the market right now. HDMI 2.1 internal and external.

    Most Useful Capable capture resolutions:
    3840p (4k) 60fps
    1440p (2k) 120fps
    1080p (Full-HD) 240fps

    Most Useful Capable Passthrough Resolutions:
    3840p (4k) 144Hz
    1440p (2k) 240Hz
    1080p (Full-HD) 360Hz

    Bonus: Ultrawide 1440p (3440x1440p) at 144fps

All of these passthrough’s are HDR and variable refresh rate, too.

So if you already have the beefiest and capable screens to handle the output, or be able to churn out the FPS for those resolutions (which most aren’t) this covers you. If you can’t, this will future proof your capture and passthrough capabilities for at least the next few years… Easily!

You’re all set if you have the latest PS5 or Xbox Series console and want to record at their highest.
Have a beefy gaming PC that you don’t want to sacrifice performance, record to your dedicated editing machine through this card.

What’s the difference between the internal and external version of this?
Nothing from what I can tell – I assume for the external, you just need the bandwidth over the port you’re using.

    Why do I recommend?

Because this supports all the latest HDMI 2.1 standards, variable refresh rates, HDR and nearly the limits of what your money can buy for screens, etc. – It’s future proof for the majority.

For Xbox and Playstation owners – This is aimed specifically for you. As previously you had to sacrifice when capturing, because you had to output from your console, to an inferior capture card and back out to the TV – Losing majority of your features.
This supports all of that, meaning you can capture what you want and output back to the TV, the experience you are supposed to have.

    Absolutely recommend!

I fitted this into a desktop PC with a spare slot. Much easier than with a laptop. I used the provided software to live-stream editing sessions of photos to a photography group. I could have done this with screen sharing, but this was better and easier for people to follow.

It worked well, and I was pleased with the members’ response regarding how professional it felt as a stream. I was glad I had the desktop, and I would have felt anxious about opening my new laptop for it !!

Good value for my purposes which were much less demanding than gamers.

First of all this is really easy to set up it’s pretty much plug and play, straight into a PCI slot and you’re away.

I have an external Avermedia device which is great but with this being internal it hides it all away and keeps everything tidy.

The pass through works really well, I didn’t feel any input lag while playing, I tested with Zelda on switch, jedi survivor and Lego Fortnite both on ps5. All worked seamlessly and the recorded gameplay looked really good.

This card is obviously limited by the fact it will only pass through 60hz at 4k but it comes through really smooth.

The only thing I would say is just make sure your PC specs are enough to run it.

A sung fit in my pc but works well. One thing to note is it uses it own software drivers unlike logitech, so it not quite plug and play. Bought it to reduce the laytancy I was experiencing with my DLR plugged in. Works great and has fixed that issue it is also perfect for capturing game consoles in my case the switch.

I needed a Program Input from Atem Mini Pro Iso to Vmix, and a loop through to a Monitor. I can then Record all Inputs to the Atem via USB C and keep the Program signal (or other) for a dedicated monitor. As such I can create a secondary Production Mix from Vmix to a live audience, showing either the ATEM program mix or a more complex, localised Program output to more monitors/projectors in the venue.

    So where do I start?!

For full transparency the majority of my equipment is in fact Elgato, I love the brand and am not bashing but this review may hopefully help someone else.

I initially had a HD60S+ which served its purpose but was outgrown, I needed more so went for the HD60X and had no end of issues regarding random stutter and it randomly dropping to sub 40 FPS for no good reason. I tried it on 2 unique high end dedicated streaming machines and the issue followed it. After a grueling period of trial and error I got in touch with Elgato who issued an RMA… This happened three times each time with the exact same issue across multiple machines with fresh builds, I even rebuilt one with a linux distro to rule out Windows 10/11 services and processes but the issue was still there. I swapped it out for a 4K60 Pro which, was slightly better but would not maintain a smooth enough stream / recording to use in production, after more back and forth with Elgato support (which was very painful) I got a refund and thought I would try my luck with the Avermedia live gamer duo.

To say I am happy with this decision would be an understatement, A constant smooth 60FPS is maintained with no degradation, I actually purchased an Avermedia Live Gamer Ultra as a backup as I was so happy with the performance and this is on the same systems that the Elgato cards were so problematic on.

Another benefit, I hooked up my gaming PC to HDMI IN 2 as I dont use pass through for PC recording / streaming and a HDMI switch to HDMI IN 1 one for my Series X and Nintendo Switch as that is the only input with pass through. It works like a charm and I would recommend to anyone.

Avermedia seriously stepped in with this card when I needed it most, I had spent months trying to resolve an issue (that many have been suffering) with its Elgato counterparts that was consuming too much time and causing far to much hassle. Thank you Avermedia!!!

    **NOTE**
I tested the Live Gamer Ultra intensely and that did NOT suffer the same issues as the HD60X or 4K60 Pro I had, I could have been unlucky with 5 devices but from what I have seen in forums and groups I dont think that is the case. I hope this info helps someone else 🙂

Where Elgato failed, Avermedia stepped i

Easy to install and easy to use, now I can record old Batamax, VSH and Camcorder tapes into my PC. Also record old progs (2014 on) from my old Sky box that will itself fail soon.

Far better than the Elgato line.

Connected, driver installed, immediately picked up in OBS, no questions asked.

Currently using it to capture some older games through a HDMI modded system with an OSCC upscaler, even the bitrate seems much higher than my previous internal cards. Colour clarity is gorgeous when set to full range whereas on the older models it looked a little more washed out.

Haven’t tried my PS4 or Switch yet, but I’d imagine it looks just as gorgeous as my HDMI modded (WiiDual) Wii does.

Uses a larger pci-e slot, my old avermedia (the c985) and my Elgato (hd60 pro) uses a x1 slot while this I think uses a x4? Had to move some of my PCI devices around to make room for it. Something to be aware of.

    Highly recommend.

    Excellent card

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersAVerMedia Live Gamer Duo
Getestet mit einer Xbox One X

    Positiv:

    – Einfache Installation der Karte
    – Einfache Verwendung
    – Macht mehr oder weniger was sie soll
    – Keine / Kaum Latenz auf dem Monitor
    – 4k60 Passtrough (Nur im Spiel)
    – OBS Studio wird problemlos untersttzt

    Negativ:

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI have been looking for a capture card for a while to live stream to YouTube, this worked perfectly for what I wanted. I streamed for over 4 hours and I didn’t have any problems, the metal shroud keeping the card covers seems to work well as a heat sink. Just make sure your computer has good air flow and you should be good.

I used StreamLabs and never touched the AVerMedia software, so I won’t be commenting on how well that performs.

The “Live Gamer HD 2” is the PCIe capture card, plugged in really easy. No drivers / updates required. Literally worked right out of the box so it was just plug ‘n play. The HDMI pass through worked wonders, I couldn’t actually feel any input lag which was nice as you do get a bit of an input delay when passing through a capture card. Huge plus on that front.

Solid 1080p 60fps image quality from the nintendo switch, I had no comments during the live stream about any problems with the image quality and I watched some of the footage back and it does appear that the card DOESN’T compress the picture quality which is a good thing. You don’t lose any detail in the image but does put more stress on your hardware to process it.

This leads me onto my next point, people gave this 1 star because they don’t know what to do or don’t know how these devices work. You DO need a high end computer to live stream a decent bitrate – high resolution image. You can’t expect a lower end desktop to encode the image for a live stream without problems. The best thing you can do is drop the bitrate in your streaming software until you get a smooth image, this does mean you will be sacrificing image quality the lower the bit rate though.

I have attached an image of the live stream, this was recorded at 1080 – 60 fps – 6500 bitrate and this is AFTER YouTube ran it through processing and the image quality is still fantastic.

5.0 out of 5 stars First stream with this went better than expected - See image quality

First of all, let me start by saying that you don’t need to download any software, aside from the drivers to use this. It runs out of the box with OBS and XSplit. The bundled software is in many ways inferior to those platforms, however, for capturing and streaming my Nintendo Switch, it’s absolutely flawless. Silky smooth 60FPS gameplay when in docked mode. At least, on those titles that support 60FPS.

Golden Review Award: 31 From Our UsersI initially bought an Elgato Cam Link with the intent to livestream drawing using my DSLR. I had no end of issues with the device, you have to faff around and install their capture software before the computer even recognises the Cam Link, and my image kept freezing every few seconds despite it being a powerful PC, having it in a USB 3.0 slot and fast enough internet. While their customer service was very helpful, they were pretty slow in getting things sorted out and eventually I gave up and chalked it down to a faulty capture device, so I returned it.

However with the Live Gamer HD 2 all I had to do was insert it into my PC and go. It automatically installed the drivers with no bloatware needed and it runs extremely well with Xsplit. Zero stuttering or freezing. Comes with a HDMI cable and male-male aux cable included too! I’m very happy and wish I’d saved myself the trouble and gone for this one in the first place!
