Power and PerformanceThe Alligator Powered Lopper jaws offer the ultimate in controlled cutting. This cutting tool has a large cutting capacity (10cm jaw length) which makes light work of branches and logs up to 4″/10cm. The rugged metal guard protects the jaws from damage, whilst the auto oil feature ensures a fully lubricated chain reducing any chance of breakage. | Innovative DesignThe design allows the user to use the tool in the same way as a manual lopper but with the added power and cutting performance of a chainsaw. The lopper style dual switch handles provide optimal control and comfort. The lightweight design and fully enclosed bar and chain makes it much easier to handle compared to a standard chainsaw. The rugged metal guards that cover the jaws protect you from the cutting chain and immediately cover the blades once the cut is complete. | Main Uses and ApplicationsThe Alligator Powered Lopper works like a manual lopper however its chainsaw likeness expands its capabilities. The tool can be used to easily prune trees back and remove stubborn branches. The jaws also allow the user to safely cut larger branches down to a smaller size, these logs can then be used for wood burners or just for easier disposal. | SafetyIt is important to remember to wear the appropriate safety equipment such as approved safety gloves or goggles (available separately). This ensures full protection for the user against any loose debris that may move towards you. Remember to make sure the branch or log you want to cut is not too big for the lopper as this may damage the jaws. Avoid stretching for out of reach branches to cut as this also may cause injury. |

This cutter is brilliant – easy & safe to use – does the job with ease.
I used to cut up log using a chain saw and bench, but they always had to be held in place and the sawdust got everywhere. This tool holds the logs in place as you cut them, and the saw dust comes out of an opening at the end of the chain, so controls the sawdust direction. I cut a cubic meter of logs in an hour with very little mess and with far less danger than a conventional chainsaw. Brilliant bit of kit, would deofinately buy it again.
very good product easy to use better than chain saw good price
This thing is a beast love it only thing is to tighten the chain is a bit fiddly need 3 hand as there is no screw like most chainsaws and to keep the chain oiled I found it did better with a large syringe then the bottle that came with it as there is no oil reservoir so every 5 mins you have to oil it
But put that aside I love it did two tones of wood one in one long day
I removed about 30 leylandii from a huge hedge – safer and quicker than a chain saw.
Fantastic piece of equipment went through our tress like butter.made very light weight of i
I bought this primarily to cut down some large overgrown Buddleia bushes that were abot 12 feet tall, with stems of about 3 inches or so. It went through them like a hot knife through butter! I’m sure it is quite capable of much tougher jobs than mine, and it looks as good as it did out of the box before I did the job.
I’ve had chain saws in the past but didn’t need something as powerful.
These loppers were more than man enough for the job. Well made, and I expect them to last me out.
My only (slight) criticism was I find them a little heavy, but I am elderly and unfit.
Well done Black & Decker.
Best thing I have ever bought for the garden, easy to use, I love it.
Delighted with these. I can safely and easily cut medium branches on shrubs. Caution, short lead – needed an extension lead.
It went through two large branches of a tree in no time, it says oils every ten minutes of use, that’s a lot of cutting given the speed it gets through quite large branches.
I’m impressed… I expected it to be harder work, I was up the ladder less time than it took me to climb it.
Cutting in a scissor action is actually very stabilising having to press the buttons on both sides was unexpected, but I understand why, it’s a reasonable safety measure to assure you have a firm grip on both sides…
Works really well and feels safe to use with the protective jaws holding the chainsaw to the branch being cut.
I purchased this principally to chop up a lot of yew hedging that I’d cut back to the trunk. This machine did the job in short time. Needed regular oiling with chainsaw oil and as others have mentioned, it’s best to apply the oil direct to the chain blade, I did this every 5 minutes or so. It’s not easy to hold the blades open to do this and remember to unplug.
Have been looking for a powered lopper for a long time , this one fits the bill . Very pleased with the item , cuts through decent size branches with ease, wouldn’t do for a professional woodcutter but for small jobs around the garden is ideal , would recommend.

This is my second – first lasted probably 10+ years before motor failed and I use it a lot as have large garden.
If you can get the jaws round the branch it will cut it.
