How to Identify Your Velux Window
When purchasing our blinds there is no need to measure your window to identify the blind size you require. Most of the window manufacturers have a plate located at the top or side of the window frame which will have a window type and code. See examples below:

Fabric
Bloc blinds offer a range of five different colour’s in blackout fabric. Each blind is complete with sleek and strong silver aluminium frame which adds to any room interior, ideally suited for bedrooms where maximum light exclusion is the key to a good nights sleep.
The blackout fabric used has a white acrylic backing which will help reflect the sun in the summer months and retain heat in the winter months. The white coloured backing allows you to achieve a unique look in each room whilst maintaining a sleek look from the outside.

Took a chance it would fit on an older velux window as I doubted the codes but needed one quickly. It fits perfectly. Was really easy to install and works beautifully. Really pleased with the purchase.

Easy to fit, even at height!
Bought this for our velux window, as the sun was causing screen glare in our home office. It was really easy to fit, even though the window is at full bungalow eaves height and difficult to access – took less an half an hour.

Very easy to install. Realised I didn’t have to pay over 100 to obtain decent looking velux blinds. There is a slight gap that remains when blinds are closed. But for the price I’m very happy with the purchase.

Can't fault it at all
This was one of the cheaper blinds I found online. But the quality is absolutely spot on, perfect fit in the window, easy to install and the instructions were clear. So far it has been perfect for keeping the light out.
I did use longer screws than the ones provided to hold in the blind itself as it has quite a bit of weight to it.
Glad I never paid double the price from a different site.
Easy from start to finish
Ordering was super easy thanks to the ID code. Arrived the next day and from unboxing to installing took me around 15mins . Fitting instructions easy to follow.

Nothing to dislike about it. Instructions are straightforward and don’t get impatient if you don’t get it straight away. It’s a two person job to guarantee no hiccups. A lovely blind and nice price.

We now have 4 of these, all the same colour, one is a different size to the other 3. The first was the hardest to put up, but with subsequent orders we found it easier and also found that the instructions improved in the later purchases. Really glad that we bought them as they keep a lot of the cold out during the night and help keep our rooms warm.
They are easy to open and close with just one hand, simply push the bottom metal bracket slightly towards the window and the blind will move freely up or down until you release it, then it stays where you left it.
Look really nice once installed – my photos were taken at night but still some idea of how good they look and much cheaper than buyer velux ones.
Better than the official Velux product!
I bought this blind as a replacement for an official Velux blind that had failed. From experience of three failed Velux blinds I can confirm the flaw in the manufacturer’s OEM product is the exposed cords, which the blind run up and down during operation. This becomes stripped over time and frays, rendering the blind unusable. The first major plus with this third party, lower priced blind, is that the cords are concealed.
The second big plus is they have a simple mechanism that locks the blind in place at whatever position you pull it to. Then you simply tilt the handle to unlock it and retract the blind. The official Velux blind does not have this great feature.
A third plus is ease of installation. The blind is secured by a strip of high bond tape on the top edge of the cassette and just four screws. The Velux version has eight screws, which just seems excessive when you see how effectively this unit is fixed to the window frame.
The side rails are wider than the Velux blinds, which I prefer from an aesthetic standpoint.
The build quality is superb and, thanks to very clear instructions, the blind was a breeze to install.
I tend not to write many reviews but I’m full of praise for this product and like to give credit where it’s due.
I have another two defective official Velux-branded blinds which i’ll now replace with these blinds. And another two Velux windows I’ve never put blinds on but will now.

I was worried that the blind wouldnt install because our GGL C04 window has Velux clips at the top of the window for a Velux pick and click blind. None of the Bloc videos online show these clips in the window so i was nervous it would be the right size but would not fit because of the clips. However those nerves were unfounded as the blind has a cut out to allow for the clips.
It took me 5 minutes to install and it provides a very good blackout function

Needed to replace an existing one, after some research, decided on this one.
I have to say this is much better quality, smoother slide on the blind and sturdier then our original one (which was up for 10+ years), hence expecting this to last some years.

I’m very impressed by these, top quality parts, easy to fit with just 4 screws, amazing price, ours are up high and can be adjusted with the pole, you simply pull straight down to close and let go to stop at any point for that position and push up on the bottom bar for the blind to automatically glide back up on its spring loaded mechanism, only down side if picky is there’s a 1mm gap at the bottom as the rubber gasket doesn’t quite reach but not really noticeable, don’t delay if wondering about other reviews I assume they got wrong sizes or something, nothing wrong with these at all!

I cannot believe how easy these are to install. 10 minutes max! They arrived with no screws, but not an issue as they only needed 4 small ones to complete the install. The video on here is completely accurate, other videos online make it look far more complicated than it really is. Mechanism works great following install, I’ll update should there be a problem over time.
Highly recommend these blinds (more so than the original Velux brand i previously had that broke).
If i told you i can’t stop smiling at the ease of installing these that should tell you all you need to know!

Excellent product and a great price and took less than 5 mins to fit.
Was shocked to see the branded blind was about half the price of the window itself, so shopped around and found this one. I was initially put off because I wanted a grey blind and the only frame choices left were silver and my window is white.
Opted for silver and it looked far better than I expected because the opening handle is silver and the frame is a light silver. The instructions are illustration only which need a little pondering.
Easy to fit. Do the top strip first – slot in and secure with screws provided, the tricky part is guiding the blind into the side runners which are also simple to install with the aid of screws. Simply pull the blind down to close but push the blind towards the window when raising – which isn’t so obvious.
It fits snugly when closed and darkens the room well with the blackout material. Very pleased.

First before ordering you will need all six ,yes six code numbers/letters eg GGL M06
The first three are the width and fitting the second the length
Once the correct blinds arrive ( very quickly) they take only a few minutes to fit , I did drill pilot holes for the screws
Making sure the blind is inserted in the runner guide before the last drew goes in,
Pulling down the blind and stopping ware required to open push the blind end-rail to release and the blind opens ,great value

I bought two of these to replace the original Velux blinds.
The Velux springs for rewinding (10 years old) had got tired. I decided to give these a try as replacements.
These blinds make a very close copy of the Velux, are easier to fit, and way cheaper to buy.
The major difference in operation is that the Velux pull up and down simply by gripping the bottom bar. These blinds also have a bottom bar, but to pull them up and down you have to push the bottom bar in towards the glass then move them. Someone used to the straight up and down Velux procedure would think these had jammed, – until they pushed the bar in and then moved them.

i work nights and our bed is right underneath our ceiling window, so summer time is the worst in trying to sleep. I didnt even know they made things like this and if they did I never new how cheap they are. I love this blind im so glad I brought one it really does block out all the light. its easy to put up, i just watched the video on here on how to assemble it. just a F.Y.I the screws are taped to the inside of the packaging so be careful not to throw the box out without checking as I nearly did lol.

Bought for a very old GGL 206 window and I was worried that this wouldn’t fit and/or be complicated to fit. How wrong was I? Tricky for 1 person to fit, but not impossible, just 4 screws and a bit of manipulation and it fitted perfectly. Made up now as the lack of blackout has been a major problem for a while in our loft.
If you simply note down the make and size from the end of the window closure and buy the correct related item, I hope it fits as well as our did.

Rarely do I write a review. This product is exactly like the velux own brand version. I have lots of velux windows. Having spent a fortune on the own brand ones in bedrooms I tried these in our kitchen. They are perfect. Fit the same as the velux brand and block out all the light for half the price. What more can you ask for.

These were in perfect condition and easy to install. There was 1 metal side missing with one of them but as they were replacements it was fine as we already had the fixings

Absolute doddle to fit. Blocking out the light from outside really well. Really good mechanism for raising and lowering the blind. Looks smart too as it exactly fits the window.

Blind fits and works well, seems like a good quality item. The instructions are dreadful, just half a dozen or so line drawn pictures with no text to assist. These blinds do need to be screwed into the window frame, unlike the genuine Velux ones. Overall though, I’m very happy with the operation and look

Great Quality Blind
This is a really great quality blind, and a very reasonable price. We had no issues with the size or colour, and was very easy to fix. Works really well at cutting out daylight in the bedroom.
fantastic but not the right colours
looks great and is a complete blackout. I ordered 3 pewter colour and ended up with 1 pewter and 2 cream???luckily, two of the windows are in the dining room and one in kitchen so just put them up. You don’t really see the colours anyway, the blind is hidden when its rolled up and completely dark when down(still not the point). very easy to install and able to do it alone with only a screwdriver and 4 screws.

This blind is amazing, and definitely blocks the sun out. The only thing I found a bit fidely was the side panels, but once I got the right angle it was easy. Would highly recommend this product.

We were nervous to buy blinds that weren’t actually Velux, but these are half the price and so far have been just as good. Waited a month since fitting to review – they were very easy to fit, 4 screws, they fit perfectly using the Velux size code, and they have worked very well. I would recommend.

Much easier to fit than the Velux branded original I had – just 4 screws and some adhesive tape and you’re done. In addition it is much simpler and more robust in design and so I hope this will last longer. It’s also half the price!

Friend that has Velux with Velux branded blinds saw these ones that I installed on my windows and pronounced then far superior! Having never seem Velux branded blinds I can’t comment.
What I do know is they took about 60 seconds to install each one and they look like they were meant to be there.
Very close to blackout with only minor light leakage at the bottom. I doubt you could get better.
The blind is sprung. You pull the base of the blind and it stays where it’s needed. To release it you simply push the handle and the blind retracts. Couldn’t be easier.
Will now be ordering 4 more for the remaining rooms, just as soon as they come back into stock!
(BTW, the screws are taped to the inside of the corrugated cardboard box)

Came with a small hole in it. Fitted ok after a bit of faffing about but doesn’t roll up and down smoothly as where the hole is as keeps on catching and coming out of the tracks. Changed to 5* from 3* after a replacement blind was delivered extra quickly and fits and looks great.
It’s cheaper than the Velux version, and doesn’t share the design flaw of cords which rub and fray.
It was very easy to install – almost thought they’d forgotten the screws but found them taped to the packaging.
The blackout effect is pretty much complete except a glimmer at the bottom.
However it takes up more room within the window frame than the Velux own version, so a little less light gets in when open.

Bought this to cover a window in the bedroom when our newborn was sleeping with us. When the blind is closed the room is pitch black. The blind is easy to install just two screws and it’s very durable. Been up for well over a year and still going strong.

Bought these because of the video that shows a simple installation.
First off no screws came with the blinds.
Found the installation not as easy, top but was easy but the side bits were a pain. I finally got one side in with a bit of brute force once in the other side when it easier. Once in I’m really pleased with it does a good job of keeping the light out.

Fits well and looks good. Only issue I have is that I find it hard to open, but I think that’s more to do with my height! As my hubby doesn’t have this issue. This was a lot cheaper than the manufacturer one and I don’t think you would be able to tell the difference.

When it first arrived in the Amazon packaging … I thought OMG! WHat have I bought it’s not in any official box. However it was really packaged well with the instructions. I struggled with the instructions as I’m a DIY phobe but after youtubing a 2:12 second video on installing it I managed to put this blind up in 10 minutes after watching the video. Actually real simple installation, good quality and I’m really Pleased with it.

I had located the code for my window in the top frame and having read the item description automatically assumed you only needed the first three letters (ie GPL etc) to be a suitable match so thought it would fit my window. Please note you also need the next three set of digits as well (i.e. C02 or C04 or M06 etc (sorry if stating the obvious, just hoping others won’t make the same mistake I did when ordering in a hurry)). As such I ordered a blind which was too small (C02 rather than M06) and had to send it back and order the larger size.
However, the original blind arrived quickly, looked easy to assemble and of good quality. I just wish I had taken the time to check and make sure I ordered the right size first time around.

Good blind but a bit tricky to fit. Also its not ideal for a valued ceiling windows as even with the pole its almost impossible to open and close. Its really for a window you can reach yourself.

I decided to take the plunge with this blind as it seemed like a good deal compared to the 100+ blinds from the Velux website. The blind took less than 20 minutes to set up, and you only need a screwdriver – no hammer or drill necessary.
This blind certainly works well in keeping out light; even a cat will be left in pitch-black darkness with these down at night. During daylight hours however, some light is apparent at one or both sides of the blind as well as the corners, but still very little (as a demonstration, I am sitting 3m away from the blind down on a bright afternoon, and I am having trouble seeing my keyboard while typing this review). If you are looking for pitch-black darkness even during daylight hours then a blind directly from Velux may be a safer bet as I’d expect a tighter fit (within several hundred microns?) for the price you pay for their blinds.
The blind comes with durable metal frames, and the blind material doesn’t look like it would tear easily. The blind mechanism is simple and easy to operate. In order to pull the blind down, simply pull down the handle and let go at the desired height. To roll up the blind and let more light in, press the handle gently while allowing the blind to recede before letting go at the desired height.
All-in-all I’d buy this product again. I am not too fussed about achieving 100% darkness during daylight hours; I am more than happy with 95% especially at this price point. The blind looks durable and the metallic frames add a stylish and modern touch to my loft.
