    Ergonomic design

Convenient hedge cutting in nearly every position thanks to the multi-position front handle with its transparent hand guard.

  3. hg

    Safe and efficient

The tool’s blade-tip protector helps cut effortlessly along walls and the ground.

  4. hg

    Ideal for medium-sized hedges

The laser cut blades allow the hedge trimmer to cut through branches up to 25 mm in diameter.

I always used garden shears to trim my hedge, but as I get older I need some powered help. This cordless trimmer works wonderfully, the hedge is trimmed in half the time it took previously.

Really pleased with this. Power good comparable to a corded one. Last a good 90 mins on battery and only takes 1 hour to recharge. Well worth buying would recommend

Pleasantly suprised at how effective a battery operated hedge cutter is….was not sure I should buy but am certainly glad I did. Battery re charges quickly and the battery charge is sufficient to do a hedge 50m long and 2m high.

    Pleasure to work with
Arrived on time. This is the third trimmer we bought in the last three years to trim our 100 meter hedge. This Bosh trimmer is light, very manouvrable. We bought a batter which takes 4 hours to charge from totally flat but lasts about one hour. On/Off buttons are in the right place so you can easily turn the trimmer sideways or up side down as its light and ergonomic. No cord to cut trough (which we did with the others). Cuts well trough finger thick brunches but remember this it is not a chainsaw. Highly recommended.

I'm surprised how good this is!
I have been using a 500W mains trimmer for the last 10 years and it has done the job well and still does but is heavy and takes some effort to push the springs.
I bought this light weight cordless to make my job a bit easier so I dont procrastinate.

It cuts in huge sweeps like a knife through butter, I cant believe how easily it gets through heavy growth.
The time it takes to cut my hedge is around 1/3 now.
As long as it remains reliable this deserves 5 stars.

    No Lead, No Petrol
I ordered this model because it’s half the weight of my old petrol trimmer, and no electric lead to cut which I normally did when I had a corded trimmer. So far found it easy to use and less of a strain on my arthritic hands.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersRemarkable. Brilliant. All the manufacturer's claims are true...
Astonishing performance. Used it for the first cut on 30m of 9′ high Cypress hedging then a serious attack – cutting back 3″ – on 10m of 12′ hedging – all on(less than) one charge. It was slowing at the end but that’s hardly surprising. It’s immeasurably better than the corded trimmer it replaced.

I didn’t think it possible to develop such a profound and romantic bond for a power tool, so quickly – it took ages for love to bloom with my cordless screwdriver – but if it weren’t for the danger of accidental castration in the throes of passion I’d marry this thing. That said, my wife might also have some say in those proceedings.

The power and speed of the tool is great, it has a large run time, it’s well made and it stops when overloaded and then cuts through the branch. Its easily the best tool for trimming with no cables and long run time plus well made

Battery operated? Will it be up to the job? Should I buy a cheaper mains operated one with more watts?
Well, I took a gamble and went for it. Mostly due to not having to mess about with cables. I’m very impressed, in fact I’m amazed! It’s an awesome bit of kit. To those people out there that say it jams, it doesn’t jam, it stops cutting when the branch is too much. All you do is release the trigger and start again. It is after all a hedge trimmer, not a chainsaw. I have no reservations over this now, it did take a few moments to chop through the thicker branches of my Jasmine but it did do it and I had my doubts it would be capable. Read the instructions, read the reviews, and you won’t go wrong. Anything this doesn’t cut then you really need to think about an industrial hedge trimmer or a small chainsaw.
I read so many questions about lubricating it and what to use. Firstly, do not use wd40, it’s not a lubricant or oil. I was I wasn’t sure about silicone or oil but 3-IN-ONE make a multi purpose oil with PTFE which is perfect.
I actually treated myself to a can of STIHL Superclean which is expensive but specifically made for hedge trimmers. It’s a resin solvent with lubricant. Definitely worth buying.
I used the trimmer for about 30 mins but not constantly and afterwards the battery recharged in 10 mins

A powerful and very flexible trimmer.
Well-made and light-weight. Cuts through thick hedges with ease. Battery life is good, and the interchangeability between different tools enabled me to buy just the hedge trimmer without the battery or charger, which was much cheaper, and at the same time I bought the power drill with two batteries and the charger and in that combination saved about 60 overall. Batteries charge within an hour and have a running time of 45mins+, ie the two together give an hour and a half uninterrupted work. By which time your arms are dropping off, so coffee time!

This is a really lightweight trimmer, despite being battery powered it’s quite capable of unexpectedly cutting thicker branches (it has a handy cutting edge at the tip of the blade for this purpose). The charge lasts for a very long time under normal usage.

Arrived on time, well packaged. Easy and light to operate. Battery charged quickly. A real charm to use without the hassle of the electric lead or weight of a petrol operated device. Will easily tackle small to moderate hedges or shrubs, but clearly small for bigger jobs. Excellent quality. Highly satisfied and recommended.

Great to have a hedge cutter without any wires to snag. I have had petrol ones but found them too heavy for continued use. This rechargable battery model is ideal, not heavy at all and after one charge was able to trim the tops of our extensive leylandii hedge without any issues.

Works great and this price is the best I’ve seen!
This is a quality hedge trimmer and for a small to medium size garden with not too many hedges it does the job well.
It allows me to trim all hedges comfortably without the battery running down and the blades are powerful enough to cut through thickish branches so I am delighted with my purchase. Finally the battery is the same as my Bosch strimmer so are interchangeable. I noticed when looking around for the best price that only ones that didn’t come with a battery were lower priced and look at the price of a stand alone battery so make sure it comes with it.

    So much better than expected
Bosch AHS 50-20 LI Cordless Hedge Cutter with 18 V Lithium-Ion Battery, Have been using it intermittently over the last 3 months for a total of about 3 hours on it’s first full charge. It’s lightweight, and so much more versatile than a corded cutter. I was sceptical about it having the power to cope with thicker branches but it is amazing, sometimes several attempts are required on the thickest stems but most are seen off like a hot knife through butter. Thoroughly recommended

Not too heavy and cuts very well
Replaces an older 10 yr old cordless Bosch which never failed (just borrowed by Son in Law). Plenty powerful for leylandii and similar grade hedging. OK with Holly and only struggles with older ‘core’ branches. Stopping due to branch thickness has been very rare for me in my lightly maintained, 0.75 acre domestic garden
Longer length than my previous device but lighter overall. Battery gave me 40 mins and still going strong when job had ended. Haven’t reached its limit yet unlike the 60 yr old bloke operating it.
Quiet operation, light enough to get a decent reach/stretch when needed and good battery life. Mustn’t ignore its cutting ability which has been great for me. Pleased with purchase and battery is interchangeable with other 18 v Bosch devices

    Not too heavy!
I’m 5ft 3in and am able to manage this. What I really like is the fact that the battery does not run down whilst not in use – my previous hedgetrimmer used to drive me mad when I went to use it and the battery was flat, even though I’d charged it before storage!

Bought as a replacement to my ten year old hedgecutter which needed a new battery. I decided to upgrade to the more powerful tool with the longer cutting length. Although this is a bit heavier it does the job faster and better. Spent an afternoon trimming all of my shrubs on one charge. Would recommend.

Used this for the first time today and it was excellent. I managed to get all the box hedging and a couple of other shrubs trimmed which took about an hour and the trimmer still had charge! Also the battery charges really quickly. I am a professional gardener and I can’t fault this product. Recommended.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis is the best hedge cutter I've ever bough
This is the best hedge cutter I’ve ever bought. The blades are sharp – it goes through the hedge so easily. And because it isn’t petrol-powered it is light, meaning I can get through my 30-40 metres of hedge in an hour or so – the battery runs down after about 40 minutes. The Power4All system is brilliant – I recommend having two packs, as they charge more quickly than you can use them up.

Note: don’t buy this without the lubricant. I didn’t get any and the blades have slightly rusted already.

Purchased to replace a mains Bosch hedge trimmer, which has become too heavy to use. Had some reservations about how long the battery would last, but could not be happier. I have about 100m of beech hedge all about 8m high. I can cut a section ( both sides and top) of approximately 35m, before needing to charge the battery; vimpressed. This is a light, easily manoeuvrable and capable hedge trimmer.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersLight and powerful trimmer that is a breeze to use. Highly recommended
The Bosch hedge trimmer is very light with good cutting ability and a powerful battery. It makes trimming the hedge a less onerous task. You may still need to get out the petrol trimmer sometimes or call the tree surgeon but this may make a significant part of the work easier. Highly recommended.
    Pros
    Well made.
    Light and easy to handle.
Good cutting action for braches less than around 0.5 inches.
Good battery that lasts 30 plus minutes.
Intelligent charging system gives speedy recharging.
Intelligent cutting system makes means that it doesn’t snag on branches like some cheaper wired and battery cutters.

    Cons
    None.

    Recommendations
Buy a second battery as this trimmer is so easy to use that it becomes a spontaneous thing to do until you find the batter is flat.
To cut thicker branches use the end of the cutter.

    Great hedge trimme
My son and brother have both cut through electric hedge trimmer cables in the past, so when I saw this battery powered model I went for it. I have 4x Bosh Power 4 All batteries anyway from two Bosh drills and they fit this trimmer so it makes it a no-brainer for me. It’s the usual high Bosch quality and if you don’t try to cut hedges that are too thick (keep the cuts below 20mm) then it works perfectly. Batteries last longer than I expected and are easy to change. I use it on a very large garden and get by with a single battery. 5 Stars.

    Bosch cordless hedge trimme
As a tradesman I use pro cordless tools all the time,. I’m a particular fan of Bosch, and this stood up well in my expectations. Purchased with a spare battery for a 60′ long x 5’high overgrown privet. Not as powerful as a 240v obviously, and struggled a little on the thicker stems but did 80% of the job on one battery. Good diy tool. I think I can kiss goodbye to the 240v whose cable I’ve cut through more times than I’d like to admit to.

Golden Review Award: 86 From Our UsersBloomin' Brilliant. Best cutter I've owned in 40 years
Brilliant. I’m an aging female and can handle it OK. Don’t be tempted to get a longer (heavier) one – this is just fine. There’s no such thing as a really light weight trimmer unless you go small. I’ve owned many hedge cutters over the years and this is amazingly better than any corded one. I can’t believe it. The battery lasts for ages and ages. It outlasts my staying power to keep on cutting. Very sharp. Apart from being cordless (what joy), the best thing is the first few extra wide teeth that enable you to chop through thick bits of privet hedge that need taking back a bit. Previously I had to stop and use secateurs/loppers.
Now I will keep on top of my vast expanse of privet hedge and cut it every couple of weeks whenever a few stray shoots pop up. That way you haven’t really got any mess to clear up. I still use a long handled cutter to do the top though. You don’t have to get up and down a step ladder so frequently with a long reach one. I’m not tall enough to do it without a step ladder.

I am delighted with this product. It is not too heavy for me – I have arthritic shoulders. It is intended to be used for a quick trim and it does that well. An important feature is that the three end teeth are stronger than the rest and will cut through thicker growths. The battery lasts surprisingly well.

Very happy with this. Plenty of power for what I need and still light and easy to manoeuvre (I’d class myself as your average strength bloke!)

In terms of thickness of branches it can easily cut through – I’d say anything the thickness of an average mans first finger.

In the space of 20 minutes I’d cut enough off my hedges and bushes to fill a brown wheelie bin.

Bought this as a replacement for an older unit that had finally died. Solidly built, good length for trimming hedges. Nicely balanced and not too heavy. Seems to give plenty of battery life for my needs (but I have a small garden). The 3-triggers on the handle offer nice flexibility to your ‘angle of attack’ and the ‘hammerhead’ helps getting up against walls. Only quibble is that the battery is (remarkably) easily mis-threaded onto the charger if you’re not paying attention! Arrived promptly although battery was loose in packaging.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersBosch AHS 50 20 cordless hedge trimme
I have had a Bosch mains electric hedge trimmer for many years but as i am colour blind i am prone to cutting through the cable as i have done on many occasions hence the reason for the purchase of this cordless machine. I must say i am most impressed by it. It is light and powerful and so much less hassle being cordless. Im not sure how long it will cut for on one charge but first impressions are very favourable.

First impressions are: Whoa, what a machine! It is very powerful, it is reasonably light, the battery can go for a long time and when registered the hardware with Bosh, they extended the warranty to three years.

It is very powerful, for that reason I can recommend that once you open the box with this hedge cutter, your first job should be to read the security guidance and follow their advice. For example protect your eyes, be steady when using it, work away from pets and bystanders, do not store the device plugged to the battery; keep it away as in locked away from children.

Golden Review Award: 19 From Our UsersExcellent Light and Easy to Use Hedge Trimme
Bought this Bosch AHS 50-20 hedge trimmer to replace my petrol one getting to heavy to use.
Have now used twice, and find it light and easy to use, specially with the three different on switches on the handle, so every easy to swap from left to right hand.
Battery life excellent, manage to do all my bushes (about twenty minutes) and still charge left, also quick to charge, I charge mine after each use, so ready at short notice.
Cutting ability, not a good as my petrol, but again this is a battery powered, and did do a good job, did cut out on a few of the thicker branches, but due to being light and easy to use, doing my bushes before getting to thick.
Would recommend to anyone looking for a light well-built hedge trimmer.
    First Class Delivery.
PS still trying to register online for extended warranty, don’t seem to get onto proper part of Bosch site.

Light weight and well balanced, great battery life
Love this as so easy and quick to use. Really lightweight (lady user) and battery lasts ages. No wires/fumes/noise. Have used to cut box, yew and mixed native hedge. cutting blades near the tip have more power and can cut thicker branches. I make sure i use the spray lubricant (separate purchase) on blades before i store it. Really pleased with my purchase wish i’d bought one ages ago. 3 year warranty, what’s not to like?

    Amazing power tool
Wasn’t sure what to expect, never owned a hedge cutter before. This made light work of a dense hedge that had clearly been around for some time. I was reluctant to spend the extra – its cordless and has a battery – but it was absolutely the right choice. Literally no hassle compared to, say, mowing a lawn with a cabled mower. Convenient, comfortable and easy. And as pointed out by other reviewers, a good price compared to the high street retailers. Possibly one of the best purchases i’ve made, and i’m sure its power and beauty drew the attention of the neighbours too as my hedge is in the front garden!

    Brilliant tool
Fabulous piece of kit. Tackles quite substantial hedges with ease (slow down and give it time for thick branches). Not too heavy – lightweight female can use it at arms length. & battery lasts ages. Used it on and off all day & not needed really charged.
    Very pleased with it.

Golden Review Award: 64 From Our UsersI wish I had bought one years ago!
I bought this to help to keep a length of Cornish hedge and a very narrow verge free of brambles, long grass, gone-over ferns and so on, because it seemed more versatile than a strimmer – and it is! So far, I have tidied the Cornish hedge, trimmed back overgrown euonymus, privet, gorse and escallonia bushes, and found it works a treat cutting back herbaceous perennials like Japanese anemones and catmint. It even cuts back bamboos, apart from old thick ones. I wish I had bought one years ago!
The battery charges very quickly, and although the instructions say that it will last for 45 minutes trimming, you have to remember that that is for continuous use – switched on all the time. Used as I use it, an hour’s work (involving stopping to pick things up, or using loppers to cut the thicker bits) hardly seems to make any impression on the battery at all.
The instructions also say that it will cut up to 20 mm thickness. I have found that over-optimistic, and it depends on the hardness of what you are cutting. Trying to cut even quite thin blackthorn twigs will make it stop, whereas it will cut through a greater thickness of softer fuchsia or euonymus.
This is an even more useful bit of gear than I had expected.

Arrived promptly. Bought to replace older version where the battery needed replacing every two years. Am hoping it won’t be the same with this. I am quite small and weigh less than 44kg but I find this very easy to use. I trimmed my who,e hedge and the battery didn’t need recharging so I assume it has good operational capacity. Also, charged fairly fast. Would recommend.

Should have bought one of these years ago. Hedges that would normally take most of the day to cut done in just over an hour and looking good to boot. This hedge cutter is light to use (I am nearly 70) and cut through all but a few bigger branches easily.A larger gap between the blades at the end of the cutter fixed these.

I really can not find anything wrong with this hedge trimmer. This is my first cordless hedge trimmer and I am very impressed with the overall performance. I have only charged the battery up once and I have cut the hedges twice.

Cuts twiggy and grassy stuff well, potential to ‘cross thread’ the battery, Been cutting rushes near a ditch where the tractor couldn’t go. Bosch lubricant not available in local shops!!! Using 1.49 Rapide Garden and Agri Machinery Spray and 3 in 1 oil. Got 2×30 metre Hawthorn hedges to do, I expect I’ll flake out before it does, I’ll probably get a man in for them. Bought for trimming flowering shrubs as they finish.

Excellent delivery service and excellent product. Day 1 of using: has made short work of a 12m long x 3m high holly hedge resulting in a very neat job. Shapes bushes really well. Charge has lasted well over 50 minutes and no sign of tiring. Nice light and well balanced (the hedge cutter not the owner 🙂 ) The anti-snag Syneon chip works a treat. Battery recharges quckly to full. Really pleased with the purchase. Recommended.

Excellent, wish I’d thrown my old mains powered unit away years ago. Trims all my hedges front and back on one full charge of the 18V 2.5Ah battery. The thicker 20mm branch cutting section at the end of the blade is a real bonus and works well. Saves you swapping to secateurs. Very pleased thank you Amazon and Bosch.

A wonderful hedge cutter, and so light to use. I find I use it much more frequently than when I used a mains-powered electric cutter. Now I can occupy a few spare minutes with a quick trim – no need to go to all the bother of getting extension cables out, and no danger of cutting the cord. And it is quiet – no need for ear protectors, unlike petrol hedge cutters. I have not yet managed to flatten the battery, even after an hour’s usage. It is powerful – with care it will happily chew its way through thick branches.

Golden Review Award: 21 From Our Usersworks very well for lighter stuff
It’s great, the battery lasts a really long time, really convenient not having a cable. It’s lighter than I expected and I don’t have any trouble using it for a long time but some people might find it a bit heavy.
Successfully trimmed several years growth of the neighbours massive conifer.
It doesn’t easily cut branches more than about 1cm diameter – however you can get through thicker stuff if you back off and have several goes and don’t push too hard. The auto reverse & retry action works quite well – it sort of gives you a warning that it’s going to stick and gives you a chance to back off. Also the blades near the tip work better for tough stuff.
Great that I can use the existing batteries and charger I already had for my drill. I’m thinking of getting the strimmer and jigsaw to match now.

Golden Review Award: 171 From Our UsersSo far so good
I have only used the cutter 3 times so far, but I am very pleased with it. I can only use it for about 20 minutes at a time because it is a reasonable weight, but compared to other similar machines I think it is relatively lightweight. I am just a weak woman! I was fed up waiting for people to turn up to do my hedges and decided I would try and cope with them myself by doing a bit at a time. I did some research and this machine got the best reviews. You need to buy some goggles and proper spray to put on the blade.

My only criticism is that it did not come with any paperwork, so now I have got to hunt round to see how to register it with Bosch so I get the 3 year warranty. If this had been provided I would have given it 5 stars.

Two years on and I am a bit disappointed that the battery does not last more than 30 minutes and it does not cut the hedge like it used to as it keeps stopping if the branch is any reasonable size. I have had it sharpened but it did not seem to make much difference. I am now trying to buy a second battery that does not cost as much as the whole cutter!
