A good and aesthetically pleasing product eith dome good features. In my case though, the temperature control possibilities are not really necessary as I just want to boil water or not. Still a quality product though and others may find these refinements desirable. In any case, it looks good and promises to be of quality and value.

Easy to use, looks great on worktop and is not noisy. Downside, for some reason, I don’t think it performs as well as others in a hard water area but it just means the filter needs to be cleaned more regularly. I would recommend.

This is the best kettle we’ve ever had, and given my age we went through a few ! It looks very stylish and good quality built, easy to fill due to the pop up lid, easy to see water level due to the wide gauge. Boils quickly and beeps when it’s ready. The handle has a nice feel to it and easy to pour. Not used keep warm function yet. Overall very pleased, would but again.

I brought this kettle in 2014 from Amazon.
I didn’t even realise that I had it that long.
Had no problem with it so far, although the matching toaster didn’t last long.
Boils quick, a little noisy, but I guess I’ve gotten use to it now.
Water temperature is good, keep warm feature is so necessary in my house, because I’m always so busy, and sometimes get distracted.
All in all I have been happy with this kettle, and no leaks.
I descale it with a descaler that is phosphate free and biodegradable. (Kilrock)
I would definitely recommend this particular style from Bosch.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersThe last time we bought one of these kettles was in 2018 when we bought a black one for my elderly mother.
We’d already owned a white one for years at that point and we’d bought our son one of them as well a year or so before the 2018 one for my mum(I can’t remember which colour) all three kettles are still going strong.

We like them because they don’t have to be filled much – you can use it for just one cup. When they only have one cup full in them they are not heavy so they are great for people who have trouble lifting heavy kettles. They are nice and stable and they pour safely.

I love the variable water temperature – it saves tons of energy over time because I like my teas and coffees made with 70C water and I can get exactly the amount I need at exactly the temperature I want it and no wasted energy on boiling and then waiting for it to cool.

If you look after it and wipe it down regularly and don’t bash it about, it will (like ours does) stay looking good and working well.
As you can see ours has a tiny hairline crack in the base where my husband was a bit rough with it (he has trouble gripping sometimes) and the on/off button has started to fade from the many years of use and the 70C button (my tea and coffee favourite temp) has lost some of its silver. But it still works well and is the best kettle we’ve ever owned.

I happened upon this listing when Facebook showed me an advert for this kettle and I was curious to see how much they are going for nowadays. This kettle is more expensive than I ever spent before on a kettle but ours has lasted at least three times as long as any kettle we’ve owned before and I love it.

We've had ours so long I can't remember how long but years and years.

Extremely pleased with this kettle. Love the styling, it takes up less room on the counter than any kettle I’ve previously owned. It’s easy to remove and place on the stand. The lid springs open a little sharply but its not a problem. Quick to heat up and not too noisy. Useful beep to remind you it’s finished heating.

Our original kettle was half the price of this kettle and was very noisy while reaching its boiling point. So, I was hoping that, among other things, this kettle would be much quieter. However, I was quite disappointed in that respect, as it is almost as loud as my previous kettle.
Having said that this kettle has so much better quality, and has a great selectable feature that will keep the boiled water hot, for up to half an hour – ready for your second cup?
Apart from the unexpected ‘loudness’ issue, while boiling, the only other ‘fault’ we’ve experienced is that after 3 days regular useage the refill lid wouldn’t open when pressing the button. This seems to be resolved by pressing gently with your thumb near the hinge as you press the large opening button.
Overall, we’re very happy with our purchase.

I bought this as a house presnt for a couple I’ve been staying with. Their old electric kettle was giving up the ghost, so I decided to ind somehing similar to one I’ve owned for years. They absolutely love it, and it works brilliantly. They spend a lot of time in their kitchen, and it’s proved a godsend. Very high quality and a really good price for what you get. You certainly won’t do bettr, and it’s such a great modern design.

This is a good looking, easy to use kettle. Love the variable temperature feature which is very easy to set as is the “Keep warm” function. Only possible downside is that it is quite noisy but personally I think that is a small price to pay for a good quality kettle

Looks the part on the kitchen worktop, it boils very quickly and has a nice audible noise once it has boiled in case you walk away and forget. Keep warm feature is handy though has to be pressed before switching the kettle which is a bit disappointing as you always need to know ahead of time that you are going to want to keep the water warm. Only other downside is that its difficult to see the water amount whilst filling but overall its a great kettle.

Very stylish. Nice wide lid. Switches off quickly and the alarm is useful while not being intrusive.
Only 4 stars because we had to return the first one – the lid kept sticking, couldn’t be prised open and difficult to fill through the narrow spout. Amazon replaced immediately and arranged collection of the old one. Glad we stayed with this kettle as the replacement has been trouble free.

Looks good and is big enough for quite a few people. It is a little heavy when full and does seem to make a lot of noise when boiling. The water boils well to the temperature you want.

I drink a lot of tea and I mean a lot! I also tend to get busy and forget about the kettle once boiled, but this removed having to reboil it as it would just maintain the temps I want!
It’s perfect for Matcha at 70C, green teas at 80C and black (normal) tea at 100C. I love it and when it eventually dies I’ll be buying another, or what ever the latest model at the time is.

Superb kettle. Fast boiling and looks great in our kitchen. Take no notice of the negative reviews. Had ours for a few months now and still works like a charm. It states NOT to get the base of kettle wet…clearly people have been getting the base wet and its led to eventual corrosion and leaks. Well done bosch!

Excellent kettle highly recommended. One of the best ok the market.

Absolutely love this kettle best one I’ve had to date. Some might think it’s a bit much to spend on a kettle but it has been worth every penny. It’s quick boil, energy efficient as far as I can see, low noise even a little beep to let u know it’s boiled. Seems larger than my previous buys but that just gives me more reason to drink more. It’s sleek and elegant looking good finish to any kitche

My previous kettle was a Bosch but it began to leak about 12 months after I purchased. I continued using the kettle for some time but eventually decided it wasn’t really very safe to have a leaking kettle. I was going to order the same model again as I really loved it, it had a large water capacity and it fitted my kitchen decor perfectly. However when I read the reviews on Amazon it was apparent that the leak must be a design fault and many, many people had experienced leaking from this kettle. So I ordered the Bosch Model TWK89633GB instead. This kettle looks similar to my previous model but has a smaller water capacity. However, the main feature is IT DOESN’T LEAK.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersAs one would have tried so many kettles in their lifetime, but this kettle is simply different class altogether. Great buy. What I love about it is 1/3 full would boil in less than a minute. Its very well made, hence the price is not cheap but worth every penny. Another great feature is the temperature control as some hot drinks don’t need to be prepared very hot such as black tea, so you are able to control the temperature which costs less to boil, and will add up by end of the year, also keep hot feature also means that you don’t need to boil again in case it takes too long to get dressed and water in the kettle remains hot, and this also means saving on electricity and money. Wholeheartedly recommended

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThis has been our daily kitchen kettle for about 6 years now until just failing yesterday. For a kettle that’s used multiple times a day, every day, and which has some slightly more advanced circuitry than the average (for the temperature detection and setting) that’s not a bad lifespan. Not perfect, but certainly acceptable given the price. It’s quick to boil (being a 3kW device), the ability to set a target temperature is surprisingly useful (e.g. hot water bottle for the kids which probably doesn’t want to be 100 degrees, or for heating a cafetire of coffee just right). The one *really* annoying feature (which unfortunately seems to be a really annoying feature of so many products these days): it beeps. Really loudly. When you set it to boil, and when it finishes boiling.

I’ve been sorely tempted to take it apart and de-solder the damned beeper but now it’s failed I’m definitely going to take the thing apart and see if 1) it’s an easy fix and 2) if so, where that damned beeper is! If it’s well and truly broken … well, I’d seriously consider ordering another one anyway and just voiding the warranty to ditch that beeper given the lifespan seems pretty good anyway.

This was bought as a direct replacement for an identical model bought 6 years ago. The current one packed up as it was used extensively all day every day so as you can see it is quite a sturdy kettle and well worth the money

This kettle is a Leopard tank of kettles. Solid built, no-nonsense design and practicality over thrills in every inch of its “Made-in-China” German body. The ear-piercing alarm sound that a lot of buyers complain here is actually kind of cute, but I totally see myself switching it off at some point.

We had one previously to go with other Bosch appliances but with controls on the base. As we live in a very hard limescale area and despite using a water filter had to descale the kettle often. Decided that I could just as well descale a cheaper kettle and tried out two other makes in between. I found I was descaling even more. Gone back to this one and just love it so quiet and worth the extra plus this was not a bramnd new one but you cannot tell at all. Seller recommended.

I bought this kettle 10/01/2012 and unfortunately it died after 8 years and 5 months. I immediately replaced with the exact same model, as it is the best kettle we have had. The element and electrics were still good, but one of the spring contacts in the base failed with repeated use. Usually in the past other makes have leaked or the element have gone, often within a year. I can highly recommend this kettle.

It has taken me at least three weeks to decide which make I would finally purchase. The reviews on several makes were very helpful. We are a large family, and the kettle is so important when we need a quick cup of coffee or tea, and very useful when cooking and need boiling water at the flip of a switch. Quick boiling, wonderful feature keeps water warm for up to 30 min., not noisy and at capacity of 1.7 ltrs. fantastic for my needs.. This kettle has met all my expectations. I am so pleased with this product . Delivery was very quick next day actually. Just a tad heavy but feels durable. Not necessarily recommending if someone has a problem with lifting a kettle, but it is still manageable. Am very happy to have chosen this kettle.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersGot tired looking for off-brand temperature control kettles only to have to return them because of the poor quality.
So I went ahead and put the extra money for the very reputable Bosch brand.

While I’m not the biggest fan of the design and the big logo on the front, I’m very happy with the quality. Its actually quite huge, feels very sturdy and of very good quality. Basic useful temperature presets (really don’t need more – or less- than those 4) and the optional keep warm button. Even the cap, that tends to be really cheap and dodgy on other kettles, feels very reliable. The plastic handle -you’d it would be too weak to carry a kettle filled with water – is very nice, sturdy and ergonomic.

It’s also pretty quiet I find, when boiling.
I like that the whole kettle is off, even when putting the kettle back on the base, and that you have to manually turn it on by pressing the button. No waste of electricity

Overall, so very happy that I just gave up on looking for sth 20 cheaper and went with this

I bought this as I’d made a mistake with a Russell Hobbs Luna, which turned out to be really noisy despite their claims that it was up to 75% quieter.
This Bosch is a total joy – yes, it beeps to let you know you’ve turned it on and it beeps to let you know it’s done its job!!! I don’t mind that. This is a good looking appliance. I like the adjustable temperature, it might encourage me to try herbal teas.

I have to say, this kettle is still the best I’ve used by far! I especially love the fact that the kettle itself is cordless, plus you can set it to boil at different temperatures (very useful if you’re a tea person and have many different types of loose leaf tea). It works great and is really good value for money.

Don’t normally get excited by a kettle but this Bosch is excellent!
I cannot comment on durability, only had it two days, but the build quality, the quietness of the actual water heating operation and the clean water flavour are all excellent.
The variable temperatures has already changed my wife’s view of coffee and the facility to keep water at the correct temperature has already proved useful.
All in all, a great kettle at a reasonable cost.

Reviewing the kettle almost 3.5 years since purchasing there have been zero faults. The lid still opens easily and it still boils somewhat accurately quickly. I say somewhat as I would describe it from day one, ie this isn’t a scientific instrument!

Built like a tank, the majority problems I’ve read people are having / asking are 100% user errors.

We regularly descale it as we live in a hard water area and we use filtered water in it. The only way I can see this being replaced before it breaks through age is when we upgrade to an instant hot/cold water system or a more accurate kettle for coffee.

  31. Anonymous says:

     United Kingdom

Our second one as last one broke a bimetalic contact but was about 5 years old and Bosch will only supply a new base at twice the cost of a complete replacement. Beeper is quieter which we like. It’s quick to boil but we like the temperature options as some coffee drinks sachets require water not boiling so we set to 90 deg. Easy to clean with gauze filter in pouring spout. We use filtered water so scale is not an issue with this model.

  32. Mario Fraioli says:

    It’s a nice kettle .

stylish finish that looks good in the kitchen with other stainless steel and black parts.

Temperature control works as expected and is very useful.

Not too noisy, beeping to confirm heating has finished is not obtrusive.

So far so good- hopefully will last a good few years!

This has just replaced one of the same units, which has given many years of good service and now has a slight leek if filled to capacity. Every thing in our kitchen is Bosch, just replacing the Washing machine, Dish Washer and Clothes Drier after twenty years of excellent service. The units prior to these also gave the same type of service for 18 years, but had to be replaced due to a river flooding our home.

  34. CathyNeace says:

     United Kingdom

We had a previous version of this kettle that eventually developed a small leak, but that was after many years of sterling service. The color scheme and style complement several other items in our kitchen. The outside stays cool to the touch. If you want to you can adjust the temperature in 10 degree slots below boiling, not a feature I have personally used, but maybe useful for certain types of tea infusions. The other unique feature is that it beeps when it has boiled. Some may find this irritating, but if you wander off doing other tasks it is a useful reminder that your freshly boiled water is ready to use.

It is certainly not the cheapest kettle on the market, and the outside style will be one of personal preference for each user. The relatively tall design with a smaller footprint means if you are only wanting one or two cups, you can add just the right amount of water you require, so saving energy and water. It is a well thought out design that works well, and it is a pleasure to use several times a day. I looked at other options on the market when I need a replacement, but decided to stick with this contemporary classic that looks great, performs well, and is from a brand you can trus

I use the 70 degree control every morning to make a hot lemon drink so less energy used than boiling to 100 degrees and mixing with cold water. Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersGood sturdy kettle with added advantage of variable temperature settings & keep warm functionality. This unit was purchased to replace an identical item that had been in use for ~10 years and which started to leak through pitting of the plastic level sighting widow caused by collapsing steam bubbles/cavitation on the inside surface over a long period. It’s also important to descale regularly to prevent erratic automatic swithing off, i.e. before reaching set temperature.

My first purchase of this kettle was nearly 85 which was a few years ago now it did its job was fast boiling after around a year it started playing up everytime you pressed button to start it was pot luck if it came on given it had quite a lot of use I was a bit shocked Given the price I purchased a cheaper one but when this dropped in price My son purchased another as it has a good handle grip and is good for suffers of arthritis it is a great modern looking kettle very contemporary. However looks can be deceiving Please be aware that if you fill it to max it spits hot water everywhere soaking your entire worktop and scalded my hand so please be aware especially if you have small children I couldnt leave it to boil and walk away I had to stay which is ridiculous went back to old kettle now

The kettle is quite quick and not overly noisy but it cools down very quickly and the limescale filter really isn’t very good. (Admittedly, I live in London, but I did specifically do as much research as I could to try to avoid this.) I now filter all water before putting it in the kettle and occasionally use a strainer in addition. I’m also not convinced that the temperatures reached are as high as the kettle states. I can usually drink the tea immediately when it’s meant to have been at 100 degrees, whereas anywhere else I have to wait a good few minutes for it to cool down a little! The kettle is quite heavy but not as bad as a SMEG. It looks stylish enough and for the price it’s not bad.

Liked everything once I worked out how to get the top to open every time when the big button is pressed. The secret is to press it at the back, near the handle, although others seem to press it anywhere and get the lid to open, at least some of the time.
Otherwise, it boils water for tea or 80 degrees for coffee.

Great kettle, boils quickly, looks fabulous.

I have to agree with other reviews that state that opening the lid is not always straight-forward. Shame that Bosch has made such a lovely item and then failed to adequately test the lid before going to market.

This kettle is ideal for those who have weak hands or the shakes. It is completely insulated allowing it to be supported and the sides held immediately after boiling. Excellent choice of temperatures, ideal for certain teas, coffees etc that don’t require boiling water. I already had this kettle and bought this one for my parents. They love it! This newer version is improved, the button on top is larger and is much easier to open. The controls are on the base, rather than the kettle itself, easier for failing eyes too.

Love this kettle! It isn’t any more noisy than othe kettles and the beep isn’t like a fire alarm going off, which reading other reviews I was a bit unsure about.. it’s just 2 beeps that you could only hear in the same room. The water gauge is a bit dark but it’s just as easy to open the lid and look in. Really pleased, looks nice and works a charm. Only real downside is the cord isn’t massively long, much shorter than other kettles so had to rearrange worktops a bit.

I was replacing the kettle almost every 3 years once and recently purchased the BOSCH after doing a bit of research on the internet. I hope this serves me better as the cost is twice that of the other ones.

Speedy next day delivery without any extra charges! Looks elegant. Wider top lid opening helps to fill water easily from the tap without splashing all over. Good-sized water level indicator window allows me to fill the water to the required level, without having to use my glasses! I hope to save some energy as I am not heating too much of water and thanks to the 4 level temperature setting I need not boil water to the boiling temperature. (saves some time too..) The only disappointment is that it is as noisy as the other ones. My 3 year timer starts for this kettle now…

  48. JaneenApodaca says:

Liked the style and look, the boiling of water is quick but this is our second one of these, we thought with first that we had purchased a Friday job! Main fault with this kettle is the lid keeps sticking, which means you have to place the kettle down to press lid button and lift lid from the spout! Not really convenient especially when it’s relatively warm. So basically we needn’t have bought the second kettle as the first was working perfectly fine apart from the lid and the second is just the same!!!

Husband chose this kettle as he does not like “boring” looking ones! We have had 2 glass Russell Hobbs kettles in the past but eventually the lid handle becomes loose and the screw rusts. After reading reviews about this one we bought it and are not disappointed. The beeping when you switch it on and when it boils is not too loud as some people mentioned, and we quite like the fact that we are alerted when it’s boiled. Very fast boiling and not too noisy. Quieter than our last kettles.

Golden Review Award: 59 From Our UsersThis kettle is a new purchase as I write this however I had this kettle before and the previous one lasted for many years. Two years ago I finally had to replace it and I thought I would try something different – I wish I hadn’t as it lasted less than two years! This one is very simple to use, it has a very rapid boil. You can set the temperature at 70/80/90 or 100 or just take it off when it reaches the temperature as the numbers light up as it reaches the temperature. I often do coffee at 90. The handle is soft grip rubber on the inside. it has a easy push button to open the lid. If you take the kettle off before it reaches 100 when you replace it – it does not continue boiling again which is a bonus. Look well made – pours easily and I hopefully this one will last as long as the last one.

Why waste energy [aka money ] if you drink instant coffee or green tea? Love it, big lid swings back for easy access for filling. wide window to see the amount you are taking into it. Only had it a few weeks so can’t say about the durability yet , but it seems sturdy enough. Ditto for cleaning, its not kept by the stove so its not got too dirty yet. So far haven’t used the keep warm function. Not particularly cheap but I’m hoping it will last. Have had other Bosch products in the past and found them sound.

Its an excellent kettle with everything you need in a good kettle. Given 4 stars only because the push button on top to release the lid gets stuck. Returned the first kettle because of this issue. The replacement was quick but lid has started getting stuck again. Learned the trick from other buyers to release it by grabbing the handle and tilting the kettle forward. If you can put up with this little anomaly, you will not regret buying it.

Golden Review Award: 19 From Our UsersJust bought this kettle for the second time. Love the design and the functions of this Bosch kettle. The first kettle was about 6 years old and unfortunately we live in an extremely hard water area, so there has been a big build up of scale inside the kettle over the past couple of years, even after cleaning some amount of scale still remains. As has been mentioned by others, there is a leak at the base (it’s probably been there for about 2 years now) and it’s got to the stage where the leak has begun to cause problems for my beech worktop, so I have decided its time for out with the old and in with the new. Kettle arrives tomorrow.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersMy family and I like the kettle a lot. Yes, it is noisy but it heats the water quickly and it is easy to use. It shows the water temperature, which turned out to be quite useful when we need water for tea (we let it cool off until the temperature drops to 80C). We have been using it daily for over 2 years now but just around the second year we noticed that it leaks at the base. I thought of buying another one but not reading other people’s experiences, I realise that the leak is common to this and the comparable Bosch model.Such a shame! I will look for another brand though I enjoyed using this one.

Golden Review Award: 24 From Our UsersLet me say that these are the best kettles i have owned. Love the kettle. Excellent design and quick, quiet boil…
Caveat: This is the third Bosch cordless kettle i have had, the previous two (different model) have developed a leak after about a year…Bosch just don’t respond in anyway to complaints about this obvious problem. If you read other reviews you will see that i am not the only one to have this problem. I used to love all Bosch products and recommended spending a little more for them to anyone who would listen. However, after the shocking customer service (for which there is no excuse) I will not recommend again. I have only given them this last chance because Amazon refunded the price of the previous failed kettle (Excellent Amazon service!)
As i said at the beginning, this is the best kettle i have owned, but if this one leaks i will be looking for a different brand and Bosch will no longer feature in my house.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis s a great kettle. It look pretty smart, boils quickly and has water temperature control. The only complaint I have, and it looks like a common problem with this kettle, is the lid. When trying to open the lid to fill with water, the button can be a bit temperamental and it will take a few attempts before the lid will flip open. The lid feels a bit wobbly too, but at the moment it still works, for how long I’m not sure. I bought it about a year ago.

So far so good. Crazy quick after using a stove top for ages [interesting to see if my electricity bill has changed]. Looks good, boils water keeps it hot. No leaks yet as others have described, Have to check again in a few months.

    Nove 04 2017 – Update
Just moved into my own place and left the kettle for my amazing roommates and was eager to but this kettle again. However it has now increased in price by 20 after a year! 50 was a luxury for a kettle but I’m not sure it is worth 70.00. Think I’ll try the AEG this time.

Bought this in march. After reading the review’s I was a little apprehensive because of some of the negative comments. First of all the water collecting in the base, this has never happened with mine, but it does say in the instructions that this is possible due to condensation and that it is okay. The problem with the lid does exist but only if you are overly forceful when pressing the button, but it is still easy to open. I have been married for over 30 year’s and in that time I have bought many kettles and this one is by far the best one I have had. It is fast and relatively quiet and the beep when it has reached temperature is very useful, as indeed are the different set temperatures as different tea’s and coffee really are better if made at the correct temperature. Safe to say I love this kettle and would definitely recommend it to my family and friend’s.

My original 1-star review is below, but I am pleased to confirm that in spite of me having gone past the 30 day return window offered by the Amazon seller, I contacted Bosch Customer Services and they were brilliant. They took details of the problem, sent me a link to download a free returns postage label. Within approx. 1 week of shipping it back, we had a brand new replacement delivered. Excellent service. The product itself looks great and does the job, as you’d expect from Bosch.
    Original 1-star review follows…..
The kettle is leaking at the base. I am trying to return for a replacement but I am 2 weeks past the “cut off” for this. Not impressed if nobody can help me with this. Other than that it looks good. Just a shame it doesn’t keep all the water inside, as opposed to leaking it all over the worktop. 🙁

I’ve had this kettle for 4 years! 4 years!
    It never leaked.
The lid always shut for 3 years, up until the last year. Saying that it still shut on the second attempt.
It makes a loud beep (hence 4 stars) far too loud I’m my opinion at start and at end of boiling. But we all knew when someone was putting a brew on so we could put our orders in.
For the past few months the on switch has been playing up. Turning off when not boiled or not even starting to boil.
It’s been a cracker, solid and dependable for 3 years straight. Boiling water pretty quick if not a bit noisy. Well a lot quicker than my moms Delonghi kettle
I love my fresh coffee and being able to boil water at 70 degrees its great for that.

So the intermittent button finally sent it to the great WEEE in the sky.
I looked at all the variable temp kettles and their reviews to see if I could find “the one”. I did….
A brand new Bosch TWK8633 the very same.

    Tried it tonight
46 seconds to boil a mug of water 250 ml
3 minutes 32 seconds to boil 1.5l of water no overflowing or spitting either.
The beep noise is quieter but still annoying. Good solid build. Base stops where it is when you pick up and place down the kettle.

    Recommend it.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI loved this kettle as the keep warm function and range of temps you can heat too are great features but it jaunt looks too big and it of place for us. Check the sizes for your kitchen first of if works then it’s a fantastic kettle. Size looks like it’s at least a 2 litre kettle not 1.5 litre. The old one we replaced was 1.5 litres but over 1/3 smaller (excluding the bigger base the Bosch has). Same as other than that loved this kettle.

I am so pleased with this kettle. You can boil the water and it will keep it at temperature for 30 minutes. Also, it is great for making coffee as it shows what temperature the water has reached, coffee doesn’t need boiling water so 90 degrees suits me fine. It is quick to boil and beeps when ready so you can hear it if you are in another room. (Not a loud beep but at a pitch that is audible). It is sleek looking and very easy to fill through the spout but can be filled in the conventional way through the top too. The base doesn’t take up too much room and the cable is stored in it.

This is the fastest kettle I have ever owned, and holds a good family sized quantity. Easy to use and keep clean. Some other reviewers have disliked the beep that signals starting or finishing the boil, and yes it can grate on the ears, but without it I can see that you would often be wrong footed in thinking the kettle was not working or was still heating up – it is that fast – but a simple buzzer on/off function would be welcome. The fill viewing panel is in the most awkward position – under the handle – but I don’t care as this is simply the best kettle I have ever had.

This is brilliant! We love it! Very nicely designed and easy to use. The only downside is that the measure to show you how full it is is at the side under the handle… It does beep a lot, but I think we are getting used to that, what with the microwave beeping, and the oven beeping and the washing machine beeping….! We need to get to 95 degrees for our coffee brewing, so we go to 90 degrees and then select ‘keep warm”. This seems to work really well.

We love this kettle. we bought it about 6 months ago and (as coffee snobs) have enjoyed the security of knowing we’re always pouring the right temperature water over our freshly ground beans. I know it’s tragic, but not sure what else you’d want the temperature control for. The beep is fine, I’ve looked at some other reviews and not sure what the fuss over the beep is all about. If you care about the temperature of the water to within 10 degrees, it’s surely good to have it beep when it gets there!

Never used the “keep warm” function (we don’t drink that much coffee). Also, it’s a good looking kettle, easy to fill and nice to pour. Go on, treat yourself.

I have had this kettle since March 2013 it is stylish and therefore looks good on the worktop, never had issues with the lid as others have mentioned and the beep is barable, however after owning this product for just over 2 years it is on its way out in that it won’t stay on and takes a lot of messing around trying to get it to work, I expected more from Bosch and expected it to last much longer so now on the search for a new kettle, would I buy this particular model again?…….probably not.

THE best kettle I have ever owned.

Aside from the fact that it looks smart, this kettle is the very best I have ever used. Why?

    Comfy handle, easy grip
Easy open lid, just tap the central button and it flips open
    Keep warm facility
Choice of temperatures if you prefer water hot but not boiling.
Good capacity, when full more then I need.
Easy on and off the stand
    Easy to fill
Beeps to tell you it has finished
    Easy to clean

    Downsides?
Tends to catapult the water out of the spout but once you get used to the ‘delivery line’ it works just fine and you get used to it quickly.
BEEPS when you turn it on. LOUDLY. BEEPS when it turns off, also LOUDLY. Not fun at 3am, but other times brilliant and lets you know when they kettle has finished boiling.

Other than the noise and having to get used to it, this kettle is perfect!

I found this kettle really excellent. I saw the reviews on here before I purchased it and decided to go for it anyway, and I can’t for the life of my see how people can have issues with this kettle! Yes, it beeps when the water is boiled, but I find that helpful; if like me you are the sort of person that tends to wander off after you’ve put the kettle on, it’s actually good to have the beep remind you of what you’re supposed to be doing! The lid is no problem at all, it actually only needs a very gentle touch to open or close it, so I suspect people are actually being a little rough with it, and that is the source of their problem. I like the variable temperature option, the kettle boils very quickly and I’ve had no problems with it all.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersBuying a kettle has to be one of the most boring ways to spend your money. I bought this kettle 18months ago as it was a Which Best Buy and have been delighted with it to this day.

    The 5 best features are:

Speed of boiling – one of the fastest on the market.
It beeps when it boils. Sounds basic but few kettles have this feature and it is incredible useful.
    It looks fantastic.
It’s incredible easy to de-scale. The inside of my kettle looks as good as new.
It has 4 settings: 100degrees, 90 80 and 70. This is perfect for when you need hot water but don’t want boiling.

Highly recommended kettle that does everything you need of a kettle very well.

I’ve recently got interested in different types of tea (black, green, white, oolong) and the infusion temperature is quite important. Before I had to boil the water and let it cool, but now I can just select the correct temperature. It is very fast and fairly quiet (apart from the ‘ready’ beep – which isn’t at all as loud as some reviewers may lead you to believe.

I’ve only found one problem – the insulation is just too good. If my friend makes a cup of coffee (at 90 or 100C) and I go to make a cup of oolong re-infusion (80C) then the water in the kettle will be too hot.

We are delighted with this kettle. It is a super design. It looks very smart in our kitchen. It is very fast to boil the water to the required temperature. The boiling process is much quieter than our previous kettle. The little bleep that the kettle gives when the water has reached the required temperature is not annoying as far as we are concerned but a great help in knowing when the kettle has done its job! We really like the various temperatures that the kettle can heat water too. All in all an excellent buy – well done Bosch!

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersThis is a good looking kettle that looks modern in the corner of a kitchen.
It boils quickly and has the great benefit of allowing the temperature at which it turns of to be set at 70, 80,90 or 100 degrees C. ( for tea, coffee oritheruses). It also has a beep which sounds when the kettle turns off. This is surprisingly useful as a reminder.
The kettle stays cool to the touch even after it has boiled and it is also quite stable given the base which is larger than the kettle. This should make it safer with small children around.
    Downsides-
    1. After 12 months the kettle has started to make a whistling sound when boiling and the lid has started to occasionally spring open while being boiled. This may just be due to lime scale buildup.
    2. The kettle only boils 1.5 litre’s where previous kettles have boiled 1.8 lire’s – this means the kettle sometimes needs to be boiled twice
Overall this is a very good kettle

Really nice kettle but couple of design features that need changing on the next remodel…..the beep is quite loud – we read mixed reviews on it but I do find it loud…..also you can keep it warm which is brilliant but it should allow you make your cup of tea first then keep it warm for your next one….instead you would have to re-boil it to then keep it warm so not so great…but overall really nice kettle and would buy again….the newer version has the buttons on the lid but I prefer this version as no chance of getting water in them when you fill the kettle….nice machine

I baulked a bit at the price of this kettle and decided to go and look at one in a store first. Having done that, we were happy with the quality and the reviews on Amazon so went ahead and purchased it. We are really pleased with it – 1) Quiet – compared to any other kettle we have had before. 2) Speedy – positively F1 performance 3) Variable temperature – fantastic, perfect for hot-water bottles, instant packet drinks that can’t be used with boling water and makes a perfect cup of tea. 4) Interior isn’t furring up in the way all our other kettles have.

    Great kettle:

    – outside stays cool enough … it does get almost hot after a while, but it’s definitely better than single-walled kettles
    – large enough opening to make filling easy
    – temperature control (70C/80C/90C/100C) works a treat, simpler than finer-grained degree-by-degree control and plenty good enough for re-heating water without boiling it, making water not-quite-boiling for tea/coffee, etc.
    – stay-warm does what it says

Others have mentioned issues with gathering water in the base, that appears to be addressed in our model with drainage holes. There are a couple niggles, as others have mentioned:

    – it is a large kettle, thanks to it’s insulated wall — really not that big of a deal (for us)
    – the lid doesn’t always open when pressing the button — a lighter touch seems to do the trick here
    – the beeping sound *is* rather loud and *was* a big issue when boiling water while our son is asleep — this was dealt with by opening the base up and snipping the wire for the speaker … a bit drastic, maybe, but it did the job

I researched kettles extensively before buying this one. We had a bad experience with a very expensive stainless steel kettle which leaked. This is a really ultra fast boiling kettle and has a neat feature that lets you dial up a different temperature (hot water bottles!) and it keeps the kettle at a specific temperature if you require it. Very sturdy base. Only slightly annoying thing is that it has quite a sharp beep to let you know it has started boiling and beeps to tell you it has finished – kind of wish you could turn it off – but at least my wife knows that I am making tea!

  78. Anonymous says:

The kettle will boil a mug of water very quickly saving money compared with a standard kettle that typically needs to heat more water every time. The water sight gauge is easy to use plus you can also pre-select very hot as opposed to boiling water for making coffee or whatever.
The unit beeps when you press the buttons and beeps when it boils, but we’ve got used to the noises and it is probably a good feature: it would be nice if you could switch the beeps off, but you can’t.
    Great kettle, worth the cost.

  79. LashawnTarver says:

I love the design, the fact that the outside of the kettle doesn’t get hot, the ability to warm water to different temperatures and that it can be cleaned easily. It’s a very easy kettle to use, sturdy and easy to handle especially when filling a hotwater bottle – there is no spillage or water dribbling down the kettle.
The lid does sometimes stick when pressing the button to open it but that could be a safety measure not opening whilst the kettle is hot. However this is easily over come by pushing the lid at the spout area gently and then pressing the opening button. So overall a great kettle definitely worth the money. Best kettle I’ve ever bought.

There is nothing cheap or plasticky about this sturdy kettle. It appears well made and solid and boils a large quantity of water speedily (and noisily – but then show me a kettle that doesn’t like to shout about the job it is doing. It is only letting off steam after all). It is quite masculine looking, not for those who like elegant or girlie kitchen accessories. Its square base takes up a chunk of space on the work surface, so it is suited to larger kitchens. The only downside is a very loud beep when it is switched on and then again when it reaches boiling point. This would be enough to wake your other half if you lived in a small apartment. However, I do like the quality feel of the kettle and suspect it is made well enough to last a very long time.

A very good appliance with everything needed in a kettle. The tone at beginning and end of the cycle is not too loud and the kettle is light but tough & easy to handle. We thought that the filling gauge window was in the wrong position originally but when it came we found it easy to use. The kettle boils really quickly & cuts off immediately it boils & the different temperatures are much more handy than we thought they would be. The cut off when it reaches 90c is immediate, is hot enough for coffee & we now use it regularly to save time & energy.
Have heard complaints about the lid sticking & water spurting out when pouring after boiling, Not happened yet with us. I just hope that it lasts longer than the ECO kettle it replaced (less than 12 months.)

Unlike other reviews I have read about this kettle suffering with a sticking lid, my household have not experienced this problem which might be due to handling the lid in a gentle and respectful fashion. The way it’s designed only needs a light touch to engage the catch when closing and the same goes for when opening the lid by means of the large centre button. The revolutionary design of the controls located in the base prevents the need to put your hands in the vicinity of the steam to change the temperature of the water when switched on. The audible beep when switched on and when it switches itself off is a very useful item, which allows the user to do other things whilst the water reaches the desired setting, instead of watching it boil or returning to the kettle and having to switch it back on again. Another very good point is the ability to set the water temperature to the desired heat 70, 80, 90, 100 degrees for whatever it is you are making plus there is also a keep warm button. I therefore, give this kettle the highest rating possible and would without any doubts whatsoever thoroughly recommend its purchase.

Typically Bosch, this kettle is well made and works perfectly. Other reviewers have commented on the loudness of the on/off beep. I have not found the sound to be too loud and it is a very useful function, as is the ability to select the temperature of the water and to keep the water at or near the desired temperature.
The lid is easy to open and the kettle pours well. The small drain holes in the base are explained in the instruction manual as well as the need to regularly de-scale the kettle, (Bosch recommend white vinegar), to keep the heat sensor functioning.
So, it’s a reasonably expensive kettle that works well.

…the audible alarm which sounds when the on button is depressed and again when the kettle has boiled!!!

It looks good, has a generous 1.5 litre capacity and a useful cup indicator on the jug.
The wide spout allows for speedy, accurate pouring and the pop-up lid is just a dream (the kettle it replaced had a very stiff metal lid which required a hefty whack to get it back into place).

After several week of constant use the jug itself has kept free of annoying water marks and the brushed steel is free from finger marks as there is really not need to touch this part of the kettle.

All in all, a very good buy.

Our old kettle gave up the ghost so I took the opportunity to buy a more energy efficient model.

I opted for this Bosch model because it gets generally good reviews.

After 6 weeks of usage I have to say I’m delighted with the kettle.
    * It heats water quickly.
    * As a coffee drinker, I find the 90C setting gives a great cup of coffee.
    * You can heat up quite small amounts of water for single cups
    * I live in a hard water area but, because I’m only boiling occasionally, the amount of scaling seems to be vastly reduced compared to our old kettle.
    * It gets the WAF (wife approval factor) because it looks good.

The only negative is the beep it makes when you start heating and when temperature is reached. I’m ok with it but it annoys my missus.

I only read the good reviews on this kettle before I bought it because it is Bosch, and most of my appliances and white goods are Bosch, I buy them because they are quality they give a 2 year warranty, and if you have a problem they are very efficient in putting it right, the kettle is as described the beep people have commented on is just a single beep, it boils quickly the water temp is a good feature, not that I have used it I like boiling water, the water gauge is at the back of the kettle which is a minus but anywhere else the kettle would loose the sleek look, it is an excellent buy

For some time now I have been lusting after a De Longhi kettle but there just seems to be more negative reviews than positive. It seems everyone buys it for the looks and then not happy so decided to look elsewhere and quite by chance came across this Bosch. It is absolutely gorgeous and I am so pleased I bought it. No contest! My only criticism would be that it didn’t come with full operating instructions and advice i.e. when you would use 70 and 80 degrees setting but I suppose that is for you to decide. All I can say is no wonder it got Which’s approval. Will now buy the toaster.

This kettle has exceeded my expectations – it is a great product.

Not only does it look the business – white is superior to black, in my opinion – but it gets the water up to temperature very quickly. I am impressed by how little water it can take, and by its three temperature settings. This kettle will pay for itself in no time: when I am making myself a single cup of green tea, say, this kettle has got the water up to 70C *before* I can get the tea bag into the pot and the sugar in the cup:-) Condensation does form on the bottom of the kettle, so do not be fooled into thinking there is a leak.

Some people have commented on the “beeeep” emitted when switching on, and repeated when the water is up to the set temperature. This can be irritating to children and bats, but rest assured, as you get older you just don’t hear those high notes anywhere near as well:-) Think of it as a hearing test.

Have to say I have had numerous kettles in recent years that were all bells and whistles i.e lights up blue and red etc. only problem was they did not seem to last so thought I would buck the trend and spend more on a quality item. That is exactly what you get when you purchase a Bosch kettle. The base of the kettle is substantial and have not had any of the leakage into the base that other reviews have cited but then I never fill it right to the top. The kettle itself is good looking and boils quickly. Have to say it boils the water hotter than my previous kettle(don’t know how but drinks remain hotter for longer). I like the warning when it’s boiled this is really useful but the most useful is the keep warm facility. This is excellent when I have a house full for dinner you can boil whilst eating dinner and the kettle remains warm until the drinks are required afterwards. All in all I am extremely happy with my purchase. Thank you Bosch and Amazon for prompt delivery.

We have owned this kettle for nearly 18 months now and continue to get comments from visitors each time we use it.

Really stylish, typical Bosch appearance and of a good standard throughout.

The ability to choose a temperature was the main draw to the purchase as it allows me to have my coffee at 80C, increasing the output to 90c, or 100c for the wife’s tea. clearly this is saving energy in terms of heating the water and allowing me to drink my coffee at my preferred temperature sooner. lowest option is 70c

keep-warm function provided for 30 min but I have not found and useful need for this.

base is very well designed for 360 degree access. functional open and close lid. nice wide, rubberised handle. cool to touch. easy to wipe clean.

event after 18 months of daily use the kettle still appears brand new other than some slight marking on the spout. i would recommend regular de-scale treatments depending on your water area.

naturally there is cheaper options out there but for function and style little else compares.

Our previous kettle was a very noisy Russell Hobbs, so we decided to treat ourselves to a new kettle. We absolutely love the Styline. It certainly is much quieter than the RH. The facility to heat the water to four different temperatures is a wonderful facility. Also, the “keep warm” facility is very helpful. The gauge to show how much water to heat up, saves using up unnecessary electricity to heat up more water than you actually need. I would certainly recommend this product to anybody.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI needed a replacement kettle – my brother has one of these and when he showed me how it worked I was impressed. The ability to set the water temperature (70 degrees up to 100 degrees 10 degree intervals) for different uses saves a bit of energy as I don’t always need boiling water. Lower temps are perfectly adequate for hot drinks (like Lemsips and instant coffee) and hot water bottles. Delivery was swift and the kettle is performing well. The only minor criticism might be that the beep when you switch it on is a bit loud but it is a benefit when the water has reached temperature as I have a habit of walking away from the kettle while its heating the water and the beep calls me back!

I bought this after reading the great reviews it had received. It arrived very quickly – I ordered it on a Monday evening and it came on Wednesday morning! It looks great and works very well, boiling water very quickly. The loud beeps at start and finish are a bit disconcerting at first and I don’t know why I need a beep when I put it on. The beep at the end is very handy though if you are out of the room. There is a small issue with the water gauge as the handle obscures it slightly but if you hold it at the right angle its not a problem. I am using the different temperatures, 90 for coffee and 80 for my hot water bottle – perfect. It looks like a solid piece of kit but only time will tell as most kettles don’t pass the longevity test.

I have no complaints at all about this superb kettle. The ability to heat water to just 90 degrees is a real boon for making excellent real coffee, and the water boils so fast that the keep warm function comes in handy while getting cafetiere etc ready. This function is also useful when hot water is needed for cooking. (For the retro-minded, being able to heat water to temperatures below boiling, plus its easy-pour lip, makes filling hot water bottles a breeze). The design is sleek and understated, and the square base is neater than I anticipated. I have experienced none of the problems described in a few other reviews – the lid opens wide and easily and there has been no water condensation in the base. I hope this kettle lasts a good few years, but I love it so much I’d willingly buy a new one every year if necessary!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is a typical Bosch product, well designed, excellent facilities and it works. It is by far the best kettle that we have ever had. The ‘Cool Touch’ feature is not only a good safety feature but it does have the hidden benefit of insulating the contents and thereby keeping the water hot for much longer than a ‘Standard” kettle. If that was not enough the ” Keep Warm” feature actually works and the temperature selection facility is great for tea drinkers. The kettle truly has a ‘Non-drip’ spout’ it also has a very safe and secure base. The soft touch handle is very good for those with a weak grip and the positioning of the water gauge make this a truly ‘either hand’ kettle. No wonder that it is a ‘Which Magazine” ‘Best Buy’ scoring the highest score ever for a kettle. It’s not the cheapest out there but it is the best.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBought this item after suffering a couple of failures with a leaking Russell Hobbs “Teekanne” model – yep they were cheap, but after two failures in three years, we decided to pay a bit extra and go for a quality kettle. We read the reviews on Amazon – some were fairly negative, and mindful of the rather mean 30-day warranty on offer by Amazon, we decided to rely on our gut instinct & purchase this model. Some people have had difficulty in opening the lid – easy peasy on the one we’ve got, just press the middle of the domed lid- & given that the lid opens wide enough for my wife to clean inside the kettle which was important to her as we live in a hard water area – three temperature settings & a facility to maintain the chosen temperature, although we’ve never found the need to do that, but it may be useful with some of the speciality teas my wife drinks? – simply plug it in, fill it with sufficient water – it’ll boils water very quickly & reasonably quietly – pouring while boiling isn’t an issue although some other purchasers have mentioned that it can spurt out, we’ve never noticed it although we tend to let it stand for at least 30 seconds. Delivery was quick and troublefree so it couldn’t have been subbed out to YODEL…..? All in all a stylish kettle which does “exactly what it says on the tin” – Highly recommended.

Nice piece of kit and works well as it should for the money, so on the whole, so far so good. The power element is of a sufficiently robust design over the previous kettle we had an M.R. Intelliboil.IMHO this, the Intelliboil kettle had more functionality than the Bosch but the power terminal on the pad failed after about one year on the second one,a warranty replacement, which went down for exactly the same reason after a similar lifespan, but they refused a replacement for the second failure …that is bad!
If this could be remedied, a simple design mod’ after all, then the Intelliboil would be far better, and cheaper, but typical of a British firm, a good design but probably jobbed out to the far east for manufacture and cannot be a–s-d to sort it.
So the moral of this is that the Germans stand on quality and you pay more but they have built their reputation on it,… vorsprung durch youknow what so poor old Uk Ltd fails again, were it ever thus sadly.

We bought this Bosch kettle and the matching Bosch toaster which were suggested by amazon.uk at a discounted price. We found it very helpful that amazon.uk informed us about this possibility. Both, the toaster and the kettle arrived very quick and within a day of each other. The Bosch kettle, like its toaster, is not only nice to look at, but also very functional. We love being able to select the temperature and being alerted when it is reached. However, as with the toaster, we were again disappointed that the data plate revealed that this kettle was made in China.

Not only was I impressed with the speed of delivery and price of this kettle compared to other online and in-store deals. This Kettle is something that I have only ever dreamed about in the past!…I need to get out more!….I looked at most reviews for most kettles…before deciding on this purchase and it out shone all of them for 5 star reviews. Its exceptionally quiet and boils a lot faster than the kettle its replacing which sounded like a freight train going through the kitchen when it reached boiling point. Everything about this product is superb and I cannot fault it…Checkout the You Tube Video for this product. You won’t be disappointed….Its worth every penny!

Golden Review Award: 51 From Our UsersAlthough on the expensive side (this is why it got 4 stars instead of 5) this kettle is excellent. I love the fact it has different temperature settings and although you think you will never use them believe me you do – when making a coffee why waste electricity boiling to 100 degrees when you do not need to!!!! The keep warm system is also practicle and I’m the first to say I thought I would never use this function. It is very quick to boil, and gives out a high pitch tone when it has done so – how many times have you put the kettle on and forgot about it only to then have to reboil the water again. It looks sleek and stylish in todays modern kitchens and is lightweight compared to other kettles. I would certainly recommend it.
