This is the quickest and easiest way I have ever seen to make a cup of tea, 33 seconds after placing the cup on the stand press the button job done.
I am slowly attempting a return to “normal” life 3 years after a Brain Tumour operation and have found it very hard to use a kettle and pour hot water safely. The Occupational Therapist recommended a dispenser and so I purchased one. It has proved brilliant and I can now pour a hot cuppa safely and not have to keep relying on others. Really pleased….some may say minor but to me massive.
Got this for my elderly Mother who was struggling to lift her kettle. The main water reservoir base is quite heavy, so I still have to fill it every so often for her. Otherwise, very useful for my Mother and she is pleased with it.
I got this for my dad who is very frail and has dementia. It is extremely easy to use and he has had no problems adapting to it. The only niggle I have with it is the release catch for the lid which makes filling it up a bit of a faff (but it’s really not that hard). Highly recommend for the elderly and infirm who shouldn’t be messing about with kettles and scalding themselves, this is a great alternative.
Got to wash it out alot to get rid of plastic taste, few cups to figure out what cup setting, and it’s great, more than 2 cups or filling tea pot use a kettle.
Already bought elsewhere at higher cost and it does save on energy costs. Bought again at cheaper prize from Amazon as a gift for family friend who lives on her own so she doesn’t keep having to boil her kettle every time she wants to make a cuppa. She loves it.
I had the smaller one, and found it ideal. So when I had to replace it, I used an ordinary kettle for a few weeks and hated it. Loved the Breville one cup so much that I decided to get the larger one as we drink a lot of tea and it meant less refilling. I also liked the fact that with this model you are able to adjust the amount of water dispensed, depending on the size of the cup…genius really!
Very convenient as removes measuring/figuring out how much water to add, and incredibly fast. You can get a cuppa in about 20seconds. Useful if getting your own cuppa. If have guests, then the good old kettle would be better as otherwise you’d be pressing the button for each cup! Also slight annoyance you have to take the entire dispenser out to refill with water.you’d think they’d design it with a removable water tank like coffee machines.
I’ve been using this one-cup kettle all the time since I purchased it, and I like how the amount of water it dispenses is adjustable for different cup sizes. Very easy to use single button operation, and you can stop the dispenser with a single push of the button if you’ve accidentally set it to dispense more water for the size of cup.
I would have perhaps liked a larger water container, but then it would probably be too heavy to handle when it’s full for some owners.
Well it definitely does what it says on the tin. Whilst it coughs and splutters when boiling, it does so at an impressively fast rate. Just 60 seconds to bring to boil. It is well made and feels very durable. It also ensures no over spilling of liquid which is perfect for vision impaired use. It also removes the need to lift over the top of a cup or mug to pour. In that respect it meets the need it was purchased for.
The downsides? – Well the biggest issue is the amount of water dispensed. Even on the maximum setting it doesn’t fill our mugs (which aren’t particularly large) and there is no easy way to simply add a little more boiling water to the drink. The kettle also seems to require a lot of refilling. I realise that any kettle will empty at the same rate, but somehow I seem to be forever refilling this one. And that leads me to my last point. The opening for refilling isn’t exactly large and is of an awkward shape. The device is also quite heavy. This may not be an issue for most people, but I purchased this to help my wife who is struggling with her eyesight at the moment. Whilst it allows her to safely pour herself a drink without me being around, once it empties she cannot refill it on her own.
Overall then, a mixed opinion. On reflection I’d say I was happy with the purchase but with the above reservations.
Nice looking machine. Could do with high dosage of water, as we have big mugs it does not fill them so have to boil twice to get what we want.
Bought this for my elderly mum who has poor strength in her arms and handsso much easier and safer for her to use. Only two very small down falls, but which my mum has adapted to.the button to release the lid is a the back and is a little stiff and secondly when rising pasta or needing more the a cup of hot water you have to press the start again but as I have said these are no biggies. I would definitely recommend this product so quick and easy
I’ve had one of these for 4 years, used continually, so got this for my sons birthday. Quiet, quick and only boils what you need depending on cup size. Saves on electricity and water, so a great all round product.
i use a jug to fill it.
I have problems using my hands due to arthritis. This is great as it noly needs filling once a day with the lsrge water capacity.
Only downside it does splatter abit of hot water when dispensing hot water into the cup mainly on the right side
I bought this in addition to a standard one I had, I wanted one where you can adjust the amount of water. It is excellent and I am very pleased with this product.
Good and convenient. The base the cup stands on is a bit loose and easily comes off. Had a similar model before and that’s why I bought a second one after many years of the first one finally breaking down.
I bought this after finding the lower spec one unsuitable. That one only produced water for a large mug and there was no stop function to stop it overflowing the cup. I have to say that the smallest cup setting on this is still too large for my mother but we are using larger cups for it. She really likes a china tea cup but we’ve gone for a larger cup. This one does have a stop function for smaller amounts of water but I’d prefer that she doesn’t use it because the boiler does splutter a bit and I’d rather the stood back from it. Over all it’s a nice bit of kit tho. It looks good if that matters to you!
This is my second kettle my first lasted me 8 years and totally loved it so re purchased the exact same one would I recommend definitely you will not be disappointed.
Good sized tank, easy to fill. It’s a little trial and error working out which position to set the knob to for the right amount of water you’re looking for (tip: start with the lower setting and work upwards).
Once you’ve worked out the perfect amount, it’s great to be able to place your cup/bowl/jug, press the button and crack on with whatever else you’re doing knowing it will pour itself when it’s ready. It’s also very quick at heating the water.
Perfect for a busy bee
I love this replacement for my kettle. I live alone so only make one cup at a time but it boils so quickly that several cups would not be a problem. It holds enough for four or five mugs before needing refilled. I do this in situ with a glass despite the safety suggestions saying not to. I m very pleased I bought this.
Previously had a smaller version of this water heater and had to refil it couple times a day and it didn’t have a cup size choice . This one is perfect for me , holds more water ( 2L) and has a handy stop flow button and with the choice of cup sizes it’s great for me. And got it on offer that made it even better. Would recommend this water heater if you looking to buy one.
So easy to use when hands don’t work so well. June 2016 I purchased this kettle as a similar price as it is today. After a couple of years the lid got cranky, after 4 years the lights got dodgy and today it decided to repeat boil unless manually turned off. Even though still working, the manual stop is ok, but I can get distracted. I’m so glad I purchased my second one in 2021 and now using it with great happiness, while I come here to give my experience of its reliability, longevity and amazing value for money. And to purchase number 3 to keep in a safe place until it’s needed. 2030 at a guess
I had previously purchased the standard version which worked for 5 years. That wasn’t bad but I always found it didn’t boil much water at a time & so my standard beaker plus a drop of milk was never a full cup. so I decided to go for the more expensive variable water dispenser hoping for more of a full cup. I have tor say, I am quite disappointed.
The dial on ‘large’ cup just about fills a beaker which is good. The dial on ‘small’ cup gives you about half a beaker full, so not a lot of use. So I still need to press it twice to fill my tea pot for two up! Just as I did with the less expensive basic version. The difference is hardly anything so the only advantage of this more expensive kettle is that the ‘tank’ is larger. But the carers have to fill that as it’s too heavy for me to do. I suppose the moral is: I should’ve just put up with buying the same kettle as before. I’ll see how long this one lasts.
Enjoying the simple press of a button and volume select dial, perfect for working from home without spending a fortune on boiling too much water, and the boiling water really is boiling.
Before buying this I bought one for several times the price from German company Caso, it had lovely touchscreen display, select temperature, volume in ml looked great, just didn’t really work. From the start we had to keep a cup under it when not in use as it spat out hot water after it had “finished”. Plus the 100C setting was never really near boiling and you needed to turn off the child safety every time by holding down a button (no option to disable that). Managed to stick with it for nearly 2 years but glad its gone, at times we do like 50C water to drink, but I’m fine with just adding some cold afterwards.
I really like this. Very easy to use. Except for the button to open lid to fill is at the back and can be a bit awkward. Economical. Love that you fill it up but only boil amount required so less trips to the tap if you only want a cuppa. Making more than one drink at a time is not a chore like I thought it might be, by the time you’ve stirred/removed teabag/added milk to the first, the second one is ready to do the same!
Kept the kettle incase I needed a larger amount of water, but haven’t had to use it yet, just do 2 lots with this on max setting, it’s just as quick.
Bit noisy but not for long, the “slurp” sound at the end of the pouring still makes me jump sometimes . Keep your hands away while it’s pouring as it does splash towards the end of the cycle. Which means you get water marks on the shiny stainless steel behind the cup. (Small rant here….why do they make kitchen things with this? It marks so easily!).
I like the adjustable cup size function as my wife likes baby tea!
Love it don’t have t lift t make t with me having bad hands quick boiler highly recommended
Very pleased, easy to use, I take a jug to it to fill it ,it’s safer to use than a kettle
