The Burg Wachter Double Loop Security Cable is suitable for a multitude of security applications including – home, garden, leisure, commerce etc. It is manufactured from braided steel for increased strength and flexibility. The double loop design enables the user to maximise the length of the cable by clinching (pushing one loop through the other). The swages are extra-large for added strength. It also benefits from a weather resistant vinyl coating which protects against scratching.

Sometimes a bit fiddly to thread, but the spring keeps it compact and looks pretty strong.

Use to lock Garden Furniture
I have used this to lock rattan furniture to a Pergola and so far it is working fine. As for durability, only time will tell.

This product does not disappoint. Having had a motorcycle stolen I am now very security conscious. I use this in conjunction with other security devices to link bikes together whilst touring. Strong, self coiling and protected from the elements.

A hefty piece of ki
I’m sure a determined thief would cut through this with Bolt-cutters, but it wouldn’t be easy and it will definitely put off any opportunist thief.
I plan to use it to secure my bikes on my bike-rack using the tow-loop that’s fixed to the car.

Used to secure front bike wheel
I used this mainly to secure my front quick-release wheels to my main bike lock to prevent thieves from running off with one of my wheels! It works great and is very compact. I’ve also put it through a lot of weight to see if it retains its recoil shape and it does. The only issue I can think of is the coiled shape can actually make it a little tricky to fit through your wheel spokes. If you need to run it through tight gaps or holes regularly and don’t have patience, you should get the straight type.

Excellent product. Needed to secure a large wood sculpture to a tree, does the job perfectly. Gone are the days when you didn’t need to think about such things, but that’s the way some people are. It’s discreet, so doesn’t make the sculpture look poor as a chain would. Overall, very pleased with this security device.

Really gets to places you need and I bought two one for the front wheel and frame and another for my quick release seat and the back wheel…
Strong but coiled too tight for ease of use
Strong, durable and secure, but arrives so tightly coiled that it is very difficult to uncoil and put through bike wheels / frames. The plastic coating does protect your paintwork well.
Solid security cable.
A solid cable for use with good quality padlock for locking bike up. Quite heavy for carrying around.
Thick, durable, weatherproof
It’s a thick braided steel cable covered in plastic. Not easy to get through I would have thought. I am using it to secure 2 bikes to the wall and its more than long enough.

Such a secure addition to any D-lock combo. These are extremely thick and scream security so will deter thieves very well. I would strongly recommend these with your D lock to secure around the front wheels… you could even get two of these for the look and benefit of extra security.

Very strong and versatile
I got these to anchor stuff than for security. They are incredibly strong, although I don’t know how much force they’re take before they broke. The vinyl coating makes them easy to handle and protects what you are securing. However, the fact that they return to a coiled state can make them a little awkward to handle, especially if you don’t have both hands free.

It is long enough to lock two bikes through a stand.

Good price strong.
Only problem is only you can use for bike or gates or Tow for car I am using for dogs but it’s keep twisting even dogs pull soon is relax it’s come on same place otherwise good but not good for dogs.
If its strong you want you wont go wrong.

Used in all weathers to secure boat to mooring (ensuring both end loops are kept out of water, locked together in boat foredeck well under cover) separate mooring line takes the weight/load – cable for added security/anti theft)

Very handy and easy to use- I used it to replace a metal chain which was around our 3 bikes, but it kept leaving scratches so I got this and it’s much better! I cannot comment on whether someone could cut through it or not, but we still have our bikes!
I under estimated the size of this, it’s realy big I got this to go around both of my e-bike wheels, and they do with room to lock up more.

Good heavy cable well made fairly thick reassuring addition to my U-lock – maybe a bit heavy for carrying around on your bike… But cables can be cut so a good heavy duty cable is a must.! Best used in addition to your primary security and or with a ground anchor.

Not self coiling but that might be a good thing
Bought one of these to secure the ladders in my back garden. I was worried that the self coiling would make it hard to use but in practice it does not self coil at all. This might be a issue for some but for me it is a bonus. Very bendy with a smooth surface and ideal for snaking through various things that should not be moved. Probably too thin to stop the determined thief with major boltcutters but that applies to anything short of a solid U bolt.

i use this in conjunction with a On-Guard Pitbull LS-8002 Keyed Shackle Lock, I thread it through my saddle and front wheel. I am sure a determined theif would have no trouble cutting it but will stop the opertunist from running off with my saddle/wheel.
Great Security Cable
Just purchased my second one! Nice security cable, using to secure my BBQ to ground with appropriate attachment, working out very nicely so I have ordered second for my patio chairs and tables. Worth the money and recommend if needing a security cable, the eyes at both ends are a bonus and fit nicely through each other.

Got this to secure items in the back of my van. It’s flexible, the loops feed through each other, they feed through anchor points in a vehicle and large enough to loop over a tow bar.
I bought this to replace the cable that came with my Kryptonite Kryptlok U-Lock, which I managed to lose on the way home one day (my silly mistake.)

Security Lead
A nice long lead which I use to secure 3 items together. Nicely made, long hoops at each end for a padlock. I would definitely recommend this as a security lead.

Perfect to secure a scooter!
I bought this lock for a Vespa as I have had trouble with finding a lock which will fit through the wheel due to the break disks. It is a great lock/cable for being able to lock the scooter to a pole etc as it is just long enough to do this accompanied with a good padlock. I like that the cable has the yellow elements as this alone acts as a deterrent against thieves.
The cable itself feels very durable and has only showed slight signs of wear as the yellow rubber has moved a couple of times but this is easily put back in place. I would definitely purchase this again as it is the only lock I have found that is suitable for my needs as well as being durable enough to ensure safety for my scooter.

springy bikey-security thingy!
Thick and chunky, very springy in terms of wanting to coil itself up, but easy enough to loop it round my bike’s front wheel, “through itself”, then back to meet my Kryptonite D-lock which takes care of the frame and back wheel.
The coiling makes it very convenient to carry – I wrap it round the top tube, then hook the front end of the cable around the head tube and it stays decently in place while I ride without rattling or getting in the way.

Order two of these steel cables arrived when they said they would. – They appear to be heavy weight and I guess the test will be if anyone tries to cut or force them. Hopefully that will not be the case…….

Good replacement for what originally came with my Magnum lock, please be aware this on its own is not sufficient to protect a bike, it is simply a way to deter thieves from taking your front wheel.
In conjunction with a Sold Secure lock, I would recommend wrapping this around your front wheel and frame, then around something which is solidly in the ground, put one of the loops through the opening on the other loop and pull it to your sold secure lock, then put your Sold Secure lock through that loop to secure your front wheel to your frame.
This will not stop the best of thieves, but will put off any opportunists.

This bike cable is great for securing your bike! Although the looped cable is good for storage it can be a little difficult to wind it round the bike. Other than that it’s great!

Still going strong a year late
Have been using this for over a year now and haven’t had any bikes nicked yet. I use it with a Kryptonite New York 3000 lock and though they’re both a little on the heavy side, I still have my bike.

Great product. Brought this to lock accessories to my bike in conjunction with a D-Lock. Seems like a really strong cable, much thicker and sturdier than most locks I have seen. I would even be happy just to lock my bike with this cable for a short amount of time but, I wouldn’t recommend it for longer lengths as all cable locks are much easier to break than D-Locks and chains! All in all, a great lock cable, arrived quickly. Couldn’t ask for more! 5 Stars.
Well made but not as sturdy as it looks
Bought this for about 10. I use it to extend the reach of my d lock for my new motorbike. I have to say it seems well made and for the price is great though it is not quite as chunky and secure as I had thought from the pictures. The length is just right though to allow for securing my bike to street furniture where possible. I would recommend it for the price.
This cable is great. It is very thick and the plastic coating has withstood use as a bike cable. It is plenty long enough for most uses including through both bike wheels and the frame. It can be a bit awkward when trying to pull it out straight but the fact that it coils itself means that it is easy to transport. It doesn’t have a lock with it but you can be sure that the cable wont be the weak part of any assembly. When someone tried to cut the cable they only managed to cut through the outer coating and not the cable.
