I never usually leave reviews, and never imagined leaving one for a tumble dryer, but this thing really is awesome! I usually stick to big named brands, but the last one I had from Hotpoint was complete garbage. The Hotpoint dryer always beeped, overheated, and was generally rubbish at drying and frustrating to use. This thing however is AMAZING! It uses a heat pump, so it’s extremely efficient. It’s also very quiet, easy to use and very well designed. I looked at all of it’s clever settings, but now I just pretty much shove everything in on it’s mixed colour setting which takes 2hrs on a full load and seems to work well for everything. So far it’s been safe and effective with everything I’ve thrown in there, even delicate silks and fluffy blankets! For really heavy items like towels etc, occasionally i’ll run it for another 10-15 if needed, but most of the time 2hrs is perfect for a full load. If you’re daunted or confused by all of its clever settings, you needn’t be. You don’t need to use all of it’s whizzy modes. It actually tumbles differently for different fabrics if this is important to you, but you can ignore the settings on the dial and just go by the times for each which is way simpler (they increase in time as you rotate). I love how it collects the water in a container in the door, a small detail, but really quirky! It collects in a detachable water container in the window of the door and lifts out with ease. So clever, and so easy. If you can’t tell already, I really do love it! Don’t hesitate, just buy it. Oh, and it looks nice too!

5.0 out of 5 stars Best tumble dryer in the world... ever! A+++++++

It works well. Costs me 31p an hour to use but not very quick. Still going through the different programmes to see which is the best. Only problem is it leaks steam from the top of the door, I had a replacement as I thought it was a fault and that did the same so it is a design fault. It is quieter than my last one but still have to raise your voice if talking in the same room

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersIf like me you’ve had Vented and Condenser dryers then you’ll know there are differences between dryers but this Candy Heat pump dryer is completely different.

Scrub from your mind any previous dryer knowledge and pretend this is your first and you’ll get on with it much better!

The dryer itself looks like any new washer/dryer it has manual settings but with the Hon app it transform into a digital powerhouse.

    HON App for wifi control…

The hon app is a bit fussy but if you follow the instructions it works perfectly and is a game changer, with about 40 useful programs from baby clothes to sports wear settings.

Make sure you have your wifi set to the 2.4ghz channel, 5ghz will not work and if your router (like ours) overrides the 2.4ghz channel, this is where you need a bit of broadband router knowledge.
You only need to do this for set up and then your router can go back to 2.4/5ghz settings and it connects fine.

The dryer uses Bluetooth to pair to your phone/tablet and can only be paired to one device at a time, if you need to swap it out to a different device you need to start the pairing process again.

    The Dryer and it’s functions…

The dryer has a generous 9kg drum so is great for transferring straight from washer to the dryer without the need to split loads.

Drying bed linen, towels and heavier items is so much easier, but a bit of advice, put the washer on a second spin to get rid of as much water as possible from your washing before transferring, this will help the dryer massively.

The programs times are long but you can tweak them in the app to suit your needs. A typical load for us takes about 2 hours to be bone dry, however, a small underwear and light clothes load can be done on the daily 59 min setting.

Contrary to other comments I’ve seen, the dryer does indeed adjust times according to load weight and will shorten a program when it senses the load is dry.

It does do quirky things like sit on 1 min forever at the end of a cycle but I’ve found you can switch the dryer off and it won’t do any harm, it will still pump the water into the door.
(I have a Samsung washer that lies to me about washing times too, so this isn’t anything to worry about unless it doesn’t pump the water or shows an error code.)

So far my washing loads have all dried well, no shrinking, no damage and barely any creases.

Despite the long dry times it is still better economically than an old vented dryer and you use less radiator space (thus less gch) because you can get more in.

The door being used as the water collector is genius, you can see when you need to get rid of the excess.
It’s easy to empty, just remember the water can be hot so empty away from yourself, or wait until cooled and use to water your plants!

The filter is a double filter, so one large filter trap and then another that it sits inside of. Keep on top of keeping these clean and the dryer will work perfectly. I get the vaccum in the filter gap once a month just to ensure there’s no loose fluff.

Noise wise, it is a little noisy at the beginning and end of the cycle, I think it’s the pump, but during the cycle it’s as noisy as any other dryer I’ve had.

One thing to note is this dryer (any heat pump dryer) requires an ambient temperature of about 10c to work, it relies on the external temperature so will not work well in a garage/outhouse/utility that doesn’t have a mild indoor temperature.

I’ll update my review in a few months time to give further info if things change, but for now I’m very happy with my dryer.

Once you get your head round it, it's great!

The dryer works really well. I won’t be returning it or anything.
But, the WiFi controls through the candy app are awful. I can’t seem to get the dryer to connect to my phone.
Candy probably need to have a chat to go-pro about WiFi connectability.

Dryers very well, no stem, no extra humidity in the room, not noise, work magically. No more condescending dryer!

Eco friendly, I have this on 4-5hrs a day and it is amazing on electric. Still getting used to which cycle to use but amazing machine so glad I took the plunge

This machine is brilliant and so easy to use and the best bit is the tank on the door!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersOnly had this for over a week and already used it several times. It is easy to use especially if used with the the app that provides more programmes. Relatively quiet comparing to some dryers. So far I just can’t faulter this fancy looking machine.
