Read all the reviews about the face being difficult to see and the light not being strong enough but all these are piffle, it’s a great watch but when it comes to the ALARM. Maybe if you have it gaffer taped to your ear you MAYBE able to hear it. Come on Casio i’ve heard louder calculators. If you’re wondering whether to buy this watch or not stop wondering and buy it you wont be disappointed. i love mine.
Good watch, got it for a good price too. Looks nice, but the light doesn’t illuminate the hands or digital display enough to read it, I have rated it 4 stars but only for looks and ruggedness, I have other g shocks and edifaces, just wish they would sort out the illumination!
The blue and black together make it difficult to tell the time, ended up swapping for the red. But very attractive watch and quick delivery.
You get a digital reading of the time for those who might struggle with the red hand in times of darkness. I’m a fireman and wear G shocks 24/7. Fire and floods. Simply brilliant and never let me down. This model looks great as well.
Fantastic watch, I broke my last two (expensive watches) I’ve had this one 6 months and it’s survided and what’s more still in great condition considering the rigours I seem to put watches through, not only is this hard wearing but is aethestically pleasing
Really nice bit of kit. I’ll admit I only really need it for telling the time but appreciate the fact that it will withstand life/work/DIY and continue to do that for about 100 years.
I love the Casio G Shock range and already owned the White, Yellow, and red ones before this, I must say that the black is the smartest and is suitable for all occasions, would recommend.
Good and sturdy and bought at the right price. Light on it is a bit weak but other than that it’s a good watch. It’s stood up to some rough and tumble play with my six year old who has trampled on it and dropped it down the stairs!!!
If you have small wrists think carefully though as the face is large but for me that’s what I like about it.

A very sturdy and reliable watch (although I have only had it a day so this may change), it was easier to set it up than I originally thought it would be and seems to be working well so far.
Only slight issue I have had with it is the light; people have said in other reviews that this is a problem. You are able to read the time with the light but you have to squint.
But overall a good, rugged watch.

Really good looking watch, arrived set up but on trying to familiarise myself with functions messed it up, and it took me a while to get it right again, but once I did I was more than satisfied with my purchase, if it works as good as it looks it’s great value for money. My other watches are a Panerai and an Omega Seamaster, the G shock doesn’t look out of place in my collection.
Again, another rigid product that does the job. That’s what you want, isn’t it?! 🙂 accurate and excellent for outdoors! Displayed time can be read easily, whether you use the analog or digital display.
This is a typical Casio watch. Very rugged and durable being very reliable and robust. It is also quite complicated with numerous functions which I am still getting used to using. The numerical display is a bit too dark in my opinion and should have been a bit clearer to read especially in daylight conditions although there is a backlight but still an excellent watch, good looking and excellent value for money.

I looked at many G-shocks and read hundreds of reviews and did all my research and then i bought this one. Good watch, was delivered quick. I did have a issue with the original purchase which I contacted amazon over and they replaced it within a few days. Replacement is still going strong and worth it.
Yes the hour hand is hard to read at night but its a small price to pay for a very well made watch that does everything you need a watch to do. Wore it the whole time I was in Sharm el sheikh snorkling on the beach etc and it seems bullet proof.
Best watch, tough as it gets, i’ve got only one scratch on it, and I don’t really look after it. That scratch is very faint and came from a brick being dropped on it.
This is a very solid chunky watch, who cares if the light is not that bright and the readout is a little dull.
Put it on and you will feel like going on a secret mission dressed in SAS gear!
It’s all about the design, it’s large, reasonable lightweight, great to look at. But, it’s not an easy watch for actually telling the time, specially at night. It’s a fashion statement and that’s the main reason for buying it and it also feels very rugged.
This watch does not look as large as you would think on the wrist. It’s actually quite subtle.
I wanted a watch that I could use every day without worrying if it took the odd knock or scratch. This still looks like I’ve only just opened the box (tin). Feels comfortable, looks great and is as tough as advertised. Great watch, I’m sure I’ll be buying more G-Shocks.
Very good watch in general terms. However the display in relation to the date sometimes is hidden by the chunky hands.
it’s a very good watch, it looks big, but literally it’s weightless. and setting up the watch is really easy, if you can’t read the manual properly, go the casio’s website and download it in the bigger version and that is pretty handy. i would defintly recommend it.

Excellent watch, I’ve had it for roughly two weeks, so far no complaints.
Although it is not atomic or tough solar as some other Casio watches, it is a sturdy timepiece and I really like the double slots on the strap as it holds the watch down pretty well even if worn loose on the wrist.
I just couldn’t resist this watch. It looks pretty cool and the all black look is irresistible. The back light is, as it says in the reviews by X4CTO on Youtube, the only apparent drawback as it does not light up the digital time but then again, it lights up the analogue time, the hands of the watch quite well and that’s what matters; also, the yellow back light is quite in sync with the cockpit control panel look of the watch face.
And it looks really good on the wrist (even on relatively thin wrists), very sporty n suave looks, keeping it discreet and eye-catching at the same time. Five stars to this watch.

The G-shock is a design classic, and I cannot reccomend this one highly enough. Yes the light isn’t t amazing and you will struggle to read the inverted digital display in pitch darkness – but who cares! It looks awesome and the light t is perfectly adequate for viewing the analogue hands. Big watch, but understated and not in your face. I absolutely love it.

Bought this watch for my sons 18th birthday. He was very impressed as it’s fairly chunky and has lots of functions. It does look smart in red & black would definately recommend.
I have been looking for something of this type but the prices always scary so I often revisit the shops keeping track of the price so when I saw it cheaper on Amazon, I did not think twice I quickly rushed it.

Worn it for a year. Durability at its best. I’ve done everything from surfing, to diving to office work wearing this and it never missed a beat. THE perfect all-rounder. Worth every penny and more.
I got this as a present for my partner. Really good value for money. There is a particularly impressive feature where if you’re in a dark place you can tilt the watch and it will light up automatically. Very impressed and one happy man! He loved it!

Excellent product and great value. I wanted a tough and durable watch for any condition and the ga100 does the job and more. It’s got all the features I wanted, timer, stop watch, multiple alarms an digital and analogue time.
This watch also looks fantastic. The all black matte design gives a ‘tactical’ and military look. The orange light looks great with the black finish to the watch, however, be warned that the light does not display the digital time very well at all but does clearly show the analogue time.
Overall I could not be happier with this watch. It’s exactly what I wanted and is even better than I expected. I wear it for work, in the gym, running and swimming on holiday. Would recommend to anyone.
I love the look and feel of the watch, I hope it last for as much as the old g-shock did, the last one lasted for almost 10 years, then I lost it!

The watch is still going strong after more than 3 years of heavy use, hiking, safari, rock climbing, deep diving, snorkeling…etc the watch has seen -5C in London and seen +50C in Dubai with no single issue and still looks as good as new, even still going with the original battery.

The watch is still working and looking perfect, this thing is really bulletproof!
This watch is excellent for everyday use and is priced so low, you can’t say no. The functions may not always be used but it looks great and having them there is a plus. 5 daily alarms is pretty useful and some people complain about the light, but its enough to see the hands on the clock and just about the digital display. Stopwatch and timer are excellent, lots of customisability.
Finally, I was unsure because of the face size and having a small wrist, but it wears nice and looks great.
I brought this watch for every day use and though I usually wear high end watches, this works as a good alternative for not worrying whether it takes a slight knock. It is very functional and though I would not make use of all the functions, the alarm and world time zones are more than useful. The strap does look plastic and the bulk of the watch also; but it does not feel sweaty or retain the sweat sometimes felt when wearing it over long periods.
I would agree that once you have brought these watches, you may start to spend a bit more on other more expensive models (up to 6000!)
Since buying I have seen other models that are far higher in price and atheistically much better looking – though the price ranged from 600 – 6000. I may be persuaded as time goes on to invest in something between the price range suggested; as these models do not look plastic and are beefed up to the max!!
Ordered Wednesday night and received today. Great watch with a tactical look and good size. People have mentioned it is hard to set the time and read the digital face, but it really isn’t. Wanted a G-Shock for some time and would buy another for sure.
Great watch, looks good, not brightly coloured and in your face like some G Shocks. Has all the spec I need, over sized face is cool. Noticed people have moaned about the light, yes it doesn’t really light up the digital screens that well, but you can clearly see the analogue hands. So if you can’t tell the time the old fashion way at night then get another watch, or if you want this cool good looking watch learn to tell the time or get a torch !!!!
Brought this for my 13 year old sons birthday, and the result is that he loved it. It has a adjustable strap so don’t hesitate if you have a small wrist or buying for a younger. it has a very stealthy design. The only disappointment to this watch was that the light for the watch is not good enough. i don’t see how i could provide enough light to even see it in the dark. but I’m guessing thats due to the fact that the watch face is black and the digital screen is too so it would be hard to see. never the less this is a great watch and without a doubt would recommend this to a friend.
Ordered this for an everyday watch when i’m out and about so it needs to be able to take a few knocks etc. Was please with this watch for this purpose, its very solid and a good weight (i like heavier watches). Played a few sports in it and its been wet a few times and still easy to use. The light is not great but works for what its needed for. The face it pretty dark to read but i knew that when i ordered it so i expected that. The functions are pretty basic but all in all a good solid everyday watch at a good price.
First off the colour is not quite as bright as you see in the picture but it still looks awesome…I love everything about this watch but one thing….The LED on the watch is almost pointless…It is a clear LED so it is not really in-keeping with its blue theme which is a shame and it is located at the bottom of the face which just illuminates enough to make out some shadowing on the clock arms…the 2 displays are rendered useless by this and no light gets close to illuminating them. Don’t get me wrong it is a first class watch and I do not regret my purchase but I will look into how I can mod the LED to make this a 5* produc

Very solid watch. Impressed with the build quality. Bought it for 999 job and has stood up very well. The light is poor, needs indiglo or something similar. Can’t read the date when the clock hands are around 8. Has basic features, timer, stopwatch, world time but then that’s all I need. It is chunky but looks great this way in my opinion.
Arrived in good time and in a robust tin package. Instructions are relatively straightforward to follow and setting the watch up took only a couple of minutes.
Looks good and feels good to wear. It’s not topo heavy and although quite a big watch, doesn’t get in the way. I can’t fiond anything not to like really. Good watch, worth the money.
I choose this watch because my Husband was after a G-Shock watch and it was a reasonable price and looked good. He loves it the only thing I would say is that the hour hand is red and a little hard to see sometimes!
Big old lump of rubber but looks professional and means business, with my job I need a watch that can take few knocks so this should hopefully last more than others I’ve tried, love the look of it and the international warrantee is cool!
clear hands, nice and chunky, my husband has a big wrist and it looks good on it, the only negative is that the back light is not strong enough to see the digital date etc at night, but he still loves it, very competitive price when compared to high street.
This watch is fine for my other half, its big and bulky just what he wanted, the only downside is that its not very bright and is hard to see the hands of the clock.
Really good looking watch. Strong and resistant. Only fault that I can find is that when you light it up in the dark with its internal light you can’t read the digital clock. Oh and it doesn’t make tea!!!
Arrived very quickly and was well packed. I bought this for work as my jobs means im very active and other watches have not lasted long or scratched up. This after a few months of wearing everyday looks good as new. The only issue is that the plastic on the face of the watch protecting the glass from impacts catches dirt and grit meaning you need to run it under the tap to clean every few days. its very light for its size and comfy to wear.
This one great watch for stealth and tactical purpose. The night light looks like a small natural bulb. Just bright enough to see the time in about three twinkles of the eye. G-Shock, shock resistant water proof digital and analogue display. You cannot go wrong with this choice. And good for the money.
True to g-shock form, a tough no nonsense watch that you can fit and forget. You’re probably not buying a g-shock if you want subtle sizing and styling, but the “tacticool” blackout colour scheme on this watch actually make it look smart and like a much more expensive timepiece. Well recommended.
Only down side is cant see the digital display when dark, even when pressing the light button. I brought for 62 pounds from amazon,H Samuel wanted 120 pounds

I have owned G-Shock watches in the past with analogue faces but they were not always the easiest to get on with when changing the time (too time consuming). This model is suprising simply to change the face time whilst being comfortable to wear.
Excellent build quality. I bump it in to things everyday, but there’s no scratch afterwards. I can use it with water (although not recommended in the long term) and with everything else.
The bonus thing about the watch is that it looks really cool too. Army like in many ways.
Bought this because previous (similar) casio was excellent on timekeeping, and, lasted about 14yrs without any problems.
I like the facia and strap, excepting the strap does sometimes slip, not out of the buckle but what I call the `holder`.
Instructions – at first, I found them to be a nightmare. Reading them, no joking, I needed to use a magnifying glass, though my eyesight is good. Understanding them, took time, lots of it. I have to add, I’m taking the instructions step by step, slowly, and repeatedly, as I am finding it difficult to remember what the processes are, C-A-D-A-D and so it goes on. Nevertheless I’m getting there.
Alarm, is barely audible, but there must be a volume control somewhere.
But, I do like the watch very much. I’m sure other persons will, and have, found instructions easy to follow so don’t let me put you pff, entirely!

I love these watches they look so different to the normal watch, and this one is great to look at and feels good.
I did have a few issues setting it up but that was me not the watch. But all is fine now.

I love this watch,my previous watch is a tissot and i paid 450 for that,got this Gshock for 67 .First time I wore it and friends were asking me where i got from ,they could not believe how much i paid for it.The watch itself looks great is very light on the wrist and the black colour makes it look very different to most watches on the market,buy one.
Quality watch, I can’t say I use all the features but I love the asthetics and have never had a problem telling the time on it despite the stealth styling. I’ll vouch for the toughness as on occasion clumsy and often lazy resulting in it taking a few tumbles and you’d never know by looking at it.
I bought this as a birthday present for my fiance to wear on an up coming holiday where he wants to do a lot of swimming and he absolutely loves it. It arrived very quickly and extremely well packaged. Very pleased with this purchase.
For the price this is probably a really good buy and this was for work use only, I have only used this for the past few days and it is light enough to ware all day, however the display is quite dark and hard to see sometimes when indoors, the light does help some what but it can be tricky, apart from this really up to date sturdy watch.

As many reviews have already pointed out, you can’t go wrong with a G Shock. I like the all black stealth appearance of this model, but I generally like black things! I considered one with coloured numbers etc but I’m happy I went for the all black. I’d say this is a more understated style, so bear that in mind if you are considering this against one of the brighter styles.
I spent a long time looking at various watches and price’s as soon as I sore this watch I liked the look of it and its even better in the flesh than in the pictures its got all the functions I need and more, for the price I paid I love it top watch
If you want a stealthy, big faced watch with subtle styling but do not want to pay Suunto money then this might well be the watch for you. I’m really pleased with it!

A sone guy said, its a watch, not a torch. press the light….you can see the time ! kinda what I need anyway. excellent….I knew the digital display would be difficult to see….but I dont care. its part of the stealth look. And when I really need to remind myself of the date or the number of seconds….I just sligthly move my wrist. A great watch. glad I bought it.
Really pleased with the watch.. I wear it every day. It is very comfortable and hugely tough. I wore it downhill mountain biking when I first got it and, inevitably, I hit it against a rock. No visible damage.

Nice watch really looks the part. the world time zone function is great . changed it from TYO time to UK time out of the box . the hands gracefully moved around to the new time which was bang on to the second with the phone talking clock.
It is difficult to see the hands at night even with the back light. they should have put luminescent hands on it.
you need 20/20 vision for this watch.

This was a gift and it’s been so well received. the design was very sturdy and it came in a great tin so made for an excellent gift actually! The features of the watch are so impressive and it finds the time for you when you set it which was really cool. Has a lot of features and we didn’t find any problems seeing the dials in the dark as some others had written. I would recommend this watch, it’s stylish, durable, and has lots of features.
I wanted a watch i could use offshore, something rough and could stand the test of time yet elegant. This was the watch. The combination of red and black was excellent. It’s what’s in the pack you get. Really good. I seriously recommend. Price is good and you get the class of a G-shock.
Bought this despite other reviews advising they weren’t happy with the light. I now know what they meant. However, this is not a factor enough for me to return the watch or take away form the plasur of owning it.

I’ve had this watch now for over a year and it is superb! It is light and comfortable considering the size and is surprisingly subtle [IMO].
I am fairly familiar with the settings and functions – but you still need to look some up from time to time, as there are so many.
The watch has been everywhere with me, so it has taken some knocks – it has only just started to show signs of wear, but it only adds to the look. Overall as is with all the G-Shocks I’ve owned, the build quality is superb and extremely robust!
The only thing that I don’t really like, [but it is a personal thing], is the light – it is orange. But that doesn’t require a lesser rating.

This Casio GA-100-1A1ER GShock is a very cool looking watch. Black with a black face and kind of dark white numbering.
It has a digital read out as well as white hands.
There is a normal timing function, stopwatch, timer, world time and alarm functions too.
There is a bright light button as well as quite a cool function which switches the light on when you tilt your wrist.
All in all I love this watch. It’s really big and sits well on my wrist.
The one issue is that maybe the white numbering is maybe not bright enough to read easily against the black face…but its hardly an issue.
I’m happy with the watch, the only negative aspects to the watch are its dark face and I’ve had real difficulty in the settings on the watch. This is not usually a problem for me.
Very pleased with it. Some people complained about the yellow light but I actually quite like it. I have really roughed it with this watch and it hasn’t let me down yet. Like most G-shocks it has a ton of features. Just make sure before you start playing around with the buttons that you read the manual and learn how to operate the watch properly – if you don’t you could get pretty lost and probably won’t utilize half of the features it offers.
The product is exactly as described. It’s a great watch, it can take a punch but also still looks good with a suite and tie. The only thing I find lacking is a hand of the seconds. As the light in the watch only lights up the hands and it’s difficult to see the digital part with the built in light. But overall I love this watch, it’s definitely worth it’s price, it works great and it looks great too.

Does all the things G shocks do,unfortunately not that well.The analogue hands are very easy to read and buttons work fairly easily.
The problem is that the reverse display is hard to see in low light and impossible in the dark as the display is front lit by an orange glow which highlights the hands only.Why didn’t Casio use the lighting system from the Mudman?-perfect.The hands also obscure the display panels at certain times.
Otherwise I should think that this watch is almost indestructible.If you like G shocks and oversized watches this may suit if you don’t go out after sunset.
Apparantley named the Dark Knight, this watch was purchased for a gift. Beautiful design and arrived, on time and in perfect condition. Only one fault,the outer box was slightly damaged in transit however it doesnt detract from the overall service.
The only draw back I have found so far is the light. My old G-Shock (bought in 2003 and only just about ready to be retired) had a full illuminated face, which made checking the time in the middle of the night really easy. The light on the 110 is actually really poor. No backlight, just a larger glow from the 6 o’clock position and some tiny side lights from 9 – 3 o’clock. In the dark I can’t read the digital time and can only make out one of the handles (silver one – other is red). Obviously this isn’t the end of the world, but it does mean I have to keep a second watch at the side of the bed to check the time when my little nippers wake up in the night – more inconvenient than anything. For this reason I’m going 4.5 stars.
For the price this watch is currently offered at, I really do not think there are many better options. I’ve been looking to update from my old G for about a year, and this was the one watch that always stood out. I was patient and have save nearly 40 on the price I originally saw.
I have always fancied buying a G-Shock watch, I have a few more expensive watches (so much so I am careful when I choose to wear them), but with this watch there are no worries, it is solid, great looking and a nice size (quite large). Great buy from Amazon.
This I thought was the best looking of the watches in the range and at a great price (about 75). I’d read the reviews about the size of it but thought I’d give it a go.
When it arrived it seemed huge (I have quite narrow wrists) but I wore it for a couple of days and quickly got used to it (so much so that wearing my other watches now feel likely ladies dress watches in comparison)
This watch is extremely well made and solid with a good chunky strap. It has 4 button (one for the light and the others for the various functions and features). The manual is small but very thick and comprehensively covers all the modes and settings in an easy to understand way.
The digital time is set to match the analogue time exactly and it has always been a minor niggle of mine on previous watches where the two are out of sync. There is a very good calibration feature where the two are easily recalibrated if they fall out of sync for any reason.
Another nice feature is the movement of the minute hand which clicks round at 20 second intervals to match the digital time (rather than moving slowly round as with other watches). A minor thing but a nice touch i thought.
The digital display can be toggled between the date and the time. The date does follow the american format of month then day but as one is above the other rather than both side by side I’ve not found this to be a particular problem.
As others have noted, the light is the big let down on the watch. The led is located at the 6 o’clock position and fails to illuminate the entire face. Also the red hour hand is also difficult to see in the yellow light. It is still readable but could be better.
For some strange reason Casio have also added luminous paint to the number positions around the outside of the face which would be great but for the fact that the hour and minute hand are unpainted rendering it totally useless in the dark and meaning you need to use the light at night.
Overall its a fantastic and eye catching watch for the price. 4 stars for me. Would’ve been 5 if not for the lighting issue and if it had been maybe 3/4 of the size it is.
