My husband is a very keen DIYer and he has many power tools, however recently his cordless jigsaw has stopped working for some reason and he’s been delighted to give this cordless jigsaw and reciprocating saw from Wesco a try.

This jigsaw is in the mid price range and my husband’s pleased to see for the price (79.99 price correct at the time of this review) it does have quite a lot of good features.

This saw is an 18 volt multifunction saw, it comes with a rechargeable battery and charger plus 10 different saw blades … are suitable for cutting wood 50 mm, PVC pipe 45 mm, ceramic tiles, plastic, fibreglass and metal 4 mm.

There is an integrated LED work light which automatically comes on when you’re using the saw, also a dust blower which although isn’t particularly powerful does manage to blow away the dust as you saw, keeping things much clearer for you to see.

In use my husband found this saw useful for so many small DIY jobs also he’s found this saw good at cutting back branches of shrubs etc.

This is an easy to use machine and it has the standard safety features in place which helps avoid accidents.

All in all this is a good machine for the price snd very suitable for the home DIYer.

Thank you for reading you found my review helpful

Handy for most common DIY purposes. Not difficult to grip or handle and comes with all required accessories.
Fine for lighter demanding cutting jobs, worktops, particle boards, ply etc. Not necessarily sure suitable for heavier duty jobs/denser material, don’t think it has sufficient power but for general all round use its fine and not difficult to operate.
Packaging not excessive and instructions clear.
Power up time reasonable and compares well to our other cordless tools

Battery powered reciprocal saw. Really great. Feels sturdy and well made. Easy to fit blades. Easy to adjust blade angle, making it great for everything from pruning to detailed work. So far motor runs well. Excellent, 5 stars.

Given the price, my expectations were pretty low. However, this jigsaw is pretty good. Naturally, you can get something better. For a much higher price. I’ve found this pretty flexible for small jobs around the house.

    Good quality

Good quality 2 in 1 cordless jigsaw.
Comes with 10 different saw blades.
Charge time only takes 1 hour which is great as my partner can charge it between jobs. Battery life is only approximately 20 minutes though so only good for small, quick jobs.
Not too heavy to hold. Good for cutting in small spaces.
    Priced well for the quality.
Would recommend this Jigsaw by WESCO.

This is a lovely little saw, suitable for a wide range of activities. It’s perhaps not quite robust enough to warrant pride of place in a professional toolkit but for someone who just has some stuff they need to do around the house I think you’ll be well pleased. The feature set is considerable and its flexibility means it’ll work in a lot of circumstances where you might otherwise have to buy lots of different size devices. It’s pretty lightweight, holds a decent charge, and while it isn’t really much as a ‘reciprocating’ saw it’s certainly a useful item to have in your possessio

Having the option to use an electronic, hand-held saw is much better than having to manually cut items with a non-electronic saw.

Though it has a small bit of weight to it, it is still light enough to hold in one hand.

The blades work well on cutting through a variety of items – you can use it for DIY or you can even use it for gardening as it can cut through tree branches without too much effort.

I do like that this has a dust blower and light as it makes it easier to see any outlines that you are cutting through.

Battery doesn’t last as long as I thought it would – it would be best to use this for short periods of time. However, it does charge up very quickly so you can quickly continue where you left off.

It’s currently priced at 79.99 which I think is a very good price for the convenience it adds and the time it can save.

Overall, a very useful tool for both DIY and gardening.

This is rather a funky little, flexible saw with quite a nifty design. I really like the way you can reconfigure it to use is as either a jigsaw or reciprocating saw, which is very unusual and makes it a handy thing to have in a toolbox. The saw is lightweight and comes with a variety of different blades, which are easy to change as required.

The jigsaw function works the best, and it powerful enough for general tasks, but the reciprocating saw is a little on the weak side to be honest, so if that is your primary reason for getting this tool than I would opt for a dedicated reciprocating saw instead.

All in all this is actually a pretty decent bit of kit to have in your garage. It works more than well enough for general use and is not at all bad for the money.

This works really well as a smaller compact, portable rechargable jigsaw. I have been really impressed with it, and although it is lightweight , it works well. I don’t know that it is the most precise saw, but we have been pleased with the use of it. HOWEVER, when we used it in reciprocating mode, the blade had to be reversed, and it seemed to struggle on a relatively small (3cm diameter) branch and fence panel. It worked, but not as well as a larger saw, or even a decent hand saw for branches and fence panel frames, but for smaller pieces, it was really effective.

This cordless jigsaw works reasonably well and is relatively easy to use too. The grip takes a little bit of getting used to but it is effective nonetheless, so I would still recommend at the current price of just under 70.

This is a really useful tool , does exactly as it says on the box. It’s a light weight jigsaw so no arm ache, easily used in one hand and virtually no vibration. This all makes it very flexible to use either vertical or even more usefully switched into horizontal mode when attempting delicate woodworking on doors and cornices. The battery is powerful , holds its charge for nearly an hour, but best used in shorter bursts, non the less only takes a short time to recharge . Much safer than having cables around the cutting site. I used it on wood and plastic but also claims to be just as efficient on metal. A mix of blades comes in the box. This tool has proved to be a very useful addition to my workshop and I highly recommend it.

I was excited to try out this saw because it is multi-use and can be used for many different things. It was delivered quickly and in good quality packaging, and only weighs around 2kg which is super lightweight. It is easy to use and there is a lot included for the price.

It is cordless which makes it a lot easier to use and a lot more practical. It can work on many different types of surfaces as well which is good. The battery is also included which is great. There are 10 different blades included, and each blade can be used for more than one thing.

It cuts really well and works fanatically, you don’t really have to try hard and it works very well. It is easy to change between the heads as well.

Overall, it is good value for money, everything you need is included, and I highly recommend it.

This is surprisingly powerful for the price, my son tried this out and wasn’t overly confident that it would do the job but he used it on a job today to cut worktops and said it was easy to use and done the job just as well as a dearer equivalent.

This is more powerful then expected for the price, it’s also a lot smaller then expected. For the price it’s a powerful little cordless jigsaw. Definitely more suited for around the house jobs then bigger jobs. The blades are small and you can only use the small blades on this jigsaw. It’s has cut through ply wood with no issue and trimmed some beams. The other half said it’s a bargain at this price with a decent size motor at that price.I’ll take his word for it as I know nothing about tools. He is pretty happy to have this on the tool box

Good value - smaller then expected

I have to admit, I’ve been wanting to get a battery operated jigsaw for some time. My last one had a NiCd battery in it, so was generally always flat when it was needed. They’ve come a long way since then though, in terms of technology and batteries and it was only recently, when completing some flat plastic roofing work for my parents, that I realised that I really needed a jigsaw myself for jobs around the home and garden.

This Wesco cordless jigsaw meets all my requirements and more. It’s the perfect jigsaw for casual DIY use and may even be good for professional use if you purchase some additional batteries.

If you’ve never really used a jigsaw before, you can’t go wrong with this. It comes with a selection of blades and the quick release blade mounting system is fantastic. There’s no messing around with Allen keys to fit new blades; simply twist the mount, push a blade in and release the twist mount. Removal is exactly the same process. There’s even a thin blade guard, which can also be used as a guide in use, alongside the handy blade area LED light.

This has standard safety features, including a dual button / trigger system to avoid accidental operation. It’s primarily aimed at right handed use due to the placement of the safety button.

The battery is a good 18v slide in type. A quick search on Amazon can find spare batteries. I’m not sure if other brands may also fit, but I haven’t got any other ones myself that do. I particularly like how the battery charger is tiny. Often these can be bigger than the tool itself, however this is minimalistic and slides on top of the battery, with clear red and green power lights.

The reciprocating saw option may seem like a novelty, although this may come in handy for hard to reach items that need cutting, such as branches. I have a small tree branch overhanging my fence that this may just about reach.

Overall, this is a really impressive bit of kit for the price. It far exceeds my expectations and will be getting plenty of use over the coming years. I can most definitely recommend it.

Excellent quality. Powerful and well made

I was really surprised by the small size of this Jigsaw which is ideal for doing DIY jobs at home and at the same time very handy to cut some hard tree branches. I had a go-to cut hardboard for my kid’s project and it was quite easy, the light indicator provided at the top is also helpful. The rechargeable battery power is reasonable and it comes with all necessary sets of saws for most of my household jobs. Having said that due to the size of the saws I don’t think it is a complete replacement for the long saw.

Really like the product as it makes cutting so simple and effortless.

This little 2-in-1 cordless jigsaw and reciprocating saw is a handy little tool to have around the house.
The tool is nice and compact (smaller than I thought it was going to be) and has a very nice solid feel to it’s plastic body — it certainly doesn’t feel cheaply made.

It runs using an 18v Lithium battery which slots onto the rear of the saw, which nicely balances out the weight of the motor that is located on the front.
There is a small safety button on the side that needs to be pressed before you can squeeze the trigger to activate the cutting blade.
The blade mounts quickly and easily without any tools needed. You simply need to twist the locking collar, insert the blade and release the collar.

Because this is a 2-in-1 saw, you can lift the lever located on the front of the saw, which will then enable you to adjust the blades vertical angle by selecting one of the 6 ratcheted positions.

The saw runs at 2500 RPM (this isn’t adjustable) and can cut steel to a maximum of 4mm, wood to 50mm and PVC pipe to 45mm and has a built in LED light to help you see your cutting line.

You also get a selection of 10 different blades in a handy storage box, which are suitable for cutting various materials (including, wood, steel, aluminium and ceramic).

    ***** In The Box *****

    1 x Cordless Saw
    1 x 2Ah 18v Battery
    1 x Battery Charger
    2 x Steel Blades
    4 x Wood Blades
    2 x Aluminium Blades
    2 x Ceramic Blades
    1 x User Guide

    ***** Conclusion *****

This is my first experience of the WESCO brand and I have to say I’m really pleased with the overall quality and feel of the product.

As a basic cordless jigsaw, it works very well with enough power to cut through most home DIY tasks.
It is worth noting that you cannot change the speed of the saw, which is useful when cutting different materials and to help increase the life of blades. It is also not possible to tilt the blade for cutting angles and there is no cutting guide to help with straight cuts.

The reciprocating saw feature is useful for cutting through small items, but won’t cope with larger items that a true recip-saw will cope with, due to the small blades.

I was also a little disappointed that there is no storage case for the saw, as I like to keep my tools stacked away neatly in boxes.

So overall, as a simple jigsaw to have around the house, this is quite a useful little tool, although if you looked around you could find a more fully featured jigsaw for your money.

I think the product listing spatters in everything it can to get as many hits as it can, such as this being a Jigsaw and Reciprocating Saw. For all intents and purposes in use this is a jigsaw really that’s cordless and more suited to small / thinner / lighter tasks then a full Reciprocating Saw.

The item comes well packaged and it solid in the hand. The battery charges reasonably quick and for the price it does all feel like its worth it. The saw has a light built in to show where your cutting, nice lock feature and to change between jigsaw and Reciprocating Saw modes its easy.

For use, we have used it for cutting skirting boards without bother, cutting PVC piping and the bottom off doors. In these cases it worked fine, though struggled on the doors, for that reason this item is going to be more suited to lighter – medium difficulty tasks then hours and hours of trying to cut deep / thick items.

Overall either way for the price, its a very good unit and punch’s above its weight hence the full 5 stars, even if few of the terms are being stretched somewhat.

Initial charge took about 2 hours. It doesn’t appear to say in the pamphlet how long it should take. The charger is tiny (much smaller than the battery itself) and is very easy to use. The battery slides in and out very easily.

The quick-change blade ‘chuck’ is very convenient, but note that it needs to take special “T-shank” blades (see photo), so if you plan on re-using existing blades or picking up cheap replacement blades you need to get compatible ones. To fit a blade you merely turn the ‘chuck’ ring a quarter turn, slide the blade in pointing in the direction you want it – forwards or backwards – and release the blade holder ring. To remove, ensure the blade is not too hot, and then turn the chuck ring again. The blade holder is spring-loaded, so the blade will spring out of the blade holder and fall on the floor until you remember to release the blade more carefully, over a bench.

Switching between the “jigsaw configuration” and the “reciprocating” one takes seconds. You’d typically put the blade in the opposite way around for reach configuration.

In common with mode jigsaws it can be slow work sawing through a large hunk of wood, compared to using a circular saw or good hand rip saw. But for cutting curves and for sheet materials a saw like this is very useful, and being cordless is even more convenient. With a full charge this was powerful enough to handle a 2 inch beam without trouble. The motor also has an electronic brake so as soon as you release the trigger the blade comes to a rapid stop.

The manual is concise but comprehensive.

Overall this is a very useful and portable saw.

Works so great and not to heavy.
Its quite small, so can say also portable.
Comes with the 10 blades. and good for any wood.

Overall, Im very satisfied with it.
And surely can recommend it to all.

I have to say I was surprised at how small the box for this saw is. I thought it was just parts and I requested the wrong thing, but I was wrong, due to clever packing it’s all there.

It feels solid in the hand and very comfortable to use. It’s clearly well designed and well made. It’s a dusty blue colour. (Not that the colour really matters).

It’s easy to change between jigsaw and reciprocating mode and it feels secure in both.

I had a new, round kitchen sink delivered and it was fractionally too big. So, this was used to take off some of the worktop and it was effortless . There was no real pressure needed and the motor didn’t struggle at all, it worked smoothly and did the job. The smaller size of this jigsaw made a fiddly job much easier.

The motor and battery are strong and it has variable speed. It’s light is nice and bright and lights your work making it easy to see exactly where you are cutting.

Overall, this is a well made jigsaw/reciprocating saw that is simple to use and works very well. A great addition to the toolbox. Highly recommended.

A great addition to the toolbox

First off, I must say that this is NOT a proper reciprocating saw in that the blade is too thin and short.

That aside, in all other respects this is a super jig saw that can be used as a reciprocating saw for small jobs such as cutting rose bush branches and the like. Anything over about 18mm and it would be in trouble.

It comes well boxed, but I was surprised at how small the box was (see photos). The box includes all you need to get started, a saw (thank goodness), an 18v battery, a mains charger for battery, and a set of saws to cover most of your needs.

Being 18v, this mid-priced saw has more than sufficient power to deal with most jobs and I managed to cut a 30cm hole in 2.5cm wood, taking my time so as not to put too much pressure on the saw or the blade and it did the job as good as any saw I’ve used.

The included blades will do a fair job, but, essentially they’re free so don’t expect too much.

AND.wonder of wonders in this internet mad world, there’s a reasonably good manual telling you all the basic facts.

Overall, for what this saw produces for the price charged, I feel this warrants a definite 5 stars, but would like the advert to be reworded to include the word ‘small’ in front of ‘reciprocating saw’, so that potential buyers don’t feel they’ve been ripped off when, in essence, they haven’t been.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersVery pleased with this tool! Seems well designed and made. It feels very comfortable in the hand while working. In both jigsaw and reciprocating mode, there is zero play in the head. Pivots evenly and locks in solid. Motor and battery are strong. Variable speed is very smooth and precise. The only use so far has been jigsaw cutting parts from wood (saw mode). I used the WESCO wood blade, provided with the tool and it worked like a charm. Both jigsaw and reciprocating blades lock in tight. Light is bright and shines on the cut with no shadowing. The battery life is quite good, which will easily reach you to complete any household project. This small saw is a replacement for a full-size saw, which is very useful to have for working in small spaces and to make quick cuts. I’m so glad I bought this tool!
