Sticky Cola Baked Ham Serves 6-8-2kg (approximately) gammon -2 bay leaves -2 Star Anise -1.5 L cola, not sugar free -Glaze -75ml maple syrup -1 tbsp wholegrain mustard -2 tbsp soy sauce Method: -Rinse and dry the gammon, no need to pre soak overnight. -Place the gammon into the removable bowl. -Pour over the cola, this should more or less cover the gammon. -Add the bay leaves and star anise. -Cover and cook on Low for 8 hours or High for 6-7 hours. -Remove the gammon carefully from the bowl, you may find it easier to tip away some for the liquid first. -Preheat your oven to 200°c. -Remove the top layer of rind/fat from the gammon. -Score a criss cross pattern over the remaining fat. -Place the gammon onto an ovenproof baking sheet. -Mix together the glaze ingredients, spoon this over the gammon. -Bake in a hot oven for approx 15 minutes. -Allow to cool slightly before serving. | ORANGE CRÈME BRÛLÉE-6 egg yolks -75g caster sugar -600ml double cream -1 vanilla pod -1 lemon, zest only -3 oranges, zest only -4/5 tsp demerara sugar Method: -In a bowl, beat together the egg yolks and sugar with a whisk. -Split the vanilla pod and scrape the inside to remove the seeds. Pour the cream into a pan and add the vanilla pod and seeds, orange and lemon zest. Bring this to the boil and gently simmer for 2-3 minutes, set aside. Allow to cool slightly. -Pour over the egg yolks and sugar whilst beating vigorously to make custard. -Pour the custard through a fine sieve into a jug. With a ladle, carefully skim any foam from the surface. -Pour the custard into ramekins and loosely cover them with foil and place them into the Crock-Pot bowl. -Carefully pour boiling water half way up the ramekins and cook on the high heat setting for 1 hour until set. -Remove the ramekins and allow to cool before chilling for at least 2 hours or overnight. -Sprinkle 1 tsp of the Demerara sugar over each Brûlée, caramelise either under the grill or using a chef’s mini blowtorch. -Delicious served with some mini shortbread and a touch of orange zest to garnish. -Best served immediately after caramelizing its sweet, sugary surface . | DELICIOUS DUCK RAGU-1 tbsp vegetable oil -4 duck legs, skin on & bone -2 red onions, diced -1stick of celery, finely chopped -3 cloves of garlic, finely chopped -1-2 tsp cinnamon (optional & to taste) -250ml red wine -2 x 400g cans of chopped tomatoes -1 heaped tbsp tomato puree -1 tsp sugar -1 chicken stock cube made into 100ml or 1 chicken stock pot -3 sprigs of rosemary, leaves picked & chopped -2 bay leaves -2 tbsp milk -600g pappardelle pasta -parmesan,to serve handful of chopped parsley Method: -Heat the oil in a pan or Crock-Pot sauté pot. Add the duck and brown on all sides for around 5 minutes. Remove from the pan/pot and set aside. -In the same pan or Crock-Pot sauté pot add the onions and celery. Fry on a medium heat of 5 minutes then add the garlic & cinnamon, if used. -Add the wine and sauté on a high heat. Once the alcohol has evaporated add the tomatoes, puree, sugar, stock, herbs and seasoning, stir well, remove from the heat. -Add the duck legs and sauce into your Crock-Pot bowl and cook on high for 3-4 hours or low for 6-7 hours. -Once finished carefully remove the duck legs, discard the bones and fat and shred with two forks. Add the milk and the shredded duck back into the sauce and stir. Season to taste. -Cook the pasta as per packet instructions and serve the duck ragu on the pasta with a generous helping of parmesan, and a sprinkling of chopped parsley. |

Mi primer contacto con este tipo de olla. Aunque he de decir que hemos devuelto este modelo para cambiarlo por otro de mayor tamao y forma ovalada (sta al ser redonda resulta un poco pequea para los pescados y algunos moldes) me ha gustado su facilidad de manejo y el sabor de los alimentos. La recomiendo sin duda.

Great for cooking a variety of slowcooked food. Easy to use. You can cook on stove first to brown the meat and then put the pot in the cooker to simmer until its done.
Cleaning must be done outside dishwasser.. and timer is in 30 minutes steps. Temp has 3 fixed positions.. high low and keep warm. So very much straightforward and no extra features whatsoever.

I use to have an original stoneware Crockpot which was great. I purchased this one as a replacement.
Crockpot is well made, love the fact that you can use the bowl on the stove top or use it in the oven.

Decent slow cooke
It heats up quickly. You can throw the pot on the hob to brown the meat. It goes over to warm automatically once preset cooking time is over. Got a bacon joint with apples and allspice in the thing as I type.
Only marked it 1 star for flavour because it’s a slow cooker not a meal cooked it one. Who thinks up these rating categories? Eh?

Shape of cooker limits what can be cooked in it.
Generally I have been pleased with this slow cooker. It’s round shape does limit what can be cooked in it. For example it will only accommodate a small chicken.
The plus side of the shape is that the bowl can be used on a hob. It has a steel plate on the base of the bowl so it will work on an induction hob. This is useful if adding something, like sour cream, at the end of cooking, or thickening a stew.

Reconociendo que me daba cierto respeto comprar otro “ayudante grande” para mi cocina, he de decir que estoy contentsima.
El consumo elctrico es muy bajo (un gran punto a su favor si tus electrodomsticos son todos elctricos: cocina y horno). Tambin es muy fcil de usar, partiendo de que puedes elegir ponerlo todo en crudo y a funcionar, o bien darle ese toquecito previo si quieres hacer un sofrito antes de la coccin sin manchar ms recipientes
Para los guisos de carnes y las legumbres es impresionante. Lo pones por la noche y te encuentras la comida hecha cuando te despiertas (bien para poner en tupper para el trabajo, o que te la mantenga calentita al llegar). Y si por tu trabajo solo cenas en casa, pues al revs .
TRUCO PERSONAL: yo siempre hago raciones de ms y me dejo una para la misma semana y congelo el resto (ahora mismo estoy haciendo 1kg de alubias!!
El recipiente es muy ligero y se limpia en un plis, aunque hay que tener cuidado por si le das un golpe con la encimera, evidentemente .
Hay dos cosas que mejorara:
1.- Que las asas estuvieran recubiertas de material que no queme, tipo silicona. S, s que puedes coger un trapo para evitarlo, pero es que es muy fcil despistarse porque no se nota mucho calor al acercarte.
2.- Que las digitales pudieran tener mecanismo de programacin.
Para acabar, que me enrollo mucho , como puedes encontrar las recetas por internet, pues solo hace falta imaginacin para tener una dieta variada y caprichosa con poco esfuerzo.

So happy with my crockpot. Debated over which ones to buy after reading many reviews on different slow cookers. Have used it several times now and it’s perfect every time. The inner pot is so light and very easy to clean. Definitely needs gloves to lift out as it gets hot (to be expected though). Have made soups, casseroles and dry meals and all have come out perfectly. Happy with it so far and ensuring I use non scratch utensils.

I’ve had this for well over a year now (I think) and it hasn’t failed me yet. Living w/ a small kitchen or in a place where food ingredients leave something to be desired? Then a crockpot is a must, and if you’re looking for a new one, this guy is fantastic.
I don’t have an induction so I can’t make use of this, but the internal container would be perfect. The fact that it is so light helps that much more in terms of cleaning, stowing, or even movement with hot food contained.
VERY EASY TO USE
I was concerned in case the controls were difficult to understand but they couldn’t be easier. You can even change from Low to High to Warm during the cooking cycle. It’s wonderful that you can use the inner pot on the stove top for a quick start or searing meat etc. Thoroughly recommend this item.

Never invested into this price bracket of slow cookers but gosh was it worth it. It’s so light weight but maintains high quality… So much better than super heavy ceramic ones. Easy to use dial, no messing about.

I bought this to replace a very old and smaller slow cooker and it is perfect, does the job well, and is a great size for 4 people. Having the removable ‘pan’ which can go on the hob is a great bonus.

Slow cooking nirvana
Slow cooking takes some getting used to but once you get the bug this thing helps to make some great tasting food. What I like is the removable job safe saut pot which works on my induction hob. This makes cooking eat more versatile and really does allow for one pot cooking so you can or finish on the job of needs be. This was a present for my wife and she is very happy.

This is the best little crock pot!! I love the fact that I can start stove top (great feature for saut onion garlic celery) and finish up slow cooking. I also love the fact that the lid lifts and stays in place open. Nicely thought out.

Great for meat dishes that require long slow cooking – meats become tender and more flaboursome and you can use cheaper cuts of meat which benefit from this style of cooking.

Just prepare the vegetables. Add some stock and the meat, set the timer and after 6 hours it was ready!

Very good but not perfec
I bought this slow cooker for several reasons. Firstly, I was tired of having ceramic crocks crack after even careful use. Secondly, I wanted non stick, but not Teflon. Thirdly, I wanted to be able to brown food first in the slow cooker on my induction hob.
Pros – Wonderful non stick surface that is easy to clean and is very lightweight.
Browns food nicely on my induction hob.
Cons – I can foresee the lid being problematic, both because the hinge is plastic and liable to break, and the rubber seal is ridiculous!
The price. Fortunately I got a deal on Amazon. I think the non stick surface and the fact that it an be used for browning food on any hob are definitely not worth the extra
cost. Why not modify the ridiculous lid and lower the price?
Having said all the above, I do not regret my purchase. My friends call me Queen of the Slow Cooker and I fancied treating myself!

Have avoided slow cookers for yrs, finally caved and this crock pot sure does make it the easiest, most effective, cooking utensil I have. Love that it truely it a ‘one stop pot’.

Used it three times so far. Once for a curry and once for a casserole, and for a creamy chicken dish. Good for frying the onions and meat on my induction hob. Need the small ring though. Also be warned the inner pot gets very hot, even the handles. Very pleased with it and would recommend.

Great non-stick induction compatible slow cooke

Bought this as I have an five-ring induction hob, it doesn’t work on all the rings. I haven’t worked out why as all my other pots and pans work on all the rings.
Only disappointment is that it doesn’t have a delay timer button.
Brilliant slow cooker! I can’t fault it. It’s so useful and time-saving to be able to brown/pre-cook ingredients when necessary on the hob, instead of having to use another pan. Another plus point is that the base is so lightweight, as is the pot itself. I also like the design of the pot (see photo). I had a Crock Pot back in the 1970s, but over the years I have had maybe two others (different makes). When my last one needed replacing I thought I would go back to Crock Pot as my first one was so good. What a good decision. Highly recommended.

I’ve used it to make beef stew and pork gammon in the first week. The cooked meat tender and juicy. The bowl is good quality and very convenient can be used on hob. The cooker is very light in weight. This size is enough for making two meals for a couple, save me much time. It’s really worthy for this price.

Autumn again and the slow cooker is my favourite cooking pot for winter stews and casseroles. Very easy to use, like that you can use on hob first (dates on washing up). I just have to remember to reduce amount of liquid in recipes as not as much required.
So easy to use and clear instructions. Ideal for use when out of the kitchen for the day. Jam sponge also worked well.
Does exactly what it promises
Brilliant slow cooker. Hinged lid is a good idea and the fact you can saut on the hob first if you want to means only using one pot and it also goes in the oven for your dumplings! Great bit of kit.

This crock pot has the advantage of using it to brown meat in the inner recipient, directly on the flame, then transfer to the base. Lid is a little fiddly but once you know to open the lid from the side, to avoid scalding yourself, you’re ok. Keeps its moisture, impeccable, high temperature is actually hotter than you’d expect. Low is sufficient.

Excellent product that performs as it claims . Takes longer than expected to come to top cooking temperature but , once there , it produces a lovely meal , especially good for stews and casseroles .
Compatible with induction hob which not all slow cookers can offer . Detachable lid is another bonus .
The slow cooker is an excellent size when cooking for 8 people or wanting to double up recipes to freeze.
The pot itself is light weight and very easy to clean. I haven’t found that it scratches as other reviews stated, obviously metal utensils would damage the surface. I have found that the cooker, even on low setting is quite high and meals don’t take as long to prepare as stated in cook books.
The huge disappointment is the digital timer. I presumed the cooker could be set to a delayed start or to switch from High to Low during the cooking process when not there. This is not the case so there is no advantage over a manual timer and yet it costs another 20 for this version. I don’t think the extra cost for the digital version is worth paying for and it is misleading to be sold as such.
