Very good coffee machine.
After being in my barista weeks, I generally learned how to use it. Still not mastering the milk frothing. Coffee quality is very good, the machine is amazing. Totally recommend it!
Daily Coffee Made Perfec
I have been using this coffee machine every day and I am genuinely impressed with both the machine and the overall experience. The setup was simple, the interface is intuitive, and all the functions work seamlessly. Whether it’s espresso, cappuccino, or cold brew, the brewing process is smooth and consistent every single time.
The standout feature for me is definitely the Cold Brew option. The taste is rich, smooth, and surprisingly close to what you get at premium cafs. I never expected homemade cold brew to taste this good, but this machine has exceeded my expectations.
The coffee quality is excellent, the temperature is just right, and the machine is easy to clean and maintain. It feels premium in terms of build quality and looks fantastic on the kitchen counter as well.
A special mention to the DeLonghi team — they have been extremely supportive throughout the purchase and setup process. Their customer service and responsiveness made the experience even better.
Overall, if you’re someone who enjoys coffee daily and wants caf-quality beverages at home, this machine is absolutely worth the investment. Highly recommended!
Great product. However the one feature I find stupid is the 1 or 2 cup option. If you choose the 2 cup option you always get too much coffee dispensed and if you try and proceed the machine will get clogged up. Such a simple problem introduced for what reason? I suspect there are many units, they are all similar with different electronics in and this unit is just a little smaller than some others. Otherwise a very good machine
I chose this machine as an ex-barista who wanted a good quality machine that my boyfriend (who has no barista experience) could get on well with too. I’m really happy with my choice. Both of us are loving it, it’s easy and suitable for home use but with the manual feel I wanted. Would recommend!
Oh my!!!! What a beautiful machine. The unboxing gave me goose bumps. Super easy to use, looks amazing. Creates gorgeous coffee. My concern was that with past machines, it tasted like hose pipe water, but not this… Think Costa and multiply by 1000. Proper Barista coffee at home.
great for beginne
eally nice to have, and better quality of life.
the coffee overall is nice.
few things:
– the build quality feels cheap, i expected better
– if water is not enough while dropping the cofee, the machine stops and you have to do from start, you can’t resume the current progress.
– hard to see water level as it’s on the back and usually you’ll put the machine back to the wall
I bought this machine in November 2025 for my husband’s 30th birthday. Neither of us have ever used a bean to cup machine before now.
But we LOVE this machine. It’s such a good beginner (at home) coffee machine and I felt it was a great price and worth the money. Once you get the knack of the buttons for how you like it, it’s easy.
I especially love the milk frother wand – literally make it as if you have cream on top of your latte! The milk jug that comes with it, is perfect – though we did also buy another larger one so I can do x2 lattes at one time. The heat level for is perfect with no issues there.
We like that the machine tells you when it needs a deep clean/descale (we watched a YouTube video). Since having it the past 3 months and using it near enough every day, we have only had to deep clean once.
We love the retro feel of the machine and how it looks – we get compliments all the time for it!
I spent ages looking at different coffee machines, and eventually came to purchase this one. Some of the other brands are over complicated and too many fancy options/buttons when at the end of the day it just makes coffee, which this machine does perfectly
Makes such smooth and fresh coffee compared to buying at your Costa or Starbuck. Once you get the grind size and dosage right for how you like it, you’ll get consistent barista quality coffee at home, and it takes about 2 minutes.
The milk steam wand is a nice touch, as long as you kind of know what you’re doing and know the difference between latte & cappuccino milk you’ll get great coffee every time. My only gripe with the wand is it doesn’t pull out too far from the machine so can be a little awkward depending on what size milk jug you’re using. (I bought a 600ML jug compared to the 300ML mug it comes with, as it makes it a lot easier to steam milk without worrying about spilling)
The dosage and tamper aids are great, allows you to get your coffee grinds neat and flat every time which is idealy for getting the correct pressure.
Overall very happy with the purchase, the colour of the machine looks great and it is very user friendly, with a little trial and error.
My Sage Barista Express has been a sturdy work-horse for over 9-years but spares for the original grinder are no longer available so it was time for a new machine.
The Sage machine was superb but did have some foibles; the most annoying being how particular it was to any variation in the beans. Even the weather could alter the grind to the extent that I wasted at least 2 espressos to get the settings right again!
I decided I’d try something new and the Delonghi appeared to be a bargain, so I placed my order.
I’ve had it around a week now and have almost got used to the slightly different brew process and feel able to review.
Probably easiest if I run through the process commenting on the way.
1 – Bean Hopper – Not removable (unlike the Sage) so I tend to chuck in enough beans for a couple of cups at a time, incase there is a request for decaf etc.
2 – Grinder – Seems to grind well and consistently. Surprised to find that I’m grinding towards the coarse end of the settings 6/8 (Sage was always towards the fine end 3/16). Dosing level has lots of fine adjustment. Included Dosing & Tamping Guide keeps everything tidy. (I bought an aftermarket one for the Sage, which was really messy without it).
3 – Grouphead – feels good quality. Portafilters are narrower and deeper than on the Sage. They are shaped nicely to fit the tamper and this stops over compression of the coffee. Also have a lip which allows you to judge whether the dose level is correct. On the downside the extra depth seems to mean more friction on the puck when emptying into a knock-box and a bit of extra force is required. I find it’s better to empty straight after making coffee, whereas with the Sage I’d empty before making the next one with no issue. IGNORE WHAT THE DELONGHI SPEC SAYS – THE PORTAFILTERS ARE SINGLE SKIN NON-PRESSURISED! I nearly ordered aftermarket ones after reading the spec but glad I waited until it arrived!
4 – Brewing – I always run a shot through the empty Grouphead to pre-heat and wash through before making my double-shot espresso. With the Sage this was easy and foolproof as the Grinder had a Single/Double Shot selection while there are two separate buttons for Single/Double Shot Pour. Basically leave the grinder alone and just pour a single shot through the empty portafilter. On the Delonghi the Single/Double Shot selector works both the Grinder and Pour, so I’ve now ground a single shot of coffee a number of times after warming the Grouphead. And as usual Two-Singles don’t make a Double! Lesson gradually being learnt – warm the portafilter with a double! There are three Temp Settings, I just use the hottest at the moment. I haven’t used the Long Black setting yet as I drink espresso and my wife and daughters are flat-white/cappuccino or latte drinkers.
5 – Steam Wand – not as articulated as on the Sage BUT insulated so doesn’t immediately bake-on milk to the outside of the wand when removed from the jug. Much nicer to keep clean and good pressure.
6 – Extras – extra stand to lift espresso cups closer to the Grouphead (nice feature), Rubber Grouphead & Tamper holder (works nicely), little cubby-hole on top of the machine to keep spare portafilter etc. (haven’t noticed any cup-warming effect because of this).
7 – ON/OFF Switch – a small thing but just slightly annoying! It’s hidden at the lower, back corner of the left-hand side of the machine and requires a push in to turn on and a push in to turn off. Compared to the Sage Power Button on the front panel this is a complete faff, and if you don’t turn it off and the machine goes to sleep you have to push it in to turn it off and then push it in again to turn it on, and sometimes it makes you repeat the process to punish you for not switching off after making your coffee!
OVERALL:
Compared to the Barista Express there appear to be bigger steps between each grind setting, but much more scope to fine-tune the dose. So a little bit Swings and Roundabouts.
Removable Hopper would have been nice, even better would be two-hoppers like on their Rivela B2C Machine.
Seems a lot more consistent in brewing than the Barista Express, haven’t had to change the settings much at all since the initial dialing in, even when changing from caff to de-caff beans. Seems a little odd compared to the Sage to be on the coarse side of the middle setting, and dosing at 14/40 on the scale. But I guess it’s a bit like clothing, ignore the number, if it fits and looks good, it fits and looks good. Don’t put it back because you don’t like the size number! The Coffee is Good and Repeatable.
Silly On/Off switch won’t put me off.
Recommended.
Very professional
The grinder takes while to adjust to get the right amou
Never need to buy branded coffee again!
This is my first ever bean to cup machine. I was a little uncertain whether it was worth the price, but after my first coffee from this machine I’m officially a believer! It’s been around a month now and it’s simply excellent so fa
Excellent machine
I cannot begin to tell you how impressed I am with this coffee machine. I bought it to replace another De’Longhi machine, a Magnifica that has just broken down after 8 years of being used several times a day
The build quality is absolutely superb and the whole machine and all the extra parts seem to be of very high quality. My wife loves the look of it in the kitchen too.
The instructions are very clear and easy to understand and I had the machine set up for a test cup inside 15 minutes. The test cup was just a little to weak for my taste but the second cup was just perfect.
There are adjustments on the machine to allow the finished cup to suite just about any taste.
Other reviews mentioned a tamping mat. I can’t comment on that as I don’t seem to have one but I’m not sure that it matters as tamping on the kitchen worktop doesn’t seem to have done it any harm.
At 449, the machine costs a lot of money but, when you look at the quality, I don’t think it is expensive.
There are only two things I don’t like about the machine. 1. It will only take cups up to 11 cms tall and 2. It has no water filter which means I had to buy a filter jug. However, that doesn’t detract from the quality of the machine and the coffee you can get out of it.
Unlike other reviewers, I wasn’t given this machine for free so I have no reason to give a good review. However, I have no hesitation is recommending this machine.
easey to use
value for money My partner loves it myself Jar of coffee but looks geart in kictche
Really good piece of quipme
Very professional piece of equipment. Looks smart, easy to set-up and well-presented.
Didn’t take long to installing and producing very good coffee to suit taste.
Overall, very impressed and would definitely recommend!
Coffee shop at home!
Incredible machine, create coffee shop quality coffee at home
Takes a while to get used to all the controls and settings
The best coffee machine i’ve ever had
We are impressed of the taste of coffee made by this coffee machine. We have it from november and i still can’t wait to wake up in the morning for a cup of coffee.it’s like my motivation to get up in the morning.at the beginning it was a little hard to use it because I had to pay attention at the preparing steps but now i can make a coffee with my eyes closed 🙂 also all the guest i had remarked the coffee is good
This machine makes superb coffee
I really cannot say how fabulous this machine is .
I now grudge going out for a coffee , as it is nowhere near what I make at home .
after a few tries, I found it easy to use . Read the instructions and you just follow along the front of the machine and perform each function .
It is not the cheapest thing I’ve bought , but worth every single penny .
I love it .
Enormously impressive
The De’Longhi La Specialista Arte, Bean to Cup Espresso Coffee Machine is an enormously impressive piece of kit. Beginning with the care taken over the packaging, the thought given to accessories and ergonomics, the skill shown in its aesthetic appeal, it is immediately clear to the purchaser that this machine is something very special indeed.
I have long desired my own coffee making machine but have been unable to make a decision before now. This machine has everything which is to be desired — and as a bonus — it is not difficult to set up and use. One of the best things is that clear and simple instructions are included for the beginner.
The barista can choose from a number of different temperatures to create the ideal coffee. There is included a mess free dosing and tamping kit which removes a lot of worry. There are three pre-set menus but there is also the facility to customise the coffee making process. There is even a water descaling function for hard water areas. You can make every type of coffee from espresso to latte, often at the same time. You can use the hot water facility to make tea. Parts are easily cleaned and a dishwasher can be used.
On the other hand, the only drawbacks I have experienced are the noise level which is quite high and the size — it is not huge but will require its own space. Oh yes, and I suppose the price, but you are paying for quality.
Most impressive is the attention to detail, all the extras which are designed to simplify the coffee making process and to maintain the machine in prime working order. Excellent in every way.
Makes me smile every morning
Thanks to this fantastic De’Longhi La Specialista Arte Coffee Machine, I have a big smile every morning when I make my coffee, I feel luxury now and the coffee is just amazing.
I am a person that really loves coffee and this machine is spectacular in my opinion, is well made, elegant and is the same as the expensive coffee places but in my own kitchen.
The coffee machine has an integrated grinder with a good capacity, you just need to leave the coffee beans there and close the tap, you need to adjust the setting of the grinder you can choose from 8 different, I think every person like there own one, so I just tried all until I choose one.
You need to add the water into the tank, the capacity is 2.5L is really good, and I filter the water with my jug before placing it into the tank, but they come with useful antilimescales.
The coffee machine has a lot of features, you can choose the temperature, you can choose 1 or 2 cups, and from expresso or long coffee, you can make 2 expresso or just 1 long coffee at the same time. Or just hot water for tea, this is a “time saver” and I don’t need to use the kettle.
I love the “My LatteArt system” that is easy and simple to reheat the milk and get the perfect milk foam.
I have at home, the little grinder to grind my coffee, a few different coffee makers, and the foam milk machine, I know this coffee machine takes space, but now I have it all in 1 and I don’t need the rest, at the end I safe space at home, and this new coffee machine is faster but is a bit noisy too, the sound is louder than I expected.
The quality is really good and works incredibly well. I totally recommend this fantastic coffee machine.
It makes you feel like a Barista !
This is the best coffee machine ever. Not only does it make the perfect cup of coffee but it also looks so classy in my kitchen. It has 3 temperature settings. The grinder has 8 settings and comes with a barista kit. It has “my latte art system” and you can create the perfect milk textures. There are 2 one touch recipes – Americano and Expresso and hot water outlet. It can accommodate all my mugs and cups (up to 11cm) and has a built in expresso cup support. This machine is truly amazing in every way – I get excited every day to make my fist cuppa. Its top quality and super stylish. I am obsessed !
5 stars
This machine produces the best tasting coffee i have ever had, and in my own home too.
i love it so much!
5 stars and highly recommended.
I really liked freshly brewed coffee but didn’t fancy the coffee pods so much so I thought to try this one. This ‘De’Longhi La Specialista Arte, Bean to Cup Espresso Coffee Machine’ really makes barista-style coffee.
It’s a great piece of machine and you get that feeling by just unboxing it. It is well made and has lots of extra bits. The machine feels a bit complex and for someone like me who hasn’t used a proper coffee machine like this it felt a bit daunting but the instructions provided were very clear and spot on. I quickly got the hang of it and with a few trials, I was making a pretty good cup of coffee that even my tea lover husband liked.
This machine has a lot of different options that let you explore your inner coffee barista. It has settings for different grinds, dose level, temperature and a selector dial to choose between single or double espresso, long black or the convenience of hot water. It has active temperature control for that ‘perfect brew’ and it constantly maintains the brewing temperature for the perfect extraction. You have 3 different temperature profile settings that are tailored to different bean blends and roasting levels. The 2 different heating systems ensure that the coffee and milk can be prepared one after the other with no waiting time in between.
It took me some trial and error to get to the perfect cup of my liking but it is so well worth the effort. I really enjoyed experiencing the different settings and combinations and this is still an ongoing process that I am looking forward to.
The La specialista arte comes with all the tools to get the perfect coffee extraction like the mess-free dosing and tamping guide and professional barista tools like the metal tamper, tamping mat and stainless steel milk jug for superior and consistent results. It also has a water hardness test kit, descaling kit and recaulking kit provided. Not only does it includes lots of exceptional quality accessories, but it is also designed in such a way that someone like me who has zero experience in making barista-style coffees can follow the quick guide booklet. In addition, they have also placed the controls in a simple to use sequence from left to right following the stages of the beverage creation so I was making good quality lattes in no time at all.
The only thing I did struggle with and am still practising is the operation of the steamer to froth up the milk. So far, for me, it has been sometimes successful and sometimes not so successful attempts but I am sure I will get the hang of it soon.
To sum it up, this is a great piece of machine for coffee lovers and if you are looking to step up your coffee game this will be a game-changer for you. It is on the expensive side and takes up a bit of space in your kitchen but the quality of coffee you get in the end makes it worthwhile.
This makes amazing coffee.
This coffee machine arrived in a really big box with lots of packaging inside to protect the coffee machine from damage. When I first removed this from the box I was worried it would be complicated to use, but after using it a couple of times it becomes really easy.
I have had many coffee machines in the last couple of years, but I always end up giving them away, but not with this one I absolutely love it it really does make the best coffee, this machine has lots of different settings so you can make the coffee just how you like it
There are lots of step by step instructions inside of the box showing you how to set it all up and how to use the machine itself.
Overall this machine might seem expensive, but it is very well made and really does make the best coffee ever so I am happy to recommend this coffee machine
Fabulous coffee machine ☕️
As a former barista I was very excited to review this De’Longhi La Specialista Arte coffee machine. I was not disappointed, this is a quality bean-to-cup machine, perfect for beginners or more experienced users.
The machine arrived very well packaged, every single bit was well protected.
The assembly is really easy, you just need to put all the parts together, plug it in, add water and beans and you’re good to go.
The machine is very easy to use, there’s a button for every function, pretty self explanatory, you can’t really mess it up The manual included is very well written, if you have any issues I’m sure you’ll be able to find a solution there.
*Please bear in mind the thermometer and the tamping mat included in my video were not included in the set*
It’s very easy to get a hang of grind and dose, depending on the beans the manual will guide you what setting to use for what type of roast. I’d recommend to put a portion of beans at a time in the hopper to keep the coffee as fresh as possible.
You can extract either one or two shots of espresso or go for a long black coffee.
To steam the milk you just simply press the button. Be mindful to purge the steam arm before and after use to prevent any milk buildup.
The design is very sleek, the machine looks beautiful. It should fit on most countertops.
The machine has a small compartment on top for storage.
Accessories include milk jug, shot handle, shot attachments, de-scaler and cleaner, cleaner brush.
Overall this is a fantastic barista machine, especially for beginners, but also for more experienced users. It makes great coffee, it takes no time to learn how to properly set it up. Very easy to use and maintain and well worth the price. I highly, highly recommend i
A more in-depth review of my experience using the coffee maker is below. For a quick Pros & Cons see next paragraph, thanks.
Pros:
Simple Process to use
Fabulous build quality
Coffee making factory all in one
Quick Start Guide To get up and running
Excellent support via Youtube video tutorials
Versatile to make different coffees
Milk steamer for latte’s
Very practical for cleaning
Water tank can be removed for washing
Drip tray assembly can be removed for washing
Water tank has a hinged lid for easy refilling with cup/jug etc
Parts can be washed in dishwasher
Hot water on-tap to make teas
Really well packaged
Cons:
Noisy (wouldn’t want to try and use it to make a coffee in the middle of the night wake the whole house up!)
Very large will dominate a small kitchen
Fairly heavy
Stainless steel finish loves fingerprints!
Can be a lot of washing so but best to have everything filled up and then only tamper etc need washing
High price tag!
This arrived in a large box which was really nicely presented and carefully packaged to prevent any damage. It also weighs 12.5 Kgs!
As well as providing all the necessary components for creating coffees i.e dosing tool, 2 x dosing cups (single/double), tamping tool, (with rubber stand), milk jug etc there is also a water hardness test kit , descaling kit and decaulking kit provided.
I am really impressed as to how meticulously the components fitted together and the quality. The attention to detail of finish, packaging and presentation is first class ( Components// Youtube videos/ Product box/user manual etc).
Once I had tested the hardness I was able to adjust the water hardness by going through the settings process following the instructions by holding down two relevant buttons in sequence .
There are 8 grind settings, I set mine to number 1 (fine) but there are options to leave the grains fairly coarse. I set my dosing to 10 although it can be adjusted up to 40. I like fairly mellow coffee and following the instructions I set the brewing temperature to full-on (3 lights)
I’ve had the opportunity to use the machine for about three weeks now and despite looking complicated it’s very user-friendly to use and really intuitive, an absolute joy to use and I have to say.
Despite zero experience of making barista style coffees by using the quick guide booklet and De-Longhi YouTube tutorial videos I was able to produce exceptionally good “long black”and “lattes” which in my opinion ( and those of my family) were every bit as good as I/they would’ve gotten at my local well-known coffee outlet.
I think the reason I found it very simple to use is the controls are virtually in sequence from left to right following the stages of the beverage creation. ( I guess that’s a thumbs-up to the designers ). I was basically up and running in no time at all.
I must confess was a little confused at first as to how to activate the grinder. I thought the dosing tool had to be slotted into the dispensing slot but I actually just needed to angle it down into it slightly then push against the back of the slot which is spring loaded and the grinder started work. It was then just a matter of using pressure on and off until enough grinds was in the dosing cup to go then onto the next stage.
I found just taking my time to grind just the right amount of beans into the dosing tool, tamping lightly and twisting was key to a successful brew. The dispensing and soaking process worked fine.
I tend to use a mug and tended not to use the provided cup support which is more for expresso style cups.
After the soaking process I just filled the milk jug half way up and was able to operate the steamer to froth up the milk.
I followed the tutorial advice of just touching my little finger on the outside of the jug momentarily whilst steaming until I could feel the jug/milk was hot enough. Pouring slowly I was able to make a perfect latte for myself over and over again.
I’ve also used the hot water for making cups of tea. It heats up far quicker than our kettle so boiling water is virtually on tap.
In regards the cleaning up. The way everything comes apart for washing and cleaning like the drip tray assembly water tank is exceptional. We don’t have a dishwasher but apparently all the removable parts including the water tank are dishwasher safe .
Now it trades pride of place in the kitchen each time I go into the kitchen the smell of freshly ground coffee permeates and prompts me to make another brew!
In summary: It’s not cheap, in fact its an awful lot of money (so loses a star on that basis) but that doesn’t detract from the fact that it is a solidly made and a beautifully crafted machine .
As stated I found it a cinch to use and with absolutely no experience I was creating extremely tasty coffees in no time at all. Hopefully it will give us many years of service. We absolutely love it!
Make outstanding coffee at home
This is a high-end premium coffee machine suitable for a variety of coffee beans. The build quality is outstanding, with a premium metallic silver finish and will stand out in any modern kitchen. This De’Longhi coffee machine is suitable for making a variety of coffee-based drinks, including black, flat white, americano, cappuccino and mocha. The item came well packaged and boxed and was quick and easy to setup, however was quite heavy at nearly 14kg.
Pros
* The machine offers a very fine and smooth roast though its very fine grinding. I have used it to produce some of the tastiest and most intense coffees I’ve ever had, which are almost identical to professional barista blends. The personalisation offered by this machine is remarkable, as you can select the amount of coffee grounds, the water level and coffee temperature.
* In comparison to pod based machines, the cost per coffee is much cheaper as coffee beans are significantly cheaper than pods. Although the initial outlay is quite high, over an extended time period with frequent usage it is a suitable investment.
Cons
* The machine does not have any internal milk storage options and due to this some milk-based drinks (such as a flat white) will require milk to be stored nearby. This does mean this machine may need to be placed near a kitchen or mini fridge.
Overall, I would highly recommend this machine to any coffee lover, due to the quality of coffee it is able to produce. Although the initial outlay may be higher than other machines, the coffee produced justifies the initial investment. This machine will save time and money in comparison to going to a coffee establishment, and allow you to enjoy premium coffee drinks fresh at any location or time.
Amazing coffee, easy to use
This is an absolutely amazing coffee machine. I cannot fault it in any way. It comes in a huge box, and everything is packaged well to prevent damage.
When I began to inbox it I was slightly concerned that it would be difficult to use. There were lots of parts, and lots of levers and buttons. I did not need to be worried. There are instructions that tell you what each part is and where it goes. It is mainly the accessories that you need to assemble. The main machine comes mostly intact.
There is another booklet that has step by step instructions with photos that show you how to firstly start up the coffee machine and do a cleaning cycle. It is very easy to follow.
The step by step photo instructions show you where to put the beans, how to grind the beans, tamp the coffee and then brew it. It also explains how to adjust the settings according to the type of beans you are using, how strong you like the coffee and whether or not you want to have a single or double size coffee. The instructions are very precise and easy to follow. Even if you are not familiar with this type of machine the instructions make it easy to use.
Once you have set up the machine it is quick and easy to use. It takes a couple of minutes from putting in the coffee beans to having a cup of coffee. You can adjust the settings to each person’s preferences and to the type of coffee beans that you are using.
There are espresso glasses in the photograph, but it doesn’t actually come with them. There is a small removable shelf that you can put espresso cups or glasses onto. This machine is also high enough that without the shelf, you can fit a normal sized mug or cup. This enables you to easily make Americano coffee and lattes in the cup that you would normally use. There is also a hot water setting so that you can top up your Americano.
This machine comes with a small jug to enable you to steam/froth milk. There are clear instructions on how to do this, as well as links to online videos that show you how to perfect lattes and cappuccinos. The steam arm has a bendy joint which makes it easy to manoeuvre the jug.
The coffee that it makes is smooth and tastes delicious. It took a couple of small tweaks to get the coffee to my ideal strength, but within a couple of uses I am now making Barista quality coffee.
This machine is expensive, but it is extremely well made, high quality and sturdy. It doesn’t feel like it would be easy to accidentally break it. It looks stylish and professional. I much prefer the coffee that you get from this machine to the coffee that comes in capsules.
As coffee capsules are very expensive to buy the costs can quickly add up. All you need to buy for this machine is coffee beans. They are better value than capsules and there is a wide range available. You can also tweak the coffee to your own personal tastes, which you can’t do with capsules.
I have a few bottles of flavoured coffee syrup along with some milk that I have steamed the coffee is just as good as the coffee from coffee shops.
If you like drinking real coffee then I recommend this machine. It is a good investment and makes great coffee.
Different people treat themselves with different things. A TV lover may get a massive set, a gamer could get a top end PC. Coffee lovers may just want to have their own barista quality coffee maker in their own home. From what I can tell that is what the ‘De’Longhi La Specialista Arte, Bean to Cup Espresso Coffee Machine’ is, a mini machine similar that you would find in a top cafe.
The machine can seem complex at first, but after a few cups I was really getting the hang of things. You can tell it is an artisan piece just by the unboxing, it feels like an event. You get a treat from opening the box and revealing the bits. Everything is well made with weight and quality. The machine itself can handle the beans grinding and adding the espresso thingy. It does not wobble or look under pressure. It sits there and remains solid. Quality.
The ‘De’Longhi’ is for proper coffee fiends. It is not adding a pod and pressing a button. It is not even just adding some coffee beans and pressing a button. You get to choose the amount of coffee ground, the heat of the water etc. It takes a little tweaking to get the right taste for the coffee you have, but the taste benefits. If you change beans you will need to tweak the settings. By about four cups I was producing something that I felt tasted as good as the coffee shop.
This coffee machine means business. You get all the bits you need, plus protection from hard water and even a little step so you can lift your espresso cups higher. If you normally drink coffee that is just hot and wet, this device is not for you. It is a luxury item that is luxurious. This should be bought as a real treat for a person or family that likes to drink a few cups of high quality coffee a day. You may even start to save a little money with less visits to the barista.
Fantastic coffee machine - barista style coffee at home!
