This is a huge improvement on my whetstone as I couldn’t sharpen my knives. The bench stone is easy to use a I can get a sharp edge.

I used up the Xtra Coarse side of my original in the process of completely reshaping a 270mm yanigaba that had about three warps in it. Should have sent it back, as that was really a job for a grinding wheel. For forming a new or reshaping a damaged edge, these plates would last years.

This 10 inch benchstone is now one of my favorite tools for sharpening a blade.

I used the DMT Duo sharpening stone to sharpen our knives. It work very nicely. Amazon packaged it very well with no delivery damage.

I prefer diamond stones to natural stones. The diamonds cut fast and stay flat. I would prefer if the stone kept the same amount of bite as it had when new, but they break in and stay that way from then on. The fine/extra fine combo is nice for maintaining an edge. Absolutely flat surface with diamonds imbedded in the surface
I have had a 8″x 2 5/8″ DMT diamond plate in fine/extra fine grits and I really like using it to sharpen my woodworking tools, however, I needed a coarser grit to sharpen a damaged plane blade. I happened onto this 10″x4″ DMT plate at a very good price at the Amazon Warehouse. I figured there wasn’t much risk in a used diamond plate, since it is nearly indestructible. A bonus was that it came with a base.
I love the 10″ plate, where you can take a longer sharpening stroke which speeds up sharpening. It cuts aggressively and evenly.

This is the second DMT I have owned, I had the last one for 15 years until it got stolen along with my tool box.
Surviving 15 years as a joiners sharpening stone is testimony to its durability. If you want a really good diamond sharpening stone that will last a life time I reckon this is the one to go for.

Stays flat. Great for lapping stones flat or getting the first edge on a chisel or plane blade. Just a little pricey, but you get what you pay for.

It was a bit hard at first to fork up the money for this diamond pad, but I'd do it again in a heartbeat. I can take horribly abused and chipped chisels and bring them back from the dead in a fraction of time of using other methods.

After using Arkansas stones and getting frustrated, this really impressed me in the way and speed it cuts through material. I bought 4 grid sizes: Extra Course, Coarse, Fine, and Extra Fine. I use it mostly for plane sharpening, and it flattened and straightened the edge in no time. I’m glad I bought the 10″. Make it so much better. Quickly sharpened my buck knife as well.
Next I’ll try some chisels that I grinded wrong on my grinder. I’m sure it will do a nice job there as well.

Before they were all dangerously dull now wonderfully sharp. WARNING this thing come with manufacturing grit on the surface of the stone, that causes it to START as medium grit. This comes off after a few (4) knives then the true grit is exposed but overall right from the package it works great.

Great for all purpose sharpening. It's my go-to stone for sharpening speedskating blades. However, you would also need to get the Green/Blue stone to achieve the final polish. Durable and consistent results. Amazon had the best price as they were on sale for a while.

Getting to like it more over time.
Previous stones blistered and shed their nickel matix in places leaving holes which led to blades catching and ripping even more out.
So far this seems to be an improvement. Price is certainly more competitive than prevously.

This is a general review for all 3 of the DMT 10-inch DuoSharp stones that I purchased. (I didn’t want to write three separate reviews)
These are the most excellent knife sharpening stones I have ever used. For the Coarse/Extra Coarse they cut through metal quickly and with very little pressure. Can profile a butter knife in less than 5 minutes.
For the Fine/Extra Fine it is no problem to polish the edge to razor sharp. Again, very little effort.
As to durability, well lets just say I have sharpened over 100 knifes, including an axe, a small sword, and a few exotic/specialty knifes and I don’t see any signs of wear at all.
I bought the black plastic holder for each stone (3) to minimize the risk of dropping/breaking the stones. For some of the larger knifes it is actually easier to clamp the knife/sword/axe down and hold the DMT stone and holder in the hand. I follow up with a leather strop for final polish, and the edges are hair popping sharp.

It is easy to use and quick to get your knives to be sharpened. With the non slip holder this will be a life safer for your regular knife sharpening 🙂

My knives have never been sharper and they feel like brand new tools aince putting on new microbevels. Although its easy to find the right angle Id suggest not starting w your fav blade. There is a bit of a learning curve. The larger size is great for axes and other large garden tools. In fact this makes me want to take the mower blades off and get them razor sharp!

MONSTER real estate to sharpen my survival knife's A++ as only DMT can deliver. (Avoid Smith products at all cost) I can finally shave with my Buckmaster 184...which is no easy task with a blade over 1/4" thick..

Use this bad boy when needing to do final hone on most of my wood working tools. Great value in that I have had their products last over 10 years and then the body goes down to a finer grit so you are getting closer to the 1200 to 3000 grit water stones. Always with me when I need to do serious sharpening.

Great product. Its main use is to flatten my waterstones which I still use to sharpen plane blades instead of using my electric sharpeners. Sometimes the manual way is the best way. This two sided diamond bench stone has a large surface area making it easy to use on the waterstones. Cleans off easily. Stores snuggly taking up little space. You can use it to sharpen tool blades that are nicked and worn, too, but I prefer to save this for the flattening jobs.
Great product. Its main use is to flatten my waterstones which I still use to sharpen plane blades instead of using my electric sharpeners. Sometimes the manual way is the best way. This two sided diamond bench stone has a large surface area making it easy to use on the waterstones. Cleans off easily. Stores snuggly taking up little space. You can use it to sharpen tool blades that are nicked and worn, too, but I prefer to save this for the flattening jobs.

I have several small DMT stones that I used for a number of years and been pleased with all of them. These seem to be expensive and I debated with myself over that, but figured I could send them back. I ended up extremely pleased with my investment and it has exceeded my expectations every time I've used it. I also purchased DMT's mount for the stone which can also be used as a handle and am just as pleased with it.
