Cut off the rubber ring as it rides down the lead and chokes the dog. Otherwise the lead is fine.

Yes I recommend. I have an American bulldog who is hefty and pulls. This is a lovely lead, better than her chain, soft around her neck, strong and nice to hold.
Good lead, bit slippy
This is a great lead, extra length and springy and comfortable to use. The rubber toggle stays in place. Found the material a little difficult to grapple if gloves on or dry hands and slips though if dog pulls on occasion.

We are provided some, which range from 6-8 feet long, but I find them too long for general shelter work. 4ft leads are better to keep the dogs right next to you while walking down the hallways, without wrapping the lead around your hand 10+ times. I love that the lead has a rubber lock on it, to prevent the lead from loosening (which it does naturally if not locked in place). The fact that it will loosen on it's own is good if you work with hand-shy dogs, and the lock actually works, for the escape artist dogs. I was a little surprised by the elasticity in the lead- it has about 1-2 inches of give in it, when a dog starts pulling, which can help to alleviate the "jerk" results on your hand and arm. These are perfect for anyone needing a simple, basic slip lead that locks in place. I highly recommend! It is very durable too! It has survived heavy pullers and held up to leash biters/chewers as well!

No pulling
Absolutely amazing. My 6 month old pup is a nightmare for pulling. I’ve tried a lot of harnesses and even tried a Halti, with terrible results.
From the first use of this lead she instantly stopped pulling and became much more obedient.

My partner prefers this lead due to its shorter length & our dog does walk better with this on for him, he’s a big 10.5 month Doberman who wants to investigate everything he sees & just wants to play constantly.. definitely a great purchase for us, we’ve tried loads. But nothing compares to these leads.

Extremely strong lead
I bought this lead for my daughters cocker spaniel puppy at around 8 months old, he is a very strong and excitable dog, now over 1 years old. He was pulling all the time when going for walks so after a lot of research I decided to buy this slip lead, it is extremely strong but also feels soft for the dog and has a good hand hold. He does pull at times but has really improved since having it, so I can recommend this lead for boisterous dogs and also really like this small but very good company.

Best out of several slip leads I've bough
I’ve got a very large Bernese Mountain Dog puppy and this lead is fantastic for him. We had a previous slip lead form a local pet shop but it was very rough rope so if it slipped through your hands or you needed to pull on it to restrain the dog it gave you friction burn, but this lead is MUCH smoother and more pliable. The plastic toggle to stop the lead loosening is great too, it’s a nice big round rubber piece that’s a tight fit and big enough that it won’t go through the slip ring and cause issues.
It’s around 1.5m long and even around a large BMD neck it’s a great length for handling.

This is really good, my Labrador retriever tends to pull when seeing other dogs across the road or cats in front etc and this lead has been very helpful in helping to prevent/stop this. It’s comfortable to hold compared to the normal lead, I would definitely recommend.

This is really nice soft lead nice to hold good for giving correction to your dog make sure you have it up behind the dogs ears to prevent choking and to have full control taken 15 minutes to get my husky to listen to my commands and she is a very strong puller on a flat collar 100% recommended with the right training a use of lead

I love this lead! I was originally bestirs this about purchasing this as I wasn’t keen on the slip lead format. However, this is easy to hold and doesn’t hurt my hands at all, unlike the other rope type slips leads, as the material is smooth; but this is strong enough to restrain a 30 plus KG German shepherd.

Ok lead, my only niggle is the part which you adjust to keep hold of how much slack you want on the lead, it’s a small rubber disc (usually leather) which my pup bit straight through immediately (it’s functional but hanging off). For this reason I did purchase another lead and interchange using The two depending upon training And the kind of walk as this is slightly shorter and allows for good “heel” work.

Nice lead easy to use the plastic stopper is very secure, and love the colour. Only slight negative for me is the length is slightly too long and the rope could be a bit thicker.

The rubber slip holds the loop nicely and I can twist the lead over his nose when i need to (like a halty).
This lead is very soft and comfortable to hold and I would suggest comfortable for the dog, I used to get rope burn off my last lead. The rubber stopper could do with being a slightly tighter fit as when the lead stretches it moves quite freely and you can suddenly find it is very loose around your dogs neck.
As with any slip lead it is easy to use but make sure you put it on the right way round so that it can release when the dogs is walking nicely.
Slightly more expensive than other leads I’ve had but then I guess you get what you pay for. My only complaint is that it is a bit long, I’m 5’6″ and end up with a big loop of it doubled up in my hand when the dog is walking to heel otherwise we could both do skipping with it, this is compounded by the stretchiness of the lead.
If you are vertically challenged, then I would opt for a shorter lead.
Otherwise a very good lead.

Its light but very well made…its good to pop on nothing to fasten….suits our flat coat.
With my staffy being a rescue animal lead trained he was not but with the Dog and Field slip lead we started to train him round the garden with the help of chocolate buttons after one week he is walking well just the odd mistake but the lead is soft and is easy to use he does not mind it now so a couple more weeks and out to road and footway training very nice product well made and not too short and received quickly and well packaged

Bought for our 7 mths old Labrador to try and help with heel training. I found it helps but only had it a few days so training ongoing. My husband thinks it’s unkind, but she has to learn before she pulls us over!! It is nice and soft on your hands which is a definite plus.
Strong comfortable lead
This lead is a good length and is just what I needed to stop my Labrador slipping her collar. It hangs loosely as we walk but if she tries to run at something she can’t slip out.

We bought this leash for our American Bulldog, as it was recommended by the dog behaviorist the leash is soft, very light and strong. If used correctly and you are consistent with your dogs training it really works! (At least it is working with for us).

I bought four over the last couple of years for my Springer Spaniel ( they haven’t worn out, I just like to have close to hand). This seems a very well made product. I am trying out a variety of harnesses and leads with my puppy to see what type he walks best on and what is best for a variety of activities. He has slipped his collar twice and I have been told he will not be able to do the same with this type of lead. So far I am very pleased with this lead,it seems very well made and tough without being harsh or hard round my puppy’s neck. Hopefully hard wearing too

The lead is well made with a small amount of stretch and the rope material is quite soft. The disc which stops the lead being too loose is tight and made of plastic so will not soften after time which is a common issue with type of lead. The lead is fairly long but again this provides more flexibility in terms of walking either with the lead across the body or looped. A quality feel to the product.

I’ve got a 4-5 month old border collie.. I only take him out for 10-15mins in the morning and afternoon and he’s normally going nuts as he is a pup.. but this morning is my second with him on a slip lead and the difference is amazing.. It wouldn’t stay behind the ears as it’s ment to but he didn’t seem to be getting choked and he stop trying to run off constantly.. definitely recommend it!
