Does exactly what it says and removes condensatio
Bought this dehumidifier to replace one from BandQ that couldn’t operate below 5 deg
Using it in an awning attached to a caravan to deal with condensation. Awning is dry now with no condensation regardless of the outside temperature. Worked well even when external temperatures are below freezing.
Easy to empty and variable settings. Switches off automatically when the water container is full.
Does everything promised in the tech spec.
Very quick or very quiet, but not both at the same time!
On the normal mode this extracts a lot of water in a short amount of time, but the fan is quite noisy. In Eco mode this is quiet enough you could sleep in the same room with no issues, but the water extraction rate goes down to less than half.
All in all a great little machine that does exactly what it says it will!
Good compact dehumidifier 7L
Does well on the landing of our 1930s semi-detached house between two rooms and the bathroom. We put it on the lowest setting for a few hours each morning and it gets around half full. I have asthma and normally get a bad chest but the air is better with the dehumidifier. I would suggest that once you turn it off you wait a few minutes for it to finish draining – if you take the reservoir out straight away a bit of water can get on the carpet. Easy to carry around with the handle and quite light too.

Fantastic
I have a conservatory which can get some humidity and/or condensation depending on the time of the year. Well, not anymore! If the weather is relatively humid or for whichever reason there’s a lot of moisture in there, I turn the dehumidifier on for approx. 2 hours every week and it has been keeping humidity levels at bay. A fantastic product, compact, manoeuvrable and very simple to use. My only gripe and suggestion for improvement is if the unit could also remember how long to run for. This is the only setting which doesn’t seem to remain recorded in the unit, meaning every time I turn it on I also have to remember to set it the countdown for 2 hours.

Worth the Money
It is quiet compared to others on the market and does exactly what is says. I have a cold area in my house and it works a treat. I already recommended it to my niece, which she bought and is extremely pleased, too. She has it in a cottage, on constant drain, as because of Covid she has not been able to go very often.
Quiet and powerful...
If I had any complaint it would be that, in the small room I’m using it in… even with the switch set to “Economy”, when the dial set to “high”, it can take the humidity well below 35% before cutting off. I would advise getting a humidity meter so you can adjust it as required.
I highly recommend using the included hose and position the unit so you can have a continuous drain if at all possible.. otherwise, in a damp environment it can quite happily fill the 2 litre water tank in a few hours!
Does what it's designed to do!
I spent some time researching dehumidifier’s as I wanted one for my garage to remove any moisture to prevent rust appearing on my Westfield Sports Car, I have to say I am extremely pleased with this dehumidifier, within the first 1 hr it had already drawn approx 1 ltr of moisture which was surprising as the garage is already very well insulated with no water leaks under the main door, so for this amount of moisture to be removed is great. Noise level isnt a worry as it’s in a garage, it may seem a little noisy if in house though. At the time of writing this the outside temp has been down to -6 but it has carried on functioning with no issues (I know the temp in garage will be a lot higher than this) and it produces a little heat also. All in all the garage feels warm and dry and the dehumidifier is doing its job well.
Easy to use & effective.
I got this to use in the spare room where most drying of washing happens in the winter. Had been getting some marks on the ceiling so thought I would try this. Very pleased so far, seems well made and very easy to use. Small enough to handle easily but powerful enough to really capture the water in the room. I just pop it on when a fresh batch of washing goes in and it whirrs away quietly for a few hours, inaudible in adjacent bedrooms even at night. Next thing you know you are emptying a litre of water away (could use it in the iron as it is distilled!).

Very good choise of mine on EcoAir DD1 Classic MK5
Read a few reviews from other dehumidifier her people complaint on how difficult to empty the water tank
How noise it is watching TV and have the dehumidifier on to noise.
NO NOT THIS ONE EcoAir DD1 Classic MK5 on economy is very low noise, the water tank very easy to empty yes is small so as the EcoAir unit but it can be moved from room to room very very easy, simple start and set 2,4,6, hours
And 3 settings for drain water, 2 speed for clothes drying, very simple to use
Yes small unit for the price but what can do is very good
VERY VERY HAPPY with it
Now wend I look to EcoAir DD1 Classic MK5 I don’t see the price I see how good it is

Why did I not purchase sooner!
After 8 years of a mouldy conservatory, I decided to research how to reduce this, after further research I decided to buy this unit.
I pop it on every night before heading to bed and by morning the unit is full of water. I also bought a damp meter and it goes from around 85% at night to 55% in the morning, the conservatory is now mould free and smells really fresh too, no smell of damp. it has been worth every penny so far and Ive only had it a week. My conservatory is around 23sq f

Everything now feels dry.
I’ve had this machine about 3 years now and boy has this made a difference, After suffering from damp issues for a while I decided to invest in a dehumidifier. This machine works wonders, my carpets and bedding used to feel almost damp especially in the winter when all the windows are closed and with the family showering all that steam has to go somewhere. I’m amazed at the amount of water pulled from the air and how fast the reservoir seems to fill, It’s also economical to run! As stated I’ve had this a while now and have had no problems with it. Everything now feels dry to the touch. I can’t be happier.
Great customer service
The item arrived on Monday. I plugged it in, switched it on, and it made a really irritating buzzing noise. I contacted the company and they agreed to exchange it immediately.
The replacement arrived on Tuesday, and the courier also collected the original item. I decided to leave the new one a couple of hours to settle before switching it on. It works perfectly and is very quiet.
I have no idea how energy efficient it is as I don’t have a smart meter.
High End Product. Keeps room free of condensation.
Everything about this product is quality. It’s design is sleek and unobtrusive. We use it in the tv room on eco mode and cannot hear it running when tv is on. I highly recommend the Eco Air. We have very large widows and sliding patio door and the unit removes all condensation. I set temperature and forget about it the unit takes care of humidity levels, turns on and off when needed, stops automatically when full. When water is removed from unit, I turn it back on and that’s that. This unit has made all the difference between a damp room with wet windows and a room that is fresh and healthy. Eco Air also runs a little heat when needed to speed up process of removing condensation. AAA+ Highly recommended.
Wow!
Wow. Just wow! I wish I had bought one of these years ago. I will need to update this review if anything goes wrong, but so far I am very impressed.
We have no extractor fan in the kitchen or bathroom, and some of the double glazed windows are now old, with no in-built ventilation. In the Summer it’s fine, but during the Winter we have issues. In the mornings our older double-glazed windows are streaming with water on cold days. The sills and wall areas around the windows get mouldy and I am forever bleaching them. Also, weird fluffy mould patches appear on the wall-paper along the top of the outside wall in our bedroom, and black mould in random places like behind the fridge and TV table.
I turned this humidifier on for two hours on full blast on the first evening and it collected a quarter of a tank of water. Then I ran it during the following daytime on the Economy setting and it collected a full tank of water. No condensation on the windows in the mornings! It’s easy to carry around, so I’m putting it in the kitchen when I cook dinner, and on the landing when I take a shower and in the mornings due to the condensation caused by the family sleeping.
When I have it on in the kitchen during cooking, the windows are completely steam-free. This has never happened before. It does make a sound, that sounds like air rushing out. However, it’s a constant (not variable) noise that would be easy to get used to, or ignore. It’s worth it for the difference it makes to our humidity issue. I’m quite excited that this may fix an issue that has been causing stress for me. Hopefully no more mould! Fingers crossed it keeps working OK.
Nice Piece of Equipme
Looks as good as a dehumidifier can, has nice feel, reservoir easy to remove and empty, simple to use. Makes roughly the noise of a table mounted electric fan – can just hear it while in bed if left on in downstairs hall, but not enough to wake us. Seems to work well, removing enough moisture to keep humidity at acceptable level (we have a medium sized 1920’s house without cavity wall). If you have serious humidity problems or a big house, you’d need 2 of these, or the compressor type dehumidifier which is a lot more money and makes a lot more noise.
A good dehumidifier.
Seems to be a great little machine, I bought it to get rid of damp in the garage so wanted a dehumidifier that could withstand very cold temperatures, although it will be a long process it seems to work quite well. I haven’t checked to see how much electricity it uses. Not quite sure how to empty the water container so I just tip it up there’s probably a better way. Arrived exactly on time no problem with the supplier.
I bought this dehumidifier as I live in a static caravan and every winter I have serious condensation problems. Last year I had to replace all my net curtains as they were covered in black mould which was unsightly and unhygienic. This dehumidifier was delivered on time and is a nice looking unit which is compact and easy to move with the built-in handle. This is a desiccant dehumidifier ( as opposed to a compressor type) which means it can operate at lower temperatures and has an operating range between +1C and 40C. The control buttons are easy to understand and use. When I received this unit the relative humidity indoors was between 75 – 80%. After 2 days use on the automatic setting it had dropped to an acceptable 50 – 60% and the dehumidifier had removed 8 litres (almost 2 gallons) of water from the air. I now only use it for a few hours a day on a low setting to maintain this lower percentage. The fan is quiet on the low setting and slightly noisier on the high setting, about the same as a normal domestic fan. This has a laundry setting which enables you to dry a load of washing in 4 hours and means I can save money as I no longer have to use the tumble dryer. It also has an ioniser which purifies the air blown out of fan. The water tank is easy to remove and empty and the air filter is easy to remove and clean. The machine cuts out when the water tank is full and restarts once the tank has been emptied. The machine does emit a slight smell for the first couple of days but this is normal and soon goes away. I highly recommend this dehumidifie

Bought this as a replacement for a larger EcoAir dehumidifier which had died after many years faithful service. We use it to dry laundry and it is very quiet, small enough to stand on the work surface in the utility room but still does a great job of drying the laundry.
We have found EcoAir dehumidifiers to be very effective and a good combination of price and quality. We have purchase 5 over the last decade – for extended family and ourselves – and they have all proved reliable and highly effective for reducing humidity levels without problems.
Why 4 stars?
Simple to move around the house, compact in comparison to other ones I have used and very silent when not at maximum power (like the option to dry clothes indoors).
I only wish it had a panel with the numerical reading of the current sensed relative humidity so I can adjust the auto mode yo a desired value to turn on and to turn off instead of a preset value. But as you can see, for its price, that was not a decisive factor for me to not buy this one.
Leaks after 7 months & again at 13 months!
Developed a leak at 7 months. Numerous emails to EcoAir with no response. Not good customer service with an unreliable product
Update July 2020
Ecoair collected the Dehumidifier and repaired it under their warranty.
Returned within 2 weeks.
Good service
Update Nov 2020
Broken again. Leaking water all over the floor. This is the second fault in 13 months.
Service first time was good but to become faulty again within 4 months. For 170 I expect a better quality product.
Don’t waste your money!
A lifesaver for those with small flats
I live in a small flat in London, no outside space, so it’s usually an absolute pain to dry clothes completely.
We bought this dehumidifier for the explicit purpose of being able to dry clothes using its warm heater setting and can honestly say that it has been a game-changer. Set it running overnight and it’ll do the job. Couldn’t recommend it more highly for that purpose.
I see that others have complained about the longevity of it – I’ve had it for around 8 months and haven’t had any issue yet, touch wood. We only run it, at most, twice a week though so are not heavy users.
If you’re in a similar situation with a small flat/apartment then it’s highly recommended, great value for money.
Very impressive produc
We have had this now for about 6 months and is used on a daily basis. Several adjustable settings allow a great many combinations for flexibility. Looks good and very quite on the lowest settings if you wish to use this at night in your bedroom we don’t, but it is possible. This product is also fitted with an ‘ioniser’ and silver filter so filtering all the circulated air. I would certainly purchase this again if needed.
Amazing Produc
This was the 2nd one of these I bought the first one leaked after 3 years daily usage during winter months. These machines are amazing and pick up ltrs and ltrs of water in our apartment everyday, our windows are free from condensation even when our heating is on. The product really stands out when you have wet clothes inside overnight there is no smell of damp or no sign of mould anywhere. If you live in an apartment or flat this machine is a must and it’s very cheap to run too.
Very quiet in the lowest setting and great at reducing the humidity in my home
I’ve only had it for a week, and this dehumidifier has already made an incredible difference to the air quality in my home and removes excess moisture excellently. The best feature for me is the low noise level – on its quietest setting it is quieter than my fridge. The timer works well, and the higher, noisier settings, bring down humidity quite quickly. I wish the cord was longer and that the collected water could be poured out without needing to remove the lid, but these are minor inconveniences. It’s hard to assess energy efficiency because on eco mode, I’ve read that it switches off once the room hits normal humidity levels, but the fan keeps running, so you have no way of knowing what the machine is doing. There is a competitor model which switches on and off periodically in eco mode and this must surely be more energy efficient than leaving the fan running. But for me, noise level was more important, and so I’m very happy with my choice.
Powerful little uni
This unit really does the job. Bought it to dehumidify a medium size bedroom as we have a damp problem with poor ventilation. I run it for 2 hours when I wake up with door closed and the humidity drops from ~75% to ~47-50% in about 45 minutes to keep damp at bay. The water holder is easy to empty and a red light indicates when it is full. The unit is light enough to move around the house too with a carry handle. It can be used to dry clothes also if the weather is rubbish and is very effective. I have not noticed any rise in energy bills and using the ECO setting. Highly recommend.
This worked perfectly for 3 years. On Everyday, we used it to dry out a new build, dry washing and to mange the high level of humidity in the ensuite from the shower constantly in use!
However it failed, and would not operate even though it was turned on.
I am an engineer so took it apart into a lot of pieces. The failure was a hole in the thin plastic water jacket.
the hole was the result of heat as it was brown melted on the clear plastic.
As there was nothing around it that was metal and could have burnt it, I came to conclusion that the vents which collect fluff on the filter had built up and the heat build up on the jacket raised to a level that caused the jacket material to fail.
Overall I was satisfied with the product and its performance. The failure could have been down to not cleaning the filter regular enough, which is a requirement in the instructions. The material of the water jacket was a polymer like polythene so maybe a lower melting temperature than polypropylene, but that would have increased price. The safety wasn’t compromised with the failure as it failed to operate. I was tempted to purchase the same again, but instead went for a bigger more expensive meaco one.

Super impressed with the results so far. People who are complaining about the noise level clearly don’t have a serious enough condensation problem, it could be playing the trombone for all I care as long as it stops the damp! And to be honest, unless it’s on the max setting at full power I hardly even notice it. The eco/energy saving mode is much quieter, I have it on that overnight near my bedroom and it doesn’t bother me at all.
I used it on full power for the first couple of days to sort out the worst of the damp problem, and it must have cleared at least 5-6 litres in 48 hours, I was delighted! I can finally use my conservatory again without feeling chesty. I’ve noticed a real improvement in my health so far this winter, so that’s a plus!
It’s super light and easy to carry around the house, and tipping out the water is a breeze too. Even if it only lasts me through one winter, it’s already done its money’s worth in my opinion. But it seems like a durable device, so I’m looking forward to using it throughout 2020.
As an add-on, the laundry setting as been a godsend! I don’t have a tumble dryer, and it’s cut down my rack-drying time by about a 3rd.
I bought the same one (in blue) in 2014. Our flat has bad insulation and during winter time we had a lot of condensation on windows. So I decided to give it a try. After the first night it was full of water. I couldn’t believe it. I bought another (in black) as one isn’t enough for a Flat. Now, one covers the living room/kitchen and the other one the two bedrooms/corridor.
Pros:
+quite silent
+big container for water
+adding 1 degree in the room (so I don’t leave the heating on that much in winter anymore)
+perfect to dry your clothes inside in winter
+I have the first one since 2014 and still working fine. Though I can feel he’s getting a bit tired and not sucking water as fast as the new one i bought.
Con:
– could have a setting to get the right humidity percentage.
– WiFi controllers but maybe I’m asking too much! 🙂
That’s about it really
So would definitely recommend this dehumidifie
A very effective dehydrator. Good value.
Only had it a few days but so far so good. I’ve had double glazing installed over the last year so now I don’t have draughts and as I don’t have a kitchen extractor fan and my downstairs is open plan I have been having trouble with kitchen smells which really lingered. Now using the ecoair when I cook and for a couple of hours at night has solved the problem. Air is circulating again. I really like the ioniser too. So when I come downstairs in the morning I am greeted by fresh air!
Autumn/winter must have
This dehumidifier is simply excellent. It operates quietly, you can sleep in the same room without a problem. In 24h it collects around 4 litres of water and I can really notice a difference in humidity level in our bedroom. Before the walls were wet, there was condensation on windows every morning despite double-glazing film on them. Now there is no earthy smell of mould and I can even dry laundry overnight by switching on the laundry mode. Before I was desperate every time the temperature outdoors dropped and caused severe condensation. Now I do not mind any weather as I know I have this mighty machine to hand:) I can recommend this dehumidifier to anyone who experiences similar problems to the ones I used to have. You will not regret buying this product.
This device has been great for my home and has lasted for many years. It has never failed. It collects water very well and the tray is easy to pull out and you just pour the water away down the sink and slot the drawer back in and it automatically carries on working. You can have it at half power or full power depending on how fast you want it to work. I usually have it running on half power during the winter so it is keeping the damp at bay, and I put it on full power if I am drying clothes inside on the radiators. I am going to get a second dehumidifyer so I dont have to keep carrying it between rooms, but this time I will go for a cheaper model as you can get “mini” ones for about 50 now which seem to have good reviews. I can’t fault Ecoair though and I have always been happy with this device.
Fantastic...and dry walls
I have a terrible problem with damp in an old listed building of which I have a flat, ever year I try different things to get rid of the black mould….and fail. I have only had this dehumidifier for a week & it is fantastic. The walls, window & window sill are dry, I even managed to paint them after a few days. I put it on for 2 hours every morning now & it collects so much water….I’ve even stopped wheezing at night. WORTH EVERY PENNY.
This is the fourth one of these lovely machines we have bought – not because they wear out, but because they are so good and the kids ‘borrow’ them. Quite simply – they work a treat. Not only do they clear a room of damp or condensation, but they are also a very good way of drying a batch of washed clothes. There are two basic controls – one works in the same way as a thermostat except it monitors the moisture content of the air. The other offers standard speed (just a faint hum) or a noisier “turbo” setting. Emptying the two litre tank is easy and the water, being pure, is perfect for watering plants. Every so often…say once a month…the filter needs vacuuming to get rid of lint. I don’t do that, I just bang it gently on a wall outside so that the lint drops to the floor. Add to the other advantages the fact that the machine can be carried from one floor to another pretty easily and you have the perfect dehumidifier.
Live in a new build? Got condensation? Buy this now.
I’ve only had this a week so will update my review if anything changes but… this thing has changed my life! I know that sounds overdramatic but since the weather turned cooler, I’ve been struggling to dry clothes in my two bedroom new build apartment, they were taking days to dry and smelling damp when they did. The condensation on my french doors was insane, literally dripping off the windows and door handles so I knew we needed something major to change. This might be the best money I’ve ever spent on an appliance. It’s not that noisy in my opinion but we don’t have it in our bedroom. Even if we did, I think I’d like the white noise aspect of it personally. If you’re a light sleeper I guess it might bother you. No idea what the energy efficiency is like but to be honest, for the sake of being able to dry my laundry in 4 hours instead of 4 days and have it fresh smelling and bone dry I don’t care how much it costs! Bottom line, if you live in a new build and have a condensation problem, this will solve your problem.
Wow Wow wow before and after photos with a 30min running time on the laundry function. 3/4 of tank pulled in!! You can hear it but as you can see my husband was doing a video conferencing call with 4 other people no problem!!! Best thing I’ve bought in ages. Emptied tank and started in the bedrooms 🙂
We have bought several of these over the years and use them in different rooms, one is used for drying washing over winter, the others are used in bedrooms to prevent window condensation, in an old house with sash windows. They are very effective and draw a lot of moisture out of the air, much more effective then the alternative dehumidifiers as they blow out warm air depending on the setting used so the rooms feel dry and not damp. Highly recommend.
Reliable, not too noisy and long lasting
I have had this dehumidifier for 5 yrs in October and it has performed brilliantly. It has been used in our damp cellar, for drying clothes , maintaining room humidity, and just recently for combating a leaking roof in our attic which can not be fixed for 3 weeks or so due to rain. 5yrs and still touch wood , through continuous use has NEVER failed me
Going to buy another one soon so i always have one in reserve
Not sure on elec consumption as we have a lot of electrical appliances always on the go, but not noticed much difference as late when ive had it on the go almost permanently
I give it 5 star for reliability
Lasted 3.5 years before leaking faul
Owned this dehumidifier for 3.5 years. Don’t have much to compare it to (since it was my first dehumidifier), however can say it did a decent job at removing humidity from rooms, especially in colder rooms since it’s a 7 litres/day desiccant dehumidifier. On low settings it’ll bring a room down to 55% humidity, and on high settings it’ll bring that number down to around 35%. It would achieve those numbers after several hours in a single room. An air ioniser is included, however I’m not sure what technology it uses, but it seemed to work anyway.
Unfortunately this product started leaking, slowly at first, and now rather extensively. Although a service would likely fix the issue, my current situation means I cannot be without a dehumidifier to dry laundry for more than a week, so I’ve opted to buy a new model with a different company, since it was an opportunity to grab an upgrade.
Overall, I’d say this is a competent dehumidifier, however reliability is a bit of a question mark, since mine failed after 3.5 years. Also if you want fancier features (e.g. advanced ioniser, timers, digital display), then there are probably better options out there for the price. This model is best suited for people who want to dehumidify/ioniz a room in cooler temperatures, e.g. winter time, without breaking the bank.
This is an excellent produc
I can safely say this is one of the best purchases I have ever made. With living in a house that was built in 1884 it can suffer from damp issues now and then. I have had in the passed a dehumidifier that was the compressor type. It was noisy and also very expensive to run. This by comparison is reasonably quite especially on the lower setting all dehumidifiers are by there nature noisy by the way they work but with this one I found it to be so efficient I did not need to have it on all the time. It is not the cheapest on the market but sometimes you get what you paid for and this is true in this case.
This is a fantastic unit, bought as a replacement for an older version I bought years ago for a “dripping” wet concrete double garage I use as a woodworking workshop. The old one gave several years of faultless 24×7 service in very dusty freezing conditions (In case you are wondering between condenser and desiccant types, when my old one finally died I rushed into buying a cheaper condenser type replacement which was useless outside of a heated home as it froze solid whenever temperatures fell below +/-10 degrees). This new model is easy to use, has been extracting an industrial “horse sized” bucket of water a day, worked in continuous sub zero temperatures for days this winter (2019) and took the garage from >80% humidity to 65% in a few days. Highly efficient, great product.

Reliable dehumidifier with small flaws
I have had this dehumidifier since 2015 and it still works well. I find it relatively silent, it’s lightweight and has a great compact size. It’s great for drying clothes.
There’s a few things to point out however:
– Although it does say so in the manual, it’s not my experience that the dehumidifier retracts humidity from other rooms than the one it is positioned in – there’s still a good amount of window condensation everywhere else in the flat.
– The small parts in the water tank and lid are not easy to clean and they tend to get moldy spots after some time, so it’s advised to let them dry out every now and again.
– The front side that is more exposed to daylight has turned noticeably yellow over the years, which is just not very pleasing to look at.
Overall I still think it’s a good appliance and has reliably done it’s job since 2015.
Super dehumidifier and reasonably priced
I bought this specific dehumidifier as a friend had recommended it and I must say it works very well and pretty quietly.
I haven’t had one before so can’t really compare to anything else, but we bought this to help dry out a very damp room which had been recently re-plastered and would not dry in our old/poorly insulated cottage in the wet and cold weather.
Within a day of putting the unit into the room most of the walls had visibly dried and a day later the entire walls appeared dry. We have kept the machine on for about a week now and the whole house is feeling much less damp and cold. The most marked improvement is that clothes are coming out of the wardrobe feeling dry and warm and the same can be said for our bed sheets which previously felt very cold and slightly damp every evening when getting into bed.
A number of reviews say this, but having bought this item my only regret is that I did not buy one sooner. We recently moved into an old cottage which is poorly heated and hardly insulated so it seems we have signed up to a lifetime of dehumidifiers, but with this unit being as small and quiet as it is, we are quite happy to have it working away on one of the relative humidity settings to keep our house comfortable and prevent excessive moisture in the built-in wardrobes causing damage to clothing.
If you are looking for a dehumidifier in this price bracket I would thoroughly recommend.
workhorse
We bought this model after two years of using the non-classic model every single day in an enclosed space to dry our laundry with. I don’t think it’s really designed to be used like that, but it worked really well and worked out a lot cheaper than using a tumble dryer, though after 2 years of daily use it developed a small fault. It was probably repairable, but we figured we’ll just buy a new one since the other one’s survived such heavy use and it turns out this classic model is even more suitable for drying clothes since it has a timer and economy modes. The instructions still doesn’t give me the impression that it’s made for drying clothes daily, or being put into an airing cupboard, but judging from how well the old one did just that we are just going to do the same thing again and we have been doing so for several weeks.
Have been using one of these for 3 years and it has been a godsend. I live in a small flat where the humidity level goes right up when boiling stuff on the cooker and using the shower this dehumidifier has been excellent in dealing with that excess moisture and refreshing the air in the morning using the ioniser. I sometimes leave it on the timer for 8 hours at the low setting while at work and come home to a tank with 2 litres of water in it, that’s water that could have caused damaged be getting into electronics. The tank is easy to empty and I still use the original air filter which is a doddle to clean using the hose of a hover. This unit is fantastic for the winter months when it is too cold to open the windows to let out excess moisture. I would also recommend buying a humidity meter thermometer to keep track of the humidity levels in your home.

A well described humidifier. It seems to work well and certainly removes moisture from the air, blowing out pleasantly warm dry air. I placed this unit on the upstairs landing of our 3 bedroom semi. The result is that all of the upstairs rooms significantly warmer, the heating is on its lowest setting in all rooms except the bathroom. Downstairs there is almost zero condensation except when cooking, no extractor fan in kitchen so we shut doors and open windows.
The longevity remains to be seen.
I have now had this for 4 years and it has finally began to not work as well. Very impressed as it has been running nearly the whole time, often at full high speed as I use it to dry clothes. It works very well (makes the room it’s in very warm though, a good thing for me!) And collects a lot of water. It’s never had a problem as long as I clean the fluff collector. No spillage unless I move it when it’s full or don’t push the container in the whole way. I would buy this again even if it broke today, a small price for a busy mum who needs to process a lot of washing without a dryer!
If I use it to dehumidify a room you can see a notable difference just in a few hours, just don’t expect it to do your whole house!
So we moved house from a really damp place to the basement of a Victorian building and found even in the summer we were getting slight damp and mould along the skirting board, (it was especially bad in one room where we placed it). So being really fed up of this I searched and around decided to give this dehumidifier a go and after a month the difference is already huge, the mould has stopped completely (I also bought a tumble drier to stop hanging wet clothes around too). We leave it on over night generally and it fills up by the following the morning and turns itself off. Honestly I can’t believe how much it takes, this is my first dehumidifier and I don’t think I would want to live without one now. Even going to bed sheets used to feel slightly damp but that has cleared up as well.
It’s extremely easy to use, with a dial measuring how humid you want the area to be, we have gone for around 50%. It’s easy to empty, just slide out a drawer, lift a lid, pour the water out then insert it back in. The filter at the back slides out for easy cleaning and it comes with a hande for easy transportation. It is also extremely quiet, just a slight airy humming, you will notice it if you sit in the room with it but in another room I doubt you’ll even notice it’s on. It also feels very solid, made of thick plastic and seems like good quality material from what I can tell.
One negative I guess is it does smell a bit like burning plastic when it’s on. It is suppossed to according to the manual, something to do with particles in the air and it should get better over time and it has, I don’t notice it at all now but my partner can still smell it apparently.
To conclude I was weary about spending 100+ on an item I wasn’t sure would work, might be super loud etc but I am really glad I did and so far it has more than made it’s money back preventing my furniture was being eaten alive by mould and damp.
Recommended.
+ Surprisingly quiet.
+ Effective, fills the tank over night.
+ Easy to use.
+ Seems pretty durable quality wise.
Well built, quiet not silent and no annoying beeps when reservoir is full
This Dehumidifier is great, compact and quiet. I leave it on automatic all the time and currently empty the reservoir once every two days. I live in an old single brick building so damp and condensation has been a problem. It’s so much better than the meaco I had before which lasted about 2 years before it packed up. The meaco was great initially but started to leak and began emitting a smell. I tried to fix it and noticed the motor unit had actually developed a crack in the plastic which is why it leaked!! Out of warranty so decided to try this ecoair. I’m very happy with it and if I’m honest I think it’s much better quality. I would definitely get another one of these units when this one is done.
Hesitated for a long time between this dehumidifier and more expensive models. Decided this no-frills model did everything we needed it to at a good price.
Used through the winter in our conservatory where it sucked 2l every other day while gently warming the room – even saved quite a bit on the electric bill! No more condensation in that room which has been fabulous.
Easy to empty. The small container means it’s easy to carry – my 7 yr old son loves to do it when he notices the red indicator is on.
Switches off automatically when full. No drips.
Haven’t found it too noisy – was expecting worse from reading other reviews.
I’ve also used it to dry washing and again, this has been more economical than using the tumble drier.
Very impressive!
This has been in daily use in my (once very damp) garage since I bought it 3 months ago, and it has been brilliant! It fills its (relatively small) water collection reservoir in 6-8 hours when it is damp/humid in there. All the damp problems have gone away now. This unit is MUCH quieter than the compressor based dehumidifier I have and much more effective too. I can confirm that this unit does indeed work right down to almost freezing temperatures too (the reason I had to stop using my old compressor dehumidifier). I particularly like the feature that constantly changes the output airflow angle – very useful for drying out a large room/area.
Pretty handy device
Pretty handy device. Great for winter clothes drying.
I decided to go for a Desiccant dehumidifier over a compressor dehumidifier.
The advertised stats for compressor dehumidifiers requires the environment to be at high temperatures and high humidity levels.
Whereas the advertised stats for a desiccant dehumidifier is consistent over a large range of temperatures.
Desiccant also provides you with some heating and not as heavy as those compressors.
Really surprised how much water it can draw out of the air.
I bought this two years ago, I’ve had it running consistently since. I bought it as I live in a three bed rented cottage 2 adults 2kids dog cat etc. With no extractor in kitchen or bathroom (bathroom has no external windows ether ) we had really bad condensation problems cupboards couldn’t be used as cold walls at back were constantly wet and growing mouldy same behind furniture against any outside wall. I got this and after a few weeks emptying the 2liter tank several times a day my home was dry and has stayed dry with this on 24/7 and being emptied once or twice a day since. I only looked up the purchase as the filter is getting a bit old and needs vacuum cleaned more often so looking for a new filter. Best thing I’ve bought it’s quite and has worked brilliantly
Bought this after repeatedly suffering from mold patches on the windows and ceiling of our bedroom (no doubt exacerbated by the en-suite shower). For the first 3 or 4 days it was running almost constantly and had to be emptied a couple of times a day. Now it only turns on for a few minutes every 2 or 3 hours and requires emptying every 2 or 3 days. The windows are much less likely to have condensation on them in a morning and the ceiling patches have stayed away after they were cleaned. I am really impressed by the performance of this dehumidifier and would happily recommend it to friends. The noise level, from its position about 1.5m from the foot of our bed, is very acceptable and doesn’t disturb our sleep. We have it turned to about midway on the scale for the humidity setting and it remains turned on unless we are going out all day, or going away. I don’t think it is using much electricity once it has reached the humidity level that is set.
This produce works as described. It started to absorb the dampness in the air and within a matter of minutes the tank began collecting water. It’s silent too. I’m sensitive to noise but found this bearable.
It’s important to note that if kept running throughout the day, the room started to noticably smell different. The smell was uncomfortable at first but after using the dehumidifier regularly the smell has settled and it’s no longer a problem.
This product receives 5 stars.
If you have dampness, get this!
Excellent dehumidifier. Have to empty it once every 12 hours so we know it’s doing its job. Has a 2l tank so removing 4l water a day for us. Very pleased with its performance. Has a built in ioniser
The reason we opted for a desiccant dehumidifier was so we wouldn’t need to turn the heating on so much in the winter. The air coming out of it isn’t as warm as we expected but on the lower setting you definitely get warmer air than the higher setting.
Very simple to remove and empty tank as well.
Only downside to this is that there is a unique smell coming from it. It’s not a terrible smell, just a little odd. If I had to buy again I would probably buy the simple version of this. Apart from the ioniser and silver filter, I think the simple version is better value for money.
Works very well and collects water nicely. Bought for when drying clothes (that I cant tumble dry or hang outside in the winter) and it keeps the humidity down nicely. Does take a little while to get up to speed for extracting moisture but once going it does the job nicely (and I feel quietly even at max speed).
Didn’t even smell when it starts up, something that the manual and some people mentioned, so was happy at that also.
Great machine however I wish I had spent a little more and bought the newer digital version as that you can ‘time’ to run and switch off I believe – this one you cant so would be on all day (though maybe I haven’t read the manual properly!). However as I don’t need really it all year round I am happy.
Cant tell you how much it costs to run but suppose treating dampness would cost a lot more!
Would I recommend? Yes.
We moved into a bungalow in the summer. When cooler weather came we started getting a lot of condensation overnight on our bedroom window and realised that the lintel above it was made of metal, as was the window frame. The condensation started to cause mould, so eventually we bought the EcoAir. Problem solved! It is a powerful beast that has been worth every penny. The condensation has gone and the mould has not reappeared after treating it – previously it reappeared every couple of weeks. We switch it on for a few hours after we have got up in the morning and we have been amazed at how much moisture it has taken out of the atmosphere. This means the air in the room is much drier when we go to bed and the condensation stays away. I would recommend this dehumidifier to anyone, it is worth every penny.
A great compact dehumidifier that is reliable and effective.
Probably the best dehumidifier I’ve had over the years. It runs very quietly, it is easy to empty and to clean, it is pretty light, and it does a great job of controlling humidity levels. It’s supplied with a hose for constant drain. This can be a little fiddly to plug into the internal nozzle, and the hose is fairly stiff so I’ve ended up hooking it over the sink to keep it from springing back into a coil. The hood is adjustable so you can direct the stream of warm air that exits the dehumidifier to warm the room, which also helps reduce relative humidity. I’ve had one set up in my workshop/shed for a year now and it does a great job of keeping everything rust (and frost) free. Even on economy mode it will dry washing quickly.
EcoAir dehumidifier - brilliant.
We are very pleased with this. We chose it after checking on line for comments. The case seems strong and is elegant. All the parts fit very well and there are no rattles from inside. The fan is quiet enough to have in a bedroom and is significantly noisier when operating at full blast. The control options are clearly marked on the top panel and give a variety of combinations for dehumidifying. We have a large glass enclosed veranda on a flat roof. The condensation in the morning in winter is considerable, but in 2/3 hours this is all gone and sometimes fills the container on the device ( 7 litres). All in all, this has (so far) been a very good buy and my wife has already suggested we should buy another one for downstairs. She’s probably right.
Great Dessicatio
Having researched the various brands, the consumer association recommend this one, amongst some others and it has not disappointed. Reading some amazon reviews it seems there are some genuine faults in manufacture but the majority were easily fixed. This does not worry me as Amazon have always resolved any issues with other sellers. My EcoAir does not leak at all but it does spill if you let it fill right up, easily prevented. the best feature is the automatic switch on and off and its efficiency in colder temperatures. Moreover, it has fixed my severe damp problem since discovering the cause as a sealed lino flooring not allowing natural ventilation.
Best alternative to a tumble drye
Best alternative to a tumble dryer if you don’t own one. I hang my work clothes and towels ect. … on the clothes dryer with the Ecoair underneath and set it on high for a couple of hours then set it on a slow dry and leave everything to dry overnight. Its cheap to run and quiet too.
No more water running down the walls or Black mould in my house. The Ecoair draws moist air in and blows slight warm air outwards. Something I couldn’t live without. No more sour smelling clothes either.
Coming up to a year old and still going strong. Had a different model before and it didn’t last this long. Showed signs of dying a long time before with a wobbling noise inside. Nothing like that yet with this one.
It gets used heavily, i.e. it’s switched on all the time. Not necessarily on and sucking water out of the air all the time though.
Probably a setting just before the two droplets on the dial. Seems to keep the humidity just under 60%. Bucket fills up maybe once every day to 3 days, depending on the weather outside (yep – seems to have an effect somehow) and how much moisture is being generated indoors.
Great for drying clothes. Just leave it on and point the vent towards the clothes. Does tend to warm a room up when on… a lot… especially when drying clothes.
Main reason we bought it was because we moved into a new build last December and wanted to do what we could to keep damp at bay. Done the job – not a single problem with mould or damp anywhere in the house at all.
Only downside is there is no beeping or indication that the water bucket is full up other than a tiny little red light on the top. Have to empty it every day just to make sure it doesn’t fill up and stop.
Does what it claims to. We like it.
It works well with several automatic features and different programs. We have used it mostly in our bedroom, and it aids sleep by dehumidifying the air and cleaning it. It is quiet and efficient.
An excellent choice for condensation prone homes
I’ve had this dehumidifier for over two years now and it is fantastic. Our 3-bed house is very prone to condensation (we don’t have a bathroom extractor fan or an outside venting fume hood for the cooker). This dehumidifier sucks an amazing amount of water out of the air, keeping us condensation free. The timer and ability to run at low temperatures means we can leave it running for a defined period after we’ve showered and left for work. It also dries laundry in about 1/4 of the time it would normally take to air dry.
In terms of noise, you may be able to run it at night in a smaller property, but possibly not if you’re a light sleeper. I think this is fairly common for all dehumifiers though.
I Recommend the Eco Air 5*
I have had the EcoAir now for a little over a year and I wish I had had bought it sooner. I was, at first, a little worried about the running costs of this and although I still don’t know how much it costs to run, I have not seen a massive increase in my energy and I have it running 16 hours a day during winter months sept/October to March ish. I use the full power option for 8 hours and it pulls out a full container of water and I do this twice a day. It is a little noisy but no more than the air con when you are on holiday. I sometimes use this to dry my washing in summer and it does actually dry it using the special dry option. All in all, I would recommend this product, if you follow the instructions on how to use it you cant go wrong. I have seen a significant difference in the amount of moisture build up in my home and the musty smells have gone too.
Glad I got this
I simply can’t believe just how much water this machine is extracting. I only run it when I’m in (and awake!) but over the last three weeks I’m getting 2 litres every 12 hours on the automatic setting. It is a little noisy at the moment so I’ve banished it to another room and left the doors open, but I have tried it on the “maintenance” setting, which I’m hoping it will go on soon-ish and that is quieter. It’s easy to empty and light enough to move around if needed. It was also very easy to set up and to operate.
Excellent. Can be expensive to run (power use 300 to 600 watts depending on setting chosen) but worth every penny. Use when not able to open the windows to remove condensation or if drying has to be done indoors. So especially useful in the winter months. Works well but I would suggest that it is a bit loud, even in quiet mode, to have in a room where you are sleeping. If you can leave the internal doors open and place it outside the room then not too intrusive in terms of noise. Easy to empty tray with 2 litre capacity and auto cutoff.
Context: I live in a small, one bedroom flat.
This dehumidifier really clears all moisture out of the flat. We have it running most days for laundry, but it also completely dries out the bathroom after a shower, and stops any condensation on the windows (we used to have huge puddles on the windowsills when we moved in, but now – nothing). It has a timer (which is useful for when we leave – we just leave it running with the doors open and it works across the whole flat) and a laundry setting. It was taking us 4 days to dry a load of laundry and now it can be done in 4 hours!
Drawbacks: on the ‘high’ setting, it’s noisy for a small flat. The ‘noise’ is just like a really powerful air conditioner, so it’s possible to sleep through it overnight. It’s most noticeable how noisy it is on high once you’ve turned it off!
The other drawback: today, 4.5 months after we bought it, it has stopped working for no apparent reason, it just won’t turn on. I have registered my warranty (2 years free!) and am waiting to hear back from Ecoair – will update with an outcome.
Tip – register your warranty as soon as possible!

Great product. Moved in to 3 bed bungalow which had been empty for 1yr, Problem with windows running with moisture in morning. After running the dehumidifier for a few days the problem has gone. Now just use it for half a day in winter occasionally to keep the moisture at bay. could do with a bigger water holder but that would make the device bigger so we are happy to empty the reservoir a couple of times each day – reduces as moisture leaves the house. Would recommend this product without reserve.
This is an excellent buy, we live in an old property with two young kids and this has really done an excellent job of reducing the amount of humidity on our upstairs landing where we normally dry our washing during the winter months. We have single glazed windows, which by themselves act as very good dehumidifier, however the condensation tends to sit on the glass and create mildew if left unchecked, with the new dehumidifier we have found that the condensation is reduced almost completely and we have zero problems with mildew or associated mold.
After checking that I could, I’ve attached the unit to a low cost digital power timer plug and we have it running on the ECO medium setting each day for three hours. Our washing dries twice as fast as it used to, meaning that it can all be done in less time with less fuss.
I highly recommend cleaning the filter as often as you can manage, as I’ve read that a lot of people have problems with it breaking down due to the desiccant stone filling up with dust and fluff and no longer working, we clean ours every couple of days.
All in all we’ve found it to be a very simple, easy and effective piece of equipment requiring only a couple of minutes attention every few days. We’ve never owned a dehumidifier before, so we have nothing to compare it to.
The only downside or improvement we could find was that it doesn’t allow you to pour the water reservoir without pulling up the lid, which seems clunky to us.
All in all if you can find better then buy it, if not, buy this.
Good looking and effective dehumidifier.
I researched many different dehumidifiers before settling on this one and had previously owned a refrigerant type – which was sent back as way too noisy.
It was a close run between this and a Meaco desiccant model but that was some 30-40 more with similar specs so hard to justify the extra cost.
The reason I settled on this is that these desiccant models work much better in colder environments where the temperature is below 15c and during winter my static mobile home drops way below this. The compressor types need the air temperature to be cooler so struggle to perform.
On higher settings it does increase the room temperature and has quite an effective drying function.
+ Good looking and light.
+ Much quieter than compressor dehumidifiers
+ Effective and can easily drawer 2 litres of water in a damp room
– Can be fairly expensive to run on higher power levels
– When the tank is full it’s not particularly easy to slide out and carry without spilling water.

I’ve been using this unit for nearly two years. I recently had it replaced under warranty after about 18 months as the first one began to have a squeaky fan.
Pros:
~ it’s compact
~ it takes out a good deal of moisture, depending on the manual dial setting you give it
~ it’s quiet
~ it’s stable on its feet
~ it has a handle to pick it up and move it and it’s not very heavy
~ the air filter is easily cleaned by a vacuum cleaner (you shouldn’t wet it, say the instructions)
~ customer service is excellent
Cons:
~ It’s quite power hungry. 324W on normal, 600+ on higher fan speed. I am not sure if this is a feature of desiccant dehumidifiers. I had a compressor type before and it used 190W. Then again, it wore out!
~ the tank for captured water is quite small. On high setting, you’d perhaps need to empty it more than once a day.
~ I’m not sure that the permanent drain hose facility can be disabled once employed – you have to punch out a piece of plastic on the unit to install the hose. I’ve not done this.
~ the little window to view how full the capture tank is getting is almost useless.
~ the relative humidity setting dial isn’t graduated, so you can’t use it as an indication of how moist the air is. I bought the recommended add-on product of the hygrometer to go with it and that solves the issue.

Nice neat unit but spoilt by power cable exiting at the side rather than being hidden round the back. Works very well but wish there was some way to tell when it was dehumidifying rather than just monitoring – then fan seems to go at the same speed. I would have thought it would be quieter and more energy efficient to drop the fan down to a slower speed for monitoring, we would a least then know what it is doing. It is generally quite quiet (shows around 40dba on my meter from 3 feet away on low) but not as quiet as I had hoped. We can still leave it on all night on the landing and get to sleep though. Also think it should have a digital display for current humidity in the room too as some cheaper models have. On the whole I would buy again.

We’re very happy with this purchase and are going to buy a second one. A word of advice, if you find after months of use that there’s a dusty smell just remove and dust off the filter which is easy. You will be amazed at the amount of moisture extracted in a matter hours! It’s also great to get clothes dry quicker.
Our 1920s house is single skin construction, no room for cavity wall insulation, and although the windows have been replaced, the smell of damp persisted. As an initial strategy, I used a hygrometer to assess the relative humidity (between 68-88%) and purchased this de-humidifier to see if the problem could be addressed. After setting the machine to 50% humidity and using it for three days (only a couple of hours a day and only on the low setting), the smell has disappeared from the room. I have emptied the water reservoir at each use, and have been amazed at how much water is being removed from the space. I will keep using it and will then move it to another room to see if the smell there can be tackled. I guess it’s a regular process rather than a one-off but hopefully this means that I can delay stripping off and replacing the old plaster.
Excellent Dehumidifie
After much research I decided on this model and must say I’m really impressed with the results. It has made a noticeable difference and I have monitored the humidity drop in various rooms of the cottage.
The amount of water it collects is insane – I leave it on a timer setting during the night and I wake up to drip free windows! It costs between 5-10p per hour to run depending on whether you have low or high setting, so it can add a bit to your bill if you were to leave it on for long periods.
The results in my opinion however are definitely worth it.
Ideal addition to the home
I live in a flat with metal-framed windows. I live at street level, so limited opportunity to have windows open unless I want security grids galore, so inevitably condensation is a problem. Add in laundry drying because I can’t do it outside and the need for a dehumidifier becomes a necessity rather than a “nice to have”.
My original DeLonghi dehumidifier finally died on me after years of trusty service, and after a disastrous flirtation with an Amcor (which didn’t even last 6 months before it gave up the ghost… no way was I going to make the same mistake twice.
This EcoAir is the perfect replacement for my DeLonghi. It is reasonably quiet (none of them are super-quiet when they are doing their job), and effective at keeping the moisture at bay.
It is fairly light, it has a handle for both the slide-out water tank and the unit itself, making moving it and emptying it much easier.
Removing the filter to clean it is simple to do – I just slide it out and vacuum off the fluff and dust that accumulates. The tank does need to be cleaned and disinfected from time to time to make sure nothing nasty starts growing in the tank.
In winter with condensation on the windows – it clears them efficiently (but not instantly). At any time of the year it speeds up drying any laundry you have to dry in the home. All in all, for me, an indispensable home comfort.
Very pleased with this so far. Our central heating packed up and using electric fires until it’s fixed seem to cause a whole load of condensation on the windows hence the reason for this purchase. It seemed expensive but having researched the fact that dessicant dehumidifiers work at low temperatures when others don’t, it seemed the only option as our house is more than chilly at the moment. Really surprised and pleased at how much water it sucked out of our bedroom and am now using it to dry off (hopefully) scuba diving stuff that has been hanging around and annoying the wife in the bathroom. One thing, it really isn’t clear that all lights go off and it stops working when the humidity level selected has been reached. My wife thought she’d broken it until she ploughed through all the questions and answers on here and discovered the answer.
(Bought Jan 2016) We always had a problem in a north facing corner bedroom, condensation would be running off the windows and the walls were turning black with mould. We started using this in the evenings and we were amazed at the difference in the room. Not a drop of water on the windows and the walls were bone dry, after bleaching the mould from the walls, I am thrilled that it has not returned. The waterfill unit was full every morning. So impressed we have just bought another for a different room. The Ecoair switches on and off depending on the humidity level detected in the room, therefore becoming more efficient than other units on the market. Have not noticed any significant difference in our electricity bill and could not be happier.
I ordered this yesterday, which was a Sunday, and paid for next day delivery and it arrived 10 am this Monday morning. I quickly read the instructions and set it up to run. It’s fairly light and about the size of a small suitcase. I’ve been experiencing plenty of condensation in my home in the last couple of weeks so I set it on ‘turbo’ mode and to dry the place to 35% (which is lower than I need). Anyway, at 9 pm it switched itself off because the tank was full. It takes seconds to empty. I then started the machine again and found that the humidity had fallen to around 50% and the machine only re-started when I set it to lower the humidity still further. I’ve left it like that and I guess it will switch itself back on when the moisture level rises again.
I’ve checked around my home and there is no condensation on the windows anywhere (I had left all the doors open so that moisture was being drawn from each room). It remains to be seen how reliable it proves but as long as it works through to April next year and keeps my home dry then it will have been a good purchase. Will update as the winter progresses but I’m a very happy customer tonight.
EDIT: 17th Nov ’16: Well after nearly 3 weeks use I thought I’d add my findings. 1. The machine continues to extract anything up to 6 litres a day from my home. 2. Turbo is quite noisy and can be heard in other rooms with a sound like a hairdryer 3. After playing with the setting to get the RH% I like I’ve found that it has added about 1.90 per day to my electric bill based on 16p per kWhr. 3. I’ve cleaned the filter once with a very soft brush, easy as pie. 4. Emptying the water receptacle is easy, takes seconds. 5. Just realised I’ve turned the Expellair extractor off in the bathroom because there’s no condensation in there either
The extra cost is certainly worth it to me. I’ve found the bedroom cosier, bed clothes nice and dry, absolute zero condensation anywhere (had a big problem with this in winter 2015) and I can turn the gas central heating thermostat down to 16 centigrade and the place still feels warm and cosy. Overall I am absolutely chuffed that I made this purchase and I highly recommend this if you suffer from condensation
and / or mould
Update November 2 2018: I have the humidifier running most days, keeps my bedroom nice and dry, prevents condensation and I’ve not had the black mould come back either. I also use it to dry my laundry. I hang the clothes up and just turn the machine to full speed. Dries clothes quickly.
Superb purchase
Had a problem with mould in our 2 bed flat. Having spent hours researching we opted to buy the Eco Air DD122 classic.
We have been running the product on full since purchase.
Results after 5 days:
Living room: before 65 degrees after 50
Bedroom: before 80 now 55
Kitchen: before 85 degrees now 55
Bathroom: before 95 degrees now 60
As you can see the results dont lie. I can comfortably say our humidity problems are now under control. Its also brilliant if you dry your clothes indoor which was a great added bonus.
Anyone looking to get their humidity levels under control look no further. Great buy!

In just few hours the whole container just fills up with water. Very very helpful in winters when my home becomes very humid. I use it in conjunction with the humidity reader. I always try to keep the humidity of my home around 60, otherwise it reaches till 90.
Anything over 60 is not good for health as I read in one article.
2nd Review in Mar 2019
2nd Review after 4+ years since I purchased it
It is just an update to my previous review including pics and a video.
Even after 4 years, it works as good as earlier. Now, that I have become a father, I become more careful about how the atmosphere is where my kids is staying or going. We have been using it regularly especially in winters. My favourite is to use the 2 hour timer in combination with the swirling movement of the fan.
Excellent produc
I have a new build and moisture in a new build is common. Has removed a large volume of water from my 4 bed house. Just by placing it in a central location upstairs.
I was suffering from “hay fever” like symptoms every morning even with low pollen counts and I don’t really suffer from hay fever anyway.
After running this for one night no more sniffles and sneezes.
I had it on auto to start but to be honest the eco mode will do the job and keep the running costs down too.
Easy to move around… and easy to empty the water tray. Simple to operate.
I have a humidity gauge and it was reading nearly 80% humidity this took it down to 60->65%.
Used the clothes drying once but we have a dryer now so don’t need that feature much now.
It leaves a nice smell in the toile
I wasn’t sure of buying it… but I use it everyday!!!!!! It leaves a nice smell in the toilet, where I have it, and the mould has disapeared from the walls, not completely… of course this does not make miracles, but the walls are cleaner, without mould, longer than before, I have seen other comments about the noise, it is not a problem for me, I leave it on when I finish my shower, so I am not in the same room.
I recommend it, it works perfect for me.
Fantastic product, really helped our condensation/damp problem, and you can really tell how the air quality has improved. However, we had to send our first unit back because of a leak directly above the water tank, causing the water to collect on top of the tank and excessive moisture under the tank that required wiping each time we emptied it. Something to look out for – there is a black rubber/foam seal around the plate above the water tank inside the unit, this had dropped and the water was leaking from around the seal. Might be worth checking this out before you use it. New one is totally fine so far. Humidity meter will read 78% and within 30 mins on turbo will drop to 65% and temperature will have gone up a few degrees. Really pleased with this product, definitely worth the money.
Returning the product was so easy! Requested a return around 9pm, it was collected the following morning and the day after that the new one came! Really impressed with Amazon’s returns
This does exactly what you expect of a dehumidifier. It works even at low temperatures, so ideal for the typical shivering UK home!
The highest setting pulls out water at quite a remarkable rate; this was very handy for creating conditions such that wall painting dried out much faster than without dehumidifying.
The price is about right for this unit. It’s as quiet as advertised, but even the low setting is distracting at night; certainly not one for sleeping in the same room as it! Corridors etc are the best place, but remember that to dry adjacent rooms effectively, you do need to keep bedroom doors quite wide open – so the noise isn’t reduced as much as otherwise would be the case.
Overall, I can’t fault it for having some noise, but one imagines that a slightly slower, third fan speed option might be an idea for future iterations.
I’ve been through many dehumidifiers in the last 15 years living in an old terrace house. Of all of them, this is by far the best.
The bucket is squat, which makes you think it’s small, or will spill, but the design means it hold a lot of water yet is easy to lift out and empty.
The unit (empty) is half the weight of units of comparable size.
The economy setting is incredibly quiet but efficient, and while the clothes drying setting is noisy you can almost see it sucking the moisture out of the air!
The shape of it is far friendlier than other models which tend to be rounded and bulbous, this fits snuggly into a small room much better because it is square.
Overall it looks good too, although I wouldn’t pay an extra 50 to get it in pink!
It’s been running well in my house for 6 months so far, and because it is so light its no burden to move it around to where its needed most.
Works a treat!
The dehumidifier works a treat; quietly collects more water than I could ever have imagined existed in our house
I’ve worked out that the dehumidifer is costing us about 9p/hour and we use it in full mode, not eco mode (that would work out about 5p/hour). We have the dehumidifier on for 2 hours (on the timer, so no need to worry about leaving it on too long and running up your bill) a day and the difference with a problem wall has all but gone – obviously, without continued use, the same problem would re-appear due to the high humidity levels in our home.
I’ve seen complaints of water leaking when removing the water tank and I thought u experienced that at first too. However, the issue was I wasn’t leaving the unit long enough to finish dripping the water into the tank and therefore water was dripping between removing the tank, emptying it, and putting it back into the unit. So, best to leave it for 30mins before emptying.
Highly recommend for anyone looking for a dehumidifier. It’s not cheap – I paid 155 – but I’d rather pay good money for something that works properly than try (and fail) to do it on the cheap.
No more hanging pants on the radiators!
I love this machine. When it’s wet and cold outside, we can do as much washing as we like (three loads if we want to even), and we just hang all the wet clothes up in the loft, switch this machine on and the next morning it’s all wonderfully dry. No need for an expensive tumble drier (which is bad for your clothes anyway), and best of all – no damp, no condensation or mildew on on windows, or unsightly pants hanging around on radiators!
No idea if the ioniser actually does anything mind you, but who cares.
Really – if I was in charge I’d give every household in the land one of these.
