Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI bought this to speed up very slow laundry drying in my basement utility room. I was really sceptical that it would work & it was a last resort – but it does really work. The laundry drying function is amazing, it cuts down drying time by about 75% – I’m amazed at the amount of water that comes out. It’s a compact machine and not too noisy. Love i

The smell is caused by the type of rock that absorbs the water in the unit. This will have absorbed a lot of the new plastic smell when sitting in the box. The smell gets milder over time, but never fully disappears.
Don’t get this for your bedroom.

In my opinion, this is a great dehumidifier. There’s one thing it doesn’t have, a timer.
But I can live with that.

This thing is amazing. Our upstairs is quite cold in the winter and there was visible condensation on the windows every morning. We had mold growing on the windows and corners of the walls (and even some of our fabrics) which we did our best to remove but which kept regrowing. Not anymore! This dehumidifier removes an absolute load of water every day and we haven’t had condensation or mold since. Way more effective than our old standard (non-dessicant) dehumidifier, which didn’t remove much in the cold weather. So pleased with this!

Had one of these for well over 15 years and it worked flawlessly. It finally gave up the ghost recently but that is a pretty good life expectancy in todays world. I tried a few brands which I had to send back because of faults, then I found out Ecoair were still making these. Ordered one right away and it arrived the next day. It’s working just fine so far like the old one. The design is simple and easy for anyone to use and it’s relatively quiet. Can’t recommend it highly enough!

I’ve been using it for over a year now and it hasn’t skipped a beat in all that time. I put it on after every shower and sometimes during the day, and I’ve emptied out a full tank on many occasions.

I bought it for my parents as a gift and they found it dried their clothes unbelievably fast.

Also recommended it to someone with an existing mould issue to get as much moisture out of their rooms ASAP. Seems to be going in and out of stock surprisingly quickly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works like a charm, highly recommended.

I use this in the conservatory and it is very good at removing moisture quickly and it also gives out warm air so it helps to heat the room. It has a special extra fast fan for drying clothes and it works very well. This is a small model but I have found it very good. When on the fasted fan it is a bit noisy but usually I only need the fasted speed for a short time. I am very pleased with it.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis dehumidifier is brilliant – it does the job, instructions and info are very clear, but above all it does the job it promises to do. I bought it as my boiler broke and I was without heating for two weeks, by which time not only the indoors temperature was very low, but there was a lot of humidity in the house. I could feel the difference between rooms after I left the dehumidifier in the sitting room for half day. After my house was back to normal and toasty, I started to use it to accelerate the drying of my laundry: perfect! If you leave it on overnight, in the morning the laundry is dry; if you want to dry a set of bedsheets, it only takes a couple of hours. Really glad I bought it. It is also aesthetically pleasing, and easy to empty.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI did a lot of research on what the best dehumidifier was out every time I found a model that I thought suited our needs it had sold out! However, this EcoAir unit kept popping up in various reviews and, since it was available, I made the purchase.

Now the EcoAir DD1 Simple Blue MK3 Desiccant Dehumidifier is about a quarter of the size of our old dehumidifier that just wasn’t performing that well. I was amazed by how much more water the Eclair was pulling in when compared to our bigger unit, and it was much cheaper to run than our old unit.

It’s simple and straightforward to operate, lightweight and compact enough to move around without wheels. The unit has a timer function so you can set it to work during the night and because it is quiet you won’t be disturbed unless, maybe, it’s in the same room.

I purchased this item in December 2022 and was super impressed. I never used one before, but it made a huge different in my holiday home. The amount of water it took out of my holiday home was amazing. I no longer got condensation on the windows and it made everywhere feel drier and warmer. The downfall was it stopped working after 2 weeks so I sent it back and got a refund. I was that impressed I purchased a replacement which unfortunately still hasn’t turned up due to Evri/Hermes losing the parcel. I had to then purchase one from Ebay as if Amazon are going to start using Evri/Hermes as a courier service I won’t be purchasing anything else from here. Everytime (apart from 2 times) I have had my parcels gone missing, delayed they never turn up.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersI had been doing some research on what the best De-humidifier was out there, I had read so many reviews on quite a few of them, and was so mixed up with which was the best, as most had good and bad reviews, I got down to 2 that I thought was the best for me, MEACO and the ECOAIR DD1 CLASIC MK6. The MEACO was a bit out of my price range but if it worked the best I was willing to buy it, but when I went to checkout it had sold out so I decided I would buy the ECOAIR DD1, and I am so pleased I did the function buttons are easy to understand and it works like magic, I certanly made the right choice, it ticks all the boxes, its pretty quite, dried out our conservatory which was full of condensation and damp within a few hours and the clothes drying mode works wonders, there is a timer on the unit so I go to bed set the timer and my washing is dry by then next morning I would highly recommend this unit, it’s very lightweight and so easy to use, and it cost around 7p an hour to run, one of my best purchases I’ve made for half the price of the MEACO.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersAfter a bad experience with a compressor dehumidifier which just didn’t collect any water despite high humidity and as much heat as I could muster, I decided to try a no-frills desiccant machine and glad I did. Doesn’t look as fancy as some but not bothered as it works brilliantly. Not as energy efficient as an eco compressor model but it probably all evens out for me as I don’t need to put on extra heating in the room it is working in. It collects loads of water in a couple of hours. Not too noisy – like white noise but wouldn’t want it in the bedroom. Easy to use and has made a difference to my house already. Use this if you don’t have a constantly toasty warm house and you would struggle with a compressor model.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI don’t have a condensation or damp problem in the house. Trying to save money with cost of gas heating and cut down my tumble dryer use I decide to try a dehumidifier. It definitely does dry my washing quicker than it would without heating on as much as usual. Very easy to operate. Doesn’t take up much room. According to my smart meter it’s 9p an hour to run on standard laundry mode. Plenty of water in the tray which is satisfying. Only thing id say, but me rather than machine, is my sinuses get dry, but doesn’t affect my husband in that way. I researched more expensive models and decided on this and very happy with my choice and for drying washing.

It works fine but probably breakes even with tumble dryer costs for small household. For a family who use tumble dryer a lot, you can save money by using clothes horse and this machine This averages 17p per hour. Compressors average 5p an hour. I regret not opting for Compressor. It works very well.

Golden Review Award: 22 From Our UsersGreat product, would definitely recommend. I’d brought a cheap humidity gauge and it was regularly registering over 80, now with this dehumidifier it’s a pleasant 60.

My accommodation is a basement room. Great space but it was getting colder even with the heating on in the rest of the house and on in my room.

It was the last straw when I moved some furniture and realised that it was damp/wet underneath ( and no I wasn’t drying washing in my room). Also I was struggling to get motivated on my non work days to get up, as continual coughs, cold and even an eye infection. I just felt unwell.

A friend visited and commented that I wasn’t myself and felt that my room was humid and that I needed to consider moving out. But what about trying a dehumidifier first, as they knew I liked my room.

We looked online and realised that I needed something quiet and fairly portable. But didn’t want to pay the earth for it.

Absolutely great product, made a difference the first night I used it. Took a couple of days to get the humidity down in my room, but now only have to put it on for a few hours a couple of times a week or if I’ve been away.

It has completely changed the environment and now I’ve found it even dries washing our house tumble drier packed in two weeks ago.

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersWorks really fast! I used to get very bad mould and damp smells in my room every winter due to horrible window insulation and poor room ventilation. The day I received this my room humidity dropped from 70% to 40% overnight! In the winter it’s even better as it generates a LOT of heat so if basically a heater. In my medium room the temperature has risen from around 19 degrees to averages of 23-24 all-day so I don’t have to turn on the heating. To save money you should set it too the highest humidity you handle can so it isn’t on too much (like 55%?) and keep it on eco-mode. I’m sure the power consumption on the device is very high since it is this one uses a Desiccant rather than compressor. My previous compressor dehumidifier took way to long to remove moisture from the air.

This Eco-air works to good affect. Certainly draws the dampness into the tank. And it actually increases the air temperature by a few degrees despite the cold house it occupies. I would say it is fairly quiet in operation and not too intrusive.

I’m pleasantly surprised how quickly this works, taking away the chill in the damp air and the humidity from clothing, sheets, furniture etc. It means I can leave heating off in unused rooms with no fear of mould. An hour or 2 a couple of times a week seems fine for a 20 square metre room. Though it has been a mild winter.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI looked at loads of different makes and models in different shops and decided that a desiccant dehumidifier was the best for my cold, single story house in the far north of Scotland.

I have black mould starting on my bathroom ceiling and things that are stored in cupboards or near outside walls get mould growth. My budget was limited so I opted for this model. There are cheaper ones but they’re not desiccant.

Setting it up was simple and after reading the instructions I put it in my hall to start. I put it onto the highest setting with all the doors open. I was amazed at the amount of water in the tank after just a couple of hours. I then put it in each room to do it’s magic. I have a thermometer with a humidity gauge (it cost less than 10 from Amazon). It’s good to know what the level is.

I now have this machine running most of the day on medium economy mode and switch it off at night. As soon as we’re up and showered I put it on and let it do it’s thing. I’ve hardly had to put the heating on, the house is definitely warmer. As far as how heavy it is on electric usage, I have a prepayment electric meter and I haven’t noticed any increase.

The only negative thing I will say is that when it’s running on the turbo setting, there is a smell comes from it. It kind of smells like a gas. The booklet says it is zeolite desiccant material that absorbs odours. It’s not harmful and will not last long. I don’t notice it at all when it’s on economy mode and that is more than efficient for my needs. I’d only put it on turbo for drying a very steamy bathroom or if I had a lot of laundry to dry.

I wish I had got one of these years ago. I plan on looking after it and hoping it will last me for years to come.

Golden Review Award: 23 From Our UsersIf you want to move this between rooms, it is super light and a good compact size.
I live in a 5 storey solid stone house in a damp valley. We can’t put extractors in as it’s a grade 2 listed building. We have bathrooms on 3 different floors and condensation on single glazed windows nearly every day in the winter.
This machine is a powerful unit. I can put it on for 2 hours after a shower in an en-suite bedroom (about 12×19 feet total) and the humidity dropped from 83-55%. I bought some thermpro humidity readers- relatively cheap and super useful and accurate at showing how damp a room is. So, if it tells you it’s damp in one room, you can carry the dehumidifier to where it’s needed.
I like that it has a hose outlet and hose included if ever we are out /away and want it on the constant mode.
Would be excellent for laundry in a small room. Really useful if you don’t want the hassle of emptying it. I might buy another one for another problem bedroom but right now, it’s really easy to lift and move around the home.
I also bought a Meaco Arte at the same time for a laundry room. Much bigger 25l heavy duty powerhouse. But this is a very damp room with tumble dryer, a lot of laundry hanging and a steam generator iron going up to 10 hrs a week. It doesn’t need to move.
I really researched my needs; this one is perfect for smaller properties and small utility rooms for drying laundry or, if like me, you want to use it in specific rooms and move it around. Large ones are VERY heavy.
I have another older XDry whose tank spills on getting it out. This little one is great- can put on carpet, won’t spill. Very solid, high quality construction. Easy sliding tank- no jerky slopping of water. Great choice of programmes and very easy to understand dashboard so you won’t have to pull out the instruction manual all the time.
The only things I don’t like are that it’s quite noisy- although a constant hush/ white noise. I couldn’t sleep with it in the room or watch tv comfortably- but I only use it on the high mode.
I know from other models that it’s energy usage isn’t the best so I dropped star for that- but – it is extremely quick at extracting moisture for its size so cost wise, you save from that.
    Extremely happy with it.

It works a dream. It’s fast and efficient. It removes moisture quickly and reliably. It works so well I find I have to remember we have it as in the last one took so long to dry the bathroom we had to leave it on for a day. This unit does the Kobe in 90 minutes. I/ we totally recommend it. Just place your settings as you like and then forget you have it it works so well. Just get used to emptying it more often the storage tank is large

I’ve had a fair bit of experience with domestic dehumidifiers and I must say, this one surprised me. I almost bought a compressor dehumidifier, but tried one first in my cold garage, it shut off as it was too cold and didn’t produce anything for the time it was on. So, I tried this desiccant Eco air DD1 and my goodness, it’s the best performer I’ve seen!
I’ve had DeLongi expensive models in excess of 300 that can’t live up to this little work horse.
Put on full it filled the tray in a few hours. Put on low I can leave it 24 hours and just about need to empty it. It’s a belting piece of kit. It’s winter at the moment and my garage backs onto the kitchen so it does get humid in there, but this sorts it out great. Only had it about a week, and very happy so far.

Bought this thing Jan 2018. Keeps flat (now house) dry and warm! Once its been running for a little while, the exhaust air warms up a little which is a bonus.

I empty the tray 1-2 times per day so it really does draw out 7 or so litres of water out of the air. Dries laundry vary quickly too if left in a small room/ bathroom.

Haven’t figured out how to connect the hose yet.

Really happy with it and no issues as described in other reviews.

Does the job that it was purchased for in my conservatory. Quiet and easy to use. My only gripe is when it comes to emptying the water tray it is quite difficult to pull the draw out and I end up spilling some water on my floor. But I consider it a good dehumidifier and am pleased with my purchase.

Bought one in 2011 to put in our conservatory to prevent condensation on the windows during winter months. Now, 10 years later, works just as good as the day we first used it. Not had a steamy window since. Also use it to dry washing. It gives off a little heat which is a bonus on colder days. Bought 2 more in 2012 to give to son and daughter, and they also are still working well. I’m about to buy another to put in the garage and when I realised how long we’d had one I thought it was about time I gave a review. Remains one of the best things I’ve ever bought on Amazon.

i have a 2 bed home, with double glazing. however finding regularly that my windows have condensation on them.
i also hang my clothes on the clothes horse indoors, however the condensation on the windows is not specifically limited to the room the clothes are in.. its regularly on all the windows around the house.
First thing i did was to get humidity and temperature device to place around the house (see pic) and i have to say this has really helped me.
ive noticed that humidity levels drop whilst the heating is on(this might have been obvious, but i needed to see it to really understand my home)
After reading about the compressor and desiccant type of dehumidifiers, i decided to purchase the desiccant, in pink because my home often sits around 13 degrees, which i find cold( maybe because its at the gable end)
the dehumidifier it is not bad looking
i like that there are no “feet” that could break
i like that it has a handle to lift and move around
i have problems with my hands, but this is still ok to lift, not too heavy
the water tray is also really good .. it has a lid and handle
heat comes out the pink vent at the top into the room as the dehumidifier is running which was really good.

the one and only issue i have is that i feel there is a smell that is released from the dehumidifier and it gives me a headache.
even after its been switched off, i can smell that smell in the air in that room.
so thats the only thing i would say put me off using this as regularly as i might.
oh, and one more thing, i would not recommend that you sit in the same room as this when its on, as i felt ill a few days after, with a dry throat(you might think that ive had it on too long, but humidity levels were still in range so i think it can dry you out if you have it on i your space)
finally, even though it does not make slot of noise on the economy level, i could still hear it and i couldnt sleep it must have been a new sound to my ears which is why i couldnt relax when i was in bed as i could hear the murmur
that said, ive had it on almost 12hrs in some rooms and ive not had to put it on again

so i can see this being something i do as i see the humifity levels jumping to 60% and not before

    good choice, beware the smell

I’ve previously had a small dehumidifier to help with our outside concrete panelled shed during the winter where we have freezers it struggled and many times froze up so accepting my mistake I looked for something more suitable for this winter and in particular would work at low temperatures, and bought this model and have to say it does the job the “tank” holds 2.2lts and although I’ve only set it on roughly half power as it has several settings to suit environment have to empty the “tank” every 2-3 days, it doesn’t run all the time it cuts in when it senses the need and it certainly has made a big difference. It is portable and suitable to use in house for example if you are drying washing indoors during wet weather which absorbs and helps with damp washing. Yes very pleased maybe paid a little more than anticipated but when it does the job is the key factor.

This humidifier is fantastic. Does the job great, I used it in bedroom, on med-settings and low-power mode and it makes massive difference in my 15m2 bedroom: humidity from above 70% most nights was down to ideal 50% with it running.

It’s quite audible which worried me at first, but the hum it makes is quite pleasant after a short while and I’m pretty sure it helped me fall asleep 🙂

In the morning not a sign of condensation on the windows, despite the fact that temperature dropped rapidly overnight, so I am really happy. Creates a little heat as it works, won’t replace central heating but it does give a nice warm hug on a cold night. Over night collected about 1 l of water in the tank.

I’ve chosen this SIMPLE model of DD1 over CLASSIC, as it’s the only one that can be controlled with smart plug (doesn’t need additional “on” button to be pushed, like most humidifiers) so there’s potential to schedule its operation or even allow smart home to control it to a greater degree than build-in dial.

    Great little worke

Bought this in 2015 it’s still going strong. It leaked a bit within 6 months, I sent it for repairs, they sent it back saying it was repaired. Still leaked a bit, I use it with a tray underneath, it works beautifully. Sometimes it leaks sometimes it doesn’t. Dries laundry like nothing else, cheap to use, it does not crank up the electric bill too much, doubles the efficiency of the central heating, has taken the edge off winters in northern England for real. Nifty robot.

My first decedent dehumidifier, and I like it. It works quickly so it doesn’t bother me in my office for too long. It does smell a bit, from time to time, but an air purifier takes that away pretty quickly, and which I want as using the dehumidifier i keep doors and windows closed. It’s also a lot quieter than the ‘fridgerant’ dehumidifiers, and I’ve used the tube it came with to drain automatically outside. Lastly, having the humidity down means I’m not so cold, so hopefully the cost of running it balances a bit with reduced need for heating. (good for clothes drying too)

  41. Rex8644avhwf says:

After having used an ‘older’ style compressor dehumidifier for many years and after it conked out I decided it’s time for an upgrade.

First off it is much lighter than older style dehumidifiers making it perfect for lugging around where you need it and not have to leave it to settle for an hour or so so big points scored there.

Secondly, quiet. Very quiet. I know people here complain it is too loud but bear in mind it is running two separate fans in that unit and that will generate noise. I can easily sleep through it on any setting but I am not opposed to white noise at night if there is external noise I want to drown out.

Thirdly, drying time. Putting it to the test on a damp wet day, I hung 3 washing loads up in the bedroom, put it on laundry and left it to it. In 4 hours the bucket filled up and needed emptying which is a breeze to do and in that time I’d say most clothes were around 75-80% dry, so left it running for another few hours and came back to dry clothes (and warm, filtered, ionized air).

All-in-all, for the price I’d say it’s a good machine. It does what you need it to although I’m yet to experience the wet carpet I read so much about on here…

It does use more electricity than a conventional dehumidifier although for me, where it uses a heater to dry the dessicant wheel, I will utilise that energy in winter time and leave it running during the day I think and that’ll hopefully negate the need to use the dreaded storage heater in the living room.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersTook ages to decide on a dehumidifier – as most of us probably do – it is very well made and appears [so far] to be very sturdy. Definitely a good quality product. I bought it to keep the humidity at a safe level for my piano – and the amount of water extracted in just a few days has given us enough de-ionised water for the iron, and, when the colder weather arrives, to use in the humidifier. There are 2, 4, and 8 hr settings, or you can just leave it on. It does not indicate what the humidity levels are, so I have a small humidistat in the room too. On auto it took the recent very high humidity down from a whopping 67% into the low 50’s within forty minutes and when I simply left it on, the humidity dropped to 45%. So I would say it works very well. I have only had it for a couple of weeks so we’ll see how things go. NB: whilst it sorts out the humidity, it does raise the temp of the room it is in, and I hadn’t hoisted that in when I read the various reviews – so last night, it had dropped the humidity but raised the room temp to 27deg which wasn’t great [but only 4deg higher than in the house – so if you want air conditioning, this is definitely not what you are after. It does what it says on the label, and it does it very well indeed. I have rated it four stars for energy although I have no real way of telling….. but it is noisier than I had anticipated hence the 3 stars for noise – but don’t be put off – I suspect my definition of ‘noise’ when I’m playing the piano over it, is not the machines fault, but mine. And let’s face it, I’ve got nothing to compare it with which is always the problem when we are buying online. On laundry setting, it finished off the washing last night brilliantly so I reckon it will be a godsend in the colder weather when we have to hang stuff up in the utility regularly. Hope this helps your decision.

This is my fourth dehumidifier and by far the best! It’s lightweight, relatively quiet and great at extracting water from the air in my windowless bathroom which doubles as a laundry drying area. The only thing that remains to be demonstrated is its longevity – previous ones have stopped extracting properly after a couple of years.

Works more efficiently and more quietly than my old dehumidifier, with more features and settings. Switches itself off when it reaches a set point of relative humidity, which is a nice feature I haven’t seen before on devices in this price range. Reasonably quiet too, though I don’t think I’d want it on in a room I was trying to sleep in. Removing the water tank is a bit fiddly, and this is the first time I’ve come across a tank that’s longer than it is tall (it’s a bit like a toolbox sort of shaped unit) and you have to be gentle and steady to remove it from the body, but that seems to be a universal issue with dehumidifiers, so I’m not going to grumble. Good purchase, fine bit of tech.

The Which? magazine said this dehumidifier was a little noisier than some, but we’ve not noticed that at all. The level does increase a bit when you select the turbo function, but you have to balance that with the results – first class! We used this to dry out our porch whose roof leaked. Humidity was 76% to start with but just 27% after 1 hour. Roofers still not come to fix leak so when it rains we use the lower setting for a couple of hours. The noise level is just a hum and the humidity again drops right down. I’m amazed with the amount of water it collects and overall quite impressed with the results. (I’ve no way of assessing its efficiency so left that selection blank.)

I purchased this model over 10 years ago for my static caravan, still using it today. When my mum needed a dehumidifier for her walk-in loft space I recommended this one and purchased it for her.
The fact that it is a desiccant it can raise the room temperature up between 5-10 degrees, just brilliant.
Having many years experience of using dehumidifiers it’s certainly the best for the money. I would highly recommend it.

I don’t normally bother with reviews but this product is definately worth the effort. I bought one of these about 5 years ago because my boat was leaking water through its windows. It dried it out in one night completely. I loaned it to a friend years later and it got damaged. I recently had a damp issue at work so decided to buy a more expensive British made model, expecting it to be better than my Ecoair. After being left on all night it had collected only a quarter of a tank from a really damp room. I boxed it up and returned it to my local tool store! In the end after trying (3) different types of dehumidifier I went online and bought one of these again. It’s quiet, simple to use and will fill a tank in less than half a day. No question in my mind it’s the best by a mile.

We have suffered from condensation in the property for years.
    This item is great.
We now only have it on a couple of hours in the evening but wake up to clear ,dry windows.
A drier atmosphere which obviously is quicker to heat! Dry air heats better than moist air.
Which off sets the cost of the machine against the saving in central heating.
We would not be without this item

We have had this machine for over 4 years.
After 2.5 years, it started to leak a lot of water – it turns out the machine was really dusty inside (despite cleaning the filter every week). I dismantled the unit and gave it a good clean from the inside. It worked for the next 1.5 years without any further leaks but today, it finally stopped blowing hot air, which makes it unusable as it is an essential process for this thing to work.
Based on the other reviews, this machine has a lifespan between 2.5 years and 5 years. I think I think I will buy it again because it has been very good purchase (c.35 per year for us and it’s works extremely well in drying our laundry). Why can’t they make machines that last a lifetime?

We bought this dehumidifier for our bathroom, which is a 1950s extension that has no damp course.
    The dehumidifier is amazing!
It’s compact and quietly (not silently, but at a very acceptable noise level) whirs away, doing a fantastic job.
You can even feel that the air in the room is drier!
It turns itself off either when the atmosphere meets the dryness setting or when the tank is full.
We leave it set to dryness level 2 all of the time and it happily turns itself on and off.
We had one of these before and it did break eventually after years (2 or 3) of constant use, but I really wouldn’t let this put you off. For the joy of a dry home, it’s worth every penny for that duration.
In between, we tried a different make (also now broken) and have bought a new one of these because the other one wasn’t as good.
    Buy it now!!

Rreally amazed at amount of water this pulls out of the air.
We have had a damp issue in the bedroom for a while which has gotten worse due to working from home (wife uses living room, so I have to use the damp bedroom). We had been doing a poor job of managing the issue with other dehumidifiers pre Cvd19/lockdowns but when we had to start working from home the damp problem got much worse. So I did a bit of research which showed this type of dehumidifier was significantly better than cheaper versions. But it’s worth it
Have used far cheaper dehumidifiers in the past, but this one collects 2litres in 14 hours where cheaper versions barely manage that in a week.
It isn’t silent, but it’s only about the same noise level as air conditioning unit when it’s running on economy mode ( level I usually run it on). Took a couple of days to get settings right, but now working perfectly. Automatically runs through the day and pulls enough condensation out of the air to not have to run through the night.
After clearing up mould, and painting anti mould paint on problem areas and then installing the kit the room has been clear of mould and damp on the walls for over a month. No sign of mould recurring (which it always did previously no matter how much paint I used)

We are all unfortunately having a very wet winter, and this dehumidifier has been very helpful in drying our washing.
We are having to do washing every day as we have 2 GSD’s and they make a few towels dirty everyday. I previously bought an identical dehumidifier three years ago and it is still working well but with the extra washing being done I felt that a second dehumidifier would be beneficial, and it is.

Does well on the landing of our 1930s semi-detached house between two rooms and the bathroom. We put it on the lowest setting for a few hours each morning and it gets around half full. I have asthma and normally get a bad chest but the air is better with the dehumidifier. I would suggest that once you turn it off you wait a few minutes for it to finish draining – if you take the reservoir out straight away a bit of water can get on the carpet. Easy to carry around with the handle and quite light too.

If I had any complaint it would be that, in the small room I’m using it in… even with the switch set to “Economy”, when the dial set to “high”, it can take the humidity well below 35% before cutting off. I would advise getting a humidity meter so you can adjust it as required.

I highly recommend using the included hose and position the unit so you can have a continuous drain if at all possible.. otherwise, in a damp environment it can quite happily fill the 2 litre water tank in a few hours!

    Quiet and powerful...

Prior to buying this I tried 2 other makes. The first one (a cheap one at 50) could only extract about 300mls in a 24 hour period, the other one (condensing type) would extract 2500mls in 24 hrs but was far too noisy.
This one extracts around 2500mls / 24hrs and is very quiet – about the same noise of a fan on slow speed.
It’s a nice looking unit and is quite light. Happy to recommend this.

I spent some time researching dehumidifier’s as I wanted one for my garage to remove any moisture to prevent rust appearing on my Westfield Sports Car, I have to say I am extremely pleased with this dehumidifier, within the first 1 hr it had already drawn approx 1 ltr of moisture which was surprising as the garage is already very well insulated with no water leaks under the main door, so for this amount of moisture to be removed is great. Noise level isnt a worry as it’s in a garage, it may seem a little noisy if in house though. At the time of writing this the outside temp has been down to -6 but it has carried on functioning with no issues (I know the temp in garage will be a lot higher than this) and it produces a little heat also. All in all the garage feels warm and dry and the dehumidifier is doing its job well.

I got this to use in the spare room where most drying of washing happens in the winter. Had been getting some marks on the ceiling so thought I would try this. Very pleased so far, seems well made and very easy to use. Small enough to handle easily but powerful enough to really capture the water in the room. I just pop it on when a fresh batch of washing goes in and it whirrs away quietly for a few hours, inaudible in adjacent bedrooms even at night. Next thing you know you are emptying a litre of water away (could use it in the iron as it is distilled!).

Great little Dehumidifier collects water very well …although not sure how accurate the built-in humidistat is as it seems to read differently to the mobile gauge I have in my garage. Also when you turn the switch there is quite a big difference between on and off. But overall I find it Ideal for my garage, especially as its the desicant type. I recommend taking out the extra breakdown cover as it wasn’t that expensive and considering all humidifiers I researched seemed to be a bit hit and miss for reliability even the more expensive ones it’s probably worth it.

I’ve had this machine about 3 years now and boy has this made a difference, After suffering from damp issues for a while I decided to invest in a dehumidifier. This machine works wonders, my carpets and bedding used to feel almost damp especially in the winter when all the windows are closed and with the family showering all that steam has to go somewhere. I’m amazed at the amount of water pulled from the air and how fast the reservoir seems to fill, It’s also economical to run! As stated I’ve had this a while now and have had no problems with it. Everything now feels dry to the touch. I can’t be happier.

    Everything now feels dry.

Everything about this product is quality. It’s design is sleek and unobtrusive. We use it in the tv room on eco mode and cannot hear it running when tv is on. I highly recommend the Eco Air. We have very large widows and sliding patio door and the unit removes all condensation. I set temperature and forget about it the unit takes care of humidity levels, turns on and off when needed, stops automatically when full. When water is removed from unit, I turn it back on and that’s that. This unit has made all the difference between a damp room with wet windows and a room that is fresh and healthy. Eco Air also runs a little heat when needed to speed up process of removing condensation. AAA+ Highly recommended.

Wow. Just wow! I wish I had bought one of these years ago. I will need to update this review if anything goes wrong, but so far I am very impressed.

We have no extractor fan in the kitchen or bathroom, and some of the double glazed windows are now old, with no in-built ventilation. In the Summer it’s fine, but during the Winter we have issues. In the mornings our older double-glazed windows are streaming with water on cold days. The sills and wall areas around the windows get mouldy and I am forever bleaching them. Also, weird fluffy mould patches appear on the wall-paper along the top of the outside wall in our bedroom, and black mould in random places like behind the fridge and TV table.

I turned this humidifier on for two hours on full blast on the first evening and it collected a quarter of a tank of water. Then I ran it during the following daytime on the Economy setting and it collected a full tank of water. No condensation on the windows in the mornings! It’s easy to carry around, so I’m putting it in the kitchen when I cook dinner, and on the landing when I take a shower and in the mornings due to the condensation caused by the family sleeping.

When I have it on in the kitchen during cooking, the windows are completely steam-free. This has never happened before. It does make a sound, that sounds like air rushing out. However, it’s a constant (not variable) noise that would be easy to get used to, or ignore. It’s worth it for the difference it makes to our humidity issue. I’m quite excited that this may fix an issue that has been causing stress for me. Hopefully no more mould! Fingers crossed it keeps working OK.

Looks as good as a dehumidifier can, has nice feel, reservoir easy to remove and empty, simple to use. Makes roughly the noise of a table mounted electric fan – can just hear it while in bed if left on in downstairs hall, but not enough to wake us. Seems to work well, removing enough moisture to keep humidity at acceptable level (we have a medium sized 1920’s house without cavity wall). If you have serious humidity problems or a big house, you’d need 2 of these, or the compressor type dehumidifier which is a lot more money and makes a lot more noise.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersI bought this dehumidifier as I live in a static caravan and every winter I have serious condensation problems. Last year I had to replace all my net curtains as they were covered in black mould which was unsightly and unhygienic. This dehumidifier was delivered on time and is a nice looking unit which is compact and easy to move with the built-in handle. This is a desiccant dehumidifier ( as opposed to a compressor type) which means it can operate at lower temperatures and has an operating range between +1C and 40C. The control buttons are easy to understand and use. When I received this unit the relative humidity indoors was between 75 – 80%. After 2 days use on the automatic setting it had dropped to an acceptable 50 – 60% and the dehumidifier had removed 8 litres (almost 2 gallons) of water from the air. I now only use it for a few hours a day on a low setting to maintain this lower percentage. The fan is quiet on the low setting and slightly noisier on the high setting, about the same as a normal domestic fan. This has a laundry setting which enables you to dry a load of washing in 4 hours and means I can save money as I no longer have to use the tumble dryer. It also has an ioniser which purifies the air blown out of fan. The water tank is easy to remove and empty and the air filter is easy to remove and clean. The machine cuts out when the water tank is full and restarts once the tank has been emptied. The machine does emit a slight smell for the first couple of days but this is normal and soon goes away. I highly recommend this dehumidifie

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBought this as a replacement for a larger EcoAir dehumidifier which had died after many years faithful service. We use it to dry laundry and it is very quiet, small enough to stand on the work surface in the utility room but still does a great job of drying the laundry.

We have found EcoAir dehumidifiers to be very effective and a good combination of price and quality. We have purchase 5 over the last decade – for extended family and ourselves – and they have all proved reliable and highly effective for reducing humidity levels without problems.

very neat unit and easy to control . I use it in a flat for reducing water content and maintaining a comfortable atmosphere, disappointed that the full lamp has already ceased to function. Day later…. Full lamp functioning again after checking water container as per instructions. Neighbour impressed with design!!!! me too. room humidity was a little over 60RH now down to 47RH which is defined as being a comfortable RH especially where I live ….near the sea and vey salt laden atmosphere.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersSuper impressed with the results so far. People who are complaining about the noise level clearly don’t have a serious enough condensation problem, it could be playing the trombone for all I care as long as it stops the damp! And to be honest, unless it’s on the max setting at full power I hardly even notice it. The eco/energy saving mode is much quieter, I have it on that overnight near my bedroom and it doesn’t bother me at all.

I used it on full power for the first couple of days to sort out the worst of the damp problem, and it must have cleared at least 5-6 litres in 48 hours, I was delighted! I can finally use my conservatory again without feeling chesty. I’ve noticed a real improvement in my health so far this winter, so that’s a plus!

It’s super light and easy to carry around the house, and tipping out the water is a breeze too. Even if it only lasts me through one winter, it’s already done its money’s worth in my opinion. But it seems like a durable device, so I’m looking forward to using it throughout 2020.

As an add-on, the laundry setting as been a godsend! I don’t have a tumble dryer, and it’s cut down my rack-drying time by about a 3rd.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI bought the same one (in blue) in 2014. Our flat has bad insulation and during winter time we had a lot of condensation on windows. So I decided to give it a try. After the first night it was full of water. I couldn’t believe it. I bought another (in black) as one isn’t enough for a Flat. Now, one covers the living room/kitchen and the other one the two bedrooms/corridor.
    Pros:
    +quite silent
    +big container for water
+adding 1 degree in the room (so I don’t leave the heating on that much in winter anymore)
+perfect to dry your clothes inside in winter
+I have the first one since 2014 and still working fine. Though I can feel he’s getting a bit tired and not sucking water as fast as the new one i bought.
    Con:
    – could have a setting to get the right humidity percentage.
    – WiFi controllers but maybe I’m asking too much! 🙂
    That’s about it really
So would definitely recommend this dehumidifie

This dehumidifier is simply excellent. It operates quietly, you can sleep in the same room without a problem. In 24h it collects around 4 litres of water and I can really notice a difference in humidity level in our bedroom. Before the walls were wet, there was condensation on windows every morning despite double-glazing film on them. Now there is no earthy smell of mould and I can even dry laundry overnight by switching on the laundry mode. Before I was desperate every time the temperature outdoors dropped and caused severe condensation. Now I do not mind any weather as I know I have this mighty machine to hand:) I can recommend this dehumidifier to anyone who experiences similar problems to the ones I used to have. You will not regret buying this product.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis device has been great for my home and has lasted for many years. It has never failed. It collects water very well and the tray is easy to pull out and you just pour the water away down the sink and slot the drawer back in and it automatically carries on working. You can have it at half power or full power depending on how fast you want it to work. I usually have it running on half power during the winter so it is keeping the damp at bay, and I put it on full power if I am drying clothes inside on the radiators. I am going to get a second dehumidifyer so I dont have to keep carrying it between rooms, but this time I will go for a cheaper model as you can get “mini” ones for about 50 now which seem to have good reviews. I can’t fault Ecoair though and I have always been happy with this device.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis is the fourth one of these lovely machines we have bought – not because they wear out, but because they are so good and the kids ‘borrow’ them. Quite simply – they work a treat. Not only do they clear a room of damp or condensation, but they are also a very good way of drying a batch of washed clothes. There are two basic controls – one works in the same way as a thermostat except it monitors the moisture content of the air. The other offers standard speed (just a faint hum) or a noisier “turbo” setting. Emptying the two litre tank is easy and the water, being pure, is perfect for watering plants. Every so often…say once a month…the filter needs vacuuming to get rid of lint. I don’t do that, I just bang it gently on a wall outside so that the lint drops to the floor. Add to the other advantages the fact that the machine can be carried from one floor to another pretty easily and you have the perfect dehumidifier.
