    My parents bought one and recommended it over a ring doorbell. The video and sound is clear. I charge it every 3-4 months only because I love spying on the neighbours so much. Don’t need to subscribe to anything either.

    Brilliant doorbell with no monthly cos
    So pleased with this doorbell. It was easy to set up, it notifies you each time a human comes within the vicinity of your front door, even if they don’t press the bell. You link the doorbell to your phone via an app and can just delete any activation events, or save them, you can take pictures of anyone too. If someone presses the bell, you can see who it is and talk to them without opening the door. You can give viewing access to your kids without giving them the full functionality. All this with no monthly cost, brilliant! The only thing you do need to do is clear the memory every so often so it doesn’t clog up with unwanted activations, but it’s easy to do.

    Good Resolution but Slow Loading
    The camera is excellent and the battery life is amazing but trying to get the camera to load (on different networks I tried it too) and it takes from 5-10 seconds for it to load which isn’t great if someone is waiting at the door. Otherwise it’s great, knowing who is at your door without opening it first is a necessity nowadays I feel. I recommend.

    1. No monthly payment, video encrypted on the device
    2. Human detection works rather nicely.
    3. Minimum false alarms
    4. Can plug it into an external 12v power source

    1. Did not work with an existing doorbell chime
    2. Battery does not last as expected and while charging there is no doorbell for a whole day.
    3. Did not work with the Home Assistant app. at least not like the Blink

    This is the second doorbell I’ve purchased for a family member as I was so happy with mine. Easy to set up and use, in addition to being a great security feature. I would highly recommend this product.

    Not bad but a few issues
    Ok had this about a year now, picture quality during the day is very good. Night is good but is affected by one of the issues Iv had.
    First issue, condensation builds up on the inside of the lens. During the day it makes everything cloudy, at night the ir make it useless. Support suggest bringing it in for a couple of days to dry out. And how am I supposed to know someone’s at the door!
    The feed is sometimes slow to load, I’m fairly confident my network is stable enough to load it at a decent speed.

    Great Overall but slow
    This video doorbell is brilliant as far as it stores the video on your phone once the motion sensor kicks in, so you don’t need to buy storage.
    The video quality is very good, and the night vision is very clear and easy to see everything.
    The motion sensor is very good, and the audio quality is also ver7y good.
    There is a delay between the doorbell picking up motion and it getting to your phone or home hub display of about 20 seconds on average, which is not ideal when you have someone waiting at the door.
    There is also a delay in the voice transmission between the bell and your phone.
    But it is an excellent buy and does its job well.

    Very easy to install and get running
    The doorbell was easily mounted and comes with an additional wedge that allows you to angle the doorbell.

    The motion detection is good however triggers even when something happens outside of the watch area.

    The app is easy to use and link to Alexa as well.

    Finally, a Video Doorbell that works
    This does actually seem to work (unlike the original Eufy 2k battery doorbell I tried, and the Google one I also tried). Eufy’s user manual is pretty poor and set-up was really messy – they could do so much better on this. I have also set mine up to operate the “mechanical” (solenoid-driven) door chimes and I don’t think that is working properly. That said, the base unit is very loud so it’s not a problem and might possibly be drowning out the chimes. Connection to my phone and my Apple Watch is very effective. The movement sensor is very sensitive

    Works well with Byron 776 8v chime and my existing wiring, easy to setup
    I replaced my 6v hardwired chime with 8v Byron 776 and I can confirm that for me it works flawlessly to power this version of the Eufy 2k doorbell. It keeps the battery topped up without having to give it a second thought. I really like the concept of ‘no subscriptions’ and this was the main reason I chose to purchase this model over the competition. It was relatively straight forward to install, and I reused all of my existing wiring. The only slight hiccup was an issue where the setup guide wouldn’t progress past ‘select chime’ and just kept flashing up a ‘set failed’ message, I pressed the back button and it skipped ahead through the tutorial anyway as I was all setup. The app is clear and straight forward. I appreciate the fact that it is compatible with my indoor chime, so for those in the family who aren’t interested in the tech, it works just the same as it always did, press the button and hear a chime, but for those of us more interested we can optionally check the video feed and use the advanced features.

    Hi

    I don’t mind admitting i had low expectations when I purchased this and was convinced I would be sending it back. I currently have a ring doorbell installed by the subscription forced me to look elsewhere. I settled on this doorbell camera. It arrived as expected and I must confess it was very well boxed and looked very premium. Installation was a breeze, so simple and exactly the way these things should be. I had the camera mounted and working in under 30 minutes. A few minutes later and Alexa was proudly announcing someone was ringing the doorbell. The notification was very quick on the app, motion zone are accurate and battery life seems to good but difficult to comment on this as I have not had it long enough.

    Safe to say the ring is consigned to the cupboard never to see the light of day again.

    I can recommend this doorbell camera, great price, great app, great functionality there is nothing not to like

    Everything but the sound quality is perfect. It's a bit hard to hear (both ways)
    Easy to install. Easy to set up. Easy to use. Anyone can get this running. No monthly fees, it works anyways. Good picture, even at night. Comes bundled with a chime that goes on the inside of the house. The chime connects to Alexa, the echo dot will play a sound and say “There is someone at the door bell” I named it door bell in the app.

    Very happy with this device.

    The one downside is the audio. It works, and it is adequate, but I had hoped for a slightly better quality.

    Substantial product’s and plenty of videos to assist with installation if you are unsure. Charge battery before installing outside as they don’t come fully charged. Easy to install along with the eufy app for the phone. Mine is set to detect human movement only so don’t get false activations from cars and cats! Every human visitor gets a mini video which stores in the base unit, review, delete or share. Battery is doing as advertised with no problems so far after nearly two weeks use. Night vision works. Has alarm mode as well that you can set. More than just a doorbell. May even expand the system to utilise the other eufy home security products which link into this base unit. Alexa interfaces with it as well if you don’t want to check your smartphone when someone turns up at your door.
    All in all I am very happy with my purchase.

    Simple to use and good quality footage
    Was looking for a video door bell and really didn’t want to be tied in to a monthly subscription.
    The Eufy systems came up in my research and were on sale in the recent Prime event so decided to jump in.
    It’s comes well packaged and the build quality appears to be of high standard. Set up was very easy with simple to follow instructions. From box to fully set up took me about 45 minutes and was hassle free.
    Local storage is great to have and I guess keeps the subscription fees away. It does require Internet access though so you can access it through the smart phone app. I would question how Eufy plan to keep the app supported in the future with no subscription fee but this is their current access to apps and storage is fee free.
    The picture quality is very good and the app allows you to adjust detection zones to avoid picking up every persona and car going past your house. Night vision is fairly decent and not grainy like some systems. Battery life of the door bell seems OK, having dropped just 5% in a week despite me playing around with it non stop. The door bell can be wired in also if you prefer.
    Overall, very happy with this system.

    Fantastic reassurance for elderly relatives!
    After a recent scare my grandparents decided they wanted a video doorbell for their security and peace of mind. They aren’t very tech savvy so I did some research and purchased this one. It was very easy to install and I was able to download the app onto my grandparents’ phones and teach them to use it. It is simple enough where they feel comfortable with it. And I also have the app so I can access it in case of emergency. A huge relief and peace of mind for our whole family. Highly recommend!

    Not bad . . . Needs better, more secure anti theft battery
    Pleased with the free data storage and the unit is fairly easy to set up with good audible ring tone.
    The battery and unit are a one piece unit and there isn’t a secure anti theft bracket or lock meaning it can easily be stolen.
    The company needs to design a lockable bracket and or make it so that it can’t be stolen and reused.

    Good battery doorbell which you can also connect to your house mains.
    You can hardwire this doorbell camera into your existing doorbell setup or use an adaptor to plug into the house mains.

    My previous battery doorbell needed re-charging every few days due to being so close to the main road (it was setup to record all motions due to it also being used as surveillance on my side garden, not just a camera doorbell). I was looking for something that I could hardwire into my house mains and wanted the homebase to back up the recordings. Another good thing about this doorbell (and other Eufy cameras) is that you don’t need to pay a monthly subscription.

    Because I didn’t have an existing doorbell setup, I purchased an 8-24vac AC 1000mAh Wired Transformer (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B099W7G5RK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1&pldnSite=1) and plugged it into my house mains. Installing and setting up the Eufy 2k camera doorbell is super easy. (I also purchased an Eufy 2k angled mount wedge to allow for a better viewing angle from eBay).

    I’m happy with my purchase and the video quality.

    Great resolution but motion detection inconsiste
    The resolution on this doorbell cam is fantastic. The night vision is really clear. The motion detection is extremely fiddly though. I’ve had mine for 2 months and still haven’t found the setting that works best for me. It either picks up motion every 5 minutes or not at all. I set a motion zone in my front garden. My partner came home, parked his car in the drive and walked into the house and I didn’t get a single alert. I now have it set to a higher sensitivity and it means I get about 50 alerts a day (every time a car drives past the house) which is a bit annoying. Even tried ‘human only’ detection but tested it by leaving the house and coming back and it didn’t detect me. Hoping a software update improves this over time

    Good, subscription free battery doorbell
    I was looking for a battery powered doorbell which was also subscription free and discovered the Eufy Camera Doorbell.
    The doorbell is easy to install and works well. The first few months the battery was lasting less than a month which I wasn’t happy about but after tweaking the settings so that it was still effective but also made the battery last longer I’m now getting just under 3 months of use from one charge. The batteries are built-in rechargeable via USB (which you can do from the homebase if desired).
    When someone rings the doorbell it’s near instant notification through to my phone, although I’ve given up using the Echo Show to display the doorbell camera as by the time it’s connected I could have gone and answered the door.
    The app is OK. It’s functional. I’ve also got some other eufy cameras and in terms of controlling them the app is lacking basic features (like being able to combine geofencing with a schedule), the geofence feature also seems to work consistently to arm the devices but never works to disarm them so I always have to do that manually, but they shouldn’t affect doorbell operation.
    Overall this is a relatively cheap, subscription-free, battery powered doorbell which doesn’t look too bad (it’s not as attractive as the Arlo or Google one) and functions as well as you need a doorbell to.
    I did have an issue where the protective glass cover over the camera came loose approaching the end of my warranty period so I contacted Eufy and they were great and quick at sending out a replacement unit.

    The video Doorbell was fairly easy to set up. It works well advising you if there is a person near the bell in the front garden. It doesn’t pick up a person 100% of the time but on the whole it woks well. It is a good idea to snooze it so it doesn’t alert you constantly when there is someone working in the front garden.

    Pleased with video doorbell, but...
    This is a motion doorbell, so only goes into action when someone comes down the pathway to front door. There have been instances where the doorbell hasn’t gone off on my mobile while I have been out, which is a bit frustrating. Also, the signal doesn’t always connect to doorbell screen even if a signal is available. So that can be a little annoying. However, by and large it does work and does what it says on the box, despite a few glitches.

    I’ve had this doorbell for over a year and it is fantastic! Everytime someone rings it shows on iPhone and therefore my apple watch too. The battery life is amazing but you have to adjust the settings. I just checked and is on 42% battery and the last charge was 150 days ago and that’s happened during the winter months too! Really happy with this purchase and the quality of the images to get are excellent too.

    I have been using the Ring doorbell for the past couple of years and had nothing but trouble with it loosing Wi-Fi, extremely slow response times etc plus the 50 yearly fee. So Switched to the eufy doorbell with Homebase (what a difference) does everything the ring does but works better & no 50 subscription every year. I should have got it years ago

    I was sceptical at first and it took a little while to get everything to sync with the app and wifi etc but like with most things it can be easily resolved by a quick internet search. Once up and running this has worked really well. I’ve had to reset once because motion detection wasn’t working correctly but once reset it’s been working fine. Have recharged once in c.3 months so battery is preforming well. The quality of the video is good and motion detection only picks up humans. Communicating to the door bell via the app also works well. Overall I would happily recommend this to anyone who’s looking for an alternative to a subscription video door bell.

    Easy to install with a great picture
    Both setting this up and attaching in to the wall was super easy to do. I love the fact I don’t have to pay a subscription fee to keep recordings and its wireless! The picture is extremely clear during the day and at night. It can take a while to get the motion detection just right especially if you live next to a busy road with a lot of foot traffic. The hub itself works well and adding more cameras to it is simple. If you are concerned about home security you can’t really get any better than this.

    After reviewing other video door bells decided to try this one. Exceeded expectations, easy to set up works seamlessly so going to be adding more cameras to the home base.
    Once set up through Ethernet cable change to wi fi and control of area and sensitivity a doddle , great picture and audio .Friends have other door bell however they pay a monthly/ yearly fee for access to videos !? the videos are stored locally so no running costs Highly recommend this product .

    Excellent video doorbell system
    Have had this doorbell for over a week now and it’s been faultless. Was really easy to set up and use straight out of the box. The camera looks really smart on the front door frame and the home base unit is well designed also, it was not as large as I was expecting either which was good. We’ve had no issues with connectivity, the router/home base unit is probably 10m away with a couple of walls in between so very impressive. There is a lot of functionality with the detection, you can alter the sensitivity, set it to detect everything that moves or just people, designate a detection zone, set a sleep period etc. The quality is very good, no problems at all either night or day picking out people’s faces. Our drive is about 15m long and the IR on the camera illuminates everything to the road really well at night. The chime from the base unit is loud enough to be heard throughout the downstairs and to the upstairs landing so we have no need for an additional chime repeater unit. We haven’t used the bell to speak to anyone that has rang it yet but when we set it up and had a play around it seemed loud and clear with no delay. The notifications to our phones have been near enough instant, although I expect this will depend on the mobile signal strength wherever you are outside the home. After 8 days the battery is reading 93% so the estimate of 120 days battery life is probably not far off the mark but this will all depend on how often it is triggered and what detection settings you have. The best thing about this eufy set up is there is no subscription, everything is saved locally to your base unit. If it lasts 6 years it will pay for itself in subscription savings alone.

    Not a frustration-free experience
    It works as intended and I’m on the whole happy with it. Some gripes though:

    – It takes 5-10 seconds from when you get a notification on your phone to actually “talking” to someone. Those prime delivery guys ain’t got no time for that! So now I just don’t bother try to answer that way, if I’m home I get off my butt, if I’m not home, then I miss a visitor. Big deal?

    – Reviewing videos, whether motion detected or door rings, takes ages and usually fails. I need to hit retry a few times before it actually works. I’ve found that moving the home hub device closer to a wifi signal improves this latency, but still not a great user experience even then.

    – Removing the door bell for charging is a pain. I’ve broken the pin that comes with it, I’m now using safety pins etc. But it always takes a good few minutes of jiggling about with neighbours walking past wondering what my obsession with my door bell is since I’m out there every Saturday night caressing the bottom of it for an abnormal amount of time.

    The journey began poorly I had a delay issue, where by after somebody pressing the bell and me accepting it to view the live image there would be a horrendous delay before connecting and a laggy experience in call, fortunately I figured out this issue was at my end due to “double natting” its all sorted now.

    Answering a ring on the phone to viewing a live Image takes approx 3 to 5 seconds, and talking back and forth with the person is pretty seamless.

    Motion detection works fairly well, only issue is the camera can’t show you any pre recorded footage of the visitor walking up to the door, so unless they hang about you normally catch them in the act of walking away more often than not, I accept this as part of its quirkiness as it is a battery doorbell and can’t run the camera continuously, also secondly I have full cctv around the home so I have options.

    The clarity of the footage is great to watch back from the hub and its still pretty clear even with poor mobile reception when viewing live.

    It’s integration with alexa is rubbish imo, I have an echo show 8 and it takes an eternity to connect to the video doorbells love feed and sometimes it fails altogether, eufy need to improve that to the standard of ring, but maybe its a limitation at amazon’s end to snuff the competition.

    2.5 months in and the battery is sitting on 35% I feel that I could squeeze 1 more month out of it. Although this isn’t a great representation of battery life as its still on its first charge.. and when I installed it initially I had the issue mentioned above so I tinkered alot with it plus loads of novelty bell presses from the wife/daughter untill in sank in that it’s not a toy lol
    So I think with a fresh charge I may be able to eek out 4+ months.

    Lastly I do live in a cul-de-sac so I don’t have too many motions (1882 to be exact) triggers that depletes battery, mostly just the postman, and neighbours coming in and out and anyone entering and leaving the house.

    Lastly would I recommend it? I bought my mother one and she loves it so hope that answers your question.

    2.5 months in and the battery is sitting on 35% I feel that I could squeeze 1 more month out of it. Although this isn’t a great representation of battery life as its still on its first charge.. and when I installed it initially I had the issue mentioned above so I tinkered alot with it plus loads of novelty bell presses from the wife/daughter untill in sank in that it’s not a toy lol
    So I think with a fresh charge I may be able to eek out 4+ months.

    Lastly I do live in a cul-de-sac so I don’t have too many motions (1882 to be exact) triggers that depletes battery, mostly just the postman, and neighbours coming in and out and anyone entering and leaving the house.

    Lastly would I recommend it? I bought my mother one and she loves it so hope that answers your question.

    Great pic quality day/night and motion detection. Tuning motion detection is bit tricky though
    I am enjoying the doorbell and it is just fantastic and true to its claims. However, when it comes to practicality, there are a couple of things to be taken care of.
    Depending on your locality (busy, empty, random across weekdays/ends) it would be a tricky job to fine-tune the motion detector sensitivity and area. If it is busy always or mostly empty, you are in luck. You have more predictability as to how the system should behave. I stay on a road that has a dead-end for motor traffic but quite a number of houses and walkways at the end. On weekends I have a busy street leading to the local pub just around the corner. So I have to set this to the best of both world sensitivity. The garden in front of my house is the boundary set but it still picks up the movement on the footpath just outside the garden, separated by 1-foot tall conifers. This has to do with the sensitivity and I cannot bring that down further due to the reason I mentioned above.
    What happened due to this is too many false positives and battery drain. Eufy’s claim is 6 months battery but that’s for only 2-5 alerts/day. Also maybe when we enable the battery saving feature like no ring light in the night etc.
    But for the quality and remote viewing of alerts with NO monthly subscription charges, this is the best product available in the market currently.

    Pretty good
    So this was my second attempt at buying an alternative to Ring. Its significantly better than the last one! I’ve got a doorbell and camera covering the whole of the front of my house. Recording starts quickly unlike the last one which had a massive delay. Picture quality is very good . Battery life is impressive , the doorbell lated about 2 months but the camera hasn’t needed charging yet . Night view isn’t great but I’ve put a solar light out there and it’s helped . Fingers crossed it will last but all round I’m impressed .

    Have wanted a ring for some time but hubby convinced me to get this one. We are very happy with it. The video and let you know someone is there is ideal. Talking to the caller is easy. Doesn’t matter being at home or away you still get the same service. You don’t pay a subscription which is by far better than what Ring offered. The battery life is long and we have had no problems with the unit.
    You can also build up more cameras for around ur home on the same link as the front door. There are many options.

    So chuffed we have it for peace of mind.
    I’m disabled and can’t always get to the door so it’s handy to chat to the house caller.

    I highly recommend Eufy security video bell.

    Phenomenal piece of kit!
    Brilliant purchase and no monthly fees to keep it running.

    I managed to set it all up in under half an hour (including set-up of the doorbell and home base and fixing the doorbell to our door).

    I run it wirelessly and everything works so smoothly. The picture is wide enough to capture the entire front of our home and the driveway.

    The night vision is phenomenal and the sound is crystal clear. You can watch a live feed at any time through your phone and receive notifications with any real-time events.

    You can adjust the sensitivity of the motion sensor, so it doesn’t activate at the slightest thing. It will make it clear if the trigger event was from a human, making my wife and I feel very secure any time we’re away.

    5 stars from me.

    This doorbell was excellent compared to the Ring that I had. I say ‘was’ because I had to return it. The plus points first. The picture was excellent, no monthly cloud charges as the recordings are saved on the base unit. Install and set up was fairly straight forward. Alerts were pretty quick and connection for live viewing was on par to the Ring.
    The only downside for me, which caused me to have to return it, the base unit kept disconnecting from the wifi, therefore I wasn’t getting notifications and obviously I couldn’t hear the doorbell when somebody rang.
    I think the issue was down to where I live, my WiFi speed is very slow. I have a number of other smart devices connected to my router via WiFi. I think that the demand on my WiFi by all devices was too much for the doorbell and base unit, they seem to require a strong stable/fast wifi connection. The other devices I have meant that the doorbell and base unit simply couldn’t cope. I had to go back to Ring.
    If and when the signal in my area improves sufficiently, I will try again with this doorbell.

    Amazing value
    Super easy to setup. No subscription which is amazing. Went for the 2k camera and it really is crisp and clear image day and night.
    Only thing I miss now, is that Eufy doesn’t have battery powered indoor cams that work with the homebase 2.

    Only thing I would personally like to see is improvement to the anti theft system. Maybe use a special screw and tool.

    Speaking of the Base unit, it has a USB port on the rear, which the documentation says will be able to facilitate additional storage in the future…. That future has been a couple of months away for over a year now, so do not buy this if you will need more that 16GB of storage, there are forum posts suggesting that Eufy could not get the expanded storage working and it will now be in a later version (Hub 3?)

    Other than the storage the only other issue I have had is that people don’t always realise the black box on the wall is the door bell, at night it lights up so is more obvious, but during the day people often just use the knocker.

    Overall if you just want a video doorbell, then this unit will work fine. The storage however would become too small if you had more that one or two additional cameras, as the oldest recording will continually be removed. The more cameras you have the smaller the time frame will be on the device.

    Used for front door easy to set up but do realise that the hub is mains operated so needs power nearby.
    I agree with previous reviews I have read that the screws supplied for fitting doorbell are useless. Do not even try to use them! Other than that superb piece of equipment. Ability to change field of view and sensitivity excellent.
    Do not waste your money on a cheap alternative as I did. Buy cheap buy twice. Cheap one useless!

I’d held off jumping in on video doorbells as I didn’t want to have the hassle of running a power cable to the unit, as I’m not handy when it comes to drilling through walls or messing with electrics. I also had concerns about the wifi connectivity due to the location of my front door in relation to my router. A poor signal would only result in either the doorbell not functioning 100% of the time and the quality of the video being affected by a poor signal.

    I was also concerned with someone just coming along and walking away with what is essentially an expensive doorbell.

    Since upgrading my home wifi to a mesh system it has alleviated any concerns I had about my wifi signal strength.

    If it wasn’t for a prime day offer that I’d been sent my Amazon I wouldn’t have been alerted to the fact that these smart doorbells can run via battery. This peaked my interest so I started researching the various wireless models on the market. After reading all of the reviews I decided on the Eufy model since I have purchased a number of items from Anker in the past so knew that would likely be quality electronics.

    Installation was a breeze, requiring 2 screws to mount the doorbell bracket to my door. The base unit was connected to my wifi router and the setup was completed entirely on the Eufy smartphone app, which was simple to do. All in all it probably took me around 20 minutes to install and set up.

    One thing I quickly realised which I hadn’t considered before is that my existing wireless bell had 2 chime units. This was to allow the doorbell to be heard from anywhere in the house. With these smart doorbells, the main base unit (which is connected to your wifi router) is the chime. Depending on where your router is in your house, this may leave parts of the house unable to hear the doorbell ringing. The doorbell does alert you on your phone so this may alleviate the issue if you (or your family members) always have a phone with them in an area where the base unit chime may not be heard.

    One feature that can be set up (but does require a bit more configuration) is to set up the bell so that is announced on any Alexa capable devices that you have in your home. We were fortunate that we have a number of echo devices throughout our home so whenever the doorbell rings it not only rings on the main base unit but it also alerts all of our phones and our Echo devices. So solution solved for us.

    To get the most out of your doorbell you may want to take advantage of the motion detection features. However to do this you will need to delve further into the configuration and make some adjustments otherwise you may find that you are getting a lot of false alerts, especially if your doorbell is positioned in a way that it will pick up people or vehicles that are moving past. You also need to understand that the more alerts you receive the more frequently you will need to remove the doorbell to charge the internal battery.

    However, once you have set up the bell just the way you want it, it works very well. I have set it up so that if someone approached my door but doesn’t press the bell, it won’t send me an alert but it will record a short 10 second video clip of whoever it was at my door. If someone presses my bell, it sends an alert to all of my devices and starts recording. At this point I can choose to open the alert on my phone, see who is at the door and if required, talk to them. This is obviously very useful if you are not at home and you want to instruct a delivery driver to leave a parcel etc. I installed my doorbell around 2.5 weeks ago and my doorbell battery is at 68%. To be fair I did spend the first 2-3 days playing around with it a lot more and honing the settings so in reality I would say it should be at around 75% for the way that I have it set up now.

    If you have an Echo Show device (or FireTV) you can configure this to automatically show on that device who is at the door when the bell rings. If you want to be really clever you can set it up to automatically show when it detects motion at your doorbell so you can actually see the person approaching before they’ve pressed the doorbell.

    There is 16GB of internal storage in the main base unit for video recording purposes. Once this is full up it will start overwriting the earliest video clips. Access to any video recorded is accessible on your phone through the Eufy app at any time. There are no additional cloud storage charges like some other systems. It’s a shame that they didn’t include an SD card slot on the device to allow you to add additional storage if you wanted to hold onto footage for longer. I will point out that any footage captured can be downloaded to your phone/tablet and saved off or sent elsewhere very easily from the app.

    The quality of the image and the captured video (2k) is very good and at night the night vision (Black & White image) works very well.

    I was that impressed with how the system worked that as soon as I showed it to my mother she wanted me to order her one. She’s 67 and managed to install and set hers up with very little help from myself, however she has been used to installing other smart devices such as Echo’s and smart bulbs herself over the last year or so.

    I have 2 slight negatives. The first is that there is nothing to stop someone walking up to my door, unclipping my doorbell and walking off with it since it is not secured in any way. To be honest, if it was secured, it would make removal for charging a bit of a pain. Secondly, there is a bit of a delay in capturing video from the moment either someone presses the bell of the motion detection kicks in. This is because the device has to detect and then send the instruction to record via wifi to the base unit. They are no real biggies that would stop me from recommending this device though and I suspect that all similar systems would suffer the same issues.

    I would highly recommend this item.

    Perfect Protection without subscriptio
    Absolutely love our doorbell. The battery easy lasts 2 months on a full charge on the 30 second clip motion detection mode. Video quality is great, doesn’t have the annoying Ring brand chime and I love not having to trust Amazon or Google with my video recordings, instead storing them safely on an SD card. Has brought great peace of mind to our household. Would highly recommend Eufy products to anybody.

    Yes, it occasionally recognises car wheels as people, but I’m not on a busy road and it’s probably only 4 or 5 times in 4 months. The chime is plenty loud enough, though I wish they’d let you upload your own.

    The still captures and video events are good, and the app is easy to use.

    Couple of minor gripes. One one occasion the Eufy servers were down which stopped me accessing the saved footage, even though it is saved on the hub. Also using Alexa as a doorbell chime is hit and miss, one one occasion the Alexa notification was an hour after the doorbell ring. Likely an issue with the messaging between the two rather then the product itself.

    Good build quality and packaged well, so pleased with the purchase.

    I have the hub connected to the router via ethernet and no concerns with connection dropouts

    Really good product.
    So it’s been about 6month since I got this working and it works really well. The initial issue was that I was unable to find the base station. EUFY customer was excellent. A long story short is that the base station will only connect to 2.4GHz and since I have a Mesh connected to the Virgin hub it could not detect the 2.4Ghz properly, it kept trying to connect to the 5GHz. To resolve this, I created a 2.4GHz WIFI connection on the Virgin Hub and I connected my Phone/Tablet to this WIFI Connection, ran the app an the rest is history.

    Battery lasted around 85 days from 100% to 4% using Optimal Surveillance, in this time it detected around 3000 events.

    PROS
    1. Picture quality is pretty good (real-time feed and playback)
    2. Doesn’t need a subscription

    CONS
    1. There can be a bit of a lag sometimes in the detection
    2. Battery can take a bit of time to recharge, an overnight charge did not fully charge it. mind you my battery was at 4% – I would probaly now charge it when it goes to around 30% this way an overnight charge would be suffice.

    Would I buy this again .. YES
    Would I buy this over a Ring .. YES .. I have the wired Pro version which is now used as a monitor for my Garden Shed.

    Finally got round to fitting the doorbell permanently in a self made casing , I bought the battery version but have hard wired it to an approved power supply so no need to ever recharge it.
    It is AMAZING. The video quality is superb, the audio is almost illegal (you can hear neighbours in their gardens from 50m away if you use it via desktop and an app , it also works with Bluestacks . The night vision is fantastic and the controls in the settings menu is very comprehensive.
    The Homebase reconnects swiftly by itself if there is a BB dropout. There is a tiny lag in video and audio of about a second but otherwise I cannot fault it. I have the Indoor 2K pan and tilt camera as well and all work great in unison.

    It is AMAZING. The video quality is superb, the audio is almost illegal (you can hear neighbours in their gardens from 50m away if you use it via desktop and an app , it also works with Bluestacks . The night vision is fantastic and the controls in the settings menu is very comprehensive.
    The Homebase reconnects swiftly by itself if there is a BB dropout. There is a tiny lag in video and audio of about a second but otherwise I cannot fault it. I have the Indoor 2K pan and tilt camera as well and all work great in unison.

    I think the negative reviews are actually jealous Ring owners or workers Haha.

    I am more than happy to let everyone know that since the demise of flashplayer it was only possible to view on PC using Bluestacks but I have now discovered that Eufy have updated the software online and the new security app for Eufy works directly with your logged in and registered Eufy cameras and doorbells.

    Security and peace of mind
    I brought this product after much consideration and reading many reviews about similar products and decided this was the best one . I’m not disappointed . Easy set up , no subscriptions , great camera quality, no lag in notifications and you can set up face recognition, pet recognition and many other extras . Has definitely given me peace of mind , the whole household feels a bit safer with the knowledge we have a security camera . Highly recommended for your peace of mind .

    Amazing Product - Even better Service!
    The product is superb – both the build quality and the software (the part that really makes the product ‘plug and play’) have both been designed from the ground up. You can just tell it has all been created to bring about ‘a proper outcome’ rather than something that ‘kind of works if you are lucky but I wouldn’t bet on it’ as so many products do these days.
    However I had a problem a little while down the line with the signal strength / connectivity of the unit.. so why 5 stars you are thinking.
    Here’s why – problems happen, stuff goes wrong – that’s the rock on which we live, that’s life.
    However it’s how these problems are dealt with that will always be my benchmark.
    So I call the customer support line and get through to Rion.
    OK so the product was good up until now but a really strong measure of the quality of a company is it’s people, and it does not get better than this!
    Rion knew the product, inside out. He was adaptable to the situation (he could tell straight away that I am in the tech industry and kindly worked with me rather than following a corporate flow chart to resolve my issues) – The problem got resolved, the faulty part replaced and I would recommend this product and all the people behind it whole heartedly.

    There are other products that do similar things in the market today (I have tried some of them)
    but it’s not all about the name that you buy, it’s the product and people behind it.

    Eufy / Rion, you have a loyal customer here!

    Great camera. Awful wall bracket bracke
    To put any doubts I had to bed, this battery camera can also be wired to existing doorbell wiring – dependant on transformer voltage.

    Video is Crystal clear. Both day and night. App is very quick to notify when someone is at the door.

    The bracket the doorbell sits in is an awful design. Uses a SIM card type tool to release the doorbell to charge it, but you need the finger strength of a jockeys left hand to get it out – so much so that I would of returned the doorbell If it hadn’t been for the fact I wired it in and wouldn’t ever need to take the doorbell off the bracket. It maybe designed as an “anti theft” system, but it’s only sitting in the wall in 2 raw plugs. If someone wanted to steal it then it could be easily pulled off.

    Great wireless doorbell without subscriptio
    Took 2-3 days to get in the right spot as we’re elevated from the pavement with school activity going past twice a day. Now in the right place and motion detection is working well with an appropriate exclusion zone. I would advise temporary mounting until you’re sure it’s in the right spot for your door position relative to driveway/pavement and approaching visitors.
    Doorbell functionality is faultless, video quality excellent day and night and audio is very clear too.
    Amazon asked to rate wifi signal but this is dependant on where you site the base station so very subjective.
    Need to remember this is not a surveillance camera, it’s a doorbell at which it functions well and is good value compared to other makes that require a storage subscription. To function as a doorbell it has to be mounted in a particular place which probably won’t be the best place to monitor any/all activity in the vicinity of your door.
    One major flaw that I didn’t know about until I read the support forums is that if someone decides to forcibly rip it from its mounting, they can press and hold the reset button on the back which will then erase all your recordings. Bad design flaw which Eufy have said they’ll release a firmware fix for at some point. However, like I said, it’s a doorbell so if you’re worried about losing your collection of postie and Amazon delivery recordings then it’s not the product for you. Buy a proper security camera.

It did sometimes capture people walking by on the very fringes of the zone however, so I’ve since reduced the zone further to stop this. Charging, by the way, is a breeze; releasing the unit from it’s mounting bracket with the supplied pin (think a smartphone SIM port release pin on a slightly larger scale) and sticking it on overnight, or until the circular status light turns blue. The release pin presents well (in the form of the Eufy logo) and is magnetised, so you can stick it on your fridge and avoid losing it – nice touch.

    The unit itself feels well made and has a decent weight behind it (surprisingly so). Was super easy to install. Night vision is better than I expected, although I wouldn’t say the quality (day or night) is “2K”, subjectively speaking, but it’s still admirably good and satisfactory for a doorbell camera.

    One drawback from being battery operated and thus not constantly recording is that the motion detection takes a second or two to activate. Might not sound like much but it’s enough for someone walking onto your property to have made it a good portion of the way to your door by the time it kicks in (unless you live in a mansion with a driveway a mile long). Still – it’s a limitation of any type of camera operating on this power-saving, battery-powered basis, and you’d need to invest hundreds or more in a proper CCTV system to combat that.     GREAT customer support and camera quality
    This is a great alternative for other more expensive brands ;), and no having to pay for storage either. We did have a problem with the sound stopping working on the camera but Eufy customer support were amazing! Shout out to Nina. They first recommended some settings but when that didn’t work they replaced the camera with no hassle. The new one is working fabulously so far, only slight downside is that there is a delay in the ringing of the bell reaching my phone to alert me but our wifi isn’t great so that might be the cause. It would also be great to be able to have another doorbell alert that doesn’t have to be plugged into the wifi hub so we can put one further in the house as ours is currently near the door and don’t always hear the bell go. BUT it’s a great product, easy to use and the support for any problems is fantastic 🙂

    Bought after much deliberation on best way to go.
    There’s a slight delay between notification and alert on the phone but less than a second.
    So impressed went on to build system further with security light and also the 2c cameras (3).
    All works seamlessly and like the fact storage is mine and not based on any subscription.

    2k door bell… game changer binned my ring door bell for this definitely not disappointed

    Battery definitely not as suggested. I am charging every 2weeks only draw back (roughly 6 motions per day)

    Definitely prefer it to ring. Wish I could give it a 5 star.

    Works well but there are no operating instructions
    The unit is good. There are no instructions on how to set it up and it is not intuitive but by going on line and asking specific questions it is simple to get the required set up. The default activated every time someone passed by around 50′ away but the area surveilled can be adjusted to avoid multiple notifications. The night vision is reasonable and persons are easily identified. The Wi-fi works but the Homebase as only 3 metres away from the door so I cannot comment on range

    Only had a few days.. But very very happy so far.. Vision good, options good, base unit chime bolume adjustable. Minimal delay.. Quick two way talking.. Have a funny set up where our door faces our neighbors so to protect there privacy I’ve mounted on the back fence, this also gives a earlier warning as it covers the 7ft path from the street.. Can’t comment on battery, but very easy set up.. I have android my Mrs has apple.. I did the unit and both phones in under 5mins.. I have admin rights she doesn’t but you can have two people both have admin rights.. The only difference is admin gets to fiddle with settings and non-admin just gets alerts watches videos and has two way talk… I can’t comment on server issues which was one of the reviews I read but no problems so far.. Its actually so good I’m debating forking out an additional 70 for a back garden cam.. I just tested right now and the night vision is pretty dam good. I like the fact that you can live stream anytime what you see.. And you can get audio without people knowing you have audio.. So if you have suspicious characters hanging about by your front door you can hear what they are saying without them knowing.. I hope the battery lives up to expectation.. But the home hub has a handy 2a usb output so pretty quick charging and you can use it for phone and other bits too.. I have another cam from another brand I bought as a test and it won’t allow you to multi delete clips so the process is painstaking.. But on this hold down a clip and highlight them all to delete in one go.. Much better. I don’t want to speak to soon but I’d say worth the 140 price ticket.. (got it reduced) and love the fact that no wires needed.. This was the decider for me as I only rent so can’t be drilling holes and running wires all over the place.. So far so good.. FYI.. Initial set up tells you to plug in the home hub to your router on set up.. Initially the WiFi signal from my router to my fence wasn’t strong enough so I had to move my whole router.. However after I did this I then realised the home hub has built in WiFi and it only needs to be plugged in for initial set up so now returned and all is well.. I believe the home hub is where the cam gets its signal so it acts a a ext in effect but don’t quote me on that.. Ps no Monthly subscription and local storage so no security risks is also a major plus for me..
