Good mixer for price but change the paddle!
I have brought many of these mixers. It has lots of power for mixing buckets of Ames and filler. Lasts us between a year to year and half so for under 100 brilliant when it breaks we buy another. Our Bosch and mega mixer ones are more powerful but we’re always being repaired every year and were 4x the price. Just change the paddle as it’s crap, mixes up rather than down and is tiny
Used for years and would recommend
I been using the drill for about 4 years, I don’t do as much plastering as I used too, I bought it because it was much lighter than my old Mikita and it’s much easier to use and way less stress on my body. Keep it clean, don’t abuse it by having the right thickness in your mixes and it’s a pleasure to use. I use a cable tie to keep the cord away from the bucket, I always use large plasterers buckets and it handles them a breeze. It’s light so easier to lug from the van to the jobs, even up flights of stairs. The paddle does cut into plasters buckets a bit but a minor adjustment in technique sorted that out and my buckets are good quality anyway so can take it.
easy mixe
bought this instead of a drum mixer. Now I mix all cement in a wheel barrow. Much more convenient and saves time. Can now mix next to where I,m working. Very robust and good quality
Good mixing drill
Good drill have used this brand drill to mix screed for a long time now. Had to buy another one as the cable got to damaged where it enters the casing and wasn’t turning on properly. That’s it’s only downside.
Great for multi Finnish 👍 one bag at a time ☝️
Had the 240v one before and the 230v does the same job generally mixing a bag of multi Finnish at a time my old one lasted about 5/6 years so a great purchase
Great mixe
Really good mixer. I have used to mix lime mortar pointing with sharp sand which it blasted through in no time. Wanted a smaller volume rather than a load in my rotating mixer 90 Ltrs. Load.
It will not be used by me too often so I can’t speak to long term use but other reviewers claim it’s good. Build quality is good but it is a plastic moulding so perhaps not suited to clumsy builders…….
Good mixe
Using this mixer for day to day plastering work. Very happy with the power of the tool plus the weight is very light compared to other mixers I have used. You will need a different paddle as the one supplied with the product isn’t great but overall it is the best value mixer I could find.
Thumb's up for quality
I bought the mixer to do site work plastering, the drill has done 6 weeks now mixing 3 times per day 5 days per week , the paddle isn’t the best and I was going to change for a rafina one but it does the job and Ill probably not change it for the duration of the job.
Mix it up a bit....
Got this little mixer for 60 on a lightning deal in November 2015. Saves loads of hard work. gives a good consistency to whatever you are mixing. Variable speed, easy enough to clean…. Well worth it.
I’m very pleased with this mixer. I bought it to mix concrete and mortar for a garden retaining wall and its foundations. It’s sturdily built, with large handles and easily reached and operated speed control dial and power trigger. I particularly like the graduated way the power is applied, with the blade twisting slowly for the first few seconds before building up to full speed. It makes mixing a pleasure rather than a chore.
I bought this as a birthday present for my husband, as he is laying a new patio, and I didn’t really want to buy a full size mixer for him to play with, as we don’t really have the room to store one. He is absolutely delighted with it, and I have a nice tidy garden, with no bright orange eyesore sitting in the middle of it. Win Win! It performs really well mixing the sand and cement, and gives him the mixing speed and ease that he wants.
Fantastic mixer and the variable speed really helps. I’ve used it for plaster , self levelling cement (which is a a lie because it doesn’t self level!), I digress. Also used for tile adhesive. Very pleased with the results for all mixes and it was at least 20 cheaper than screwfix.
My DIY project for the Easter Weekend was re-laying a 20 or so flagstones that make up some steps at the side of my house. It was a toss-up between hiring a cement mixer for the weekend or buying this instead. I decided to go for this paddle mixer as I only needed relatively small amounts of mortar at a time. I found that one builders bucket of mortar at a time was perfect for my rate of work and the paddle mixer made short work of mixing that amount – far easier than doing it by hand. When mixing, the device is comfortable to use – the double handles are easy to grip and vibration is practically zero. Also, noise levels are very low so you won’t disturb the neighbours if you start early.
Once finished mixing, the paddle mixer cleaned up nicely and the shaft and paddle disassemble, making storage easy. I’ve only used it the once so I can’t comment on its longevity but first impressions have given me no cause for concern in this area.
fantastic bit of kit, 35 for a reconditioned paddle mixer, it was brand new, just a little dent on the body, works great, well worth the money, it even came in its own box, mixers plaster and sand an cemet with ease, wud buy another 1 tomorrow, thanks.
Mixe
Bought for my son who is a tiler who finds it so time saving for mixing screed on the job also
we used it the other day to mix up an old pot of paint brillia
I am trained as a plasterer but gave it u four years ago. I have this year bought my own house. The house is Victorian and every inch of the plaster in my house needs hacking off and re-plastering. I therefore needed to invest in a plasterers mixer.
I did not want to spend hundreds of pounds on a high end mixer such as “refina”. I browsed the amazon site as I wanted the postage for free (one of the best things about amazon when purchasing bulky/heavy goods). I read all the reviews and the evolution TWISTER had the best reviews for the price. I have used the mixer to plaster my smallest bedroom. I had to mix dry wall adhesive first to dab the brick walls. Any plasterer knows this is the plaster that needs to be mixed to a thick consistency, The evolution TWISTER did this with ease.
I only have another five rooms and a hall way to plaster, I have confidence that the mixer will cope with everything I need to get done. Defiantly worth the money, I would recommend this mixer.
I have had one of these mixers for a while now. It has mixed tonnes of coloured render and I have smelt the motor burn several times. It still runs. The variable speed is great. It gets 4 stars because the paddle is rubbish It does not mix very well so be prepared to buy a better paddle.
I bought this mixer after attending a plastering course where they have been using this same mixer for five years of constant use and only having changed the brushes once so if mine performs as well I will be happy. It is comfortable to use having a nice wide grip.
