Facile da usar i, ma credo lavori meglio per le zone calde che per le fredde. Io l’ho comprato per individuare gli spifferi e migliorare l’isolamento della mia casa. Inoltre non facile controllare le misure delle temperature che spesso differiscono di un grado.
EDIT: The replacement is even worse, off centre and wonky. Returning for refund. Gutted 🙁
2nd Edit: Flir technical support came back to me again and fixed the issue, not sure why the first chap couldn’t do the same.
Absolutely love what this can do, works mostly well on my Pixel 4a, I can see the hot water pipes in my walls and under my floorboards! Will try with wildlife at some point.
BUT the FLIR One has 2 cameras, one thermal and one digital, allowing it to show a real time outline of what you are looking at. Unfortunately these are not aligned well, they are about a foot out at a distance of 3 metres. I rang Teledyne, they are very helpful but agreed that this needs returning as faulty. The apps are a little flakey too, probably work better if you buy the PRO version.
BUT because I love this so much I have ordered a replacement, fingers crossed it will be better aligned. will update my feedback at a later date when the replacement arrives.
It will be great if the battery life last longer every charge, as people pay the premium for the pro version. It still one of the best thermal cameras in the market.

For home DIY-er, a good buy compared to renting or paying for a scan. Really easy to use and set up. Not sure what happens when the internal battery gets older and doesn’t hold charge as well, not sure if it’s easily replaceable or if it can be charged during use.

Ideal Thermographic camera for most DIY applications
The camera worked well with my I-phone and I-Pad, showing where more or better insulation was required and later to see if it had made an improvement.
It can also be used to check for poor connections on home electrical circuits and consumer units etc.
This works right out of the box, with super-easy set up. The pictures are fascinating and allows me to tend to prioritize and attend to specific deficiencies. This sort of thing should be available to borrow or rent because Once I fix the drafts I might not need it again. If I had friends I would certainly loan it out.

Da hier aber relativ viel geschwurbelt wird, mchte ich betonen, dass diese Wrmebildkamera absolut dafr geeignet im Haus eingesetzt zu werden.
Ich habe eine Wandheizung, und um die Heizungsrohre zu finden ist sie absolut ausreichend (und das bei niedrigen Vorlauftemperaturen)
Was sie noch kann, ist fr mich nicht besonders relevant. Aber ich finde fr den Preis hat sie ihren Zweck mehr als erfllt. Profigerte kosten um einiges mehr und ausleihen um ein Bild aufzuhngen, wird auch irgendwann fad.

Cheapest way to get into digital thermophotography
We bought this to evaluate heat loss in our house during Canadian winters. There are quite a few rather more expensive options but not much in this price range. The version we bought was the Lightning connector variant for iPhones. Charging is via USB-C and takes about an hour from empty to full, which curiously enough is about the same amount of time it drains when you’re using it. The higher end model has a better set of cameras than this one, but the results from this lower end model were perfectly good for our needs. It allowed us to locate heat loss areas pretty quickly and confirm whether or not any action was needed (or possible). It’s also nifty to see where hot or cold water pipes run through the house as well as to check to see if any power lines/outlets/fuse boxes are overloaded (if you can see the latter as being warmer than the surrounding area, they are) One think to keep in mind is that the display on the iphone will calibrate based on all the temperatures in range, so in one photo the blue/yellow/red differential may be dramatically wider than in others (3-4 degree range compared to say 18) which means paying attention to the actual temperature points is essential.

Works fine – does what I want, but appallingly over packaged. It comes with a nice carry case, but why does it need multiple layers of cardboard, plastic, then more cardboard with built in magnetic fastenings etc?
I am using this to make sure my bees are still alive during the winter and to check where they are in the hive which tells me how much food they have. It’s pretty great. For some reason it doesn’t work as well at night through the hives but will for more obvious figures like my dogs. Overall I’m happy with it. I like that you can change color settings and it is very easy to use.

Although I had the right android build and right usb connection the FLIR app would not recognise my phone. Ulefone do a rugged version of my phone with a FLIR 1 camera built in,which helps confuse things. It works well on my son’s phone, a Samsung. Battery life is good. FLIR do ask you to try different things but in the end, I’m going for a refund.

Following a new home purchase, I thought I’d buy the FLIR gen 3 and use my smart phone to make some measurements.
The device is easy to use. Be careful about your measurements though. For example, you will get wrong results if trying to measure the temperature of reflective surfaces (a mirror being the absolute worst case). There is an emissivity option you can tweak though. So, using an emissivity table, you can adjust that through the menu.
“Wired” empirically measured the accuracy to be +-2C (https://www.wired.com/2014/09/testing-accuracy-flir-one/).
On the attached picture, you can see that the hottest spot is at 1.1C. The exterior air temperature at that moment was -9.7C. That is a temperature delta of 10.8 degrees Celsius! Even considering the best error case, that is still an 8.8C temperature delta. I don’t know much about construction, but it seems a lot to me and I’ve reported it. The device allowed me to spot more insulation issues inside around outlets and where it aligns with exterior features such as natural gas outlet and exterior faucet.
Softwares
The softwares, FLIR ONE and FLIR Tools are pretty basic, but allows to generate predefined reports through various templates. There is also a PC program you can install on your computer, which makes it easier to work with the pictures. You need to create an account to get it (FLIR Thermal Studio Suite; free for basic version).

Sorry to say this but after buying this for work for a single video project to see what was going on with a product in IR, this has now become one of my favourite gadgets ever for having fun. Want to see where someone has just walked? No problem? Want to see if a “present” left by a dog or cat in your garden is just laid? No problem? Want to find where your chicken has vanished to (not joking, we used this to find where a chicken was roosting in the hedge, see attached image)? No problem. Want to create fun selfies? No problem. I recommend to any other gadget lover, find whatever excuse you can and get this!

use this for checking thermals in pc builds plugs in to my phone and works well be aware some settings need top be enabled on the phone for the device to work (need to enable OTG connection every time i use it) been after one for some time and I’m not disappointed with its function or the clarity of the image would recommend to anyone that has a use for it.
Handy tracing underfloor hot water leak
It was easy to get this delivered the next day rather waiting a fortnight for specialist company. Excellent outcome though my kitchen / lounge and utility room are now dug up to dehumidify for the next 4/5 weeks.
Picked this up at a very special price and very happy (under AUD$300). The unit shipped from US to Australia within a week. Needs the app on your iPhone or iPad to work, which it does well. Only trick is plugging it into the phone it doesn’t always detect it straight away, so I just remove it then plug in again and it usually works fine the second time.
Obviously the resolution of the thermal sensor is low compared to way more expensive (professional) equipment. So for a few hundred dollars it is still a great tool for checking out where the insulation is missing above the ceiling, or seeing where hot water pipes are in the brick wall.
Also fascinating to see how sensitive the unit is to human touch leaving behind “prints” on other objects.
Saved us money!
The app could use a redesign. But other than that this little gadget saved me a packet in a dispute over insulation quality of some windows we had fitted. We could show where the heat leaks where. Brilliant!

I was able to diagnose a leak and get it taken care of, as well as take some cool photos (geothermal water features around town). The only issue so far is my phone will occasionally freeze. Not sure if fue to the hardware or the app, but it rights itself after about a minute. Not bad at all for the price, and it'll probably save me a good deal of money not having to pay insurance deductible. This is a handy thing to have around; I hope it lasts.

Quality FLIR camera for the price. Does everything I’d expected for a ‘home use’ thermal camera.
It needs to be handled with care as you’d expect for a mobile plug in type camera.

I have used this so many times now and has a broad range of use from home to automotive and much more.
I was at a point in changing my windows for newer ones, using the flir it pinpointed where and how the cold air was getting in the house and was able to rectify.

Great item, already worked out where I have drafts coming in on the front door and the kitchen window, it’s a big outlay but it will pay for its pretty soon by letting me know where I need to seal areas prone to drafts and save on my heating bill.
I have 1 recommendation, look at the picture of my camera in its case, you will see I have cut foam away where the usbc is, this stops you having to retract the USB every time you put it back in the case, also you will see i have removed foam where the switch is, this stops the button being pressed when your putting it back in the case and the battery going flat, I’ve not charged mine for about 3 months and I use it about 2 minutes a day 5 days a week.
This is not a professional grade device, but good enough for home repairs.
Battery life is quite short, so make ready what you want to examine and charge your camera full. There is also small offset between the real and thermal picture but it’s acceptable. Other than that it served the purpose I bought it for.

Ever buy one of those crappy little $20 drones that you have to charge forever only to be able to use it for like 7 minutes? Well the battery on this thing appears to be similarly lame. First off the directions for this thing absolutely suck and may as well not even exist. They tell you to charge the thing for an hour before using it which seems to imply that it will be fully charged at that point, right? Guess again! I’m still not sure exactly how long it takes to fully charge yet. Another thing is that they don’t really tell you what any of the lights on this thing actually indicate. Sometimes they’re orange, sometimes they’re green. Sometimes they flash in seemingly random rapid bursts (which usually can’t mean anything good is happening) and sometimes they’re solid. They don’t even tell you how you can tell it is fully charged. I’m assuming that happens when the green charging LED finally turns off but I don’t no for sure because they didn’t bother to mention it in the instructions!! Even those crappy little $20 drones tell you that much, albeit in broken English.
Other than that it wouldn’t be fair if I didn’t mention that this thing has pretty good image quality and seems to work well but I’ll probably end up returning it because of my lack of confidence in the battery life and charging method especially after reading all the negative reviews related to how these things fail which is usually battery related. $400 may be relatively cheap for this type of product but that doesn’t make it sting any less if it only ends up working for a few weeks or months.
UPDATE: So, in fairness, it looks like the first device I got may have had a defective battery or something like that. I sent it back to Amazon for replacement and the new one provides more realistic reporting of the remaining battery life and actually charges to 100%. Thank you Amazon!!! Adjusting stars to reflect the improved experience.

Buona termocamere entry level venduta in 3 modelli con differenze anche sostanziali (vd sotto).
In tutti i casi la termocamera accoppiata con una fotocamera (di risoluzione molto maggiore) e combina le due immagini in modo da rendere l’immagine pi dettagliata. Si attacca alla porta (microUSB, USB-C o lightning, attenzione a prendere quella giusta) dello smartphone con un connettore di lunghezza adattabile in modo da farla aderire bene. L’app molto semplice e funzionale. L’immagine mostra i contorni dettagliati degli oggetti (presi con fotocamera) combinata con mappa a colori della temperatura (presa da termocamera) e il risultato sicuramente migliore della risoluzione modesta della termocamera. possibile scegliere tra diverse palette di colori ed il range di temperatura si adatta dinamicamente all’oggetto inquadrato. L’app permette anche di avere una misura locale della temperatura in un punto dell’immagine (come mostrato nella foto di un forno con focaccia).
DIFFERENZE TRA I 3 MODELLI
La differenza principale (a parte il prezzo) tra la ONE, la ONE PRO LT e la ONE PRO nella risoluzione e nel range della termocamera:
Risoluzione fotocamera: 1440×1080 (tutti i modelli)
Risoluzione termocamera: 80×60 (ONE e ONE PRO LT), 160×120 (ONE PRO)
Range misurazione termperatura: -20 / +120 C (ONE e ONE PRO LT), -20 / +400 C (ONE PRO, in due range diversi settabili dall’app).
Il prezzo sale dai 250 E circa (ONE) a 310 E (PRO LT) fino a 450 E (PRO).
CONCLUSIONE
La FLIR ONE e la FLIR ONE PRO LT sono praticamente identiche quindi suggerisco la ONE che pi economica. Se volete risoluzione e range di misurazione maggiore la ONE PRO fa al caso vostro (ma a costo quasi doppio).
Attenzione: non vero, come dice qualche recensione, che la ONE PRO non misura oltre i 120 C: bisogna settare il range superiore sull’app e la misura arriva fino a +400 C.

Everything was hard frozen and have used to detect, locate and allow repair of over 10 bursts under tile and about 3-7cm of screed. I am considering the Flir One pro to finish the job but for me MSX is essential as i pull back to take pictures froma as far as i can with markers (duct tape) on the floor to help locate the problems later (digging holes and repair). Starting with a cold floor i flushed warm water through the system and the heat showed maximally from 15-45mins – after that had to leave to cool for at least 24h – saved me ripping the whole floor ou

I really like how compact this product is. It was easy to set up using the app and my iPhone. For the price, the image could be a bit clearer but you can definitely see heat disperse in areas to look out for especially for heating pipes as you can see from my house although I already had an incline where these were. I would recommend this product.
Sono un elettrotecnico e trovo questa camera termica ottima per il prezzo, ovvio che le professionali da migliaia di euro sono un altra cosa ma mi permette di trovare guasti e surriscaldamenti in tempo zero. Si risolvono problemi prima che si presentino, cavi e componenti che si scaldano, anche di pochi gradi, si scoprono facilmente e si sostituiscono prima che il danno sia grave o pericoloso.

Very useful for carrying out building services inspection and building surveys. Very small size that easily fits in a pocket and when coupled to the iPhone X max provides a large image that is easily transferable to PC files for inclusion in reports and printing. Image quality not quite up to standard of IR cameras costing 3 times the price but still adequate for the purpose. The FLIR app works well on the iPhone with the FLIR PRO LT camera. Very useful, good value, recommended.
En general funciona bien, para objetos grandes es excelente. Sin embargo en objetos pequeos la imagen trmica tiene un ligero desfase con la imagen original. Yo la uso como auxiliar para deteccin de fallas en celulares. Si me sirve, pero el desfase de la imagen a veces confunde un poco. La batera no dura mucho. Aproximadamente unos 30 mins

Die Flir one pro2 ist eine durchaus brauchbare IR Kamera. Der Preis findet sich im gehobenen Segment.
Fr alle Interessenten an der Kamera sei der Hinweis erlaubt das die Kamera kein Spielzeug ist. Hochwertige Technik die vom Anwender durchaus ein gewisses Ma an Einarbeitung verlangt. Man sollte sich genau ber die Kamera und deren Anwendungsmglichkeiten informieren… dann ist man nach dem Kauf auch nicht enttuscht.
Die Ergebnisse der IR Fotos sind durchaus als gut zu bezeichnen… immer vorausgesetzt man wei was man wo und wie einstellen muss und wie man die IR Fotos auszuwerten hat.
Eine gute und in diesem Preissegment empfehlenswerte Kamera um Wrmeleckagen u.. zu entdecken und nachzuweisen.

Sehr gut brauchbar funktioniert jedoch nur oberflchlich und nicht bei Stromkabeln in der Wand. Ein Installieren der App ist erforderlich jedoch schnell erledigt. Die App funktioniert gut mit dem Adapter doch ist es ratsam die IPhone Hlle weg zu lassen wenn man das Flier One benutzt. Knopf zum Einschalten auf der Unterseite nicht vergessen… Akku reicht fr ein Einfamilienhaus hlt jedoch nicht lange. Stabile Kunststoffauenhaut. Kommt mit Tasche und Ladekabel es handelt sich jedoch nicht um Mini-HDMI. Der Ansatz der Kamera hat den Stecker zum Laden des 6s plus. Wo kein Kabelladen mehr mglich ist wird sie nicht mehr nutzbar sein also bei WLAN-Aufladbaren-Handy’s ohne Kabelladungsmglichkeit. Fr jedermann geeignet der die Anleitung umsetzen kann. Funktioniert gut und lsst auch Teppichmuster erkennen. Besonders Krperwrmespigellung in Glasscheiben sind interessant anzuschauen. Nicht zum durch Wnde schauen geeignet und die App verlangt recht viele Daten um alle Funktionen zu gewhren. Es ist jedoch auch ohne Datenfreigabefr die App nutzbar. Der Prwis ist zwar hoch jedoch fr ein Appel-Zusatz-Produkt voll OK. Man kann auch manche Nachtsichtgerte anstelle dieses Produktes whlen hat dann jedoch einen kleineren Bildschirm. HD ist nicht so gut und beim 6s plus kommt es zu Schlierenziehung wenn das Gert insgesamt nicht schnell genug wiedergibt was durch wackeln oder zu schnelle Bewegung geschieht. Auch berlastung oder berhitzung des Gertes das man whlt spielt dabei eine Rolle. Wenn man sich Zeit nimmt top.

This camera works well. Its important to make sure you select the correct one for your phone as there is a difference between iOS and Android. It has its own battery which allows it to not drain your phone battery. ITs adjustable neck also allows it to be mounted on any phone regardless of the size of the case.

Brilliant tool, very handy and compared to other larger handheld thermal cameras the picture quality is brilliant. Was a little sceptical but I have to say I doubt I’ll buy anything else again.
The FLIR ONE PRO LT for IOS has got to be one of my best investments. It has saved time and money in both looking for problem spots as far as insulating is concerned and for looking for a leak on one of my central heating pipes, I have used it over and over and helped out friends with this little gem. It is brutal as far as the battery is concerned, so you have a limited amount of time to get what you need done and the charge rate is slow, so I recommend you look into how to operate it for the use you require it for, before you charge around looking at everything from the family cat to looking at walls bemused why it all looks yellow, it is crucial that you go to the website and learn how to use this but once you the hang of looking at the temperature differential, you will easily be able to find leaks, spot wiring problems and fix drafty roofs and doors.

I had the opportunity to try out both this consumer grade thermal camera and the more advanced pro edition. This camera is best suited for people who need a “good enough” solution that can find drafty windows and other temperature variations on a more macro level. Contractors and other who need more precision and detail will want to look at the Pro version of the camera. You can see some of those differences in the attached video.
My biggest gripe with these devices is the short battery life. It will operate for about 45 minutes to an hour before it needs to be recharged. The plus side to this is that it’s not using your phone’s battery to operate. But I do think short battery life on a tool like this is going to be a point of frustration.
I do like that the connector accommodates large cases thanks to a dial control on the top of the unit. It’s largely plug and play and the app is simple enough to get up and running very quickly.

I wasn’t sure whether to pay significantly more for the PRO version given the very low resolution of this basic model. I decided to risk it and am happy to say that the resolution is more than adequate for most domestic applications. In my case I needed to identify the exact location of underfloor heating pipes. The secret of this camera is that the normal view is overlaid onto the thermal image which thereby provides a very clear image even at a distance of 5 to 6 feet.

Fa quello che deve senza grandi pretese per piccoli rilievi. Ovviamente per le perizie termografiche si deve andare su strumenti decisamente pi costosi e con alte defezioni. Cmq l’ho utilizzata per valutare una tubazione bucata (dietro le piastrelle) in un nuovo cantiere.
Unit is nice and compact and once the Fair App is downloaded, very easy to use.
I like the fact that it overlays the thermal image with a visible outline (MSX as referred to by FLIR) giving easier to identify images. Battery last approx 30 minutes and charges very quickly. Currently using the camera to identify cold spots and blockages to the central heating system of which it is perfectly sufficient. I had previously borrowed a Flir camera from work that costs well over 5x the price of this, admittedly the thermal detail isn’t as accurate but for my purpose this is a perfectly sufficient camera and a great tool to add to any homeowners tool box.

Die Flir One Pro Tools sind unglaublich leistungsstark und lassen zumindest fr mich keine Wnsche offen. Wir renovieren gerade ein altes Haus und haben so herausfinden knnen wo die Warmwasserleitungen und vor allem extreme Kltebrcken sind. Die Auflsung ist natrlich nicht fr weite Entfernungen gedacht UND man muss ich mit Thermografie ein wenig beschftigen um auch die richtigen Einstellungen vorzunehmen – das sollte man aber bei einer normalen Kamera auch machen. Alles in allem absolut TOP fr den Preis.
Slightly expensive, but still amazing.
I’ve had the previous version with a quarter resolution and that was great, I used it from everything to check whether drone components were overheating, and ditto for batteries, and general house efficiency. This new version is way better, just wish the price could be cheaper.
Il prodotto non rispecchia a pieno le caratteristiche descritte, al esempio c’ scritto che pu misurare temperature fino a 400C, ma per temperature oltre i 150C appare scritto “>150C”. In compenso ha un aggiornamento delle temperature molto veloce, quando lo si sposta da un punto ad un altro, anche se credo che la misura non sia molto precisa, sopratutto se l’oggetto inquadrato si trova a pi di 2 metri di distanza. Infine, il correttore di distanza tra l’immagine infrarossa a quella visibile, permette l’allineamento delle due immagini solo in verticale. Lo sconsiglio per usi professionali

Leider ist der Support der Firma Flir extremst trge, denn trotz mehrfacher Nachfrage ist mein Nutzerkonto auch nach 4 Tagen noch nicht freigeschaltet. Zudem kam erst mal alles in Englisch. Ist ein eigentlich lsbares Problem. Deshalb nur 4 Sterne
Great value; useful tool for heat loss search round house
Very impressed with this and it has proved very useful in looking for hear efficiency issue round the house. Would have given 5 stars but have struggled to get access to some of the third party apps that are recommended from the FLIR app; unless you have US iTunes account.
La flir one pro est trs correcte question qualit. Malheureusement les applis dispo sur l’app store sont clairement moins fournies et compatibles (pour “thermal camera +” particulirement) que sur android. Les limitation qu’apple exige aux dveloppeurs probablement.
Je suis par contre fort tonn du frame rate de la Flir one pro sur mon Iphone X compar ma flir one (non pro) sur android 7.0 branche sur mon vieux wiko 80…

Has own power supply so you need to turn it ON when you plug it in and wait a few seconds for an image to come onto the screen. Be patient. Refresh rate seems slow but that’s the case with all thermal cameras costing less than 20,000! Image quality and ease of use make this a great bit of kit. It is essentially the same sensor and features as the FLIR E6 which is a 2000 camera. Make sure you download the FLIR ONE app and the FLIR Tools app. The latter does some post processing and let’s you generate a range of different PDF reports that you can email straight from the app!!! The attached image is showing rainwater penetration through the outside wall of a Victorian house (defective rainwater pipe). Brilliant for building diagnostics.

So far I am very impressed with this product. I did my research before as it was an expensive purchase and I am glad I went with this one. I have used other thermal cameras in the past and have not been impressed but the quality of the images on this unit is very impressive. I think the stand out feature is the face it blends a actual picture with a thermal image so you keep the importance information like labeling on a fuse board. I am impressed by the accuracy of the temperature and the fact you can make changes to the image after the photo has been taken allowing you today choose the best colour setting or move the temperature point.
It’s expensive bit of kit but when you compare it to the equivalent spec camera it’s actually quite cheap. For this kind of price you wouldn’t be getting very good images.
I have highy expect this will be getting lots of uses at work been an electrician both diagnosis of faults and when doing electrical safety checks and will make use stand out from the others not using this technology.
Also a nice added point is the USB c connection is extendable so it fits on even with my large case something I was concerned about before purchasing.
This isn’t a product I own but I have seen it in use, I was so impressed by it I thought I should share my experience.
In the ground floor of my house we have underfloor heating right through the kitchen, dining room and adjoined living area. It’s the type of underfloor heating that works with pipes and hot water (like a radiator). We love the underfloor heating but one morning we came downstairs to a pool of water, after mopping it up we realised it was coming from under the skirting and realised it was the underfloor heating. I rang a couple of heating engineers that I had in my phone.
The first came out and explained that the leak could be anywhere under the oak floor or tiled kitchen and dining area, the water would just be finding its way out through the route of least resistance. The solution would be to pull up the floor bit by bit to find the leak but it could mean worst case taking all the floor up. He could fit me in a week later.
The second had this Flir device with him attached to his phone, starting from a dry floor he powered on the underfloor heating, it was possible to see the hot water filtering through and filling up the massive network of piping. Faint at first but clearer after a couple of minutes we could then see where the leek was coming from, the heat signature grew as the water left the pipe, it was like adding cordial to water the way you could see the heat disperse. I never did get a reason why the leak had occurred but two hours later it was fixed and the two boards that had to be lifted were down again.
I didn’t know technology like this was available to add to an iPhone!, I don’t think I’d rush out and buy one but for this job along it would have paid for its self as ripping up all my flooring would have been a costly nightmare!
I bought the FLIR one Pro after wanting a thermal imaging camera for work for some time. For the price compared to the all in one thermal imagers, it has exceeded my expectations. It paid for itself after the first use. It, next to my smart phone is the most useful piece of kit I’ve purchased.

Ich habe die Kamera gekauft, um Kaeltebruecken bei Holzhaeusern aufzuspueren. Funktioniert besser, als erwartet. Die Kaeltezonen werden, fuer meine Zwecke, sehr gut dargestellt. Temp. Anzeige nicht genau, Abweichung jedoch tolerierbar.
Nachtrag: Der in Hoehe einstellbare Anschluss ist ausreichend fuer normale Schutzhuellen. Benutze selbst eine Otter Box, hier ist eine Nutzung der Kamera nicht moeglich.

Most people would be able to work it out as there is a Help guide on the app: we didn’t bother because Flir’s resolution wasn’t fit for our purposes. There is a torch/flash on the Flir app. When we were downloading the Flir app (which had a 1star rating), we also downloaded a couple of other compatible apps that had 4-5star ratings that were also advertised on the Flir app. We gave ourselves 2 minutes per app to figure them out and couldn’t do it: they may be out of date.
3. How it works with an iPhone. So the camera can be attached to the phone to face either direction which is great. We had to remove the case for it to fit our iPhone . . . and the phone felt VERY vulnerable in the locations we wanted to use it. Obviously you could buy a new phone case that is compatible with Flir. The other thing was that photos taken using the Flir camera button did not capture ALL the information (e.g. the temperature gradient) on the screen at the time so we ended up doing screen shots using the iPhone home and on/off button. This was actually quite tricky as you had to make sure your hand did not block the Flir, or that you didn’t click the phone into the lock screen (happened a lot). The Flir itself is robust: we wouldn’t recommend changing how it attaches to the iPhone.
Despite the issues, we were impressed with the fact that you could do this kind of thing with a mere phone. Maybe a future version with more resolution would suit us: at the moment though, we have decided to splurge on a full handheld unit with a higher resolution.
In the end we decided to splurge a bit more on a more powerful non-phone version and so sent this for refund.

Excellent product – packs some incredible technology into a tiny package that attaches neatly to an iPhone. I used the latest version of the app and didn’t have any software problems. I note some critiques from other reviewers but i cut the Flir a bit of slack as this gadget is doing domething incredible for the price and provides a service that is transformative if you are tracking down buliding or DIY problems. The roll-out connector is very good for connecting to a phone with a chuncky case.

A broken seal in the UPVC door panel was the issue which I would never had found without this camera’s cold spot feature. I found it is also useful for checking water flow in pipes which helped spot a black spot in a U bend under the sink in my kitchen – result was some trapped debris which over time would have become smelly. A great device for both home users and professionals wjo would easily get daily usage and some big return on the investment in a short space of time.

You can then either tackle the issue yourself or employ someone but when it is done you can easily check the work.
I have used this product to check windows, doors, insulation in the attic, radiators, electrics and even the cat flap, I can even check how hot the water in my bath is before I get in it. I have also had fun with this product taking thermal images of my friends and family and it has even helped me find the cat out in the garden at night.

It showed me that I had an air vent covered over but not sealed behind it so it was really cold in that corner and also showed my radiators where not fully heating due to being full of sludge. Sorted both and since much more comfortable in the room.

A very useful invention which is useful if for say you are a DIY person for starters as it can be used for various jobs like detecting pipes in walls, metal detector and mains etc, checking blocked pipes in the toilet etc. It will fit in to you iPhone with the case on or you can extend the plug by a turning wheel on the camera to adjust the height to fix any problems without having to remove your iPhone case. a very useful product that will save you time, money and convenience using it for all sorts of useful jobs.
I have just received delivery of my FLIR One Thermal imaging camera. The product is nicely packaged in a small cardboard retail outer. Inside here is a neat box with an instruction manual, the camera, a carry case and a charging cable. The manual asks you to download the FLIR app which is on the iOS store and is simply called “FLIR One”. I downloaded this and registered. You need to verify your email before it will allow you into the settings. The first items I tested this out with were my cup of coffee and the windows. The purpose in which I purchased this item is to spend time seeing where the heat is escaping from my house. This will save me time and money in replacing windows, doors or whether it’s purely draft excluders I need. I’d be very interested in seeing if this would work with cooking! So far I’m pleasantly surprised with this camera and cannot wait to get using it around the house. As I’m a home user this will give me lots of features, I’m sure in the hands of a professional this would be a fantastic product to use in the trades of a plumber, electrician etc.
