Great little toy , my 1 year old grandson loved it, it’s very simple but it’s the first thing he gets out of the toy box when he visits.
Simple but fun and excellent for developing motor skills/co-ordination. I watched my little one try daily over weeks & months until she could get them in the holes…then the right way up…then by colours…then making them pop up (with added sound effects).
Lovely little wooden toy. Our 13 month old loves it and it’s very well made. Very happy with the quality and performance, thanks.
When you first look at this pop up toy you can’t help thinking how simple it is and maybe you can’t do much with it. But observe a one year old at play: you tip the pegs out and put them back in, turn them around to see all the faces, try matching the colours (this will take time daddy !), take the pegs out and knock two together, push the pegs down & watch them jump back up (apparently this is very funny). And so the fun goes on. A well made wooden toy I would recomend it to anyone looking for an inexpensive fun toy for babys first Christmas.
perfect for my 6m old niece, she loves seeing them pop up and giggles her head off!
Lovely little toy and well made. Helps with colour learning, eye to hand coordination, counting and sheer joy for baby when they see the little men pop up.
For me this is a classic toy. It has good play quality. helps to develop fine motor skills matching and colour and the pegs are really good to get those teth into.
Just gave these to our one year old for her birthday. After a couple of goes she got the hang of it and enjoys seeing them pop up. She does find the holes a little small still to put the men back in again but it’s a good challenge for her to press in the right way for them to pop up. It’s sturdy and well made
Friends got this for my son’s first birthday. He was laughing *hysterically* for several weeks whenever I started making these little figures jump. After three weeks or so he started doing it himself – it’s great for their fine motor skill development.
Our children have enjoyed playing with these for ages. It is my favourite toy for children aged between 6 months and 2 years.
I have bought these multiple times as new-baby gifts and they have always gone down well; babies find it fun to watch an adult ping the pegs until they bounce right out of the block. The pegs are big enough not to be a choke hazard and seem to stand up to a bit of chewing. The spring mechanism is concealed deep within the block so there is no fear of any small moving parts.
Finally, this is quite a nice object (being wood, not plastic) that (being a simple shape) is easy to clean.
This is such a wonderful toy. My son has names for all the little men and they ride about in his vehicles now. He’s played with this constantly for about 2 1/2 years now. Great play value and beautifully made.
Every time I have to buy a new baby present, I buy one of these. Classic, simple design and beautifully made. Safe for babies, perfect for toddlers and very satisfying to pop up at any age.
My little girl is 9 months old, she loves this toy. Mainly pulling the pegs out, but also laughs when we press them down to pop them out. It’s a great, simple toy.
My daughter got given one of these for Christmas, one of the colours got lost, so had to buy a new one, which she was very excited by when the postman delivered this! Excellent present for 15 month children upward
My toddler loves this toy, I know it’s a bit old fashioned, doesn’t have the sophistication of alot of modern toys, but it entertains her no end.
Good wooden toy! Makes baby giggle if the men go flying off.
Good for hand/eye coordination development & releasing things
Love these my children have special needs and these are great for hand eye co- ordination with a fun value as we’ll would recommend for any child
I used to have these at the nursery where I worked as a Nursery Nurse years ago and they were popular then. They still are today, I bought them for my little girl, age 1, and she loves them to bits. She spends ages popping up the little wooden pegs and putting them back again. They are well made and I would recommend them to anyone with a child of this age.
It was fine and well made but did not hold the interest quite as well as some other toys.
My baby loves this. He’s only 9 months old and the only thing he does is chew on the sticks, but they are perfect for his gums as he’s teething. It’s a great toy though and I think he will eventually understand how it works so it will get a better use. Good quality wood and feels really nice. Very good value for money.
I bought this for my 10 month old and she loves it. She likes picking each of the pegs out and chewing on them, the i starting to try and put them back in again and i’m sure we will have fun leaning the colours when she is older!
My 3 year old also loves this toy, mainly pushing the pegs down and letting them leap out. A definate hit with my girls!
Bought this as something different for my baby to play with. Beautifully made and quality product. My son enjoys the game and it’s been a useful product for teaching him coordination.
Very nice, old school wooden toy, keeps my son (11 months) busy, removing and putting back the figures and experimenting with the spring-function. Recommended.
At first glance this toy looks really boring but my kids have both loved it. It was my daughters favourite when she was little and now my son also loves to play with it.
Lovely wooden toy, provides endless entertainment for my LO. If only he did not lose the wooden sticks all the time! I bought it as a gift, but unfortunately the box was damaged in transit. Stockshifterltd were quick to reply & refund and let me keep the toy at the same time. Thank you!
I have bought this pop up toy many times for family and friends children , it as been a much loved toy by my grandchildren , and looks good on a shelf waiting to be played with .
I like wooden toys, it is nicely made, bought it for my one year old, still a bit difficult for her to push it down but she plays with it anyway.
Got one for my niece at age 1, who loved it. Then for my next niece, who also loved it. Have just added to my son’s wish list (he’s 16 months), as he loves playing with theirs! A simple toy that little ones just seem to love.
Brilliant toy for a 1st birthday – have bought a few times for various friends babies and have had great feedback. Would definitely buy as a gift again and great value for money.
Good quality wooden you. My son has lots of fun playing with this, he doesn’t quite understand the concept of the toy yet but we get lots of giggles when I pop the little men out of their holes and he lives to carry them about with him. I’m sure it come in useful when it comes to him learning colours, would recommend to others!
I first bought this for my grown-up son when he was little. I just bought another one for a one year old who loves it. The men jump out and about and they fit in her hand perfectly. Brilliant little game that has stood the test of time.
I know it’s such a simple a popular item that I couldn’t resist and purchased it for my daughter. Needless to say she loves it just as all other kids do. She learned colours very quickly from it.
Cute and simple to play. It just took a few days for my 1yr old to play “own her own”, but she really likes it. Specially if I make “sound effects” as they pop up in the air! Lots of laugh! I am not giving 5 stars as my husband wanted to clean it (with alcohol) and paint went off on his hands (but it doesn’t happen on her mouth though!). Also I would prefer it to have a larger base, ’cause it is somewhat unstable when we use it not directly on the flor. Now I am teaching her to match the right colors and she is learning fast! Great wooden toy, for such cheap price and lovely design!
Best toy I have ever bought for my child who has played with it every day since she was 9 months, she is now one! She loves chewing on the pegs and taking them out of the block.
This is a really well made toy, my toddler could get the pieces in the holes but kept trying to walk around with the pieces in her mouth so I have put it on a high shelf out of the way for now. Hope to get it down soon because it’s a nice looking and good quality toy.
The kids and adults love this toy. It is quite simple but for some reason, hard to put down.
Would recommend this. I have even bought more for gifts.
I have bought this for my small nephew’s first birthday and can’t wait to send it him. I remember these when I was a child. Such a simple idea but so amusing. It is very well made and a brilliant price. A definite classic for every small child.
Bought this as a Christmas present for my 12 month old grandson. He loves popping the little men up and it helps his co-ordination when he puts them back into their holes. A lovely, well made, quiet toy that doesn’t need any batteries!
I’ve bought about four of these for various children. They play with it when they are little, then as they get older – it is so versatile and they play with it in different ways. My four-year-old grandchildren will still have poinging sessions every now and again!
I brought this for my 14 month old and he thoroughly enjoys trying to match the right colours in the holes and watching them pop out when pushed in. It is a very simple concept but one that seems to create plenty of fun!! Just be careful that the pegs do not get lost!
Brilliant toy for the tiny to the not so tiny as their perspective changes. Starts of as a toy that pops out of hole to a colour matching game. Have even found adults trying to ping up the pegs and catch them!
GRANDSON WAS DELIGHTED
good quality wood and nice bright colours
good size for the age group required kept grandson happy he had these with the other se
Apparently it’s a simple toy but my 16 months old boy loves it! When he sees the little stick jumping out he laughs! I strongly recommend this toy even though it may appear a bit too simple for us, babies love it!
Have purchased this for too many years to relate. It is fab for frustrated parents! However I really buy if for the development of finger control for the child. The men pop up and out further the better control you develop, so hand /eye coordination improves. Then its other attributes are colour matching and placing the men in the hole. The movement makes a satisfying sound and overall I just love i
bought this game for 3 children under 1 year and just over. They love it, they can chew the pegs, great for dexterity by trying to put the pegs in the holes. My grandaughte who is now 14 months can press them and send them flying great fun. My 6 year old grand daughter loves it too and its great that they can play with it together, she teaches the younger one
A really good, basic game for small children. The quality is excellent, and the pegs have stood up well to being chewed by a teething 1 year-old (doing a good impersonation of Winston Churchill) while the game can still be enjoyed by older children, who have mastered the knack of ‘popping’ the pegs out of the holes. Very good value for money
My 12 month old loves this and thinks its very funny when the characters pop out. He can now put the characters back in the holes on the block. Also encourages colour recognition.
Was unsure about buying this for my baby son but very glad that I did – it immediately became one of his faves. He loves taking the pegs out of the block one by one and handing them to me to put back in. And enjoys trying to make them ‘spring’ out like Daddy does. He is not quite there with that but it’s actually a good toy for him to develop his hand movements as it’s a tricky thing to do. It is well made and solid – my son enjoys teething on the pegs as well.
A great traditional wooden toy. push the men and they pop out of the block. we talk about colours and even have conversations between the figures.
simple and yet we have had hours of fun from it.
definitely recommend
I was sceptical of all the positive reviews (how could such a simple toy be raved about so much?) but my husband calls this my best toy find ever. We’re not yet at the colour-matching stage but he loves watching the little things pop up. At first he couldn’t get the spring into action himself but he learned this pretty quickly, which makes me think it helped his fine motor control develop. A real gem.
Bought this when my 13 month old was about 10 months. It has been a favorite ever since. He loves to take the little men out and hold them. He laughs when I press them to make them bounce. Recently he has figured out how to bounce them himself. Now he is learning how to put them back in after taking them out. He practices holding multiple objects by trying to fit them all in one hand. He crawls around the house holding them. I can see he will like this toy for a while longer especially once he really figures out how to get them in by himself. And then he will later be able to sort the colors. My only issue is that the paint is not great quality. After being in the little one’s mouth quite often, the wood color is starting to show through the tops of their heads. I also wish the base were a bit wider for stability–he most often knocks it over before he can get the men in or when he tries to press to make them bounce.
We love this toy it has lasted 4.5 years in our home with my two children both have played with it the most out of all our baby toys. So durable, really well played with and it looks nice too!
Lovely wee toy. Each peg fits into a hole with a spring below it so that when your child presses down lightly on the peg it bounces or jumps out of the hole completely! It is beautifully made and will last for a long time.
Our granddaughter is a bit young yet but we are sure she will enjoy playing with them as she gets older. The colours are really bright.
Bought this for my ten month old son, he absolutely loves it, a very simple toy but keeps him amused for a long time. & he always goes for this toy first rather than the many others he has!
Given to granddaughter for 1st birthday. She adores it and chuckles at the little men popping up. Still has mileage when she learns to match the colours.
Have had several of these for various foster children over the years, good for 1 year old +, they enjoy seeing the men pop up, they go quite a long way. then they can progress to making sure they are the right way up and then matching the colours
My grandson is now 15 months old and this toy has been constantly in use since he was 6 months old. Its a favourite he always returns to. It’s simply a lovely, traditional toy of good quality – cant recommend it enough.
Brought this for my little ones first birthday, it is a fun toy, both my one and five year old find it amusing. the little wooden peg people jump up when pushed down. My one year old has no problem playing with this by herself and it does make her giggle.
Great toy at a great price.
brought for my babies first birthday. ive taken it out the box and had a little play and its perfect, no faults at all, no loose pieces. i know hes going to have great fun with this, putting the pegs in the holes and pinging them out again. a very simple yet fun toy, and its wooden which i love. made in china not Cheshire england….the COMPANY is based in cheshire england, which is stated clearly on the box. would recommend, great value for money!
My children loved this toy for so long I always buy it for other people’s babies. Men easy to handle from a very early age and scope for play increases as they get older. Really lovely reliable toy, also durable, ours still looks as good as new 2.5 years on.
Just right for the 1 year olds little fingers to push down, pick up and put back in the whole. Will also be good to teach colours.
Well made of lovely wood and nice and compact…unlike the horrid plastic toys..
Lots of laughter from this one, little hands can easily press down the pegs and they love it when they pop out. Good educational toy for learning the basic colours also.
Highly recommended
This simple toy is providing lots of fun for my grandson who has recently turned one. It is helping his co-ordination and will help with colour matching. I liked Galt products when my own children were young and the toys are still as good as they used to be.
A high quality pop up toy. These are wonderful and I’ve found myself insisting that my child play with them as I find them so much fun. The little men and their seat are beautifully made and painted; and they pop out when you press them down.
However, the box says these are suitable only for children who are over 12 months old so I wouldn’t go along with other reviewers who have suggested they are ok for babies under this age.
This is a brilliant toy. My 9 month old loves it. I have found that the more basic ‘classic’ toys are always more of a hit with him and this is no exception. Love that you press the little men and they pop out, as well as their cheery faces.
I bought this gift as an Easter present rather than chocolate. The child was quite poorly when it was given but it was so pleasing to see it managed to raise a smile on his face when the little men popped out of the stand! It has been a favourite toy for him for a while now and keeps him amused each time it comes out of the toy box. Would really recommend it! It’s simple but effective!
My son thinks this is very fun, making the pins pop up although he can’t put them in yet. They are also very good to chew on 😛
Only complaint is that there was a crack in the bottom which could have given the boy splinters but we just smoothed it. If it hadn’t been for the crack it would have gotten 5 stars.
I bought this as it had good reviews and I was looking for some more toys for my seven month old. This has become a favourite. All we really do is that she takes the out and I put them back in again but she really loves the pieces and in between chewing on them she bangs them together and uses them to hit other things to make sounds. I spring the pieces out too and she watches this with interest. Sounds boring but its a lovely bit of interaction for us and whiles away a good 15 minutes at a time 🙂
great toy, and so much more long-lasting than you would imagine! little ones enjoy chewing the sticks, then you can work through posting back into the holes, making them ping out, colour matching and then taking to the faces. excellent value, if only we had found the green man in the house move!
My son LOVES this, such a simple idea but so effective. I was a bit wary about buying as it doesn’t look like anything special but I can not recommend enough. It’s one of my sons favourite toys. Thanks
We searched for a pop up toy for some time before choosing this one. At the price I wasn’t expecting much but this simple toy (with no batteries or noises!!) has proved a big hit. It’s bright, simple, easily portable and is teaching our 14 month old some fine motor skills. Would definitely recommend.
Bought for my 12 mth old daughter after her playing with it for ages at a friends house. It’s simple design, colourful and made of wood so sturdy. My daughter loves to see the ‘little men’ fly out of the block and it helps with her co ordination putting them back in.
Bought several of these over the years for various presents for 1yr olds and they all love it and several have then gone on to buy them for other people based upon the success of it. Lovely wooden toy and full of fun! It’s one of those toys that kids keep going back to play with.
Its not just my 8 month old that loves this simple but fun toy! haha my little one chews these and watches in amazement when they pop out!
Every one has commented that they love it too!
Best 6 Ive spent on her!
Get it!
This is a great toy for my baby. He loves pushing the people down and seeing them pop back up again. He also likes putting them in & out of their slot. It’s a really good quality wooden toy which I would definitely buy agai
Bought this for my one year old, he found it hilarious to bob the little heads up and down. After a few months he was pushing the heads all the way down and firing the pegs across the room! I really think this toy helped him with his hand-eye coordination, he spent a lot of time perfecting the art of peg-firing. Loved it.
This is a great toy for encouraging fine motor skills and hand/eye co-ordination. My grandson loves it and likes the way the people “jump” out again when you press and release quickly
We bought this for our then 10 month old son for Christmas. He loves it! We’ve taken a long video of him giggling away and having us all in stitches as he tries to grab the people popping up. Great fun for any toddler.
what a lovely piece of kit, very well made and feels so solid, am very happy with my purchase and delivery was with in a couple od days, Amazon is the place to buy your stuff off of, best prices and rapid delivery
I purchased 2 of these, one for my son and one for his girl friend for Chrsitmas (both who have just turned one!) They love posting (And chewing!) the pegs and it gets lots of giggles when you pop them out! Hours of entertainment!
I bought this for my daughter at 14 months old. She loves it. She pushes down on it and throws it around the room. She also chews it when her teeth come through.
Bought this as a Christmas present for my Grandson who is nearly one. At the moment he likes to take out all the little people (and then chew them). He’s also trying to put them back. I can see this toy lasting a long time. Would definitely recommend.
My 2 year old grandson loves this toy , especially when he after pushing the men down they pop up and out , He just shrieks with laughter . A very simple toy that gives lots of fun and laughter and so easy for a young child to use. I would recommend this toy .
My 10-month-old baby loved this from the moment I opened the packaging! She’d grasp her little fingers round the ‘men’ and crawl all around the room with them. By 11 months she could put them in the holes and a week shy of 12 months she learnt to push the ‘men’ down into the holes and watch them fly out as she would giggle to herself. Such a fabulous product to aid your baby’s dexterity. I’ve never written a review before and I’ve been shopping with Amazon for years but this is truly a wonderful product. And wooden toys are great for babies. Love it!
Really like this toy and have bought a couple now for presents. Makes a change from all the plastic stuff out there, and looks good on nursery shelf when not being played with!
I bought this for my daughter when she was around 9 months old. It is lovely to have a simple, classic, wooden toy for her and the slim design means it is not too bulky to transport. She loves taking the little men out of the holes and chewing them. There must be something about the little men as every baby who has come into contact with them has done the same thing (however they are well made and showing no signs of damage, I just keep giving them a good wash!)
At 1, she still really likes this toy and is starting to work out how to put the men into the holes.
My three year old nephew enjoys pushing the men down (there are springs in the holes so they “jump” out again, and putting the right colour man into the right hole. It’s probably a bit young and unsophisticated for him and wouldn’t enjoy playing with it alot but my daughter will definitely get another years’ use out of it as she learns about colours and works out the pop-up mechanism.
I bought this toy for my grandson over a year ago, when he was about 6 months old. It immediately became his first choice of a large array of toys, and this has remained the case. He is 15 months old now, and every time he visits (once a week) this is the first toy he reaches for. I can’t recommend it highly enough.
This may be a small toy but its fantastic. my 1yr old spends ages putting the pegs into the holes, great for hand and eye co-ordintation the elder child loves popping them up. It is loads of fun and i would highly recommend!
Bought this for my son when he was about 9 months old, he enjoyed playing with it immediately, playing with the men separately or putting them into the holes, and progressed to pushing them down to make them pop up, and then matching the men to the correctly coloured holes.
Fun for child, using fine grip and sorting according to colour. Fun for all as the little people pop up excitingly. This toy has the potential for play for children over a good length of time as they develop.
Toy is well made and designed. Quality is very good and good fun factor as well.
Would recommend it. Eventhough my son is only 6 months, he still enjoys pulling out the pins an playing with it.
We got this from a friend who bought it as it was her son’s favourite. For good reason, it’s the best simple toy I have seen, and it’s provided hours and hours of entertainment for our older daughter. Whether it’s learning to make the pins pop, replacing them into the holder, or just playing with the pins, I definitely recommend this for anybody with small children!
This is by far Emma’s favourite toy (and mummy’s)! I bought it after seeing a friend’s 1yr old play endlessly with it… Although Emma was alot younger (7mths) when we bought this, she was still facinated by it and to this day continues to spend long periods of time playing with this classic! Before long Emma was placing the pegs in the holes, and just recently has learned to ping them out of their holes – she is not even 10mths!
Unfortunately, we are down to three pegs now… but still lots of fun 🙂
I would highly recommend the Pop-Up toy as a good quality toy. I purchased the Pop-Up toy for a gift for my grandson’s first birthday, the toy was so simple in its design but was a big hit with my grandson, I showed him how to make the coloured people-pegs pop up and he took to it straight away – he played with it for ages, I can still see him now bashing down his little hand on the pegs and making them pop up and pop out… he chuckled and laughed out loud when the pegs popped out which was lovely to hear! He doesn’t yet understand of course that each people- peg fits into the coordinating coloured part on the toy but that doesn’t matter at the moment… the pegs were easy for him to hold which of course he put straight into his mouth to chew on as he does with everything at the moment as he is teething… There were no nasty sharp corners on the toy either which was a bonus. I was very pleased with my choice and also very pleased with the price which was much, much cheaper than the RRP of this toy. Thank you.
My grandchildren love this. Great design and well made – it’s now entertaining grandchild number three. Lots of ways to extend the play value – counting the little people, making them ‘talk’ and matching the colours, as well as making them pop.
They don’t call this a classic for nothing! My 9 month old granddaughter played with it all day on Christmas Day. The little boingy fellows are just the right size for tiny hands (and mouths), their boinginess delights the baby (and older children), and putting them in and out of the holes is an inspiring challenge. Brilliant toy! And that’s rare, for this age group.
I got this for my 1year old’s first birthday party and it was opened and played with with 4 other 1 year olds…they all wanted to play with it. Then came the adults and funnily enough each adult played with it too, there’s just something satisfying about putting the pegs in the holes and firing them out again 😉
When my little one turned 7 months, I struggled to find a toy that had some “action-reaction” but still very simple. most of the pegs toys i saw had different shapes or were making awful noises. I could not have made a better choice.
First of all the quality is excellent: the pegs have been bitten and banged a thousand times and the paint is still as new. The box is sturdy and does not have any part that could come out and is small enough to fit in a bag. I really enjoy the fact that this game can be used at many levels. At first my baby enjoyed watching me making the pegs jump, later he took an interest in the pegs, looking at them, banging them together, making them roll, dropping etc. He also loved the box itself (especially the screw hole at the back). Aged 9 months he started putting the pegs in the holes. I know that later on, he will enjoy sorting them as well.
I have decided to make this toy my gift to all the babies I know. It really is keeping mine entertained for hours and I could not recommend it more.
I bought this toy for our 12 month old daughter and it is easily her favourite toy that she goes back to time and time again.
In contrast to the many all singing and flashing toys on the market aimed at the younger child, this is a simple yet fun interactive one.
The art of placing each of the pins in the holes at first was a challenge that kept her coming back to try once more. Now she places them in with ease and claps at the end with a real sense of accomplishment.
She also likes to make the pins bounce up and down in their holes and this she finds very amusing. Even the pins themselves she carrys with her around the place, this has meant that on a couple of occasions we have ended up with a missing pin until it is recovered from a random area of the house!
I would highly recomend this toy for any young child as a fun toy that is rewarding to play with and it increases dexterity and hand eye co-ordination and is totally safe too!
