This will be a great toy once my baby is a little older (maybe 12-18 months). The pegs are smaller than I thought they’d be: they’re about the size of my pinkie finger. Bright side is the toy doesn’t take up that much space. The peg people spring up pretty high when you push on them.

Highly recommend this great little toy
One of the best toys I bought for my baby grandaughter. She’s had fantastic play value from this – at first just handling the pieces, learning to slot them in the holes, then using the little ‘people’ in imaginative play. Highly recommend for 8-18months.

Very rarely post reviews but had to with this one. My 7 month old loves it! He mostly chews on the sticks but has spent most of the time pulling each stick out of its hole and dropping it. He could do it for hours. Great for his fine motor skills and hand eye coordination. There is plenty of room to grow into it too with colour matching etc.

Excellent toy, endless fun with my 1-year-old boy. The action to get the toys to pop is quite hard for my 1-year-old to grasp but enjoys watching them fly once I demonstrate. It has improved my son’s coordination by trying to put the stick men back into the container. Would recommend this product.

I’ve been buying things in Amazon for a long time. However, this is my first review. I just want to say that I bought this toy for my 1 year old nephews and since the very beginning they loved it and learnt how to use it easily. They can’t stop laughing when they make the sticks jump. Now they are 17 months and without doubt is still one of their favourite toys.

I’d recommend it to everyone! I have to confess I wasn’t expecting this fantastic result at all. Perhaps one of the the simplest and cheapest toys but also a must have

Great success for a first birthday present. Need to check the child does not want to put the ‘people’ into their mouth (or try to) but my grandson was thrilled with it and played and played with it. So did we all – all ages. A great delight with its element of surprise, and two levels of ‘jump’ depending on the pressure used.

Hands down one of the best toys I’ve ever bought!
I bought for my 1 year old’s birthday and it’s fair to say that I’m planning on buying one for any 1 year old parties I go to in future.
It’s such a fun toy and I love that it’s wooden. It’s a fantastic price and a very simple idea but bags of fun.
My son can independently put the pegs in and loves to ping them out again. He finds it hilarious. It’s such a nice item. You won’t regret buying it.
My 3 year old loves it too!

This is a fantastic toy – lovely quality, and so simple. When we first bought it, my son just liked watching us bouncing the little men in and out of the holes. But he can now ping them around himself and can put the men in the holes – it’s really helped his hand-eye coordination. It’s one of his go-to toys, and I think will continue to keep him entertained for a while to come, especially once he starts recognising colours too.

Golden Review Award: 64 From Our UsersAlways amazed at how much children love this classic toy.
I used to run a nursery and I would say over the years, the most popular toy in the whole nursery, was this one.
Now I buy it for toddlers of family and friends and it still amazes me how much joy comes from such a simple toy. It’s colourful, fun, silly, educational. The children can pop the people, sort them into the correct coloured slot, the people are just the right size for a toddler’s hand and if they give it a little chew, being Galt, you know it’s safe. The whole thing is easily small enough to put in your baby bag to take out with you. Hard wearing, this toy will last for all the children in one family and still be handed down. Older kids and adults love it too, it’s compelling. It’s such good value. Can’t recommend it highly enough.

    ping
A very simple toy but kept my 13 month old entertained for a surprisingly long time. I think it may have been something to do with him figuring out fairly quickly how to ping the little stick men across the room at the dog!

Toy seems safe, no sharp edges and the sticks are too big to swallow. No paint chipping off yet.

Small enough to drop in your changing bag if you are going somewhere. Stick men could easily get lost mind.

My two grown children had this toy – 25 years ago and enjoyed it then! I bought one for my nine month old Grandson for Christmas. He had lots of expensive presents but nothing made him laugh as much as this when the ‘little men’ pop up and out. He’s too young to put the pegs back in the holes but loves to take them out holding two at a time in each hand! They’re great for chewing, throwing and rolling. It was such a success that I bought this one for my Godsons child – same result lots of chuckles.

I purchased this toy for my nephew, aged 1 and a half. The quality is excellent, and I felt it was great value for money. My nephew was a bit young to understand the concept of pushing the figures down into the box, but he was very excited when they popped up and he liked just holding them (they’re the perfect size for small hands). Our ten month olds (second) favourate toy
A really really good toy. Keeps him entertained for ages without adult intervention. Even when 5 year old kids come over to play they love to make the little men jump too, and get them lined up in the right holes.

At 6 months he loved to just chew on the men, and then he got the hang of taking them out, and he’s now having a go at putting them in the holes (unsuccessfully so far.)

Even better is that it’s a lovely wooden item, and doesn’t make any horrible sounds/ sounds. Makes a lovely gift and I’ve just bought one for a new born’s first toy.

I bought it for my 20 moth old knowing it’s a bit late for this toy, but I’m expecting another child and price was good, so went for it. It’s a fun toy and younger child will enjoy it a lot I think. My toddler did do colour matching with it, but he is convinced as well that pegs are crayons and tries to draw with them. When you first look at this pop up toy you can’t help thinking how simple it is and maybe you can’t do much with it. But observe a one year old at play: you tip the pegs out and put them back in, turn them around to see all the faces, try matching the colours (this will take time daddy !), take the pegs out and knock two together, push the pegs down & watch them jump back up (apparently this is very funny). And so the fun goes on. A well made wooden toy I would recomend it to anyone looking for an inexpensive fun toy for babys first Christmas.

    Great simple toy
I bought this toy when my daughter was 6 months old and she was immediately interested in it. She’d happily spend ages pulling the pegs out, waiting for me to put them back in again and pulling them out again. Now she’s 8 months old and she’s pinging the pegs up by pushing them down and feeling pretty pleased with herself. It’s the first toy that she’ll go to each day and I can see her getting lots more enjoyment from it once she’s learned to put the pegs back in again too. Considering it’s a very simple toy it’s been a great purchase so far, I’d definitely recommend it.

A simple classic, most importantly, a hit with very young children.
Our children have enjoyed playing with these for ages. It is my favourite toy for children aged between 6 months and 2 years.

I have bought these multiple times as new-baby gifts and they have always gone down well; babies find it fun to watch an adult ping the pegs until they bounce right out of the block. The pegs are big enough not to be a choke hazard and seem to stand up to a bit of chewing. The spring mechanism is concealed deep within the block so there is no fear of any small moving parts.

Finally, this is quite a nice object (being wood, not plastic) that (being a simple shape) is easy to clean.

    Buy me!
This is such a wonderful toy. My son has names for all the little men and they ride about in his vehicles now. He’s played with this constantly for about 2 1/2 years now. Great play value and beautifully made.

    Thumbs up
My little girl is 9 months old, she loves this toy. Mainly pulling the pegs out, but also laughs when we press them down to pop them out. It’s a great, simple toy.

    Recommend
My toddler loves this toy, I know it’s a bit old fashioned, doesn’t have the sophistication of alot of modern toys, but it entertains her no end.

Fantastic wooden toy for little hands
This simple toy is absolutely brilliant for little hands. My one year old daughter just loves it. At first, we had to play with her and “pop” the little pegs for her. Then she realised she could “pop” them herself to great laughs. And then she progressed to being able to put the pegs inside the holes herself. It’s great for motor skills. It keeps her entertained for ages as she pops them all out, collects them, puts them all back in and gets her laughing. And the best thing – NO BATTERIES REQUIRED!!!! There is definitely a place for simple wooden toys in our children’s lives – and this is perfect. It makes a great gift as well.

They are well made and I would recommend them to anyone with a child of this age
I used to have these at the nursery where I worked as a Nursery Nurse years ago and they were popular then. They still are today, I bought them for my little girl, age 1, and she loves them to bits. She spends ages popping up the little wooden pegs and putting them back again. They are well made and I would recommend them to anyone with a child of this age.

Golden Review Award: 40 From Our UsersA simple, well made toy, probably better for older babies.
When I first got this toy for my 9month old, I thought it was a bit rubbish. It’s a wooden block with 4 pegs in that when you push the pegs down, they pop out. My 9month old wasn’t particularly interested in it, all she wanted to do was eat the pegs (they are too big to cause a choking hazard). However, I also have a two year old. He found this toy to be quite amusing when he pushed the pegs down and they sprang out. He also enjoyed matching the coloured pegs to the coloured slots and it’s also great for hand eye co ordination.
It’s a nice well made, simple but effective little toy.
……………this is an added note…..my 9month old is now One, and she absolutely loves this toy. She loves putting the pegs in the slots and laughs her head off when she pushes them down and they spring out. As an adult it’s hard to see the entertainment value in this toy, but my children love it.

It was fine and well made but did not hold the interest quite as well as some other toys.

    Very nice toy
My baby loves this. He’s only 9 months old and the only thing he does is chew on the sticks, but they are perfect for his gums as he’s teething. It’s a great toy though and I think he will eventually understand how it works so it will get a better use. Good quality wood and feels really nice. Very good value for money.
