This is a well made product with only one exception. It goes together very easily and will control dust generated by the engraver as well as lessen, but not eliminate the noise.

As other reviewers have noted – the sticky tape on the magnetic strips do not hold and will eventually fall off the plexiglass and the aluminum frame. The fix is very simple – buy a good quality roll of double sided sticky tape from a hardware store and reapply to the magnetic strip. I removed the original sticky coating by gently rubbing my thumb over the glue. It’s removal is fairly easy and gives the replacement tape a better surface for adherence. I’ve run my engraver for a couple of months now inside this enclosure, with the tape replaced and the magnetic strips are still firmly attached. Replacing the sticky is well worth the effort and makes the enclosure a great addition to the engraver.

As others have mentioned, the magnetic tape starts falling off shortly after applying it. Other than that good value, since less dust and noise

I bought this to go with a 3018 PROver. To my happy surprise, it makes a really big difference in the noise – takes the screechiness away entirely, and what’s left is fairly inoffensive and quiet. Pretty happy with this one!

As others have said, the magnets on this are worthless. I didn’t even get past the two hour mark before my door fell off. What worked for me (and honestly what I think they should do moving forward) is just include two more of the acrylic hinges. See my picture, but so far it has been working fantastically. I still have full access to everything, and now the front door just swings up and rests on the top of machine.

I live in a studio apartment and really didn’t want to be THAT upstairs neighbor, but this enclosure, plus some rubber floor mats and a big cinder block to take care of the vibration, has made it about as quiet as the fans on my 3d printer (Ender 3 v2). Granted, so far all I have milled is wood, but so far it is certainly a reasonable volume.

In short, if you buy this, allocate an extra $7 or whatever for a set of acrylic hinges (I just looked here on Amazon for the same type that came with the enclosure where the self adhesive part is red). Also, doing it again I’d mount my door upside down from how I have it now – makes more sense now that the motion is an upward swing.

    Great enclosure, with one cavea

It keeps the dust in and reduces the noise alot. Well worth the price.

This enclosure drops the noise from my CNC machine from 91 decibels to 81 decibels – a significant improvement. The enclosure is sturdy and spacious. Assembly was fun and easy but time consuming. If you have put together a Sainsmart CNC machine, the magical T-nuts make a comeback. I like those things. One improvement that I would add to this enclosure is a foam gasket on the bottom, for noise reduction. It would be a nice touch. I will be adding something on my own.

First off, build the base and the top separately and then install the corner uprights to the base and then install the top. Instructions in step one do not show the set screws. Confusing. Magnetic strips are pathetic. Only stayed on for a short while. No knob for the real lid but there is a hole for one. Other than these, it’s a pretty nice unit.

This is an amazing case. If you want to skip making your own this is perfect. Before you buy this know that the only thing wrong with mine was the magnetic tape didn’t adhere very well, it was an easy fix with super-glue gel and a clamp.

However, your price is belligerent. I bought this wanting to flame you about it and it is a near perfect product. There are some of us who know how much this costs to manufacture, we all know this is far over-priced though.

First off, I like this case. It’s well built and does a great job of reducing noise and containing dust. But, the dust will slowly creep in between the aluminium frame and adhesive on the magnetic strips which causes them to unstick. I have used the case for approx 10hrs and have had to remove all the magnetic strips, clean the surfaces on which they adhere to and re-adhere using an impact adhesive. So far, this has fixed the issue. If you use a 3018 CNC router, you’ll already be used to tinkering to get it perfect and with this case, it’s the same.

Great case BUT the magnetic strips do not stay stuck on!!!

Magnetic strips fell off a few weeks after installation and were quickly replaced by the vendor.

This works great with the genmitsu CNC but I also use it as a drying enclosure for oil paintings to protect them from dust and debris. The adhesive on the magnetic strips was weak but is easily replaced with a 3M double stick tape of some sort as an improvement.

Actually very nice. But I have the yaro with longer deck . Not long enough to cover whole machine.

Does what it is meant to do. The only issue I have is that the magnetic tape does not adhere well to plastic. I had to put in place with CA glue dabs. the handle meant to open the top door did not come with the unit.

Solid design, good plastic, a bit on the pricy side. But good.

Einfacher Aufbau.

It does a good job with containing the dust and noise. The only reason I didn’t give it a 5 is because the adhesive on the magnetic strips for the doors didn’t hold the magnets in place. A little 3m double sided tape and it was good.

Took a long time to assemble. Does a great job of reducing noise. Wish it was a little larger on the Y-axis, have to remove machine from enclosure for larger projects to allow overhang.

If you’re a crazy person like me and you have this in your room its a good idea to have one. This thing easy to assemble and simple to use. The box really helps keeping all the dust in and muffles the sound a bit making it not being able to make you deaf like it does originally.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersKABA was easy to assemble and simply drops over the desktop CNC
small power port easily accommodates cables and allows you to move controller and a re-positioned emergency stop easily
added led strip lighting around the insight top to illuminate the working area
liked the design so much I’ve started assembling the parts for a larger machine, 3040
cut down on dust and debris and much reduces the sound of milling
    KABA definitely value for money
Assembling the parts for the, admittedly much larger, enclosure the acrylic alone cost more than this unit
fun project though – so no complaints

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersEasy of assembly : 5 stars. Good directions right in the box – no hunting for a pdf that ends up being in Mandarin. Took a little over an hour at a relaxed pace.
Packaging /Part Quality : 5 stars. A lot of kits like this come with extrusion that is full of chips, oil, and dirt, and that wasn’t the case. Very clean right out of the box, well organized, well packed, and all contents there.
Dust proof : 4 Stars. Mostly dust proof, but unless it’s on a perfectly flat surface, there are air gaps under the bottom rails. I tried an MDF surface, a plywood surface, and a plastic surface It really has to be ideally flat to close the bottom gap – I’d recommend they include some sort of rubber bottom or sealer/filler to really close it out.
Noise reduction : 1-2 stars. It helps lock in extreme highs which is good for your ears, but mids, and low mids, forget it – they’re coming through. On average, it only reduces my spindle noise by about 10dB – still a positive, but not even remotely close – bear in mind dB is log, not linear – to the advertised reduction…that was disappointing, but kind of expected. It really needs to be made from denser material or additional layers to quiet it down as much as advertised.
