Love to see a barebones in ISO layou
It’s great to be able to get a TKL barebones in ISO layout. The aluminium plate is absolutely solid and I don’t get any ping from it. The LEDs are bright enough IMO. Overall I am very happy, though I have the following complaints:
1. The software is pretty limited and poor
2. The hotswap sockets don’t support 5 pin switches so you’d have to clip them. Why not add the holes?
3. It’s hard to remove the front plate from the PCB which is a pain if you want to e.g. do PE foam mod
4. There’s hardly any space in the body of the keyboard which means you can’t really add any sound absorbing material in there. There’s a piece of very thin foam which helps the sound a bit but it would be nice for the body to be deeper so you could add more material to affect the sound
Overall though it’s great and I’m super happy with it especially for the price.
Great keyboard, great software, but mediocre caps
I’m sure you can read all the other good things about this keyboard in other reviews, so I’ll just get started with bad.
The keycaps they included were an incredibly poor choice. There’s an FN key with functions across the F keys, but none of them are labeled! You need to either have a really good memory, or color code them like I did (red mute, yollow vol-, green vol+). The keycaps ALL wiggle on their posts to some degree, I’ve used membrane keyboards with more stable keys.
The software is just OK, macro recording is an absolute pain and it’s missing many feature comforts that I’m used to coming from Logi-G software. RGB is easy enough to program, but there’s no 2nd layer when you press the FN key.
There’s also no per-game lighting modes to enable, you need to make custom profiles and remember to enable them before going in game.
No USBC dongle in the box, so don’t expect to use this with your thin and light laptop without buying one.
Overall, still a great keyboard for the price if you just consider the base+switches and plan to buy new caps!
Really nice!
I was looking for something inexpensive for my first custom build.
It took the tape (I used masking tape on the back of the board) and foam (I used some unused 2mm foam underlay) mod with ease.
The build quality is pretty good, nice and sturdy, the finish is stylish yet understated.
It does require its own app to control the RGB (I tried openRGB, ut it didnt find it), which can be downloaded from the link on the quick start card, but its really easy to use and once you’ve set it up, it doesn’t need to be running all the time!
Great looking and feeling keyboard. The keys had a bit of a pingy metallic noise to them out of the box. Feels and sounds so much better after lubricating the switches. Take a look at the GMMK 2 which is pre-lubed and has software controlled LEDs. The extra $45 or so might save you hours spent lubing switches.

Amazing keyboard
This is an awesome keyboard. I have bought $300 keyboards worse than this. This keyboard is built well, the keys are silent but still feel like a click and the RGB lighting is nice and doesn’t look cheap like some other big keyboard name brands.
I was also told to lube my keys if I want them even smoother but I’m just too lazy to take the time.
Worth every penny though and the white is beautiful.
An excellent base for building your desired keyboard
I have been switching out keyboards every few months for a couple of years now and can never quite find the ‘perfect’ keyboard for me. I decided to go the whole hog in the end and build one to match my requirements and this barebones ISO layout is the perfect starting point. It is very solidly built, heavy enough but not too heavy, USB-C connectivity, adjustable feet to raise the board if desired and excellent RGB. I installed a combination of Gateron Brown switches (quiet, non-clicky with a really positive feel) and Akko Jelly Pink switches for function keys which give a slightly different but very positive feedback. Finished off with the keycaps from a Cooler Master SK652 keyboard which are low profile and have a very clear and backlit font. The SK652 is a fabulous keyboard but just too big (there isn’t a TKL version available unfortunately) so by utilising the keycaps from this keyboard I feel I am still paying homage to this excellent board :-). I now have what I would consider the closest to perfect keyboard I could hope for (and I have used MANY over the last 15 years!) and all this is made possible by the fantastic GMMK TKL ISO base!
Great quality keyboard, 100% recommend! :)
TD;LR: would 100% recommend, quality keyboard, arrived undamaged, the RGB lighting is nice, quick delivery, cannot think of a fault. Buy it!!
This is my first mechanical keyboard and I am *so* happy with it.
I bought this keyboard alongside AKKO rose red switches [I got these on amazon. I would recommend these switches if you’re looking for cheap, but good linear switches, as they sound good and feel nice to press. They are 3 pin switches so they fit well with the keyboard]
My photos of the keyboard really don’t do it justice, it looks so nice in person.
I legitimately cannot find a fault with the keyboard.
If you’re considering buying this keyboard but are still on the fence about it, buy it!!
It would be nice to have a usb connector instead of a fixed cable

It's perfect ! The brown switches are exactly what I was looking for, as I am a first time buyer of a mechanical keyboard. The base is metal, there's a little shine to it and it makes it nicer. Ale the keycaps are in perfect state too !

To the new people in the custom keyboard game
I love this keyboard the lights are at the top so I did have to get kailh box switches to enable to lights to come through properly, then I went for an oem layout for the keys, on top of that this is the ISO layout so you can see that I’ve got different keys for those specific ones so ensure I can use it properly otherwise I quite like it the software works fine as well
An interesting solidly built mechanical keyboard let down by bad software
For reference: coming from a Pok3r mechanical keyboard which was sufferring from poor key registration after many years of use. Rather than blowing cash on a bunch of new switches and digging out my soldering iron, I thought I would give this GMMK keyboard a go. Specifically interested due to the hot swappable switches.
Pros:
– good build quality for price, brushed aluminium on sides and top
– swappable switches is an interesting idea: can take Cherry / Gateron / Kailh switches without having to mess with resoldering. Hopefully means this keyboard will last a while with minimal maintenance hassle.
– RGB lighting customizable down to individual keys
– lots of RGB preset patterns
Cons:
– No hardware layer support like the Pok3r or GMMK Pro (GMMK Pro is double or more cost of standard GMMK after you buy parts)
– Only 3 profiles in software for RGB and key bindings
– Software profiles can’t be set with a keyboard shortcut – have to mouse click through multiple software menues
– Software key bindings are janky. Not clear how modifiers work, and config is limited.
Plenty of features that are value for money
Hot swappable key switches is a win for me already, good quality key caps and decent weight on the base. Now I love my Gateron browns but one day I get to play around with different switches.
Great value.
The description doesn’t really do the keyboard justice, it has different settings that make it light up the keys in different patterns & colour combinations. Seems sturdy & a ideal for gaming. My daughter loves it.
Great hotswap
Overall the build quality was great but that stabs you should try get better ones, even after clipping and re lubing they weren’t great. Also not sure if it’s the cream switches or the pcb but sometimes if I pull a keycap out it pulls the switch out too
Paired with Lubed Gateron Yellows - Great Build, My new main build
I paired this keyboard with Gateron Yellows and some hyperx keycaps and Ive been greeted with a pleasant experience which I cant turn back on. Not too many funcion buttons which is what you expect from a 60% but its got fn keybinds which is great!
Best keyboard to begin a hobby or just wanting your own selection of keys.
I have Kailh Box Navy switches in every key except for the W,A,S,D and the aRPG keys of Space, Shift, 1,2,3,4 and F1.F2,F3, and F4.
Just having that option of picking the switch I like and *ahem* switching them is and absolute joy.
Really good build quality and I’m only upset a little that there were no full board sizes and I had to get the TKL.
But that’s a supply problem and not reason to give this anything other than what it truly deserves, a big old 5* out of 5* review.
Thanks GMMK. You’ve made me a person who will never go back to none-custom keyboards thanks to your awesome product and ease of first time use.
Excellent keyboard and the ability to swap a mix switches adds fine tuning to your gameplay.
Only downside was the delivery from the usually very good overclockers, mine was shipped without a delivery address which caused major confusion between DOD, Amazon and myself. Amazingly the keyboard still arrived when stated so credit to Overclockers for sorting the issue out so quickly.
This is my first time buying a mechanical keyboard and I wanted something that can be customised/altered in the future with a “less is more” aesthetic.
Pros:
1) The black TKL Ansi version I got is a 2020 model which is now USB C which was a nice surprise as the reviews here and on youtube refer to older models that were micro usb.
2) Can be upgraded with different keycaps and switches
3) RGB if that’s your cup of tea.
4) Ansi layout, again if that’s your cup of tea. My PC is still running a ISO layout (as that’s my preference) so will probably replace keys for ISO prints in the future…I just like the ANSI enter key haha.
5) Comes with decent box for storage/transport with plastic dust shield.
Cons:
1) have to have brown Gaterons. Would have been nice to have been able to pick the switches…but assume that would have come with a price tag for customisation.
2) would be cool to have a couple more rgb lights under the space bar, only 1 light where the switch is.
Overall a great starter kit, with all the bits to get you started, was worth the 150 price tag. Sounds good, feels good, plays good, looks good etc etc
Perfect size
Hi have a 60% keyboard for a good few years, and always felt it was limited to my, I like to use the F key and Arrow key. So when I saw this, I instant wanted my old keyboard to break haha. I got my wish and ordered this instant. It is perfect, the right size and the perfect partner for my Glorious Model O gaming mouse!
The feel and sound is spot on for me, but with the ability to mod this within an inch of its live in terms of keys etc. Love it!
Great build quality and price. The build is sturdy and has no flex to it. The feet open to a comfortable height and the customisability is great. I put some kailh speed pink switches in mine which is not an option offered by Glorious but still fit the SMD 3 pin connectors it has on the board. The whole build costed me 120 which with quality and features offered is a very compelling price for something you can tailor to your own preference. If 4.7 stars was possible i would give it that as the rgb is a little dimmer than I hoped but is not too dim that its distracting or causes issues with the lighting.
Being new to mechanical keyboards, I did not want to buy a keyboard with switches that I did not like. I ended up getting this GMMK TKL ISO layout keyboard, and then bought 10 different packs of switches from different sellers. It allowed me to try 10 keys of each on the actual keyboard for a more genuine test than a single switch.
Through the testing, I came to the conclusion that Kailh Box Heavy Pale Blues are the ones that I really like, despite initially thinking that I was going to end up with a tactile switch.
The board is pretty solid. There’s a slight metallic twang when you’re typing away, which happens with all switches, regardless of colour. I think it’s because it is a solid piece of metal, and the vibrations just make a sound. It’s not too loud, or obnoxious, but it’s certainly there.
The cable is long, and feels very solid. Yes, it is MicroUSB, but you get a cable in the box, so what’s the problem?
One review on YouTube stated that the lights were a bit less intensive than they would have liked, but I find that there is ample brightness on the LEDs, particularly with pudding caps (HyperX do black-on-white UK layout pudding keycaps – unfortunately ABS rather than PBT, but still great).
The software for controlling macros and lighting is okay. It’s pretty straightforward. The macros are simple ones, but they work.
All in all, a great keyboard!
Nice led lights on board and I really like the design with a chamfered metal edge. I don’t use the custom lighting software much, but it seems to offer lots of options.
I think most mech keyboards are overpriced. This is very good value but you will have to pay another 50 or so to get nice switches and keycaps. This means the cost comes in under around 120, which is at the low end compared to other “pro” keyboards like the Apex, however I also own other TKL keyboards that are just as good and cost under 100.
One small criticism is that the stabiliser on the spacebar is not great and it feels like the keycap is sometimes hitting the plate before bottoming out on the switch.
Overall, a solid choice but I might look for a way to replace the stabilisers.
Given the price and availability it’s one of the best barebone you can buy. The keyboard is light, but well built and no flex whatsoever. Highly recommended for people who like me wanted to try exotic switches without the hassle of buying expensive kits and messing with soldering. The backlight control is basic but functional, and it does not require any additional software.
The keyboard supports only 3 pin switches, so if you plan to use 5 pins switches you need to remove the 2 extra plastic prongs (very easy operation) before placing them.
GMMK 60% Keyboard For The Win!
Excellent keyboard, I built this with Gateron Red switches, Glorious ISO ABS Caps & some HK Gaming PBT pudding caps. I absolutely love it. I still have a full size keyboard on my desk for work, but this 60% keyboard gets all the game time. The build quality of this keyboard is perfect, nice and solid and looks clean. I would also recommend the Model D mouse from glorious….. I used to be a Logitech fanboy but I’m a big fan of this company now!
If you are looking for a hot swap keyboard with solid quality then this is an excellent choice without breaking the bank or needing to build your own from scratch from globally sourced parts!
LEDs are bright enough for what I want and need. The software is a little lacking in terms of customisation but nothing that AutoHotKey cannot fix.
It feels solid, heavy and was the quality I was hoping it would be when it arrived well packaged and with lots of accessories.
Your typing experience will vary greatly on the choice of your switch and keycap but either way this is an excellent way into getting into mechanical keyboards. The compact size of 60% saves lots of space on a desk and once you get used to the hot keys for various shortcuts it feels natural.
Awesome!
