Couldn’t recommend this enough if you have the right size TV.
A slight pain to get the white balance and the saturation right but after that worth every penny

Had my media wall built and was looking fir some led lights to put behind the tv. I did originally order just standard led lights… I then cane across the Govee immersion rgbic lights. I am so happy I went with these it really changed the whole look of my media unit. So easy to install with the step by step instructions. recommend these to anyone definitely worth the price.

After buying the Phillips hue lights and being very dissapointed that we would have to spend around 440 in total just to get the tv lights to work we found these beauties! So simple to install and make watching movies such a great experience! Find they work very well on childrens cartoons, very happy with how simple the app is and the price is so affordable for the quality!

It’s a bit fiddly to set up. The straps are plated into sections with wires at each corner to help in making the turns, but these aren’t placed appropriately for my 55″ Sony (the verticle sections are a tad too long). There are also not quite enough support clips in the pack so had to buy some extra.

Quality wise once up it works a treat. The apps great and once you’ve set it up it works a treat. Not an exact colour match but close enough that it enhances what your watching.

Bought a second for my friends 65″ sky glass and I feel installation on this will be much easier.

I thought about whether or not to buy this for a while, was it just a gimmick? But a pre christmas price drop helped my decision. I followed the fitting instructions and found them very straight forward (except my tv is 49 inch so I had to make some minor adjustments in two corners). My tv is against a flat wall and the effect is really impressive. There are many videos on Youtube which will show what the kit can do (search for Govee Immersive). My visitors that have seen the “upgraded” tv set up have all agreed its well worth it and a definite enhancement. A great buy, you wont be disappointed.

95% perfect. Colours change with the very smallest of delays. Not hard to set up,25 mins total. If you have a light coloured wall behind the screen , I don’t so that’s the missing 5%. Not the kits fault. Buy it with no regrets

Very easy to set up and amazing product for the prize compared to other competitors. Just wish there was different sizes, didn’t realise this was for 55inch upwards and my tv is 50 but managed to make it work with couple of loops on the corners. Definitely recommend.

First of all, the blue led’s on the cabinet are sold separately, actually from Amazon.
My only gripe is the strips just aren’t sticky enough, even with a nice clean TV back. No idea how long they will stop on. The control box for the lights is actually in the cabinet, but you will need a USB extension lead for this. Also, the camera isn’t stuck to the TV, it’s on top of the cabinet. Don’t bother with the orange sticky pads, because YouTube has a calibration video / screen for doing it. Photos were taken during the day…..but it was dull outside.
Overall I’m genuinely pleased with the product and final result.

    Nice results

I had the very old Govee TV lights, without the camera version….. and I thought they were good. Well this version is a different level completely. Watching my favourite film the Matrix is well, just WOW! OK so it’s a bit of a faff to set up the camera but once you get it right and the saturation dialled in the end result is so impressive. Great product from Govee again, keep up the good work Govee.

At the price I wasn’t expecting great results, but I was so wrong!

The setup took a bit of faffing but I’m chuffed to bits with the results – picking up the screen colours and extending with the backlight.

I’ve a 48″ TV so smaller than Govee specify, so I’ve had to loop the strips as you can’t cut them, but it’s worked ok at that size. Any smaller screen-wise and I don’t think it would work so well – fingers crossed Govee do a smaller version.

The normal Movie mode is good too. It’s really responsive.
I did have an issue with the first set I bought but it was replaced very quickly following great customer service.

So this was our first time getting RGB lights, we wanted it for our main TV 55inch LG BX OLED. Overall we are very happy with the product and what they can actually do. For 50 quid, you can’t go wrong.

I’d looked into Hue and others, I wasn’t happy with the fact you can’t play 120hz via HUE and their sync box. I like to get the most out of my PS5, so this was a must for me. The govee immersion kit allows this, as it is a camera picking up colour from your TV in pretty much instant response times. It’s very impressive. It makes the image pop, and helps with further immersion. Genuinely works amazingly with games, films, TV even, and especially animations such as Moana, Teen Titans Go etc. Fortnite looks incredible too.

I would advise a few of things though…

    1. Get the light strips as close to the edges as possible. You can peel and adjust if needed but be careful.
    2. You don’t need to be in total darkness for them to work. But atleast turn off your ceiling lights or anything reflecting into the TV from your lounge area.
    3. Turn saturation down to 0, this way it’ll be closer to the colours on screen. But do get used to browns coming out as reds. Its close enough!
    4. Use Game mode and partial lighting settings. These will ensure it is running at a faster response time, and to be honest it’s near instant for me.
    5. Get cable tie clips with adhesive backs, use these to stick the corner wires down tighter to your TV, otherwise the wires can get in the way and affect the lighting. You’ll basically just see on the wall that there’s wires dangling.
    6. You really do just get used to the camera sitting above the TV. We used one of thw white boxes included to wedge between the base lip of the camera and the top back of the TV, this helps keep the camera steady. We then layer the lighting over the top of this when sticking it to the TV. I’ve used electrical tape to then tape the box securely to the TV. The camera is now much steadier. Without doing this the camera is barely holding on to our OLED panel as it is so thin. These last two tips were from a guy on youtube, give them a watch, just search govee immersion set up or something similar.

All in all, very happy with the product, and would highly recommend.

One star deducted for set up.
    Otherwise 5 stars !
Took a while to set up with the WiFi!

TIP: Set the saturation level to zero (in the app) the colours are a lot more accurate then.

Bit fliddy to install on my LG CX OLED 55 as the strips were just a bit too long to fit comfortably. When installed and calibration complete they work really really well. To be honest I didn’t expect that much considering they were pretty cheap (compared to the alternatives), I was pleasantly surprised. Fast response, good colour matching, I’d recommend them, looks great with my PS5 too. Shown my mates, all impressed!

When I saw a video of immersive lights for a TV, I was already 100% sure that I needed this feature. I was originally going to go for a Phillips Ambilight TV that has this feature in-built but reviews noted that those TVs were glitchy, so as an alternative I went for a good reliable 55-inch LG TV and bought these Govee lights instead.

Now, here is the crux. Govee Immersion lights use a camera pointed at your screen to determine what colours to shine from the LED strip. Overall I would say it does its job quite well (see random video I took). However, it’s not 100% perfect and can sometimes throw out slightly off colours (but bear in mind that as visuals are constantly changing on TV this is not very noticeable, and I think it’s not a big deal). So I am happy with it, but before you buy it, you really have to bear in mind these things:

1 – The LED strips were too long even for my 55-inch TV. I really had to do a bit of manoeuvering and twisting of the connecting wires so that bits weren’t sticking out the edges. I managed to make it work but it was a bit annoying and could have been designed a bit better. There’s probably no way of avoiding seeing the wires and LED strips from the side of the TV (but you can avoid seeing them from the front).

2 – What the camera sees is important. To get the most correct colours, your room has to be dark, when my lights are on, the camera tends to bias towards yellow due to light reflecting off the TV into the camera.

3 – From the close angle of the camera, your TV might have a slight tint when the screen has a ‘black’ picture which can lead to asymmetry of lighting. For me, during black scenes, the left side lights have a very slight blue tinge while the right side has a slight yellow tinge (just due to the TV itself). I have not seen any way to offset this, but again it’s quite minor and I think most people wouldn’t even notice.

4 – It doesn’t turn on automatically with the TV. If you want the lights on, you have to turn it on and off in the app. But that’s ok. I don’t have it on casually anyway, just when I’m watching a cinematic movie or gaming.

A big positive in my opinion is the app. Not only can you have immersive lights based on the camera, you can also have “sound based” lights that just flash random colours in beat with the music/sound. You can also just have a fixed colour, and can also control the general brightness and saturation of the colours. The app is great.

All in all, a good product. Not perfect but a neat add-on to make your TV fancier. As long as you are ok with the quirks above, you should be good.

Once you’ve tinkered with settings (turned saturation down to nearly 0 and put movie setting on part not full)- you will have a nearly perfect viewing experience – for footy I put it on full – the green light just adds to the footy vibe! You can also control most functions through Alexa including turning them off (really helpful as they require their own power supply and not everyone powers devices off at the socket every night) – I can’t actually watch the TV day or night without these immersion lights now – just get them!!

I recently changed from a Phillips ambilight tv to sky glass I didn’t realise how much I would miss the active bias lighting. This is a great substitute and the only downside is the camera stuck to the top of the screen. Works very well if you follow some YouTube videos for calibration and settings

Despite the positives, the “aura” mode despite all kinds of tinkering is hit and miss. The app has plenty of settings aswell as customs so cant complain to much for static and pattern lighting.

First thing I’ll say is, if you own a LG OLED TV you will struggle to install this. Its certainly do-able but the webcam doesn’t account for slim TVs which is really bizarre. I saw many people negatively review the adhesion but i honestly didnt have an issue. One part of the LEDs did come off due to one of the little clips drying out. But they give you so many spare ones I just replaced it and everything was ok. I think they need to find another way for the webcam to see the tv. Maybe make it wireless somehow or allow us to tilt the head of the webcam to perfect it (i fitted the webcam to the bottom of my tv since its huge). Installing and setting up the app on my phone was really easy, same with Alexa (Alexa is amazing with this product). The colours are great, i have a white wall. But i would say it’ll likely look better if your TV is flat to the wall to help the light travel further. The movie/game modes are nice although i found the colours to be a tiny bit off sometimes and there’s a slight delay which is a little distracting for me. Music mode is fun but i haven’t properly used it yet. I personally just like a fixed backlight and i just ask alexa to change the colour depending on the vibe. Overall, it’s not perfect but I’m happy i got it.

There’s a lot of positives about the govee. Easy installation and calibration. Ability to use internal TV apps and any sources and no limitations like hdmi implementation boxes. Also for the price it does give you an immersive experience at a very good price. Make sure you use the YouTube calibration videos to avoid sticking the red cubes on your TV. Like others reduce the brightness to under 50% and saturation under 15% to get best results. What’s not great is the installation of the camera on an oled. Had to improvise to install. There’s also limited option to mount the camera further away to make it more discreet as a) you need an extension to the usb cable and b) the increased distance makes the angle to the TV more accute making calibration and reduces viewing angle of camera. Also colour accuracy is hit and miss in skin tones. I’ve installed 2 of thes units and found best results with oled in a dark room. Camera does pickup ambient light from lamps etc so make sure you experiment. Overall very pleased

    Almost perfec

It’s easy to install and calibrate but it takes a few tweaks to get it to work with your tv, someone suggested changing the brightness and saturation which did help! It picks up on reds and blues well but it’s not perfect. I bought it in the Black Friday sale so felt better spending 50 rather than 80. It is good and the app is good too, it has many other lighting modes to choose from, I think if I fiddle with the settings enough it’ll be fine. I was never expecting it to be perfect but I am happy with it and would buy agai

Great lights and really does give you a immersive experience. The strip lighting is strong and goes on well as does the camera.
The only thing that stops me giving the five stars is that the power cable really needs to be longer.

Totally Impressed with this and how it operates, calibration took a little working out but i did find a you tube video that has the squares on it in red against a black screen and when i used that it was much easier, now that i have it set up i do love it, it seems to change colours fast and adds to watching tv. It has a lot of other modes such as music sync etc but so far i have not looked at those. I would certainly recommend it, especially for the price

Way too many leds for my little 42″er.
But does the job impressively well.
Given that I did it after work one evening at about 1am, it was relatively easy & it looks pretty damn good. I had to loop the strip a few times on the back of the tv & as a result it didn’t adhere that well so i just added small strips of gaffer tape.
The app is not so great tbh, with limited functionality.
I have connected it to my Google Home routines so it automatically turns on when I get home.
The leds are bright. I use them at all times of day to help set an ambience & although they obviously come into their own at night, they are still visible in daylight.

Mounted this to a 55″ LG OLED TV with the camera bottom centre.
I used a right angle metal bracket and some 3M hook and loop adhesive strips to secure just below the power button. The TV remote control operation remains fine.

My TV is mounted into an alcove but stands about 30cm proud of the wall with the edges of the TV against the edges of the alcove. This means the edge LED’s stand out rather too brightly. In addition, on one side, my wall is rather red. This emphasises the LED’s tendency to be red on dark scenes.

The app is great and it works OK with Alexa once I’d worked out it needs skills set up to do more that the basic on and off!

I like the sound to light mode – improves crap music videos! 🙂

I think it would work better with a plain white background – it would be nice if the app allowed the background colour to be set so the LED’s turned down the red a bit! It would also be nice if the video mode allowed the brightness to be set for each zone so I could turn down the edges a bit.

Overall, quite happy with it, despite my TV not being mounted in the best way.

Works as expected but really needs TV to be flat mounted on plain white wall.

It’s definitely not perfect in matching the colours on screen but it is good enough and relatively smart enough that it enhances the viewing experience in the movie mode.

I will say that if you have a smaller TV (<50") laying out the LEDs can be a bit messy as the string is really long and you have to double back.

Was easy to set up and connect to via the app and to link to Alexa.

Overall when comparing it to the costs of an ambilight TV or the other alternatives (sync boxes) this is a no brainer if you're on a budget.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersCan’t fault it. Read the instructions carefully. Every step is crucial in calibration. I would suggest to ignore the orange squares and go to you tube on your TV. Search govie immersive calibration. You’ll find a white screen with red squares. It’s perfect. It really does highten your experience watching videos. Music mode is fantastic too for parties. Smart TV with Spotify. Excellent. The app is so easy to use. My video gives you an idea, but bear in mind I have a blue wall. The colour of your wall will affect the colour you see. Still. It looks incredible. A couple of mediocre reviews in here. I say to them. You tube, calibrate, review again. Great for gamers too. One thing to keep in mind. Do not buy for anything under 55 inch. It just won’t fit, 65 I’d say would be the limit. Create your own setups, share them.l, use others that people have shared. A real cinematic experience, despite not having this in a cinema. Be patient and set it up properly and you will be 100% satisfied. I personally have an Oled TV and the pair beautifully. If your tempted, bow to it. Worth it. Just remember, take your time. Follow instructions. Then chill in glorious colour.

Have used both this and the hue sync box. This is a good option as this works with exactly whats on the screen. The sync box will only work with what is plugged in, so built in tv apps don’t work.

Easy to install and once u calibrate works a treat. I found adding a mobile ND filter (clip on) to the camera gave better light accuracy and overall better colour representation. Downside you lose a little brightness of the lights but better colour accuracy for me makes up for it. Anyway if u want to go bright just take the clip of the camera.
Overall really happy and will definitely look at pther Govee light products to add to collection.

This is the most amazing thing I ever bought on Amazon! Can not watch TV unless this is on, it just doesn’t feel like that’s what it’s suppose to look like anymore. The light gives such dept on the room and you feel like you are the immersive character in the situation. I played God Of War using the light and found myself really punching my brother (oops!). He’s fine! 🙂

Anyway, the light is super easy to assemble and set up, it connects to Alexa and that make life so much easier. The camera on top of the TV doesn’t bother us as we barely notice it, and I am the type of person that notices every single detail thing (annoying life).

JUST BUY IT, YOU DON’T HAVE TO RATIONALISE EVERYTHING!!!! IT WILL BE GOOD FOR THE ECONOMY.

These are brilliant. Makes watching tv a better experience. Found the calibration a bit fiddly at 1st as couldn’t see the whole screen with the markers on my phone properly. Seemed to have done it though as used one of the ambilight colour testing videos on YouTube & it’s the same colours. I’ve used the ‘Part’ settings & turned down the ‘Saturation’ to about 20% on Video settings. My tv is in a corner too, and still looks great.

Golden Review Award: 23 From Our UsersI recently had to get my broken Philips TV replaced under warranty and unfortunately another Philips wasn’t an option so I had to lose their signature Ambilight feature which I absolutely loved. It added so much to the experience, lighting envelops the whole room, atmospheric colours spreading over the back wall. The impact of lightning, explosions, fire or flashing lights was extra immersive for movies and gaming.

I looked into the options of replicating this for my new LG TV, which at the time were basically this device and the Philips Hue back-light which can be added to any TV by buying several devices adding up to an absolutely eye-watering amount of money. This includes buying the HDMI sync box, which cripples the HDMI capability (it is only compatible with HDMI 2.0, which means a lot of modern standards are out of the window) and doesn’t allow for non-HDMI content, such as the TV’s built-in smart functions or Freeview channels. Plus, I can’t stress this enough, the price of this is ridiculous, you would be talking several hundred pounds, more than some TVs.

I was initially put off the Govee Immersion by the antenna-like camera which looked pretty noticeable in every picture, and not something I was eager to ruin the aesthetics of the TV with. I was also a bit apprehensive about the colour accuracy too, which came up in a few reviews and pictures. I happened to see a review which mentioned there was a recent update which meant the camera could now be mounted at the bottom of the TV, which got me thinking about ways to hide it. Then I happened across a Youtube video which did exactly that. Added to this I noticed 20 quid had been knocked off the RRP so I decided to go for it.

Setup was ok, I found it easy enough but the corners were a bit messy. I ended up using black electrician-tape to stick the looped corner wires down. Instead of sticking the camera on the TV itself I managed to hide it a bit using a small black box on my TV stand. The lens can still see the TV but the camera is quite incognito.

To calibrate the camera you’re provided with some adhesive red foam cubes to stick in the corners and edges of the TV for the camera to recognise the boundaries. I didn’t like the idea of sticking things to my TV screen but thankfully somebody had uploaded a video on Youtube which you can use to do the same thing (a static white screen with red squares in the corners/edges to replicate the stickers).

Once everything is set up, using the downloadable phone app, you’re up and running. There are several settings on the app and as well as having the lights react to the screen you can have static colours, animated colours and also audio-reactive colours as well. You can set timers and schedules as well.

The lights react very quickly to the screen content, I don’t notice any discernible lag. The colour accuracy is hit and miss. Sometimes the lights favour extremes, so they’ll often show red/green/blue rather than a more nuanced colour. It’s weird, because you can often see what you’d expect the correct colours to be being shown on other occasions. Setting the saturation to its lowest setting (don’t worry, this is still in colour) and lowering the brightness setting does help a bit, but it’s weird to see, for example, pale orange show as bright red sometimes but accurately pale orange other times.

Overall, this is a good, affordable alternative to Ambilight/Hue and I would recommend. It’s a couple of niggles away from being perfect but it should still greatly enhance most people’s viewing experiences.

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersI recently had to get my broken Philips TV replaced under warranty and unfortunately another Philips wasn’t an option so I had to lose their signature Ambilight feature which I absolutely loved.

Great on the back of my Samsung 75 TV.
It’s not perfect with colour matching, and spotlights or lamps will alter the colour.
But a great product for the price compared to Philips hue which is 4 times more expensive

Like me, if you occasionally like to online ‘window’ shop at gadgets and technology, you’ve probably seen all the dodgy Chinese sellers on the likes of Facebook claiming they are selling backlit TV lighting that mimics the technology of Phillips Ambilight technology (and all the bad reviews they get if you dig a little deeper if they work in the slightest)
Well this is the real deal. Is it 100% spot on to what’s shown on screen 100% of the time? probably not – EXCEPT if you’re in a pitch black room. This is due to the camera picking up any light reflecting off the screen. My camera is installed below the screen so any daylight or lounge lighting will give my white ceiling a slight orange hue, which because of the angle of the camera is whaqt it can see. If it was top mounted, then in a similiar way, it would pick up the light off the tv cabinet below the TV. I was a bit confused as to why the LEDs weren’t turned off at first when nothing was on screen, but then realised I could see it was picking up this colour by angling my head up from where the camera points (and can be seen when aligning the camera from the app) so the camera picks this up when the screen is black, so the LEDs don’t turn off, but show this colour from behind the TV. For me, this really isn’t offensive at all. It keeps up with scene changes and when there is content on screen it mimics it incredibly well.

If you want a cinema experience then at night, or blackout blinds shut, then it really does SING. I’ve tried all the youtube ambilight demo videos and it looks immense. Flashes of lightning or colour orbs going across the screen, it follows it all incredibly well. This bit of kit is such ridiculously good value for what it does. – And even if you don’t want the ever changing lights, the control over setting the individual sections to a paticular ‘still’ colour is fantastic. – I’ve got a kind of sunrise going on, with bright yellow/orange in the lower centre of the screen, going into oranges and red, before a sky blue at the top. It looks stunning.

Without the camera or impressively good ‘ambilight features’ just this control and brightness/vividness of the LEDs is worth the cost of this item alone. Highly recommend!

Absolutely brilliant. I followed the instructions and had no problems at all. I started my led lights from the bottom right corner (back) moving up going anti-clockwise. My camera is under the TV. My TV is a 55inch curved Samsung 4k series 7 this was there flagship TV when I purchased it.

I have been playing around with DIY RGB for a few years now and while I have managed to get some custom setups working great on my PC using apps I have never found a good solution for the TV. Even Philips HUE Play was not up to the task as I would say that 80-90% plus of the content we consume are through built-in apps such as Plex, Youtube, Netflix, etc. So seeing as Philips requires an HDMI input to decode the image that is a non-starter and it just wasn’t worth it for just gaming.

These Govee lights with the fairly discrete camera and easy to install RGB strips however work brilliantly. I am very impressed with it. I can see a lot of people asking me where I got it.

It seems to works well on movies
I placed the camera at the bottom of the tv it works ok

The Govee system is practically fool proof to install! Just ensure you have the correct size tv before ordering as there may be so much of the string of lights dangling off at one end. Even so the lights still make the area around your tv look amazing even if they’re dangling below *yes I made this mistake before ordering*. They are applied easily due to the effective adhesive on the light strip, just ensure to wipe down your tv as per instructions. The lights work super well with the app and what kind of setting you put it on! Over all a fantastic product!

But I am very very happy and cannot recommend this product anymore. It surpasses my expectations! It was easy to set up and with the voice control it’s fun and simple use make it even more enjoyable and worth spending the money!

I first looked into ambiance a few years back, but did not want to go the DIY route. I looked at the offering from a well new brand & the eye watering price put me off. I had heard of Govee before, as I have an LED string from the same brand, so knew the product was well backed & supported by the manufacturer.
Now I put this kit on a large 75″ TV – I know this is designed for up to 65″
I am impressed with the result. Colours can be off a bit due to the wrong size (hopefully Govee will make a bigger kit soon!). I have mounted the camera at the bottom & blends in between my TV & Soundbar so it is not noticable. It is worth the price. I find the whole experience means I am not just focusing on a rectangle on my wall, but actually absorbing my full eyesight with flashes of colour bouncing of the rear wall. I plan on adding some RGB panels from the company & will set those up as sound sensitive, so hopefully will interact the TV noise.

Set it up on my 55 inch OLED TV LGBX that’s on the wall.
the lights just about fit it and you can not put this camera on the top as it’s thin.
So I put it on the bottom next to the power button as you can not place it over the power button.
It stayed there for a few hours and fell off as it’s not a perfect fit.

So I placed my centre surround speaker just below the TV and placed the camera under the speaker and it has stayed.
You will need to calibrate again if you do this and it will work fine.

I have it on game video part mode always for games and movies as they change faster then the movie mode.
I didn’t see the difference until I found out the movie one is for a smoother colour change transition.

Do the test on YouTube and a big tip next ,
Type in Govee calibration and you don’t have to measure the tv for the squares you need to put on as it will show it for you.
Also place them on gently so you do t ruin the TV screen.

At first thing out of the box it didn’t completely work, only two of the four stips lighted up. Support, however, explained how to reset the system and now all four strips work – this could have been in the instructions or on the app.
The strips adhere to the back of the TV fine. However, the loops created between strips could be more flexible so less unsightly. Set-up needs a bright room so the camera picks up the markers.
The main issue is that on a lot of dark pictures, for some reason it will light as red instead of just dimming, I like it but it isn’t perfect.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersFirst up easy to install, easy to configure brightness levels are brilliant, there’s like a half a second delay but it’s hardly noticeable, I mean for 70quid you can’t go wrong , I’ve had govee lights before the 13.99 ones, unfortunately due to me moving I took them off the TV to re box it, so I decided to get this for the price I wasn’t expecting much right, a wish version of Philip’s ambilight…well guess what there not from wish straight out of box it felt like a premium peoduct, so easy to install I had no problems with and I’m not the most patient man but this was a breeze, plenty of YouTube videos if you get stuck. Like I said the only con was a half a second delay which ent really noticeable, now I left a video with me launching some games but I nearly had a childhood fit of pure joy when I was swinging in Times Square as spiderman on the PS5 I also watched black widow with it on. So impressed that I’m using govee to buy all my smart bulbs etc etc. The app has so many options I haven’t got the time to list them all but all needs are being catered for the app is easy to install and easy to use, even for old fella like me, also I notice especially with gaming the picture pops a bit with a back light, it’s also easy on the eye as in I play games for long periods and eye strain has always been a problem but not anymore. Really pleased with this purchase. If your sitting on the fence about getting it , don’t dive straight in the water is lovely.

Firstly it’s no Philips hue system but at a hugely reduced price to that system this is amazing. Easy to install. The calibration needs a little tweaking , I find it better to go out beyond the blocks used. The app is very user friendly and has a few other options for just playing the lights to music etc. I would say the yellows and greens can be a little off but all leds struggle with those colours. One thing that would make it perfect would be if it’s could also be powered by usb. Most new tvs have USB’s and it’s one less ugly cable hanging out the back of the tv.

Running a test video on You Tube showed an accurate reflection of the colours being displayed on the screen in all the correct points.

One point to note is that instead of using the sticky markers for the calibration a simple search on You Tube brings up a calibration video that replicates the markers. Saved a lot of time and hassle.

After installing a Philips ambilight TV for a relative, I was looking to find the same effect for my 65 inch Samsung TV. This product was advertised at a really good price if it could produce close to this effect onto my white wall (it only works correctly on white walls.) Packaging, content and instructions looked and felt very premium and instalation was somewhat painless. I opted to mount the camera at the base of the TV as my soundbar would completely hide it, and the set up app walked me through calibration without confusion (the foam pads that attaches to the TV for calibration removed without any damage or residue). Settings are vast for this product but I personally would only use video to project the TV screens colours onto my wall. I have set my options to brightness 100 and saturation to zero as this still gives the best colour accuracy with the benefit of showing a black screen as a soft white. Speed options I have went for game over the movie setting as this adapts to my TV colours at a quicker pace. I encountered one issue after hours of beautifully displayed colours where on Video setting the LED lights begun to strobe/flicker. This has been corrected after a restart of the hub that attaches to the back of your TV (I did have to recalibrate the device again) but touch wood it has not delevlped the flickering again. The accompanying footage shot does not represent what I see visually (greens and yellows are more pronounced)

Very pleased at this affordable device. Does what it says.

Accuracy is amazing depending on what you’re watching if it’s an animation or a show with lots of bright and colourful scenes the immersion is something amazing to use when watching it. If you’re watching a show on bbc ITV or channel 5 (day time tv) that isn’t colourful it will just show up with bules or reds. Calibration is easy, but when taking off the foam stickers don’t yank it off, take it off by turning it. You can use it on a 50 inch tv by bending the strip. I used it on a 55inch tv and that was still hard. When using you want to keep the saturation low while having the brightness pretty high (adjust to you’re setting). Depending on the time of the day blacks won’t show up, it needs to be a pitch black room.

It’s a great product and is fairly accurate, it’s not perfect compared to the more expensive versions on the market but this works with all images on your TV rather than only working with sources plugged in through HDMI.
The LEDs are a tad long for a 55inch TV with small bezels so the link wires protrude slightly at the corners but I’ll be able to tidy them up. Also the camera mounting isn’t great for an OLED screen but I was able to easily make a spacer to accommodate this.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’ve already got the excellent Govee RGBIC LED light strips elsewhere in the house but thought I’d treat myself to this for the TV in the lounge, a 55″ Panasonic OLED.

Very easy to set up with the Govee App, connect to Wifi and run through the instructions to position the camera and pads so you can customise the screen size. Switch to video mode in the app and the colours do switch instantly to mirror the colours on the screen. I’ve got the TV on a stand so slightly away from the wall but the LEDs are bright and the area behind the TV lights up to give you than immersive feel and the feeling of extending the screen size.

The LED strips come in 4 lengths to go all round all top and bottom and both sides of the TV unlike the Philips Hue Gradient light strip which only covers 3 sides. Given the current promotion price an absolute steal compared to what Philips are asking for their sync box and gradient light strip to basically do the same thing. I positioned the camera at the bottom of the TV screen and to be honest don’t notice it.

Also no problem connecting to the Alexa App for extra functionality.

Whether you’re watching a movie or the football these definitely add to the experience. Would recommend.

Golden Review Award: 43 From Our UsersWas a little dubious after reading some reviews, even more dubious after setting it up to flickering… This was on the default mode but it stopped when changing to movie (which is all I’d use it for).

Setup was a breeze, pretty enjoyable to be honest with all the adhesive parts, etc.

I have a Samsung q90t and while it’s not designed for it at the back, I just stuck the bottom strip around the stand, seems to be alright so far. I think the thiness of the bezel though means the camera couldn’t quite see the top blocks, but thankfully the app lets you manually move the TV points via a camera photo.

After getting it all attached though it was only a few minutes to get to all running via the app.

Colours are mostly really accurate, but often they’ll be completely off for some reason, it really struggles with yellows and, for some reason it’s often pink/purple just above the webcam. But to be honest, it isn’t that annoying.

Overall… very pleased. Definitely recommended for those with the correct TV and conditions.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersVery happy with the product. Does what it says on the tin. Can control the light from an app on the phone and it’s fast enough

I used the kit to enhance my movie and gaming experience with my 65″ TV. Installation was easier than I thought, however, I had to plan ahead. I have deliberately chosen a tilt bracket for the TV in order to manage to hide the cables and control unit.

Golden Review Award: 28 From Our UsersIs this product great, no. Does it make a massive difference? Yes. Would I buy it again? Definitely.

A couple of things to note. The power cable is way too short. It gets nowhere near where I need it to so I need to source a replacement. I think it’s about 1.5m long.

If your TV is like mine, on the wall and slanted, note that the leds will be close to the wall at the bottom. I’ve had to straighten mine a little so I can’t see the individual lights on the wall. I think this would look much nicer on a free standing or flat against the wall TV setup with an equal amount of space all around.

The effects are really good. I’ve not used them much, but the music option looks good.

For the price (compared to the hue), you can’t grumble. I’m very happy with them and I can’t watch the TV without them on now.

    Treat yourself!

    Good, but not grea

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI’ve been waiting for this to hit the UK for a few months, very easy to install and the downloadable app is easy to use. including installation and configuration I had everything ready to go in approx 30 mins.

The immersion this adds to the scene is mind blowing, it feels like you are surrounded by the content you are watching.

The app come with some great features, I particularly like the music sync, it’s turned my room in to a night club .

    I Highly recommend this product.

Golden Review Award: 81 From Our UsersI’m a great lover of Govee products and this is my 8th product of theirs. Overall for the money, especially against Phillips Hue comparison it’s a no brainier. Is it perfect? No, but it probably gets the colours more right than wrong. Calibration is key as is adjusting the saturation and brightness. I still don’t think mine is perfect but here gives you an idea with the video attached. If you have a soundbar under the tv, having the camera situated behind is far better (aesthetically) than on top of the tv. I still think there are improvements required, but I like it on whole.
