Seeds that actually work in clay
I bought these seeds, because of the positive reviews. I have loads of clay in my garden and others grass seeds didn’t want to grow. However this product is a miracle, after week after seeding I have baby grass.
Very good grass
I decided to remove my gravel area and have grass grow back. I keep buying seeds to help with the patches and also make the grass thicker. A tip for other customers would be use it either in spring or autumn when it’s raining a lot. The seeds require a lot watering.

I have never found a grass seed that actually does what it says on the box until now. From seed to grass in under two weeks, my lawn is like a carpet. I have recommended this seed to my family and friends as the value for money is fantastic. I will never use another grass seed.
Fast growing seeds!
I’ve tried many grass seeds to improve our lawn after the winter, into summer, and this is the best I’ve ever had!! It’s very fast germinating and growing!! We have shady, cold clay soil and yet it powered through! Took just over a week to germinate in inclement weather, but this is by far the fastest I’ve seen. Highly recommended!
Can't believe it actually worked
5 weeks between top and bottom picture, our garden barely had grass before and now is full of lovely green grass. Was going to buy terf but tried this as a last resort and do not regret at all! Saved me a lot of money. We had tried a different seed a few years back but didn’t make a difference so really pleased that this one actually worked.
The best grass seed on the marke
We’ve tried four different grass seeds on our new lawn and this is by far the fastest to germinate. It’s growing at a phenomenal rate and leaves Tesco’s best in the dust, which coincidentally is where most of that seed is lying.
I only wished I had ordered a bigger box and not had to resort to the Tesco brand.

Took less than 2 weeks to get a flourishing garden! Looking back, the grass looks very full, a year later it’s much more sparse despite being sold as a perennial ryegrass, ryegrass generally spreads and fills out – might not be a very good choice for gardens that receive very little light over the winter months.

I buy this every time I want to dig up the garden as it works so quickly giving such thick green grass. I am hopeless at growing anything apparently that includes garden centre grass seed but somehow good old reliable seems to always grow thick and green when I put it dow
So, I bought some grass seed from a well known DIY store and even a month after sowing there were only a few weeds growing! I bought this and in 10 days I have lots of green shoots. I’m very impressed with this product but now, I have more grass to mow
Works a trea
I made a mess of getting rid of the moss on my front lawn. I prepared the soil and put on the seed and to my amazement it’s really grown and filled out well. My neighbours have commented on how well my lawn looks.

Great service and delivery. We had a tree culled and our lawn was damaged during the process so I needed to repair a lot of patches/bare soil.
Easy to use, easy to put down just shake and rake (I did tread mine in after watering) really easy to use.
Photos are day 1, day 9 and day 18. Thankfully early October has been mild and a blend of all weathers so it’s grown well.
I raked the whole lawn and over seeded so it would blend after reading the reviews about it being very green and it looks lovely and healthy.

Grows well
I’m a useless gardener and my lawn has big bare patches. I thought I’d try this but didn’t have much hope as most things I plant, don’t grow or die! I followed the directions and cleared some of the bare patches down to the soil, liberally sprinkled this, lightly covered with compost and watered. Within a few weeks, bright green grass was sprouting nicely. Not ALL of my patches grew, but this is the first time I’ve had any grass seed actually grow for me!
This stuff is quite inexpensive too so will probably buy more.
Amazing
Have purchased countless boxes of this over the past few years. Did my whole lawn at my old house with this seed and it really is great. I also over seed yearly with this and it really does make the lawn thick and hard wearing for following summer.
Biggest tip is to water twice per day, maybe even 3 times per day if it’s hot. I usually water at around 9AM and 5PM. After around a week you will see seeds sprouting. Keep up the constant watering for around 3-4 weeks. Don’t cut until 5-6 weeks if possible and make sure the lawn mower is set high for it’s first cut.

I am genuinely shocked at how fast this stuff grows. Within a few days of laying the seed it had started to sprout. Within a few weeks I needed to mow. Would totally recommend

I will have some gaps to fill but it’s doing well, not sure if the heatwave this September has boosted it this week. I’ve been watering it a lot each evening so overall pleased how well and quick it’s came through.
Quick growth
I wanted to replace my slabs with grass but didn’t want to spend the money on turf, I thought I would try the seeding option instead, I was not disappointed, I did very little prep work before seeding and I left the seed for around 7-8 weeks before cutting, I’m glad I took the cheap option as I am very satisfied with the outcome, I also scattered some seeds over the area in my garden which is mostly moss, the seed even got through this and I can see a difference even in that area, will happily buy again if I need more.

Was very impressed with these grass seed. Very durable grass (two kids who love football) and grew very quickly. Have bought a few more boxes to reseed the rest of the lawn.

Keeps well, germinates quickly
Being lazy, I didn’t get round to sowing this for a year, though it was still within its use-by date.
I sprinkled it on the soil, raked it in (VERY important to help germination and fool the birds), went away for a few days, and it was already growing when I came back. With our rotten August weather I didn’t even bother watering.

Worked a treat.
Used this seed for a new lawn after digging up all the old dead roots. After about 2 weeks had a nice full lawn. Even better now than the pics. The only thing to bear in mind is that it is fast growing to get a nice lawn quickly. But it does carry on fast growing so needs to be cut more often. Overall very happy with the results.

We’re total novices with gardening and don’t even own a rake. But this turned out so well! We used two packs, sprinkled over bare patches where we moved a flower bed border and the whole lawn, used a broom over it lol, watered daily and 2- 3 weeks later we had beautiful, thick green lawn.
Wouldn’t use it to patch repair without going over whole lawn as well though as it’s a distinct bright green colour.
We will get one more box to fill in a few sparse patches, but we’re overall thrilled!!

Good quality but not sure about the name
Did this work yes. Have I got nice green grass yes. Was it Speedy, no, do the name is slightly misleading but the quality of the grass is nice, eventually.

Prior to speed seed I tried at least 3 different brands of seed products with sluggish or no results.
Enter Speedy seed, I was lured by the promise of speedy results and oh my did I get it – see pics!
Purchased Speedy seed during the recent 3-week wet weather spell in July 2023. I felt the rain helped immensely in keeping the soil moist on the daily. By my account, I saw the first shoots by day 6/7.
That said, here are the steps I followed to get the results you see in pic …
1) Week 1/2: First treat any weeds you’ve got … bought the 4 in 1 evergreen from B&Q.
2) Mow the lawn.
3) Aerate the soil (very important) – got lawn aerator shoes from Amazon to get a leg walkout but you can achieve same effect by raking the soil.
4) Water the soil using a garden water hose.
5) Apply Speedy Seed evenly across your lawn. Did this by hand (wearing garden gloves of course). As a test, I marked sections of the lawn to track progress.
6) Rake again to bake seeds into soil.
7) Water garden soil again.
8) Next day henceforth water garden mid morning and at night.
9) Then “on the seventh day” … Voila!

I don’t normally write reviews but here is a before and after picture.
My garden was a state for pretty much a year as there was so much growth around the side and back of the garden. Had it all chopped away and it left an uneven muddy mess. I had it de-weeded and during summer this dried up and clumped up and just looked horrible.
I broke down the hard lumps of soil and raked it level. I then scarified the grass a few times to get all the dead thatch out and then top soiled it as best as I could to what budget I had ( could have done with more top soil).
I then airated it and then used the seeds and airated it again and seeded again. I over seeded the sides and back as this was the area that needed most attention. Waited a week and nothing. I watered the garden religiously everyday as we were having a hot spell and I started to get deflated thinking all my hard work was for nothing.
I went away for a weekend and the mother in law looked after the pets. I left Friday afternoon. A week after laying the seeds and returned Sunday evening. To my surprise the seeds had germinated like crazy! Even my mother in law said the grass literally sprouted like mad over night. It’s had 2 cuts but I haven’t done them on the lowest setting on the lawn mower.
Granted there’s still a bit of work to do to get it where I want it to be but it just looks so much nicer than before! Just be patient with it.

I picked this as it was well priced and had good reviews. It didn’t look like much was happening the 1st week, but into the 2nd with LOTS AND LOTS OF water it suddenly took hold. I’m now 4 weeks in and done 2 high cuts, ive bought another box as I had missed a few patches/not enough water/ birds.
My only criticism is that on both deliveries It was sent it too large a box with no protection so both boxes had exploded into the larger amazon box. Didnt overly bother me, but was a faff getting it into another box
Looking at the first photo, you’ll see the sorry state of my lawn 25 days ago. My backyard looked liked a radioactive wasteland, filled with moss, dead grass and rocks. My wife really wante to have it renovated and apply fake grass with slabs. I asked her to give me a chance to revive it, and if it doesn’t work we agreed to go her way. It was now or never.
It wasn’t easy. I raked every single part of the lawn, took out the moss and thatch. Bought aerator slippers on Amazon and went to town, marching like a maniac. Then proceeded to overseed and cover with topsoil. Mind you, I only used about half an inch of top soil, just enough to cover the seeds. Watered daily, sometimes twice a day to keep the ground moist. The first 5 days 5 days was frustrating as it felt like nothing was growing. Then on the six day, small tiny blades of grass started to show. It growing process was so slow that it felt like watching paint dry. I just carried on watering daily then 2 weeks later it had grown to around 2-3 inches.
25 days later I finally gave it its frist trim. Mowing at the highest setting on the lawnmower. Now its looking plush still with patches on the sides but still very happy how it turned out.

I am sowing a new large area for lawn and am very pleased with the results so far. This grass looks nice now that it is beginning to grow. It took over two weeks before the first little blades of grass started to appear. It has been about a month now and there is still some bare patches. The grass that has grown is now ready to be cut. I will then sow extra seed in the bare patches. I have watered the seed most days to help germination and stop it from drying out.

Purchased to overseed lawn and patch up bald spots. I basically raked the ground chucked the seed down trod it in and three weeks later new gras.

Does what it says on the box I simply raked the area required, threw the seed at it and now I got grass….simple.
It’s been a couple of weeks now but the grass has started growing, (Few patches as the cat decided to have a dig). I think another week and it should be nice and thick. Have to make sure it’s watered every day even if you think it’s never going to grow, just keep at it and eventually it will. Would buy again

Had an area filled in the back yard with 3 ton of top soil and seeded the whole box on it. Been a cold April so been slow to start but after exactly 2 weeks.. boom the grass seed is sprouting and coming on nicely..Seems like good seed, recommend..
Really works
I put the seeds out 2 weeks ago. The first picture was growth from just 1 week and the second picture is growth after 2 weeks. I sprinkled it straight onto the mud and covered with a bit of compost. There’s been quite a lot of rain which has helped. Really happy with the product and will definitely use again!

Bought a box of this and my “new build ” garden had taken a bashing with the kids and dog . Had purchased. Unwrought boxes of other grass seed and didn’t have any joy . My new grass looks fabulous and I’ll definitely be buying more seeds to upkeep it through summer . Just wish I had taken before photos

I wasn’t really convinced this was going to work as our lawn was a bit of a mess, waterlogged in patches, hard in others and we’re not even a little bit green fingered. We raked patches over and chucked it on and we’re blown away with the results!! Will definitely buy again.
Did what others couldn'
Had a bald patch tried 2 different grass seeds none grew. This was my last ditch attempt before turf it had the most reviews on Amazon so gave it ago seeded late October and by mid November it had grown! Would defiantly recommend. I raked it in using B&Q’s “Verve Peat-free Beds & borders Top soil 25L” which doesn’t have the best reviews but I couldn’t find fault and definitely worked for me!
Great results and fas
This grass seed was very easy to sow. The packaging provided clear instructions on how to properly prepare the soil and sow the seeds, which made the process straightforward. I also liked that it came with a good coverage area of 84 square meters, which made it perfect for overseeding my lawn.
One of the things that stood out to me was the high germination rate of the seeds. After just a few days, I could already see the seeds starting to sprout, which was great. And after a few weeks, the grass had grown vigorously, filling in bare spots and thickening up my lawn.
The grass itself is of a premium quality, it has a lush green colour, healthy looking, and soft to the touch. It also seems to be very resilient and hardy, which is great because it’s able to withstand some wear and tear.

Really pleased with this grass seed. We have finally got rid of a bare patch that had been there two years. I raked the patch, put down seed, then covered – the evening before rain was forecast. It has grown best there, but also where I just sprinkled it over thin areas of the lawn.
I removed one star because the packaging is flimsy. Some seed had spilled out in the parcel and I now have a nice little patch growing nicely on the gravel path.

Really impressed with this grass seed. After my lively puppy had practiced his excavation skills on several areas of the lawn, I needed to carry out some repairs. This product is easy to use and I saw the first shoots of growth with 6-7 days. After a few weeks the seed was fully grown and the lawn has been restored to its previous state. I re-turfed my front lawn a few years ago, due to a hot summer and a hosepipe ban it all went patchy and died off. End of Sept I raked over the grass, sprinkled a box of this seed over and after a week it started to grown, beginning of Oct bought a second box, raked over again, sprinkled seed and left it. No top soil or watering. the rain we had and the warm weather was enough to make this seed grow, took about two weeks to fully come through, left it another week and then mowed, it was so thick it was like cutting hair! I now have a lush green lawn! Just purchased a third box to go round the edges again and to keep some spare but I’m super impressed!
Following a garden project, we had 3 tonne of good soil that we needed to get rid of, so we decided to dump it on our front lawn which had sunk a bit over the years.
We spread a box of Speedy Seed over the top and these photos are day 13 (in a British mid-Oct).
There are a few patches, but that may well have been our rubbish attempt at spreading evenly, and nothing a bit of extra seed shouldn’t fix.
Admittedly, there were NO signs of growth by day 7 and we did wonder if we had a duff box, but by day 9 we woke up to all-over fuzz. Has been strangely satisfying watching it grow since then.
Going to get another box to fill the patches and throw on the back lawn.

Good seed
I used this to cover some bare patches in my lawn, and it’s done that very well, if not perfectly. I saw signs of growth after 10 days, making sure that the areas were watered if it didn’t rain. Today, three weeks after seeding the lawn was mown, and the overall appearance is good. We had a decent mix of sunshine and showers over those three weeks, which obviously helped. Some of the better grass seed I’ve tried.
It works
It worked like this, I cut my grass 3 weeks ago, sprinkled the seed in one bald patch, raked and lightly covered in compost and it rained. 2 weeks later I cut the new grass. Perfect. When I cut the grass I sprinkled seed on another bald patch and covered lightly in the grass cuttings as had no compost, the seeds are sprouting there too now. Pics are both from today, 1 is where I planted this seed 1 week ago and covered with grass cuttings and the other is where I planted new seed 3 weeks ago and cut 1 week ago. It probably helped a lot that it has rained every day for the last 3 weeks and has been warm but cannot fault the efficiency of this produc
Reliable growth
I used to this product to re seed a soil patch. The seed took well and a substantial amount had germinated, however there were patches it hadn’t. I used a mixture of top soil, compost and small amount of sand over the area so you would expect even coverage.
BEST LAWN SEED
Totally reliable, producing strong growth within 10 days. Just water daily. Pigeons love it too so protect with light covering of top soil.
It grows...
The seeds took about 10 days to germinate(grow) although the conditions were not ideal(often cool) in the perfect conditions it would probably take 5-8 days to see first shoots(warm- above 55F)……if using the seeds to repair small patches then I would make sure they were lightly covered with soil and the ground underneath free from dead grass, in dry conditions water the area lightly for the first five days once a day. The box(1.4Kg) would not cover 84m2 more realistically about 70m2 which is ok given some of the contents will be chaff(around 10%) which is usual for this type of product. Overall the grass quality is good, although you can find cheaper alternatives if you buy a larger quantity. Its grass seed and it grows so I give it 4 stars.
Grass seeds
I bought these seeds about 3/4 weeks ago. The instructions are totally wrong on them. If you are wanting to fill in spots on your garden due to dog pee and maybe just bad weather here’s what I did.
First of all if you have spots in the garden , get a small had shovel or spade and turn over the mud. Make sure you break up any big blocks of mud.
Second once it’s been turned over. Get some top soil for planting and spread it on the spots then begin to turn over to allow nutrients to flow. Then spread a fine covering of seeds over the spots then turn over the soil gently.
Third once this process has been done. Spread a thin layer of seeds onto the spots then cover with a fine layer of top soil.
Finally spread another thin layer on the patches. Then they’ll need watering 2 times a day if in direct sun light. Either use “mist” setting on hose pipe or the “shower” setting. Don’t spray direct as to much can kill the seeds. Do this process for around 1/2 weeks and you’ll see results. If you have some netting place that down to stop birds pecking it. But if you don’t the birds will peck the top part of seeds but remember you have the seeds underneath the soil.
I found out that raking the soil is only designed and instructed to do so if you have had a garden re done and had fresh soil put down. Hope this review helps. They do work but you got to be on top with it 🙂
