I’ve got a robovac that does the vast majority of my house, but there are always bits where that can’t reach (stairs are the obvious point, as well as all the small crevices in the skirting board and nooks and crannies – as well as the car).
I was initially put onto this hoover by my Nan who had one and raved about it – whilst I raved about my robo hoover (sad lives we live I know!). After I lent her my robo hoover she was convinced and I bought her one, and after she lent me this Gtech I was also convinced and bought one!!
This is not a replacement for a full sized hoover – I’d say this is complimentary. It does all the little things you don’t want to get a big hoover out for – or in my case the things a robo hoover can’t do.
This is great for the stairs with the powered attachment, I mean absolutely fantastic! We have two sets of stairs in my house (3 floors) and this managed both sets with the powered attachment and also with the crevice tool to really get into the nooks – with battery to spare to clean our mid sized SUV – which it got 3/4″ of the way round before the battery ran out.
The battery lasts for roughly 20 minutes (on a four hour charge), which may seem not a lot of time for the amount it took to charge, but as I said, you won’t be hoovering the entire house with this – you’ll be doing the odd bit of hoovering here and there, and using it for the stairs and the like.
You need to be careful where you pull when you change attachments, as in the instruction manual it tells you to hold by the handle and pull the entire suction head off – I’m not the strongest guy, but I managed to pull so hard it pulled the led light section and electric powered section clean off – pulling out the wires in the process.
Luckily I’m quite handy and was able to take 3 screws out (2 under the dust cartridge) and one underneath the power button (this now has a small crack in it as I had to prise it out). But I was able to reattach the wires and it’s working perfectly fine again!
Luckily if I couldn’t fix it – a replacement body (basically everything except the powered head, tools, dust cartridge & battery) runs quite cheaply and is only roughly 40 to replace.
There is no ‘charging base’ just a cable you plug into the battery (which can be charged whilst in the hoover or separately on its own). This is a plus point or a negative depending on how you look at it – I quite like the fact there is no base and you can charge it easily without having to find another space for something to be out permanently.
As the battery is removable – if you want to extend the life of your hoover between the 4 hour charge, you can obviously buy a second (or third) battery that is all ready charged waiting for use, whilst you charge the original one.
This comes with a decent number of attachments, but if you have a 3D printer (or know someone who has one) there are a multitude of extra nozzles that can be made for even more specific uses.
One slightly bad point, the included cartridge filters are a bit weird smelling.
Also – included in the box is a 50% voucher for the car kit, so worth waiting to get this and then get the car kit at a later date – saving some money!
Even with the slight issue whereby my superior strength broke mine (easy-ish fix though – or cheapish replacement part) and the weird smell – I would definitely recommend this cordless battery powered hoover as a companion to either a regular plug in hoover or a robovac!!
Wish I’d bought one years ago! Great for cleaning the stairs with the rotary tool which really gets deep into the carpet fibres. The battery life last long enough to hoover the whole of our estate car, including the boot – and I also started on the next car before the power ran out. Pretty impressive.
Highly recommended, just the ticket for the stairs and hard to reach cobwebs
Removing the dust bin is a little fiddly but other than that it is an excellent cleane
Bought this as I’m fed up lugging the Hoover around when I just want a quick tidy.. This is perfect, and really useful for tricky to reach corners.

My husband is pleased with it for cleaning car etc but I find it a bit heavy. It picks up well and does the job its supposed too.
I have had alot of handheld vacuum cleaners and this is by far the best one, it is excellent, it stays charged for a very long time and it’s very powerful, very pleased with it and thoroughly recommend it.

Brought this item working great at first but after couple of weeks just stopped working retuned to Amazon shame but must have some fault.
Easy to use. Great for car cleaning so don’t really need the car kit. Comes with a spare filter which is a nice touch. Mainly use it for stair cleaning so the battery life is good for a few uses.

I had the original Gtech handheld and didn’t rate it much. Then I bought a Shark and hated it (constantly overheated) so thought I would take a punt on this newer handheld. Well colour me impressed! The powered head is brilliant and the charge lasts for ages. Definitely recommend.

amazing, it cleans in half the time.

what can you say about a g tech its a great handheld vacuum cleane
This machine is very versatile, especially the rotary brush attachment for upholstery and stairs. But the long nozzle is probably the most used because it has such a long reach. Battery life is excellent. We now have two, upstairs and down.
Good for cleaning carpet and simple to use on stairs. Quite heavy and a bit unbalanced but appears very robust and should last a very long time. Hard to locate charger socket on the cleaner.
Great suction power and useful attachments. Certainly the best handheld battery powered vacuum we’ve purchased. Very sturdy and easy to empty. If reaching upwards for any length of time then possibly a little on the heavy side for some people. Very satisfied with this product.

Not comfortable to hold
Detaching the waste bin and emptying was not easy. Compartment tricky to remove. In the absence of the much quoted, ‘Empties with a slide’ feature actually had to use fingers to remove all the dust and fluff.
In spite of the over secure fastening some dust ended up between the cleaner and that waste container.
Was this a Gtech Defect?
Very easy to use, particularly when it comes to emptying and cleaning it. Feels good quality. Suction power is good but could be stronger still.
I really like the conveyance of it and it really dose a good job, good suction power and tools that it come with are handy, the only negative it is a bit heavy, however I’m overall very pleased.

Very easy to use, extremely good suction, good accessories and easy to empty. Great for quick daily use, much easier than getting the vacuum out. Don’t know why I haven’t had one before!
Having bought the Air Ram a few months back and being over the moon with it (makes vacuuming a pleasure not a chore) I decided to buy the Gtech Multi Mk2.
The multi Mk2 is Air rams younger sibling. It is excellent for getting into tight spots, under and behind Furniture along carpet edges (skirting boards) and behind the TV, also good on upholstery. Suction is excellent.
Having contacted Gtech before purchasing from Amazon, I can confirm that the Extension Tube is now included in the Box and is part of the package. Overall an excellent buy and if looked after, should last ages.

This is great…..suction good and easy to use to keep my sofas dust free. I live in a flat so haven’t used it on stairs. I bought it mainly for use on soft furnishings and it the car which it is ideal for.
The gtech multi has proven to be a success when it comes to cleaning the stairs and with the extra tools my car interior has never been so clean with the suction so good,the lightweight Hoover makes life a good bit easier.
Very disappointed in this product. Bought it to compliment my GTEC air-ram (which I love). This hand held hoover is not fit for purpose. No good on stairs or in car.
Great on the stairs and edges around the rooms. It brushes the carpet well and lasts a fair amount of time before needing a recharge. Love it!
It’s good ,used on stairs and corners etc everywhere my gtec air ram upright can’t get but it is a little heavy ,could do with a flexy tool then it would be 100%
Only used once so far for 2 flights of stairs but suction is very good, hands down best battery operated handheld I have owned.
It does start to feel quite heavy after a while, but honestly, I feel like that’s quite minor. Can’t fault it thus far. Great auction and soo easy to empty.

Very good quality, as you would expect at this price. This is built to last and comes with an impressive pack of fittings, spare filter and odorisers. My only criticism is that it is fairly heavy compared with the dyson equivalent, but that is a minor gripe. Battery life is good and the rotating head is particularly good for stairs and carpets. Good value and recommended.
Love this vacuum. Bought another for a second property. We have 2 cats, this is great on sofas.

The only gripe is emptying, which is fiddly. That seems to case on most cordless vacuums, even the Dyson.
A very good Hoover for stairs and I’m waiting for the weather to get better so I can do the car, As I purchased the upright It was a little bit heavier than the upright. But well worth buying.

I brought this just for the stairs. Handy vacuum cleaner charge it up & away you go,easy as that . I find that if you vacuum often enough it makes better use of your time and effect.

We hesitated on buying one of these, but there really was no need to – it’s much better than expected.
We’ve also got one of the large g-tech vacuum which paired with this has meant our carpets are all incredibly clean and all much easier to clean – both being wireless makes it all so much easier!
A replacement for the first version. This has good improvements of: brush roller and switch that doesn’t need holding in all the time. A great product with good suction and versatility to get where bigger vacuums don’t.
StairsI’ve got 33 steps so when I got the Hand held oneone amazing only took me quarter of an hour 10 minutes all the time I’ve been using the Dyson balancing it on the steps plugged in now I’ve got a cordless machine amazingHappy days
I bought this gadget mainly to clean around our budgie cage. It is proving so versatile we are using it for all types of jobs around the house and even the car. An excellent purchase.

I only use for the car where it is ideal. Small enough to get into all the areas but with enough suction to pick up road grit etc
The real weakness is Gtech’s website. I have tried 4 or 5 times to register. I can’t even use the code CAR19 to buy the car kit on the website. The website doesnt even have a search facility. The website is a letdown for a good product, pity.
I find this easy to use on the stairs. It feels a little heavier towards the last step but a lot easier than my big vacuum.
It has exceeded expectations. Perfect for the stairs and smaller areas. The suction is great and the battery life more than we have ever needed. We did have an issue with one of the parts but contacted G Tech who responded immediately and new part received within 24 hours during a pandemic!

I bought this for the stairs & it really does the job. It is easy to use & because it is lightweight with good suction I am using it in preference to the vacuum cleaner if I can.

I think it’s fantastic and it does the jobs that I found difficult and it’s so easy to clean am so happy with it . It was worth the money thank you it helps paying a bit at a time and it didn’t break the bank
It is heavier than the Dyson, though. And bigger. So consider whether weight is an issue, and where you’re going to store it.
Would be great if it came with a bag to store the attachments, recharging cable etc.
I can’t fault this product, it’s brilliant!! I have two full flights of stairs in my house and my up right vacum cleaner (the make of which begins with a D) is bulky and heavy and has no small attachment for stairs, so cleaning the stair cases has been hard work for years. That has now completely changed, thanks to the gtech multi hand held. It is easy enough to use one handed, the brush head is the perfect size for stairs, its small enough to store in a cupboard, its got great suction power and the brush head even has a little light on it!! All those stupid little things that anoy you about vacum cleaners – Gtech have sorted them!! Its incredibly easy to get to the filter if you need to clean it. Its very easy to empty the bin. Very quick and easy to change the attachments. Easy peesey to get the brush head out if you need to replace or clean it and they have a brilliant little way of getting the hair out of the bristles. It arrives with some charge on it (not full) so you can test it out straight out of the box. AND the packaging is all recyclable!! I can not reccomend this highly enough.
Love this product. Bought it to do my stairs with as all other floors are hardwood, and it’s perfect. I have a cavalier spaniel and she sheds like there’s no tomorrow at this time of year, and this hoover picks it all up with hardly any effort. Fantastic little gadget well worth the money.

Ok to clarify I will update this review after a few weeks. I have only used it once.
First impressions were disappointing really.. the plastic looks so cheap.. feels so cheap. The picture on here shows a grey rubberised handle with different textured finishes on the unit itself. Where as you can see from my picture it’s all just cheap plastic.
The suction seems quite weak.. I mean it did the job around the skirting boards but if you hold it to your hand it feels less than impressive. This is with the crevice tool attached.
Using the roller heads again it feels under powered, it does the job but it will not impress.
Weightwise it isnt heavy, but it isn’t light. If you have dexterity issues it may become troublesome. The intended nozzle and crevice tool are wobbly.
All the dust seems to concentrate around the seal of the lid of the bucket. Actually underneath said seal. Which indicates the seal isn’t sealing that well?
The fragrances cartridges smell like burnt rubber or plastic. Far from pleasant. I won’t be using them. Although instructions say you MUST. I’m guessing just ripping the carriage off but keeping the cap in place will be fine.
I got it mainly to get into edge since the regular gtech can’t . It works in that regard it just seems like it should cost like 70 -90 not 170 at all.
This was an excellent buy and used as a gift to match a previously own vacuum cleaner. A good all rounder for stairs, curtains and around room perimeters where a normal size cleaner cannot reach. Battery doesn’t appear to hold charge for more than 25 minutes.
So I had the original model that come out but unfortunately that just stopped working last year but when the new one came out I just had to have one.
I am very happy indeed with this model and I use it in the home and in the car and it’s great and does everything it’s advertised to do and easy to handle.
I would have given this a full 5 star rating, it’s almost perfect but for two things: there needs to be a crevice tool without the brush for getting into corners and a longer extension tube would be perfect.
Absolutely love this, we use the Gtech at work and it comes with spare cleanable filters and everything you need. We’ve had this for five months now and have used it in testing circumstances, sand, dirt, spilt coffee grains you name it, it eats it up! Exactly what we needed and would thoroughly recommend 🙂
Wish I’d bought one sooner! Great suction and good for sorting out small spills and where my cat has left hair. Can get into the small spaces that my standard sized vacuum can’t… .especially with the “headlight” for small dark corners, etc. Really good for hard floors – much more efficient than large cleaner. I now prefer to use this than upright vacuum on my tiled rooms.
Dislike the fact the battery goes from 50% to 0% in a matter of seconds. Dislike the fact the brush tool falls off constantly, so I never use that particular tool. Other than that it is an OK purchase.
This little but oh so powerful vacuum cleaner has made cleaning up everyday Mess much easier. Before I’d have to get my large vacuum out but now I just grab this and it does the job. Great alternate heads too for all types of cleaning.
love this for stairs and small spills. It is heavier than expected (you’re unlikely to be waving around above your head for long) Recharge time is quite long but not really a problem

Works well, pretty good suction, however, that starts to drop with the battery which doesn’t have the longest life. In saying that, I generally use this for stairs and edges so does the house a couple of times before recharge.
Cleaned the car pretty well also so has more flexibility with use than your corded ones.
Lightweight and easy to extend for the cobwebs when they appear.

I was surprised how easy this is to use. It is light and powerful and the battery lasts longer than I would have expected between charges. I am now using it for jobs I didn’t think it would replace my large vac.

I have two cats and they are constantly sitting on my living room windowsill and my curtains get lots of hair on them. Thankfully the hand held Gtech is brilliant at removing the hair. It’s great for many jobs around the house.
Loved this cleaner, held charge well. Brilliant on stair carpet, looked like new again. Only one small snag I found is when cleaning the car wells it’s slightly too long, so you have trouble manoeuvring it. Would definitely recommend this product.
Brilliant, very handy and good battery life. Suction a little disappointing. Build quality and design faultless. Don’t bother with a Dyson… This is the one to get for value for money and ease of used 9/10.
This is a decent handheld, the suction power is of course much lower than the upright, but it means it’s safer to use on fabric surfaces as nothing clogs it. It’s still effective getting up dirt and dust, and the various attachments are useful. And the small size makes it handy for squeezing into awkward areas.
However, it loses a star as the battery life is short compared to the charging time, and the power button is very stiff – verging on painful to press to get it to respond. The grip also starts to cause discomfort if held for too long, but that might be me holding it incorrectly.
Overall though, a useful addition to household cleaning kit, and definitely glad to have purchased it.
