The Moolicious Family Board Game
HOW TO PLAY HERD MENTALITY
Herd Mentality is a board game all about blending in. It’s quick to learn and easy to play – even for groups of up to 20 people.
-
“Would you rather have robot arms or robot legs?”
THINK LIKE THE HERD
Read a question card to start the game. Your mission is to blend in with the herd, so each player must think of an answer that the majority of people will say.
-
Be one with the herd
LET CATTLE COMMENCE
Write down secretly your answer. After, everyone must reveal their answers one by one. If your answer is in the majority, you win cows (and who doesn’t love cows?!)
-
Whatever you do, don’t stand out
PINK COW OF DOOM
Beware the pink cow. If your answer is the odd one you’ll get stuck with the pink cow of doom. You can’t win until you get rid of it by giving an answer that blends in!

Easy to learn. Played with age range from 5 – 83 and all enjoyed!
Excellent Christmas pressie for all the family to enjoy. A little expensive and the fence was a bit flimsy but overall good game.
Thoroughly enjoyed by the whole family at Christmas. This kept everyone entertained and we played it for ages. Have since bought more of the big potato games, they are really original and engaging.
It was so easy to play, yet challenging at the same time. Trying to read everyone’s minds even when you know the people you’re playing with is really funny and makes you understand the group either better or worse, hard to tell!
Easy to learn – takes minutes and yet loads of fun for all ages.
Perfect family game.
Brilliant game to play with the whole family from young to old. Easy to read instructions, minimal time set up, just good old family fun.
Used phones as whiteboards and had a great time passing around the cow
I buy a new game every Christmas for us play & we loved this. The fact all ages and up to 20 people can play was fantastic for our big family. Buy it, you won’t regret it.
All the family really enjoyed playing this over Christmas (aged 10 – 75). Anyone can play as there is no ‘right’ answer to the questions, and there is a good number of questions to go through.
This game is really entertaining for adults and kids. Rules are really easy. We had an 8 year old and a 9 year play with us independently. It is suitable for younger children, they had no issues understanding the prompts.
Played over Xmas and new year , young adults to senior adults, all found it great fun to join in. Simple rules , time limited , great laughs . The old adage always applies , keep it simple !!
Versatile game as you have to think like everyone else playing . Great fun and mooing at players when they haven’t written an answer makes it even funnier as they can’t concentrate.
We love our board games and this one was the biggest hit at Christmas with three generations! Kids loved it, my wife and I loved it and my parents loved it.
So easy to play and so very random! I would 100% recommend this to anyone looking for a fun game for the whole family where all you need to do is answer a simple Would you rather type question.
Brilliant.
This was a really fun game to play, trying to argue with the people about who the chameleon is was really good fun. I would say it was a tad expensive for what it is but the replay-ability if it does make it worth the money
Would highly recommend for small gatherings of 5-7 players
Highly recommend this game for family gaming time, easy to learn and so much fun, a must have to add to your gaming collection, lots of cross debating when searching for the Chameleo
Played this game with my three children, aged 19, 17 and 12. It was absolutely hilarious. Highly recommended and interesting how family members think alike or differently with their answers. Definitely value for money.
Bought for Xmas family time and was absolutely brilliant! The hilarity and weird conversations/justifications that came out during the game had us in stitches. It’s a bit like blankety blank – answer a question with the most likely answer. However some are choices such as “would you rather have toes for fingers or fingers for toes?” and these ones lead to lively discussions about the ‘right’ answer. Of course the only right answer is the one the majority have written down. Highly recommend
Since given on Christmas Day we have had so many games played. Really great fun.
Played this on Christmas day. We were a family group of nine people. Ages 10 to adults. We loved it and had a great laugh. It caused good natured arguments/debates as to what the most popular answer should be for each question. The rules are super easy. Would highly recommend.
I initially gave this game a 3 star review as the seal had been broken. However, after having played it over Christmas with a family aged from 10 to over 80, I had to change my rating. It is really easy to play and lots of fun. It took less than an hour for us to have a winner so we played a few rounds. It generates fun discussion and was enjoyed by all – really pleased.
Excellent fun quick firing round game for all ages, great to play during christmas break too
Easy game to play with the whole family.
The pads to write your answers on are too small/ we used our own paper and pens!
Great fun, a bit like Family Fortunes- guess the most popular answer- within your group of players.
This is an excellent and fun game for all the family. There are a couple of questions that little ones won’t be able to answer, but if the younger ones are playing we skip over them. Fantastic fun, I would highly recommend it to anyone.
This game is very easy to follow and is great fun and gets you thinking and is an ice breaker in groups of people! Only thing I’d say it is quite pricey as there isn’t a huge amount of equipment needed and you need to remember to bring your own pens or pencils! But took it on holiday and it was thoroughly enjoyed by us all!
Fun game – simple to learn and get going for all ages – just some questions not suitable for young which you can filter out. You need at least 4 ideally. All ages had fu
We love Chameleon! Have played it with family and friends a lot over the last few months and everyone seems to love it! Really simple to pick up but with a lot of subtlety involved as well. Highly recommended for games nights with a few drinks!
Bought this a while ago but due to lockdown haven’t been able to try it out so played for the first time this evening, between 6 of us, including a 73 year old and 8 year old (and a 4 year joining in with some questions). Really good fun and the vast majority of questions were fine for all ages, including children. Would definitely recommend!
This game is very funny and causes some brilliant family arguments!
Much funnier with adults playing as my children are terrible liars!
Brilliant game gets you thinking. Whole family loved it age range 9-83 years old everyone laughing and getting involved brilliant game!
Loads of fun for our family! Our kids aged 11 and 8 love it. We just skip any cards the 8yr old can’t join in o
Had great fun with this game. Feels quite expensive for what you actually get but worth it for the laughs/arguments we’ve had! Great to play via Zoom (or any other video sharing app)
We played this at xmas and it was brilliant fun. It takes a few goes for everyone to get the hang of it but once you get going its easy.
This is a great game. We always get a couple of new games at Christmas and Chameleon has been the biggest hit ever! Played constantly over holidays (easy to play over media apps if not together). The game is very easy to learn and doesn’t go on for ever. Easy for all age groups. Lots of fun and laughter guaranteed!
Received this at Christmas and played 4/5 times since. Turns out to be a very easy game to play with the extended family on video calls also as only one person required to read out the questions and everyone else can answer.
Good game, quick and easy to learn and can be played by all ages (we had from 4 to 70yrs) it was enjoyed by everyone but I feel it’s a little pricey for what it is.
Now one of our family favourites, so much fun to play, we’ve actually had ours a few years but definitely worth getting.
My sis in law bought this game for us to paly while in the caravan when we went away for my nephew’s birthday in Oct my nephew is 10 my daughter 11 my sis in law myself and get partner all in our 30’s and her partner’s in there 60s had a great time playing it the kids especially loved the part that said if a player was taking too long to take there turn the other players could moo at them after playing this on holiday I ordered one for us to play at home
Really fun game from the people that made Linkee which is another family favourite – they have some other great games and really reasonable prices, fun for christmas and family events
Flipping hilarious game that you can play with loads of people. We’ve only playing it with four people so far. But looking forward to playing it as a big group as I can imagine it being a little harder to all think the same. Good laugh!
Bought for a friend who says it’s a fantastic game. 4 played but you can have up to 10 players
Had a quick look and it looks fun. Haven’t played it yet as I might give it as a Christmas present.
I bought this for my Granddaughter’s 12th birthday. As soon as she opened it we had to play and we all were hooked. We have played it every time she has visited. It’s a great idea and such good fun.
The most fun we’ve had in ages. Planned to play for about half an hour and two hours later we were still going. Eleven players, loads of laughs….. I thoroughly recommend this game for family and friends of all ages and I’m sure we will be playing It again when we meet up at Christmas.
This is a really fun daily game, it’s super simple and easy to play for 10 minutes or a few hours.
This game was so much fun. We played it while on holiday and had a couple of people joining in via Zoom. It was hillarious with 6 and 8 can only imagine it’s going to be even more fun with up to 20! I love the ‘speed players up by “mooing’
Great game and great fun!
It’s an awesome game , gets you thinking and puts your bluffing skills to the test. Suitable for all the family and great for party games as you don’t even have to move from the sofa . Highly recommend!
Very good board game the more people that play the better.
What a hillarious game, worth every penny, the more people you have playing the better as it’s harder with a bigger herd.
Great buy, highly recommended by me!
The game was easy to learn and caused very funny discussions about who was the Chameleon. No other game like it, the whole family loved it.
Really enjoyed playing this as a family – easy to play and a lot of fu
Thank you Team Potato for a fun game.
Easy rules, funny questions (big eye or big ear? )
We palyed with four friends and a few drinks. Would probably be even better with a few more (friends and drinks).
Team Badge
They’ve done it again! Big potato games know how to make a great game (we own most of them!) and this is no different. Enjoyed with a mixed age range group.
Fantastic game! Hours of fun, absolutely hilarious and great for playing with family and friends.
The game is nicely designed. Simple rules to follow. A good laugh and makes you think about what others are thinking, know your audience. Will eventually benefit from more questions in an add on but you can make up your own. Only down sides, No free pencils and paper could have been double sided but easy use your own paper.
Such a fun game to play with friends! We had an awesome time and played for a good solid few hours. A good laugh and sparked some interesting conversations!
A great game that’s fun for all the family. We managed to get through all the questions provided over the course of 2 evenings but we continued to play by making up our own questions, which was just as much fun.
Great game, our friends bought one themselves after playing with us! It’s especially fun as it takes a few rounds to suss out how the “herd” is going to answer and after than you see lots of very funny and frustrating strategic plays developing! Really great party or family game as it’s about the dynamics of the group rather than the actual content of the game – although that’s pretty on point!
Fantastic game, very entertaining and not demanding. Suitable for numerous plays and for whole family.
Really fun and simple to play. You’ll learn things about your friends and family playing this game. 1 tiny wish would be more question cards as we went through them very quickly – but we were playing for a couple of hours.
We have played a LOT of games over the past few months and this has become one of our firm favourites. It has been enjoyed by many different combinations of family and friends from teenagers to grandparents. It’s the perfect combination of easy to grasp but endlessly entertaining. The best bit for us? Shouting ‘MOOO!!’ at the top of your voice to hurry up the slow coaches…
It was really fun to play and easy to get the hang off I rate it a 5 star. ( Rosie age 11)
It was an amazing and enjoyable, really fun to play. 5 stars from me ! ( Olive age 9 )
P.S Nice packaging….Moo!
We dont do board games that much but this one was good for a few hours.
Laughing out loud for hours. Easy to learn and funny as f… The best party/non party but simple boardgame I have. And I have a lot of those games.
I love this game so much! I’ve played it before with some kids that I teach and had to buy it for myself. It’s easy to learn and fun to play with the whole family.
Also great to play with friends!
we keep coming back to this – it’s one of the few non-screen-related items that can pry the boys away. easy to learn and endlessly complicated. one of the best and well worth the price
Fun game on boxing Day. Turns all family members into loud, annoying barristers (incl myself) but did cause a few laughs.
Not sure this will be a lasting game for us, but time will tell. Value for money not great for essentially a card game but I paid Xmas prices…I imagine itll settle to a reasonable price for people to have fun with it.
Such a funny game! So many laughs playing this over Christmasand New Year!! We play a lot of board games and party games and this one is our new favourite! Definitely recommend
We’ve been playing this a lot since Christmas and it is so much fun and educational too. It doesn’t take long to play so it is perfect for the youngest member of our family. A definite must have in your board games cupboard!
Our favourite family game this Christmas! Can play for 5 mins or 5 hours. Have laughed a lot – Harder than you think!
Great game. Takes a bit to get your head around how it works deciphering codes and looks complicated at first glance but it is actually easy enough. Our 11 year old loves it. Good selection of topics. Easier with more people.
Fantastic game, Santa bought it for the family and it was a great hit with everyone. I really liked how all ages could join in, we had three generations playing all having a great time. It’s a very easy game to get to grips with. The youngest player was 8 the oldest 73 both had a blast!
Brilliant game and a bit different to other games as it’s all about judgement and challenging others and an element of bluffing too. Quite pricey but worth it.
This is an unusual and different game and that’s why I love it. My family were a bit split on it though, a bit like marmite! It took us a little while to get the hang of it but I think that’s because one of us hasn’t read the instructions carefully enough! Easy to play and great for bringing people together. It could be played by teenagers too so good for getting everyone involved. I think the more u play the better it would get!
At first look the instructions seemed complicated but once you start playing it’s actually very simple. We laughed until we cried and played for hours. I’d definitely recommend this game.
We enjoyed playing this game after our Christmas lunch. Must have played for about an hour or so. Easy to pick up and we got to be ‘experts ‘pretty quickly. Will be taking for all our group holidays in the future.
Good, played at Christmas and was easy to learn and enjoyable to play. Can play individually or in teams, and is suitable for adults and older children/teens.
Excellent and entertaining game And very easy to learn , I have 5 children from the age 16 to 8 and they with their cousins loved it , got it on lightening deal so thought I’d risk it And what a great risk!
They also love games like skyjo, bananagrams, dixit, monopoly deal, dobble ,you’ve got crabs, exploding kittens and more ,(fast short games). I have loads of games but the ones mentioned are deffo the non regret games.
I dont think you would regret buying this game and deffo better for the whole family to socialise rather than your kids just hooked on to iPads n phones!
Try it!
I played this at a friends house with their 7 children and it was so much fun! I’m looking forward to playing my own game with friends over Christmas holidays.
This box came beautifully packaged, so well not a mark or dent on the box containing the game.
I look forward to checking out the Big Potato video instructions
we bought this on a recommendation and we were not disappointed! this was taken with us for a weekend away with a group of friends…once we got in the swing of the game it was completely addictive! absolutely hilarious, hard to stop doing more rounds, I’m pretty sure everyone who played will be buying their own set. 100% recommended for a fun filled night with friends.
Cracking game. We’d seen a few games on a YouTube channel and thought it looked fun. Not disappointed with the purchase. Easy to learn, quite challenging to play (unless you’re an evil genius). We love it. Would highly recommend and will be bringing it with us everywhere to introduce new people to it. 🙂
Great game quick and easy to play.
All ages enjoyed. You will have to work on your bluffing face though!
Saw a Youtuber play this and knew I had to get it. It’s similar to the game Codenames, and is very easy to learn. My only complaint would be that the sticker to seal the box together was too sticky and I damaged my box a little bit trying to get it off.
We love it and it has us in stitches playing with nana in her 70s and 15, 12 and 10 year old. Quick and easy games with lots of fast fun and not too much thinking or seriousness. 12 year old got a pile of Big Potato games for her birthday and loves them.
A bit different and very entertaining, tho I am rubbish at this and get found out every time! Suitable for a mix of ages and very funny, especially if people have had a little wine/are generally confused as it makes for a very difficult game to spot who is the chameleon. If you like family board games and are fed up with the usual then give this a go, it is our new favourite game. :0)
Simple to learn and lots of fun. As you play, you develop tactics and it gets more lively and interesting. Definitely one for family get-togethers with mixed ages. We played with a group from age 6 to 60+. You do really need 4 or more people to play so I don’t think we’ll get regular weekend use out of this with our small family, but it was enjoyed by all over Christmas.
Easy enough to play with no real snake type downside. Its a bit of a bluff if you go first and you get the Chameleon, as you get no clues from the other players, but a bit of a gamble and a nod and a wink and you might just get through.
Have played this a few times at dinner parties with groups of 4-6. Everyone really enjoyed it. It’s great to have a game where everyone is playing at the same time, rather than one person having a turn and everyone waiting.
I hate being the chameleon though, turns out I am a rubbish liar.
Played for ages with my 13 and 15 yr old kids and we had a great time. I was a little unsure when I bought it but it is great. The wipe clean grid for your own suggestions was particularly enjoyed. If your looking for a family game for tech obsessed teens you have found it. I highly recommend it.
This is a Xmas present and was recommended to us as we love board games. Other games by Big Potato have been great fun so I’m sure we will not be disappointed. Love being a part of the Big potato club!
Bought this for Christmas with family. Once we got the hang of the card system, it was really fun and revealed the sneaky among us…people’s lying tactics had us in fits of laughter. I’ve also played this with kids aged between 8 and 12 and they loved it. They were better chameleons than the adults, really enjoying having a go at telling fibs! A really good game.
Game came on time and well packaged. I cannot review the game as it is a present for our daughter but since she wanted it and knowing that she likes good games, I can only assume it will be fun at Xmas.
I am writing the review but this is a Christmas present, so until then I won’t know just how good this game is!!
I see it was voted best game 2017 which is why I chose it
The deadline will have passed if I wait until then to write a review
Excellent game, fun for all the family. If you have youn children (10ish), some cards may be more difficult for them to understand the words, but there is plenty that they can do, and plenty of life in one card alone. Cards can range from fairy tales, films and countries etc
This is a brilliant family game. Simple concept which children can join in with but younger ones would really need to grasp the subterfuge involved in playing as or finding the chameleon to get involved. Our 8yo had no problems and loves the game.
The Game can easily be played with small groups of three or more, and even large groups of 16 if you paired up. The topics make for both funny and tense rounds every time with the words people choose, even if you don’t quite understand the game yet. Also the addition of a make your own topic card adds a great personal touch to the game making it adaptable to new topics outside of the ones you receive as part of the game
I absolutely love this game and played it for the first time with 3 (30-something) friends. Great for weekday evenings with dinner and wine, and I think you could probably play it with teenagers too.
Nice game, very simple to learn but difficult to play well. the balance between giving a word that indicates you are not the chameleon and yet is broad enough not to give away the answer to the chameleon is the key to good play.
We found it much better with more players. When we played with 4 it was much easier to find the chameleon than when playing with 7.
It’s great. We started playing with someone reading instructions as we played because it seems complicated but after 2 rounds we were well into it!
Bought as a gift – want one for myself
When we read the instructions it seemed a bit complicated but as soon as we started playing, everything fell into place. Pretty cool game! We’ve only played it once so far but I’m sure we’ll be back for more.
Addictive! Once we got the hang of it, we kept playing again and again – its gets very competitive, highly recommend it!
