Love this can’t wait to jump in to a lovely warm/ hot bed. Perfect as each side is set separately I like it hot, hubby warm!
Fitted on the mattress easily and doesn’t wander or crease in the middle. All good!
    Worth every penny

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersDue to my age I need an electric blanket on the bed. I had had a few over the years and they have had temp control but not like this one. Also the previous blankets never really warmed up the feet.
This blanket however changes all that. It has a separate control for the body and a separate control for the feet, don’t worry though they are right next to each other and very simple to use. 1-9 with 9 being the hottest (and that is pretty hot). Then right alongside those buttons is the timer. 1-10 hours which is an absolute godsend because i do sometime doze off with the blanket still on. wake up in the night roasting.
So the timer sorts that out for me. The connection to the blanket is very well hidden and generally you don’t feel it when lying next to it. By the way, someone said the light was too bright, not sure what they are talking about, the LED readout is in blue and it goes off shortly after you have set it, so no problem.
I wouldn’t recommend something costing 100+ if it wasn’t worth it, but this really is value for money

I have Ankylosing Spondyloarthritis so to get into a lovely warm bed is heaven for me, to be cradled by the heat works wonders to help relax me as I often ache all over…the best thing about this purchase is the dual controls & timer I can have my torso on 7/8 (where majority of pain is) and feet 3/4…you can set timer from 1-9hours….perfect!! My husband is happy chappy too he has lower part warmer to help with his knees – win win in our house (bed)

    A great electric blanket but:
The controls are wired the wrong way up so you have to rotate it to see it the correct way round.
The light is very bright at night – better if it adjusted according to the light around

Pity there aren’t separate timers for the upper and lower sections.

Pity it doesn’t remember the settings from the previous night.

Other than these relatively minor points, it’s very good (and expensive)

We bought a king sized blanket to fit our bed and it is very good. It heats up quickly and has an excellent range of heat control and it fits the whole mattress. There are no strings to feed under the bed and it stays put . It makes the bed even more comfortable. We only need the heat on in the coldest nights. It will be very easy to take off for washing in the summer.
It is a big improvement on our one one so I would definitely recommend it.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersIt is warm and a lot cheaper to run than the gas radiators!
I like that you can have the temp different for the feet and the body.
Also your partner can control the heat on their side independently from yours or switch it off completely.
The settings are from 1-9 with 9 being very hot. I’ve found that if I have the feet on 2 and body on 0, I can fall asleep.
The faux sheepskin is ok but I cover it with the sheets. My bed frame is one with wooden slats so the cords from the blanket fit underneath quite well still allowing me to tuck the sheets in. I was worried that it would slip and slide around because I trash around a lot when but it’s fine. It’s comfortable.
The remote is very basic which I like because I didn’t have to work anything out. It switches off after It is warm and a lot cheaper to run than the gas radiators!

This is fabulous! Never had a heated blanket before I am honestly amazed, how have I lived this long without one? The dual control is an absolute must if there is two of you in the bed. Hubby doesn’t feel the cold as much as me so mostly dips his freezing feet into my half of the bed rather than switch his half on. It warms up in about 15 minutes and reaches super hot in 30. The dial is 1-9 heat, I start off with 9 for first half hour or so then lower it down to 3 or 4 as it’s ridiculously hot You can have it on upper or lower body or both. The timer is great too. It’s bliss to know I can come up to a lovely warm bed. I looked at lots of reviews before purchasing as I wasn’t sure what I needed. I’m chuffed to bits with this! Well worth every penny

First time I have bought an electric blanket during the recent freezing cold spell.
Just fantastic result the product works and provides a lovely warm bed to look forward to at the end of the day not a freezing cold bed that takes ages to warm once you have slipped in shaking in cold .I thoroughly recommend this make , takes 15 mins to thoroughly warm the bed and its well made with a nice finish and works a treat. Best money I have spent in years.

This was our first time trying an electric blanket, at first I felt quite scared, I just kept thinking I hope it’s not dangerous. This winter has been very cold so I thought that I may as well give it a try. The blanket fitted the bed really well on the top but as we have an Emma mattress which is quite deep, I wasn’t sure if the elastic bit would fit around it but it did as the size was very generous. I turned it on to the maximum setting on the top and the bottom and my husband did the same 9/9 and waited for about 15 minutes. At first, we were disappointed we both agreed that if this was as hot as it got what was the point? but then after around 30 minutes, and being the toastiest we have been in years we were desperately turning it down! We love it. It feels like one of the best-kept secrets, where had this been all our lives????

I even called my mum to complain that she hadn’t told me about it sooner!

It takes about 30 minutes to warm the bed, however, with frequent use it seems to take quicker now to warm up the bed. You will enjoy it. You honestly don’t need the radiator on with this. It just makes the whole room warm. I 100 per cent recommend it.

YOU WILL NEVER REGRET IT, We wont be going back to a cold bed….

I live this. We have turned heating down upstairs to reduce fuel bills. But I love a warm bed. My partner prefers slightly cooler. Love the independent controls on each side on this. The timer is great too. Drift off and know the blanket will sort itself out. Feel lovely too. Great fit. We have king size and this is generous.
Some people have mentioned the clunky control unit. Yeah it is a little. It’s quite load and you do have to go from low to high (1-9) to change temp rather than being able to go backwards. But it’s no big deal. And if you partner is that sensitive a sleeper that it wakes them you have bigger issues frankly. Live my cosy blanket.
Top tip. If you forget to warm the bed before you get in ( I usually do 20 mins before bed) switch it to full heat (#9) . It heats quickly. Then turn it down to you desired temp when you get in bed. Unless you want to to roast your chestnuts !!

Nice fitted blanket. The socket to blanket is flat and slightly higher than others so doesn’t dig into shoulder. Couple of slight issues, the controller does not stay eliminated so that in the dark you don’t know it’s on without putting the light on and my glass on to check however if you have the one hour timer on it will switch off automatically. My previous blanket had a fast heat which took 10 minutes to heat up this blanket needs the one hour to reach a warm temperature. Overall a good electric blanket.

This is the first time we have ever used an electric blanket, so was a little apprehensive. But I am so pleased I chose the Homefront dual control one, it is absolutely brilliant in every way.Wish I’d bought one years ago! I particularly needed a dual control as I feel the cold more than my husband and therefore need my side to be warmer.I researched several makes but liked this one as it has 9 heat settings and a 9 hr timer.I am actually looking forward to the icy nights to come because I know I’ll be toasty warm! It also means we do not need the central heating on for so long which was another factor in my choice now energy is so expensive.I highly recommend this product.

This is a replacement for a Homefront heated blanket purchased 6 years ago. Unlike the old blanket who’s controllers showed the settings all the time, the new model only displays for around 5 seconds. This is extremely inconvenient when checking the settings, especially when in bed. So it isn’t possible to monitor the control settings as the display will only light, if one of the buttons is pressed, (which can alter a previously desired setting.) We definitely won’t be buying again unless this inconvenient feature is replaced.

What I wanted was a good electric blanket – and this is a very good one! Fleece covered, it heats independently in 4 panels, 2 top and 2 bottom so if your uppers need to be warmer than your lowers you can adjust accordingly and selfishly tailor the warmth to your side, and your partner’s can be selfishly tailored to theirs. Separate timers are good, easy to use and give lots of flexibility for either side. Buy one and stay warm if you wish because you can leave them on a low setting whilst you are sleeping. Read the instructions for setting for overnight.

Perhaps it’s too early to say but this is a great blanket. All the different temperatures are wasted on me though, I turn it on for 10min before bedtime and turn it off again when I go to bed. I wake up so cozy in the morning I’d swear it’s been on all night. It’s just the right size too, it doesn’t fall short of the bed like other blankets and the plastic electrical box attached is not nearly as big, or as intrusive as my last blanket. It’s a bit more expensive I suppose but it also gets a lot more 5 start reviews. I’m well chuffed with it.

I thought my last electric blanket from Homefront was great but this one is far better. Once I had mastered the heat control it was easy. The heat distribution is much better, less cold area at the top. My one doubt is that for people like my husband, who has Alzheimers, they might not be able to work the controls. No problem, he has the simple version which he and the cat love!

  35. Anonymous says:

Under the guise of “environment” no light on the control when on. Given that it is dual control there is a good chance that at some time 1 person will go to bed after the other and not know if the blanket is on in the dark -or even where the control is.
Then the control does not stay set but reverts to the maximum 9:9 heat and on for one hour, so every day you have to reset it.
Minor design details that should never have been allowed.

excellent product. The fitted blanket ensure the blanket doesn’t move around and the ability to have different temperatures for the body and the feet is wonderful. My feet need more warmth than my wife’s feet and visa versa on the body heat, so effectively we can have two individual settings. Marital bliss.

Bought this for a king size bed. Good skirt fits well under mattress. Very comfy. The only drawback is it was dual controls, did not think about this when I bought it. I only have one plug near the bed. We do have a holiday home and going to take it there where it will be very useful i the winter and plugs at both sides of bed. Have ordered another blanket with single control. The mistake was mine so cannot fault the item. It was delivered in the stated time. Very comfy. Good value. Useful if two people want different temperatures. Looking forward to using it at holiday home.

This new Homefront one warns up in around 5 minutes and does the job, it was easy to fit and has simple controls. It seems as good as my previous Dreamland ones at a fraction of the price. Obviously I cannot comment on reliability at this stage.

I like the speed it warms up. The ability to set feet temperature separately from body. One thing that would improve the function would be to have the time duration return to the last setting when switching on for the next time instead of having to click the button for that function as the buttons are loud and having the click it in while someone is asleep does sometimes wake them up. Either that or make the buttons silent both ways would work

Honestly I searched through loads of electric blankets after making a bad buy the first time around.

I must say after reading some of the reviews it takes a while to hear up and is not too hot are a joke.

I blasted mine the first night on for a few hours and when I got in bed it was like a tropical paradise.

Now only stick on 15 minutes before bedtime.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAfter lots of research this seemed to tick all the boxes.
Never again will I buy just a flat sheet style blanket- they never go right up to the edges and move during the night. But this is perfect. The generous extra deep elasticated skirt keeps it in place and anchored down and the warm area fully reaches the sides and bottom.
I love the numerous options of Heat, area and timer. Being dual controlled is the icing on the cake. My partner is usually hot in bed and said he would never use his side however these last weeks when it’s been so cold at night he has been popping his side on for 10 minutes just before bedtime on the feet area only and he adores having cozy warm feet. He is a convert!
The thick fleece covering means you can not feel the individual wires across the bed and the two main electric cables are positioned right at the very edge so do not impact sleep at all.
    Highly recommended and well
Worth paying that bit extra for all the added plusses mentioned. A fabulous comfy purchase.

Whilst I really like the blanket. I find that it takes ages to warm up and I need to use it on the highest setting 9 as I tend to feel quite cold. For some the lower settings may be fine but anything below 7 is almost non existent. BUT don’t be discouraged it is still a good blanket and once you get over the timing issue it does it’s job.

I have had a silent night electric blanket for years, its always been uncomfortable due to the wire placement. This new blanket is so comfortable even without the heated element because it is fleecy so it feels like a luxurious mattress topper. Easy to use controls.. it has a deep skirt so it fits any mattress, mine is very deep, it fits beautifully and doesn’t come off. I would recommend, I am so glad I bought it plus its a damn sight cheaper than the more well known brands.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI spent more than I wanted to on this but in hindsight it was worth it. My Brazilian wife suffers from the cold here in Ireland so I got this just before the Christmas. She always said she didn’t want one, thought it was a silly idea. The first time I turned it on and she slipped into the bed…..well…you should have seen the smile.

The fact that this treats the bed as 2 zones was something I wanted as I prefer to get into a cold bed.

The timer and overheat functions were no-brainers from a safety perspective.

All in all, a great product and I’m very happy to say my wife recommends it highly!

The feet function is GREAT. It was the main reason I bought this particular blanket.
The blanket fits the bed really well as it has a skirt (and a generous one at that) rather than straps.
The controls are easy and clear to use and go off quickly so you’re not stuck with a bright light in your bedroom.
It’s extra great because it means we can keep a thin covering now, which makes my partner happy as he is a hot sleeper, and I can be kept toasty warm by this!

Edit: I’ve been using this for nearly a month now and absolutely love it. The nights when I use it, I noticeably sleep better, waking up fewer times throughout the night. I can’t sing it’s praises highly enough.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersAt 66 I finally caved in to my wife’s requests and bought an electric blanket. It fits my king size bed perfectly and the skirt ensures that it stays in place. I didn’t intend to use my side but I thought it would save me having to get her hot water bottles or suffer her cold feet on my body. I’m ashamed to say that on the first night we had it I turned my side on, too… just to make sure it was working properly. It’s been on every night since and I’m loving it! The controls are a bit old tech but the display is big enough to read without my specs and it’s VERY simple to use. I like the fact that I can heat body or feet or both and there are 9 levels of heat and a timer that is basic but effective. I turn it on about 15 minutes before we get into bed and then it’s ready and waiting. N.B. If you try to test it without covering it with a duvet don’t expect much. I can only assume that’s what happened with reviewers who complained about slow warm up. When it’s covered the heat is trapped and builds up quickly. I’m definitely happy with my purchase.

I purchased this to replace our old heated blanket. The skirt around the sides of this got my interest as i was fed up of having to move the existing blanket back into place. This one stays in the right place. My Husband moves around a lot and the last blanket moved with him. This one stays put. This new blanket is so snuggly and warm. You can feel the softness through the bottom sheet. It definately keeps you warm in the right places and covers the whole of the mattress-from the head to the feet. There are no cold spots.
We are really glad that we bought this heated blanket. I only put it on for 2 hours and it keeps me warm all night. A thoroughly good buy.

Had this since beginning of November 18. Fitted well on a very deep mattress. Had to get a trailing extension as each side plugs in separately. We have a mattress protector on top and don’t feel any wires etc. I don’t think you would anyway due to the thick fleecy covering..

Heats up reasonably quickly. Our first such blanket. My wife’s purchase. I was sceptical but its a nice luxury when you come up on those cold nights. Different settings for feet and body a good idea. Control works well enough. Looks a bit cheap.. Unplugging control from blanket quite tricky as it has a connector which locks on (you need 3 hands). Means it won’t pull out accidentally however.

Only downside so far is that the connector is right where my elbow is as i sit propped up in bed writing this and its a big hard edged box. Usually ok when actually sleeping. Turning the mattress is also now going to be more of a faff, but would be with any blanket like this.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersMy old electric blanket had three settings, barely on, fry yourself, and fry an egg. I love a cold room and a warm bed, but didn’t get much sleep turning my old one on and off. It was also like sleeping on a mesh of wires. It finally died and I decided to try this one. So far it is fantastic!
The fleecy cover is so soft under the fitted sheet, almost like a mattress topper. I don’t feel any of the wiring. The ability to adjust different zones temperature is genius. My feet always tend to get cold as most blankets focus on the middle. It heats quickly so I can hop in a warm bed and then turn it down for a wonderful night’s sleep
The timer is great, I never have to worry about leaving it on all day like the old one, and it’s perfect for when the heating comes on in the morning the blanket has gone off.
I love it, everything I want in an electric blanke

  54. PansyHoadfjn says:

The blanket comes with a kind of skirt attached which will secure under your mattress and keep the blanket in place (even if you toss and turn like a fighting Tasmanian Devil) then you add your sheet on top of the blanket and add your quilt or sheets on top and you are ready to go, don’t forget to plug it in. The box and instructions say it can be washed but we have yet to try that out, more feedback once we do.
There are two separate controls, one for each side of the bed. Each control allows you to heat your body and feet to different levels, from 1 to 9. You can also set the timer for how many hours you want, or all night, not to worry it turns itself off automatically and has loads of safety features to avoid you getting poached in your sleep!
The separate controls for each side of the bed is a stroke of pure genius, for us we have different heat requirements and so the separate controls solve that problem with ease.
The best part is about half an hour or so before you plan on going to bed, turn on the heared blanket (it will remember your personal settings which is so very useful) and when you finally slide into bed, your bed will be toasty and warm and just EXACTLY how warm YOU want it to be.
The reason it does not get five stars is that, the place where the controls plug in are right on the edge of the bed, and if you sleep on the edge (like I do) you will feel the connector through your sheet. It’s not a deal breaker but it is a little annoying but nowhere near as annoying as getting into a cold bed.

I WHOLEHEARTEDLY recommend this product to anybody who likes a nice, warm bed.

Came with neat packaging in see through bag so that it may be stored, if needed, over summer. I think I should have bought the next size up from King size but it still fitted the bed thanks to the elasticated skirt around it which secured the blanket to the bed very well. I plugged it in although, as I had read about the uncomfortable positioning of the unit at the top of the blanket, I had hoped to have this unit at the bottom of the bed however, the instructions advised against this. The unit does fit neatly into a pocket but it’s located about a pillow’s depth down which means it can be felt when lying down, if you tend to sleep towards the edge of the bed. Not yet figured out how to change the time from hours to minutes, if anyone can help with that. The fleece feels nice and I practised by setting it for one hour on 9 and 9 (top and bottom) It wasn’t red hot (thankfully I suppose) but cosy. I now feel we’re ready for the forecasted cold weather.

I purchased this electric blanket after my previous one had stopped working on one side.
The old was a WOOL fleece heated underbanket. I bought this one as an affordable alternative.
The heating of the feet separately from the body is fantastic as i want the feet on low all night. I am really happy with the functions of this electric blanket.

The two downsides are that the blanket buckles on the mattress as the “skirt” doesn’t hold it firmly enough onto the mattress and
For me, personally the synthetic fleece makes my partner and I sweat even when the blanket is switched off.
I cannot return this blanket as has been used for a month now and will giving to a friend. I will find something that is made of a fabric that breathes a little.
Four stars is only because of acrylic fleece, otherwise a good electric blanket.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersFits my Ikea European King Size mattress fine. The generous elastic skirt has plenty of excess to fit the slightly larger European mattress size. Works well. My only complaint is it doesn’t remember the settings between uses. It always defaults to max heat for 1 hour. This means you could use a timer plug to pre heat but when you get into bed you’ll need to turn it down to your desired setting. Otherwise it’s great.

You can see my picture to get an idea how well it fits on my Ikea European King Size mattress.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersOrdered one for a couple reasons, 1 is I get very cold very quickly where my husband doesn’t (so I can’t have the heating on!) and 2 because my husband has a hip and back problem. It’s great that we have individual controls so I can be as warm as I want for as long as I want without effecting my husband. It’s even better that you can control body and foot spaces separately with different heats and amazing that it has a timer! So you can put it on for a couple hours and it automatically turns off. My hubby uses it to relax his muscles and it’s made the world of difference so far. So easy to install and because it’s a fitted sheet it doesn’t slide about under your sheets. Can’t comment on the ease of cleaning just yet but definitely recommend it so far.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersArrived promptly, well packaged and as described. The fitted valance fits our king size bed perfectly and the soft fleece topping provides a luxurious feel. Much better than our previous blanket which was secured to the mattress with ties. The blanket comes with an instruction manual to help the less technical amongst us deal with the heating “zones” but the control units are well designed, easy to use and is quite obvious what setting has been chosen. The power connections to the blanket are not intrusive when sleeping. Blanket heats up quickly and has 9 heat settings and 9 timer settings (1 – 9 Hours). Certainly the best electric blanket we’ve ever had. Very pleased….

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersBought this for my husband and my son they both love it. Its easy to set up and fits the bed perfectly. it’s great how there are individual controls and you can set two temperatures one for your feet, the other for your body. There are 9 settings. We find 4 to be the most comfortable setting and put the timer on about 15/30 minutes before bed. We have it on for approximately 30 mins to an hour. It is machine washable. The controls/wires are no problem as you cannot feel them. Efficient delivery/service. Overall great buy!!

Love this blanket. Should have bought one years ago. The best thing about it is that you can alter each side to fit the individual. My husband gets hot feet so needs no heat at all on the lower part, he does however like a bit of warmth for his body. I however love to get my feet toasty and enjoy a warmer setting for both body and feet. This is a great blanket and works brilliantly for those who have different needs. Been using it for around 4 weeks now and we both love it, I had a feeling I would but am super surprised that my husband now complains if it’s not on getting the bed warm!

    Great item, highly recommend.

Seems excellent so far. Comfortable, easy to fit to mattress and covers bed very well with heat (and so it ought for the price, this is what one would expect).
One criticism: The settings have to be renewed each night because the controller has been switched off. Easily repeatable settings would be more convenient.

Golden Review Award: 17 From Our UsersI bought this electric under blanket after my Dreamland Intelliheat failed. The Dreamland was such a good blanket that it was with some trepidation I ordered the Homefront blanket, but I thought that if it wasn’t as good as my old one then I could always return it. When I first turned it on, I was underwhelmed by how cool the bed seemed but as I left it on and it got time for bed I was pleasantly surprised by how warm the bed was. I am impressed with the variety of heat settings (9) and the fact that you can have the lower half at a different temperature to the top half and of course different heat settings and timings for each side of the blanket.

We replaced an older electric blanket this one fully covers our king size bed, fits well around the mattress and provides excellent comfort. Regarding the heating, I have yet to work out how to use the controls. Our old blanket was set each morning and an exterior timer switch allowed the blanket to come on about an hour before going to bed. This blanket appears to revert to settings 9,9 and one hour timer once it switches off. The 9 setting is too hot so I shall probably set the external timer to say 15mins before bed at 9 settings.

Golden Review Award: 24 From Our UsersWe love this so much we just bought another for the guest bedroom and have also purchased for Mum, sister and mother-in-law. My husband says its the best present I ever got him, as he loves a warm bed. The best bit about it is that I don’t like a very warm bed, so I can set my side of the bed on low settings and he can set his hot enough to roast a turkey. The separate foot and body settings are useful if you suffer with cold feet and the fact that it is washable is useful, as we can wash it at the end of the winter and put it away ready for the next year. It also fits over a deep mattress and we also have a mattress topper; we fit it over the topper and mattress, but under the mattress protector/sheet and it is still very warm. It has three separate time settings, which is useful if you want to put it on before you go out for the evening and come home to a toasty warm bed, or if you just want it on for an hour when you first go to bed. We have had our original since 2011 and it is still going strong. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersFor years we had used the cheaper electric blankets but they had broken down in relatively short order, the last one lasting a year and 2 days! This time I decided to go for the quality option and we weren’t disappointed. The feel of the fleecy top under the sheets and mattress protector is tangible and so much better than being able to discern the electric elements like we could on the old ones. The 9 body and 9 feet settings are great too, they allow a lovely incremental increase, or decrease in temperature and it doesn’t take long to work out “his and hers” levels. So long as the blanket functions for some years, I hope, we will be happy – and very, very warm!

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersBought this to replace my old Dreamland blanket. Fits well on bed, controls easy to use. Would have given it 5 stars except it takes a lot longer to heat up than my old blanket. I am accustomed to only switching it on 10 mins before I get into bed and with the previous blanket you could feel that the chill had been taken off the bed in that time, but not with this one. Didn’t buy Dreamland again because both controllers stopped functioning. Hope I don’t have the same problem with this brand.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersConcerned about the number of disappointed users who experienced failure, but bought anyway, knowing how good Amazon is in looking after its customers. Delighted with the control mechanism and the precision of different levels of heat provided. Pleased with the overall quality. Then one night I switched off the blanket and there was a flash from the switch – visible because the room was in darkness. Everything still worked, but it ws enough to warn me. Every time there is a spark when contacts open, it burns a little of the surface, and after a time this causes the switch to fail. This is caused by either a poorly designed switch or no electronic switch spark suppression. Either way, we now either switch off at the mains socket or pull out the main plug and leave the blanket switch well alone. Now I think I’ve identified the source of potential failure, I believe we’re in for a long and comfortable life with our electric blanket. And yes, I strongly recommend paying the extra to buy this blanket. Money well spent.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI purchased the Homefront electric blanket about two months ago now and I have to say it is one of the best purchases I’ve made in a long time. It has independent dual control, so my husband can have his side of the bed cooler, whilst my side is nice and toasty and what makes this blanket even better is that you can even have your feet warmer then your top half, the blanket is cleverly designed so each section works independently of itself. Also the other great thing about this electric blanket is that it is designed like a fitted sheet, so there are no strings to wrap around your bed, the whole thing sits snugly around your mattress and the electrical cable does not jab into your side, as our old one did. I would not hesitate in recommending this product. Five stars from me.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersBought this electric blanket two months ago and it’s brilliant wish I had invested in an electric blanket years ago! It heats up very quickly and having the dual controls is great because I like my side warmer than my husband. Unlike my parents electric blanket you can’t feel the heating elements, however you can feel is where the mains plugs in near the top but it is very near the edge therefore isn’t an issue. It is as easy to fit as putting a fitted sheet on your bed. We have a very deep mattress and was pleased that it fitted perfectly therefore it doesn’t wrinkle, move or come off the mattress. Would definitely recommend this electric blanket.

Golden Review Award: 36 From Our UsersEach controller requires it’s own plug for power. I was concerned the cables would not be long enough after reading some of the reviews, but in fact each controller cable is quite long! They each can reach to the other side of the bed (this means they can both be plugged into the only plug socket I have, on one side of my bed!). No extension cable needed. Excellent!
It fits my king size bed perfectly, with the heating elements covering every part of the bed (except the pillow area as always). The large skirt is so helpful as I have placed this blanket ontop of my memory foam mattress topper. My fitted sheet goes over the top and although a tight fit, fits like normal.
I have only used my side so far but it heats up quickly (10 mins maybe?) and is lovely. I’ve used the maximum setting and it’s lovely but needs to be turned down as you settle in to sleep as actually gets very hot. Great that you can choose just to warm only feet / body or both and has an off timer setting for how many hours you want it on for. I would always turn it off at the mains when I sleep to be safe though. How did I wait so long to go to bed warm in winter! I can wake up warm / get out of bed easier if I turn it on a little while before I need to get out of bed.

Love the fact you can have it at different temperatures each side as each side has it’s own controls as I don’t want any warmth at my foot end but my partner gets very cold feet and likes his side warm. My Home front one was far more luxurious and has a fleecy blanket with a fitted part to tuck under the mattress so it hasn’t moved at all. Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersHad this under blanket over a week now and love it. This one replaces our previous one that was more years old than I could remember so replace it for safety reasons more than it had anything wrong with it.

I love this one more because there are no straps like our old one and the fleece keeps me warm and cosy all through the night and that’s with the blanket switched off before retiring.

I was going to buy another product that had what appeared to be a very easy to use controls however I came to this one because the reviews for the other blanket were 75% written buy buyers who were given sweeteners for their reviews. When will Amazon learn?

Getting back to those controls, I don’t know about the other blanket but this one is so intuitive to use and needed no instruction for use what so ever. The other thing I love that our old blanket did not do and that is the two zone control. I don’t really like the bed to be too hot but in the deepest of winter my legs and feet freeze like ice poles (getting old) so with the dual zones I can have my body lukewarm and my feet nice and hot.

I was drawn to this blanket because you can have separate body & feet controls & its dual controlled. The first one I ordered was faulty (cables connected to wrong end of blanket I think). It was collected & I got a refund quickly. All communication with the seller was excellent & nothing was queried. Second blanket is perfect. Due to my age (56) I don’t need too much heat at night, but I do get cold feet. Hubby was getting cold, so this seemed the perfect solution & I haven’t been disappointed. Can be used all night & there are 4 heat settings on each part of the blanket. The ‘timer’ has to be done every night for anything from 1 – 11 hours (not 10 bizarrely). I also have a 2″ memory foam mattress topper on the bed (16″ depth in total) & with the elasticated ‘skirt’ it fits perfectly with room to spare. Would recommend product & company.

It’s not a bad item! It heats the bed just like it said it would. There are 4 heat settings for the body and another 4 for the body with an additional timer in 1 hour extending intervals. A review on here asked what it was made of? There was an answer stating it was wool? I don’t think it’s wool myself, I looked everywhere on line and on the packing but the only thing I could find was fleece. Believe me if it was wool I could not go anywhere near it. The king size fits my king size bed perfectly with lots of depth to fit around the mattress. I would have liked to have longer leads to get to the sockets on both sides but this can be overcome with extension leads. The hand remotes do not appear to be very strong but are easy to use. The one thing I don’t like is down the middle of the bed there is an area about 8″ wide (20 cm) where there is no heat, I do understand this is to separate the left from the right but it does leave a cold spot. Would I buy one again? YES I would.

I bought this product based on previous product reviews as I have never owned an electric blanket before. Overall I am very pleased with it. I just use ‘my side’ as my husband is never cold. I put it on maximum for about 20 mins before I go to bed and then switch it off soon after. I think during a really cold spell I could turn it down and allow the timer to switch it off later. I agree with some of the earlier comments that the hand control seems a bit ‘cheap’, but it is very easy and simple to use. The flex isn’t very long so I have to keep it in a drawer by the side of the bed at night or it just dangles. During the day I can leave it tucked under the duvet. The blanket itself fits the bed snugly and comfortably and I am completely unaware of it apart from the delicious warmth. Good value for the price.

I have now bought 3 of these 2 super kings 1for my daughter and 1for me. My daughters husband didn’t want it on the bed at first because he’s always warm but now he wouldn’t be without it .He’s an undertaker and is on call ever 3 weeks out in all weather so when he goes out in the middle of the night he turns the blanket on so when he comes in freezing cold the bed is lovely an warm he uses it more than her and being dual control is brilliant . Also being able to have the feet on separately is a big plus as I sometimes have mine on feet only then turn it down too 2 or 3 all night it’s lovely when it’s really cold . The 3rd is a king size they all fit the beds perfectly and never move .If you’re thinking of buying one look no further the option to have body and feet different temperatures is a big plus and the fact that it turns it’s self off at the time you have chosen is brill ONE HAPPY CUSTOMER

I was surprised at how easy this was to fit to the bed and use. Just opened packaging, hooked onto the bed like a fitted sheet, plugged in and I was away. Really good and easy t use controls and they are truly independent from your partner as well as the foot area which is great to boost a little higher.

The only words of caution would be of something obvious in retrospective but not when I purchased, the blanket requires 2 sockets as the 2 side are totally independent – as in 2 separate system. The positive is the leads are fairly long so they reached to the same side and the only available double plug for me, so that was good too.

the only thing I am unable to comment on is the longevity of the product. I have had it for 6 months now and it has not missed a beat, I see no reason why this will not last for several years – robust and well made in my opinion

Would recommend and already have to others who are also satisfied with the purchase.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersI never realised how amazing electric blankets are until now; in winter I would not want to be without it.

The dual control feature is important since me and my wife seem to like very different temperatures both during the day as well as at night; when you switch the blanket on its default setting is temperature 9 (the hottest) and length of time 1 hour. This is perfect for me, 9 is toasty warm when you get in to bed. But this is not perfect for my wife, she prefers 6 in the middle of winter which is noticeably warm, but not toasty (there’s some accurate heat descriptions for you, but I hope it helps). You have the timer option of the blankets being on for 1, 5, 8 or 12 hours.

The blankets are very comfortable and you are not aware you are sleeping on anything electric, we have ours directly under our flat sheet and no signs of any hot spots yet after 18 months of use.

If you do buy these I would also recommend getting a plug with a timer (if you regularly go to bed at the same time) or we use these with a remote control plug and we switch it on downstairs in the kitchen about 20 minutes before we go to bed, then the bed is toasty warm. Without the plug we often forgot to switch the blanket on prior to getting in, but it was still good to switch it on as getting in, after 10 minutes or so you start to feel the warmth coming through.

When thinking of things I wish could be made better about these blankets, for my wife it would be good if you could set a ‘default’ heat setting so you don’t have to cycle through to get to the desired one (which is just hitting the ‘heat’ button repeatedly until it gets to your desired number). And my other criticism is the timer options, I wish you had the option of 2 hours, rather than straight from 1 hour to 5, this is a big difference and often I want my blanket on a little longer than an hour but not as many as 5. Having said all of that I really wouldn’t hesitate to recommend these blankets, my criticisms really are minor and I hadn’t considered these as drawbacks at all, only improvements on an already fantastic product.

After 2 months one of the controls didn’t switch off after 1 hour then later switched off before 1hour and wouldn’t start again. Tried the one from the other side – as suggested by the seller – and that worked, so they immediately sent me a new one. Unfortunately the second one then stopped working and the new one only worked once then also stopped working on either side. I asked the seller not to send me another control as there seemed to be a problem with the blanket that was perhaps burning out a component on the controls. They immediately said they would send me a new blanket. I’ll see how that goes. If this is a common occurrence perhaps the seller should contact the manufacturer as there may be a fault on the circuit board that could be remedied. I took one control apart but the internal soldered fuse ( to prevent overheating? ) seemed ok. Excellent customer service but not sure about the product yet.

Probably the most useful purchase we have ever made from Amazon and I wish I had overcome my inhibitions about this type of product (only elderly people have these etc), because of our working patterns I often have to sleep solo because my wife works some nights, on those nights when I am by myself (chokes up, tears fall into coffee, sticks pin into leg and returns to real life! to continue revue because of deep love for amazon), on those cold lonely nights (chokes up again) this blanket is wonderful, it does what it says on the tin and a bit more, highly recommended and one comment is that you are unable to use a timer with it or to preset in any way, if you want the bed warm before you go to bed then you have to manually turn the timer on before you go to bed, the manufacturers have missed a trick with this which is something we will look for if we buy any more of this type of product.

UPDATE, we have now had this for just over a year, the left hand control unit is playing up, very faint digital display and hard to set, numbers sometimes wont go past ‘5’, as this is electric and my wife sleeps on it I am going to have to scrap it, its just out of the guarantee period. For the price this should have lasted more than just over a year, I am glad we got one and will replace it now but not with the same make. It is only lightly used, we switch it on in cold weather to warm the bed but dont use overnight, so honestly, I would highly recommend getting an electric blanket and wish we had got one years ago but I CANNOT recommend this particular make and model, we will look for alternative makes, poor quality for the money.

I’m a pretty fit guy in my sixties who can keep the heating off on the coldest nights before going to bed and who doesn’t have much trouble dropping off to sleep, once my body heat has heated the bed up (on my own in a double).

However, with this turned on 15 minutes (on the 1 hour timer programme) before I turn in, combined with the fleece effect you’re lying on under the sheets and mattress cover, I now fall asleep within minutes of my head on the pillow and sleep more soundly than ever.

The dual controls are great for when there are 2 in the bed and the top / bottom zoning is good too but the one complaint I would make is if you set the zoning at any less than the 9 + 9 heat setting, it would be good if it defaulted to that setting the next time it is turned on instead of going back to 9 + 9.

But for the price, excellent buy – particularly for older folk keen on keeping the heating bills at bay on cold winter nights!

Fitted perfectly on my 5′ bed with the fleece under-blanket provides a very comfortable and luxurious experience. No problems with wires and connectors on the bed – but then I don’t sleep RIGHT on the edge, though even if I did I don’t believe they would be where I’m sleeping. It works very well with my time switch… comes on for an hour on high just to warm things up then turns off, then when I go to bed I cam set it on whatever I want (usually level 1 for 8 hours).

Sadly after 2-3 months one of the controllers started acting up but when I reported this it couldn’t have been easier… immediate refund and request to return the product… and to make it easy they’d arranged for it to be collected so I’ve happily ordered a replacement. The only slight downside is that their postage charges have gone up by a pound in the interval.

Still, it must be good if I’m happy to reorder even though it went wrong. Just hope the next one continues without problems.

Firstly all praise to Parcel Force for a next day delivery when estimated date was over a week later.

The cover is REALLY luxurious – the fleece so thick that during last nights inaugral sleep, despite no heating on in my bedroom and having the window open, I actually had to switch the ‘body’ section off and then ‘feet’ an hour or so later – however, the fleece seemed to retain warmth for the rest of the night although the outside temp was only a little above freezing.

I’m so glad I splashed out that bit extra for the luxury version, although the reviews for the ‘standard’ one were 4 or 5 stars and, on a low income, I was (almost) tempted to opt for that. To have nine independent settings for both feet and body is a delight. This gem will hopefully save me a small fortune on bedroom heating costs of a night during this and future winters, and equally appreciative are my two gorgeous moggies, who even as I write this are both curled up asleep on the foot of the bed savouring ‘regulo 3’……!

Update: A very very minor complaint is that if you want to lower heat settings say 3 to 2, you have to cycle all through the nine settings to get there, as there is no plus/minus option!

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI have a very cold bedroom which why I bought this and it has made the past two cold winters so much more bearable.
I’ve not owned an electric blanket before so I cant’ say how this compares to others. The fleecy cover does in itself provide warmth indirectly by acting as insulation against cold air coming up through the mattress. It seems to take around 30 minutes to warm up which is fine. The 4 way independent control is great, left and right, feet and body. The foot zone though seems to be just the last 12 inches of the mattress which is fine if you are as tall as your mattress and sleep fully stretched out, I don’t so find it just provides proximity warmth. Even though I have a cold bedroom I’ve found that the heat from the product is too high to have on whilst sleeping, certainly for the body zone, it’s just about possible with just the foot zone on at the lowest temperature.
It is machine washable but my kingsize one is too bulky for my 9kg washing machine, which means using a launderette instead.

My only gripes are the controls. Firstly they don’t remember your last settings, which I think is a real pain, every time you switch it on it defaults to the maximum temperature for all 4 zones and for the shortest time, so on both sides of the bed you have to adjust the controls. Secondly the little LED lights are way too bright, the one which indicates the 12 hours setting is so bright it lights up the room, I have to cover them with socks in order to be able to get to sleep.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe perfect antidote to a cold winter’s evening….switch this blanket on half an hour or so before you snuggle into bed with your Kindle or a good book (from Amazon of course!) and a cup of cocoa…bliss!

This blanket fits perfectly with no lumps, bumps or wrinkles, and as it’s a fleecy fabric it feels very soft and comfortable; the flex is generous and the controls easy to understand and operate. The blanket has four “zones” as it is divided into two, one for each half of the bed, then again into individual areas for body and feet, and each area is controlled indivually. It heats up fairly quickly and the difference is incredible. Having reviewed several electric blankets, I’m so pleased with this one….but why did I wait so long to enjoy the luxury of getting into a warm bed! Money well spent.

    Update 13 March 2019
I bought this to replace the one I reviewed above. It’s the same model which has had one control replaced, and now the other control packed up and they’re no longer available. I wanted the same one for a number of reasons, not least the control display which was so easy to use, but more importantly, could be seen for as long as the blanket was switched on. It had different coloured lights for the different functions.

The controls are now narrower with a blue backlight which turns off after a few seconds. For me the whole point of a display is to be able to just pop my head into the bedroom to see if my blanket has been switched on — sometimes my husband does this, but not always. Now we can’t check, and although this might sound like an insignificant detail, it is, in fact a real pain as it means each side of the bed has to be checked. According to Homefront this is an “energy saving” exercise. Humbug! The lights on the old control were LEDs, which are energy saving.

Okay, so having got that out of the way, now to the blanket itself. It takes longer to warm up and needs a higher setting to achieve the same heat level. The timer is better though, allowing for hourly increments instead of the chunks of time on the old version.

Although there are certain (small) details that displease me, I still wouldn’t be without the blanket, and if this one lasts as long as the last — hopefully without replacing at least one of the controls, then I’ll be happy.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI have been a fan of electric blankets since the 1950s and this is probably the best one yet. Having said that, it is not perfect.

What I particularly like about it is the huge level of control. Mine has separate controls for each side of the bed and each half has nine heat settings for the body part and another nine for the feet part. It can be used while sleeping and will stay on for 1,5,8 or 12 hours at your choice. It will work with a time switch but not always, I suspect this is due to the complex electronic control. It is supposed to be washable, after removal of the controllers, but I have not tried this yet.

Now for the down side. You may find that you have to adjust your sleeping position when you first use it as there is a hard lump where the cable enters the blanket. This coincides with exactly where I want to put my left elbow. It would have been so easy to put this connector OUTSIDE the bed area so I regard this as a design fault. There is no heat in the pillow area. So you think you don’t need heat there? Try pre-warming your pillow and lay your head on the warm side when you get into bed. It’s lovely! Final grouse. If you don’t like it Homefront won’t take it back on hygiene grounds. I don’t know how this squares with the Distance Selling Regulations and I don’t know Amazon’s attitude on this point. How I have lived 18 years of my life without this item is beyond me.

I have a king sized bed, which is very large for someone of my small stature (5 ft 2″ and petite), and live in an old house on an exposed hill- so obviously, even in some of the ‘warmer’ months, our house remains cold at night and thus I freeze.

Finally getting sick of having to go downstairs at 4am to get a fresh hot water bottle, I purchased this item, and I haven’t looked back. I can turn it on, shower, and then climb into a hot toasty bed with a cosy night of uninterrupted sleep ahead of me- pure bliss!

The duel controls are great- I like my bed HOT, my boyfriend likes his bed warm- so no disagreements there or declarations that I’m ‘boiling’ him. I also love the fact it is a mattress cover and wraps around my mattress to prevent sliding- nothing annoys me more than having to strip down and adjust the bed because something is sliding about underneith me. You also cannot feel the wires because of the padding.

A great product- I highly recommend it. A word of warning though- you may have trouble getting out of bed in the morning!

Bought this luxury fleece version after having the standard type for a couple of years. The product is great and the fleece is snuggly and stops you feeling the wires. I was disappointed that the cables came out of the side rather than the top end though.. They get in the way compared to the one I had before.
Just one thing regarding heated mattress covers in general – I changed my mattress to a visco-elastic type (hence the new purchase) and only when I was flicking through the instructions and guarantee of the mattress itself did I find that you cannot use heated sheets or blankets on this type of mattress as the foam is sensitive to heat.. I had already used the blanket a couple of times and couldnt return it. Just a heads up to all of you who have a similar type of mattress and want to heat up the bed… its not possible.

I suffer quite badly from poor circulation and my husband routinely complains about my ice-cold feet. I had contemplated getting an electric blanket for quite while but had negative memories of the electric blankets from years back, with wires than you could feel through the thin covering all night long. I researched and finally decided on this blanket; I have not been disappointed, nor has my husband. The variable zones temperature settings allow for you and your other half to individually set your preferred heats for body and feet, and the timer allows from 1 hour up to all night long. It warms up really quickly; I now switch it on just before I have my shower. By the time I am done and dried, the bed is cosy and just begging me to slip into the covers. No more cold feet, a very restful sleep with no waking up because my feet or fingers have cramped. Just one warning; it may cost you your job. My husband is finding it really hard to get out of the lovely warm bed, nowadays, and a couple of times has hit the ‘snooze’ button on the alarm clock and fallen into a lovely sleep for another couple of hours, and then been late for work. Maybe I should look for a new alarm clock, ha ha!

Golden Review Award: 82 From Our UsersI never used an electric blanket before but our room is a loft conversion and gets very cold at night. Running an electric heater for half the night was proving to be very expensive, so we decided to look at an electric blanket. I first looked at cheap ones but was put off by the idea of no automatic temperature control and the fact that they didn’t cover the whole bed and you had to tie them down with straps.

Then I saw this and decided it was worth the extra expense, and it was as both me and my girlfriend are very impressed with it. It comes as a fitted sheet so it won’t move around and stays put on the bed, the connections hang from the side of the bed and arn’t very noticable either. I really like the idea of having a temperature control either side as it allows one side to be hotter than the other. The option to be able to have feet hotter than the body is also a really good idea, if your feet always seem to be colder in bed.

Electricity wise it seems to be very frugal. It looks like each side of the bed is rated at 60w, even assuming this was on continuously, which it won’t be, it is only using a fraction of the power of an electric heater. I am very impressed with this.

It is some years since we’ve had to purchase a blanket of any description, let alone a fitted electric one so it was with trepidation when we searched Amazon.

The Homefront seemed ideal, so we ordered it and it arrived unexpectedly the following day. The immediate problem of whether to open the hygene seal despite the severe warning about being non returnable once opened (and the product description was unreadable without opening!) soon resolved we tried that night (and every night since).

The super 99 one hour default works fine with a a noticeable warming within 10 mins. This means that we don’t have (indeed, can’t) to use our time clock to switch it on(a warning here …), but, hey, at this time of year who needs a prolonged warming. In the depths of winter we may have to use other settings but they seem to cover most if not all eventualities. Havn’t tried washing it yet but otherwise great piece of comfortable kit.

Golden Review Award: 623 From Our UsersI bought an expensive Kingsize, fitted Morphy-Richards electric blanket and it worked o.k. until the little knobs on both dual controls broke off. They appear to be made of gossamer and fairy dust. I contacted them to attempt to purchase new power leads but surprise, surprise they don’t sell them. So, despite being less than 2 years old they wanted me to buy a new one from them. Yeah, right. So, needing a new one I looked at the reviews on here and decided to buy…..

Enter the Homefront Premium King Size, fully fitted, luxury fleece, heated mattress cover with dual controls….(so the bride can once again have her own settings without me having to freeze / overheat as her whim takes her).

If Carlsberg did electric blankets……………..this would be the one. It was very easy to fit and unlike the large, clunky, not so well placed Morphy-Richards ones, the electrical connections don’t ‘stab’ you in the arms. So that was a good start. It only took a few moments to heat up and glory of glories, it heats the whole bed, not just a little area in the middle and it heats it to a toasty warmth. Not only that but it has two heat zones. One for the body and one for the feet. You can have either on or off so if you just want to keep your tootsies aglow or want them cool while you bake to a turn elsewhere you can do it.

It gets better though, because each side of the bed now has 9 heat settings available. If you want the full bore heat go to 9, if you want just a trickle of heat choose a lower setting. It works. It really does.

The goodies don’t stop there. The blanket has a timer so you can choose when to have the heat turn off. You won’t fall asleep and wake up three hours later drenched in perspiration – unless you want to of course. This is simply the best electric blanket I can imagine. Apart from giving you a full body massage while whispering endearments in your ear I don’t know what else you would need. It also was a really good price for the apparent quality and specs. I’ll come back in a year to let you know if the knobs have fallen off in a Morphy-Richardsesque death dance.

Edit on 7th feb. 2013. As I promised I have come back after just over a year and have gone through two pretty harsh winters. Everything I previously posted about this product I re-endorse. It is simply perfect for the job. The fact that you can set the timer for 1, 3, 8 or 12 hours duration and have different heat zone temperatures is just the bee’s knees. I’d give it 10 stars if I could.
