This little unit has provided me great video for all my COVID-19 working from home video conferences. I love that it has an focus dial so if i put it closer or further away i can fine tune it to my preference. I would recommend this unit to anyone.

I wanted to flag up the fantastic customer service from Hue, first to help me set up the software, and then when I discovered the first camera had a faulty connection. They responded super quickly, and arranged a speedy replacement. The replacement has arrived and is excellent, and super easy to use for me and my children.

I love this product. It is small, compact, flexible. It has a lot of great use and purpose. Thank you.
Mostly I wanted a webcam for MS Teams or Zoom – and it does that job well. I like the ability to move it around so you can get the height or angle you want, unlike the fixed lens in in my laptop. The video quality is good enough for messaging purposes – better than most built-in laptop cameras.
The ability to photograph documents is useful too, and the built in light helps. But it would be nice if the software supporting that were a bit more sophisticated (for example, switching between landscape and portrait, or recognising the by edges of the document and correcting the perspective). You end up having to crop photos, and it is only marginally easier than photographing the document with your phone.
I am not using it as a teaching aid, so can’t really comment on the ability to project desktop workings, but from playing with it, it seems good, with some useful tools in the software.
The other thing I wish it had is autofocus. It isn’t too much of a problem if you are sitting at a desk, but it you want precise focus on a document or if you are moving around, it is less than ideal.
Nonetheless – I am pleased with it, and think it was a good buy. It worked out of the box, and has versatility that is lacking in other web cameras.

Pretty quick delivery and no problem installing. Windows 10 plug and play installed the drivers in seconds. I had none of the problems others have mentioned regarding it not wanting to install. At this stage it would be fine as a webcam.
I downloaded the intuition software from huehd.com/new , as no cd/dvd drive on pc. When installed it wanted to use C drive but I have M2 drive with little space (or rather I don’t want to clutter it) so changed it to install on my D drive. This gave no issues.
Running the software I found the video would not save and the program crashed. After restarting program I went into setting and set paths in drive D & created a ‘Hue folder with subfiles, photo, temp video and video – I think it was trying to save to C and could not find a folder (since there was not one).
I did get a crash again, but on the next restart of the program it all seemed to work.
After recording a video it goes to playback where you can see it, then you have to save it to your chosen file path – saves as WMV file – cant see option for other formats. Quality is ok – is only 720 res and the lens in the camera is very basic – (see the video review with this).
I found adjusting the focus easy in terms of the physical side of things, but quite hard to get a perfect focus on a document – centre seemed good but getting edge blur.
Seems okay for a webcam as more distant focus is more acceptable.
If you were going to use it as a visualiser for online lessons then it will be a fiddle making sure it is close enough for text to be legible. No auto focus or program zoom means moving the camera back and forth.
I’m sure that it would suffice.
The software allows photos, but I cannot see a lot of difference between scan, document capture and Image capture – there are not a lot of settings you can adjust! I took the same photo on each and could not see a difference, except that i could write on the document camera one with a very basic tool – but it does work – see photo.
Turning the led on and off is easy, but I could not really see a difference. In my bright room, the lighting is almost too bright for the camera.
In summary it is not a bad camera for this price and this is coupled with the fact that it is hard to find any camera that you can actually buy and get delivered during lock down.
Compr este producto para utilizarlo para mis clases on line (por el covid 19), necesitaba una especie de pizarra para escribir trminos matemticos con rapidez, ya que en las pizarras online tena que escribir con el ratn y me estaba produciendo tendinitis.
Funciona perfectamente con el chromebook: nada ms instalarlo, aunque me sala una imagen especular, lo he solucionado abriendo la cmara y cogiendo la opcin de cmara trasera, y funciona perfectamente. Se visualiza sin problemas mi cuaderno y mis anotaciones. . Lo he utilizado con meet y perfecto (modo compartir pantalla), aunque tengo problemas con el micro (tendr que investigar un poco ms) ; he solucionado este ltimo problema trabajando con dos ordenadores.
Estoy contenta, y mis alumnos lo han agradecido.
Si consigo solucionar el problema del micro le pondr 5 estrellas.

Decent video quality, easy to use.
The quality of the camera is OK, but do not expect an HD resolution compared to professional visualisers available at universities. It is easy to use, though, and it is useful for online teaching.

Elle fait le job. Je prcise qu’elle a un micro intgr de trs bonne qualit, de mme que la qualit d’image sans qu’elle soit exubrante pour de la visioconfrence ou des cours en ligne. Trs bon produit l’usage.
Elle est directionnelle et permet donc de montrer des documents ou des objets, mme de petite taille. Pas du de mon achat.

Ademas de dar un excelente imagen (lo utilizo en mi oficina en casa para video conferencias durante el confinamiento Covid), no hubo que haver mas que enchufarlo para que funcionase inmediatamente con Zoom, Teams y Skype.

I bought this camera for my Mother who’s an arts tutor to help her to switch to online lessons during this covid-19 lockdown. She needed something that would be compatible with Zoom and something that can be focused on what she’s drawing/making during the lesson. This camera has exceeded our expectations. It ticks everything what we were looking for except from perhaps automatic focus, which you need to adjust manually but even then it is very easy and smooth manual adjustment. Very good product, recommend it.

Le produit offre un trs bon rapport qualit prix. Facilement utilisable en classe par exemple. Peut tre branch sur son socle, mais aussi directement sur l’ordinateur et le bras est totalement flexible, le tout permettant une grande varit d’utilisations et d’adaptatons. On peut galement rgler la nettet. Le petit bmol tant la lumire qui n’est pas trs vive et que l’on ne peut pas teindre : elle provoque donc parfois des reflets sur certains supports.

En plus d’tre jolie et design, elle est trs facile maniable grce son bras flexible et son support stable. Lgre, elle se transporte partout. Son utilit peut tre multiple et ce, dans de nombreux domaines : montrer des expriences scientifiques, montrer un jeu et sa manipulation et/ou correction, enregistrement de vidos, captures … Le champs des possible est trs large. Quant la qualit de sa camra, elle est tout simplement surprenante. Les lves apprcient beaucoup cette nouvelle dimension du numrique.

Excellente qualit pour la photo. pour la vido, comme il n’y a pas de zoom, il ne faut pas tre trop loin mais 5 mtres a va (et il ne me fallait pas plus.) Juste faire attention quand on retire la camra de son socle ou de l’ordi car la camra tendance basculer et et je l’ai dj cogne(sans dgt heureusement). Aprs plusieurs utilisations et surtout avoir russit tlcharger la licence gratuite l’ai essay avec Skype, trs bonne qualit d’image.

Great but faulty cable
It’s great but the miniuab cable that plugs into tge stand that came with mine was faulty. Really disappointing. I can still use the camera plugged directly into USB slot.

We were wooed by the claims that this camera would be easy to set up and be recognized instantly by Windows 10. Long story short, after contacting HUE’s support department (you can reliably expect an email response from their UK HQ within 24 hours) a few times, we were finally able to get the camera working on my wife’s school laptop. However, this was only AFTER we downloaded and installed the proprietary software.
Pros:
– Good quality picture
– Lightweight, flexible
– Easy to plug in, camera detaches from base to plug directly into the computer
– Responsive (if a little slow) customer support
Cons:
– Took considerable time and effort to get working, despite claims on this page
– The software is a little crude (dated) and clunky, and requires a key akin to Fort Knox or Microsoft to activate. For the quality, the whole registration seemed excessive. however, this isn’t a game changer.
All in all, we’re glad we rode out the challenges. It’s an easy camera to use and transport, and the quality is great.

Je suis enseignante est dans la classe il n’y a qu’un vido projecteur j’ai donc dcid de m’quiper de cette camra. Et je la recommande vraiment elle est aujourd’hui essentielle dans notre classe. Vous pouvez facilement rgler la nettet manuellement. Les lves l’ont trs vite adopt. On travaille avec quotidiennement que ce soit pour projeter un exercice de mathmatiques, montrer une production crite d’un lve, prsenter un objet la classe, … Les possibilits sont infinies.

Great product, I use mine for remote training by webcast so I can show automation demonstrations working and to help explain design principals by showing hand drawn diagrams in real time. The support from this company is excellent.

Zwar war die mitgelieferte CD (vermutlich lieferbedingt) zerbrochen, aber mithilfe des Aktivierungs-Codes lsst sich das zugehrige Programm in einer aktuelleren Version auch problemlos auf der Hersteller-Website runterladen. Installation und Treiber-Initialisierung liefen praktisch von selbst. Es ist anzumerken, dass auf lteren Windows-Versionen .NET Framework 4.6.2 installiert sein muss. Das Treiberpaket gibt es aber ebenfalls problemlos auf der Microsoft-Seite und das HUE-Programm (Intuition) weist ber eine entsprechende Fehlermeldung auch explizit darauf hin. Wer dennoch Probleme mit der Installation hat, sollte einfach mal einen EDV-Grundkurs fr Senioren belegen. Hab das Gert heute das erste Mal im Unterricht verwendet. Sorprendente y muy util
La utilizo para dar formacion en linea conmutando con la webcam y esta y la verdad es que es sorprendente lo bien que se ve cuando pones una hoja debajo y dibujas en ella. La veo muy util tambien para quien quiere dar formacion en clases etc. No es exactamente una webcam y creo que no sirve para eso, pero si la combinas con una webcam vas a tener el mejor sistema para dar formacion y al mejor precio. Me gusta mas que usar una tableta grafica

La veo muy util tambien para quien quiere dar formacion en clases etc. No es exactamente una webcam y creo que no sirve para eso, pero si la combinas con una webcam vas a tener el mejor sistema para dar formacion y al mejor precio. Me gusta mas que usar una tableta grafica
Lo utilizo para clases y los nios estn encantados con lo que les puedo proyectar. Instalacin fcil, lo nico que tuve que hacer fue descargarme de la web oficial la ltima versin de software y todo funciona correctamente.

Bought this product for classroom use and it is working well so far. The focus adjyster and light make it adaptable for all situations. When installing I had a difficulty with the software activation code. However I ysed the contact us section of the hue website and received a quick and helpful response with a solution to my problem. The camera is very clear and easily adjusted.
This is my second Hue HD Camera having had the previous model. The main advantage of the newer version for me is the ability for the camera to display a whole page of A4 or a textbook without having to elevate it on books as I did with my previous model. This makes it much easier to show the pupils a complete page or piece of work. The base is also much sturdier and the light is a nice feature – but only on darker days. The camera was well priced and works straight out of the box. It plugs and plays into my school computer without any need to install drivers or hassle the IT department. I use the camera almost daily. Modelling is a large part of my teaching and I will regularly model answers for pupils to improve and develop their work. I find it invaluable for geographical skills. I will model how to draw a cross section or a graph – pupils follow along and it saves time as they do not make mistakes. Excellent pupil work is displayed for the class to see providing immediate feedback. As a geographer it helps me to practice what I preach as I often now display handouts or question sheets on the board without having to photocopy copies for every pupil. I am hoping to use it further soon to film both pupils when completing presentations so that we can review them and for filming my own classroom practice for CPD.

Je trouve les leds pratiques en trs basse luminosit. En effet lorsqu’il y a dj de la lumire cela ne change pas grand chose mais lorsqu’il fait sombre, aide.

Lleg con retraso y debido a que su software de instalacin viene en un CD me ha dado muchsimos problemas para la instalacin, ya que mi porttil ya no trae ese formato. Pero tengo que agradecer la gran atencin que me prest el equipo tcnico en su pgina web, que me permiti completar la instalacin.

I am really happy with this little camera. I use it for online tuition to demonstrate the use of manipulatives and to show pages of text books to the student at the ‘other end’. It is quick and easy to change from using the built in webcam on the computer to the HUE HD Pro which ensures a smooth transition between different parts of the lesson, ensuring that my students receive a professional service. This really is a ‘plug and play’ device. When I got it out of the box, I plugged it into the computer and started to use it straight away.

Grnde dafr waren u.a. das tolle Preis-Leistungsverhltnis (unsere Schule hat nicht viel Geld …) und die Optik – ich gestehe. Die Kamera hat mich rundherum begeistert. Ich kann sie wirklich – wie beschrieben – einfach an den USB-Anschluss meines Computers im Biologiesaal anschlieen und bekomme sofort nach Aufruf der Software ein Bild, das per Beamer fr alle SchlerInnen sichtbar ist. Ich kann sehr einfach Pfeilchen einzeichnen, Texte dazuschreiben, Bilder speichern und spter wieder aufrufen sowie die Kamera einfach als “Lupe” benutzen – bisher meine hufigste Anwendung …
Die Schrfe ist manuell einstellbar – fr mich ein klarer Vorteil, da das stndige Autofokussieren (wie ich es bei meiner Handykamera kenne) gerade bei groen Vergrerungen und dem Verschieben des Objekts wegfllt. Die Kamera steht stabil und ist so klein, dass sie auch leicht verstaubar ist. Trotzdem habe ich sie auch schon eingesetzt, um groe (A4) Bilder aus Fachbchern zu projezieren – ich brauche nicht mehr durch die Reihen gehen und jedem eine Abbildung fr 5 Sekunden anschauen lassen – sie ist einfach an der Wand fr alle zu sehen UND ich kann noch Wichtiges markieren und schriftlich kommentieren … genial. Mittlerweile berlegen wir, die Kamera auch anderen (Matura-)Klassen zur Verfgung zu stellen – gerade bei Prsentationen knnte sie sehr hilfreich (weil einfach handhabbar) sein.
Das einzige “Manko” ist die etwas geringe Beleuchtungsstrke. Im Normalfall komme ich ohne sie aus, aber (gerade bei Vergrerungen) wren manche Objekte sicher mit mehr Licht besser darzustellen. Der Vorteil ist natrlich, dass dadurch auch keine strenden Schatten entstehen, wie ich sie schon bei anderen Kameras erlebt habe.
Hat man erstmals die Software installiert – der telefonisch erreichbare Kundenservice war wegen meiner technischen Unbedarftheit dabei sehr hilfreich – ist die Kamera wirklich sofort einsatzbereit – klare Kaufempfehlung – nicht nur fr Schule und Unterricht 🙂

Todo bien salvo que tuve problemas con la instalacin del software. Es necesario tener conexin a internet y el nmero de licencia que vena con el CD no era suficiente, haba que pedir otra verificacin. Pero el producto es fiel a lo que anuncian.

Soy profesor y es estupenda para realizar videos y poder subirlos a internet, para que mis alumnos puedan verlos las veces que deseen. Eso s, no he conseguido que los vdeos suban directamente desde la aplicacin.

Wir nutzen die Kameras etwa seit Anfang des Jahres seitdem wir sie von einer Messe in Stuttgart mitgebacht hatten. Ich selbst nutze als Zimmermeister das Gert eher als “Gimmick”, wenn ich z.B. per Einzelbildmodus und Zeitschaltfunktion einzelne Bilder meiner Bauvorhaben automatisch aufnehmen lasse, die ich im Nachhinein am PC mit einem kleinen extra Tool am PC zusammensetzen kann. So kann ich zum Beispiel den gesamte Enstehungsprozess einer Konstruktion im Zeitraffer festhalten, was auch bei den Bauherren gut angekommt. Auch wenn dies eventuell nicht die ursprngliche Idee ist, fr meine Ansprche bin ich mit diesem Gert durchaus zufrieden!

Que escribo con total claridad. Perfecto para revisar problemas de fisica o integrales complejas.
Por cierto (la uso en mac) he tenido q comprar el software iglasses (19.95$) para que lo que escribo aparezca correctamente sino parecia que escribiera en un espejo y esta camara no permite efectos. Quiza seria bueno q lo hiciera (rotar girar etc)

Die Kamera kann sowohl ber den mitgelieferten Standfu und einem USB Kabel als auch direkt mit dem USB Stecker am PC angeschlossen werden. Es ist kein extra Netzteil erforderlich. Mein USB-Port lieferte genug Strom fr den Betrieb. Die Kamera wurde problemlos von meinem PC mit Win10 erkannt. Die HUE HD Pro kann z.B. mit dem VLC Mediaplayer verwendet werden. Einfach beim Punkt Aufnahmegert ffnen” die HUE auswhlen.
Die Auswahl des Bildausschnitts erfolgt durch die Vernderung des Abstands zum Objekt mit Hilfe des flexiblen Schwanenhalses. Das Scharfstellen bei gleichzeitigem Belassen des Abstandes bedarf etwas bung. Das Videobild ist scharf und eignet sich auch gut zum Projizieren ber einen Beamer. Die Verzgerung des Livebildes ist gering. Linsenseitig lassen sich 4 LEDs zur Beleuchtung des Objekts ein- und ausschalten.

Bien meilleur que la gnration prcdente :
– grand angle, pour afficher pleinement du A4
– leds (allumage tactile au dessus de la tte)
– pied bien stable.
Pas d’autofocus, mais ce prix on ne va pas se plaindre.

Works well as a visualiser. The light makes little difference to anything though.
Using this product in my classroom is straight forward. The resolution is beautifully clear.
I use this camera all the time in my lessons to live model activities for students; they love watching me do things and naturally want to work along with me and the HUE HD Pro delivers such a crisp picture and its much more stable than the HUE HD that I am never interrupting learning to fiddle with the camera. Since buying this, 3 other teachers in my department have invested in one as well!
I did have the product but returned it as I purchased the wrong item. I thought that this came with the animation software like the the Hue HD but unfortunately this one came with its own software which enables it to project and capture items. This was not what I wanted, I wanted it for animation which comes with the other camera. The webcam is study and I love the way it can be manipulated into different angles. You can have it attached to the base or straight to your computer.
I did have problems getting it to work as a plug and play and needed to download software off the internet to get it to work. I also couldn’t get the software to work. I emailed the company that designed the software and they solved it, which was great but by then I had already decided to return it. Hours of trying getting a product to work can do that to you. I would have kept it if it came with the animation software (as the stand is great), but for the price a another HD camera would give you better quality filming and the selling point for me was going to be the software.
