Bought this mower recently to replace an all plastic Bosch rotax which served well for many years. This however is a much better build and has metal axles and a roller. Height transition is much easier with this Hyundai than the rotax imho. Also a mulching plug supplied if doing a very fine cut and not collecting the grass. All in all highly recommend this little mower.
Seems robust, like height adjustments. Cuts right to edge. Grass collector works well, cuts well. You will need an extension lead unless your lawn is very small with a plug nearby.
Bought this product to replace recently deceased mower. Arrived in a few days. Pretty easy to assemble.
The metal components appear light but only time will tell re their durability in long term use
Previous mower seemed capable of cutting longer grass but then again I should not let it get that long. Pretty effective. Good for small to medium garde
Despite being blue, this is quite an efficient mower. It’s easy to use and push, and the height adjustment is easy to do. It does leave bits of grass escaping from the sides of the machine, which you have to go over again in a different direction to pick up – or to mulch. The mulch plug is easy to fit and remove and mulching works but, again, leaves bits at the sides. The quality of build seems robust and assembly relatively easy. However, folding the handle down to save space for storage is not quick nor simple. Another criticism is the total lack of any provision for winding and storing the cable. I wind it up and slip it into a small plastic carrier, hung on a thumb nut on the handle. Overall a good machine and easy to use.
You get a lot of mower for not much cost. It is generally very well built, though I’m not sure how long the flimsy foldable handle will last. It’s also much heavier than the old plastic Bosch mower I had. So are so good.
Assembly is fairly easy but I would advise anyone to have a look at the assembly video on Youtube ( link in Instruction Manual). Actually seeing how things fit together makes a big difference. This is a 1600 watt motor but still feels lacking in power a wee bit. I had been on holiday for three and a half weeks and when I returned the grass was over a foot long. My old cordless mower wouldn’t even look at it so I purchased this Hyundai. It cuts fairly well and the height adjustment is easy to select. If your grass is even a wee bit long I would advise clearing the exit chute from blade area to grass collector regularly as it blocks up fairly quickly. I had removed the mulch plug before starting. All in all a decent lawnmower for the money and the 3 year warranty is a bonus.
Really like the easy gear stick for changing the height of the cut – it’s so easy. It was also very easy to assemble when it arrived. I like the big, collapsible grass collecting basket. (Had too often empty it.). My lawn is very much an up and down lawn (if you can call it a lawn,) but it coped very well. It doesn’t look too plasticky either. A big 10/10 for being 100% suitable for small people to use easily. I’m 5ft 2 in and it was so easy to use!
Another reviewer said a big minus was there were not any spare blades you can buy but I have googled it and quite a few for sale came up. (The instructions do tell you how to remove yourself if you want to sharpen it though) . Instructions also advise that if the mower has hit a foreign object and damaged the plastic blade boss adapter, then the two plastic lugs may have sheared off. That this can be purchased via the Hyundai Power Products Team I searched online and various blades came up, from 14.00 upwards on different sites. So yeah, only used the once but so damned happy we replaced the petrol mower with this. NB we kept the electrical lead (plugged into an extension lead) over our left shoulder, for safety’s sake . Tbh, I rate a decent electric mower anyway over a petrol one, with all the hassles it entails, (emptying after each use is one such hassle).
Would benefit from a longer cable, ( which is permanently wired in). The cable hook for the lead is ineffectual.
That said pleased with the outcome, packs up easy and away in the shed no bother.
This mower is well designed, but with a couple of niggling issues. Chiefly it’s storeage. You cannot lock the cams in place when both parts are folded would have been better to have had a notch for this than 3 different heights. Have had to put a bungee strap round it. But it does fold up smaller than my old flymo. Cable can get caught in the folded handle even with the clips in place.
2 main drivers for buying this over the mountfield princess 38 was a fabric grass box that is smaller to store and the height adjustment on the mountfield looks plasticky connector rods compared to the metal hyuandai ones.
Time will tell if I ha e got the right one though.
Cuts well enough.had to Sharpen the blade straight out the box as it was so dull. First cut today from circa 10cm thick grass down to level 2 all in one go no noticeable power loss. Some grass spillage so had to do a second run over to pick up, but no different than any other mower.
Cable tension reliever on the back of the power switch, does not hold the cable on place.
The good things- a solid, well-built and well designed electric mower with 5 height settings, and a powerful motor. Reality is it cuts my mowing time from over an hour to under 30 minutes and gives neater results. I also only have 3 trips to empty the grass collector rather than the previous 5 to 6 of the Flymo.
This machine is slightly more awkward to steer and you will notice it the first time but you get used to it after that. A great plus is that it folds to a surprisingly small space.
So would I recommend it? Oh yes! A seriously good machine despite its (minor) flaws.

Perfect for me to whizz around my garden without having to rely on the man of the house.
Only thing I didn’t like or think is pointless is the roller! Doesn’t do a thing

My petrol mower gave up and needed a replacement in a hurry! Amazon provided that amazing next day service! I have assembled the mower and used it once. A good cut, if a little generous in the clippings that didn’t reach the good size grass box! It was light and easy to handle. Good adjustment range. I have no problems with this at just under 140…..although I am a old fashioned petrol mower bloke! Forget the roller stripes…. no electric mower – being so light, can produce the classic striped lawn! It does the job well, it is powerful, and seems well built. Your choice – 140 or pay 500+ for a petrol version? Grass is grass (for most of us) in the end!
Needed a new mower for many reasons, mainly I have had replacement knees so needed a lighter and much easy to manoeuvre mower

Very pleased with the mower. Only took 15 minutes to assemble. Cut a small test area and the result was much better than I had hoped for. Very quiet considering the 1600w motor. Collected the grass very efficiently. Is a good weight, not too heavy and not too light. Highly recommend.
I like the mulching feature which I didn’t expect to work as well as it does.Grassbox is a good size.
The rear roller is pretty useless as the spring loading is too weak.
The machine takes a fair bit of cleaning under the deck.
Otherwise a good buy.

From delivery this morning to mowing my lawn took just 10 minutes preparation to attach the handle and grass box. Very easy instructions and worked straight away.
Mower cuts well and is fairly quiet when compared to my previous Bosch electric mower. Easy to manoeuvre and light to pick up. Didn’t use the collapsible handle as have enough room in my shed but looks easy to fold using the quick release levers.
For the price I think this mower is great value for money
Truly a great mower. Light weight and easy to use. Turned a mundane chore into a pleasurable job. Easy to store as the handle collapses on to the machine and you can then sit up straight so it takes up hardly any room.
So far the only thing I can find that could be better is if it had a longer cable.

It was easy to assemble and use, make sure you take the mulching plug out.
Only used it once but it performs well. It’s nice and light to push and has adjustable cutting heights – I had mine on shortest setting as I like the lawn to be cut short. It manages uneven ground ok too. Overall I’m really happy with this and think it’s good value for money.

This just glides through grass, quickest I’ve ever cut back and front lawns.

Simple to assemble from its box and easy to use. Mows the edges well and has easily adjustable heights. This mower also holds a lot of grass cuttings before you have to empty it and the cord is nice and long.

Needed a new lawnmower and was drawn to this, overall when i took this out of the box took 5 minutes to set up and off i went.
The cutting height is easy to change with the gear style lever,the only problem i had was the grass was not short enough but that just me.
My grass was abit long and did cut it fine but did struggle a little.
I had the mulching on and was shocked how well it worked and the added bonus it has a roller for the stripes.

Opened the box and assembly was simple. After I had it working I tried a mulch cut on my lawn and was pleasantly surprised by the result. Quiet when running, highly recommended.
Good quality mower robust enough to tackle my garden which was overgrown, previous mowers engine burnt out tackling it.
Had new lawn laid about 6 weeks ago and decided a new mower was required!…..after lots of research decided on this Hyundai HMY3800E – Arrived quicky and was very easy to assemble – took me about 10 mins. Mower is very easy to use and does a really good job – very happy with this purchase and would highly recommend
I have only used it once so far but this mower appears to be well made and well designed. Its reasonably quiet for its power rating. The 3 year warranty was a big consideration for me, also that Hyundai cars have gained a well deserved reputation for reliability.
