The impact wrench is small and light weight but packs a punch without the loud sound of a typical air impact wrench. It’s very comfortable in the hand without causing any undue strain from extended use. I really like the tool it’s just too bad that it’s made in China

If you own an impact tool with a grease fitting, this is really the only way to get grease into it. Most people never do this and it kills the tool. The cheaper air impact tools don’t usually have a fitting for greasing the internals.

Quiet and very powerful. Very good price. Bought this when I saw it in action at the auto repair shop. Mechanic let me play with it and was sold on it. I’m a weekend mechanic and use this all the time. Buy the protective cover for it while you are at it.

The good: Small and very ergonomic, I got the Q which is very quiet

    The bad: underpowered as f***

The ugly: its leaking grease out of the output shaft pretty bad. it stopped after sending a few big boys home, but I think they should work on sealing these a bit better. Also the manuals should detail how to maintain these (what grease/ oil to use, and where to put it).

Overall good for those hard to reach spaces, but this won’t work as your only

This thing is great! Coming off of a 30-year-old Snap-On impact, this thing is fantastic! Lightweight, decently ergonomic grip, a potentiometer-style throttled trigger, quiet operation, and it’s powerful to boot! I’d definitely recommend this to anyone and everyone!

I actually bought this on accident but it still fulfilled the intended purpose. Over the last few weeks of using it on a daily (mon-sat) basis, this little thing has truly proved it’s worth. It’s lightweight and quiet feature really make it just. Well. Adorable. It’s sounds like a cat meowing when you pull the trigger. I Love it.

I used a hair drier to heat up the boot and it went on easy. Material is well made and should greatly lessen the impact if tool is dropped.

Well, not much to say on this. Number 1, soak it in hot water for 3-5 min…really hot, before trying to install. It works, its it critical no…but does assist in avoiding some scratches.

Covers well, looks good, sort of transparent. Got this for my 231C. Looks good and covers a decent portion of the tool. FOR EVERYONE SAYING IT WAS TOUGH TO GET ON: PUT A BOWL OR POT IM YOUR AINK, RUN THE TAP AS HOT AS IT WILL GO AND THROW THE COVER IN THE BOWL. LET IT SIT FOR APPROX TWO MINUTES. SLIDES ON WITH MINIMAL EFFORT. Will update as use goes on.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersProfessional tech. Incredible smooth power. Incredibly lightweight and unbelievable how quiet it is. Hits like a truck but somehow doesn’t transfer the hammer into you hand. Hits hard but knows how to back itself off so as to not snap the heads off. Only drawback is I have a 9.5″ hand (NFL QB avg) and the grip is pretty big in circumference making it rub on my knuckle. Maybe there was a slimmer option and I missed it. Dunno, I’m sure I’ll get used to it and even knowing this I wouldn’t trade it.

Purchased this product for my IR 2235ti impact gun, and it’s well worth the cost. Fits perfectly, and looks to made from quality material. I would recommend heating this boot up a little to ease installation. Letting it sit out in the sun on a warm day would work well enough. Very satisfied with this product and would definitely recommend to anyone looking to add some exterior protection to 2235 series IR impact gun.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI cant believe how quiet this impact gun is. I have used an inexpensive “import” gun for a number of years and actually considered a 2nd one as a replacement, but I found the IR 2135QXPA on Black Friday and decided to take a chance. Holy smokes, at $129 (only about $30 more than the comparable import) this thing is awesome! No more high pitch “squeal” when I pull the trigger, basically all you hear is the hammer – much like a battery operated impact. Serious business! A new customer with mild hearing loss says THANKS for such quiet & well made quality tool. I will certainly be looking at the Ingersoll Rand brand tools first when adding to my air tool collection.

Note: After Amazon sent me the wrong item twice, they wouldn’t even try again to send me the correct one and instead refunded my purchase price. I had to end up finding this from an online auction site to get the correct one. But IF you manage to get the correct boot from Amazon…

I had this boot but in blue on my old IR231 for over 20 years. It got dirty and gouged up, but did the job of protecting my tool very well. Finally it tore near the button/slider to change the direction and it would get caught underneath and keep me from fully switching direction. After lasting so long and giving me my money’s worth, I decided to replace it.

This new boot seems to be of the same quality as my older one. It was a similar hassle to install, but it wouldn’t work nearly as well if it didn’t fit snugly, so I consider that a good thing in this case. It has the same coverage of the old one and has the same feel. Only time will tell if this will last as long, but I am very happy with it at this point. I’m only giving it 4 stars for now because I don’t know about the long-term durability yet.

I bought this for my 2135QXPA Impact even thought I don’t have the titanium model it still fits perfect. I contacted Ingersoll Rand looking for the exact boot for my impact and they suggested the (part # 2350-BOOT) but its not longer readily available and if it is, its around $30 so I went and bought this one. I took some brake cleaner to the “Titanium” lettering and it came right off without damaging the boot. (which is also a good sign that the boot is very chemical resistant)

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersProfessional mechanic for 41 years, have owned plenty of 1/2 inch impacts. The IR231 was the gold standard 35 years ago, and this one continues the legacy. My 12 yr old 2135 has seen better days, and I would buy another one, if not not for the price being more than the 2235. Comparing the 2 this one has slightly more power. It also weighs more. It’s quiet too. Three other techs here have the 2235 and have had no problems, and they had Snap On brand that only lasted a couple of years. This is the best impact for the money hands down! Golden Review Award: 22 From Our UsersI should have both this ten years ago when I began working on cars. It is the best one I’ve ever used so far. My new coworker had just purchased the Snap On one for like $500 plus or whatever astronomical price it was. It is deafeningly loud and not any stronger than this one that I got. This one is quiet and powerful and relatively cheap – it’s a sleeper! The ergonomics could be a little better on the handle, but it doesn’t lose any points for that from me. It’s durable, too. It has fallen off of my tool cart a couple times with no problem.

Golden Review Award: 47 From Our UsersI’m a moble tech and I’ve had my share of impacts from small to large, Cheap to expensive. The impact gun that I replaced was over 13yrs old and it was also an ingersoll rand. My older gun out preformed my newer more expensive snap-on one, so needless to say I was disappointed when it died. Being a moble tech you need tools that are reliable and strong because you’re limited to what you have. When I was researching impact guns I came across this one and purchased it. I was working on a tractor trailer and the more expensive impact couldn’t remove some bolts, this impact didn’t even break a sweat. Byfar this is the best 1/2 ” impact I own.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersThis worked perfectly for greasing a IR 2317G! You ONLY HAVE to use this IF you have an impact wrench like the Ingersoll-Rand 2317G series that REQUIRE it. These types of models need to have the impact mechanism GREASED. Luckily, this model had a plug that this applicator fits perfectly into, instead of having to take the entire front casing off of. This grease IS the right weight of grease and was very easy to use. If left for a few days you did have to reprime the applicator, but that is not a hard thing to do. It was leaking a little after use, but then I started to squeeze less near the end of pumping grease into my wrench, and I don’t have very much grease loss. It is good for preventative greasing on my other wrenches as well. It IS important to use an actual wrench grease of a proper weight for better maintenance and longer lifespan of the tool. This grease is also sold in 1 lb tubs if you don’t need the applicator.

No problem installing this on the impact. No need to heat anything, just pay attention to where the tension is and it’ll move along. This is a necessary item to protect a lifetime tool investment. Now I can set the impact on the shop floor by the hose while holding the wheel on the hub with my other hand. Or drag it from over there to here where I need it by the hose. All without scratching up my super-sweet Ingersoll Rand impact. IR is my preferred brand for all air tools.

Since I drag my 2135QTi Max all over the garage and driveway, the boot is a must to keep the pretty titanium from getting all scratched up. This boot was really tough to get on, but with about 10 minutes of fidgeting, it makes a very tight form to protect the tool.

  91. Anonymous says:

Purchased this when I got a new 2135ti max, fits like a glove but can be a real pain to put on. I recommend hitting it for just a minute with a heat gun (my $8 heat gun did just the trick) as it makes installation instantaneous. Has taken some drops/hits in the shop over the last few months, gotten real dirty but cleans nicely and seems to protect my gun very well. If you invested in the gun it’s a no brainer to grab one of these and a care kit, grease & oil daily and it’ll last for ages and tackle everything you need it to.

Now you can protect your Ingersoll Rand tool from shop damage with this ill-fitting tool boot. The boot is so tight it is at the breaking point by the time you get it on. After four attempts, I got it still a little crooked but it went on. This boot fits several different models and I hope the others work better. Even though It fits poorly, I wouldn’t want to work without it.

Fits like a glove and protects the finish of your high dollar IR Impact gun! It provides a nice grip, doesn’t hamper gun maintenance, and keeps an even temperature. And it looks good! It is a bit of a bear to get on, but that is to be expected.

Definitely worth it to keep the finish of the tool in great shape.

Several of the guys I work w/ have this gun or one like it. Amazon had the best price and I love their service, so I bought it. It is everything I hoped for. Light, quiet and good power for it’s size. Don’t expect this gun to have the power of it’s big brother, it won’t. But for avg use it is great. I am a profesional auto tech and use and impact on almost every job. It removes lugnuts and most fasteners w/o a problem. I have had a couple of 16mm crank bolts I had to step-up to the big boy for , but that’s it. Even removed an axle nut today no problem. Now if you do trucks and heavy duty stuff alot, your might need it’s big brother.

While this boot fills the bill when protecting the gun from life’s hard knocks, it benefits from the judicious use of a razor knife around the power selector dial, and the forward/reverse buttons.
The overhang of the material, particularly around the two buttons, makes their actuation sometimes difficult.
That said, it performs its intended purpose admirably

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI received+ this cover yesterday. I was excited about getting it. My expensive impact wrench was getting scratched, severely. I take care of my tools, but they are made to use and earn a living with also. I first cleaned my impact tool very well, removing any oily film, then carefully slid the protective cover over tool. It was an exact fit. The material for this cover is like compressed foam, feels very durable to everyday use of impact tool. Now I want have to be as careful when I set it down somewhere, just in case it were to fall. Once, I was told that these were available online, but I had not found them anywhere. When I saw this, especially for the reasonable price, I bought it without reservation! Great tool, Great price. You will not go wrong buying this for your impact, plus it looks cool also. I’m sure, everyone will be asking you, where you got it from too.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersIngersoll Rand 2130 Protective Tool Boot

Contacted Amazon to have the picture changed from the RED boot to the correct BLACK boot picture.
Very happy with this purchase and included some pictures of it installed for your reference.
A very tight fit indeed but would not want it any other way.
Buy this tool protector with confidence.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our Usersothing to get excited about -it is oil & grease for pneumatic tools – The small bottle WILL leak keep it standing if room allows. if you work in a shop where you have a lot of moisture in the air lines I recommend twice daily oiling of your tools. I also have an inline moisture filter.

grease your impact tools at least once a week.

shipping and product are fine no troubles

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe boot I got is black, and not the red one in the picture. Amazon should update the picture. It seems to be quite durable so far, and is a tight fit. It took some stretching to get it on.

    Update: Jan 6,2014

Still holding up. Some minor scratches but no tears. Highly recommended.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersThis boot goes on snug with a “skin tight” fit. Manufactured of high density material with a heavy wall this boot will take a beating while protecting the titanium and synthetic portion of you Ingersoll Rand 2135Ti impact wrench. It has all the appropriate cut outs for routine maintenace and the torque and directional controls on the wrench. Must have this if your impact wrench is going to tossed around the shop.
