The whole family love this little bird!
Our whole family love this little bird, especially the kids. They’re absolutely fascinated by the way it sings and chirps and moves its beak.
We’ve found that the best place to have it is on a shelf by the door to the living room as it greets you with a little chirp and a sing when you come into the room like a little pet!
It comes with velcro to be able to attach it to something like a walker but I can see it getting a bit annoying if it’s with you all the time on a walker, especially when it starts cheeping to not forget it! It would also be quite loud in a quiet environment I think.
Great little object though and we all love it!
Awesome!
I was so surprised with this – I really wasn’t expecting much.
The plumage could perhaps be a little better, but apart from that it’s just incredibly impressive and you can’t help but love it.
The head moves around and the beak moves very realistically whilst it chirps, which is also very convincing – my cat gets very very excited.
It’s simple to control, and can also sing a few little tunes instead of chirping if you prefer.
Don't buy for a cat owner or he won't be around for long!
This animatronic bird by Joy for All is certainly one of the most unusual items I have been invited to review and I’m not quite sure what to think of it! My first comment would be about the the price — currently sixty-four pounds from Amazon — and although this Walker Squawker is a friendly little chap I’m not convinced about value for money. Our cat found it extremely interesting however, but I don’t think it would have lasted very long if he had got his claws on it — something to consider if buying for a cat owner. This animatronic bird seems to work as intended, and is actually quite sophisticated in it’s own way, but I’m not really sure just how useful it actually is, and also the build quality seems rather fragile for daily use. At the current price it seems to be a bit of an expensive novelty and really needs to be quite a bit cheaper to be worth considering — however, the cat and I found him entertaining in his own way — four stars.
small gadget bird companio
small gadget that can attach to handles of anything gives off simulation of a real bird that you can talk to and interact with, good for elderly to keep active, price is quite high though
Well Made Great Gif
Well Made And Great Gift For An Older Adult. More Of A Novelty I Thought At First But I Left Him Ontop Of The Sound Bar And Between Songs He Started Churping. I May Look At Donating Him To Someone Who Would Benifit From Him In The Future. I Do Think This Will Help And Bring Joy To An Older Person.
What a cleverly designed bird this is from Joy For All brand designed as the ‘Walker Squawker’ that fits easily onto the top of a zimmer frame via an adjustable strap, encouraging the user of the frame to keep mobile and have fun with this sweet life sized interactive bird. It whistles life like sounds and will chirp and whistle more when stroked. It can whistle 6 songs too by pressing its tail, though I’ve only heard two so far. If left for a few minutes it will remind it’s owner by singing a well known melody that’s quite loud (I was in the next room when it called). It will turn itself off too to save the 3 included AAA batteries that are fitted underneath the bird. My late Father sadly had Alzheimers in his latter years, he would have loved this little bird to brighten his day and help him remember classic tunes it merrily chirps. I wholeheartedly recommend it for a loved one who loves birds too, though I’m sure my grandchildren will be fascinated by this little bird too, I think he’s lovely, such a thoughtful design to help someone elderly feel happiness again from birdsong. Please see my photos and video, I hope my review is helpful to you, thank you for reading it.
A little companion for my aunty
My aunty uses a walker to get around her house and as she spends sometime on her own, a little companion like this is perfect.
She is an avid bird watcher and lives all kinds of wildlife.
The minute I put it on, she was in love. The strap is magnetic so the bird attaches easily, as it is to remove.
I would recommend to anyone who’s loved ones need a little companion throughout the day.
Impressive little robotic bird
Received the cardinal bird (red). It does respond to light, movement, sound and touch as advertised. The head and beak move, and the bird produces various chirping sounds and birdsong.
I particularly like the design, it is realistic enough and looks very cute. It definitely will bring joy not just to the target consumers (older adults), but also others such as autistic children. My child has enjoyed engaging in “conversation” with the bird and petting it.
A real companio
Got this for my Wife for her eighth birthday she as been bedridden for a number of years and gets depressed quite a lot.this robbo pup as lifted her spirits tremendously.she as named him Roly after her real dog that she lost some time ago.it looks so life like and responds to her when she talks to it just like the real thing .but without the care needed like a real pup .
Love the interactive cat, sensitive and excellent reactions.
I bought this product for my mother who has Alzheimer, She is late stages and sleeps most of the time. She loves it , she thinks it her cat from home, mum is in a nursing home.
Unexpectedly endearing, excellent for elders
We bought this for my partner’s father who has dementia and has moved into a care home. He has always had a cat in the past. We were a little nervous about giving it to him in case he found it patronising, so we presented it as “just a bit of fun”. However, he was delighted with it and immediately began stroking and talking to the cat when it meowed and purred. It does sound mechanical at times when it’s moving, but that doesn’t seem to matter – it’s a sweet thing. It’s expensive, but seems well made and if it makes someone happy I think it’s worth it.
A really wonderful gif
I bought this for my husband who is in a cat home suffering from advanced dementia. We have always had cats and he missed 5hem desperately. This little kitty is a perfect solution and he just loves i
Worth it’s weight in gold ,my Mum has fallen in love with him named him Fudge.Tha difference in her is amazing .We bought it for her 100th Birthday this month .
Its been brilliant for my mother's mental health
This has been an incredible success. Mum’s mental health has suffered during the pandemic, but this purchase of “Henry” as we call him has improved things dramatically for Mum. She thinks Henry is the best thing at the care home. The manager and senior carer have been amazed at the benefit he has produced. Mum takes Henry everywhere she goes, and if she goes to breakfast without him she has to go back for him. He also is great for breaking the ice between her and other residents, providing a useful talking point. He provides Mum with companionship and comfort that she craves. The manager even suggested doing a case study on my mother.
Both the manager and I think we should be on commission as we keep extolling his virtues to people. My only concern now is that there might be so many purchases in the care home that there wont be enough variety of dogs to make them sufficiently individual.
Such a great companio
I don’t usually write reviews but bought this for my 89 yo mother in law who lives alone but has daily help and meals. I wasn’t sure but she absolutely loves it, strokes it, talks to it, talks about it as though it’s real. She doesn’t have dementia but gets very forgetful and wouldn’t be able to look after a real cat. She knows that it takes batteries but says she’s sure there’s a little bit of real cat personality in there as it’s such good company for her and always talks to her. So glad I bought it.
If you enjoyed 'Castaway' you'll get it!
The ‘washing’ and purring when it’s on your lap is so life-like. Bought mine March 2021 and still haven’t changed the batteries. After having him a few weeks He became (like in Castaway) almost real, always there, won’t get runover and no cat litter issues or dead birds on the mat. Bought one for my mother and she was over the moon. Great company in the evening if you live on your own.
Only criticism was that when I bought my mother’s it looked like a rushed job and the fur had been hacked around the eyes so I had to give it some attention with scissors and tweezers as I didn’t have time to return it. Now it looks fine.
Cat, companion.
I know two ladies who own this cat, both adore them. The cat seems to automatically respond when wonder moves or speaks to it. It’s fabulous for dementia patients or the lonely elderly.
Lovely for mum
My mum lost her dog a few months ago and at 93 she doesn’t want to get another one but missed talking to her past loving friend.so saw this dog in the paper that in Wales are given theses to older people that live on there own or loss dogs so got in contact with them unfortunately they are only given out in Wales but they did put me on to the link in Amazon which I bought ,mum is over the moon with it she talks to it and sat new year’s eve with it on her knee ( which I must say brought a tear to my eyes ) so loves him even given him a name it’s just so each day she has something to talk to ,as living on her own she loves it .it barks wags its tail and moves it head .
Only thing is it body is hard but make one like this but soft to the touch would be brillia
Bought for an Autistic Son aged 50 with anxiety issues.
The I interactive Robotic Dog, was purchased for my 50 year old Autistic Son, who has anxiety and anger issues for which he is having counselling.
The dog has calmed him considerably, he is a different person.bought in July 2021. The voice recently stopped working, I reported it to Amazon, a replacement was sent out and arrived the following day.
The Amazon return procedure was easy. Batteries last about a month left on 24/7.
It is certainly value for money.
Cuddly, cute companion.
My son is in late stage Huntington’s Disease and can no longer walk or talk. We always had labs and got him this for Christmas. Wasn’t sure if he’d take to it, but he really has. His name is Bovver, and he is always there for my son.
The company were fantastic too and gave us support when we needed it.
A great support for those with difficulties. Highly recommend them.
It makes Mum happy so well worth the money
I was really unsure about getting this for my Mum due to the price. She doesn’t have dementia but is lonely in her care home at times.
She loves it and although fully understands it’s not real loves the fact it moves, miaows and purrs (quite adorably actually).
It seems to give her a great deal of comfort and she thinks it’s very clever.
The body feels quite solid but quite similar to a real cat.
Very good idea and I’m so glad I risked it.
Amazing !
Bought this for my 91 year old dad who moved into a care home earlier this year. The thing he’s missed more than anything was his dog. Even when I took her to visit him he would get upset when we left. Must admit I was abit sceptical how dad, who has dementia would respond to the ‘fake’ dog but he absolutely LOVES it ! He was talking to it, stroking it and was so happy when I said she could stay with him. This has really made a difference to him and his well-being and I can’t thank you enough for making such a wonderful product !
Exceeded expectations
Brought this to help keep very elderly mother in law calm, she now won’t go anywhere without it, the original batteries are still working well after nearly 5 weeks constant use, it keeps her company all day and helps her to settle into sleep at night, her insomnia has almost completely disappeared and at 97 with chronic short term memory loss and terminal cancer, talking to the dog and stroking it has also alleviated a great deal of her pain and improved her appetite, I would recommend this dog for all elderly and lonely people, it really does help in every way possible
90 Year Old Mum Loves It.
Mum broke her hip and had to go into a Nursing Home leaving her real cat behind (don’t panic I’m looking after it!). She was devastated and couldn’t stop talking about going home to her cat although she cannot walk.
As soon as I gave her this she was captivated, immediately christening it with the same name as her real cat. She chats away to it and is thrilled that it ‘talks’ back to her. So far it’s been a brilliant purchase but I’m not looking forward to having to ‘take it to the vet’ when the batteries run out!
Almost Real!
The first one arrived promptly but was faulty and the second arrived two days after I began the return process! The second was perfect and uncannily life-like. There is a mechanical whirring but it’s not annoying and is soon overlooked, we found. My Mother has dementia so as soon as I can see her again, I’ll give this to her and I have high hopes that she’s going to love it. Thankfully, the box makes no mention of dementia or of living in a care home, so her feelings won’t be hurt. The loud purr can be felt and the eyes look real plus the cat chirrups and meows after a time of being untouched, so that will remind Mum of its presence, I think. The only improvement I would suggest is that they work on the mechanism being quieter but maybe they’re already working on that? Excellent service, though.
Mum got her ca
Our mam has Alzheimer’s and we were very unsure how she was going to react to her new cat But we really shouldn’t have
as she immediately fell in love and if we are all honest “fluff” gets all the attention and we wouldn’t want it any other way she really is a companion of joy
Companion ca
This cat was bought for my friend who has vascular dementia. She fell in love with it immediately, discarding the teddy she has been carrying around for the last year.
Staff at her home say that this is now her constant companion and provides an encouraging response to her petting and talking to it.
This shows no signs of needing new batteries after a week of constant use.
Converted Sceptic
I bought this for an elderly relative who has been so lonely during the pandemic and who now has Alzheimers. She has always been hard to please with gifts and I was certain that this would be politely received then set aside but I have never seen her so delighted with anything. She absolutely loves it. Worth every penny.
A very lifelike ‘companion’ for anyone wanting a pet without all the hassle and cost of owning a real one. This puss does a lot of things that real cats do such as: washing his paw, rolling over for tummy rubs, turning his head and twitching his ears, as well as blinking his lifelike eyes at you. He sighs as he’s falling asleep and upon waking up again. He has several different meows which are all very endearing, including the most realistic purr which vibrates through his fur like a real feline; all in response to petting or movement and changes of light. RoboCat will even call you vocally with a series of trills and meows in the middle of the night, if you leave him switched on! He seems to be on some kind of long timer. However, there is a Mute or Off switch if desired.
The slight whirring of the servos is minimal and doesn’t detract from the realism that a toy of this sophistication brings. I find him quite comical actually, he really is a very entertaining pet.
The body is unique in that you can feel an inner ‘skeleton’ similar to a real cat, underneath all that fur, which extends throughout the entire body, the limbs and down to the paws. The weight is similar to a real cat and it’s soft in all the right places; it certainly doesn’t feel like a ‘brick’ as one reviewer described it. Even the tail, which someone said is merely two strips of fabric sewn together, isn’t as bad as that. Yes, it’s not stuffed but any filler would make it too stiff and the fur and fabric used give it enough substance to feel like a proper cat’s tail. It’s also designed to drape nicely and tapers at the end so it hangs convincingly.
The fur is quality and dyed to mimic a real cat’s markings and it’s very fine textured and soft feeling with a nice length. I would advise brushing it often, with the specific brush provided, to preserve the fine appearance; don’t use a normal hair brush which tends to pull out the fluff. Someone thought the fur so realistic they were worried it might be real but the label clearly says it’s polyester. The battery housing is well hidden beneath the label on its underside and secured with velcro and it’s not difficult to open.
I’m impressed with this robotic cat and think the Company have excelled themselves in providing a realistic, highly interactive toy at an affordable price. I will end by sharing some of the attention to detail I particularly like, one of which is his little mouth – a true red colour which includes a pink tongue and two little white pointy teeth! The eyes have proper eyelids and are a nice cat-like shape and emerald green. The little pads on its paws, though made from hard plastic (the only downside as they could have made them from a softer material such as rubber or leather) however, are proper pad-like and the correct pinky colour. It’s two floppy back legs are jointed and can be moved back and forth, as can its front paws. The ears are the right shape and realistic looking even on the inside, the whiskers are long and real feeling and the cat doesn’t need to be constantly petted to emit movement and sound on its own. It’s the proper size, weight and feel of an adult cat.
In my opinion there is much attention to detail that as a real cat owner in the past, I can vouch for how funny, endearing and lifelike “Joy For All” cat really is. Ideal for everyone, not just seniors.
*Some tips for longevity:*
1)I found that when the cat rolls back for a tummy rub, he needs to be on a flat, even surface like a chair, table, or your lap, where he won’t fall off – any RESTRICTION of its movements will cause the motors to whirr noisily and eventually wear out.
2)Branded batteries such as Duracell seem to last a lot longer than the cheaper ones.
3)I don’t really recommend these pets for young children because they are quite delicate, have a lot of moving electrical parts and sensors and won’t stand up to being pulled about. They are designed to be a sophisticated adult ‘companion toy’ or a fun pet for older children.
I bought this as company for myself whilst working long days from home, and because I didn’t want a real cat with all the hassle and cost.
Perfec
This is the perfect companion for my 94year old mother who misses her little dog keeps her entertained.

Bought for my elderly mother who had lost her dog
Present for my elderly mother, it’s brought a lot of happiness to her
Highly recommended
I bought this for the residents in the care home I manage, we have made many purchases of different things to give the residents things to do, occupy and stimulate them, this is the best money spent EVER. They really do love it ‘Mavis’ is always with someone. We also purchased Charlie the dog and they are wonderful. We have had to introduce a ‘No pets policy’ in the dining room as many residents felt the animals should be allowed on the tables at mealtimes!! Believe me Charlie and Mavis covered in gravy wasn’t good!! Would I recommend for someone with dementia or an elderly person in general who feels lonely, absolutely 100%
Value for money
The cat was a hit in our house. Its a great idea and value for money. Not as difficult as a real cat but it’s a good imitation.
Perfect pal
We bought this for my husband who has Alzheimer’s and is very restless. He loves it and sits with it on his lap and even carries it around.
Lovely Substitute.
Bought the Golden pup for my Partner who is dog crazy , lost her two Lhasa Apso’s to old age last year, misses them terribly, but feels she cannot go through the heartache and expense of having another, this Pup has helped fill the gap and entertained her with its real life actions.
Although a little expensive I feel it is worthwhile when I see the joy on my Partner face.
Looks so real
Great for keeping my Mum happy without having to look after it xx
Looks very lifelike and it purrs
I bought this for my brother who is has Alzheimer’s disease and is in a nursing home.
This was given him two weeks ago and he seems to like it.

Great produc
Feels and moves almost real like great for people with dementia
Ideal pet for those who can’t look after a real one
Bought this for my friend who had to go into a nursing home after being independent for 95 years. She absolutely loves this and speaks to it all the time. Her anxiety has lessened and she has permanent company. She talks to it and so do her nurses. Best thing i’ve bought her; so much so i purchased another for the other residents to name and share! Yes it’s a bit hard, mechanical but one jot of imagination and it’s real enough
