Double Handled Apple Press

This Easy Press Double Handled Press will arrive with 3 pulp bags absolutely free of charge. Pulp bags are used during pressing to contain any pulp or sediment from the pressing process. The bags are made from a durable netting which is easy to wash and can be used time after time to ensure you always get the best results.
To get the most juice out of your fruit/vegetables the press mechanism can be hand turned to squeeze out every last drop. Perfect for small batch
Bought this to try my hand at cider. Worked perfectly – I attached to a board that I then held in a workbench and the whole thing is super sturdy. No issues and got a really good yield out of the apples.

he unit needs to be screwed don to a worktop to make it usable.
The hopper needs to be filled quite full for it to work, or you need more pieces of wood to enable it to work

Compresses the pulp well
The press works really well as long as the pulp fed into it is sufficiently well broken down. To begin with I found that the wooden press spacers were not sufficiently deep to allow full press so I added a couple of lengths of 100×50 and with these in place the juices flowed out much bette
Mash before pressing
Smaller than it looks, but plenty of room for first timers – just remember to mash you apples before you press them! Fairly straightforward to assemble. Mesh bags work fine. Have extra wood blocks ready to add height to the press.
Great product but get a pulper too
Great product . Easy to assemble – even though i lost the instructions. Looks great too. Definitely get a pulper to go with it and save yourself some work.

Great product, it comes in many pieces that need assembling (including screwing the slats in place on the metal bands) but it’s no great difficulty.
As other people have mentioned, unless you are completely filling the press with fruit, you will need some extra blocks to help push the press all the way down – any old bits of wood should suffice.
Other than that it certainly does its job, I’ve nothing to compare to but as a first time fruit crusher I had no problems at all.
Effective
Once assembled the press works well. At the price I wasn’t expecting to have to fit the slats to the hoops. It’s not difficult but putting in 50 screws takes a while! A bucket full of scratted windfall apples made about 4 pints of delicious juice. Scratting the apples to make a pulp is essential to the pressing process. You won’t get much juice by just chopping the apples.
I managed to press 250 litres of juice single handed in two days. The secret is to make sure it is screwed down, I used an old pallet which gave height to to fit a bucket under the spout and I could stand on the pallet to make it stable. Downside the blocks that come with it are much too small and would only press about 15 to 20% of the potential juice but 4 bits of 3×2 meant I got as much as possible with a manual press.
I would have given this 5 stars but for the fact that, as mentioned in previous reviews, you do need extra pieces of wood to allow you to press the fruit fully. With only two blocks the press does not go down far enough. Other than that the press worked well and the apple juice tasted great!

Arrived on time. Only downside is the stainless steel screws to assemble were missing. Had to chase the supplier to send these on which took a week. Press works very well and just made a batch of cider and it really juiced the apple pulp nicely. Well worth the money. Would recommend

Whilst it does the job I hadn’t appreciated that I would need to bolt to a base to hold it steady whilst using, so a little inconvenient.
