Easy to use, fast charging. Can cut front & back garden and still have lots of life in the battery. Would definately recommend.

I bought this as a replacement for a similar Bosch mower that was 6-7 years old and was life-expired. The battery life is far better than the old mower ever was as technology has clearly moved on over the years. The mower is quite light and easy to use. The height adjustment is super easy compared to my old mower. I like the little flap indicator on the grass box that tells you when it is full too. The rear roller, as well as making stripes in the lawn, makes it easier to negotiate lawn edges without dropping a wheel into the flower bed. Overall, a good mower that makes the chore of mowing the lawn (slightly) more pleasurable!

After owning an electric & petrol lawnmowers, this was best for me by far, no more leads to mess with, or petrol & oil etc.. this lawnmower has made my life so much easier, pop in the batteries & off i go, its quick & cuts the grass lovely, even wet grass.
I have also bought the leaf blower & strimmer in this make, so i can swap the batteries about.
    one very happy customer.x

5.0 out of 5 stars makes it a dream to use

I bought this lawnmower as a replacement for an ageing petrol mower and I wanted one with a rear roller and my first impressions are that it is pretty good. It is much lighter to handle & came with a proper Instruction Manual . It runs on two 24volt batteries (4 are supplied) and it easily cut our medium sized lawn on the first 2. I was pleased with it’s power. Being lighter naturally makes it less robust and if you were to keep hitting stones the blade might suffer but I ‘ve had no problems so far by clearing odd obstructions before I start. Maintenance , cleaning, is easier as I can just turn the machine over ( without batteries of course) . My initial verdict is that it is better than I expected

Easy to use and light compared to my old petrol mower. Had to wait a few days for the rain to stop before I could use, as the grass was getting rather long. Coped perfectly well with long grass, mowed all my lawns and the battery pack only used 50% of the charge, so never needed the second set which I had on charge.
Cuts well, rear roller leaves stripes, and is useful when cutting over the edge of borders.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI received the lawnmower in mid Dececember 22. However due to other commitments I was unable to assemble and test the mower until beginning of February 23. Assembly was very simple. Batteries were charged and placed in the mower. Every thing looked fine until I tried to start the machine. There was no power to the motor. Checked the troubleshooting guide in the provided manual and everything was fine. Batteries fully charged and installed correctly. Safety Key installed properly. But the engine would not start. I presume I have been sold a faulty machine which I am unable to return because the return window closed on 31st January 23. More fool me for not checking. I will not be caught twice.
    Update:
I managed to contact the UK importer of the mower Cleva UK at the beginning of February 23. They were extremely helpful in resolving my problem and issued me with a replacement. I have assembled and tested the new mower and I am pleased to confirm that it works. I hope it will provide me with several years of reliable service despite my initial problems.

Having 4 batteries is a bonus. The machine cuts well, even wet grass. Too heavy for my wife to push. Would recommend for its cutting power but quite a heavy mower to use.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersTime I reviewed this after a summer and autumn of use.

I have had several mowers over the years , most of them pretty good . This however is without doubt the best one. I swithered about going for a battery mower due to the large size of my lawn however the
Lawnmaster has excellent battery life. I also got the couple of extra ones so I can charge them ready for use. 450 square meters of grass and it will do that at least twice before changing batteries. Takes a fair bit less than an hour to charge them fully.

The cut is good, stripes are well defined with the roller and although fairly big the mower is quite light and fairly easy to manoeuvre. Only very slight negative is the mower box/container is a bit flimsy but works absolutely fine , that’s after 7 months heavy use.

    Excellent product and highly recommended.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis is my updated review of the LawnMaster 48v cordless lawnmower. I wrote my initial review after the first couple of months of ownership when it was still new, but I thought I’d update it now that the mowing season is over and I’ve had more time with it.

For many years, at least ten, I’ve been a big advocate of Bosch garden power tools. We have their lawnmower, hedge trimmer, scarifier, shredder and chainsaw. The lawnmower and hedge trimmers especially have been superb, dealing with our 250 sq metres of lawns and approx. 60m of hedges.

Until this year, when in the space of about 3 weeks both Bosch Rotak lawnmower and top-of-the-line Bosch AHS hedge trimmer died on me. We have the size of garden where petrol powered tools may be common, but I’ve never gotten on with them, being a hassle to maintain and service. However, the restrictions on being tied to a cable and multiple socket extensions has grown tiresome so I wanted to move away from electric and investigate whether battery-powered tools had developed to a suitable level. I actually used to work for a leading power tool company that sold one of the pioneering cordless lawnmowers and the claim of what it could do to what it actually did was borderline comical. Thankfully, we’ve come along way since then.

There’s a huge amount of choice today. Type “cordless lawnmower” into Amazon and brace yourself. Where do you start? I spent two weeks reading reviews on Amazon and various other sources, watching YouTube videos, and understanding what I wanted and what I needed.

The majority of the lawnmowers I looked at offered very similar features, and ultimately it came down to a few considerations. The size/capacity of the battery/batteries was obviously a major item. After two weeks of research I’d narrowed my selection down to a Murray 36v 5 amp hour mower, and the LawnMaster 48v 4 amp hour mower. The Murray perhaps had more grunt, but only came with two 18v batteries both of which are in the machine at the same time. You’d need to stand down while you charged them up again, and the running time claim didn’t seem particularly high. The LawnMaster, on the other hand, came with four 24v batteries. So, while two of those batteries were powering the mower you can charge the others up in the quick charger and effectively have continuous mowing.

Added to that, the LawnMaster also has a rear roller. Not everyone is bothered about that, but my Bosch had a roller and I quite like having the feature. As well as a stripey lawn you can see where you’ve just mowed. So, I went with the LawnMaster.

The mower arrived in a compact cardboard box, smaller than I was expecting. Assembly was a only a few minutes, although trying to attach the handles might benefit having a second pair of hands to hold it in place. The grass collection box was a bit fiddly to put together, and it takes a little practice to fit it to the back of the mower. The mower comes with a mulching adapter should you prefer to discharge the grass cuttings back onto the grass rather than collect them, which is a nice touch.

The mower stores away in to a compact size when not in use, however this leads me to one of my criticisms. The orange quick-release levers aren’t really that quick release. It’s just a large wing nut, basically, which you need to unscrew before the handles fold away. I pinched the quick release levers off of the deceased Bosch mower which work so much more efficiently. It would be a recommendation to the manufacturer to revisit those.

To operate the mower you’ll need to insert two of the four 24v batteries. To do this you lift the battery cover on the main body of the mower, and in there you’ll also find a key that needs to be inserted to allow the mower to operate. The key is a bid fiddly to insert if I’m honest, but the batteries are easy to insert and remove. One thing that did bug me was that when the handles are folded down you can’t open the battery compartment. It might seem trivial, you’ll want to access the batteries to remove them and put them on charge when you return the mower to your shed/garage, and the handle stops you doing this.

You operate the mower by pressing the orange button on the side of the handle and then pulling on the lever under the handle. One the mower powers up you can release the orange button on the side.

The mower isn’t self-propelled, but it doesn’t need to be. It’s lightweight and easy to manoeuvre. It’s surprisingly light, in fact, even with the batteries fitted. And, without a trailing electric power cable, you fly through cutting your lawn. It’s almost a pleasant experience mowing the lawn.

You can check up on the status of the battery charge by pressing a button on the handle. It’ll indicate how much power is left. The mower itself is very efficient as it alters the power of the motor as the density of the grass changes. There is a minor delay before the mower realises it’s in heavier grass, but not excessively.

The grass collection box holds a good volume of cuttings, although being semi-rigid it can be a little awkward to fit at times. On the whole I think it works okay though.

Update after the first mowing season

After the first couple of month of use I was very impressed. Would I still be impressed after the entire mowing season? Well, I’ve just done what I think will be the last cut of the year and I’ve got to say I’m probably even more enthusiastic about the LawnMaster than I was when I first had it.

It has no problem at all cutting all of our lawns, and can do so twice on a single charge without issue. The removal of the power cable is revolutionary, it really is. It used to be such a hassle getting power to the front garden through a couple of gates, but now I just wheel the mower around, cut, and go. If I see a window of opportunity, like last night in the brief window between the grass being dry enough to mow and darkness falling, I can run out and quickly run up and down the garden. I don’t even let go of the power button until the collector needs emptying. No tripping over wires, you just go for it. An hour-long task is halved, it really is.

Given the capacity of the batteries, the fact that you get four of them and two 1hr fast charges, I think the price of the mower presents extremely good value. While I think that the plastics used aren’t perhaps quite at the premium standard that my old Bosch gave, they’re still very good. Aside from a couple of minor elements that a small rethink on the design could fix, I believe that fundamentally this is an exceptional mower. The metal reinforcement that holds the grass collection box rigid does frequently pop out, but it’s a quick re-adjustment. Do I regret buying it? Not at all. Would I buy it again? Without hesitation.

I was sceptical about cordless mowing, but after the first mowing season it's now a no-brainer.

I bought this to replace a self-powered petrol beast and having read loads of reviews on other makes, went for this one because of the two powerful batteries.
I’ve just done the first cut – on the lowest setting – and it is perfect. It is light and manoeuvrable (more than a thought it would be for a push mower). At one stage it did start to spit grass from the left side, but that was because I’d ignored the vent flap on the basket that indicates that the basket it full — and it was!
And you can hear the motor increase power when a long patch of grass is hit.
My lawn is about 200sqm and the two batteries were only about half done when I’d finished — so having 4 batteries is complete over-kill but I wanted to play safe and I wanted the wider cut.
    So I can’t fault it — why didn’t I do this before?

Product arrived promptly through Amazon’s excellent delivery service. After using petrol mower and plug in this cordless has revolutionised the tast. Never used more than half the charge on the batteries to cut my lawn. Light and easy fold away and carry, easily the best garden product I have brought this year.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI have just moved into a new house with a big lawn. Looked at petrol mowers but tried battery as it is low maintenance and no fuel to worry about. I was a little sceptical at first but I have to say it has really surprised me! The auto power setting means you only use the power you need. My grass was a good 3″ high and it cut it mostly on the middle power setting, which meant I did early my whole lawn on the first two batteries!
This mower is as good as a petrol when it comes to cutting big lawns but with out the petrol engine, and it’s lighter as well!
Best choice I could have made.

If you have a corded lawn mower still then get rid, this has saved me soooo much time as I don’t have to faff around with a cable anymore.

Great lawn mower for large gardens, only downside is my clippings box handle came broken which is actually more bothersome than I first thought but overall the mowing is fine.

This is an excellent purchase. Simple to put together, easy to operate and for our Garden which isn’t that large but not exactly small, it works perfectly. Does a great job cutting the grass no complaints there. The only thing I wish I had known is that the plastic shield that sits inside where the Grass is ejected, needs to be removed before you attach the Grass holder lol. I mowed the whole lawn, and without realising was just spreading it all around. It looks like it should stay in place, but you need to remove it first ! Other than that fantastic and wish I had bought one sooner.

A little bit on the cheap plastic look, feel side, but does the job. Because the plastics feel cheap, I’m not sure how robust it is and how long it will last, but it certainly does the job for now. The battery power lasts ages and cuts my large lawn area easily with power to spare. No more fumes in my face, much less noise, no refuelling and servicing every year, no journey’s to the petrol station etc. This is defiantly a turning point where the batteries last long enough and the prices have dropped enough to justify buying a battery mower, although the larger sit-on battery mowers are still nearly double the price of petrol sit-on mowers!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersHave used this on numerous occasions since purchase and so glad I opted for a cordless one as it has cut mowing time down by at least 20 minutes. We have a large back lawn and a smaller front one and there is still some battery charge left after cutting both on just one set of batteries. Highly recommended and it comes with a two year guarantee.

This mower was really very straightforward to get together and going from the box. The batteries don’t take too long to charge and the mower surprised me in terms of how powerful it is. It does a really nice job on a smaller area of lawn and the grass looks really good. It is easy to change the height setting depending on your needs. It is also quite quiet to use. Overall I am impressed and really pleased with the mower.

    Would recommend.

This mower to me offers the best of both worlds. I always hated electric mowers for the need of extension leads and the faff that came with it, but I liked the fact that they just turn on and work. Petrol powered mowers were always expensive and required much more maintenance but using one was always a joy as I never had to worry about cables any more. To me this mower is the best balance with 4 batteries and 2 chargers I never run out of power before the job is done. Assembly wasn’t bad but I did have to pause a few times to figure things out, the manual could be just a tiny bit clearer. But I was in a rush and distracted so it could be just me. The mower requires 2 batteries to run so having 4 is great especially that you get 2 chargers in the box! I like that there is a breaker key to disable the motor completely which adds to safety. Everything else is pretty much standard: you can adjust the handle to your hight, adjust the cutting hight – advised to start on higher first. You get a grass collector bag, but you don’t have to use it. It’s about the same size as all the others – so it fills up quickly but leaves the garden tidy. I found the automatic setting on the mower to be adequate for my needs but you can override the settings and choose between: max power or max battery life if you wish to. Speaking of battery life, when I first used it the batteries were about 50% all 4 of them, and I know I should have charged them up first but I was in a rush as we were just moving to a new place and the grass was as tall as on the savannah, so I didn’t wait. I managed to mowe the grass nicely everywhere but I had to change the batteries halfway through. Still thanks to the generous batteries and chargers I was able to do this without a problem. I’m sure with 100% batteries and shorter grass it could go on for much longer. Battery level indicators are available on the batteries as well as on the handles, so it’s always easy to check. Noise levels seem to be the same as any other electric ones and I find 41 cm diameter to be good enough for most homes. All in all very happy with the product and it’s highly recommended.

As a lady in her old age, I can say that this was easy to assemble . It is heavier than my previous corded mower, and slightly less manoeuvrable because of this. On the plus side it is a pleasure not to have to bother with a cable it charged up in an hour, cut my uneven and mid length large lawn, and all with out having to change the batteries. We’ll pleased so far.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThe review below was written by my wife as she is the keener gardener & was the user…as no pic of the underside/blade is present in the sellers description..I’ve uploaded one….& it’s certainly a decent width. Having two chargers included so you can effortlessly keep a second set of batteries on the go when needed is well thought out. Not having heard of this brand before I did wonder how easy it would be to replace parts….but I did go to their website & did find parts were available for various items they produce. I will say the wife was absolutely taken aback by how well this mower performed..& also on comparison to what she’s used to…a corded hover mower..just a little on the heavier side. And just in case you do what we did..ie…bypass some of the instructions & try to get it started with no success…..the side button at the top side of the handle needs to be pressed in while you first pull the main lever down 😉 ..anyway…onto the wife….

It was fairly straightforward to assemble. It’s heavy and quite bulky but still quite easy to manoeuvre, even over uneven ground. I usually use a hover mower so obviously the weight was a big change and I did find it a little cumbersome at first. I just used it to cut my daughter’s VERY overgrown garden, it absolutely smashed it! Using it on the highest setting I expected the cut to still be fairly long, it was actually short! It cut the labour time down immensely, normally it would take a couple of hours to get that level of work but I did it in around half of the time! The battery lasted longer than the job. I could hear the change in power as I moved from longer grass to short and vice versa, but there was no deterioration in performance. The grass collector was great, it stayed put during use and has a massive capacity. It was easy to take off and empty and just as easy to replace. I really like the child safety feature of the pin to stop function, a simple thing but potentially invaluable. The blade is so big that it took so much of the effort out of mowing the grass. It was easy to clean after use. The folding action of the handle made it easy to transport in the boot of my car, also better for storage. The cordless function made it so easy to get around the children’s play equipment without getting tangled up. I really liked this mower, I’ll just have to get used to the weight.

Excellent cutting power quite heavy though

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI’ve owned a pretty decent cordless mower before, as well as a petrol mower. The petrol mower wasn’t for me, too much maintenance and messing about and the other cordless mower was great, but my parents borrowed it frequently and we ended up sharing it between us, so when I had the chance to pick up this one, I jumped on it!

There is a small amount of assembly required out of the box, but you can do it all with a single pair of hands and no tools are required, it’s just a matter of popping the two-piece handle together and screwing some bolts in. Whilst you’re doing that, you can set the handle’s length and angle too, which is nice. It is easily adjustable later too, but it’s good that you can familiarise yourself with the flexibility right away. Once assembled, it’s just a matter of inserting the safety key, a good feature to have if you have kids or want to do some work on the blades, and get charged up and you’re good to go. Charging is fast enough, it took me about an hour to fully charge the batteries, which I thought was pretty good, especially as you only need two batteries at one time, so you basically can pop the spares on the shelf until you need them. The fact that you get two chargers to charge all four batteries at once was impressive and I thought an excellent bit of value. You also get a grass catcher and mulching plug in the box, truthfully I’ve never tried mulching, but I may do it now I have the option. The grass catcher is a folding design with mesh sides and a solid top and bottom that can fold down completely flat when not in use.

My lawns probably equal about 300ish square meters together, so I figured that’s not a bad test. The weather has been dry lately, so the grass wasn’t overly challenging, but it’s still early spring so it wasn’t easy really, either. This new mower made short work of it, with energy to spare. The two original batteries lasted plenty of time for me to do both lawns, as did the grass catcher, which only needed emptying once between lawns and probably I could’ve squeezed more in if I’d tried. The batteries last about 45 minutes and still had about 10% left judging by the battery meter, which was clear and easy to read. I think you could easily go through a pretty huge lawn, say up to about 800 square meters if you start with all four batteries charged. I’d imagine that is overkill for most people, which is great news.

It is a push mower, meaning it doesn’t drive itself, but it isn’t heavy and is pretty easy to manoeuvre despite its big cutting size. I’m not a big guy, 5′ 8″ and as fit as your average desk worker so if I am okay with it then I think most people will get on with it just fine. The cut to edge feature largely works, I found it did leave a few stragglers around my planter, so if you’re particularly anal you may find going back around any really tight edges with a strimmer beneficial, but in the most part, it works well cutting right up against anything.

Truthfully, this mower is probably over the top for my lawn and I could have got away with a smaller model, but at the same time, this just ate my lawns for breakfast, so I’m chuffed with it. It has an excellent feature set, with a comfortable, adjustable handle and good, solid depth adjustment that stays put even in use on bumpier sections of grass. The battery life is excellent and getting two chargers in the box is really convenient and removes some of the worry of using a battery device, especially given how long a pair of batteries seemed to last me. I honestly think this is an excellent mower and though it is quite expensive, is good value for money when you consider the competition and amount of features and everything that’s included in the box.
