I ordered this for my daughter as she just got a switch lite for Christmas and she loved the nintendogs on 3ds.

She told me it has more or less same gameplay but not quite the same feel she got when she plays Nintendogs.
But is ok to play, for casual gamers or anyone looking for a laid-back game for switch.

What is the game about?
Well, you start with adopting your first dog. You need to care about it like for a real pet, including providing food and drink, cleaning, playing with, taking for a walk or even attending various competitions.
After a while, several levels up, you get the access to cats.
Graphics wise — well, this game is not a “Crisis” or “The Witcher 3”. Don’t expect jaw dropping moments. Graphics can be described as good. It is definitely sufficient for the game of this type, especially for a child. Pets are super cute, fairly detailed, you can easily see the differences between breeds offered.
Is it a game for everyone?
No, if you are a fan of fast-paced action games and you fall asleep with anything requiring patience and leveling up.
Yes, if you prefer calm entertainment, leveling up and like spending quite a lot of time with such games.
Yes, if you are going to get a family pet and want to teach your children to care about a dog or cat in safe environment. You can then check the progress made by children and see what are they focused on and what should they think about the next time.
Good, enjoyable game for every pet fan, owner or owner-to-be.

Nostalgia value 10/10
It’s not quite the same as Nintendogs but tbh I only bought it for the nostalgia and it certainly delivers. Good game for children teaching them the things involved when taking care of pets and an easy game that doesn’t require a lot of concentration by adults
If you are looking to get the same as nintendogs from DS you might be a little disappointed.. You can’t call your pet by its name or help the dog learn new tricks..
However it is a very addictive game and if you can’t have pets this is a great alternative.

I actually really like this game and am still playing it week’s later. It doesn’t actually have much content but I find it super cute and there was clearly a decent effort put in by a small developer. It’s more charming than quality, I would say, but that counts for something to me.
Honestly only bought this for myself, i used to love playing nintendogs so i tried to urge my 3 year old to ask for it, so i had a reason to buy, he’s 3 and i found it was hard for him to use when plugged into tv, but handheld was easier for him.
but i absolutely love it!!!

This is a very adorable and simplistic game. It’s good for passing the time. If you played Nintendogs in the past and loved that, then this game will be right up your alley. It has some improvements to Nintendogs (imo) – money is easier to earn, and longer walks with goals to achieve. The downside is that there’s not much to actually do. You can take your dogs for walks, you can play fetch with the dogs and cats in the house, do the tournaments, but not much else. Yes, you can save and buy accessories, but you don’t need to. Of course, this is true to the experience of owning a pet. And the breed options are limited. You have 3 cat types to get, and about 5-6 dog types, so it’s not much variety, especially if your favourite breeds aren’t there. That being said, I enjoy the game. It’s sweet, cute, easy to play, and good for whiling away the time.
I cannot express enough how much I LOVE this game! My boyfriend got it me as he knows I’m a big animal lover! As a child I loved playing nintendogs on my ds. Little friends has the same concept as nintendogs but it is not nintendogs (there are similarities and differences between the 2) this could be because both games were made my different companies so they’re obviously not going to be the same (which stresses me when people are disappointed with this game because it’s “not nintendogs” that’s because it isn’t! It’s just a very similar concept) the only thing I can say about this game that I would like to see change is the daily limit for levelling up your friendship level with your animals as you can only level up by so much each day, would be better if there was no limit at all. Overall very pleased with this game! Very easy to get money in the game to buy food, clothing, toy, furniture etc. If you’re obsessed with cats and/or dogs then this is the game for you! Also I’m 20 years old and I’m loving it very much
