DGA517Z 18V Li-ion LXT Brushless 125mm Angle Grinder – No batteries included
The DGA517Z cordless Angle Grinder is powered by 18V Li-ion slide type battery (not included), with soft start for smooth start-ups and variable speed control to match the speed to the application, to deliver up to 8,500 rpm. The brushless motor eliminates carbon brushes, enabling the motor to run cooler and more efficiently for longer life, and optimises battery energy use for up to 50 per cent longer run time per charge. Soft grip for user’s increased comfort and control on the job.
The Angle Grinder is equipped with a large paddle switch for user convenience, anti-restart to prevent motor start up when the battery is inserted with the switch locked on and electronic current limiter for overload protection.
3 stage Battery Fuel Gauge to show battery charge level, overheating and overload. Charge level – the power remaining in the battery can be indicated in 3 stages simply by pushing a button. 3 lights on for more than 50 per cent of full battery capacity, 2 lights on for 20 to 50 per cent of full battery capacity and 1 light on for less than 20 per cent of full battery capacity. Overheating – the gauge will blink to warn against overheating and Overload – when the protection system works repeatedly due to overload, the tool will lock.
The DGA517 features:
Automatic Torque Drive Technology (ADT): automatically changes the cutting speed according to the load condition for an optimum operation.
Active Feedback Sensing Technology (AFT): shuts down the tool to protect the user if the rotation speed suddenly slows down.

Grund fr dieses (doch sehr teure) Modell war der Paddelschalter. Von vielen gehasst und von mir geliebt. Wenn man sich erstmal an diesen Schalter gewhnt hat, kommt einen der Schiebeschalter schon etwas altertmlich vor. Ich finde ihn super und mchte ihn nicht mehr missen. Der groe Dauertest steht zwar noch aus, aber behindert hat mich dieser Schalter noch nicht.
Von der Leistung bin ich begeistert. Vor allem beim Umstieg vom Billiggert zu diesem Teil. Keine Ahnung, warum ich da nicht schon frher upgegradet hab.
Der einzige (optische) Makel ist meines Erachtens das klobige Endstck, an dem der Akku befestigt wird. Nichts desto trotz fhlt es sich nicht strend an.

Er ist sehr handlich und bedienfreundlich einfach ein super starkes Akku Gert TOP!
Beste Akkuflex die ich je hatte, mit Paddelschalter und Schutzkappe. Bin sehr zufrieden mir dieser Flex, der 5Ah Akku hlt recht lange, die Flex ist krftig, leicht zu Hndeln und der Paddelschalter ist die Wucht, gibt ein Gefhl von echter Sicherheit. Aufpassen muss man, wie bei jeder Flex, trotzdem.

Das Gert ist sehr stark. Luft extrem wenig nach, wenn man den Pendelschalter loslsst. Durch den Akku gut ausbalanciert. Der Pendelschalter ist fr mich neu und bin davon positiv berrascht. Die Lautstrke ist ok. Habe damit Marmor geschnitten. Ohne Probleme.
Preis-/Leistung ok.
Der 517 erfllt voll meine Erwartungen, liegt sehr gut ausbalanciert in der Hand. Totmannschalter und Drehzahlregelung waren fr den Kauf entscheidend Kriterien.
Bei der Gesamtbetrachtung ist der 517 der hochwertigste von den 3 Gerten. Zu empfehlen sind Akkus mit 5 Ah.
Der Winkelschleifer wird bei mir hauptschlich in der Holzbearbeitung zum groben Schleifen mit Fcherscheiben eingesetzt. Nur fr diesen Einsatz im Bereich Holz sind die Sicherheitseinrichtungen demontiert. Fr die Metallbearbeitung sind diese zwingend zu verwenden, wenn das Werkzeug als Flex eingesetzt wird.
Das Produkt kann ich weiterempfehlen.
Immer auf der Baustelle dabei,Akku hlt stand,am Anfang leicht ungewohnt da die Flex relativ lang mit Akku ist aber dennoch nicht unhandlich und schwer,mcht ich nicht mehr missen..
Gutes Gert von Makita! Man muss nur bedenken wofr man es bentigt. Ersetzt nicht die Flex bei stundenlangem schneiden von Legeplatten ect. aber erfllt den absolut den Zweck fr zeitweises arbeiten!

Der Winkelschleifer von Makita macht einen Super Eindruck, lsst sich sehr gut bedienen und durch den Tot Mann Schalter ist sie auch sehr sicher.
Der Akku hlt fr meine kleinen arbeiten aus, habe aber auch noch ein paar Ersatzakkus.
Was mir auch gut gefllt sind die verschiedenen Geschwindigkeitsstufen, welche natrlich auch den Akku schonen.
Die Flex ist nicht zu schwer und liegt gut in der Hand.
Verarbeitung ist Makita Typisch sehr gut.

Ich habe lange mit mir gekmpft, lieber Strom aus der Steckdose fr den Winkelschleifer oder doch ein Winkelschleifer mit AKKU? JA, ich habe mich richtig entschieden fr einen AKKU Winkelschleifer. Das Gert ist handlich und die Leistung genial (ein 5 Ah Akku sollte man aber schon benutzen). Keine Einschrnkungen, nur Vorteile. Gut ist auch die Drehzahlregelung beim DGA517Z.
Htte mir die Akku-Flex schon frher zulegen sollen.
Den “Totmann-Schalter” finde ich genial. Maschine kommt schnell zum Stillstand und trgt somit zur Sicherheit bei.

Ich habe erst berlegt wegen den Paddelschalter ob der nicht strt aber ich muss sagen es lsst sich richtig gut damit arbeiten.
Habe schon einige male damit gearbeitet Stangen weg geflext oder auch gut mal damit zu schleifen mit einer Fcherscheibe.
Das Teil hat wirklich gut Power und kann auch einer Kabel Flex mithalten.
Eine klare Kaufempfehlung.
Wrde ich jederzeit wieder kaufen.
Die nchsten makita Gerte sind auch schon geplant.

Wie gewohnte gute Makita Qualitt. Selbst mit einer Steinscheibe kann man ohne Probleme Schlitze in Mauerwerk schneiden. Und auch sonst arbeiten funktionieren ohne Probleme. Jedoch sollte man groe Akkus haben, da die kleinen zu schnell leer werden.

Anfangs gab es leider ein Problem mit gls bei der Lieferung durch der Hndler kmmerte sich sofort und letztendlich ging alles gut. Maschine ist top und das Preis-Leistungsverhltnis pass

Havent purchast many grinders, but for me it was suprise that it worked counter clockwise. I have used many grinders before (cheaper ones with cable), but non of them worked counter clockwise. When doing simple work it is very anoying. Otherwise good quality tool.
Kann das Teil nur weiter Empfehlen. Fiedelt alles durch Und hlt auch ziemlich lange ( 5000 Akku) An den Schalter gewhnt man sich. Sehr gut Ausbalanciert liegt gut in der Hand. Ein muss fr jede Baustelle !
Sicher ist das z. T. auch dem fehlenden Netzkabel zu verdanken.
einfach nur toll wenn man fr ein paar Schnitte nicht gleich Kabel verlegen muss und genug Leistung vorhanden ist.

Habe wirklich lange wegen dem Paddleschalter berlegt, ist aber wirklich super zum halten und gibt ein gutes Sicherheitsgefhl. Den Stecker kann man ja schlecht ziehen falls der Winkelschleifer mal zu Boden fllt.
Maschine an sich wie die meisten von Makita einfach Top!!!

Needed a new angle grinder, and trust makita as a brand so went for this one as it is more efficient on battery life due to a brushless motor. Have only tested it so far, but first impressions are great! Also many thanks to the supplier who managed to get it to me from Germany in 3 days.

I was very torn before I bought this.
I’d only ever used angle grinders with the traditional flip on/off switch, so I really wasn’t sure whether to go for that, or this the paddle switch.
2 years on I’m glad I chose the paddle switch version.
Yes, there are occasions where I would have preferred the old type, but many more occasions when I’m so glad I have the immediate response of the paddle in my hand.
It does take a little getting used to, but once you are, it just feels so much more natural.
Because of the job they do, angle grinders tend to be very power hungry, so I only use this with a 5Ah battery. (A 4Ah is fine, but to really useful, I wouldn’t go lower than that.)
Even then, even with a brushless motor, you rarely get more than 20 minutes hard work, so best to always have a spare ready.
