Got it for my plunge saw and it works fantastic
Suction power is great good price and the noise level is good like the way it turns on when you turn on the power tool fantastic bit of kit thank you

    Well made, thoughtful features
After researching the usual suspects for a workshop vaccum, found this Makita. Although advertised here as a “dust extractor” it is also a wet/dry vac. Cost little more than I was budgeting for, but much less than the Bosch professional/Fein/Festool ranges. It appears to be well made, my only concern is that the clamps holding head to drum look a little flimsy. Suction is good, and, unlike some, is always 100% when used with a power tool. My previous now expired Nilfisk, would slow right down when used with a sander on a slow speed. It comes with a fleece dust bag, “bin liner” to line the drum, and the usual internal filter. A float is included to shut off if overfilled when wet. Cable is long- 7.5M, and very good quality flex. Could be argued too long! Hose is 4M. Loads of tools and fittings supplied for cleaning and connecting to power tools. Also, hose taper fit to drum is same as Nilfisk, so I keep that hose connected to a mitre saw. Unusally for tools of this type/price, spare parts are available as is , with registration a 3 year warranty.

Great products well worth the money
Grey product has good suction and if you attach a DeWalt hoover hose kit to the Hoover you can use all the DeWalt tools and changeover tools with the accessories in seconds which is well worth the money on a busy work site or workshop

Best site hoover I’ve ever had.
This is a truly excellent site Hoover. Massive capacity, very good suction, auto filter clean function (excellent in itself). I have bought numerous alternative brand wet/dry hoovers (think yellow!) and become frustrated using them with or without bags and unblocking then etc…. this smashes them out of the park and all for under 200 quid? If you want a strong durable reliable hoover that can be abused on site or at home in the most demanding conditions, this is the one.

    Great machine
Plenty of power and a good, long hose. Don’t bother with the paper filter on its own – it gets blocked up too quickly. Use the bag, it’s huge. I mainly use it with power-tools so the auto-switch function is perfect.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersExcellent extractor but.........
Purchased this extractor because my previous 25 year old Hitachi one finally gave up after many years of trouble free use in a professional capacity and I also like Makita tools. I’m semi retired now and my main use for this is dust extraction on power tools in my workshop and house I’m renovating and didn’t want to spend a fortune. The deal offered with Amazon Prime was to good to miss. One excellent point is that it connects to all my tools without having to adapt anything but you do need to discover its clever little quirks on the hose end, bits which unscrew and adjust. The hose and mains cable are very long which is a plus, the provided tools are ok but a little on the “cheap” side but do the job, nozzle, brush, floor brush and upholstery brush. The extractor has storage built in for all these but I found they got in the way so store them separately. The power take off and on/off switch are simple and accessible easily. Its quieter than my old Hitachi and acceptable noise wise. The overrun on tool switch off could be a little longer.
Here is my only but quite important negative, filtration. My Hitachi had the choice a nylon type “bag” like filter or cartridge. The bag was not for collection but acted as a filter to use with or without the cartridge and was very efficient and easily cleaned in a couple of minutes, this was ideal for dust from sanding or cutting MDF. The cartridge filter is not really suitable for fine dust as it clogs very quickly and takes ages to clean which is a very messy job, mask needed. I thought the Makita had a similar system but unfortunately not, the bag was for collection use and not cleanable as such. I am currently machining a lot of MDF and the cartridge filter blocks very quickly, to overcome this I have to connect the extractor to a Triton DCA300 bucket system I have which has its own filter and is easily cleaned, trouble is when swapping tools forgetting to swap over the extractor pipe. My old Hitachi filter bag would not fit the Makita unfortunately a bit to small in diameter. So I have to say this extractor is not really suitable for fine dust, ie, sanding or mdf, unless you are happy to keep cleaning the cartridge filter or keep buying the paper collection bags. It is however excellent otherwise but lost a star because of it. It gobbles up small rubble etc. with no problem and is also a wet one which I probably would never use.

Well priced hoover for all your site needs
Great hoover at a fair price. Perfect for most carpentry needs and general building work. Good length of hose and the power take off also works really well with all my tools.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersAnother quality tool from Makita
This vacuum cleaner is good quality and great value for money. I have used mine for plaster dust, brick dust, rubble, wet wallpaper and all manner of general dirt. The long hose makes this great for cleaning the car too. It uses 19 litre disposable bags that work out very cheap given the size. I found packs of 5 genuine replacements on eBay.

Comes with a 3.5 metre hose, tool adapter, combination floor tool, crevice tool and upholstery tool. No dusting brush. 1000W motor and 2000W power take off for tools, with auto start/stop.

It has a filter cleaning button which reverses the air flow to keep the filter clean. The hose can be attached to the exhaust and used as a blower. Can be used as a wet vac, just remove the dust bag. There is also the option to use an open top plastic bag. Comes with 1 of each bag as standard.

This machine is fairly basic in some ways, has simple friction-fit aluminium poles and the power cable just hangs off the side with a rubber strap. This is not an issue on this type of machine and keeps the price down.

Made in Hungary. Even the motor which can be just about seen inside has metal blades and is made in Slovenia. With so many other mainstream manufacturers just handing over their entire product line and manufacturing to the cheapest Chinese bidder this is refreshing to see from Makita and something they do with many of their tools.

Excellent quality and value for money. Typical Makita.

    Makita Quality
Fantastic bit of kit, first one arrived faulty but amazon gave a great service and very pleased with the replacement, the automatic tool switch is worth the money alone. Good suction also.

    Extremely effective
Can do power sanding indoors with this. Thought it was a bit of a luxury as a diyer but it’s by far the tool I get the most use of. A million times better than a simple canvas bag on a power tool. Also my main home vacuum cleaner.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our Usershow good is this? how good is it?
Amazing, wonderful for my domestic sanding job. Makita do make even better (for even finer particles) dust extractors, but for me (whilst still myself wearing a proper dust mask too) I was blown away (excuse the pun) at how much dust this picked up. It’s so so very good. Hardly any trace of dust in the room even after a whole day of heavy belt sanding. Terrific, and thoroughly recommended.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersThis really sucks :-)
I have only used my dust extractors to clean my shed so far but I cannot fault it the suction is fab and cleans really well.
It’s a shame the courier did not perform as good, no communication when they were due to deliver my order so I missed them and it was like getting blood out of a stone to get it re-delivered.
Overall another great product from makita and well worth the money.

Golden Review Award: 19 From Our UsersGreat vaccum!
We used this to suck up rubble, plasterboard and drill dust. We managed to kill 3 other manufactures vacuum before buying this one- it handled the entire lot without any struggles at all!
    Fantastic build quality
